Once more, we join the majestic Zerg Swarm in its natural habitat.

Samir Duran is dead. Bernie is dead. A good percentage of the population of Moria is either dead or suffering from severe PTSD. Accountantbrate is ecstatic about the presents we got it.

The UED ambassador seemed very uneasy about the news that we had brought the Protoss into their war against Dyles. We haven't heard anything back, yet, but Melville sounded like he expected to come back with a censure or a sanction or...whatever other political things ambassadors do. Politics has never been a Zerg strong point.

We should share some of the fancy-schmacy tech and new strains we've developed/stolen with Kerrigan. Also, how goes funneling our units to UED space? Can we get a rough estimate of what we have available over thar?

Is /tg/ slow as shit for anyone else?

With three heighliners in action, the fleet can be moved from one end of the galaxy to another over the span of a day. It's more a question of how many forces we want to leave behind.

Well mantalisks and the mosquito things, and maybe clue her in on out breeding program.

While at work I came up with a great reason why we need to study the Morian Anomaly. Since it seems to slightly compress things that try to warp into or out of it, if we can figure out the mechanism that causes this effect, and magnify it, we can lay traps that cause entire fleets to be compressed into tiny, harmless, dead things. We need to stufy the damn thing, and figure out how to do it without blowing up a heighliner.

Labbrate and Cyberbrate object. They inform us that the heighliner's simultaneous ignition and explosion functionally ripped the space occupied by Bernie's forces out of reality. Their calculations indicate that power sources are producing less energy because the universe is compensating for the decrease in space, like cavitation in water.

This explosion literally reduced the size and scope of the universe, and it's uncertain whether the Warp space surrounding Moria will ever return to normal. To repeat this event intentionally would be tantamount to an attack on the concept of reality itself.

This seems like a good idea.

The Protoss might not like us fighting alongside of them, and they're likely to encounter a huge number of Dyles' forces. We'd probably be able to offer a significant boost to the Protoss war fleet, but hitting Dyles' relatively exposed planets while he's tied up with the Protoss may hurt him more in the long run and weaken the Protoss at the same time.

I just hope the Protoss won't hesitate to turn on any of their own that get infected by Dyles.

After a moment's coordination with the Protoss, we learn where they are, and where their strike forces intend to move.

A heavily-defended world in the Olethros system is in their immediate path. A quick scouting mission shows that Dyles has already terraformed the world, and that a defensive fleet is already assembled. From the looks of it, the Protoss do not have enough forces to survive attacking this world.

We may want to consider joining up with the Protoss. If we manage to pick apart Dyles' defense force here, the Protoss will probably be able to glass the planet, and possibly others if Dyles can't assemble enough reinforcements in time.

We let the Protoss come out of Warp in the Olethros system. Despite their clear disadvantage, the Protoss take up an aggressive formation. For a moment, nothing happens.

Then, the battle begins. The Protoss have a slight advantage in that Dyles appears to be shooting to disable, but it is not enough to overcome Dyles' numbers. Boarding actions are underway, but the Protoss appear to have adjusted their shields into a sort of cutting tool against Dyles' craft. It decreases the protection against conventional weapons, though.

The battle is just beginning, but already the Protoss are surrounded. Should we intervene now, or wait?

    (And more! Yeesh!)

We attempt a rescue, but it...does not go as planned. Our forces come out of Warp half an orbit away. By the time we arrive at the actual battle, the Protoss have taken a substantial beating. We blow a hole in Dyles' line, which the Protoss use (to our considerable surprise) to enable a retreat. Felanis sends us a very scathing thank-you from his damaged carrier before it jumps away from the battle (Pic not really related).

Despite our rescue-oriented posture, we still have enough forces to attempt to finish what the Protoss started, here. It will be tough, but Warbrate thinks we can do it if we're lucky.
