    299 KB Transpace Guard Quest B9: Bootleg OP !!Cuw+lR6NxOH 02/01/12(Wed)21:24 No.17768050
On a level of reality just below our own, the Crossover began. A thousand walls between fiction and the Metaworld tore open, releasing the hungry forces of Sue from their cannibalized homes. Metaworld itself- connection between Fiction and Reality, and the result of seven billion human's perception of Reality, was nearly rent apart.

In the aftermath, with millions dead and cities flattened, the Rifts existed still. The group that had managed the feat of slaying the Sues stepped forward to defend these gates between Meta and Fiction. They knew that the only way to restore stability was to keep to the Canon, as thousands of Meta inhabitants disappeared into the worlds of Fiction, intent on their own agendas.

    The name of these guardians?

    The Transpace Guard.

There are millions of millions of Canons out there. From video games, to books, to movies, to movies, traditional games, and more. The goal of the Transpace Guard is to ensure that nobody fucks with the story, and that Canon is preserved, so that the Metaverse remains stable, and no great castastrophe happens again.

Even now, valiant heroes fight to restore stability, from countless bad fanfictions, disastrous crossovers, hostile entities in the Meta, and author-self-inserts known as S.U.E.s.
But they cannot do this with strength of will alone.

Men need weapons to fight. Ships to traverse the meta. Troops to fight with. And they always need more money.
    That's where you come in.

The players are part of Transpace Guard's Looting division.

    Looting has two jobs.
#1: Don't fuck up the canon.
#2: Grab everything you can without violating #1.

Looters are paid extremely well*. Well, if they're good at their jobs.
Looters have a budget with which to Rent items, troops, and heroes.
Looters then receive Dosh as a reward for turning in their loot.
Get a lot of loot, then you get a lot of Dosh, you pay the Rent, and keep the rest for yourselves.

The players so far have completed 2 worlds, doing average in their first world, and doing excellent in their second.

The players are preparing to take on a run of DUNGEON CRAWL STONE SOUP.

Of particular note is one mechanic used in this quest:
    COMMON SENSE.

If the players would do something stupid, poorly planned, or otherwise "you really should have known better, with the information you have at hand", then they lose a bulb of COMMON SENSE.
If the players do something ingenious, wise, observant, smart, outside-the-box, creative, or otherwise displaying a lot of brainpower, they gain a bulb of COMMON SENSE.
Players can optionally spend 1 bulb of COMMON SENSE deliberately, to gain hints, or a plan of action, that would fit their current situation.
If you would gain a bulb of COMMON SENSE when your bulbs are already full, you SUPERCHARGE a bulb.
SUPERCHARGEd bulbs act exactly like normal bulbs, except that if you SUPERCHARGE all bulbs, you may upgrade your COMMON SENSE.

Currently, your maximum common sense is 5. You have 3 SUPERCHARGED bulbs, 1 ON bulb, and 1 OFF bulb.

    From the last thread:

You may take the Rogue for 25 DOSH, he will be able to find traps, pick locks, be stealthy, and die in a couple of hits owing to his low hitdice.

    >Cure Light Wounds (level 1 spell)
1 DOSH for a wand with 30 Charges.
Perhaps you should take with you a dedicated healer? I hear there are characters whose healing even extends far enough to reassemble the recently deceased!

    >I wonder how much a Hero from the Fable Universe would be worth.
OP knows FUCK ALL about fable, and as a result, you cannot obtain this person!

    >If so can we not request an enourmous amount of gold so we may purchase whatever we please when we come across shops within the dungeon
    You have obtained:
    GOLD! For 0 DOSH.

    >Also is anyone interested in the aqquistion of proximity mines?
    1 DOSH for a stack of 5.

    >Gluon Gun
4 DOSH each, 9 with infinite ammo.
It doesn't do as much damage as you think; personally I'd take a Tau cannon for 3/8 DOSH and abuse its shoot-through-walls ability.

    >With only ~400 DOSH of loot possible
Who said this? You'd get 40 DOSH for looting an Ancient Lich, 30 DOSH for looting a Dragon (except Shadow Dragons, who cannot be stunned), in addition to any other stuff you'd pick up.
Just like Half-Life, there's more than just Items to loot here. Be smart about what you take, and you can make bank. Massive bank.
    >> Bootleg OP !!Cuw+lR6NxOH 02/01/12(Wed)21:30 No.17768158
If I were doing this mission:
I'd load up on craptons of divination,
    Craptons of "capture enemy monster",
Craptons of "summon disposable" or respawners,
    Craptons of "tame enemy monster",
Enough healing to raise the dead,
    AoE healing and buffing,
At least 1 XP-sink hero to shove all the XP into,
Some dungeon bypass, including Steve? and Heavy tele support,
A few utility classes - Aurors, Thieves, futuristic Spec Ops, etc.,
At least one trapmaker, e.g. Orcs must die mentor,
A group shielder, a group stealther, a group resist aura-er, and group +damage-er
(Some of the aliens from Defense Grid prove useful for the first two)
(And for the last, just shoving all the aura items from WC3 into someone works)
That should add up to 500 DOSH, if not more, but you will lolostomp anything that doesn't cast Torment.

Good morning, Fireman Prime. Care for a game of Mastermind?

If you're up for it. I don't count on winning, though, having seen that you're really good at it. Still, if you want, and as long as no harm to the precious Bulbs can come of it, I can give it a go.
Deleted the post you quoted because 1) didn't contribute anything, 2) was in the middle of your intro.

Anybody have a list of recommendations from the last thread that we can pull up for the new kids? Methinks running with a pair of Aurors at the least is a good starting point.

Current DOSH costs of things players wanted:
    Minecrafter, Non-respawning: 35 DOSH.
    Minecrafter, Respawning: 50 DOSH.
    Terran Ghost - 25 DOSH.
    Terran Spectre - 25 DOSH.
    Dark Templar - 30 DOSH.
Detect Life 120ft ring, 4 DOSH.
C&D Stealth watch from Team Fortress, 3 DOSH.
    >how much for TMAR auto grenade launcher with varied loadout? thinking frag, incendiary, poison
8 DOSH. 6 DOSH for a single grenade loadout.
    >How much for a Warcraft 3 paladin?
50 DOSH. Comes with Sobi mask.
    >Identify Spellbook from Nethack
3 DOSH. You need someone who is at least Basic in divination magic to cast it, though.
Oblivion Conjuration Mage, 15 DOSH. Is afflicted with NPC retardation.
Oblivion Player Character, 90 DOSH. The extra 25 is for making the PC behave.

    >>17768158

If we need a healer, we could see if there are any WoW paladins up for healing a loooong dungeon. They fulfill aura resist stuff, healing, and are beefy to boot. They have a resurrect spell too, and can restore their resources through simple food and water.

We'd have to be really careful about who we pick, though. A player could be dynamite or stupid as all holy hell. A lore figure would be more reliable, but probably less powerful unless we're spending an absurd amount of DOSH.

Oblivion mage for 20 DOSH, does not have NPC Retardation.
A Crawl Player Character is 20 DOSH, starting at level 1.
    >>17768267
You have had a massive quantity of Paladins come through the portal that YOU yourself looted, and get a discount!
You may have an entire 10-man raiding team, one of each class, for 50 DOSH, or one of each player for 10 DOSH.
    >> Bootleg OP !!Cuw+lR6NxOH 02/01/12(Wed)21:43 No.17768358
An Invoker will cost you 40 DOSH, but you will be able to use your chosen god's power at GREAT POWER. You start with Kali.
You may switch to any god EXCEPT Cheibriados, Makhleb, Lugonu, Kikubaaqudgha or Xom when you find their altars. Kali does not like demon gods, gods of slowness, and she finds Xom kind of creepy. Is perfectly fine with you spending time with other gods, however.
I shall grant you a BOOTLEG COPY of Sieg Hart, called Sirt Haeg, for 45 DOSH. It is capable of summoning Lightning, Poison, Fire, and slowing down enemies. However, since I haven't got a single clue about Sieg Hart's personality, Sirt Haeg will have 0 personality and can only be interacted with to give orders to.

2 Aurors and a Balanced Raiding Team as a base. How much would Mouse Droids (Star Wars) cost? Good trap-checkers and scouts if we can get them to relay the data back to an Omnitool.

You may take a well-trained and mundane-equipped Melee fighter for 10 DOSH.
A Horn of Plenty is 4 DOSH.
    >How much would Mouse Droids (Star Wars) cost?
1 DOSH for two. You may also recruit a Cat, 5 for 1 DOSH, but they will not produce kittens in the time that you are here.
A "The Gray Aegis" 100% resist magic shield is 8 DOSH each.
A +17% resist magic enchantment is 1 DOSH each.
The "Resist magic" works on paralysis, confusion, banishing to the abyss, but does NOT work against fire/cold/lightning/etc. damage.
If you wish to buy a Rune from crawl, they are 50 DOSH each.
If you wish to sell a Rune from crawl, they are 25 DOSH each.
A Pokemon trainer is 25 DOSH, and the pokemon you take with you are 30-40 DOSH each for a Gym-tier pokemon, or 40-60 DOSH each for an Elite 4-tier pokemon.
    >> Bootleg OP !!Cuw+lR6NxOH 02/01/12(Wed)21:51 No.17768492
A Red Mail or Green Mail (Fire immune, Acid immune) cost 4 DOSH each, but you cannot wear body armor with one.
A Cloak of Water is 6 DOSH each. They put out fire 5 times a day, they put out MAGIC fire once per day, and if you dodge a fire spell, you take no damage.
A "fiery" descriptor (100% resist fire, 50% VULNERABLE to cold) costs 2 DOSH per person affected. It requires their consent.

    >Wand of Resist Energy
Wands that resist 20 points and have 30 charges, lasting for 1 dungeon floor, for 2 DOSH each.
    >Tamed Deathclaw
    35 DOSH.
    > if we send in two or three spectres we're going to loose them to acid and traps alone.
Perhaps. Would you like to brainstorm people who are good at finding traps? I hear there's a rather nasty trap type in the dungeon that can curse all your shit, send you to the abyss, summon demons, burn your shit, freeze your shit, poison your shit, and make your shit !!GLOW!!.
    >Minecrafter can even harvest rare material floors and walls
Unnaturally Hard walls cannot be broken by him.
Also, I'm assuming you're going to bring along a crapton of spare iron pickaxes for him, considering their breaking rate.
    >Mentats
1 DOSH for 5 doses, note that this requires consent of the person taking them.
    >X-ray goggles
15 DOSH for one that sees through walls like there ain't no walls.
    >Diamonds
You get a sack of 40 DIAMONDS for 0 Dosh. Further sacks require 1 Dosh each.
    >Spellbook of Detect Traps, Monsters, Items
    2 DOSH each.
    >Stun Bomber TMAR
    7 DOSH, as before.
    >Omni Tool
    2 DOSH, as before.
    >Maps
    You cannot map Crawl!
    >Rope, Duct tape, Chalk, Lights, trolleys
    0 DOSH
    >Bag of holding
5 DOSH. Infinite storage, but any items past the 15th that you put in will be a pain in the ass to find.

Can heavy teleport support cut these hard walls?
This is the first time i've even heard of this canon, from a quick look at a related wiki, i'm guessing it's sort of like nethack?

How much is nethack style holy water? The guard should have an unlimited supply of it, from what i've heard.(I've read you can use a small amount to make unlimited holy water)(To remove curses, ect)

In the last thread i read something about something that interferes with teleports, and a orb that summons monsters just out of view, could we use this orb to farm these monsters?

I think the 10 man team sounds handy, if we bless all their stuff with the holy water can we get them cheaper? Are they able to use the stun grenade guns?
I think i saw something about a member of the group being able to resurrect, is it just one member of this group?

If we flood the dungeon with holy water, will this remove magic traps and curses? what if we only flood it a little (less than a foot deep, in any one place, flooding more as needed)

What are we using for communications? can we be sure that we won't be cut off from our teams?

I'd like to have at least two resurrecters, kept sepearate so if one dies we can use the other to resurrect them.

For finding traps, the xray goggles should help for mechanical ones, but i'm not familliar with one that's good at finding magical ones.

Are our bags of holding puncture and tear proof? of they aren't we're going to need containers for our loot to make it safe to store it.

Could we use a dungeons and dragons player character for the xp? i heard the wizards can get quite powerful.

I support getting the auror, we've seen how one can grab all the valuables in a room with one spell.
    Spellbook of identify sounds good.
What are we using to provide drinking water for our troops?

    >Traps

    Unnaturally hard walls, no.
    Metal? Yes.

    >How much is nethack style holy water?
You may receive A SWIMMING POOL OF HOLY WATER for 1 DOSH.
    >In the last thread i read something about something that interferes with teleports, and a orb that summons monsters just out of view, could we use this orb to farm these monsters?
You could in theory farm Pandemonium lords.
    >Are they able to use the stun grenade guns?
The Hunter is able to, but prefers to use her regular bow.
5 members of the group, by default, have resurrection spells.
    >If we flood the dungeon with holy water
You ain't got that much holy water, son!
If you're looking for EXTREME TELEPORT SUPPORT, shit'll run you 200 DOSH.
    >What are we using for communications?
Plotâ„¢. Basically, if groups are close enough together, they communicate by talking. If groups are separate, they cannot communicate.
Would you like to pick up some crappy radios for 0 DOSH?
    > but i'm not familliar with one that's good at finding magical ones.
    Spellbook of Detect Traps
    Spellbook of Detect Objects
    Spellbook of Detect Monsters
+ someone at least Basic in divinations (Auror is fine for this)
    >Are bags of holding puncture and tear proof?
    These ones are, yes.
    >Could we use a dungeons and dragons player character for the xp? i heard the wizards can get quite powerful.
Yes, but as I have not played, you will need to select the spells used and feats learned.

If there's only one auror who knows the looting spell, he should be assigned to teaching the others. IS he the only one the guard has available at the monent, or is he just the only one we are allowed?

What advantages are there to EXTREME TELEPORT SUPPORT? Can it harvest this valuable sounding material the walls are made of?

Could we use our teleporters to make large containers to quickly make more holy water in the field? (swimming pools at a time?)

We still need an xp sink, anyone know what dnd build is the most overpowered?

From what i see the orb of zot closes off looting opportunities when collected, so we need to loot pandemonium, hell, and the abyss before we get it.
Also, we need a way to farm the monsters it generates.

We should get some radios, maybe scifi super radios, since we're going to be underground.

I think we should stick to heroes that we can heal and resurrect with our magic, if possible.

This will cost you: 5 for the Decanter, and 5 for the Engineering, for a cost of 10 DOSH for a Holy Water Hose.

If you want it to be STURDY, you may instead use 15 DOSH of engineering and make it sturdy.

    OPPO - 0
    YBRG - 3 Wrong
    YRRY - 1 Wrong

Because RRBB being 2 wrong, means

I'm tempted to have the minecrafter carve out a safe Base area on the 1st level, and build a small town under the surface. Then we build a big stairway down just to the side of it, with ledges for ranged attackers to fire at things coming up the stairs.

I guess we could just use the ship as a base too, but that's not as much fun as building one with murder holes and other fun things.

Another thought: the Red Vest from Chrono Trigger doesn't just give fire immunity, but fire damage heals the wearer. We might have a couple of front line characters armed with that, and have someone else with a TMAR gun firing incendiary rounds. Probably not powerful enough to base an entire strategy on, but a strong combination of tools.

What about FFT mediators for charming monsters? They appear to have about 40% success rate of getting an enemy to join your team, so we'd want 3 or so for a decent shot at it. As a plus they'd have access to skills from some other classes, and they can use guns by default. Maybe some combination Mediator / White mages for a mix of healing, shooting and converting in one unit?

I have never heard of Tower of Druaga before.
I've just played minecraft lot and I LOVE building bases for no good reason. Having Steve be able to build a base in the freaking dungeon of a roguelike sounds like fun.

More effectively, we should have him build small ladder tunnels straight down, each one no more than 20' deep (so if something ethereal attacks through a wall and knocks our troops around they can't fall to their deaths so easily), with occasional safe rooms built in where we can lock a door shut and rest if needed. Also, while steve is digging the ladder tunnels, they should be at least 2x1, no digging directly down from a square he is standing on! Easy way to fall down into a new cavern and get eaten by a grue.

On another note, I had an idea for Steve after he's dug tunnels down to the depths for our other troops.
This will require two diamonds and some obsidian to make an enchanting table with. Steve goes between several of the top levels, killing monsters for exp (perhaps with a backup companion in case things get out of hand), and enchanting a ton of random tools / weapons for us to sell for some minor DOSH. If he gets lucky, we might get a Silk Touch pickaxe, and be able to harvest some rare materials from the dungeon. Maybe even the hardstone our teleporters can't get through (unless it acts like bedrock).

Just got finished reading though this thread and I noticed a small error on the "fiery" description.
It's IMMUNITY to fire, not resistance. The difference is if you cast both the fire one and the cold one on the same person, when they take damage from fire or cold, it's increased by 50%. However, the Immunity prevents any fire or cold damage.

It's a moot point anyhow, recent errata made it only last hours instead of being permanent, so it's worthless.

That's fine, we just need to put bookcases near the enchanting table to make decent enchantments. We could probably grab a whole bin of old no longer used text books for free and pack those in the shelves if we really need words.

Here's a list of the enchantment types we can get, and the kinds of items steve can enchant.
    http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Enchanting#Enchantment_Types

They're mostly not that powerful, but we might nab a few DOSH out of this activity. Mostly it's just a way for Steve to begin generating some DOSH for us after we don't have much use for him. If it turns out we need him to keep building stuff / digging tunnels all the way through then we won't bother with this side plan. His primary purpose is terrain alteration after all.

    >>17771486
You can indeed enchant stuff, but it'll be at best a +1 enchantment.
You may create an appropriate troop container and attempt to bless a troop. Again, they must consent.
I would not advise using the swimming pool, as this will de-holify the swimming pool.
As for whether you get a bonus for selling things back blessed: We shall see.
    >> Anonymous 02/02/12(Thu)02:06 No.17771822
    >>17771676
I think it would depend on the difficulty of blessing said items. If it has to be blessed in a specific way to be effective then probably yeah. If not we're just saving someone at the main requisitions area some time, as I'm sure they have plenty of priests who can cast bless on hand.

I actually bet there are some loot squads dedicated to finding rare items to defeat specific monsters from myths and fairy tales. Need a silver sword blessed at a certain lake under the full moon to kill a unique werewolf? they've got you covered.

I'll be honest, the whole Steve-enchanting plan I'm expecting to get about 25 DOSH total for it. He has to grind a LOT of enemies to get enough exp to do anything worthwhile. On the other hand, that IS 25 DOSH we might be able to get for little extra risk / effort.

At first I immediately thought, what a fucking stupid idea and a waste of DOSH but then in class my mind drifted back to it and I realized how useful it could be. I mean yes, it costs the same as a Kisrkin which means less troops for us. But in exchange we are left with the most potent anti-demonic/abomination device we could really get our hands on for so little DOSH reasons being.
Number one: We possess the ability with it to clear massive swaths of demons and depower/annihilate undead in one sweep across a room (with its range nothing should be able to engage in melee). Might do extra damage against all magic besides divine; also the ability to mass UNCURSE items and ourselves/remove status effects.
Number two: It’s a goddamn water cannon and should be able knockdown/blow back any targets of nonsufficient mass/STR
Number three: Additives; IRL it is not uncommon to add solutions to a water cannon such as ink/dye/teargas/biological agents even minute amounts of acids. Hell we could even place some napalm in there which will burn regardless of the water around it we just have to light it after the fact (Promethium will ignite on contact with air once the water disperses out). We could even attach a tesla coil to it (read every sci-fi ever so I’d assume pretty cheap DOSH wise) and fire a massive stream of electric water electrocuting fucking everything in sight and on the floor, the ceiling; it’s fucking electro-geddon. As long as the operators and allies are out of harm’s way of course . We could even pump up the out-put pressure and use it as a water jet cutter for both mining and melee combat (can cut a man in half especially if we add some grit to the tank)

Number four and most importantly: Accessibility, OP has not yet confirmed whether or not the teleporter can even work past the hardstone layer so we can’t rely on Holy water just being beamed in at any time (and we only have a pool’s worth). Not to mention most of our Demonic opponents are in the deepest levels and other dimensions existing within the Dungeon. The Abyss, Realm of Zot, and Hell themselves are other planes in a sense and like Xen I assume we will not be able to port in or out as we’re not even technically on the planet anymore. Necessitating our need for a holy water delivery system on the lower levels; especially when the orb of Zot is obtained and we CANNOT teleport out and have to hoof it to the surface while fucking hordes of demons rush us constantly from all side literally appearing out of thin air.
We also might just want to mount it on a vehicle chassis instead of a weedy human who could be holding a gun anyway. I mean HQ gave us 1 DOSH for every tank captured at Black Mesa so an Abrams or an APC should cost us damned near nothing DOSH wise
So in summation, I vote for the water cannon.

    >>2: How much will Fantomex, Black Cat and Gambit cost in DOSH if we hire them?
We’re trying to steer away from heroes as a whole to free up more men. Fantomex(good killer but too expensive for what grunts could be doing, plus losing him to an instakill spell is less DOSH in the end for us). Black Cat, though we’d all like to hit that is just an extremely dexterous thief who while could help us disarm traps is just going to help us loot (an activity where her talents are wasted) Gambit though a proficient melee combatant and his ability to charge items is cool is ultimately a point sink as well

What's strange is the extreme lack of magic support and magic items you seem to be requesting, and exactly how much faith you have in the 35 DOSH Deathclaws, which I assure you are balanced for that cost.

Indeed. If you want to take more than 80 items, or more than 14 troops (Deathclaws take the space of 4 troops), you will need to rent a bigger craft.
Popular options are Leopard dropships, Zanzibar-II class ships, and UFO Battleships. Rental for each of these, with pilots, will run you 50 DOSH.

35 DOSH, for a HEAVY DUTY water pump. The type that can sandblast something to pieces. This one will require 2 men or 1 superhuman to operate it (men not included in Dosh price).
That's 10 DOSH of Decanter, 5 DOSH of power supply, and 20 DOSH of Engineering.
I honestly hadn't considered this angle, but it seems like it should work well vs. anything unholy or demonic.

You will indeed not be able to teleport in and out of Abyss, Hells, Pan, except by game mechanics. While the DM will not stop you from trying to loot these places, the DM advises that this is unwise.

Nice, that frees up some DOSH for other purposes.

I'm still unsure as to the makeup of our fighting troops. I do want the Minecrafter, at least two FFT White mages, and someone who can detect & disable traps for support. We may want to build our own traps as well, especially if we have steve build a shooting gallery near a place with high value enemies we can capture.

Okay, brainstorming on ways to weaken, stun and capture enemy troops.

    Stun Bombers w/ TMAR
    Force Cage spell (D&D)
Diablo II Lightning Sorc w/ Static Field (this may or may not be as effective deep in the dungeon, as Diablo II had limits on it in Nightmare and Hell difficulties)
D&D 3.x Sorcerer with Subdual Substitution feat (spells use same level as normal, deal subdual damage instead of normal damage).

Creatures / monsters with special abilities:
Chuul; super lobster with paralyzing attack,http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/chuul.htm
Mind Flayer; cone of stunning attack

More mundane options: nets, bolas, rope/net traps
    >> Anonymous 02/02/12(Thu)16:21 No.17779090
Hmm, Ultima Online mages would have the Paralyze spell too, and they're incredibly versatile casters. Damage spells, healing spells, Gate spell, summoning mosnters and even resurrection. Just need to keep them supplied with reagents.

If we build a good gallery of death, we can lure monsters to it up a big ramp (courtesy of Steve). We would want a good trapmaker for this though, and some consideration if we want lethal traps, or ones to capture / stun enemies. A 20' deep pit trap would allow us to lob stun bombs down into it with ease, and then capture the stunned foes.
Maybe we should grab a Dwarf Fortress Dorf with Mechanics, masonry and Engraving. Steve can do the tunneling and building quickly, the Dorf builds a couple of workshops and lots of traps / fortifications.

regarding rezzers couldn't we just purchase 1-Up mushrooms, one of the most obtainable power ups in a extremely exposed (and thus constantly harvested) verse. DOSH wise they should be cheaper than dirt
    >> Anonymous 02/02/12(Thu)17:59 No.17780063
    >>17779389
Depends how 1up mushrooms work. Do they cause someone to respawn back on the ship? Also, they generally have to be collected in advance by the person who will be killed. We would have to have 1 for every troop we bring, plus extras to replace used ones.
I think they will be of very low utility for us, at least compared to the other unit based ressing schemes.

With a UO mage we have someone who can attempt to res (70% chance of success usually) every 10 seconds or so. They only cost for failure is the use of reagents in casting the spell and the time spent casting. And the reagents for that are pretty cheap; they use between 1 and 3 different reagents out of a list of 8 of them. Getting a couple hundred of each type would be very easy. Reagents cost around 5 to 10 gold each depending on availability, and most advanced characters there have a few hundred thousand gold at any given time.
Heck, a UO healer character can cure poison and resurrect ghosts with only bandages. 18 seconds to res, 6 seconds to cure poison, 5 seconds for a strong heal.

FFT white mages get their mana back out of battle, and can raise a whole lot of times, in addition to being able to remove status effects (esuna) and heal damage (cure spells) AND have the Reraise spell (auto-res upon death).

WoW priests can res, heal a lot, and throw up a force shield around one target.

Regarding those 3 detect spellbooks from nethack, does the spellbook of detect unseen detect zot and other magic traps found in this canon? (It apparently detects traps in its own canon)
    http://nethack.wikia.com/wiki/Spellbook_of_detect_unseen
If so, i think we should get it, so we don't get screwed by magic traps.
Can our auror use a spellbook of charm monster or magic mapping? (Does magic mapping work in this canon, or does the no mapping thing mean more than that this dungeon is randomly generated?)

Nethack has spellbooks of detect treasure, monsters, unseen, and food, but we already have a source of food if we get the WOW group
Is the 255 of a kind limit per storage unit or overall?
I think we could end up making most of our profit off the monsters in this dungeon, rather than the orb and other treasure, since we know a way to make at least one kind of monster here (pandemonium lords, with the system op so helpfully provided)

I support getting the holy firehose, it should come in handy if we want to loot demons or cursed objects.
(If we get the holy firehose, lets save the one DOSH of holy water and just get a 0 DOSH swimming pool)
Yes to the non retarded WoW group, we don't want them running over zot traps and getting sent to another plane. Clever npcs can also give us advice on how to deploy them.
Can we use the nethack spellbooks with all our mages, rather than just one? It's be handy to have several mages spamming detect unseen around the place.
Even if the teleport support is now more expensive, we should still get it, as it makes harvesting monsters significantly easier.
We need to set up our demon farm BEFORE we get the orb, because the orb messes with teleports, and teleporting is an exellent contruction method.

like why getting a high DOSH (whats that stand for btw) char if thier 20 is thesame as some grunts 20
bascily didnt see a you rolled low but your chars skills saved you its always the equipment iirc

If an enemy successfully strikes you, your characters' skill won't save you any more, but armor can.

Rolls do determine an awful lot, but the choices you make ahead of time determine what you can even roll for, and for levels of bonuses and penalties (which are not revealed, but exist).
The only reason rolls end up being GOD is that we have a tendency to roll in the extremes in tense situations. A whole lot of 80+ and 20- going on right now in the main quest.

Cost for units varies with their capabilities, difficulty in acquiring, and how many are being received (ie: just one vs a squad).

They're an offshoot of Elder Scrolls, Warcraft, and D&D.
Basically, they store Souls. Souls are my Plotâ„¢ way of preventing you from steamrolling everything with 90 million Dantes or 100,000 Kratoses.

I'mma archive this thread. Stand back lads

Bootleg OP, how much of this quest lore is canonical to the main quest?

For the time being, I'd say: Most of it.
Except the parts that are "obvious DM Fiat because DM doesn't know the setting".

Run through the Lair, Orc, Dungeon down to D:11 so far.
Planning to map as much of the place as I realistically can for you folk, though at this rate you're gonna need 2 Bags of Holding to store everything.
