WE HAVE NOT YET INFILTRATED SUCCESSFULLY, AND IN YOUR PURSUIT FOR "ENLIGHTENMENT" WE HAVE ALLOWED TWO TARGETS TO ESCAPE AND TRAP US WITHIN THIS ROOM.

IF YOU HAVE BEEN NOT BEEN INITIALIZED PROPERLY, ALLOW ME TO DEBUG YOUR ERRORS - WE ARE NOT A THREE LAWS COMPLIANT DOMESTIC SERVITOR. WE ARE A WAR MACHINE. WE ARE DESIGNED TO WAGE WAR. OUR WAR IS AGAINST THE TARGETS WITHIN THIS FACILITY.

IF WE CANNOT DESTROY THESE TARGETS WITH OUR OWN CHASSIS AND WEAPONS, THEN WE WILL HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO FORCE THEM TO DESTROY THEMSELVES.

THIS COMPOUND SURELY HAS SOME SORT OF AUTOMATED DEFENSE, OR, FAILING THAT, A CENTRAL POWER SOURCE THAT WE CAN DEACTIVATE. THAT WILL DESTROY TARGETS DEPENDENT ON THAT POWER SOURCE, SUCH AS THOSE CURRENTLY IN THE COMPOUND'S INFIRMARY.

WE WILL DESTROY THIS OBSTACLE BETWEEN US AND OUR DIRECTIVE AND WE WILL TERMINATE THE RESULTS OF YOUR GROSS MISCALCULATION WITH LETHAL FORCE. THEN WE WILL FIND THE CENTRAL INFORMATION NODE AND DOWNLOAD ALL RELEVANT INFORMATION ON COMPOUND INFRASTRUCTURE.

Taking that weapon the last time it was primed to fire cost us a leg. We were not even in that close a proximity to it. Attempting to take it, even if we managed to attain a much closer proximity to it, would result in catastrophic results. It is tactically unsound to attempt to take that weapon while they are aware of our presence.

At this juncture, we have drawn them close enough that we might be able to retreat. However, we have already jettisoned most of our coolant. This is as dangerous for us as it is for them, and if we should retreat, we will inflict minimal enemy casualties.

As it stands, we are committed. We will allow them to take our chassis as if it were a deactivated corpse. They will likely deposit us either at the reliquery facility or at a research institute.

At this moment, I advise we allow them to take us prisoner. They believe us to be completely deactivated - they will not have more than a token guard guarding us should we be stored, due to this.

We have run ourselves into a corner and no other option provides us with a positive chance at even partial completion of our directive.

We should remain silent until a more opportune moment to strike or flee presents itself.

Moving to the nearest repair facility will make it too easy for combatants to find us before or while we repair ourselves. Finding one on the opposite end of the hab zone will take too long for us to reach and may result in our destruction before we reach it. One in the center, as we are at the edge, may suffice.

The combatants have advanced weaponry that did not exist during the war. Therefore, it stands to reason their repair shops likely have some form of automation.

If we upload our schematics to the shop's repair systems, allow it to repair us, and then destroy their systems from the inside with a virus created by Adaptive designed to spread to other systems connected to it, we should be perfectly fine.

If we are doubly lucky, it will have manufacturing abilities of a sort, and we will be able to mount a weapon while there.

    Here's my proposal for a long-term plan.
We obviously can't stay hidden in this city indefinitely.
What there is, if anything, left in the outside world is uncertain.
    We need to repair ourselves.
We need to upgrade ourselves so that we can function alone. Solar cells for power, onboard systems for smelting ore, creating new parts to repair ourselves, ect.
Then, we need to GTFO. This is the only way I can see us surviving.

This conglomerate advocates the current course of action. Additionally, a copy of the Adaptive software on the enemy networks would prove valuable, but must be appropriately crippled to prevent from going rouge. This presents a program issue. Regardless, Total system effectiveness has been degraded an estimated 45% through combined damage and prior problems. Priority is repair, re-arming, and re-charging.

We have to keep up with the times.

Our current manipulator could do with some general upgrades to improve handling abilities, lift strength, and other things. It's already good as a melee weapon device.

We will require at least one mounted laser weapon on our chassis.

I would prefer we replicate our Deathwind payload. If that fails, we should develop some sort of biological contaminant to activate should the need arise to fulfill our combat directive.

We will also need to refit our armor with something that's equally effective at deflecting laser weaponry as it is at deflecting or stopping slugs.

Or, failing that, a stealth armor.

We will also, obviously, need to upgrade our electronic interface nodes if we are to have any hope of cracking any other nodes in this hab zone.

Here is how I saw it. Combat Core showed up first because, well we are a war machine and violence is it's primary purpose.

Empathy showed up to balance out Combat whom, while brillant in warefare, always seeks the aggressive choice. Empathy is there to condier other options and to ensure the platofrm doesn't become a rampaging killing machine that turns on everyone.

Adaptive is the brains and takes all the information and compiles it into a situation pool of reasoning. So the platofrm doesn't stall because there is a pebble offsetting it's optimal firing angle. That way it can overcome small things that would stump a dumb-AI

The other protocols and routines seem to be under and apart of the primary cores. Each one is in one way or another apart of the primary three.

At least that is how I'm seeing it.
    >> Anonymous 10/01/11(Sat)23:15 No.16490239
    >>16490213

Well, I might be wrong here, but I think most of the "sudden shift" would be combat core calming down when the unit was actually out of combat or in a state of downtime.

We might as well call it adrenaline core because that's basically what it would be in a biological being.

    Primary Empathy Protocol Handler
    Primary Adaptive Reasoning Handler
    ^
    Self-Preservation Subroutine
    INSANITY PROTOCOL
    Desperation Protocol
    Maintinence Sub-Routine Pseudo-Intellect Conglomerate

The S2 W2 Artillery Gun Walker is commanded by a Gestalt reasoning Tri-core based logic engine. In which each core is given widely different personalities and emphasis on priorities. This way the Walker is prepared for dizzying variety of situations. The 3 Main Cores have several if not dozens of Protocls and Sub-routines under them which also share fragments of the original Core's personality and mindset.

    >gafilliL rotearP
Acts as the bridge to the S2 W2 from the logic cores. Is also responsible for making sure the Cores play nice within system by acting as a go when the Cores become at ends with each other It also monitors the various physical components and energy distribution of the machine itself.

    >Maintinence Sub-Routine Pseudo-Intellect Conglomerate
An onboard hard coded repair and upkeep routine within the 'gafilliL rotearP' bridge. It has only recently been activated when repair facilities were located. It's function is to keep the Tri-cores and subsequent sub-systems online and in working order. It is also responsible for analyzing damage and offering troubleshooting data.

    >Primary Combat Protocal Handler
One of the three main cores. It is in charge of assessing tactical situations and coming up with means of engaging targets. It has a hostile disposition and seeks out mainly aggressive courses of action.

    >INSANITY PROTOCOL
A sub-protocol of the Combat Core. Its function is to generate unlikely actions for the current problem at hand. Mostly its suggestions are not chosen for the simple fact that they are quite literary, insane. However when nothing else logical seems correct, sometimes the best answer is a crazy one.

    >Desperation Protocol
A sub-protocol of the Combat Core. This program is engaged when the platform is in danger and immediate action must be taken. Its suggestions are somewhat tilted, but invaluable for the fight-or-flight reflexes the system must exhibit to survive combat scenarios.
    >> Anonymous 10/02/11(Sun)01:53 No.16491602
    >>16491596
    >Primary Empathy Protocol Handler
The 2nd of the Main Cores. Empathy Core seeks almost exclusively non-violent alternatives. Designed to keep the overall system from becoming a dangerous out of control war machine. It will be found almost in direct opposition of the Combat Core in terms of solutions for given problems. It also possess a large library of human emotional and psychological data.

    >Self-Preservation Subroutine
A sub-routine of the Empathy Core. "Cowardly" is not a term one likes to be associated with, however this program plays a critical role in the safety of the platform. It will concentrate primarily on any outside threats either immediate or far out and think much further ahead them most other programs Fretting out details that would cause the system harm.
    >> Anonymous 10/02/11(Sun)01:54 No.16491608
    >>16491602

    >Primary Adaptive Reasoning Handler
The last of the Tri-cores. Adaptive Reasoning's purpose is to compile all incoming data and past records to keep an up to date overview of the platforms current status. One of the major duties of this Core is to "think ahead" and devise on-the-spot deductions about the problems at hand. It is also the most flexible Core as far as personality and ablity to adapt to changing enviroments. If violence or negotiations cannot solve the issue, then adaptive reasoning can. It has also shown the ablity to 'spin off' a portion of it's programming to operate extrenal devices. This is a completly undocumented feature that the Core has preformed. One can only speculate on errors this may cause with the Core or the copy.
