Majaik, elegance, and an angry teaset. We have it all.

Mike lets you all into the gym at 1400.
He begins to explain the tests.

"You and a randomly chosen partner will be assigned to run through any one case simulations I have selected. Complete all objectives given to you and you will have cleared the simulation."
    He then begins assigning pairs.
As you wait for your name to be called, you mentillate Erica.
'Hey, want to make a bet?'
    'Sure. What kind of bet?'
'If one of us fails to complete the simulation, they lose. Loser has to wear an outfit picked by the winner for 3 days. Deal?'
'Deal.' She answers you wit ha mental smirk.

"Hartmann, You go with Emiya." Mike says.
'OH GODDAMMIT!' Erica says loudly in your mind.
'I'll make sure to pick a good outfit for you.' You tell her.
    And then you were called.
    "Ayasaki, pair up with Katsura."
'I leave myself in your care.' you tell Hina mentally.
She doesn't reply but simply walks up to you.

Once everyone has joined up with their partner, Mike started the simulations.

I honestly think Mike didn't do this randomly. He set us up with Hina, then randomed everyone else. It all looks random enough, but Mike is a sly one like that.

The gym desintegrates, you and Hina find yourselves standing in an immense sea of darkness.
You hear Mike in your head.
"Here's the situation. A rouge magos has captured 24 children and plans to use them as human sacrifices in a forest."
"Your mission is to rescue the children and if possible, apprehend or defeat the magos."
He explains to the two of you.
"You will be inserted at the edge of the treeline, scanning equipment and other majaikal means of detection does not work within the trees for reason yet unknown."
"Your opponent is a summoner type, but not much more other than that is known about him."
"If you are unable to save all the children, it will result in failure. If you are 'killed', it also means failure."
"Keep your guard up and good luck to the two of you."

The darkness melts away to reveal a forest at night.

#1 priority is to, as soon as we see the children, get them out of there using tea cups. Let's bring out Jakob and tiny-Ted to have them start scouting. We have a lot of ground to cover, and some tiny spies could be very useful.

So I assume invisibility is the order of the day?
Then when we get near the kids have Hina hold his attention as much as possible while we time stop bunnymode and leg it with the kids.

Then once the kids are safe go back to see if we can support Hina and win the fight or just gtfo

Tiny Ted? HELL NO! We have a dapper T-Rex friend. We need him at full size, so we can ride him while sipping tea and shooting our explosive paintballs.
Basically, Ted needs to become this. We're up against a tentacledickrapest wizard, we need to bring out the big guns.

A full moon shines down on a sea of naked trees.
Dry leaves crunch under your feet as you carefully walk in with Hina at your side.

    You consider your options.
With rescuing the children a priority, you will have to be stealthy to avoid as much combat as possible.
You can let your familiars aid you in the search, but are unsure if you would risk them, and if the added numbers would alert the enemy mage to your position.

You and Hina can split up, but with the opponent being a summoner, you dont know if going solo would be the best resort.

We keep our somkescreen up to cover all the area we've gone through and a large patch of forest around it. Jakob, I'll bet he has a pretty good sense of direction, and can move quietly enough through a forest on his own. If the children aren't all grouped together, as we come across and free them we can have Jakob escort them back to the edge of the forest.

"Do not approach them." you order your familiars as they show you the children just standing around looking scared under some trees.
"Move and look for more children, note their locations, and try to find a pattern if possible. Keep hidden." you order them.

Moments later you and Hina spot a boy and a girl in a small clearing.
The girl is crying and the boy, while trying to look brave, also seems to be on the verge of tears.

This, but send a saucer or 2 to T&B. There's too many kids to simply carry. They can load up the saucer with kids cause that's less scary than riding a TRex.

Yea, we can extract the inner circle ourselves. It's a shorter distance, and we should have a good idea where they might be by now.

"JAKOB, TED. NOW!" you order your familiars as you freeze time.

    [80 secs]

You begin piling the kids into saucers covered with cups. 4 to 5 in each.
At the same time you order Hina to begin wailing on the man with her swords.
You use your concentration to keep Hina unfrozen, even if you aren't touching her.
Hina has effectively stabbed, slashed, and diced the man. His remains only staying together by virtue of the stopped time.

    On the bright side.

Our deal with Erica specified that the WINNER would make the LOSER dress up however they wanted. If she loses too (I mean, she's teamed up with SHIROU in a STEALTH mission. It won't end well for her), then neither of us have to dress up.

My god. Can your logic be any more circular?

Besides which, you're inserting post-facto knowledge into her justification for not saying anything, and by extension of your argument, failing.

She didn't have an appropriate plan for the situation. Fine. We communicated the details of the plan extensively during it's execution. Fine. The enemy threw a spanner into the works with planted monsters and proved more resilient to damage than anticipated. Fine. We made the decision to maximise our strengths by rescuing Hina so all the children wouldn't die instead of two.

She thinks she failed, and we need to reinforce that that doesn't matter, and that these exercises exist to help people overcome that fear of failure. Not "OMG i'm sorry glorious vagina, it's all my fault i've failed you!".

Lack of focus is a perfectly good reason to remember it so late and at random.

Other way around. If we put her in pants, she's wearing the male uniform to school. The frilly dress can be for out of school.
    >> Anonymous 03/10/12(Sat)03:09 No.18272596
Well we only said win or lose and we never found out what exactly these were graded on.

So technically we might still beat her.
Probably have a 50/50 chance of roll or she fails
Slight chance we roll and she wins

There was probably a way to succeed, but it probably would have required better dicegod cooperation and letting Hina get eaten by a tentacle monster.
    >> Anonymous 03/10/12(Sat)03:11 No.18272605
My thought is that since she usually wears a military uniform, an actual dress would be shockingly different for her. Like taking a tomboy and dressing her up for a ball. All embarrassed, "he really thinks I look pretty?" etc etc just like my chinese cartoons.

    Trust me.
    >> Anonymous 03/10/12(Sat)03:11 No.18272607

We got a punishment for wearing the wrong uniform to class, we shouldn't do the same to her. This needs to be stated as non-class wear.

I'm not saying there wasn't, just that the bar was set VERY high. No losses high, pretty much.

You reach out to ted and Jakob.
'Guys, I'm sorry, but where are you?'
'We are just about to go into the library now, sir.' Jakob replies.
'Can you guys come back here real quick? I have a favor to ask of you.'
    'Of course sir.'

A few moments later you see Ted running at full speed across the quad, Jakob bouncing around on his back like a little ball of cotton.

"We're here ol' bean. What is it taht you need of us?" Ted asks you.
You generate a basket of biscuits and a thermos of tea.
"I want you guys to take this to Yuki, the Director, in the library." you say as you hand it to them.
"Serve her some tea and apologize for me, if you could."
"Of course sir, we'd be glad to."
    "Bully. Leave it to us."
And the two of them head back off to the library.

You are Katsura Hinagiku, a new trainee for the IDPKB
There's this guy in your class.
    And you hugged him earlier.

You sit in your room thinking. Just thinking.
You remember how comfortable you were in his arms.
You remember what he said during the simulation.
"I want you here with me."
    >> Anonymous 03/10/12(Sat)04:11 No.18272949
I don't think you can negotiate success/failure like that.

Stop her, and if she asks how we did, tell her we failed.

If she is surprised and asks why/how, tell her we failed to preserve all hostages. Don't elaborate.

"He's an idiot, true, but you don't need to kill him over it."

She gives him one final kick, and leans into your arms.
Shirou scrambles to get away and hide.

"Fucking moron ruined the mission." she says as she snuggles in to you, still in the middle of the gym.

"Yeah, I saw." you tell her with a chuckle. "Why dont we go sit down?"

As you sit down, she asks you.

We should avoid the worst of that. What we can do that she can't train on her own is her fear of heights. Light on the part where we get beat up, heavy on the part where she's crawling on us.

    To do list:
We only have about 4 days to get our things ready for white day so we'd better get onto it next thread.
Go to town, order the locket for Nanoha, find the
Lingerie for the twins, find the LP for Keima and get the ingredients for our various friends gifts while we are there.
Take some bread to Tsukino was mentioned before, whether we do it or not yet remains to be seen
See the doctor about an extra dimensional swag palace for us to start working on.
See Ryuu about making new potions, including BEARMODE potion, from scratch and mention we think it is time we tried fiddling around with that, also mention we might have another good alchemy student for him
we still need to get our hands on a Grand Piano for classy entertaining. Solve limited space problem, possibly remove couch, or somehow combine the couch with a grand piano

Suggestion: Talk to Keima about compiling a student dossier system.

Having everybody know everybody else's strengths and weaknesses would put everyone on even ground in a fight, and allow them to coordinate much better in scenarios like this.

Plus taking the initiative on something like this will look good to the higher-ups.

For people who would rather act paranoid we can make it completely voluntary: you opt in, you get all the data.

It also gives us a head-start on organizing a semi-criminal organization and wrecking merry-hell with the bureau here if we turned evil.

It's not great NOW, but it's done some cool things like go multi-platform right out the gate.

There's also been EA hinting at things like buying a game for one platform via origen gets you all versions of it.

When you compare some of the server-side game streaming services out there, and the fact that EA could pull that shit off, Origen might go interesting places.

    Just my two cents.

+1 for no ladies whilst training with Sousuke. If we want to get the most out of the time, we need to not be distracted.
Maybe while we're training with Sousuke, Gai could be doing training with Shirou, see if he can impart a bit of that everflowing stoic-ness to Shirou so he can calm down and learn how to do his job. Go out to some mountains and sit under a waterfall, hold rocks, spar, do whatever it is martial artists do.
    >> Anonymous 03/10/12(Sat)05:49 No.18273654
Well giving her a gun that fires powerful explosive-incendiary rounds won't help her in that regard.

Let's just stick with the locket. We can provide bombs on request.

In fact, since we've learned a number of useful potions, we should keep some in stock so we can hand them out to our group when we're deployed and during training.
