"Hey. You know," Erica snuggles closer. "Instead of just sitting here, I can think of a couple of things that would be way more fun to do."
In the dim light you see Ursula blush a bit, but she too saddles up close to you.

"I've died and gone up to heaven.."

    ..................................
Morning. The sun shines though your windows.
In each arm is a girl more precious to you than anything you have right now.
You squeeze them tighter and closer to you.
    They do the same.

You guess you could afford to be late for class just this once.

Your first week at the Bureau went by like a blurr.
Academic classes interspersed with practical training occupied your time.
You also managed to sneak in some time to take some lessons from Ryuu and meet The Doctor for further tests.
    ..................
"You've improved a lot from our sparring lessons." Mike tells you.
"You can even manage to fight two of me at once."
The fights with Mike have improved your reflexes and fighting sense.
He even helped you to develop some new abilities to use with Kraus.

With Mike's help you are now able to use two new capabilities.

You can now access a state of invincibility, but only to the visible spectrum. It puts a huge strain on your majaikal reserves and such is only usable for a maximum of thirty minutes per day.

By tapping into both your bunny mode and time stop capabilities, you are now able to "teleport" to your allies. Maximum range of 500 meters. usable 5 times a day.

From Ryuu you learned to make the REBOUNDER.
A potion, that wehn applied to any surface allows it to act like a trampoline. No loss of momentum could be observed when bouncing off it.

he has also taught you the LUCKY LADY, a drink that when taken gives the user an aura of incredible luck. It's reality bending powers are too much that it only has an effect of 5 mins.
It can also only be drunk once a week.Since it draws from the creators own luck, the creator of the potion is ill advised to partake of it.

After learning 3 potions from Ryuu he gave you a gift.
"Hayate, you have advanced surprisingly fast in potion crafting. I have had very few students to do the same. And for that I give you this."
he hands you a simple silver flask.
"This flask can store 3 types of liquid in it at any one time. the maximum for each is a liter. To use, just think of the liquid you want to pour out and it will do just that."

    BUNNYMODE NOW LASTS 70 SECONDS.

    =======================
On the afternoon after your date with the twins you head down to the PX.

Inside the low squat building you find an array of equipment and supplies for Bureau operatives.
Some items are not for sale to trainees such as yourself. But bags of holding of all sorts of description are easily available.

"wait, don't you work in town?" you ask her.
"Ehehe..." she laughs nervously as she scratches her head. "that business kinda failed."
"Indeed. little miss CAKES and DURIAN here, managed to bankrupt a store in just a week." her fairy companion replies. "We have to work here until we can build up enough capital again to start a new store."

"Soo how much is this?" you ask her.
    "5guptas" she replies.
"I cant afford that." you retort.

Actually, if we had a sliding-rail electromagnet, and charged alternating barrels, it would actually work fine.

The only real thing stopping this is power supply and weight issues, as well as ammo capacity. But we have literal magic powers and canonical Hammer-space, so we're good.

The day before the extended rest period.
You invite your team and a few other friends for lunch.

In an unused classroom you converted into a replica of a Victorian dining room you reveal your identity and past.

you look around at thier reactions.
Elsie is crying openly inside Keima's PSP, while her partner is stoic as usual.
Gai sits quietly in his chair, his head low.
Ursula and Erica are beside you, holding your hands.
Shinku silently sips some tea, while Jun wipes 'something that got into his eye'.
Sakura is bawwwing, her tears unrestrained.
Amazoness also in tears tries to comfort her.
Next to Sakura, Nanoha grips her staff tightly with a shaking hand.
You reach out to the two youngest in the room
"Hey, It's all right. That's the past now. Don't concern yourselves too much with it."
Sakura throws you a smile, Nanoha still holds her staff tightly, but the shaking has ceased.

"Anyway." you continue "Looks at my new hat."
you take out your bowler hat / TIME SHENANIGANS EARLY WARNING DEVICE.
You then proceed to tell them about time travel and the dangers of paradoxes.
"...And so, if you guys see me wearing this hat, that means time shenanigans are afoot."
"You must not tell me youve seen me wear this hat. Nor must you tell me anything i did or say while wearing it."

"With the rest period coming up, I figured it would be a good time to go visit home. I don't know about the rest of you, but I wasn't exactly given the chance to pack. Maybe even make it a group thing, get to know each other better."

"In my case, it wouldn't really be a break but a rescue mission for the few items I need to retrieve before I can cut ties with that place forever. And I would be going head to head with the Yakuza with 150 million dollars on my head for the duration of the visit. I won't ask anyone to go with me, but I'd welcome the company."

It's not so much for the effectiveness, as much as it is for the awesome.

We have to consider that this is, at it's core a semi-magical girl setting.

    That means absurd weapons.

Luckily, we have an equation for determining the relative ludicrosity of a weapon.

    >L = (3A)(P/((SE)^(1/A)))

Where L=ludicrousness, A=absurdity (itself a complex equation involving size of weapon relative to wielder, number and importance of physical laws violated, number and complexity of alternate functions of the weapon, and a difficult-to-describe but easy-to-measure quality called "WTFitude"), P=power of weapon, S=size of wielder (or wielder's vehicle if it's vehicle-mounted), and E = size of enemy.

    >> Anonymous 02/24/12(Fri)10:15 No.18080985

Low-absurdity weapons tend to lose ludicrousness quickly when scaled up despite the increase in power, so while, say, a gatling assault rifle is fairly ludicrous for a human, it's pretty much normal on a 200-meter-tall mecha. High-absurdity weapons, however, don't lose much ludicrousness even when they're battlestar-scale. At very high absurdities, the increase in power when scaled up actually begins to outweigh the increase in size.

Raising Heart's absurdity and thus ludicrousness are reasonably high, but...the Rip You a New One V is a hand-held combination high-caliber gatling cannon and fully automatic multi-tube rocket launcher that plays the finale of the 1812 Overture when fired. That last bit puts the absurdity value so high that it'd have to be less powerful than a BB gun to have its ludicrousness equal Raising Heart's at human size, let alone Gundam size.

It is emphatically not less powerful than a BB gun.

The day before the extended rest period, at the end of classes.

Mike holds the class back a bit before dismissal to discuss something.

"Okay everyone, as your handlers may have informed you, you will have a 5 day rest period coming up."

"you will be given the chance to go back home if you wish. Stargate access will be available to all trainees through-out the vacation."

"you will be allowed to go to a Dimension that's not yours, providing that you will be accompanied by a native."

"Use of majaik infront of witnesses in dimensions where Majaik is not widespread knowledge is discouraged. Your devices will be monitored to look out for such incidents. If you are proven to have done so, and disrupted said dimension, you will be punished by the Bureau accordingly."

"To get back here you need only tell your Devices that you wish to do so. We will pull you in through the Stargate then."

"I hope you all enjoy your vacations, obey the guidelines and keep safe."

    Magical batteries?
Possible. but they will have to be recharged off your own supplies.
majaik isnt like electricity, you cant just plug into a wall and get some.

So to store some Majaik you will have to sacrifice the use of it, not to mention the inherent system loss/leakage

Ergo. you can pump magic into a necklace/locket for 2 days. in those two days, you will have no majaik. said stored majaik might only be good to double your combat capabilities, but it will depend on how good/well made the battery is.
They could also prove to be rare artifacts.

You are just a trainee afterall. even if the bureau had such artifacts, it doesnt mean they give them out at the drop of a hat.

That we intentionally and knowingly entered into a situation where majaik-use might be revealed to a witnesses from a world without majaik-knowledge, and dragged along an entire team with us. How do we justify Prime Directive-breaking trips just to recover an item of sentimental worth?

    okay quick outline.

    girls have magic.
    they fight aliens.

to fight aliens they use STRIKER UNITS.
basically magic engines strapped to thier legs.

It's set in an alt timeline ww2.
Some historical people are now female.
    CHUCK YEAGER, now charlotte yeager
    They use guns.
Sprout animal ears and tails when using magic.

oh and they dont wear pants.
[mostly for easier striker unit interface]
But the normal women seem to have taken it up as some sort of fashion statement.

Its basically CUTE GIRLS DOING CUTE THINGS WITH NO PANTS ON AND FIGHTIN ALIENS IN THE SKY

Unsure. your decisions tomorrow will solidify what canon i use.

[although an SWQ crossover would be hilarious]

The dimension the twins are from, the war has ended, they are rebuilding.
so it could be a spinoff of the true SW series, or a far flung conclusion for SWQ.

the couple of decisions tomorrow will indicate witch path you go down in.

Well, don't worry too much about which one you end up using.

Even though there's a Prime Branch of each Canon, the Anime and Manga areas of the Forest are unusually resilient when it comes to alternate timelines.

So we could end up in a SWQ-alternate-sub-beta timeline, that was the same as the main Strike Witches Quest timeline until the point when MC and his crew got the call about the invasion of England, and then diverged there somehow.

There was a general sentiment towards coming clean, just... not under those circumstances.

The original plan was to go dimension hopping as a team, bonding, and then the last stop was Hayate's. Everyone got a reminder that they had a nice life prior to this. Happy good times.... and then:

    >Bike.
    >Summary of life to date, LOOKING LIKE A CHILD ON CHRISTMAS THAT WE GOT OUR BIKE BACK IT WAS OUR ONLY FRIEND!
    >Why's everybody crying?

Then there was tell everybody because the deserve to know, then down-play that shit in favor of the TIME TRAVELIN' HAT.
