Good hunting.” James didn’t wait for a second invitation. He powered up the twin Allison’s and twenty-four cylinders drove the warplane forward until it lifted smoothly into clear blue skies.
“Alright, Tomcats, form up and let’s go hunt some Aliums.” He called back to his flight, as they formed into the finger-four over the Egyptian coast. Bernard “Flip” Sanders, the greenest of the flight was on Ander’s wing. Second element was Jeffrey McHale and his wingman David Silverman. Somewhere to the east was Weltson’s Red Flight, further than that was Yellow Flight. Back near the Libyan border was Blue flight.

Given the choice there is only one answer to that, even if you don't like Minna, watching her get her brains splattered by what is likely another victim of alium mind control of serious PTSD is going to seriously kill our morale.

That said, I don't think there is even really a choice in that regard, either we'll Gnome, or we won't. We might not even know if we did because for us it's not something we control, it's just something we innately do as Chuck managed to point out to us.

So if it's going to work, it'll work, if not, it won't, but we aren't going to make a concious choice about it. We'll likely open on Saturday with the consequences and being asked how we follow them up. Eventually the Witches will find out about our nature somehow, we're already looking dodgy as fuck to most of them.

Mine has only done so once. Light strike on the primer due to a long period of shooting dirty ammo with hard primers and my being lax in cleaning the gunk out of the chamber. A pound or so of force either way would have made the difference.

Now, I'll agree with you on the bad start part. I decided to skip tact and jump straight into the arguing.
Mostly because anyone who puts down someone elses views while espousing their own, is most likely going to get labled that, especially if they aren't being sparing on the insults.
As for that prior "arguement", it wasn't much of an arguement, it was a quotation, as evidenced by the nonfuctioning link to a post in an archived thread, namely SWQ Thread VI. Which in itself, was a post for more of a definition than anything else.
And yes, you can be an asshole without going out of your way to be one.You can be an asshole, but it always takes some effort. Even if that effort is just to think up some way to be insulting or abrasive or to disregard the authority of an individual.
As for the disregarding of authority equating being an asshole, read closer. The idea is that the authority of an individual who is a fucking prick, is not to be taken seriously doesn't mean you there are the asshole. Nobody likes being ordered around by somebody who treats them like dirt. There it is defined as a case where either way, they are going to treat you horribly, so the effort of trying to please them might as well be channeled into disregarding them instead.
As for a middleground, if people would actually look at this and think "Gee, there's no middleground, maybe I'll stand up for one and see if I can't get enough people to make one, maybe there will be."

If there is no third choice, try making one.

The whole idea for that is maybe if we all stopped screaming obscenities and insults at each other, perhaps we'd get something better out of it.

For a semi-auto? A shitload. The slide being pushed out-of-battery by even an eight of an inch will do it (this already happened to MC when the Martian tried to cap him with his own pistol.) The round could be a dud, or a hang-fire, or have a light primer strike as >>17972082 points out, unfortunately the Walter is a double-action pistol so a second trigger pull would set THAT one to rights right quick. The hammer could get cloth snagged between it and the frame, preventing it from falling, the primer might be set just a little too deep into that particular round, ect, ect, ect.

They're all insane long-shots, though. And the MC isn't in physical contact with the pistol this time.
