"He was right, you know." Ghaon says after the meeting has concluded, walking along next to you. "I'd rather not be held responsible for building a tomb for our people. Blocking off every escape route-"
"Ah, but we won't be escaping." You say to Ghaon, looking out over the edge of the courtyard surrounding the council chambers. You can see right down the central market path, innumerable kobolds bustling about their daily duties. You point out at them.
"Without them, our military would have no weapons, no food. Hell, I doubt I would have lived after being caught by Rozenkraft." You say, sipping some water from one of the small fountains nearby. "I believe that with our ingenuity, your strategy, and our technology, we can overcome this."
"You mean to tell me-" Ghaon starts excitedly, walking over next to you and planting his hands on the railing.
"Precisely." You say to him, grinning out over the crowds. "I don't intend to seal us in. I simply mean to funnel our adversaries into a manageable area."
"Even a thousand snakes can only fit some of their heads into a single hole." Ghaon says, rubbing his chin. "Hmm, that phrase never meant anything to me until now."
"That's what I'm here for." You say, patting him on the shoulder as you turn to walk away.
"Mynthar." Ghaon says, after you've gotten no more than a foot away. "If you need a personal guard, you can take whomever you need. I've already made the arrangements."
"Thank you." You say to him, continuing off to make preparations.
(And that's it for today)
