After going on an INCREDIBLY AWKWARD APC ride back to Police HQ, Dan signed his police statement, updated his metahuman registration, then went wandering for food, and found a new detective friend to talk to. After that, he was debriefed by detectives Howard and Philips, and also had a nice chat with Gespenst the German Lich's skull, and found out he was crazy and believed in Atlantis and Serpentmen. Then bad stuff.

Howard and Philips rush out the door, blowing past Ashwood and is lawyer. Acting fast, you scoop the skull off the table in the conference room, give it an under-hand pass to Ashwood, who catches it, then go tearing out of the room after the detectives. You catch up to them in the bullpen, as they're getting into full gear, coats, vests, guns, badges, car keys. As you skid to a halt you can also see Detective Philips pulling a long item wrapped in brown sack-cloth, maybe four feet long, from under her desk.

"So, this is bad, right?" You ask. "Yes." Is the response you get. "Okay, like, how bad? Do I want to leave town? The country? Do I need to go to space?" This question actually stops them, and now you're pretty sure that Philips long object is a longsword. "Okay, lemme give you the short version," Says Howard. "The Black Rock Box is a pre-human artifact. If Red knows how to use it, she can operate it as a beacon, to contact her patron's home universe, basically skip the steps in ritual summoning requiring the giant circles in the earth and the dozens of cultists chanting. It's a focus." Philips interjects, "But it's not set for one Outsider. She'd need to know what configuration to put it in. And she'd still need the power to bridge the gap."

You nod, taking this in. "What can I do to help?" You say, as they start walking fast to the elevators, to go down to the parking garage. "Listen kid," Says Howard, "You done enough tonight. We're gonna go to the museum and see if the fucker's actually stolen. From there, we'll probably need to wait until morning to check with the Arcanomath professor on Campus, see if any of their students could operate the box. You should go home, get a good night's sleep, so you can look out for you and yours." The elevator door closes at this point, leaving you wondering what exactly to do next.

"Okay. Is there a question in there? Because I don't mean to sound rude, but its night time, and I need to get up early on the weekdays. Sounds to me like you've got all the info." "Yeah, but this is bad, right? Like really bad?" You reply, trying not to sound too freaked out. "It's not that bad." He says. He pauses for a second, then continues. "Okay, on a normal scale, it's pretty bad. But on the supernatural scale, its less bad than you'd think. The box is a shortcut, apparently. Reduces ritual casting time and other requirements. But she still needs major mojo to pull even a piece of that thing through. More mojo than single human being could muster on their own without turning into a pillar of salt, or something. You can cut down on the requirements when doing it when the barriers between worlds are weak. Closest thing that would be is a couple nights from now, they'll be a total lunar eclipse that will intersect with midnight. This is a significant time, I know almost every Arcanist and Magister on this coast are saving their best tricks for that night. But she still needs the power source, even if its easier. Plus, the detectives told you, they don't know if she can operate it." He pauses. "I think this is a little over your head, grasshopper. I'd do like they say, grab some dinner, and get a full night's sleep, wait until daylight. Everything from spookytown is weaker in daylight. Since I know it'll make you feel better, I'm gonna hop on over to the Museum, and help out those detectives. At the very least, I can help them talk to Professor Ellsworth before tomorrow morning." He hangs up.

"Yeah, run me down to the monorail, so I can go home. I'd ask to just go on back to the dorms, but that's like the complete opposite direction from the Airport." You say. Ashwood nods. "Alright, if you have everything, we'll just get going. All due respect to the constabulary, but I don't feel welcome here. I don't know if its the money or the metahuman ancestry, but I'd like to take my leave. Mr. Graves has the limo out front." You nod in turn, and follow Ashwood back to the lobby.

As you get ready to go down the steps, a voice calls out. You turn to find the captain there. She holds out a credit chip. "Here. Much as I don't approve of amateurs, the Mayor and the Commissioner prefer it if we encourage people like you to keep helping when you do. Here's 500 cash, for Miles Malek. Word came down the tubes, he's from Chicago, tried to zombify a T-Rex skeleton after breaking into another Museum. He failed, so he came here to get some better juju. He's awake and copping to the whole thing now, and the Wolf Girl has agreed to flip on him if we just kick her out of the country and never let her back." You take the chip, and pocket it. "Thanks, Captain." "Don't thank me, kid." She says, as she turns to walk away. "I don't make policy, I just follow it."

You shoot O'neal back a text, then put your phone back away, then follow Ashwood down the steps to the ground level, then out onto the street, where a limousine is parked, engine on, Driver standing by. He opens the passenger door, allowing you and Ashwood to get in the main section, with Mr. Graves.

Ashwood immediately opens up the bar inside, and starts checking the stock. "After a night like this, I think a good stiff medicinal drink is in order." He looks up at you. and just because Dan doesn't smoke now doesn't mean he can't pick up the habit. It's just as likely he doesn't do it because the only affordable cigars are the ones that taste like cardboard. Or perhaps he's just never had one offered to him before. College is a time of change and experimentation.

(I know exactly Jack and Shit about Alcohol, but I know which drinks are sufficiently British for a member of the aristocracy to keep in his limo.)

You take a Gin and Tonic, remembering that those are good in warmer months. Graves declines, though a skull in a bag recommends Schnapps until it is thumped with an elbow. Ashwood sets about making the drinks, while you pick up the catalog, and begin to peruse it.

It's a mail-order catalog, advertising all the usual amazement and excitement within its pages. You've heard Wayland and Utani mentioned before, and know that Professor Wayland, head of the Metascience dept has a stake in it, or is some how related. It is usually described as a regular modern Sears-Roebuck. It starts off with the normal mail order shit for nerds and survivalists. Tolkienian cutlery, multitools, utility lights, hiking backpacks, fancy gun holsters, tactical bacon, MREs, etc. Then it gets weirder. It starts offering military and police surplus, from body armor to riot shields, along with stun-guns, handcuffs, pepper sprays. Some of this stuff is made by Wayland-Utani, others only sold through them.

Before you can get any farther, Ashwood hands you your drink. You accept it with thanks, and start drinking. Before you can find your place in the catalog again, the limo pulls to a stop, and the driver announces, "The Monorail line, sir."

You finish the G&T, and hold up the Catalog so Ashwood can see. "Can I borrow this?" You ask. He waves a hand dismissively. "Of course. I've ordered everything I need out of it. New one'll be out soon enough anyway. In fact," He pauses, and fishes around, until he pulls out one of those key-chain membership card things and tosses it to you. "Got a couple of these with my last order. Free trial membership card. Good for 6 months. Gives you the member's discount and lets you earn points to get certain items no extra cost." You examine the card, then pocket it. "Thanks, Ashwood." You close the door, and get on the monorail headed back to Campus.

As you ride the monorail back to the University, you flip more through the catalog, noticing for the first time the way it is categorized. Mundane up front, followed by Surplus, then Superscience, Anachronism, Occult, Magitek and Exotic.

Flipping through W&U, you find all manner of things, some of which you're sure cant be legal. A man-portable railgun which runs on D batteries (Woops, that's half a dozen D Batteries. Per shot. Ammunition sold separately), focused speakers for psiops shit, along with CDs of "Worst Music Ever". You find Alchemical potions, custom ordered ammunition made of silver, meteoric iron, jacketed with gold, or radium, or even more exotic, like bullets which are actual gel laced with curare, or fire darts made with a solution from a lightning-split oak tree. T-Ray glasses (emitter sold separately), you're very own pair of Hydrogen and Anti-Hydrogen atoms, modern english translations of a number of occult books (Including some of the fun ones). Even weirder, it seems like Wayland-Utani can deal in metahuman enhancement technology, offering several canned gene therapy or chemical treatments, cyber and bioware augmentations, and a service to find doctors to install your enhancements. Apparently its pretty much the magazine for members of the greater metahuman community.

You're back on Campus now. Since its edging near 10, the food court wont be open. You'll have to either try and dig something out of the fridge back at the dorm, or walk off campus again.

I think we should keep our friends in the loop. Not right now, though. Later, during the day, when people are awake. After all, if we're not going to chat with our friends about what we've been involved in lately, what's the point in even having friends? We will, though, downplay the danger we were in. We don't want our friends freaking out about how we could have been killed.

Oh, and let's make sure to go free running again tomorrow afternoon.
    >> Omega !Q7t.srvWZ6 03/02/12(Fri)18:29 No.18179158

Nope, not even in Exotic. The catalog sells Amaze Co. Labs products, but the Psi Program modules appear to be an off-world thing only, where there is a shitload more demand.

The Gene Mods are exorbitantly expensive, for Dan. The cheapest, with his Members discount is basically "Fix your own genome" (Which cleans up random genetic errors by wear and tear, and reduces the presence of genetic defects and diseases over a number of years) is 4 Wealth points. The cool stuff, like "Become an Olympic Athlete" or "Become World Chess Champion" are like 8. With discount. Not counting the fees the doctor would charge to legally boost you with the stuff in a safe environment.

You guys are going to have to narrow the field on helmets. They have riot helmets, ballistic helmets, WWI tin-hats, medieval plate helms made from modern steel.

Yeah, we should do that at some point. We could have stolen some from the Cyrean weapons at the museum, but nobody thought of that until it was too late. Not that it matters much, since a huge portion of the thread was yelling not to steal things from the museum at the time anyway. I agree, though. We should try to get some better batteries when we can afford them. I don't think $500 is enough to afford them, though.
    >> Omega !Q7t.srvWZ6 03/02/12(Fri)18:42 No.18179277

There are no Cyrean helmets, or ones made using their technology. Mostly because they took all of the tech they use to make it back with them, or it has been co-opted by governments for study. Or left in the burned out ruins of their stuff. Earth shot down some Cyrean vessels, most of which landed in the ocean. Want to go deep sea scavenging?

You can get a ballistic helmet, like what militaries, counter-terror and SWAT use. The counterpart to Kevlar vests which have the ceramic or steel plates sown in the pockets. HAR 1. Normally I'd take a point of Wealth for this, but the membership discount makes it negligable enough that I wouldn't count it.

Quoting from way back in thread 4.5

    >"Well, if you just want to run the ICE," She taps the engine block. "Some of those new High-Capacity Capacitor batteries would be nice. I think brand new ones this size are pretty expensive, but would last 40-50 years. Or, you could get some similar sized ones from a few generations ago, which will last us like 10 years." She pauses to consider, and also to chuck the second battery into the pile. "Now, if you want to switch to electric, which I've seen some done on the internet, most efficient would be to build a microfusion plant. At this size you could build a much smaller reactor to power all this, which cuts down on the risk of critical damage to the power source. That'll require you to buy a permit though. Federal one too, since you want to take it across state lines. If you don't mind the size though, you could get a fuel cell like most people are using these days. Fuel cost is the same, hydrogen." She pops some more parts out then looks over her shoulder at you. "Here, give me a hand pulling out the engine block." You do so, and set it on one of the sides of the crate.

Having eaten, showered, and changed, you settle down at your computer to do some research. You want to bone up on your rituals before your next tangle with red. But first, you decide to look up Adam Doe.

    (2x10 and 3x7 on Research)

After some googling, and narrowing your google searches, you find a little about Adam Doe. Judging from his Social Media presence, he lives in an apartment above an electronics store in the Shopping District. His day job is as a bike messenger, and the rest of the time he spends moderating and managing the electronics store's website and forums, under the handle "Longsword". You also know he's in the Metahuman Registry Database, which means he has stuff going for him people need to be aware of, but can't just pull the specifics off the internet. Some stuff from his high school yearbook notes that he was on the fencing team.

(3x1 and 3x9 on Research for rituals)

Now you turn an eye toward Ritual magic. After cross-referencing a couple sources, including the Universities own databases, you synthesis some information and draw some conclusions on Wards. First, there are two kinds, temporary and permanent. Temporary can last from hours to days depending on how you do it, Permanent will last for as long as the array you use is unbroken. And since for it to be permanent, you have to make the symbol out of something permanent, like make silver sigils or golden pentacles. For temporary, what you'd have to do is either draw one big circle, or arrange warding symbols in a mostly circular pattern around the zone you want warded. You tie it to a central symbol in the dead center, and to the ritual from there. Any kind of mark will do, but they recommend something semi-permanent, so it doesn't rub off easy. How long it lasts depends on what you make it do. Simple alarms will last a number of days before wearing off. Stronger stuff, like the kind that bites back when someone spooky or unauthorized tries to cross the line may last days, unless it trips.

(You've got enough on the Research to look up another kind of Ritual with the same roll)
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:11 No.18180080
Perhaps something more specific to outsiders? It's not going to help much if Syrpent just walks up and warps our circle so badly out of shape that it stops working - or something similarly mind bending.
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:12 No.18180094
Hmmm, I kinda want to set up some temporary wards in the apartment for practice. One that sends us a mental ping of someone unauthorized enters and another that hits someone right in the Willpower if they're unauthorized and fail a Stability check. This is more practice for some theoretical later date where we would set up permanent ones, rather than anything else. We can use printer paper, a sharpie, and some tape to put up some ward sigils around the place, right?

Anyway, as for other ritual types... Hmmm... I dunno, could we do something like do a ritual that makes our ghostknife cut magic or something? Something that lets it cut through magical barriers as easily as it cuts through physical ones?
    >> El_Nazgir 03/02/12(Fri)20:13 No.18180103
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:14 No.18180113
The nice thing about wards is that you can always build them up more.
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:15 No.18180118

Research some general ability enhancer or luck magic ritual.

Ideally something quick we can do every day that would boost our chances of not dying.
    >> Omega !Q7t.srvWZ6 03/02/12(Fri)20:17 No.18180136

Mechanically, wards work normally as, "draw stuff, spend willpower, roll". In the case of a basic alarm kind of thing, its just the 1 WP to start with, and you roll Mind+Occult, and it lasts width days (Height will matter for detection and dispelling) +1 additional day for each extra WP you spend.

If you want to have it drain WP, same thing, only the check you roll on Occult is what the person crossing it has to beat with their Stability. The amount of WP you put into it is how much they loose if they don't make the check.

If you want to learn an Item Enchantment ritual, that can be your other one.
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:20 No.18180165
Let's definitely go for an alarm ward that bites a person's willpower. That sounds like it would be easy, good practice, and simple to change/refresh/upgrade as needed. Even if nobody ends up ever tripping it, it should be good Occult practice.
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:21 No.18180178

In addition to the normal magic array to do the enchanting, you'll also need an item to enchant (duh), you'll need to use some of your incense up, or get some candles or something, and you'll need a medium do put the enchantment in. Some kind of oil or powder you can put the weapon in or put on the item, something you can draw symbols on it. If you you had the right knowledge or occupation skill, you could do the enchantment as you made an item, which is how Magic people normally enchant stuff.

This means spending wealth, doing favors, or putting up with shoddy temporary enchantments.

    >Can we combine Enchantment with our Evocation abilities?

Yes, you can use magic you know to create the enchantment. Like Fire magic to give your knife the "Burn" quality, or something. Still need the medium.

Lets just learn the ritual for now.

    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:38 No.18180315
Hmm, that seems like an awful lot of effort for not much benefit.
I'd much rather get Enchant as a spell or something else we can do on the fly, even if it would be less powerful and/or shorter duration.
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:39 No.18180317
    Yes. Time to sleep.
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:39 No.18180319
Yeah, let's learn the ritual, even if we won't be using it any time soon, and then get to work on some temporary wards. My vote for an enchantment, if we make one, is getting some blue, white, and brown hemp threads and doing some careful weaving/knotwork to make ourselves some Air-enchanted laces which negate fall damage.

Intricate, colourful knotwork would be an appropriate medium for enchanting-while-crafting, right?
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:39 No.18180320
Neat. Let's make a levitating notebook.
    >> Omega !Q7t.srvWZ6 03/02/12(Fri)20:44 No.18180372

I guess. If the knot work was special in some way. Like, you made the strings in arcane symbols, or wrote "abracadabra" in knot-language, or something. Or the dyes were designed to hold the magic.
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:46 No.18180399
Fantastic, so we just need to plan out what the design will be in advance so that it will feature arcane symbols. Let's set up a really basic ward, one that will just wake us up if someone unauthorized comes in, and then go to sleep. After the night we had, we don't want to get ambushed in our sleep by any baddies. Tomorrow, we can get some thin hemp cords and make better wards and talk to our friends and order our helmet and get a big breakfast and stuff.

You can make some pretty amazing patterns using various knots, thread colours, and pre-planning if you have sufficient patience to actually do all the knotting. It's even easier with some tiny, tiny beads.
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:55 No.18180491
Then let's do the printer-paper-tapey option. Also, explain that they're only temporary, if he asks. Otherwise you would be using the sharpie on the wall itself.

    >sufficient patience to actually do all the knotting
This is my only problem with the plan. The world's going to potentially end in three days and we're going to spend several hours knitting rainbow shoelaces?
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)20:59 No.18180530
It's the sort of thing you can do while you're out and about, like the people who knit while waiting for the bus or in class. It's also something you can easily stuff in a pocket and continue later. It takes a while to do, but not necessarily in a single sitting - unless, of course, the ritual requires it to all be in the same sitting. If it does, then I agree, we should only do this if we somehow find ourselves with a few hours of free time. If not, then we can just do it over the next day or two whenever our hands aren't being occupied.

Nope. The actual ritual to make it magic will take you ten minutes, but building the medium to hold the enchantment can be done any time. Making it yourself is also a step to a permanent enchantment.

    (1 WP Spent)
(2x6 on Knowledge (Occult), so the ward will hold for 48 hours)

You go around the dorm, placing sharpied arcane symbols at regular intervals. When queried on what you are doing, you simply say "Wizard things". And Dave raises no more objections. Cheryl tries to ask questions, but Dave shushes her. Apparently he knows a thing or three about wizard things.

Also, a question, does willpower regenerate over time even if we don't pursue our Passions?
    >> Anonymous 03/02/12(Fri)21:10 No.18180642
Well then, tomorrow, after a big fucking breakfast, let's stop by a hobby shop and get a small spool of white, a small spool of blue, and a small spool of un-dyed thin hemp cords. Shouldn't cost more than a few dollars. Then we can start doing the knotwork. We should reasonably be able to finish the thing in a single day just by working on it while our hands are free, like on the subway and such. Once we do that, we do a ritual to hook it up with some Air Evocation to cushion our landings. If we have feather fall shoelaces, we'll need to worry about fucking up with parkour a lot less.
I think we set up a simple ping ward, since we only spent one willpower.

    Sleepy time.
    You dream.

You're running naked through a desert of red rock, the color of rust. Or blood. The sky is red too, but not blood red. It is eternally the crimson of a sunset. In the distance, through the thin atmosphere, and the reddish-brown clouds of dust lingering in the air, you see the stars, shining red, each one a world it has taken. You run from it hunted, knowing the Lord of Blood, King of Crimson will take you. He will take your blood, take your heart and soul, then take your world, adding it to the dominion within him. You cannot see him, but you know he is behind. You duck behind a massive red rock mesa, and try and catch your breath, the very air singeing your skin, making you feel burned to the bones. You edge around the side of the mesa, hoping to find a crevasse or a gully to hide in. Suddenly, he is there! A whirling maelstrom of blood, a flying cloud of red with a central slit eye, staring deep into your very soul." ZUUL, MOTHERFUCKER, ZUUL!" It shouts into your mind, and extends its terrible tendrils to drink the life from you.

Your clock alarm is going off. It rouses you from an unsettling sleep, filled with vaguely remembered dreams. It is now 8 AM on Monday morning.

You go to the cafeteria. They serve breakfast. Okay, so your choice is between military style, where all the shit was prepackaged and prepared just now, or the handful of fast food restaurants. Since you want actual food, you use the cafeteria. You bring your own cup of coffee though. You had cafeteria coffee once. Those were dark days.

Only use free weights. Get some advice on proper stance when doing things like squats and deadlifts.
Do not overwork yourself for your first session. Do this in moderation or you'll injure yourself.

You remember that Johnny was actually planning on getting back to his own dorm today. But now you're wondering what he'll do with the Hammer then. Just then, your phone rings. It is Johnny, oddly enough. "Hey, O' fearless leader." He says. He's only mocking you a little. "What is it?" You respond, acting all cold and managerial, to get back at his snark. "So, our new bucket of bolts, which I painted, BTW, is apparently street legal. Which will save us both a whole lot of time hauling it back to campus." You nod into the phone. "Okay, so bring it on back. One of the lab buildings has those storage rooms and workshops. I'll get Roxane to open one up and will stash it there." "Yeah, small problem, chief. My leg is still pretty bad? I'm not supposed to put a lot of weight on it yet. Hence the cane. And the Hammer has pedals and levers." You think you grasp what Johnny is getting at, but you spell it out to make sure. "So, you want to go on a leisurely ride through the Monorail back to campus. While *I* have to ride out to the suburbs. Learn how to drive a set of Power Armor from the Korean War, and take the long way around through the streets and get it on Campus?" "That about sums it up."

"I'll do it." You say. "But only because I get to drive a giant robot." "That's my boy." Johnny hangs up. You dial Roxane, hoping that by 9:30 on a Monday, she is awake and functional. You pull out a hands free set so you may continue to do knots while talking.

"*Yawn*, 'Morning Dan." Comes over the line. "Good morning, Roxy." You say cheerily. "Does this have to do with how you had a fight in a museum last night, or something else." You skip a beat, totally fucking up one of the knots. You hastily undo it while you ask "How do you know about that?" "It was on the 11 o'clock news. You were blurred again, or on shitty security camera footage, but I could tell it was you." She pauses for a second, as if trying to remember something. "Hey, did a cat girl shoot at you with an assault rifle?" "Wolf-girl, and it was a machine gun. And she didn't just shoot at me, a couple rounds bounced off my armor. Left some nasty scuff marks I need to buff out." "Oh, hey!" She says "The Engineering and Chemistry departments got together last summer, and whipped up some amazing stuff. Takes the scuffs and scratches out of all kinds of things, and also makes it shine. It'll clear those scuffs right off." You bob you head a little, smiling and nodding even though she can't see you. Maybe you can do that while the Hammer is being stashed. "I use it on my hair, actually. Really brings up that natural shine." You're glad you don't drink things when making causal conversation with Roxane. It'll take a while before you get used to the stuff she just blurts out because she forgot to disconnect her brain from her mouth.

"Right, anyway, so Johnny needs me to pick up the Hammer, because his leg is still bad, and he can't work the foot-pedals properly, since he needs to stand up." You say, steering the conversation back in the direction you want. "Okay. Well, you know how to operate it, right?" "Err, sort of? There are only so many controls, right?" She sighs. "Okay, get some paper, or something, I'll tell you how to make a cheat sheet." "Hands are busy." You say. "Doing what?" She asks, a little skeptical. "+1 Shoelaces of Feather Fall." You say, with your straightest face. She pauses for a second. Then comments, more to herself, than anyone. "Wizard one night, and he's already making magical knickknacks."

After getting finishing off a section of knot-work, you write down a cheat sheet as per Roxane's instructions, so you at least know which pedal is slow down, which is go fast, and which ones are 'do a sweep kick'.

"Right, got all that down." You say. "Good," she replies. "Try be careful in traffic. Remember to use the proper hand signals. The whole 'Power Armor' is street legal thing is a technicality, anyway. And it only works on roads where you can make it to at least the speed limit." She says. You pause for a second. "What is the land speed of a Mk I Power Armor suit?" You ask. "Normally? Like, 25. On a slight downward grade. I made some modification and repair to the engine with modern parts, so your maximum speed is going to be about 35." You sigh. "The long way around it is." You change the subject. "Anyway, remember to get a storage unit ready. We can make any more modifications there." "Yeah, yeah, I remember. Your phone will have terrible reception in the can, so remember to turn on your radio, and leave it on the station. I can call you with the number using some of my old radio equipment." Right. Radios. The Hammer has a set installed which Roxane checked, because in a combat situation there's no other way in hell for the pilot to hear anything, encased in a laminated steel can with a truck engine strapped to its back.

You flick on the RADAR, which boots up on a little screen Roxy added to the sensor interface, next to the camera feed. You let it run a couple of sweeps, while you unhook the radio and turn that on. You find some solid enough objects to be people in some of the work spaces, dialing up and down the resolution on the radar image. Then you switch it to the first person view, which narrows your field, detecting some people shaped objects in workshop 825. You dial the resolution as high as it will go, and hope nobody inside that workshop has any fillings. You think one of them is wearing a top hat.

You speak into the Radio. "Hey Roxy." "Dan! Where have you been? You forgot to turn on the radio, so we were-" You cut her off. "Just wanted to let you know, the RADAR works." In the confines of your suit of armor, you grin your best troll grin. What better way to start your day?

Wild Talents is ORE based, as I understand. There's also, I understand, several ORE based games, and I'm curious if there's a "best" one.

I know, I'm saying that this is specifically based on the Wild Talents ORE. That said, the common opinion is that Reign is the most polished version of ORE. This is likely due to the fact that it's the newest. Other interesting ones are Monsters and Other Childish Things and A Dirty World.

I think that a faceplate would offer literally no protection, since it leaves basically your entire skull exposed.

How difficult would it be to make a spell that would provide comparable protection to a ballisitics helmet?

I think it would require learning an entirely new school of magic since we don't actually operate on spells. The only 'spells' we know are rituals, which require a long time to set up. As such, we would have to learn an entire new school of magic to gain that new effect.

Oh, yeah, I was already aware Omega's using Wild Talents as the basis for the quest.

I guess it could negate called shots to the face?
    >> Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)02:05 No.18183890
There are no called shots to the face. Only x10 shots to the head.

    >Would it be possible to set up multiple overlapping wards over time?

Yeah, sure, if you want to spend the willpower.

    >When is the next meeting with the Evoker's Club?

    >Would a faceplate offer the same protection as a helmet mechanically? If not, how would it differ?

Nope. Well, actually, technically yes, since it would offer LAR like a lot of helmets, but it would be very low. Like, LAR 1 or 2 no matter what you do, unless you've got like a welding mask on.

    >How would you describe Roxxy's ass?

My ass vocabulary is limited. Uh... superlative?

So a face plat would offer LAR 1 compared to the ballistic helmet's HAR 1?

Yeah. LAR 1 means it drops all Shock damage to 1, and converts one Killing to Shock. So bullets still kill you.
    >> Anonymous 03/03/12(Sat)02:14 No.18184011
And what would HAR 1 do, negate all shock and negate one killing?
