    412 KB Fairy Warband Quest 11 - Entire Quest Recap Narrator !!0z97bVlxXCQ 12/03/11(Sat)22:20 No.17098587
    Entire Quest Recap
You are Trixie Buttercup, fairy warband leader. Fairies are made of magic and immune to harm from all sources but magic and magnets. Upon their deaths, fairies burst into sparkles that other fairies can use to increase their own power.

Your warband has evicted an opposing group from their tree, which generates fairies. After moving in, you researched putting fairy sparkles into beetles, a queen bee, and a drone (rendering them magical and obedient, and causing minor physical changes). You also began to dig straight down, after suspecting that the source of the tree's magic was underground. Eventually, you discovered a shiny, brittle, rock-like object of indeterminate size, which you believe to at least relate to the magic's source. Aside from certain setbacks (a giant, murderous worm, several cave ins, and swarms of blobs streaming forth from a crack in the shiny thing) the magic hole has led to some important resources (a medium sized magic mushroom farm, a great deal of magic giant worm leather, and shiny thing shards).

Your latest accomplishment is setting up a series of relay towers to quickly report activities in range. Additionally, the queen and drone have produced three bees. You also have some decorations done.

Experiments show that trying to grow fairies out of wildflowers using magic water results in fairies that are too unstable to live.

    Ok, so here's the thing.

The quest is pretty stagnant and between that and general quest running fatigue I'm having a hard time staying motivated. I'm pretty sure that this generates a feedback loop where nobody else is motivated to keep the quest running either. So, with that in mind: you have four threads, counting this one, to do everything.

This sounds dickish, but really it's just a motivator for you to get some plot happening, and a planned end point to keep me motivated. If my guess is right, this will lead to four decent or better threads, rather than an unspecified number of low quality threads that may actually be less than four.

Oh come on OP. That's not fair. We don't know what the plot is! We've just been building a stable kind of society for us. If you don't want us to stagnate, then introduce a plot, like maybe fairies that don't try to kill us on sight for fucking once.

    No objections?

I suppose we should tell the gurlz to listen to Bloomstar, Twinkle and wibble while we're gone, and to remember the guard rotation. No slacking off. We'll know if they're lying!
    >> Narrator !!0z97bVlxXCQ 12/04/11(Sun)00:32 No.17099729
To pay the entrance fee, you have to wait three weeks to save up sufficient entrance fee sparkles in the usual manner.

This gives Bloomstar enough time to modify the Beetle Catamaran to hold the maximum amount of cargo, and the Girlz time to load it up.

You reinforce the unofficial chain of command before leaving, officially. The next week is spent leading beetles, rotating sleep schedules, and hiding. Eventually, you hit what must be the border.

That day, you encounter a group of fairies. There are six, and they wear matching green belts. None of them have noticed you yet.

    Girlzcount: 43
    Bees: 7

    > can we speed up time more
    Yes.
    >is there hope of an extension
This is not happening but I'll try to end somewhere interesting.

You approach, wearing various scary masks.

The other fairies are guarded, but most of them don't bother getting up. The one who is in charge approaches you and stands at a safe distance.

    "You're here to enter Freeport?"

You are. You pay the entrance fee.

The fairy stashes the sparkles in a bag.

"No fighting outside of designated areas. No stealing. No killing anyone except fugitives. If you do you're a fugitive. Bounty for fugitives is her sparkles minus one. Carry this or you're a fugitive."

It sounds like she gives this speech regularly, judging by the disinterested tone she uses to speak of potentially murdering you.

She hands each member of your group a shapecrafted bubble. There's something concealed inside it.

As far as you can tell, there isn't any kind of organization to where people set up, so you pick the closest spot that can fit four fairies, two beetles, and a lot of spread out items, and unload.

Your immediate neighbors are also making their first trip. They're a little bit hesitant to talk to anyone, but seeing other fairies interact peacefully is making them warm up.

"We don't stay anywhere for very long. And I, um, once threw Starglimmer into a hole." Behind her, Starglimmer sulks.

Shiny rock is minimally interesting. Nobody you talk to recognizes the stuff. A few fairies want it as a decoration, and a few others who don't have their own tool makers seem to like how sharp it is. You gain several colored rocks and one feather.

You get an offer of one sparkle for your entire load of wax, and a bidding war over the honey goes up to three.

The fun mushrooms are popular. You get a sparkle for half of the load, and an assortment of crafts for the rest.

Worm leather is rare, but not colorful, so it gets medium interest. Many fairies see the value in making a decent bag. One wants a jacket, and another wants parade armor. You gain an assortment of small wood carvings, a wooden scepter menacing with wooden spikes and decorated with wood, and a silk image of a flower.

Yeah, I'm about done. I assume the plan is to head home when the week is over, barring any interruptions that pop up. That's what will happen at the start of the next thread, along with anything that gets posted here.

Well might as well talk to people interested in joining our gurlz, and maybe try and see about talking to this lady running Freeport

Try to meet up with the guard after she gets off from work. See what she does for fun and eats.

    Fuck you too, backspace...

    In the name of experiment:
    - get a batch of just-hatched girlz
    - name them Experiment 1, 2, etc.
    - separate them, give each a separate item, tell them to memorize it, squash all when they are concentrating, tag the sparkles
    - sparkle a freshly split pod, observe if more faeries result and if faeries do hatch, ask any if their name is Experiment X or they memorize item
    - sparkle a critter, observe if it reacts to its tagged Experiment number and item
    - give one to Bloomstar, ask if she can tell what the sparkle name was and the item
    - keep one in shelf

    For now:
    - resale crafts for sparkles if possible
    - ask silk seller for secret of cloth-making (loom) if we don't know
    - wander to look for more interesting wares
    - take a peek at jobs available
    - pay a visit to Big Mel

i relay like these ideas except for talking the the leader of freeport she seems powerful and if we dont tell her we have a hatching grounds we have nothing to tell her of note and i dont want to tell her that at least until we have our own wings. Unless she is wingless to then maybe we could talk to her.

Man, I've been looking for this thread all morning and now that I've found it in afternoon it is closing?
Damn you slow connection... I know, I know, BB. It's not your fault you could only do so much... But still...

    Regarding ideas:
    - dyes, dyes would fetch for a lot, faeries are colorful, why should their home and items remain drab and dull?
    - sparklecraft trench knives or wide bladed knives for all the girls, hollow grip so they can be used as spearheads
    - wood shield of many sizes for all
    - train some in leaf-riding, give them wood bucklers
    - train most with wood tower shields and phalanx formations
    - sparklecraft armor pieces for Bloomstar and Twinkle
    - take garotte back from Twinkle, give her a sparklecraft weapon of her choice
    - sparkle our cape
    - expand our territory, time to battle the 'Queen'

I like all of those except the last one we need way more sparkles in ourselves and our lieutenants
plus our girls should be beefed up to first
    >> BriarGlitter 12/04/11(Sun)04:47 No.17101513
We should get a mouse, the one here costs to much.
if we can sparkle it we should then find a bat and do it to
(if the sparkle animal ability exists i figure we heed tht or a level up to it)

    Good night

Pay Big Mel a visit anyway, Trixie has magic sniffer and can tell how powerful most faeries are, so we can check out Mel's general power level of retinue. As an aside, Trixie is an extraordinaire infiltrator and assassin, we should see how far she can go undetected, though I think those bubble items they hand out is also a locator.

    About our army:
    - build larger version of the faerie-tosser, capable of being built upon the beetles or dragged by them
    - train leaf-glider to open their leafs AFTER being tossed from said faerie-tosser
    - train leaf-surfers?
    - arm them with sticky nets, glue bombs, and perhaps a pair of sparkle-tipped javelins (just remember to dissolve them after use)
    - train bees to carry Twitter (she's the one with the bow, right?)
    - always aim for faeries that smell of magic first

Not the Queen QUEEN, also not this Mel, but the 'Queen' that is supposedly situated near our territory. We should at least prepare our army, while sending Trixie and the faerie that told us about this 'Queen' where she sighted her troops to survey how big and how powerful this 'Queen' and her group are.
