The LemUy have evolved simple polyps to aid in their mobility. The simple evolution serves them as legs, though motion is still achieved via fluid shifting inside their gelatinous membrane. A more significant event is that some of their spores are light enough to proliferate on the winds and attach to water molecules. to put it simply, the sky now has eerily illuminated clouds at night. this is beneficial to creatures normally active during the day with low light to protect themselves or hunt by. enjoy.

When the original Harpoon tongued flouz species began to disperse, as their food fled underground, the surviving populations had to adapt.

The Puff tongued Flouz lost the cartilage coverings of it's tongues as it began to feed on the detritus, undergrowth and moss. It's tongues developed sticky puffs at their ends to help them to grab food.

Their new diet required even bigger stomaches, which in turn made them heavier. Because of this, the back tentacles developed into secondary "legs", that the creature uses to support itself as it stuffs it's multi-chambered stomach full of food.

Although the was majority of the harpoon tongued flouz either died or moved to other diets, the ancestors of the Tunneling Flouz continued to pursue their glund prey.

Over time, they became even smaller and short lived creatures, and as they began moving underground, they started losing their social aspects too.

The Tunneling Flouz is a small, mole like creature, that uses it's spade like head and fangs to burrow through soil. Their resistiveness to the poisonous environment around them is greater, trough the improved ability to store away the toxins in their fatty tissues.

The Tunneling Flouz hunts glunds by piercing the walls of the outer tunnels of glund colonies and then waiting for a glund to pass by, so the Flouz can quickly impale it and drag it away with it's harpoon like tongues.

The phosphorescent patches on it's head have adapted to produce more intense light, so it can illuminate it's tunnels, distract predators, and most importantly, communicate with it's fellows.

Some of these burroslizers have found minerals not commonly found in the 'shallower' soil. However, these minerals aren't digestible by them... yet. It is up to players' imagination how the burroslizers would react to this.

Also, a side note about the walker flouz: they are now called hoppas. I think they're awesome, how they develop to primitive dino-like behavior.

Well, it seems that it is time for some evolution.

The hoppas presumably no longer poses the ability to breath in water, as they have been lad based creatures for a long time. I have just assumed that they developed rudimentary lungs when they first moved to the surface based lifestyle.

The swimming hoppa is another split from the harpoon tongued hoppa, that started developing in the coastal region. As many of the larval forms of the hoppas landed in the sea, they slowly adapted to a more amphibian lifestyle, as the descendants of those who didn't drown in the sea passed on their traits.

The Swimming Hoppa is capable of swimming, although it is not exceptional at it.
It mostly preys on water bound creatures that come near the surface. The hoppa uses it's harpoon like tongues to swiftly impale small water critters and then consume them.

Their larvae are able swimmers however. Their air sacks start fading and the protective skin starts growing faster than on other hoppa species, guaranteeing that the winds wont drag them hopelessly far from the coast line, in where they spend their adulthood.

Because of this, the larvae are not fully developed when their air sacks become useless to them, thus when they fall from the skies they are quite helpless, on ground.
In water, they use the fin like organs on their side to propel themselves, along with their flattened back tentacles.

Their legs have lost most of their barbed hairs, in order to reduce the drag they cause.

Because winds blow towards the sea at night, the Swimming hoppers release their spawn only when the sun has already set. If their spawn landed on the ground, they would be easy prey for multitude of predators.

The Lemuy walk on two legs now, this allows them to see above their ground clinging spore fog and to better climb and maintain their client creatures. The lemuy ecology has confined to evolve, now some lemuy offshoots stay in plant phase and continue to grow instead of advancing to adult lemuy. The spores are hardier and now the photoluminesent lemuy feilds expand a few miles in each direction from their origonal caves, valleys, and low lake beds. The spores cannot survive a submurged environment so they will not be found near lakes, oceans, rivers, etc. A signfiicant note is that due to no predation on the LemUy, and their proliferation the oxygen content of this world has continued to steadily rise. The atmosphere is now 40% oxygen. (earth has 21%) animals will breath easier, have more energy, and be more mobile if they capitalize on this development.

a strain of hopper has developed into a larger size. This is its defense strategy towering over the older varieties and feeding on the upper leaves of plants. To compensate for the incressed mass it's developed its rear tentacles into a second set of tentacles into thicker sturdy limbs shifting its bulk around so that the main mass is horizontal to the ground.

The Dancing Hoppa has developed it's social hierarchy further, and thus gained a signaling system based on their body language and colors in addition to the pheromones.

They are slightly larger than the Tuft Hoppas who still roam the land in their herds searching usable food from the undergrowth with their tongues.
The ancestors of the Dancing Hoppa moved to feast on the Lemou growths, which eventually caused the speciation event.

This has caused a low pressure zone to form all over, there are daily tropical depressions (storms right before a hurricane). Expect heavy humidity, occasional flooding, increased lightning strikes resulting in the occasional forest fire, and increased plant growth from the extra rain. The rain itself, at night has an off blue glow to it from the luminescent spores. Herbivores can capitalize on the rampant plant growth, and plants...now is your time to shine.

    Hehehe....

    ALright. Lets get Frilla.

Thanks to the surge of electricity, and nutrients, the Frilla develop a conciousness, awareness, and become a sort of plant hybrid. This is represented by thick veiny stalks tracing the externals of the frilla, pulsing with lights that show signals passing through. When a forest fire starts, this can be noticably demonstrated by the hyperactive pulsing, and the super hydration of the plants themselves, to make the fires less capable of widespread destruction.

Oh boy! Lightning AND plant growth? You just made my day sir.

Mevola experience lightning strikes at an unprecedented rate, as more than a few can overload their capacitor jelly and fry their tuberous brain mater. This has lead to some unusually quirky individuals to try something new... Uprooting themselves to get away from low pressure areas, they at first used all of their tendrils to drag themselves. Subsequent generations have specialized bottom 'limbs'' for locomotion, with the top ones still used to ensnare and incapacitate their prey with discharges of stored electricity. In response to electrical overload, the capacitor goo has become much more dense, allowing greater storage of energy. Photo receptors have relocated in response to the creatures new posture.

Also here's a nifty picture of the brain, virtually unchanged for a millions of years...

The glud were hording for some unknown reason and the Mevola hunted and were hunted by worem and flouez, the slugs grazed absent mindedly. A series of volcanic eruptions across the globe spread enough carbon ash into the atmosphere to blot out the sun, then that perfect oxygen rich atmosphere ignited creating a global firestorm, the world was on fire...if only for a moment. In the following cycle food will be scarce, competition will be vicious and species will have to adapt to survive and make use of what little is left, but do not worry...a least some of all species survived, and while many vegetated areas were destroyed, the seeds sit in the charred earth waiting for the first rain....but that is for a brighter tomorrow.

1-you are dead. roll back a few species and reinvent yourself, the harsh climate change was too much
2-you survive and are carnivorous now to supplement your diet. name your new prey
3-You have become less plant and more animal. name your new prey
4-you developed a radical adaptation to survive in the new environment. (extensive use of soil nutrients and thermal energy for growth instead of light)
5-Develop some form of mobility. tumbleweed, crawl, blow on the wind, whatever.
6-Giant Growth spurt- the climate was perfect for you to tower above it all, you are as massive as a skyscraper...and as immobile, an ecology all to your own.
    ---
fliers- this one is a little brutal, but consider the calamity.
    roll a 1-3
1-you were knocked out of the sky and your ability to fly is destroyed, crawl in the dirt.
2-You survived, but not unchanged, adapt to fly lower and breath ash laden air.
    3. Hard times call for harder creatures. Become an aggressive predator, and name your favored prey.

The cataclysmic events of the firestorm brought devastation to the more specialized Hoppa species. The nomadic Hoppa had been the underdog in the Hoppa family, it didn't have the numbers of the Tuft Hoppas, the size of the Great Hoppas and Big tuft Hoppas or the speed and fangs of the Flash Hoppas.
But perhaps for this very reason, when the world collapsed around them, the Nomadic Hoppas were the ones to seize the day.

They had always been the smartest breed of Hoppas, and now when the resources were scarce, this ingenuity of them allowed them to recover their losses very swiftly.

Their social hierarchy developed even further, as definite societal roles started emerging for individuals. To compensate this growing complexity, their communication system also started using their bioluminicent patches.
Partly because of this, their eyesight also developed further.

During this whole time, their brains had been slowly developing, but this catastrophe was the needed catalyst to boost them to a primitive sentience.
Their tentacles developed for handling objects better. The forward facing ones developed gecko like paws at their ends, while the backward facing ones gained hard bumbs on their underside at their tips, to make them better at grabbing things.

The Tribal Hoppa lives in small moving communities, only settling down to raise their young. Although Hoppas are asexual, some Tribal Hoppas take a motherly role by guarding the young of the whole tribe, while the others either scavenge or hunt for food.

They learn to crudely cultivate the frilla plants and trees they endear so much and spread their growth all across the landmass. They use its vines and tendrils to clumsily bind together bandoliers and baskets to hold various supplies and trinkets. Cold seasons slow their progress and encourage them to settle in cavernous formations where many family groups commune and trade, hibernating all the while until conditions improve.

They begin to store electric charges in their shells, harvested from the melova they eat and electrical discharges from the environment itself, to add to their defensive arsenal for any predator foolish enough to attack them while charged.

Along with their great size they have attained speed as well, making great lumbering strides, starting slow but becoming deceptively quick.

The electric unity between the frilla of the isles and the frowmagnons ancestors are ever prevalent even now. They channel electrical bursts into their bare strikes and fling bolts as if were as simple as batting an eyelash. (that is if they had them)

They craft simple staves of frilla limbs and bark coiled with vine matter, channeling their electric impulses along them to great effect. These organic stun batons prove effective but frail as eventually the plant matter dries up within weeks and dies, along with it the conductive tissues. Crafting such weapons of various lengths and shapes becomes a common trade alongside cultivation and weaving for warfare against opposing tribes and prey in the hunt. The phalanges in their mitts become more finer and articulate to manipulate such materials.

As the Lemoy fields burned so did the majority of the Dancing hoppas.
Those that survived were forced to compete for the ever dwindling resources, both with each other and with other Hoppa species.
This led to an increasingly aggressive behavior towards everything.
The color patterns became warnings, the pheromones and biolominicent lights signals of hate. The Screaming Hoppa gets its name from the booming shriek it emits from it's bowels to ward of anything that it perceives as entering it's territory.

To support this ever aggressive attitude, the Screaming Hoppa has grown in size. They are obnoxious omnivores, they can and will eat anything. They often steal other creatures kills, by simply forcing the smaller creature to move away or get dismembered.
Their tongues lost their tuft tipped heads, and instead developed harsh, sandpaper like ends, that allow the Hoppa to lick every scrap of food to their maws.

The spore count slowly increases but the adult lem no longer produce oxygen, so the spores can only hope to very slowly repair the ecology. The ash is still thick in the sky, but in time the clouds begin to glow again though now it is a ruddy orange like the embers of a fire, the sun barely shines still. Plant life can survive off of this light at a diminished rate. The Lem travel in packs searching for plant life and come across The shield Glund and The frowmagnon first. The begin dooing what they do best, scavenging to survive. They clean the Glund and Frowmagnon for parasites and detritus to get sustenance. Time will tell if they are brutally killed by the worlds new populace, and as they spread who will they meet next?

As the Tuft Hoppas were omnivorous, the cataclysm only reduced their populations temporarily. All the dead stuff in the undergrowth were quickly consumed by the Hoppas, though their population size still remained only a portion of their glory days.
With the increased competition, predation and scarcity of food the Tuft Hoppas are somewhat smaller than their ancestors to reduce need for food and increase their speed.

These smaller and more agile herds of Hoppas are scattered all around the continent, as they have adopted more nomadic lifestyle.

The Lem continue to integrate themselves into the ecology where they can. Their sporing in this environment produces poorer results for beneficial uses. Instead of lush feilds of moss, their spores create puddles of glowing slime, oozing from rock faces and sticking to the ground. The living sporesamoebas of the slime excrete a mild acid breaking down the volcanic ash that cakes the world, coverting it into soil quicker then would be normal, it will still be a long...slimy process. The Lem themselves have evolved several organelles dedicated to sporing, as well as reaching a state similar to their more evolved ancestors. Their claws are a potent defensive mechanism. They move with an odd bouncing stretching motion that is a crude parody of walking, giving them the illusion of constantly stalking something.

For eons, the Tunneling Hoppa had preyed on the wormlike Glunds, but when the glunds moved to a more predatory diet, a deadly game of mice began inside the dark tunnels of their burrows.

The Tunneling Hoppas were the first creatures the Glunds consumed, those that survived were forced to become even faster and nimbler creatures. They started hunting swiftly, doing hit and run attacks on the unaware glunds, quickly using their empowered tongues to impale their bodies before dragging them away.

The main advantage the Hoppas have over the glunds is their bioluminescence that allows them to see inside the tunnels. As it uses great amounts of energy however, they need to feed very often.

The Tunneling Hoppa's rear tentacles have developed glands that allow them to produce strands of silk like substance, which they use to lay warning lines at their nests and to reinforce their tunnels.

The Tunneling Hoppa has laid eggs for a long time now, as they rarely enter the surface. They use their silk to attach soil and other debris on them, in order to camouflage their scent.

Heh, the hoppers have been sort of stealing the show on the main continent. I am quite amused how the catastrophe only barely scratched them. Well, that is what you get for deciding things like this with dices.

Seriously though, we need more variety in the creatures. More plants, more offshoots of species. The only thing I might criticize this brilliant evo-quest about is the fact that there is too little speciation going on.
Instead of splitting off and forming new species and lineages, the majority of species seem to only further improve themselves.
This leads to a problem if the species dies out, thus completely removing the whole lineage from the game, if it doesn't have sub species and other variations living elsewhere.

This is of course just minor nitpicking though. These threads are fantastic. They remind me of a long running similar evolution game that was held on one spore fansite. It was fucking glorious. It was called Sagan-4 or something alike.

A splinter species emerges from the Shield Glund.
Although the majority of the Shield Glunds use the electric charges they contain for defense, the ancestors of the Charge Glund discovered that the electric discharge was exceptional at stunning small prey.
They began actively hunting creatures of varying sizes, even young Hoppas who steered too close to them. (I assume that the Glunds are still relatively small, seeing that their closest relative is a burrowing worm like thing, if I am wrong then disregard this.)

As their carnivorous appetite grew their diet on Melova withered, until they eventually only fed on it in order to recharge their electric powers.
Their carapaces ability to store these charges was further increased, and the highly conductive minerals the volcanic activity brought to the surface only served to further improve this.

Their horns merged in to one, extremely conductive horn they use to channel their electric charges towards their prey. Their tails also grew, now serving a twin purpose of both finishing of stunned prey with toxins, and collecting static electricity from the environment and sorting it to their carapace.

The glund that resided near the volcanoes take advantage of their new biomes, switching their colour to blend in with the ash mounds. Their carapaces grow a bit more flexible and the spikes open up and become shorter, becoming spouts for the Ashglund to release clouds of smoke and ash to deter predators and to assist in camoflague.

They lose their poisonus glands and instead gain filters and a second set of lungs to give them clean air to breathe and power their smoke cloud abilities.

Finally their skin and carapaces change for camoflauge and to better resist the heat in the environs.

They become smaller overall because of shortage of fauna in these areas and have to turn to eating smaller glund decendants and tunneling Flouz to supplement their diet.(omnivores)

After the volcanic apocalypse, and it's massive effects on climate, pure water became scarce.
The rivers and lakes were polluted by the acidic fallout of the eruptions.
In their desperate search for water, many creatures sought out the small water pools that had gathered in the cup like leaves of the Yantar plant.

Of course, this water was also deadly, but because Yantars were already very capable of handling same kinds of toxic hazards, they simply filtered the water they needed from their pools while leaving the toxins there.
Because of this, the pools quickly became concentrated with the toxins, thus making the water inside them much more contaminated than the water from other sources.

Many creatures who drank this deadly liquid died very quickly, as the liquid mixture of volcanic ash, sulphuric acids and heavy metal pollutants scrambled their insides.

These dead released nutrients to the soil, and thus empowered the Yantar.
Over time, the Yantar developed alluring scents to attract creatures to their pools, and as the toxic fallout began to fade, they replaced the deadly substances with venoms of their own. They also developed a fast growing system of surface roots that quickly grew over any dead creature in their vicinity, so that no scavenger could claim the plant's price.

The Death cup Yantar relies manly on photosynthesis, it's deadly nature works only to give it an competing edge over the other plant life.

As the competition for the same evolutionary niche between the Great Hoppas and the Mega Hoppas intensifies, the Great Hoppas are forced to adapt. The herds of Mega Hoppas prove to be much better suited for eating everything they come across, as their massive herds grant them almost unparalleled protection, and thus the freedom to eat anything they find.

Because of this, the more solitary Great Hoppas were left with only scraps and bits in the herd's wake. Their hunger drove them to increased aggression and within few generations, they started actively hunting other Hoppas, such as their main competitors.

The two massive Hoppas are quite evenly matched is strength, but the rear legs of the Mega Hoppas give them greater speed and they have much better eyesight than the Great Hoppas do. Because of these factors, the Great Hoppas could not hope to run down their prey, nor could they approach them easily without being spotted.

This led to the Great Hoppas become nocturnal predators. In the darkness of the night, the Mega Hoppa's eyesight couldn't protect them, allowing the Great Hoppas to approach them freely.

The Stalking Hoppa uses it's strengthened tentacles constrict it's prey while it shreds it's victim with it's massive crushing jaws.
The attacks are swift, decisive and brutal. They are often over before the herd is even properly aware of the threat, and when the presence of the Stalker is noticed, it is already dragging a dead Hoppa away.

Over a few generation, the lumbering 40foot ex-tulip death machines overall body plan has changed little, however subtle changes in their brain layout has caused an increase in spatial awareness and memory skills, able to stalk their prey and memorize their daily habits. The decrease in weight and increase of an elastic molecule in their bottom tendrils allow them to be nearly silent, and run at a speed only matched by a few hoppa species. Being plant matter no carnivorous species actively hunt them. Being immune to the electrical attacks of the Fromaggon, they consider them a fine delicacy, and while hunting them is dangerous, night raids of the Frilla trees are not uncommon.

With Frilla trees growing near Calix Yantar the Adoni have begun to truly create homes for themselves. They cultivate the Yantar to grow on the poisonous frilla. This lures weak animals to the Calix where the Frillas poison can weaken them enough for the adoni to bring them down. Slowly but surely the adoni are creating spires and collecting resources from their home plants. The adoni increase their brain power during this period of cultivation.

I hope no-one minds if I ad a little more variety to the plant life around the planet.

These are all rather mundane and generic plants.

    1. Thunder stalk.
A distant relative to the Mevolas which never took the path to sentience. It has thick and thorny leaves that grown in a shell like pattern that protects the plant against damage. against damage. It also has an extremely limited ability to channel electricity, mostly to it's thorns on its leaves, giving it's defense some extra punch. It's long stalks also give it it's name, as they often catch lightning strikes.

    2. Pozen.
An ancient plant species that has changed very little from it's ancestors. A distant relative to the Frillas. It is a common plant in the undergrowth and it has over time developed the ability to rapidly "digest" detritus for extra nutrients. It is somewhat poisonous.

    3. Chalice Yatar.
A yatar plant that has only one gigantic mug like leaf, that it uses to gather massive amounts of water in. It also serves as a trap to any would be water thieves, as they can easily fall inside the leaf, in which they will be slowly digested. Typical in more arid environments in where the plants cant spare any water they can get. The Chalice Yatar's leaf's insides are covered in long fussy hairs that catch any water that might vaporise away.

    4.The stalk plant.
Common and unremarkable plant with one poisonous cup like leaf and hard bark. Grow in large bamboo like forests.

    5. The Great Pozen.
This Pozen variant lives in moister areas. It has augmented it's photosynthesis capabilities by allowing masses of algae to live in micro-chambers that have formed inside it's massive cup like leafs. The Pozen collects water and deters predators with it's poisons while the algae produce energy.

    THIS HAPPENS.

The frowmagnon face many large predators on the mainland. In their hardships they learned that the hoppa and mevola still fear one thing.

    Fire.

At first they would risk getting close to the still active lava flows from the new world's painful rebirth, lighting great bonfires and braziers out of frilla tinder to create barriers and "fences" to ward and corral them. They eventually spurned their own flames with their electric sparks.

Through this they would dominate and tame a few species of Hoppa.

The tunnelers for their silk and irrigation of the frilla.

The boomers for their weaponization and as adept guard animals.

And the great thundering mammoth-like hoppa as mounts and livestock.

This would be an arduous process to perfect as fear would be forgoed in favor of nurture, and nuture in favor of kinship.

    The frowmagnon push onward.

The Tribal Hoppas have continued to develop.
A major breakthrough happened when they discovered that they were able to communicate with other hoppa species with relative clarity, due the fact that all hoppa species rely heavily on their pheromones for communication, which haven't changed much over the eons.
This isn't really a new thing min you. The hoppas have always communicated across species with their pheromones. What is new is the fact that the Tribal Hoppas understood how they could use it to their advantage.

Many tribes have managed to gather groups of many of the more social Hoppa species such as Tuft Hoppas and Flash Hoppas around them with these pheromones. With their inherent understanding of this scent based communication and their ingenuity they have managed to transfer simple ideas to their distant relatives, and through this, they have managed to form almost symbiotic alliances with these creatures.
The Tuft Hoppas and Flash Hoppas aren't domesticated. They simply have understood that by staying around the Tribal Hoppas and following their commands they are going to get food and protection.

This revolutionized the Tribal lifestyle. They are now even more nomadic than ever before, often moving with their Tuft Hoppa allies and Flash Hoppa guardians in search of food and water. A new animistic pseudo religion has started to form in the tribes, along with the rise of the "herders" or "communers" who are shamanic elders responsible for the pheromone communication with the other Hoppa species.

Thus far, these kinds of alliances have been most stable with thealready smart and social hoppas such as Flash Hoppas and Tuft Hoppas. The natural aggressiveness and territoriality of the Screaming Hoppas have have made attempted communications with them hard, as they are seemingly unable of understanding even simple ideas, as their rage blots their mind.
The larger hoppas see the Tribals as prey, so there have bee few successful communes with them, although the Tribal legends tell tales of a brave communer who managed to tame a Stalking Hoppa and drive out the vicious Mevolites from their hidden valley.

Pic related. It is a Tribal Hoppa, or Nad'lun as they call themselves carrying a scent staff while herding a group of other hoppas.
The scent staff are almost religious artifacts. They are past down from the tribe's shaman to the next one in a rite of passage. It contains the removed pheromone bladders of multiple different Hoppa species, allowing the wielder to utilize a greater range of scents when communing with the Hoppas.

Unable to spread as far or as wide as the Frilla wish, a juvenile form of seedlings, each the size of a Mega Hoppa, and capable of movement, is formed. With Herding patterns, they grow for a few years before settling down for a major growth-spurt. This gives them the time to explore and gain new experience not found in their racial memory.

They are perfectly suited to serve as mounts for Frowgs, and due to their natural state require little to no nutrients while being Hardy and tough beasts.

    Cultural update!

The frowmagnon have been slowly signing roles to the most adept of their families, creating a sort of matriarchy ruled by the family's dominant female. The dominant male adheres to a chieftain role. Artisans, farmers, and warriors span the 50-60 strong mass families. They hold a spiritual adherence to the Frilla, ingesting their bio-luminiscent saps and smoking their spores and leaves to enter euphoric states. In reality they temporarily render their minds to a drone-like state, able to understand the frillamind's desires through electrical impulses like their ancestors could. Vague as these frilla-induced hallucinations are, they give something for the frowmagnon to fight and thrive for.

Because the tribal hoppas or Nad'lun as they call themselves language is based heavily on scent, bio-luminescence and body-language, only involving few chips and whistles that the can emit.
Because of this, they can communicate with other hoppa species, but the language barrier between the Nad'lun and the Frowmagnon tribes might be so wide that it will make communication extremely hard.

Theses Mevola now actualy take care of their young after they sprout, their spores now able to burrow into the bark of trees. Large families have now gathered up on the tops of frilla trees. The tribal hoppas are naturally rather curious, but that attitude has been thrown in to a decline as the growing shamanic faith spreads among the tribes. More and more of the Nad'lun tribes adopt the nomadic herder lifestyle, which unfortunately does not encourage technological development.

Their semi religion is varied across the tribes, but it has certain common elements everywhere. Elements such as the belief that all the Hoppas are actually the same people, and that there is an universal "wind of spirit" that unifies all the hoppas. This idea comes from the fact that the pheromones are carried often long distances trough the wind, thus carrying information as well.
They also believe that the Hoppa herds they follow will provide for them everything they need. They are slowly becoming more and more dogmatic and withdrawn from the word.

The frowmagnon and their domesticated hoppas may cause tensions between the species as some of the Nad'lun literally believe that the frowmagnon have enslaved their people, though they are far too unorganized and dispersed to form any sort of credible threat.

The Shield glund see this shit and go "Oh, ill just live in there'

They bully their way into the area and burrow into the bark, making expeditions to the top and bottom for food and raids for food. Their claws warp to allow for better climbing and their carapaces and skin thicken further to account for the pressure and temperature differences at all heights.

As the cataclysm shocked the world, the Wesck swarms found themselves in food shortage. As the skies burned, they could not venture out for hunts. And when they finally could, they found a world devoid of the abundance of life, of prey they had been accustomed to.

The wast majority of them died, as the swarms were unable to support such high populations without fresh prey. But without the numbers, they were powerless against the larger creatures. They were forced to scavenge the land for scraps of food, and the most stable one they found were the plants.
The plants could not run away, they could not fight back, and thus the some of the dwindling wescks swarms began feeding on them.

Because their bodies weren't used to toxins they were forced to adapt. The hard shelled guardian wescks developed complex stomaches that allowed them to filter or neutralize the majority of toxins, and refine the plant material to an edible form.

They regurgitate this processed plant matter for the rest of the swarm to feed on. They have also developed larger mouthparts and claws to ease the handling of hard plant matter.

The AshGlund add heat to their arsenal. Their old poison glands warp and begin to produce chemicals yet again, this time a burning acid formed from their own chemical secretions and the filtered impurities from the air..

They grow larger and slower to accommodate the presence of the new glands and change their pigmentation again to discourage predators fast enough to catch them and strong enough to break their shells.

They begin to dig homes for their birthing communities in stone and ash.

Like many other creatures, the Herbivorous wescks find their new home in the massive Frilla trees. They use their hard claws and fangs to burrow deep inside the tree, safe from harm, only flying out so they may carry their armored kin to feast on the poisonous plants. The flying drones stand on guard while these living refineries stock up, and when they are full, they are swiftly carried back to the nest, so they may process and regurgitate the precious food for the swarm.

The glund's exposure to the chemical environments of the frilla trees cause unexpected hormonal changes.

Meet the rage glund. With enormous frontal horns capable of piercing another glund's carapace, these bullheadd glund territorially headbutt each other from great heights, knocking each other off for territory.

Frowmagnon attempts to domesticate these as another herd animal proved futile and were only fit for hunting game like their relatives. Their horns contain a most potent poison secretion that instills fever and hormonal abnormality in its victim. The hoppa tribals and frowmagnon both come to roughly describing it as a "screaming plague." Victims have a high mortality rate with their best hope for survival to be quarantined and pray they're not dead in the morning.

What should the frilla trees that the adoni cultivate be called? I'm drawing a blank for a name for them. They're more or less a separate species at this point.

    URGENT UPDATE ON THE HOPPAS!

Due to some sort of thought failure, I described the hoppas as asexuals, when I meant that they possessed both genders. They are Hermaphrodites!

if they were asexuals, nothing about their social aspects would make any sense at all, nor would their rapid evolution.
The hoppas are capable of both inseminating themselves as well as breeding with other hoppas. This has applied since the very first hopping flouz.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. This is what you get when I don't get enough sleep, occasional glitches in brains.

Just go with it for the Adonis hive frilla.

Also hmm.... Time for frilla to evolvulate again!

And my thanks to you Hoppa Fag! Your work for the seedlings was awesome.

With the newfound mentality of true symbiotic relationship, the seedling Frilla will only grow when the Frowgs need them to. This has led to larger herds, and an advance in language between Frowgs and Frilla, entirely made of bioluminescent flashes, spore hallucinogens that actually contain thoughts, ideas, and reasoning, and the budding psionic relation between the Frilla seedlings and their Frowg riders.

As the adoni continue to grow with their HiveFrillas their population begins to skyrocket. The ground near the fairly large trees (not skyscrapers like their cousins) is thick with adoni sucrrying about on their business. To this end the adoni have begun to grow terraces in their home trees. On these more spires and plants are cultivated.

The Calix Yantar no longer have any reason to have large blooming flowers. The adoni workers have adopted the yantar's alluring sent as their trailer markers. This has the added benefit of bringing in prey from far away.

The pozen fields are growing and providing secondary food sources, and homes for adoni as the spires grow ever larger. The 4 species grow and live in relative piece.

Some of the other HiveFrilla have more toxic frilla plants, hrass cultivation, or even tamed stelvacs. These goods are traded across the adoni's pathways to make each hivefrilla that much stronger.
