You are a god. Once, you existed as nothing more than a shapeless intelligence in the shifting, churning, morass known as the Well of Souls, but now you have been given form and power by the songs and prayers of your chosen people - the young race of forest-dwelling deer-fae known as the Hinds. You have answered them as a god of joy, with additional purview over wine, traps, and common sense. Helili, an ebullient (albeit not particularly intelligent) hind in her third spring serves as your liaison and high priestess, though as a god you are free to do as you please to contact whoever you so desire.

It is SUMMER, YEAR 1 - the second season since you first heard Helili's prayers. Your people depend on you for their continued survival as you depend on their prayers and worship to fuel your divinity. One, without the other, could hardly hope to exist.

Your BLACK TOKEN is capable of building fortifications around the small glade where the majority of the hinds tend to gathered, but unaided, this task will take at least 2 seasons.

    >This may need accounting.
Last season you spent 2 BELIEF to create a MIRACLE to turn a natural spring into wine to celebrate your arrival.

    >What are exactly our warriors?
At the moment, you have none. You began play with 1 BLACK TOKEN, representing a herd of 100 normal hinds. You may task these normal followers with raising an army, but their battle-readiness is suspect. Hinds are not particularly inclined towards warring.

    >Does teaching them to grow hedges, make traps or weapons count as a Miracle?
Hinds have limited magic that allows them to shape flora, if you wish them to grow hedges or tend gardens, you need only command it be so. Instructing them on doing other activities they do not currently understand through influencing their technology may or may not be a miracle, dependent upon how you seek to achieve it.

You disguise yourself as a mountain goat and manifest in a nearby clearing on the margin of the hind village, frightening a few residents who had gathered here to pick berries. They bound off into the deep woods, tails trailing behind them like pennants.

For the time being, you seem to be alone.

    >They must be at least neolithic, so they should have bows and small blades, right?
Thus far, hinds have little use for bows, though they seem to have taken well to the trap aspect of your divinity, and have been seen capturing small animals, decorating them with feathers and colorful berries, and releasing them.

They have some use of simple bone, wood, and stone tools otherwise.

You order your WHITE TOKEN to DO NOTHING. These hinds spend this season rearing their young and teaching them the songs that will help them memorize your commandments.

You can spend 16 BELIEF to transform the living wilds into tools better suited for shrine construction, allowing the task to be completed in 1 season instead of 2. After the initial season, these tools will disappear unless powered by an additional expenditure of BELIEF.

Although you are at present a mountain goat, you are still a god and can do anything you desire if you have the BELIEF to fuel it, save for the generation of new souls/followers.

Directly increasing the intelligence of 100-1000 hinds would be a significant miracle of alteration that would cost 60 BELIEF the first year and 32 BELIEF each additional year. There may be other ways to go about such a task.

"You're an ibex?" Helili's eyes widen. She wrinkles her nose as she grins. "That's a funny name! I like your horns! We can make ones like that for the good shrine if it makes you happy!"

You channel your divine power to turn the flora of the forest into tools which help the hinds construct their shrine faster than they otherwise might unassisted. When the task is finished, you are left with large, stately trellis arch some 50' tall covered in all manner of wooden bells, windchimes, and multicolored flowering vines. A set of carved wooden horns hangs from the center of the arch, just above a rough-hewn stone pedestal with a large basin atop it - presently overflowing with cheerful-looking berries.

The hinds spend some days dancing and singing about this new structure, attempting to draw your attention to it.

Miracle cost is dependent on how long the effects last, how many people it effects, what methods you use to do them, and what level of change you effect.

As a god of transformation, miracles that go about their task using transformation or any of your domain attributes will be cheaper than those of your opposed type (control).

Ergo, you could CREATE more ore in the mountains, or you could TRANSFORM an existing type of rock into useful ore. One would be cheaper than the other.

Gentlemen, let's keep this civil. Our godly aspects are:

    Primary: Joy
Secondary: Common sense, wine and traps.

How we handle challenges to our tribe should be based on our aspects. Hence, let's keep things running smoothly and happily.

I suggest we start by showing them how to gather up berries and ferment them. Probably start small, like keeping them in gourds. We can probably miracle up some gourds if they can't make any yet.

Second, start with the traps. They probably can't get out of any deep pits they dig so let's show them how to do that one trap where you step on it and you're hanging upside down from a tree.

Lastly, do all this while prancing.

    >Can we change our form to something more Hind like?
Would you like to be a hind or a hart?

    >What are these Harts like?
The harts are much like the hinds in configuration, the lower portions of a deer and the torso of a human, save they are male. Their antlers are considerably larger, and many are quite scarred from fighting - both of which are points of great vanity and pride for them. Although they travel in loose bands, they are highly competitive and do not seem to get along with one another very well.

Despite their vanity, harts are noble to a fault, and brave.

    Perhaps

Wine is easier for them. All they need is something high in sugar and a container and they should be good to go. Why waste miracles on something they can accomplish themselves?

Actually that should be a lesson we should teach them. Don't expect god to intervene all the time.

Once an Ibex, you now take the form of a great hart. Your coat is gleaming shade of pale gold, and a great, braided beard rests upon your chest as long hair falls down your shoulders. Naturally, your silver antlers are massive - as befitting your godly stature. A train of swooning hinds seems to follow you wherever you go. They do not seem quite so reverant as they are deeply enamored. Helili is amongst the retinue, but to her credit maintains her dignity.

    >>17098139
    >How cold is it during winter?
At present, you are on the cusp of winter. Flakes of snow occasionally fall from the sky, but melt when they touch the soft earth beneath your cloven hooves. Winter, you hear, can be quite harsh.

    >Do our followers have shelters or clothing?
As far as you can see, hinds seem to sleep in large piles for comfort and warmth, preferring to take their rest in tall grasses when in meadows, and beneath ancient trees when in forests.

You have yet to see a hind or a heart wearing anything more smiles, scars, or wood and bone bells.

Your expeditionary party returns to the herd with much adulation from the hinds who receive them. The leader of the group, a massive, dark-complexioned buck, eyes you warily for a moment as if sizing you up before speaking.

"We haven't found anything along the near side of the river except wolves." He states curtly. After a bit of tense consideration, he gives something of a bow by extending his forelegs and inclining his head slightly, though the bulge in his temples makes the clench in his jaw obvious.

The mention of wolves causes a number of your enamored followers to gasp and murmur quietly. They seem to shuffle closer towards one another instinctively.

    1. Sends the harts out to explore again. We want to keep them on our good side, so let's go back to being goat god or go full totoro.

    2. Teach the hinds how to do stuff related to our domain. Since the hinds have nature magic, they don't actually need tools to build anything. They just need us to show them how it's done. I assume they can magically dig pits, bend branches and do all of that once we show them. So let's show them how to make wine skins and build some rudimentary traps.

    3. Frolic. This goes without saying.

Harts explore, white tokens do nothing (frolic) black tokens build some awesome traps to defend our shrine (Since people will be there to worship).

"There has yet to be a winter where more than thirty wolves have been spotted, this one will be no different." The hart seems certain of this. The nine remaining harts, all of which appear to be of nearly equal strength to this one, gather near him.

    "It matters to me."

You inhale slowly after you speak and fill your four lungs with the chill air of the material plane on this crisp, near-winter morning. As you do so, your form grows hazy, expands. Your fur becomes shaggy, your horns, a great crown of sprouted, velveted antlers. Your human body is absorbed into your growing deerlike form. When you are finished, you are massive and eerie, with a wise, serene face like a mask and a voice that sounds like thunder rolling over water.

"You are all my children. You are all my herd. Each young roe that does not survive to see the dew of spring is like a spear in my heart. For ages uncounted I have watched you, my people, die to the cold and the sharp claws of beasts. No more."

The harts puzzle for a moment, first looking angry, then awed. They stand lax, some with jaws gaping as they watch you for a long moment.

"Helili! Helili! He's angry! We've made him sad!" the hinds cry, rushing towards the priestess. They swarm her, embracing her and trembling.

"Don't worry!" She reassures them. "He is not angry, he just wants to help. He is a good god, see? He likes us!"

I don't want to give a mortal any special ability without her succeeding in a quest for it first.

If we just give her her gift without a struggle, we'll be inundated by requests and lose followers. If we refuse, we lose followers. If we accept and give her a challenging quest in return for the gift, then we will retain followers, our mythology gains an extra chapter, but we won't be as full-up on prayers since people will know that it takes hard work to gain our blessing.

In the interest of helping you guys figure out what you can do with miracles (You are a god, you can do anything) here's some rules. The game doesn't have a list to pick from, you think of something you want then build it from scratch.

Step 1: Determine what you want to happen. The first step is to identify the problem, then determine how you want to solve it. You might find it easiest to begin with the words “I want.” This step is basic; it’s not “I want the scouts to become mighty warriors,” it’s “I want the scouts to be able to kill these trolls.

Some examples of things you might think to yourself during this step are:
    • I want more people in my tribe.
    • I want those barbarians to start worshiping me.
    • I want the mountain lions to stop eating my people’s sheep.
    • I want the opposing army to no longer be a threat.
    • I want to eliminate my rival’s followers.

Step 2: Determine how to accomplish it. You then figure out how you’re going to accomplish whatever it is you want to happen. You have infinite possibilities. Some example taken from the list above

    • Make your people supernaturally more fertile.
    • Send priests with the power to perform magic to preach to the barbarians.
    • Cause landslides that kill the mountain lions.
    • The day turns to night, the skies thunder, and a mighty voice tells the opposing army to “turn back, or face the wrath of the gods!”
    • Permanently turn all of your rival’s followers into goats.

Exactly how you accomplish your ends is largely a matter of personal style, inclination, and domain. Gods are more likely to use methods that they, by nature, favor. A god of death is likely to simply kill his rival’s followers rather than drive them away, while a god of the sun might cause a heat wave that makes them migrate to cooler climes. How gods solve their problems and achieve their goals distinguishes and characterizes them.

    >> Rulebook 12/04/11(Sun)00:19 No.17099615
    >>17099578
Step 3: Describe the miracle. Steps 1 and 2 are about brainstorming; step 3 is when you tell the GM what happens. “All of the people in that town turn into goats,” for example, or “Iinflict the town prostitute with a horrible disease that makes your hair fall out, then your eyes gum up, then kills you through pneumatic paralysis. Then I sit back and cackle.” Evocative and clever descriptions can help you if something untoward happens that might foil your Miracle. How the Miracle resolves is based on this description as well, so when you tell the GM what happens, that’s the “official” version of your Miracle.

Step 4: Determine the miracle's cost. The next step is to determine how much Belief the Miracle costs. Because Miracles can do pretty much anything, the system for determining their costs is elaborate and has its own series of steps. To determine how much a Miracle costs, do the following.

    1) Determine the Miracle’s base cost.
    2) Determine the Miracle’s cost factor.
    3) Determine the Miracle’s total cost.
    >> Rulebook 12/04/11(Sun)00:22 No.17099637

    >>17099615
Miracle cost Step 1: Base cost. The first step is to determine the Miracle’s base cost. The Miracle’s base cost depends on two elements: its effect (alteration or innovation), and its power (trivial, minor, significant, major, or legendary). Once you know the Miracle’s effect and power, consult Table 5-4: Miracle Base Cost to determine its base cost.

Effect: All Miracles are either alterations or innovations. An Alteration is any Miracle that enhances or degrades an existing resource (befuddling the mind of a group of hunters, golden armor magically appearing on a band of warriors), while an Innovation is any Miracle that creates or destroys a resource (a castle rises from the ground, a lightning bolt striking the enemy king). The distinction is easy to make during conflict resolution—Alterations increase or decrease dice sizes, while Innovations grant dice or destroy/cancel dice. Outside conflict resolution the same metrics are used to determine which is which, the final decision being up to the GM.
    >> Rulebook 12/04/11(Sun)00:23 No.17099645
    >>17099637
Power: A Miracle’s power defines how impressive and effective it is. A trivial alteration is equivalent to turning an unskilled individual into a skilled one at some task, while a major alteration could give those same unskilled individual abilities on par with the greatest performers of that task to have ever lives. See the “ Miracles and Conflicts” sidebar for a definition of how this translates into dice types.

In cases where the Miracle is not as simple as affecting a concrete resource, a significant Miracle represents an average effect, while less powerful ones represent flaws or awkwardness, and more powerful ones enhance the eff ect. Hence giving a human the power of flight on par with that of the birds would be a signifi cant innovation (an innovation because humans cannot fly naturally, so this is a new effect). Casting it at a trivial level would mean the recipient would require a significant run-up to get off the ground, and would be able to fly only slowly and awkwardly. A legendary level of the Miracle would enable to recipient to fly at incredible speeds and altitudes, grant impressive maneuverability, and allow flight even under conditions of terrible storms.

    >>17099645
Miracle cost Step 2: Cost factor. After you determine the Miracle’s base cost, determine its cost factor. The Miracle’s cost factor is unrelated to its base cost, but you’ll use it to determine its total cost. The Miracle’s cost factor depends on its duration, your domain, your inclinations, the location in which it occurs, and its scale. Table 5-5: Miracle Cost Factor summarizes these costs; an explanation of each element appears below.

Duration: Duration represents how long the miraculous effects persist. In the case of +1, the Miracle lasts for the duration of a conflict if used during conflict resolution, or one week outside it. A permanent Miracle requires Belief expenditure every year. Each year after you cast the Miracle, you must spend Belief to maintain it. The Belief you spend in this way is the same amount you would spend to cast the Miracle again, except the cost factor is 1 less.

    >53 BELIEF (0 spent this year)

    >> Rulebook 12/04/11(Sun)00:27 No.17099679
    >>17099674
Domain: Domain represents the increased ease of casting Miracles that fall within the domain of a god—this is the very aspect of the world that they were brought into being to exert control over, and as such it resonates through their very being, and responds to their touch. Th is reduction in cost factor is applicable to both Miracles that fall under the primary and secondary domains (though it can only be applied once per Miracle, even if the Miracle should happen to fall within two overlapping areas of domain).

Location: Location represents the fact that a god finds it easier to cast Miracles in regions he controls—the faith of his followers saturates the land, making it respond more readily to his touch. In contrast, when casting Miracles in lands controlled by a rival god, the caster must overcome this same aura of belief, making it more challenging to use such powers.

Scale: Scale represents the size of the target you want to aff ect, given in terms of the size of population such a Miracle would aff ect (though Miracles can also target lands or any other appropriate subject of a commensurate scale). For instance, during a conflict, affecting 100 soldiers would be a Miracle with a scale factor of +2. Affecting more than one such resource would require a factor of +3.
    >> Rulebook 12/04/11(Sun)00:28 No.17099686
    >>17099679
Inclinations: Inclination gives a reduced or increased cost depending on the style of Miracle and your inclinations— whether you are in harmony with the Miracle’s style, in balance with it, or in opposition to it. The different styles are: Creation, Destruction, Transformation and Control. In most cases, through creative description and Miracle use, you can use a Miracle of any style to solve a problem. Such ingenuity is important for gods. When deciding what style a Miracle is, think about the way it accomplishes its tasks, rather than the end result. For example, if a house is on fire, a god might use any one of the four styles to extinguish it.

    Creation:
With a sharp crack the ground splits asunder as a natural well opens not five meters from the blaze, not only allowing villagers to douse the blaze, but providing a handy source of pure water in perpetuity.

    Destruction:
Thunder rumbles and the heavens open as rain begins to fall in torrents, rapidly extinguishing the fire with no need for any inhabitant to lift a finger.

    Transformation:
Subtle zephyrs shift and change, slowly at first, but soon a powerful wind is howling down the valley, blowing out the fire.

    Control:
An eerie piping is heard, and forest animals race from every corner of the clearing, creatures from hares to deer mindlessly charging through the village and flinging their bodies onto the fi re until it is smothered. Not only is the fire out, but the inhabitants eat well that night!

Miracle Cost Step 3: Total Cost. Once you determine the Miracle’s base cost and cost factor, determining its total cost is easy. Consult Table 5-6 Cost Factor Multiplier: The table provides a number; multiply the base cost by this number. The result is the Miracle’s total cost in Belief. For example, Barok casts a Miracle with a base cost of 5 (it is a minor innovation) and a cost factor of 3 (it aff ects another god’s territory for one week; the other cost factor elements do not apply). Consulting Table 5–6, Barok’s player sees that if a Miracle has a cost factor of 3, we should multiply the base cost of 5 by 4. He does the math: 5 x 4 = 20, so the Miracle costs Barok 20 Belief.

Step 4: Pay the cost, etc, etc. This is the basics of miracle crafting, using the image above, it gives you an idea of the mechanics and what's possible (anything). Keep in mind that FATE will be deciding the exact mechanics and cost, you all just decide on what you want to happen.

The original game is set up to run in parties, which are called pantheons. Everyone in a pantheon would share territory. However, some of the rules are a little different since we're running this on /tg/, and obviously there's only one god right now.

tldr; you share territory with your pantheon - it's assumed everyone who follows that faith worships/acknowledges the entire pantheon - but at the moment, you don't belong to a pantheon.

Since our major miracle is Transformation, can we teach them on how to improve their innate magic? Or at least use the Common Sense aspect to make them notice that they could have better lodgings than just tall grass or beside trees. Transform rough grasses into soft, comfortable, beddings. Shape trees into shelters from rain or snow. Keep mushrooms growing all year round with enough knowledge, and grow berries and all manners of tasty forage where you want! Push on the Joy aspect.

Idea of form, so as not to incite lust or rivalry, or too much awe (also non-productive), why not a form of androgynous (not hermaphrodite) fawnbutt that dances everywhere (Joy), carries a everfull jar/gourd of berry wine that we share to everyone (Alcohol), with a shrewd look in its eyes, a pike in its other hand, a belt with various items and tools in it (Common Sense) and loose greatcoat of wolf pelt (Traps, and Common Sense too, damnit).

    More suggestions to think about:
    - Contact, trade, and conflict are inevitable, why not prepare?
    - You need to stand to dance, and you need live participants to join in the joy and revelry. Just food for thought.
    - Hinds aren't warlike, but are Harts? If Harts are more warlike, or at least of protective and aggressive nature, give them the weapons and let the Hinds do magic and set up traps.

    See you.

Hinds' benefit is able to cram in more population in a hex, right? So there is no need for sudden, and expensive, expansion. Let's capitalize on that: Make miracles that promote population growth. This will help our belief replenishment rate too.

I am not sure about instituting the orgy revelry one Anon mentioned though. Maybe just a spring love festival? Where joys of being male and female is celebrated.

Pairs, and harems, can first join in the public festivities, take revelry in the dancing, singing, eating, and drinking, before pulling off for personal festivals, which IS the main event.

Mention that everyone have a good time, little deerbutts are made, and no need to go into hedonism and all Slaaneshi with details of the personal festivities.

    >How much would it cost in Faith if I want a Miracle of, say, fertility in the whole area we have control on?

This would be a significant miracle of Alteration. (Base cost 4). Cost factors would be as follow:

    Duration: Permanent. (+3)
    Domains: None (+0)
    Inclination: Harmony (-1)
    Scale: Territory (+3)

Total cost factor +5 (Multiply base cost by 15)

This would end up with the miracle costing 60 belief imediatly, and 32 every year to keep it active. It would only affect one hex though.

Hm. Joy is a bit vague for a domain. Fertility is Nature or Love or something else, is it?

Let's scale down some parts. Other ideas:
    - Twins, they will be: Improve number of eggs ready to be fertilized on Hinds (mature female pop. only) during Spring Love festival (1 week), adds a second dice roll to create White Token
    - Antlers for Virility: Harts (mature male pop. only) have more staying power and volume to fertilize more Hinds, also only Spring Love festival (1 week), benefit is either bigger die size or bonus to creating a White Token
    - They Grow Up so Fast: Accelerate growth of fawns and bucks (this one has to be a season long, I guess), adds bonus to roll to change a White Token to Black

Someone with more ingenuity, please think up combos of Joy and Transformation Miracles!

Beauty in all things: The blessing of nimble fingers and creative minds, ensuring that even mundane tasks will be closer to perfection

One for sorrow, two for joy: Any negative or bad luck is met by twice as much good luck.

The reason Fate didn't let the rules be known beforehand was so people didn't just pick the choices that would allow for cheapest miracles. With the current domain choices, it's a good opportunity for people to be creative.

On another note, as a people, the hinds have their own way of life. They're willing to heed the deity's wishes up to a point, but trying to turn them into sedentary scholars would probably have similar results as turning dwarves into carefree nature lovers. There are other gods out there.

Tailor your approach to their interests is what I'm saying. Though that should be easy for a god of joy. Getting more babbies is pretty joyful to them I'd wager.

My problem is I am a bit pragmatic, or is that literal-minded?
Joy, of all things, is rather a vague abstract concept. Do I follow the endorphin side or the romantic notion of the emotion of contentment and happiness?

    Then, combined with transformative magic...

Like the They Grow Up so Fast, it's a body-growth miracle based on biology, but if I change it into Our Joy and Pride, where the care and love of their parents foster the fawns and bucks to maturity, will it become a Joy domain miracle?

    >Field too long
    >> Throw Away Your Common Sense 12/04/11(Sun)07:00 No.17102099
    For the heck of it:
    - Not Just a Fleeting Moment: the love and passion that a pair (or harem, damn deerbutt polygamy) feels would not just be for that moment, they will turn eternal, becoming children for the pair, bringing joy to their parents a hundredfold in return (Casts during a Black Token frolic, improve chance for White Token/always result in White Token)
    - All the Joys of Motherhood: those little pains, those little hurts, none can compare to the joy a mother feels bringing their children up, all their tiredness fly away at the look of their children (White Token can frolic and act as if it is a Black Token at the same time or increase chance to turn White Token to Black, not decided)
    - Fey Mood: by amplifying the gentle and protective nature of the Hinds/Harts into a joy for battle, it is possible to turn them into fey berserkers that would gladly throw away their lives with a laugh in their throats and a smile on their lips, but since it is based on the kind and caring nature of the creatures, this only works for a worthy cause that the Hinds/Harts believe in(voluntary only, turn any Token into a Red Token that can immediately act, said Token suffers no penalty for damage, but at the end of the season takes one half more damage)
    - Libations of the Fey: by drinking the blessed wine and partaking in the revelry of the ritual, one could feel all the joy turning into a comforting and soothing balm for body and mind that would heal all manner of wounds and hurts (a Token that frolic would heal damage/disease for the participants, the more Tokens partaking in the frolic or the lesser the hurt, the easier to heal the damages)

    >Do I follow the endorphin side or the romantic notion of the emotion of contentment and happiness?

You could very well argue for either, which also means that either can be acceptable. I'm generally not here to play gotcha or split hairs - that's just not my style.

    >if I change it into Our Joy and Pride, where the care and love of their parents foster the fawns and bucks to maturity, will it become a Joy domain miracle?
I think it depends somewhat on how you describe how the miracle functions, but yes - I would think so.

    >deerbutt polygamy
It's more like, they don't believe in/understand/have need for relationships at all. That sort of commitment is meaningless to them. Everyone should be able to have fun with everyone.

    >Fey Mood
This is workable, but the combat resolution system doesn't operate on HP. It's a success/fail thing. So in battle, generally, a token is either completely alive or completely dead. The same for Libations - although the cure disease part would still work.

I go for the side of Joy that comes from mantic trance and flashes of revelation. An in eureka or "experience, then learn".

The enlightenment that doesn't make you feel bad is the right knowledge, buddhist monk style. They are quite happy people beyond that "leave this existence" objective.

It can be both, with the older hinds getting progressively more serene and philosophical as they gain experience while the younger are just out to play and make merry.

I'm concerned about us turning our hinds into humans with antlers, too. It's like we're trying to climb up the tech tree in Civ with teaching them lit, pottery, tools, etc - when they might not even need those things. Go figure, next they'll be making the Great Pyramid so that all the hexes have free granaries.

i do like the domesticating wolves thing, though.

Well, helping them not die from elements/animal attacks is a pretty good reason to learn how to craft shelters
As is storing foods/brewing alcohol to create containers
    >> Throw Away Your Common Sense 12/04/11(Sun)20:21 No.17108229
The problem of domesticating wolves lie in their feeding. Hinds don't eat meat, apparently.
    > Thus far, hinds have little use for bows, though they seem to have taken well to the trap aspect of your divinity, and have been seen capturing small animals, decorating them with feathers and colorful berries, and releasing them.
Though that would end up with the small animals becoming easy preys for most predators... Would that count as feeding?

I can agree with letting deerbutt remain deerbutt, but that isn't the focus of the quest. They summoned us to help them survive, and we can't just... Actually, we can just let them survive on miracles. We just need to pump Belief production, and we can let them remain a somewhat primitive frolicking herd.
    +shrugs+
    Just one train of thought.

Yet, I would like to ask how we can influence deerbutts through non-miracles. Would teaching/arguing/discussing things to them that have connection with one of our aspect would make it easier for the deerbutts to grasp?

Ideas for an ideal deerbutt civilization if we succeed, feel free to add or refute:
    - remain frolicsome and innocent whatever may happen
    - forest expanders through druidic magic (Hinds)
    - exceptional rangers, hunters, trackers, and trappers (Harts)
    - where they settle, they fashion temporary yet majestic shelters from the flora and let them turn back when they leave
    - the only permanent structures are shrines, yet they are also integrated with the forest
