As far the J-20 goes, it's got enough technology stolen from the F-35 that it should be at least comparable

I've been thinking of making a character for one of the FS campaigns. I was either thinking of an old, firey Hellenic Air Force A-7 veteran who was forced into early retirement along with his plane or an Ecuadorian (Fuerza Aérea Ecuatoriana) Kfir pilot who was laid off when his squadron was indefinately grounded due to budget cuts.

The HAF veteran, favors American tech and is very goal oriented and almost blood thirsty. Places priority on the destruction of enemy assets, but also equal priority on protecting friendly assets. Gutsy, on the verge of ignorant of his own mortality. Loves flying and fighting.

The FAE lay off on the other hand favors French tech and is very much a survivalist, on the verge of cowardice. Will only do what is mandated by the mission parameters. Favors hit and run tactics, and dispises dogfights, or even loitering to fire BVR. He's in this for the money, he has a large family to support.

It is a Commander's prerogative in the British Army to protect those under him and point out flaws in an operational mission to those running it. He would have been remiss in his duties had he blindly followed orders.

It's why the British armed forces are more effective then the US ones, which just say yes sir, no matter how stupid the plan is.

That's it. I'm sick of all this "Hornets Suck" bullshit that's going on in the Firestorm system right now. Hornets deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.

I should know what I'm talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine Hornet from Boeing for ¥2,747,640,000 (that's about $35,000,000) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 years now. I can even cut Su-35's out of the sky.

McDonnell Douglas and now Boeing Engineers spend months working on a single Hornet and fold the steel, titanium, aluminum and composite a hundred times to produce the finest Hornets in the skies.

Hornets are thrice as good as Tomcats and thrice as hard for that matter too. Anything a MiG can do, a Hornet can do better. I'm pretty sure a Hornet could easily top Mach 2 without even putting on the afterburners.

Ever wonder why the World never bothered conquering the US? That's right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Hornet jockeys and their F/A-18's of destruction. Even in the Cold War, the government targeted the men with the Hornets first because their killing power was feared and respected.

So what am I saying? Hornets are simply the best plane that the world has ever seen, and thus, require better stats in the Firestorm system. Here is the stat block I propose for Hornets:

    F/A-18E Super Hornet:
    TL: 7
    Cost: $2,500
    Maintenance: 130
    MAX AS: 30
    Damage Points: 28
    Maneuver: -2/-3
    Aerobatics 2/1
    Defense: 18/16
    Climb Rate: 4/2
    Operational Ceiling: 20
    Dive Rate: 3/4/6/7
    Hardpoints (P/E/I): 6/9/0
    Gun: 1x 20mm M16A1 (6 Barrels)

Now that seems a lot more representative of the military power of Hornets in real life, don't you think?

tl;dr = Hornets need to do more shit in Firestorm, see my new stat block.

Speaking as someone currnetly undergoing selection to join the British Army, allow me to say that the UK's armed forces are far, far worse than the USA's.

It's not just a case of size (although it does give you pause when you realise that there are more men in the US Marine Corps than there are in Britain's army, navy, and air force combined!). The British army has been afflicted by chronic underfunding, and what money we do have is squandered by abominable procurement policies. For a time we tried to spin this as an advantage, "punching above our weight" and snottily disparaging better-equipped armies with "all the gear and no idea", but in the last few years that's been exposed as the puffed-up arrogance that it was. Strategically the British Army also leaves a lot to be desired - we went into Iraq boasting that we would show the Americans how COIN was done properly, with all of our experience in Ulster... and then failed, miserably, totally, incorrigibly, in Basra - we haven't had as black a stain since Singapore 1942.

    Hey (MiG-15) Faggots,

My name is F-86 Sabre, and I hate every single one of you. All of you are communist, retarded, shit jets who spend every second of their day being piloted by Marxist-Leninists and their cronies. You are everything bad in the world. Honestly, have any of you won any major wars? I mean, I guess it's fun looking almost exactly like me, but you all take to a whole new level. This is even worse than your performance under the Egyptians in the Suez Canal Crisis.

Don't be a stranger. Just hit me with your best shot. I'm pretty much perfect. I was the first swept-wing fighter of the United States, and starter during the Korean War. What roles have you played, other than "Ground-controlled interception"? I also get a 10:1 kill ratio against you, and have a woman pilot at the controls (She just broke the sound barrier in me; Shit was SO cash). You are all Faggots who should just kill yourselves. Thanks for listening.

Pic Related: It's me and Lt. Col. Jacqueline Cochran, first woman to break the sound barrier.

That's it. I'm sick of all this "Pipes or GTFO" bullshit that's going on in Firestorm right now. Super Sabres deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.

I should know what I'm talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine F-100C from North America for $50,000 (that's about 1,200,000 rubles) and have been practising at Red Flag for 2 years now. I can even cut down Navy F-14's with my Super Sled.

North America spend months working on a single F-100 and crank the wings over a hundred times in order to make the fastest interceptor possible

F-100s are thrice as good as MiGs and thrice as adaptive as well. Anything a Fresno can do, an F-35 can do twice as good. I'm pretty sure a single F-100 can cut through the entire PVOs stock of Fagots in seconds then bomb all their airfields.

Ever wonder why the North Vietnamese never invaded the US? That's right, they were too scared to fight against the disciplined F-100 flyboys and their Sleds of doom and destruction. Even during Linebacker, NVA pilots would target the F-100 escorts first because they feared their killing power.

So what am I saying? F-100s are simply the best plane that the world has ever seen, and thus, require better stats in the Firestorm system. Here is the stat block I propose for the F-100:

    F-100D Super Sabre:
    TL: 5
    Cost: $370
    Maintenance: 40
    MAX AS: 22
    Damage Points: 22

    Operational Ceiling: 15
    Dive Rate: 2/3/5/7
    Hardpoints (P/E/I): 2/4/0
    Gun: 4x 20mm M39 cannons

Now that seems a lot more representative of the military power of F-100s in real life, don't you think?

tl;dr = F-100s need to be rebalanced for Firestorm, see my new stat block.

You do need to feel ashamed of not being able to accomplish the mission objectives that you set yourselves, though.

If there's a thread-thin silver lining to this whole farrago, our humiliating defeat in Basra and the needlessly difficult struggle in Afghanistan, which hasn't had to be half as troublesome as it is, has given the Army a much-needed kick up the backside and will mean that the next generation conducts itself a lot better.

We still haven't got two farthings to rub together, though.

The only reason i even considered joining the amry under the previous labour government is exactly BECAUSE it was not "all gear and no idea" and not like the us marines.

Allow me to list some home truths:
    - The US isnt going to invade us and if it did we'd nuke them.
    - Bigger does not allways equal better, the americans may have quantity and also a reasonable quality, and i agree that we have cannot match that. But we dont have to. We're a small country, and we are actually capable of policing our boarders, unlike the yanks.
    - All majour armies are underfunded
    - British soldiers are actual riflemen unlike the yanks, and that is a result of gear.
    - Dont worry, americas economy will collapse when the dollar is rejeted as the international trading standard.
    - China strong!!1
    - Britain and the commonwealth countries are more or less the same country
    - Britain probably has the best tactical geographical assets after the US
    - Dont worry, i'm pretty sure we'll never have another war because we're all but bought and payed for by the EU in all but name

It is possible to win in Afghanistan, despite the commonplaces of armchair generals and cliché-spouting hacks. Soviet woes in Afghanistan owe as much to Stinger missiles as they do to the Wiley Pathans(TM), and what everyone forgets is that after the Retreat From Kabul (which was a result of the weakness of British command than any inherent strength in the Afghan position) Nott and Pollock kicked Afghan tush and sent them wailing all the way back to Kabul, where the British levelled the Soukh in a ceremony of superiority - it's just that a change of government back home prevented this victory being capitalised on. Military success being undermined by political prevarication... an all too familiar story, I'm afraid.

Fossil IS the main protagonist of Firestorm. There can be no doubt about it.

He 'crashed' his plane. The first time it was working perfectly fine and was undamaged until he slammed it into the deck.

Fossil received significant damage to his airframe and then LANDED his plane.

    After completing his mission.

    On two separate occasions.
