The writing isn't bad, but it's not really compelling or updated quickly enough to carry the entire thing without the comic aspects of it.

    Now then.

It is night time, and the festival has begun. The food is delicious, and the moonshine goes down smooth. You seated the Archons and Daemons are at different tables, and you aren't certain if they will have noticed one another yet. The mushroom and Cwoc soup is the first course, and seems to suitably impress everyone involved.

A band composed of a few Daemons on strings, Wight Foots playing pipes and jugs, and Men playing drums start up and take requests. As the night drags on a few people begin singing, and eventually people begin to itch to dance.

    Interesting.

It's quickly apparent that while you aren't a terrible dancer you certainly are not the best in show.

Countess Whisper manages to take over her corner of the floor to everyone's shock, Alice has two left feet, Halston and Liam aren't bad but aren't any better than you. Joshua is, of course, good as well. Abigail is stunningly good, on par with Whisper, but hot on their heels is one of the lady Archons!

The process was clearly intended to preserve the secrets of the Khan's army in case of his capture and interrogation, but that isn't what doesn't make sense. Look at their airforce, ten knights on dwagons with maybe thirty additional flying mount units all in one stack. The idea that they would spare flying mounts when they can just send a land based rider at less expense while preserving their aerial assets is strange to me. Of the problems that Whisper has identified here, it seems to me that the easiest to move on is probably the Archons. They're around, and we have at least one of them identified as a good person to pump for information through solid date-a-mantic methods; we had only a single dance with her and she was talking quite a bit. Let's push that connection further post-dance, talk with her more, maybe have her sleep with us and then keep her behind while ordering the other Archons off- they'll assume it's for sentimental reasons after that, but we'll have her easily on hand to talk to and keep casually squeezing for more info.

Moving on the demons will require more delicacy since they're our natural allies and I think only Abigail is likely to really know everything that's going on with them, but hopefully Whisper can make a bit more progress on that front- and maybe the Archons will spill some information that will give us something to use to crack open Abigail.

    "Woohoo!"

    "Yeah!"

Your world is colored by mojo, and you suspect that hers is colored by the same thing and then obscured by the fog of extremely powerful bathtub liquor.

    "You're having fun right?"

"Oh yeah, I'm having such a good night!"

"That's awesome, and I find this whole thing totally groovy. You're so easy to have fun with, not like your sisters at all, they're so uptight, they just need to loosen up."

You hope the effects of whatever this is aren't permanent.

    "I know right?"

You finally manage to get her alone.

"Now what's got them so cagey tonight love?"

"Oh, they're just feeling tense about the missions we've been running, ya know?"

"Well not really, but I'd love to hear all about it love."

The power of Mojo easily swamps any Duty or Obedience based inhibitions she might have, but mostly because she's quite drunk.

"Well, he had us covering up evidence."

    "Did he know?"

    "Mhm."

    She hiccups slightly.

    "Evidence of what?"

"The people who hired us before. Some Chieftains that worked for the Khan before he managed to really get his conquest rolling."

    "You helped him earlier?"

"Like, fifty turns ago, yah. He had us taking out tough units for him before he had built up his army to the degree he was hoping to. We blew up threats so he had time to build up."

"So why are you working against him now?"

"Charlie's rule number three, we are in the business of solving problems for our clients, but sometimes we have to, like, create problems first."

"I see. Well you're telling me this is most groovy, you're very good at what you do baby. Have you been at it for a while?"

"Uh huh. Not as long as some of the other girls though."

"Oh, so you weren't here for that whole Rigger thing."

"No, it's so frustrating, but apparently it was a big deal for us back then. I'm not sure why, I mean they were just some random side that liked to pull strings."

    "What kind of strings baby?"

    "I don't know."

It appears that both Doomenor and the Khan booped up hard this turn. The Khan proceeded to fumble by committing to a cavalry maneuver that doesn't appear to have been a trap, and the Doomenorians assumed it was a trap and went around them for some reason.

Additionally yet another side has joined the plethora of sides that take their turn before you, a huge stack of Blue Dwagons, Pegasaur riders, and Orlies are approaching from the south. You think it might be coalition reinforcements... yes, Smythe has spotted the Queen in the stack!

Cannon fodder, he expects them to form a wall of bwisp between us and the dragon.

    It's not a bad plan.

But Bwisps are weakling scout units, not cannon fodder. No matter how many of them we have they'll be practically useless in battle unless we stack an absurd number of bonuses on them- and we don't have an absurd number of bonuses to hit them with.

A normal warlord bonus makes them fight like basic infantry. That's enough for them to serve as a shield/distraction while we capture the Dwagon.

No. We don't need basic infantry and we don't need Frank acting as a tank. They aren't bats, they're bwisps. We have an air force and we're going to use it.

So your alternative to my plan that's done in two turns is a corollary that sends away our entire air force for four turns when the khan's airforce will take less time than that to reach us?

No. We have more than enough with Frank, Whisper, archers, 3 gwiffons, a megalogwiffon, archons, and demons. It'll be hard not to accidentally croak it rather than capture it.

We're going without the Daemons, just the Bwisps and whoever we mount on Gwiffons with us on the Megalogwiff. We have over 40 move. The Daemons and Archons have less than 30 move.

and again, that's a fucking terrible idea. Demons have natural turnamancy and you're putting Frank into danger with nothing but bwisps to protect him. You're going to end the game.

The Daemons arrive the next Turn after we've subdued it or brought it back to our place. Besides we can upgrade the Bwisps to Heavies if we need to.

You're going to end the game by committing our airforce to not intercepting the incoming enemy stack.

no I'm not. We can get back next turn with taking demons. We need them in the battle to turn the dwagon. It's just like when we captured the megalogwiffen. Frank can't take a dwagon no matter how many bwisps you stack him with. Upgrading them to heavies just makes them cost more, it doesn't make them fight better. They have a combat of 1. Archons have foolamancy, demons have turnamancy.

The bats lost to 30+ Dwagons with Leadership Bonuses, stack bonuses, KISS knights using dance fighting, and Stanley with the Arkenhammer with huge ass bonuses on top of that.

We have no confirmation that Bwisps aren't like anyway bats. Bats are weaker than infantry, so are Bwisps, and they're both crazy cheap.

    I'm done for tonight.

I take the time out of my evenings to provide you with a fun game to play. I do not come to be dictated to by players ordering me to resolve their disputes with one another in the way they want them to be resolved. If you want to ask me something that's cool. If you really, really are lost I might toss you hints or try and prod you along into doing something or other, but I do not sit for this kind of thing at the gaming table when I GM anything, not for my friends, and not for strangers over the internet. If my players cannot resolve things between themselves without making petulant demands of me then I am done.

This guy is being petulant and argumentative. but he does have a point we have a real dispute about the rules and what could work and if you answer the question of FACT one way or the other i bet the side that has the wrong understanding will back down just like most of the arguments that you actually clarified the rules on. Plus most of the arguments have been because one or possibly all people aren’t on the same page rules wise. There is only 1 thing I saw that was a real dispute on tactics not what fundamentally how the rules work.

if you do throw up your hands at this would you be ok is someone else ran a similar game possibly with your rules?
