We discuss the impending system changes. Also taking a small break from the story for the moment.
    >> Anonymous 09/28/11(Wed)05:55 No.16451683
I suppose in a way I share some of anon's concerns over following a few sentences about ourselves...but considering we were the ones who made those sentences, I on't see much of a problem. Getting a bonus for being ourselves is fine by me.

I would say he's right if I, the GM, were to pick your traits and force you to follow them. If you pick them and then get rewarded for acting the character you chose....that just seems like an essentially free bonus for roleplaying, which you should be doing the whole time.
    >> Anonymous 09/28/11(Wed)06:00 No.16451715
    Fixed determination for everyone sucks.
We had low determintation Gen, and he was fucking effective at what he did, but he didnt get so many second chances. And that was cool.
And we have a determinator Shimaru, who covers his weak sides with his dedication, and able to greatly develop any successes with it. And thats cool too.
We want a ways to restore determination mid fight (as we have a blood hunger for it anyway)? Okay. Make up a perk, or introduce a nindo skill, or even better TACTICS DID IT.
Change whole system for it? Why?
    >> Anonymous 09/28/11(Wed)06:02 No.16451731
    >>16451715
It's fixed, but you can improve it.

    ...

I'm personally not for having flaws in a game but low determination sounds like an OK flaw.
    >> OP 09/28/11(Wed)06:02 No.16451734
    >>16451715
Your words mirror the exact sentiment I had when making the system. You had skilled people, Sasuke, Neji, and you had under-powered Determined people who really shined brightest when they got Lucky, like Naruto and Lee. It was a nice duality between methods.
    >> OP 09/28/11(Wed)06:03 No.16451739
    >>16451715
    Though,

    >>16451731
Is correct. You can STILL have that sentiment. When everyone gains Skill Mastery points and maybe Perks (maybe) to increase Determination, we are again setting up that paradigm.
    >> Anonymous 09/28/11(Wed)06:07 No.16451764
    >>16451734

The problem comes when the determined people become as strong as the non-determined.

Unless the skillful players can gain determination, of course. And then everyone ends up the same anyway.
    >> OP 09/28/11(Wed)06:12 No.16451795
    >>16451764
It's an interesting question that leads me to question the nature of hard-caps. But that's involving redoing the WHOLE system to satisfy a simple thematic thing. I honestly don't think we should be reaching 10 so easily, and I think we have been only because of our ludicrous progress due to no skill cost scaling.

    Ok, let's try this out.

Determination stays as it is. Everything stays the same about it. It ain't broke, don't mess with it.

Chakra sensing/chakra detection goes under chakra control, rather than genjutsu.

Criticals restore Determination equal to the number of successes you have over your opponent. If you have fewer successes, but still critical, you get one.
    >> OP 09/28/11(Wed)06:13 No.16451801
Skills now increase in the cost of Skill Points required to increase their rank. At character creation there is no such limitation. A character's stats are assigned at a 1:1 ratio. After this point, however, when the Kage gives Skill Points the costs are as follows. To put a skill at rank 1 or 2 it costs 1 point per rank. To put a skill at rank 3 or 4 it costs 2 per rank. Lastly it takes 3 Skill Points to make a skill Rank 5.

At Rank 5 in a skill you gain a Skill Mastery Bonus. Add a Perk to your list that describes your mastery of the skill and gain a +1 bonus to either the stat which the skill is tested against or to Determination.

When you have the Skill Mastery perk for a skill and receive a 10 on a roll you may spend 1 Determination to reduce that 10 to a success instead of a failure.

Great news, the system already does that itself. It's eerie, actually.

Should we include a Nindou system, or is that just needlessly complicating things?

Lastly, we talked about wanting feints. How about letting us use Determination proactively to provoke a feint attempt and deny someone a skill bonus to their defense at the cost of our Determination, sort of our, "rising fighting spirit" moment.
    >> OP 09/28/11(Wed)06:31 No.16451893

    >>16451871
Personally I think feints should just be fluff for attacks. How can making my attack trickier to avoid (which increasing the skill/stat already does) make my opponent Worse at dodging/blocking?

    >>16451901
Outstanding. Then all I need to change is the Skill scaling and I think we're good. I'm glad to hear that, cause I'm pretty happy with the system, to be honest.

Ok, let's try to get the story rolling again. What should we do next? Do we try to push for more missions, do we strike out to find Kisame and bring him to justice, do we plan against A and B, do we take the fight to the Cloud Village? Or do we pursue interpersonal relationships?
    >> Anonymous 09/28/11(Wed)06:35 No.16451916

I kinda liked the Nindou system, if only for the idea of fighting people with conflicting viewpoints, and both of us going above and beyond our usual to follow our own paths.

However, I think a bit more thought needs to go into it.

I like the idea too. I was hesitant about it then, and I"m still not sure about how to present it now.

How does everyone feel about the Unique Abilities? Honestly, I kinda want more, haha. Oh! Right, we need to redo our Genin-level one.

Maybe that's a good way to increase shinobi's power beyond Jonin, more UA's.

We're still on our break, so I ote for interpersonal...and maybe some sidequests that come from them? Kisame's OUR sidequest, or our 'thing', but I'm guessing some of the other swordsmen have their own goals and people to kill and such too. Maybe we can help out.

The most obvious one would be Yuki and her bloodline, but the others might also have things they want to do/get help with.
    >> OP 09/28/11(Wed)06:40 No.16451937
    >>16451927
How about we decide whose side-quest to pursue, I like that idea, building up some relationships, forming some bonds. At the moment we're pretty light on bonds. Only Kisame, which may as well be a Broken Bond, Gen, and Mangetsu. Yuki will be up there shortly with any more time spent with her.

We have 4 comrades other than Mangetsu and Yuki, who should we try and learn about? Who needs development?

Of course, there's also us pursuing a Summoning Contract, which could be fun.

I think it should be up to the Mizukage to plan for the new Raikage's reprisal, it is the logical effect of her plan to kill the last. it is our job to train, I think. Or we could try to impress upon her the danger of this organization that is headhunting the most powerful ninja from multiple countries and try and investigate, although I think investigation is outside our primary skill set. Either way I think these are other people's jobs, and we are to be called into action when there is something to swing our sword at, although that is kind of restraining our roleplay venues.

Same, closer ties with our team is best, plus we'll need to keep to keep an eye on them to make sure the fame doesn't get to their heads, I can think of a couple of them who'd be most vulnerable to this, Tetsuo and that guy going on about legends and the like.

Tetsuo and Gendo might go a little overboard with it. Fame and prestige is what led Tetsuo down his dark path, when he became wealthy off being a Jonin he started wasting it and fell into a spiral.

Gendo has a flair for the dramatic.

    >>16451975

Yep. Sage Mode is indeed frog specific, I'm still not sure if I want to include that, because a tremendous plot hole opens up with that era of the show.

Anyway, Crocodiles will be cool to meet and I planned for this for a while now. Gendo needs some characterization and I planned his Grand Summon for our fight against the Kinkaku Force. He's a cool dude.

Anyway, it's almost sleeping time for this OP, so, while I'm gone, I leave you all these challenges/things to discuss.

The implimentation of the Nindou system, how do we make this work. People's shinobi way is a very important part of several of their character's backgrounds, how can we put this in the game.

Kisame. He's so important to us he needs a section to himself. We're the only one he's bonded with in the village, period.

Yuki. How do we treat this. As a drunken thing, or as a shot at restoring the bloodline and more.

Tetsuo, and his inevitable downward slope.
    Mangetsu and his illness.

A and B, how can we form adequate defenses against these powerhouses?

    >>16452007
I don't imagine it being so bad if you wanted to do it. It would just be a "skill" (or unique or whatever it's classified as) that increases your chakra pool by 33% If you stay still and succeed a chakra control test or something. The increased strength and speed could just be from spending that chakra on taijutsu techniques.
    >> OP 09/28/11(Wed)07:03 No.16452068
    >>16452061
    Yeah, that would work.

I just personally don't see a reason that it must exist. Seems too needlessly strong. I dunno, we'll play it by ear, but for now, I'm just not sure.
    >> Anonymous 09/28/11(Wed)07:08 No.16452098
    >>16452056

Hmmmmm...I don't think our way of the ninja should mean we get stat bonuses except in 'goes up to 11' circumstances where they legitimately come into play. Like, being professional with the Raikage and people, or just generally being honest, shouldn't give us points.

As it's something we believe in, it should both be something we can use if we run on empty, and if it's something that's important in the conflict at the moment.

So if we've no determination left, but if we don't stop this guy/gal we're up against the village will be doomed, then we get a 50/50 version of it, where we have a 50% chance of being able to use it. Maybe only the once, but it's there.

Yeah that was a crap think through toward the end, but I think the rest stands.
    >> Anonymous 09/28/11(Wed)07:12 No.16452122
    >>16452098

On more thought, I think it'd probably be better used as a chakra/damage bonus- I can see us staggering bloodied to our feet for one last go-around.

    "I'm a professional...and I see things through...TO THE END!!"

Cue massive last ditch water dragon using everything we've got and then some.

    >Nindou
I've already made my suggestion in the other thread, I'll leave sorting it out to you guys.

    >Kisame
Dealing with Kisame should be around the climax of the adventure I think. We could try and bring him back into the fold with the rejuvenated swordsmen or we could have a final showdown with manly tears. Either one's good.

    >Yuki: I say sure pursue a relationship. Help her reestablish her clan. Maybe even go after her cousin to see if we can't bring him back. Which would lead us to Orochimaru and possibly a lead on Kisame.

    >Tetsuo
We should directly talk to him about it. Have weekly evaluations to ensure no one in the swords is slipping in their performance.

    >Mangetsu
This is trickier. He's a valuable asset to be sure. Hmm, maybe if we're going over the files on ninja we come across some info on Tsunade, that might be an interesting quest. Get the Mizukage's consent and try and convince Tsunade to help, maybe leading to a budding alliance?

    >A and B
I admit, I got nothing aside from making sure to separate them as soon as possible if fighting them.
    >> Anonymous 09/28/11(Wed)07:16 No.16452134
    >>16452056

With Nindou we could have it where each Nindou is situation specific in it's effect.

Naruto's 'I Never Go Back On My Word' could give him a certain number of extra successes where it directly affects a promise he's made, perhaps he can only have so many 'promises' active at a time?

Whereas Kakashi's 'Those who abandon their teammates are worse than scum!' Nindou gives him bonuses when it come to protecting/interacting with his team, it could also give bonuses to team training.

Regarding the Kisame situation part of me wants us to try and bring him back to the village, wheras another part thinks we need to hunt him down ourselves and kill him.
    >> Anonymous 09/28/11(Wed)07:19 No.16452147
    >>16452056

Kisame...we're going to have to meet up with him again. We're frenemies, we're probably going to butt heads a few times...but equally, we aren't going to convince him to come join us again and vice versa. He is the Sasuke to our Naruto. But nicer.

I think we can treat the Yuki thing as more than just drunken petting, but I think 'restarting the bloodline' with her is going a bit too fast, a bit too soon. If something comes from it then it does.

Tetsuo and Mangetsu- we sidequest! There's probably more to Tetsuo's drinking and wealth spending than meets the eye. It'll be about a dame or a family member, no doubt. For Mangetsu, if there's a cure somewhere...we'll find it with him. Hunt down Tsunade, perhaps.

For A and B, we cry and hope they forget about us.

About Mangetsu, the Hydrification technique, while not classified as one in canon, seems a lot like a kekkei genkai of the Hozuki clan, in that it may be a change in his basic biology, like the Kaguya. If so it would take specific research to even figure out what is actually wrong, let alone cure it.

I've said my piece on the Cloud problem. And adding to Kisame, I think we may be able to just talk to him, assuming he still believes in our honesty. Just telling him we are not on a mission to kill him and that we want to talk should be enough. We could perhaps get him to tell us what's up with Akatsuki, explain why he thinks it was best to leave and what he hopes to achieve.

About Yuki, I'm the the guy who came up with that cheesy romantic scenario, so she might be my budding waifu, but really I don't see Shimaru being romantically driven. I think there should be a deep connection there though. If she was to be more forward though, what would Shimaru do? I think he could reciprocate, but would put duty before their relationship; no settling down to make baby Yamada-Kaguyas. I doubt Shimura could ever settle down, unless there was peace among the Five Nations. If Yuki wanted to I could imagine him being opposed to losing her as a swordsman for the time it would take to even birth the child, let alone raise it, and it's not like either of us have close family that we could entrust one to. We would have to find someone we wanted as a guardian and Oh God Why am I taking this so far
I'll think more about the Nindou, determination replenishment stuff and maybe post later.

Nah, if you are "determinated" master swordsman, the "skilled" enemy would be a grandmaster swordsman (or a grandgrandmaster). Any swordsmanship related skills you throw at him he repels with higher dice pool and auto successes, recovering his own determitation at that (as he uses his prefered style of combat). So, to beat him you have to be creative and target his weak sides, developing successes with your Det pool.
You cant just kill him with sword swinging burning through your Det pool (but he can!).
Or thats how it should be. Like, in vacuum.
I do see that is still posible with revised system, you support, but it works in existing sysytem already.

Even I don't consider Yuki, or romance, a priority, or even a goal really. For me it is Tsunade, Kisame/Akatsuki, and Leaf Relations, probably in that order. Although I would expect we would have to improve Leaf relations before Tsunade would deign to help us at all, or just earn her respect.

(I've taken a trip for this thread, taking inspiration from my last post, just to keep things straight, like opinion voting. I am Mr. Love & Peace, I like Mist Clones, trying to give inspiring speeches ["It is time to challenge ourselves again" and "that was proof I am a shinobi" were me], and coming up with troll burns. I have misgivings about FATE style 'aspects' [though some recent talk about them has proved heartening], don't roll dice and often talk in a very hypothetical manner. In fact my manner of speech is probably annoying and will earn this trip some hate.)

    Another Swordstyle/Genin UA idea:
"Your swordfighting defense is nearly perfect, every deflected strike fuels you with confidence."
At every succeseful counteratack, using your sword, you recover 1 Det. (Cannot be used by character with Det more than 4?)
    Basic-going to the book-Perks:
    High Pain Tolerance.
Allows to keep fighting in injured state without penalties. Suffer injury effects after the fight.
    Unhuman Pain Tolerance
Allows to keep fighting in wounded state without standart penalties, any additional penalties are still aplied (like severed hand). Suffer wound effects after the fight.

Second one could work for A`s perk.

So, a sidequest idea: One of your swordsmen (Tetsuo) approaches you, and asks to be a supervisor of duel, with freshly initiated jounin, for Seven Swordsman Title. Your task is to make duel fair (shinobi level fair), and this proves to be harder than anticipated.

As I'm running Spirit of the Century, I love the idea of Nido - and I love it that we kind of agreed 'I am an Honest Man' is one of our big ones.

As for side quests, we need to go after Yuki's clan first. Not to bed her, but because the longer we leave Kimimaro with Snake the longer it's going to take to deprogram him.

Also, speaking of deprograming, did we actually get any Cloudnin kids during that attack on the training grounds?

Well I think our next mission, if we can't find where Kimimaro is, is finding Tsunade should be our next goal.

Also, I don't think we should neglect doing actual missions, though - unless they're very hard, we can gloss over them, but we should be out in the feild.

Oh, and we should do some awkward, taciturn, time with the kids at the acadmy. Oh, we should see if they're still doing the 'Kill your team' thing.

Romance isn't one of Shima's strong points or one of his priorities. So don't actively pursue romance at this time. But tracking Kimimaro should still be a sidequest to consider; knowing a Kaguya's capabilities, we should be concerned about where he is and making sure that he doesn't fall into the hands of the Mist's enemies.

Tsunade's records are very bare, outside of her exemplary military record it just lists that she spends most of her personal time with Shizune or Jiraiya. Upon checking their files they are also claimed to have no residency, all three of them are wanderers. The only chance you have is going to the Leaf, and what's more, talking to the Hokage himself, Jiraiya's student, or the Third Hokage, Jiraiya's sensei.

You set off on the ferry to the mainland and begin taking the merchant road. Carts, wagons, and people on foot walk through this highly traveled thoroughfare. This is the primary umbilical cord between Leaf and Mist, it allows service to the sea and is the reason that the Land of Water is so wealthy, despite its constant warring. As you walk Suigetsu is awe-stricken by the vastness of this land and how little water it has. Fortunately, Mangetsu has a water-bottle for both of them constantly to keep their water-forms healthy, though Mangetsu often coughs hard.

It takes three days to arrive near the Hidden Leaf Village by foot and this path but when you do the sentries at the gate note your arrival and in short order, as you get close, you feel some powerful chakra barrier being passed as suddenly three ANBU agents appear around you, "Who are you, and what are you doing in our village? State your business." The Captain says as he points his kunai right at your neck.

So... about that possibility of Shimaru striving for peace; I know it's a big decision for the character and course of the thread and should be voted on, but talking to Tsunade would be a good time for it to come up, if we decided to go that route. Tsunade lost the two people she loved most due to war and resented the ninja world after that; I imagine it would be a hang up in our side quest, and talking to her we might be able to find this out and make peace our vowed goal. I expect it would take a philosophical talk and some soul searching for Shimura to come to this conclusion, but if it were to happen, Tsunade, Kisame/Akatsuki, or the loss of another loved one (I think we agreed that his parents died in the line of duty) would be the time.

Since we have a few days of just waiting around, I think a sparring match or two in a dojo or some other training area would be fine. We really need that last bit of Martial Arts to help us get Taijutsu up to 10; we'll need it against Kisame, and if A or B every fights us.

Kakashi struggles up to his feet and shakes his head, walking over with his hands in his pockets and a smile on his face, "Yo. Nice to see you again, Shimaru." he says and shakes your hand, "So, has Guy decided to trap you in one of his training sessions?" Guy's teeth almost seem to flash as he smiles. Mangetsu pipes up, "Umm...what do those training sessions involve?" he asks curiously as Guy laughs, "Haha! We're going to live a day in "My Rules" philosophy! We are are bit schizophrenic.

Anyways, an idea about elemental chakra natures and jutsu. In canon, I believe the idea is each person has an affinity for a specific element, but after that learning to mold a new one gets progressively harder, to the point where most ninja just don't bother trying to get 3 down, and 5 is unheard of. My idea is that natures are a skill, and to use them you have to pass a chakra test, perhaps representing that you have to use more effort and hand seals to mold the chakra. I don't know what lower levels would limit, perhaps how much damage you can deal with that element or something, or I guess it naturally limits your successes when using a jutsu, so you are just less likely to use it effectively?
So to use elemental jutsu you would have to master as many skills, making your advancement less focused. Maybe after the second or third you up the cost of skill points by one, then again for the next, depending on how hard you want it to be. I suppose it should be quite hard, since people are more likely to steal their enemies hearts/chakra to do it than learn it themselves.

Anko is a very good lead, she is another connection to Akatsuki and our sidequest of finding Kimimaro. She could be rather traumatized though. Orochimaru was her sensei, she had an even closer bond to him than we did with Kisame, and he abandoned her after killing 9 of her peers, probably her closest friends. At this point she is a young lady and probably a Chunin; she was very promising, but afterwards she only became a Tokubetsu Jounin. I think it took a lot out of her. We could probably help her, coming from a similar situation.

Or it could just be that I can't remember him ever being depicted fighting an opponent that was strong enough to were he would need lethal force and plot allowed him to kill them. Also part of the genre I suppose, if strong characters fight they are more likely to just beat each other to exhaustion; to kill someone you have to choose to do it and be stronger. OP averted that one.

We've got a ways to go to compete with the upper echelons, but aside from that I think we can take nearly any non-S-Rank Ninja in a straight up fight.

While plenty of people want to be friendly with the Leaf, I don't think anyone has outright supported or denounced my suggestions of aspirations to a wider peace, which is fine; we haven't come to a point where such a thing would occur to Shimaru and require a vote. To explain how such a thing may occur though, I imagine it would first require forging alliances between the villages, strong ones, which already seems at least possible with the Leaf. The Cloud would be much more difficult; I imagine we would sooner be able to kill A and B and foster better feelings with a new Head than heal those wounds. The next step, I think (I look forward to hearing other's thoughts), is to form an overarching government. It would probably just start as a council between the Leaf and the Mist, but through force of arms and diplomacy we would have the others join over time. Forming the shinobi alliance is going to cause hell with the daimyo, but I say fuck them (not in character of course), they are normal humans who think they can be the sovereign powers in a world with super humans? Against their wishes? The daimyo would need to be enlightened to this peaceful alliance and brought into the fold or removed, probably clandestinely since we are fucking ninja. I know this is ambitious as hell and not even our agreed upon philosophy, but if Shimaru did try, I think even managing a generation of peace would be admirable. And I mean real peace, not this 'we aren't at war, but we still kill each other whenever someone with money tells us to.'

I keep talking about peace, but that has just been the train of thought I first fell upon. The other natural progression is domination. Conquering the other lands. I just have a harder time imagining how that could ever work. Let alone the achievement of actually defeating all the enemies who would oppose us, enforcing 'peace' upon them would become the task of a tyrant ruler. You would never be able to win the hearts of the current generation of citizens, and you would have to deal with ninja guerrillas. The Horror. I wouldn't vehemently oppose such a path if others wanted to take the story there, but damn.

...Now I start to see the similarities between the two though... I was probably just casting a biased light upon a false dichotomy. Whatever, I have elucidated some strategies.

I agree but at the same time I do believe that it'd be keeping with our character so far to want to gain allies. As long as it will aid our village to prosper we'll do it I figure, if that can be done by fostering allies where previously we had but tenuous relations so be it. We can also go the route of making our village so feared that none wish to face our ninjas for fear of our repraisles, still if we can gain allies I see no down side especially if we can then prove to be loyal and capable ones.

Remember guys we're an honest man and in this busines honesty, fair dealing and integrity are worth entire castles of gold. Again just my two cents.

And if such is the course the quest takes, I have no problem with that; I just personally think someone so powerful -should- think about where his sword points.

Returning to my old hypotheticals, if we did try to eventually ally with the cloud, which I mentioned being quite hard, I have thought about a possible tact. "A-dono, (and B-sama, if he is there, I don't feel as comfortable predicting his feelings) yours is a personal vendetta, but I do not reproach you for it. Your mother died in the line of duty, and your father died trying to avenge her. If you truly hate me, then understand that it is me you hate, not my cause. I wish only to unite our peoples and stop this from happening again. If you can not put the past behind you, than at least accept future peace. If you desire it, I will duel you (and B, but successively, the point is it would be only us that shed blood not anyone else), but you must agree that with that death the feud is over and the Cloud will join the council."

Pretty much these. We MIGHT bring peace, but it isn't our primary intent.

It's called Speed Familiarity, and it negates all the cons of moving really fast. Blitz 4 is really nice, though, for fights and other purposes. Most people would get -3 dice on their attacks against us, and we get to be our own private jet. Hmm, I wonder if we could modify Water Prison to allow us to bring people around with us without killing them due to SUPER SPEED.

Imagine the implications of NOT making it safe: Water Prison + Blitz 4 + Spin to win = WASHING MACHINE JUTSU

It's like the NASA G-force training machines, except with no brakes, we'll literally shake some poor fucker apart from the sheer centrifugal force. Amazing.

You know, I vaguely wanna go to Amegakure to see the technical marvels up there - maybe bring some back for Gen.
I'd also like to see some stuff outside canon, or at least stuff that was only touched on in canon - I'm kinda worried that we're gonna get sucked into focusing on Leaf Village rather than explore the big ol' world. That's not to say I'm not loving hanging with Guy and the rest of the Leaf crowd, but this is ground that Naruto covers. We should make explore and make OP craft some new stuff for us.

Maybe see what's off the map, too. I bet that Naruto Europe would be fun...

Dealing with Chakra Wizards and Knights?

Oh hey. Maybe that's where the Biju decided to fuck around and were bound into weapons like shushu in Wakfu...

Dealing with Chakra Musketeers. But that can happen later. For now, we are dueling with the High Minded Green Beast. Also, we -have- to try and get Mist's Cool/Grim Blue/Pale Beast to be one of our new nicknames. And we need to come up with a cool way to say 'Killed the Lightning Kage'

Kinda, but instead of making the water prison spin in our hand, we spin in place with the water prison- Think mario 64 bowser boss fights sped up 300X the normal game speed.

We are 'Raikiri,' the lightning cutter. The story apparently goes that a swordsman with his sword (chidori) was being struck by lightning, but he cut the lightning god instead, and so named his sword Raikiri. Not that I think we should try calling ourselves this in character unless we wanted to taunt his sons again, but it's still a cool moniker.

Oh, I looked into it more and I think the /ki/ ending is an old style attributive conjugation that was supplanted by the /i/ style.
If we were Shibu/ki/ it becomes a pun, meaning both that kind of "restrained masculinity" and "splash/spray." I only took high school Japanese though, so I don't know if I am making retarded mistakes.

Well, since Leaf has no love of Cloud, making an alliance, or at least, a non-aggression pact between them and Mist just makes sense. Also improving trade through Leaf into Sand would promote trade and wealth for all of our Lands, resulting in more lucrative mission contracts.
Just something that Shimaru has been thinking about on the Merchant's Road.

Also, you might want to create another thread.

The fuck happeed with old-school hidden mist swordsman concept? You know, a hardcore paranoid guy, who enjoys cleaving people in half? Who is that faggot being friends to everyone? Guys, Im dissapointed in you. There are so many opportunies for gathering first rate intelligence for our village and none are exploited, except Guy powel level check.
And being polite =/= being friendly, remember how we insulted A? Thats how it works.
Being honest =/= being secret spouting fool. We are shinobi first, we are not telling everything to potential enemies.
Forging alliances is a Mizukage thing, not our buiseness. Achievieng ultimate peace wont leave a place for shinobi in Five Nations. Thats a nightmare for individual, whose value is a individual strenght.
