    You are up once again.

You feel refreshed. The door next to you is closed, and rattles in the wind. A reddish light comes from beyond it. You feel a hollow pain in your right arm, and look down, to see your hand missing.

If right arm is missing from a fresh cut and I have a source of heat or ability to create said heat I'm gonna use it to stop the bleeding thats most likely going to kill me otherwise and then bandage it up with whatever i can. If i simply dont have a right arm I'm gonna listen against the door to see if i hear anything besides wind.

You strike out with a chain of blossoming blue missiles of force, blowing the window clear open.

Outside of the small room is a great cityscape, buildings descending downwards nearly infinitely. The crimson illumination comes from a flashing sign directly overhead.

You're sure you're male. You have little enough desire to father offspring, let alone mother them.

You lift up your right forearm into the light, seeing the reddish glint of metal off the end of your wrist. Your arm is reddish skinned, with veins going through the flesh. The mount at the end of your arm is silvery, with a large plate moving in the center as you try to roll your wrist.

You climb agily out of the room, your left hand taking over as you descend automatically down onto the road level. Your feet touch cold stone, and the cold awakens you. You see no one else in the distant-stretching streets. The reddish light above where you came in comes from a huge crystal sign, reading "Welcome Home bar and grill". It has a small picture of a house on a backing resembling the bars of a grill. It has the appearance of grilling the house.

You note that it was a twenty foot drop. You feel fine.

You see no one around. Looking at your legs, you can only see that you are wearing a pair of foot-gloves on your feet. You proceed towards the area that looks like a warehouse not far away.

There, you hear the ocean breeze rushing in from off to your right, which a small crystal lens that rolls along the edge of your eye communicates to you with small white letters of light is coming from the east, from the bay. You see a number of ironshod buildings near the docks, the light from the crystals over the bay projecting in a light blue.

You see an older kobold, about maybe 50 years of age, with a hat down over his eyes, slowly brushing the walkway between two of the buildings.

You move over to him, quietly and surely. He does not notice you.

"Hey; pssst; old 'bold. Humor me for a second. Where am I?" You ask, tapping him on the shoulder. The aged, wrinkly kobold doesn't seem to notice at first, save a twitch at the end of his ruddy-scaled snout.

He grunts, then shouts excitedly, raising up his eyes to see you. They are crystaline orbs, a neutral gray in color. "Oh! Mr. Director! I'm terribly sorry, sir! I'm afraid the old body-clock could use some replacement, for staying awake, anyway." He raises up a dark-fleshed hand, flexing it to rouse it from sleep.

"What year is it?" You ask him.

"What? Gods, if I can remember, I'll tell you." The kobold says, shakily. He steps back carefully, his feet soot black against the tannish stone of the docks.

"What? Are the damn trogs somewhere?" The older kobold says, pointing his broom's handle like a rifle.

You sigh. "No. No one but you and me, old timer."

You take another slow look around the docks, as you see a small clearing between the buildings. In that clearing, there is a large NAJA loaded up with a number of crates made of some sort of shiny, white material. You see small greenish threads wrapping the boxes together like a package. The doors seem to be locked by some sort of circle of white stone.

The ancient kobold's gray crystal eyes seem to glisten in a moment of recollection. "Why, no trouble at all, young man. It's just back that way," The kobold points a black hand towards the small clearing in the metal forest you noticed earlier, next to the loaded up NAJA, "Then, you take a right, and keep walking until you see the brown brick building." If there isn't (or it's being guarded), let's try casting a spell to see if our descendant has any magical aptitude. Something like a levitation and invisibility spell shouldn't be too difficult.

You are yourself. Rather, this "you" is the person you naturally are.

You take a closer look at the forearm of your right arm, and note the uniform shield-like shape of the scales of some sort of material the exact same as your old skin tone. You see a new set of tattoos on the arm, the same color as the old, wit some new additions in red and white.

You whisper an invisibility spell, the hum of it traveling over you.

The person who comes to investigate is a kobold wearing what looks like battle gear made from the same sort of plastic material as those boxes in a mottled gray pattern, like splattered ink. His right arm clutches a rifle, braced on his right shoulder to hold the front up. The left arm is a massive bunch of muscle, with a metal frame in the center, and a larger arm shaped like a dragon's claw, save scaleless, and a sort of gray-black color. His legs are prosthetics like the ones you knew, gray metal armor with the brand of the CCCP. He looks around, his eyes shining in the dim light, before heading over to a corner next to one of the crates. He withdraws a small shaft of paper and a spark-making lighter, and he lights it, sighing as he relaxes. A curious scent fills the air.

You move along the wall, tilting your head back towards the corner. Seeing a clear hallway, you proceed in, looking at each of the doors in the hallway. It was made of the same brownish stone, and cut off by a large cart hanging with various tools. Each door seems to be of the green metal, and there are ten in all along the corridor, most marked "Storage 1-5". One of the doors near to your left is opened a crack, and you can hear the conversation from there.

"Orez? No, his muscle's 4th class, now. He could lift a NAJA with one arm if he'd get the torso reinforcement." The voice of an adult male kobold says.

"I wouldn't want to get that." A deep, raspy voice answers. "I have little enough flexibility in my torso as it is."

"Maybe the new Naga-style body would be more your speed, then?" The first voice answers.

"Well, I'm concerned about my image."

"Well, the version we saw back in storage 8 was with no skin. My leg would look weird too if there was no skin on it."

"How much would that cost, though?"

"Hmm, I dunno. Assuming only 10 times the surface area, you'd be able to get a good skin for 500."

"No worries, I know a guy. He knows my parts are good enough to sell. They only scalp the people who come to play with cheap parts, like those plastic flesh things."

"Hey, I got some of those. Gave 'em to me after the work surgery. How much would a full set getcha?"

Oh fine. Let's take a look on the way out.
    May as well.

Do these dream sequences have a point, though? The only thing of use would be to get to a library and look through history to see what Mynthar is to do next in order to assure victory.

That would be helpful, if the is the future, and you can find a library.

The two kobolds on the inside are an interesting pair. One is much larger than the average kobold at 4 and a half feet, his scales a deep green. His arms appear to be real, massive things, the musculature protected by bracers. His uniform is a vest and undershirt of black cloth, thick and with armor inside, no doubt. His legs are uncovered, and have two curved, whitish toes at the foot on an otherwise black paint job.

The other kobold is smaller, having a "stick look" as some older kobolds would say. Standing at around 3 foot, he would be average in appearance, were it not for the large linegun he carries in his hands. The right hand is reddish, and the left white, with his arms densely armored by the cloth material. His tail is plated as well, and has a gun mounted at the end. His legs seem much like those of a typical kobold, and he wears a pair of thigh protectors and knee-guards. Below where the cut of his pants ends, however, you can easily see that his legs are of armored make. The left is red and the right is white.

You think to yourself as you press in further. Why did you leave this key for yourself? Why are prosthetics so common in the future?

But, as you head into a close-by room in a hallway, you see what you came for.

A roil of crystaline beauty. A re imagining of a classic monster. You look on at the ioun stone statue of a fish-like daemon, given to you by the two elves you know from the surface as a gift.

You take a closer look. You can see what appears to be a small silvery gray sphere, no, more egg-shaped than sphere shaped. Organic, yet, somehow, metallic. It stirs your right hand. You remember, now. You remember that after you return, your right arm will awaken, and you will be out of commission for a bit.

Regardless, the hand feels drawn towards it. It's metallic circuits sing to you of its desire to take it. You smirk. It has been a faithful hand. But it could be some sort of trap. If only detect traps would work through this area...

You place your hand up against the cold, crystal statue. You feel magic gently course through you, and your hand and arm slowly sink into the ioun ore. Reaching in towards the object, you feel it go up past your elbow. You grasp ahold of it, and draw it back out, seeing that your hand has grasped around it quite tightly. The egg is steel in construction, but was as light as an eggshell, the outside of it pocked with steel bands that bind the plates of it together. The outer portion has group of gears on it that begins moving as you draw it out from the stone, and you hear the egg begin slowly whirring to life.

"Welcome, ex-magistrate, to the world of the future." You hear a foreign-sounding kobold voice emit from the small egg. "The caverns have changed quite a bit since you've been away, haven't they?"

"An old friend, you might say." The voice says. "For now, I'm the first of quite a few set in creating a new organization. One encompassing the use of technology. As for the costs..." The voice trails off, clearing its throat. "Well, let's just say whoever gets in quick gets it the easiest."

"Three years got all this?" You ask the egg sharply.

"At least three." The egg says. "Before I... erm... became famous! We'll call it that." The egg says, sounding somewhat suspicious. "So assuming I stopped being famous and started being... This... In a month or so?"
