RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! TG QUEST!!!

    Last thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/17306889/

You are fighting the unholy fusion of the Idea of Evil and Erebus, more or less confirming the idea you may have been underestimating the scale of the Ebon Night's power.

You have given the order to the Indefatigable's commander NOT to fire on the monster again with its makeshift reality-emitter beam. He nods, grimly.

"It's... your decision. In that case, I will be guiding the ship down. It's out of this fight. Good luck. You'll need it."

The Indefatigable begins to land as the VFs launch clouds of missiles, and the dropships, battlemechs, destroids, and artillery open up with everything they have. Missiles, particle beams, lasers, gauss cannon, rockets, and autocannon rounds all soar towards the monster...

    Well fuck.
    Indefatigable: Shut down the emitter!
He's force feeding us our own concentrated reality stabilization and that is causing the problems with your systems!

Damn, Federation tech isn't hard sci-fi, it can't withstand stabilization of that magnitude!

Right, with that done, we've got Guts, Darius, Lyla, the P4 kids, Knights Inductor for meatshielding, a bunch of White mages, Abjurers, and Aurors for buffing and support.
These are to directly combat the Evilbus.

The Delta Greens, X-commies, /tg/ recruits, Psions, BLU team, Undead hunters (if they're down here), native japanese resistance forces, Tosh, and Star-Lord are to ensure nothing interferes with the kill team.

The Mechs and Air Force may use their discretion on what to target. Probably just outlying Apostles, since firing on the Evilbus risks hitting friendlies.

Indefatigable, try to land in the Park or enter Orbit, so you're not touching down in the middle of Apostles.

    Right, let's get moving.

A horrible shriek echoes across the sky as huge gobs of flesh are ripped from the monstrosity. Though it caused the shut-down of the Indefatigable, it appears the reality-beam had at least SOME effect.

A VF has grabbed Guts and is standing by, the Al'Kesh is loading up the kids now. Darius and the rest of your ground forces are requesting orders.

Given no order to cease, the Valkyries swing around for another pass while the artillery, destroids, dropships and battlemechs keep up the withering storm of high-tech firepower.

The clever part is the planning, footwork, recon, intel, and assassination we do leading up to the Bossfight.
Ultimately, it ends with us having a shotgun pointed at the head of the bad dude, and us pulling the trigger.

    Command and Conquer:
    Just run away, world's fucked.
    Shadowrun:
    Teleport in, murder the bitch.
    Fallout:
Recon, Recon, More recon, then drop in and murder the fags.
    Dark Matter:
THIS WORLD HAS NO BOSSFIGHTS EVER
    Horrible crapsack Darth Thermonucleus world:
Was made of bossfight and firing everything. We planned our asses off to get there.
    Rivendell:
We talked to Ahriman. So we solved that bossfight with words.
    Silent Hill:
    Words, then fighting. Always.
    Zombies:
It was like falling down the stairs forever. We did eventually win with a massed attack.
    Castlevania:
    Hero assassination.
    Strahd:
    Hero assassination.
    Japan:
    All the missiles.
    Antarctica:
Will most likely involve fire and lightning.

Those are based on Xen wildlife? Was that stated in an interview or something? I figured that they were modified natives from other worlds that the combine already conquered.

My impression of the Combine is that they're an interdimensional megacorp that exploits primitive worlds and sells their natural resources. Their army is actually a pretty small, paramilitary force, compared to the actual "national" armies of their society. Basically, the Combine is the Dutch East India company, and Earth is some little tribal island with the misfortune to have gold.

    1 x pin-point barrier system
4 x armored heat sinks (mounted two each on the right and left engines pods; includes built-in Phased array radar)

Have repairs concentrate on stabilizing the warp core, the shields, and the Reality Emitter. We need its field back up to counteract the Ideal Evil.

Your spellcasters begin working on the appropriate buffs.

Darius turns to help Guts break free, slicing through several large bunches of the tendrils with Ringil. That is all the support Guts needs as he rips free of the rest with his own strength, fury in his eyes.

"Don't lump me in with you shit-eating monsters!" he snarls. "My anger is mine! If you want it, you can have it, but only when when my sword slams it through your battered corpse!"

The attached tendrils blacken, wither, and fall away from him as Elaine casts Esuna, cleansing Guts of whatever the Idea tried to infect him with.

The Knights continue to shower the shadowy form of Erebus with their bolters, the monster's regenerative and damage-deflecting capabilities pushed to their limit from the barrage and broken as the Personas exploit openings created by the ceaseless attack. Large chunks of solidified shadow are carved off from the monster, and all the while the dark orb grows larger...

Quick question. Can Abjurers create any Anti-Magic fields or such?

If so, then perhaps one of the Abjurers not casting protective spells can help negate the huge dark energy ball attack by centering an anti-magic field on it. Or a Magic Circle against Evil spell centered on the orb.
    >> Anonymous 12/24/11(Sat)22:09 No.17324586
    >>17324565
Antimagic Fields are centered on the caster, and only in a 10-foot radius. He would have to charge Erebus for it to be effective.
The Magic Circle Against Evil requires that the caster touch whatever the Circle will be centered upon.

We also need to know what the current level of our Abjurers are.
They got a level-up from Raccoon City, which would put them at Level 9 (unless it was a greater boost than a single level). That would make them still incapable of casting Antimagic Field, since that's a 6th Level Spell, and they can't cast spells of that level till they're L11.

The Magic Circles are already up. The Wall of Ectoplasm is opaque and putting in between any of the combatants and their target will effectively pull them from the fight. The Intellect Fortresses go up as planned, halving all damage from psionic sources.

Lyla and the nameless mage both summon Holy on the dark orb. It seems to shrink a little in size, but still continues to grow despite the bombardment.

One of the Abjurers manages to cast Feather Fall just in time on the space marine that falls. He will survive but cannot help in this battle. All four Abjurers are occupied by casting the spell this round, nullifying what would've been an instant death attack for four of the space marines when more vein-tendrils rip from the fleshy hide of the Idea and cast more soldiers of the Imperium into the air. As even more tendrils begin to erupt from the 'ground', the attacks on Erebus falter for a moment as your troops stop to destroy the threat around them.

Erebus utters a shrill shriek from its twin mouths, and a gigantic bolt of lightning crashes down on Darius, dropping the mighty marine to a knee.

The dark orb begins to crackle with power, seemingly about to burst...

With extraordinary reflexes, one of the Psions throws up an Ectoplasmic Wall around the dark orb before it detonates. This quick move, along with the weakening of the orb earlier is enough that the resulting explosion of dark deific energy only wounds everyone fighting, though the resulting injuries are rather serious. Darius himself barely avoids death, weakened as he was. Elaine manages a Cure at the last moment to restore him to health before the attack goes off. It is almost certain that without the wall to contain it, there would have been casualties.

Guts roars a battle cry as he brings his sword crashing down on one of Erebus' heads, the Dragon-Slayer cleaving through shadow as if it were solid flesh. The creature roars and shakes with fury as that head shatters and explodes into a dark mist before fading, leaving a stump behind.

Darius charges forward, leaping up surprisingly high to bring Ringil through the neck of Erebus' other head. As before the head explodes in mist, leaving a stump behind. The chest of the shadowy beast begins to peel back, exposing an ebony heart, a beating replica of the Idea of Evil.

The Abjurers have already cast those buffs on Guts and Darius, so they are cast on the Personas instead, further boosting their superhuman attributes.

A wave of dark blue energy washes over the assembled opponents, severely wounding everyone as it both chills the bone and melts the skin. Four space marines are consumed by the attack, writhing in agony as their armor, then their skin, then their flesh melts into nothing. After a few moments, it is as if they were never there. Even to those who live, the pain is enough that their attacks momentarily cease. Only Guts and Darius manage to continue attacking, and their assaults are batted aside by the monster's claws.

Have the Al'Kesh (and the Indefatigable if its transporter arrays are online) do immediate site-to-site transports of any dead that we have directly to the medical bay of the Oncoming Storm for the med-techs to place the fallen into the reconstruction tanks for attempted rebooting of their brains.

Also, see if the Mad Cats, or at least their pilots, can be detected and beamed out.

Did Flight 1 find the Leopard and any survivors from it? We will need to recover that wreckage quickly.

At this rate, it's like we should install EX-Gears in the Destroid and Battlemech cockpits and train the pilots to use them, I guess? Though EX-Gears mean that you have to modify the cockpits so that the suits can work as cockpit stick-and-pedal controls.

That, or we give them some kind of modified Marsec armor instead of EX-Gears.

See if we can recover those VF pilots in time to nannybag them. Their VF-25s should still be intact though, they are tough enough that a low altitude crash isn't going to break them- particularly with the armor packs on. So at worst we have two-pilotless VF-25s.

Well, Guts probably knows that right off the bat. But the Persona cast may not. At any rate, we could any help in repelling Ebon Night, and Guts and the Persona cast would at the very least fill in gaps created from the loss of our troops here.
