When last we left our intrepid band, they had sent a combat team to attack the biotech firm MetPharm while X-COM NOVA assists. They had succeeded, penetrating deep into the corporate HQ, reaching a large antechamber below the building with five branching passages leading deeper into the complex.

    >I'm thinking:
Abjurers, Aurors and 1 White Mage squad are a must, for support.

    >Gotta take Spike and Elaine for Courage/Wisdom avataring.
Tosh is good at infiltrating places.
Gondegal is good at scouting, so he's in.
If we're taking lots of troops, Star-Lord is good for his commanding ability.
We're going into a place where we want to get to a point, grab the shit, and get out. VP-99's pathfinding is needed for that.
As always, gotta take a tank. Darius got disarmed with metal man, so it's Douglas's turn now.
Agrias is incredibly useful inside closed spaces due to Geomancy, so she's in.

    >Gotta take at least 1 Shadowrunner team, for their experience.
Delta Greens' shoot through walls scanners are ultra boss
The MIs are extremely good at solving practical problems
A second White Mage squad is a good idea, considering all the troops we're taking
and take Lyla with us too, for hero white maging.
This is what you ended up taking.

Why, hello there! Hope you get to feeling better, OP.

Scan the corridors as far as we can with sensors, tricorders, IR sensors, Rigger drones. The works.

Ask the Farseers which corridors have the most tangled skeins (i.e. DANGER DANGER) and try to correlate running scans/blueprints we may have on the facility to where the Stones are located.

Everyone here with the exception of Samus (DO NOT KILL HER. SHE IS CANON IMPORTANT.) is kill-on-sight last i checked, so safeties off, controlled bursts, and remember to go for any glowy parts for massive damage.

Keep a running comm link with X-COM NOVA so we can keep track of the distraction, and coordinate efforts if at all possible. Watch for friendlies!

Gondegal has a satchel of X-COM High Explosives, correct?

Compare the floor plan we have of the HQ with where we are now; which path will lead us to the room with the Jewels?

Use VP-99 and our exographic scanners to scout ahead.
Coordinate with X-COM NOVA so that we don't have friendly fire blaster bomb incidents.

Also, have the Farseers try to scry for Samus, see where she is, and if she is in danger.

Lyla and Elaine, make sure that ReRaise is on each of them.

You are uncertain which room has the jewels by now, but according to the floor plans you acquired, the corridors lead to...

    1.)Weapons Test Area#1
    2.)Secure Specimen Storage
    3.)Biotechnological Labs #1
    4.)Biotechnological Labs #2
    5.)"Black Cortex"

Which corridor do you send VP-99 down?

The Farseers cannot currently peer into the future, it is too much in flux and some alloy in this part of the complex is blocking your exographic sensors.

X-COM Nova reports that they are making their way down the skyscraper from the top. Currently 70 stories are between you and them. They'll let you know when they get close enough to start worrying about crossfires.

    Or Loot On Sight.

Here's the plan: We head down to whatever may be blocking teleports, wreck it, head up to the gems, take them, then teleport out.

Anything tries to stop us, we either kill it or loot it.

Use VP-99's avoids danger protocols, the Farseers' guidance, and our large amount of collected intel about the building, to avoid as much confrontation as possible.

Can the Inde beam some of the rigger's drones to each of the 5 areas for some remote scouting?

Send VP-99 down Corridor 2, and keep a lock on its transporter beacon so that it can be beamed out if it faces heavy resistance.

The field is down, but the large lab you arrived in is the deepest the transporters can safely function based off of sensor readings for deployment. You can still transport safely in any area your troops can see, but teleporting blind is risky in this area. You can still attempt it, but there's a mishap chance.

VP-99 begins to head down the corridor to the Secure Specimen Storage Area...

VP-99 begins to head down the corridor, getting all the way to the sealed door there and opening it without a problem. The sophisticated droid brain within VP-99 immediately note it is suspicious that the door was not locked, especially with all the alarms blaring. Its danger avoidance protocols activate barely in time for it to fly back as a tidal wave of black-shelled nightmares with slime-drooling maws burst from the chamber beyond. VP-99 immediately begins flying at top speed back to the main chamber, pursued by the ravenous Aliens behind him.

The warning about gratings is a wise move as several more xenomorphs attempt to flank the party from up above and beneath, a handful bursting from ventilation shafts only to be met with roaring bellows and flashing claws as Okku springs to meet them.

Normally anyone foolish enough to engage a xenomorph in melee deserves their fate, but Okku is not a creature of flesh, but of spirit. The powerful acid and incredible strength of the Alien is not enough to triumph over the God of Bears. A ferocious battle ensues.

As this happens, the Delta Greens fire shot after well placed shot, thinning the xenomorph horde immensely as acid blood pools on the floor and begins to carve a great trench into it... A trench which the surviving aliens use to slip under the Wall of Force when it is big enough.

Shadowrunners gun down the aliens as Okku prevents them from reaching more vulnerable targets. Shortly afterward, the flanking forces are destroyed, though Okku takes moderate injuries from repeated acid exposure.

The Aurors throw up a disintegration field as the remaining xenomorphs breach the Wall, keeping the enemy from reaching you as the rest keep up enough fire to take them down.

The door to Specimen Storage is still open, but there are no more aliens to kill.

Agrias Tanks and puts Magma in the path of incoming hostiles.

If there's an attack on wilycorp, we should ask light to grab any computers or tech they can, so we can reverse engineer it and get any security codes we can from it.
If lights forces can disable the teleport interdictors in wilycorp we could send in a squad to smash and grab whatever looks valuable.
From what i remember xenomorphs navigate by sonar, let's jam that to disorientate them, maybe also neutralize the acid with a weak alkaline, like baking soda (Only if we can vent the air, xenomorph acid reactions might give off fumes) (To get such a chemical, either transfiguration or scan for chemical plants, then locate suitable chemicals)
If available, teleport support could build cover for our troops, close gaps like the one the xenomorphs made, and remove harmful substances like xenomorphs, xenomorph acid, poison gas, guards, ect by not rematerializing the target, or teleporting slices of the target into a containment bay or just into the ocean.

Whatever we send, make sure that we don't leave any pieces behind if it breaks, we don't want to introduce a new metacontaminant in the form of our broken robots.
If we send warhammer tech against wily, he might recognize it from the dataslate and go all out trying to capture it, so we need to keep a teleporter lock on the baneblades at all times, as well as a way to destroy them if our teleporters get jammed.
Are our securitrons able to do looting? If not, send a squad of human troops as well to do more complicated things like teleport aiming, looting, hacking, ect.
We should be grabbing every disabled enemy troop we can, even if they're beyond revival they still have implants and equiptment we want to study.

    1.)Weapons Test Area#1
The drone makes it two thirds of the way down the corridor, disarming several traps along the way before mishandling a hidden mine. The droid detonates along with a portion of the floor, a few shards of debris propelled far enough to smack the Shadowrunners on the face.

    3.)Biotechnological Labs #1
This drone slowly makes it way to the end of the hall, detecting and disarming several trapped floor panels before reaching the door safely and waiting for the breach signal.

    4.)Biotechnological Labs #2
As with the first droid, the robot manages to disarm a number of traps before missing one with disastrous results.

    5.)"Black Cortex"
The drone makes it halfway down the corridor before a web of lasers flare to life around the walls and slices across the hall in the blink of an eye, destroying the robot instantly. A second later the lasers vanish back into the walls.

    Who here disarms traps?
We could most likely just have an Auror spam Avis down the corridor for a very cheap trap disarming, or summon a lot of water.
Agrias has Geomancy and can likely roll rocks down the corridor.
The Delta Greens can see machinery through walls, and kill it.
The Shadowrunners know how to check for traps.
And if all of those fail, get heals up on Spike / Okku and walk down the corridor.

The shadowrunners are used to handling traps, they should go about looking for and disarming them.

Scan a room from doorway with a tricorder or other scanners, Send in shadowrunners to look for more traps and disarm any found. If walls are blocking sensors, look for any holes or anomalies in a wall, and scan those removing wall around anything suspicious if needed, either aurors, teleport support, or whoever else can remove at least a centimeter from the walls are options for this.

We could cut peepholes in walls using teleporters, mass rifles, aurors, etc to scan a room for traps without going in through its doorway.

We could also just shoot walls every meter or so with a phaser to break any traps inside them?

You send your Drone Squad into the Secure Specimen Room. It is a vast chamber filled with stasis tubes containing all sorts of monsters, creatures, mutants, and aliens. For non-living specimens, there is a series of sealed vaults alone one wall. Loaders and powered carts are scattered around, clearly used for moving the specimens to and from the labs, but abandoned by their operators. A large number of tubes on the left side of the building have been emptied... not broken, but opened normally.

As your Drone Squad enters, an alarm blares and a massive stasis tube slides up from the floor, one half its side sliding away to allow the creature within egress. Fog pours from the vessel, obscuring your sight of the beast until finally it steps forward, a vast yellow bulk emerging...

Samus covered her face instinctively as the Glass of the tube shattered. Her head spinning from such fast. Motion. Within the cool fog something bulky began to take form. A single glowing eye staring at her.

    "Bio-devil now online."
Samus Aran's blood ran cold. A bio-devil?! That was a Wily machine, what the hell were they thinking it was supposed to be a combat exercise not an execution! Her stomach lurched as something grabbed her leg. A sinewy mass of yellow was slowly crawling across the floor towards her...
She had one shot. Her body moved like it was in molasses as she brought her arm cannon to bear already kicking on the charge function. The high pitched humming of a power shot sending her back to her days at the academy.
That was when it happened. When she finally realized something far greater than herself. Pain wracked her body as the suit finally accepted its new master. Every fiber of her being entwined with its. For a brief moment she saw the face of thing in the room again. Its large glowing eyes starting at her with inhuman callousness. She could understand what it was trying to do now. How it was trying to help. How it was trying to save them all.
In a blinding sensation she touched her mind to an alien intellect in that room hidden away from prying eyes. She had touched an intellect so vast and strange it should have broken her....It hadn't.
The explosion vaporized the core of the horrific Biodroid, causing the entire mass to revert to little more than sand. Standing in a swirling cloud of debris was the one thing Met-Pharm had wanted for so long. A Chozo Suit wielded by one of their own.

Wasn't a loophole, Lyla and Elaine became heroes BECAUSE they fulfilled secret conditions.

Sorry, I can't remember. I usually make them up on the spot. Like, "If one of the Abjurers finds the hidden tome of lore here and manages to decode it, he gets promoted to Hero." Or, "If this unit successfully survives this suicide mission, he'll be promoted."

"You look like you've been through hell," Spike comments, raising his pistol. "So just throw down your gun and we'll make things easy. You can just sit down, and we'll be out of your hair in a few minutes. You can take a breather 'til you feel better."

"On the contrary..." Samus says, raising her pistol with lightning fast reflexes. "I feel great!"

Spike jerks himself to the side to avoid the orange bolt fired in the next second from Samus' pistol. The energy bolt splatters harmlessly off of the wall behind him as he hits the ground, rolling on his shoulder to snap off a few shots at Samus that miss as the soldier rolls away in turn, towards the Weapon Testing Area she had first emerged from.

"No you don't!" Spike swears, pushing himself to his feet and running after her.

The sound of shattering glass still comes from the Specimen chamber, a new flood of creatures streaming out to assault the beleaguered squad as a few more Metroids float out as well. What we need to do is figure out who has the least kills.
E.g. White mages can try to Holy them.
Abjurers have few DIRECT kills since they act mostly in support, and can engage.
Aurors, likewise, are mostly nonlethal and can diffindo them apart.
Our Drooones! Are mostly fresh, and can kill with impunity.

However, most of our other troops have many kills under their belt.
The MIs come from Starship Troopers. Bugswarm. If a MI lands a kill, the MI's as good as dead due to Karma.
our DGs, likewise, are dead due to Karma if they attack.
Shadowrunners? If they ain't got more kills than the rest of us combined, they're playing shadowrun wrong.

    As for our heroes?
    Agrias - No.
Douglas - Yes. Have him send in Okku.
    Elaine, Lyla - Yes, healers.
Gondegal - How many people has he killed in his life? If it's less than 20, have him go for it.
Spike - he has the "Not die" talent, he can get over it.
Star-Lord: Very no. Killed many planets there, son?
    Tosh: No, he's an assassin.

I'd say to Glacius the metroids and break them, then see if we can box the Tonberries in by teleporting heavy objects (i.e. cargo boxes, dumpsters, nearby heavy debris) to create a sealed pen for them; this won't trigger retaliation since we're not really attacking them.

Why, simple. Shoot / Magic / Sniper the Metroids. They may have resistant skin, but they mightn't be resistant to psionic pulse, teleporting bullets, or Agrias' winsword.

I think we should try to get some Liquid Nitrogen bottles made. We HAVE a 0 Kelvin beam, we have Nitrogen, and we no doubt have bottles.

I'm a bit worried about aggressive action against the Tonberries; any direct action taken against them results in a punishing counterattack (based on how many kills the thing attacking them has), even if it doesn't cause damage.

Although I'm not sure if that would apply to starships, or if the tonberries' wreck-a-dude-attack would even affect starships in any way.

Before he loses the weapon completely, Spike manages to bring his other hand around against Samus' knocking the weapon away from both of them.

Spike and Samus lunge at each other, launching a series of punches and kicks that only experienced martial artists could follow. The two duck, weave, dodge, and block, countering each other's moves again and again. Occasionally, a blow gets through. A straight punch to Spike's cheek. A palm-heel to Samus' chin. A side-kick catches Spike in the chest. An elbow-thrust to Samus' gut. Bruises and worse sprout in multiple places on the two fighters' bodies, but they continue.

"Sorry to say the cliche line, but I gotta ask. What's a pretty woman like you is doing working in a place like this?" Spike asks, ducking under a double punch and launching an uppercut in response. "You seem a bit out of place."

"Like I'd tell a terrorist," Samus snarls, leaning back to barely avoid the blow as she uses the momentum to bring her leg up, snap-kicking Spike in the chin. Samus winces at the term, her guard lowered for a moment. Spike exploits the opening to execute a roundhouse kick that strike Samus in the side, causing her to stumble for a moment.

"You want me to believe you've been fighting on the right side? I don't think you can believe it yourself. Not after whatever they did to you," Spike states, barely managing to block a series of almost impossibly fluid motions from Samus. The woman would be be the Hunter stares at Spike lividly.

"What would you know about it?" she shoots back, sweeping her leg under Spike's to send the bounty hunter to the floor. Spike immediately rolls out of the way of her next attack and springs back up on his feet, fists at the ready.

"I know a little bit about fighting for a wrong cause," he says, his eyes narrowed.

If we can get her to realise metpharm is an alein front corporation, she'll probably not be fighting us. Also, it might drive her to join Light. If she's not hostile to us (or at least accepts we're not trying to kill people), we should maybe direct her to the good doctor, pointing out that X-Com Nova is acting independent of them, at least at this point in time.

If she asks how we know Xcom, say that we coordinated our snatch-and-grab with their attack as cover, but we didn't know they'd be so...triggerhappy (which is true). Also don't say it was our idea.

Two cases of flasks containing a ruby red liquid. The flasks are labelled "B.P.M. Formula 115."
