Twitter for next thread time: HereticalLoveQ

At long last, after evading some lax guards and fighting off a Cyclops, you found what was buried so long ago in the hell of the destruction at Pompeii.

A man made out of water.

Who now claims he has some good dirt on one half of the family that deals in the bodies of the rended witches. At least he seems quite eager to impart the information on to you.

"Well you could say we're here to destroy your family, I suppose. Depends on how involved they are in all of this I suppose." You cross your arms as you stick a cigarette between your teeth.

"Hah! I know my family well enough to say with earnest, that whatever it is you're talking about, they are probably involved." Faustus laughs in his gurgling, watery laugh.

"You seem quite confident." Kiara raises an eyebrow.

"Well! What can I say? Anyways, what they are doing currently is of little interest to me. I'm trapped down here, I don't care about out there. All I want is for you to bring them... Misfortune, if you will. It's been quite troublesome to be buried, after all. Especially with just a Cyclops, those creatures can't even learn the most basic of..."

"The point, get to the point!" Kiara berates Faustus, who sighs and shakes his head.

"Ah yes, the point. I suppose you've not merely come to chat, after all. Tell me, little girl, what do you know about fiends?"

    "Fiends?" Kiara's eyes narrow.

"Indeed, fiends." Faustus nods with what you think might be a grin.

"Humans turned into monsters, drawn to sources of magic. What of them?" Kiara's voice sounds exasperated, you know she doesn't like it when people don't get to the point.

"Ah, so they are." Faustus nods again, "But... What then makes a fiend?"

"A human, what of it?!" The witch barks, not bothering to mask her annoyance.

"Indeed, a human. Though not just any human, for mundane blood a fiend is not. Fiends, you see, were once like one of us. Magic users, those blessed with the gift of power unimaginable to simple humans."

"I don't get it. I thought you were going to give us some dirt on your family, not a lecture about fiends." You raise an eyebrow, chewing on the cigarette.

"And what makes you think that they aren't one and the same?" Faustus smiles darkly, his watery form sharp enough for you to notice it now. "You see, human, magic users aren't free of our own diseases. Much like you can catch the wasting disorder and shrivel to a corpse, so can we turn to fiends."

"Which correlates with your family how?" Kiara's eyes narrow.

"I'm no doctor, nor am I an expert on fiends. What I can tell you, is that my family is cursed with a higher rate of the disease than any other. A shameful blight upon our proud lineage, to be sure. One that the patriarchs wished to remain... Less than public knowledge."

"So does this have anything to do with a witch's body? One already rended?"

Faustus gives you a puzzled look, as though unsure of what exactly you're asking.

"Rended? Body? I've never heard of such things."

"It happened well after your time. A new Order of witch hunters, likely linked to the descendents of your family, found a way to split a magic user into three parts. Mind, body, and soul. As you can surely tell, I am not complete, I need my body. It would seem that your descendents take a particular interest in the bodies of magic users." Kiara fills him in on the details.

"Ah, I see. Well I can tell you that my family has long been searching for an answer to our curse, some way to free ourselves of the plague of the fiends. Certainly anyone linked to our blood would wish for a cure of some kind, to end our disgrace. Quite interesting, this rending..." Faustus muses.

"Think they might be doing some experimenting of their own?" You look sidelong at Kiara, who shrugs.

"I wouldn't put it past them, though my intuition tells me they aren't at the root of all of this. Certainly they wouldn't be against using the current status quo for their own gain."

Oh crap, I'm late. Good thing it's slow, I guess.

We should probably just get as much info as we can about where the family is likely to be, and where they'd keep things they want safe (other than here). We're bound to have alerted someone by now. Might offer to set him free, if we can.
And is the wasting disorder he mentioned just the plague, or is it something we need to be concerned about?
    >> Papa-N !!z0ABcqUnNAP 04/21/12(Sat)18:47 No.18807143
"Wouldn't be the first time." Faustus chuckles.

"Well shit, this doesn't help us out much." You sigh. "What else do you know about this fiend disease?"

"Only what we knew at the time, certainly they've found out more by now if they've kept up the search for an answer. It takes us when we're young, at the height of our natural talents. It starts off slowly enough, an unquenchable thirst for magic. Eventually the afflicted cannot take in enough to meet their needs, bleeding it far too quickly to replenish. Like a sponge caught out in the open air, they become shriveled, until they end up like what you've seen... A hollow shell that is forever drawn to sources of power, until the disease takes them too far, and silences them once and for all."

"They die?" You ask after Faustus finishes his description.

"Eventually, yes. The rate is dependent on the individual power of the diseased. One such as you, girl, would take quite some time to wither."

You glance at Kiara again, eyes drawn to the malevolent smirk slowly spreading.

"We've seen fiends recently, Faustus. I know your family well enough to know that if they had a cure, they would sell it out to any others for a high price. Either they aren't sharing, or they have yet to come up with any such cure." Kiara looks over at you, "Which means, mortal, that there is a good chance that we have a nice bit of blackmail."

Wouldn't blackmail require some sort of active magic user society to disclose the information to? They might be in league with the Order, but I don't see why they'd care. Unless there are a lot more MUs underground than we think, I just don't see how we could leverage this anymore.

How are we supposed to leverage this and why is your magical family in league with an order of witch hunters?

Who would we threaten to disclose this to, it's not like we can say we'll visit the head of the Bleeding Sword over tea and let him know all about your fiendosity.

Also, not to be rude, but how in hell did you end up as a pool of water?

Wasting disease/disorder is what the ancient world referred to cancer as.

"Never took you for the blackmail type."

"You don't topple an empire without a fair amount of blackmail and backstabbing, mortal."

"An empire?" Faustus asks with uncertainty.

"Yeah, little miss "Befriended of the barnyard" here apparently brought down the Roman empire. Things have changed a lot since you've been down here man." You jerk your thumb toward Kiara.

Faustus nods slowly, mulling it over.

"So it would seem. I can tell you one thing boy, kings come and go, but man never changes. He is always a greedy, deceitful creature. And women..." Faustus looks back toward Kiara, "Are certainly no exception."

"A point I won't deny." Kiara laughs once.

"I still don't get it, how do we use this as blackmail? Who do we tell?" You frown.

"Tell me, Faustus, what was the policy upon marriage? Was such information disclosed?" You can tell by the tone of her voice that she's holding quite a hand, she wouldn't make a great poker player.

"Disclosed? To those outside the immediate family? Outside of the patriarch and a handful of others? Certainly not. Who would wish to marry into such a curse?" Faustus grins right back at Kiara's own evil smirk, and nods his head, "Split them from the inside, girl, and the beast shall slay itself."

"So..." You ask, still a bit confused.

"You're family has intertwined quite heavily with another, Faustus. The Crispo family, one nearly as wealthy and influential as your own. I don't suppose, however, the the Medici would ever fully integrate, would they?"

"You're a clever one. No, certainly not. Nor would this other family, I suppose. I'd bet my honor that there is at least some divide, no matter how small and hidden it might be. Take it up with either side of the split, and turn it into a chasm. Either way, I would expect you'll find what you're looking for." Faustus chuckles as he nods his head.

"So they'll hand over her body one way or another, you think?" You ask the watery form in front of you.

"In lieu of an internal conflict? Yes. In the unmasking of a scandal such as this? Certainly. Appeal to one side, turn it against the other."

"Yeah, you make it sound easy. Is that how you wound up as a puddle buried inside the ruins of a city?"

"A man deprived of his rightful place is a man scorned, and a man scorned cares little for keeping such secrets as secrets, or avoiding taboo. I was to assume the mantle of our family's patriarch. A title I didn't take lightly. So when I was so wrongfully denied, well... The call of power corrupts all who can taste it, and I was no exception. Necromancy is the most disgraceful of all magic, you see. So disgraceful in fact, that my family would have rather me be little more than water and mind, than to raise an army of the dead in an attempt to reclaim my stolen crown." Faustus's eyes, little more than blue orbs, turn toward Kiara.

"Which means you must have been in quite a predicament, little girl, to have lowered yourself to such practices."

"Not a disgrace, eh? Tell me, boy, has she told you the conditions of what you are now? That at any moment, she can strip you of your free will? Or let you fall to the earth, dead once again? Make no mistake, she owns you, all of you." Faustus shakes his head as he stares right in your eyes, "Never fool yourself into thinking you've any real choices. You are a puppet, a tool. She can make you dance any dance she pleases... Don't let yourself forget that."

Faustus leans back and his form slowly begins to shrink, water cascading gently back down into the basin.

"Not that you will listen, I should think. If you've nothing more, than go. Go, and tell them, at the last moment, that Faustus has had his revenge."

You watch as the last few droplets of water fall to the pool beneath, which slowly becomes perfectly calm once more.

"Right... Well, no sense in staying here. Lets get going." You look over at Kiara, who nods despite her closed eyes.

    "Mortal..."

You glance over your shoulder at Kiara's VERY disapproving gaze.

"What? What?! Oh come on... You know you want to see what happens..."

She starts floating away without you, leaving you alone with the walls of illuminated death masks.

You sigh and zip yourself back up, "Party pooper..."

"She hasn't made me dance yet, Faustus. Otherwise she would have put a stop to my wise ass comments." You say quietly to the dais of water in front of you, which doesn't respond.

Side by side again after having caught back up, you and Kiara start back the way you came through the long earthen tunnel. Despite yourself, you can't help but keep a keen eye out for more mythical creatures down here. After all, one decked you in the face just a short while ago.

"Relax, mortal. There aren't any more down here, nor perhaps anywhere."

"Hah, sorry. I keep expecting Medusa to pop out of the wall and turn me to stone." You laugh and shake your head.

Something clutches the sleeve of your shirt, stopping you. You turn around to see Kiara floating behind you, gaze on the dirt floor.

"He's not lying, you know. About necromancy. That day we first met, when I brought you back, that is the reason I told you I'd never wanted to do something like that. It's not like we can really help her with that, though. If our free will goes, then our ability to pester her about morality will probably go with it.

Anyway, she was pretty much straight-up with us from day one that we were doomed to be enslaved to her for all eternity. The only carrot she's ever dangled in front of us as far as that goes was letting us die if we asked- and even that, she said she'd only do after we got her body and soul back.

So we're under no illusions about how pretty this is. We just like making the best of things... since it's not like complaining or being depressed would get us anywhere.

It doesn't take long to get back to the ventilation system, but it does take a lot of cursing and climbing to haul yourself back into it. Kiara lets you know she's still got the electronics disabled, so you start back up the way you came in.

After her telling you the coast is clear, you hop out onto the top of the hill and quickly make your way back down. Damon and Sarna are both still waiting for you, each now halfway through a gelato.

    "Chocolate!" Sarna beams.

"I'd like to think I'm one of the best. Why?"

"So you could track down the Medici and Crispo families, right? I know they are one and the same now, but there has got to be at least one leader of each family still. I'd like to talk to at least one of them."

Damon raises an eyebrow, and it doesn't take much to guess that he at least knows they are involved in the current state of affairs somehow.

"Well sure, I can probably find them both."

I think finding the Crispo side has the most potential overall, they will stand to gain (from their viewpoint) by 'working' with us to get more dirt on the Medici side and therefore will be less likely to betray us untill after they get what they want, trying to straight up blackmail the Medici will likely just result in them doing their best to kill us and likely revealing our location to the order.

You quickly fill Sarna and Damon in on what you learned, both of them react with no small amount of surprise.

"To think that they are heavily inflicted by the fiend disease, after all this time... Yeah they would want to keep that secret." Damon nods.

"So gross, they turn into those things a lot?!" Sarna makes a disgusted face.

"For what it's worth, I think the Crispo side would be the ones to go to. The Medici's already know this shit and might be harder to play. Not much stopping them from just trying to kill us off if they find out we know. Well, I guess they probably are already trying to kill us off... So the Crispo's seem like the ones to go to." You ponder out loud.

"The Medici are hard to bargain with or cheat, always were... I'd say going to the Crispo side will yield us the best result." Kiara agrees.

"Well, I guess that settles that. Going to take me a few days at least, easy to find the family in all likelihood. Harder though, to discern which side is which and who best to talk to." Damon hops down off of the railing he'd been sitting on.

"Heading off now?" You ask, surprised.

"Oh. Well yeah that makes sense."

Sarna, I spend half my day mocking her and giving her silly names and I'm doing just fine. The worst that she has done is interrupt my shower with magical goats. She is nowhere near as scary as she seems, to her friends at least. Try to look past her admittedly terrifying reputation and see the adorable girl underneath.

"Well I think this decision is right. If I had to pick, I'd pick the Crispo side to try to reason with. Its not like I'll be in any danger, I'm pretty damn good at staying hidden." Damon keeps trying to calm the fretting Sarna down while you and Kiara watch from the sideline.

"I hate kids." Kiara gripes through gritted teeth.

"Oh come on, they aren't all bad." You chuckle.

"Relax Sarna, I don't think she bites. Not you, at least...." Damon glances over at Kiara and then at you.

    "I really hate kids."

"Yeah she's not all bad, Sarna. She puts up with me giving her names and whatnot." You try to cheer the little girl (who's considerably older than you) up.

"S-still...." Sarna looks up at the glaring Kiara before hiding behind Damon.

"Also kid, can you deal with those soul boxes of mine? Seems like you've got the plan on handling them. "

"Sure, they're back with your motorcycle, right?"

    "Yep. In the saddlebag."

"Yeah I'll take care of them somewhere out of the way. A few more jars for my belt I guess, until we can figure out something better." Damon nods.

"Don't worry, I'll be back." Damon tells Sarna in his best terminator impression, before patting her on the head and starting off toward the parking lot. Sarna seems to deflate a bit as she watches him go.

"She's got a point though, what are we going to do while we wait for Damon to get us some info?"

I know this is Papa-N trying to make Sarna look cute, but I can't bring myself to forget that she's a 400 year old witch who has been busy killing other witches for most of it for the sake of survival. All I can see is a cold calculating mind under the bubbly exterior, constantly evaluating our potential as tools to either destroy the order, or a bargaining chip in case it looks like things are going to go south for her.

And yeah, we should check in with the conspiracy nut (what's his name, again?) and let him know what we've found out. Other than that, I guess we just stay low, and try not to look too much like a pedophile.

"Been a while since I made some calls. I wonder how everyone is doing stateside."

"I doubt that fool will know anything useful or relevant, but I suppose if you must check in." Kiara sighs and starts floating back toward the bike. You figure you'll head to the nearest gas station and buy some disposable phones.

Sarna stays noticeably on the side of you opposite Kiara, keeping an eye on her as though she might at any moment pounce and eat her alive.

"I could, certainly an easy source of magic power..." Kiara looms over you, poised above Sarna, who cowers. "If I didn't think she'd taste so bad." She smirks before backing off.

"Big bro... I worry about her..." Sarna grabs you around the arm and rests her head against your side, doing her best to hide.

"Relax, she prefers to eat grass, not kids. Also you," You frown at Kiara, "Play nice."

Back in the mob of tourists once more, it isn't difficult to stay hidden in the crowd. They aren't checking people on the way out, so you have no problems just mingling with the herd and following them out of the historical area.

"Its so nice to be outside again! I was getting so bored trapped inside that dingy old factory for the most part!" Sarna runs ahead and leaps onto the back of the motorcycle.

"See, she's not all bad." You smirk at Kiara.

Until the motorcycle, propped up only by its kickstand, lists a little too far from the rambunctious little witch and....

"Ooof!" Sarna barely manages to catch it in time, saving it from a crunched side.

Kiara gives you a long look.

"Ok well, she may be a handful, but at least she's a cheerful handful..."

You climb onto the motorcycle and Sarna grabs you from behind. Kiara sighs before taking a seat behind the little witch. Makes it kind of a cramped ride...

We've survived attacks from an ancient order of witch hunters, dropped a ceiling on an immortal knight, taken out a Havoc helicopter with the pilot wired into the computer and a witch.

All this pales in comparison to the bickering of two witches, nothing has prepared us for this.

Thankfully Sarna is light and Kiara seems to be weightless when she wants to be, so the bike doesn't handle much differently. Though Sarna doesn't seem to grasp how to lean, which is a skill you've never found a female passenger capable of.

It doesn't take long to find a gas station, though now that you're in Yurop, you call it a petrol station so you don't seem TOO out of place. Well, you're accent and noticeable lack of speaking Italian peg you as a foreigner no matter what you do.

Lucky for you, they sell cheap votophone tracphones. The cashier gives you a funny look when you gesture that you want ten of them, and another look when you flop down a stack of American bills. A shrewd businessman, he must know it's more than enough for the phones and whatever is lost in the translation to Euros, because he pockets the money and bags the phones.

As he should have, there was at least a hundred bucks over what it should have taken, but you don't feel like tracking down an exchange joint.

Outside the station, you get to unboxing and programming the new phone.

A few Italian police give you and Sarna strange looks from their car, but pastries in hand, make no motion to question you. She waves at them as she delves in to yet more gelato, and one waves lazily back.

"What a dorky little car they've got." Sarna giggles.

After fumbling with the phone to get it into English (Sarna keeps trying to get you to read the directions, but you're not a woman), you get it set and dial up the number.

It rings once, and you expect it to be answered.

    Until it rings again.

    And a third time....

Oh, nice to meet you Arcinter, good to meet you, couldn't you have put this off until I had finished my current stack of shit to do, I'm a bit swamped.

Honestly Arcy, can I call you Arcy, you seem to have gotten what you deserved, you sound like a complete dick. Your master plan for taking out Kiara seems to involve tracking down a crazed conspiracy theorist who thinks Fema and space lizards are behind it all, I would have figured with hundreds of years to plot you would have a better plan. I'm not particularly impressed.

I'll let the eternal mistress of goats know that you're on the line, we'll see if she wants to talk or if she's washing her hair.

"You? Man its all water over the... I mean... That ship is sunk... Well shit, howya doing Arcinter? I'm going to call you Arcy by the way. This is the best plan you came up with? After a few thousand years? Really man?"

"You're one word away from me frying your friend's brain with his own fluids."

You put your hand to the phone to block the microphone.

"Fucking shit, Kiara, how many fucking kingdoms did you have to mess with? Its that fucking Magos asshole "King of the seamonkeys", the one with Alexander's body or some shit!" You scowl.

The color seems to drain from Kiara's face, and for a moment she appears off guard. Until her eyes begin to glow, and wind whips up around you.

"Give. Me. The. Phone." She bites out.

You start to hand it to her, and she violently snatches it up.

"So good to talk to you, Magos. Tell me, is this pathetic attempt the best you could come up with? I'd expected better from you to be honest... To hell? I've already been to hell, and I'm back now. Men better than you tried to silence me for good, and those men failed."

She grips the phone hard, her face a mix of outright fury and perhaps even a bit of amusement.

"When and where?... Oh I'll be there, and this time I'll make sure to drown you for good." She crushes the phone, the pieces lighting aflame before turning to ash and blowing away in the wind.

"So back to the states, then?" You shrug.

She pushes you toward the bike.

    "Drive." She hisses dangerously.

"Answers later, drive now." She swings onto the bike behind you, before clearing room for Sarna, which surprises you a bit.

"Where are we supposed to go, anyways? Another boat?"

"Not fast enough. He's going to kill your friend in twenty four hours if we don't show up first. As little as that matters to me, he'll also disappear and I won't get a chance to kill him."

"Uhh... Whats going on, big bro? Scary big sis?" Sarna asks innocently, unaware of the situation.

"Well uh, shit. That doesn't leave us many options to get home..."

"Unless you want your friend to die and for the Magos to disappear, it has to be a fast way." Kiara tells you again.

Which still doesn't leave you many options. You wish you could call up Diego, but he would never make it to Italy and back in time. Even if he bought that Mig, it wouldn't have enough space for all of you.

"Get driving." Kiara tells you again.

    "Going to make me?"

We could probably magic our way onto a commercial flight, but we'd want to at least get out of the country before we do that. The problem is that whatever we do, we're going to end up attracting Order attention, and we don't know if he's working with them. He doesn't like them any, but he could still be in cahoots.

Ok, magicking our way across draws too much attention and will ping every single radar around. Boats are too slow so we're stuck with a plane.

I'd rather avoid a commercial flight, there is going to be order presence at major nearby airfields and there is a lot more hassle with customs and the like that we'll have to mindscrew our way through.

We want to find a private aircraft, a bizliner or something like that. We can magic our way on and there is a much smaller number of people to deal with, we get to set our own schedule so we'll get there faster and we don't have to sneak weapons through customs.

So we need to find where a transatlantic capable business jet is and get to it. Call up boogie wizard, let him know our plans, see if he knows where to find one. Once we're in the air, given that it's a private jet it ought to be nice and luxurious at least, we can pry some answers out of Kiara.

I was hoping on putting off our confrontation with this fuck until we had your body back, I dislike being forced into a fight with a prepared foe without your full complement of Mojo.

    DRIVE SON

We've got 24 hours. We should ideally be in the air with at least 8 hours to spare. That gives us 16 to find a plane.

16 hours on the road from Pompeii can take us to a major airport in a country that isn't Italy. I would suggest Croatia, preferably the one in Pula or Zagreb. From there we either fly commercial with mindfuck, or find a private jet to hijack. The second option appeals because we can avoid the terminal and any scanners that way.

I was assuming magic boost and a fast plane but yeah more time is good.

~8 hours drive from Pompeii to Pula and you have to cross through a pretty serious border checkpoint to get into Croatia from Slovenia. Switzerland and Germany are pretty much out because lolalps. We can be in Marseille in ~9 hours but our odds of not getting Order'd on the tarmac there aren't any better than Napoli or any other Italian airport, though it will cut our flight time a little bit. Or we could just go balls to the wall and jack a plane right there in Naples.

After that we are looking at a little over 8 hours in the air, depending on where in the US we are headed.

Or we could just not go, but this guy isn't about to give up and may go for our dad or something next. Or Kiara will just make us go anyway.

We should find a small airport somewhere relatively close by. Order presence would hopefully be lower than at a major hub.
We don't know how much Arcy knows, but if he's had to rely on conspiracy dude to find us, it's probably a safe bet that he's fairly well in the dark about our specifics.
I'd definitely support not going at all. Losing our contact would be a pain, but we've already got leads on Kiara's body. And I don't think she'd force us into going, mainly because we could probably convince her not to. Getting her body should be our first objective here.

"I'll drive, but we're not being stupid and running right into this thing. We're going to need some kind of plan or we'll get wasted. I'm thinking we head to a private airfield. That should give us enough time to make it back stateside."

"We can come up with a plan, but for now we need to move. Just get us to an airfield and I'll take care of it from there." Kiara presses, and you relent and get the BMW moving.

"Damon and I took a private jet here out of Naples. It was pretty easy to trick our way on, actually..." Sarna pipes up.

"Hey Sarna, do you know how to get in contact with Damon? If we can't take him with us, I'd at least like to let him know what we're up to."

"Well, I can get in contact with him, but not fast enough for him to come along. Besides, I doubt he would, he's on the trail now I'm sure." Sarna raises a hand up, and the damnedest thing happens.

A small bird lands on her finger, quite gently despite the speed of the bike.

Sarna pulls the songbird down toward her chest, closes her eyes and whispers something to it, before throwing her hands up and releasing the bird once again.

"You can talk using... Birds...? You know what, don't answer that. I'm not surprised by shit anymore."

You keep pushing the bike hard, keeping an eye out for any signs alluding to an airport. The nearest is probably Naples, so you head west. There's probably a private field somewhere along the way.

Your plan is to get to an airport and magic your way onto a private jet, before scooting fast to the USA and finding out where to go from there... You've had worse plans, but this one seems rushed. You hope at least the flight will give you time to pound out some actual details.

    Consider the following:

    >going after this guy

Pros: get a potentially very dangerous third element out of the way, left alone he could fuck us over as we try to outrun the church, protect our family who he is likely to go after next, possibly save our bro even if its highly likely that hes dead.

Cons: This is a trap, its a trap, its a trap.

    >Not going after him

Pros: frees us up to continue with plans in Europe like the Medici plans/getting our body, dodge an obvious trap

Cons: This fucker is free to fuck with us later on at his convenience, could bite us in the ass while looking for our body, he will go after our family, even if its a slim chance, our bro might be alive, Kiara will NOT be happy with our choice, hell she might not let us make it at all.

His Identity has been compromised, if they found him once, THEY CAN DO IT AGAIN.

Hell there's a good chance his contact list has been turned over to the church and being purged even as we speak.

If by some crazy ass chance that he's still alive and we manage to rescue him alive, he's probably useless as an informant, his identity is compromised so we can't trust any info he gathers, and if we take him with us, we're not going to blend in with the obviously crazy person haging around us.

Better to walk into a known trap than to get blindsided by an ambush later. Besides, Diego would probably be up for some help, say with a tank. We know its a trap, which means we should be able to counter it. We have Sarna and Damon for magic, and mafia links for guns/bombs, both of which he shouldn't know about. At the least, even if kenji dies, we will know we don't have to worry about that guy anymore. Personally I'm more worried that he might be able to pull a F/SN Berserker, and laugh off everything.

In all seriousness though, the guy's done nothing but right by us and despite his inanity, he has confirmed quite a few of our leads or theories. We should save him if we're able.

That being said, we should also try to come up with a plan that doesn't involve us rushing in and getting killed. We should also assume that there is more than one trap, and that one of them isn't just at Kenji's, but probably someplace like the airport where we'll be landing.

    Let's not underestimate this guy.

Despite knowing full well you're heading into a trap, you can't help it. This guy's been a friend and a damn good ally. Even if you'd hardly known him, you wouldn't be YOU if you juts let him die.

No, you can't do that. That isn't how you roll.

"You think we have some kind of fighting chance if it comes down to magical fisticuffs?" You ask Kiara.

"Hard to say. I bested him once, but that was a long time ago. You aren't useful as much else other than a meatshield unless we can get you some platinum ammo. Sarna here will be useful... After a bit of a magical gift..." Kiara mumbles.

"I get presents?!" Sarna pipes up.

"I'm going to make your fists potent enough to level buildings, now hush up."

    "COOL!"

"Platinum ammo? Well... Diego might be able to come up with something, I suppose..." You shrug.

Sarna informs you that you're nearing an airfield, and which direction to take. You follow along, as she's already done this once.

"He isn't going to fight fair, that much I can tell you. Expect traps, expect tricks." Kiara sighs.

"My friend is alive, right?" You ask the question that's been plaguing your mind since handing off the phone.

"For now, yes. He made that quite clear. I could sense him in the background noise."

The airfield is a smaller, private one. Sure enough, a Learjet sits out on one of the longer runways. Sarna yells and points triumphantly at the plane. You approach it on the bike, and Kiara tells you she's got the pilot already convinced you're his boss and to prep the plane to head to the states.

While the pilot and ground crew get the plane prepped and fueled, you take the time to dig out a new phone and get it ready. This time much quicker and without any women pestering you over instruction manuals.

Taking a seat on the stairs of the jet, the girls already seated inside, you light up a much-needed Marlboro and think for a moment. Diego needs to know, and you need ammo.

    Lots of ammo.

You dial him up, and the phone rings twice.

"Hey kid! Was wondering when we'd hear from you again! Your dad's been wondering if you're coming along to the cemetery or not, he really wants you to go, you know."

"Yeah, I know. Listen... I'm into some trouble again. You know the kind. I need some platinum ammo in 5.45x39 and .357sig at least. Think you can get me maybe a thousand rounds for the rifle and two hundred or so for the handgun?"

Diego is quiet for a few moments.

"Yeah, I can do that no problem. Your dad will have to front the bill, won't be cheap. Think some platinum jacketed FMJ rounds will work?"

"Probably, but make a few at least out of straight platinum." You tell him.

"Well shit, just been one bad day after another eh? Didn't even get my Mig." Diego sighs.

    "What? No?"

"Nah. Seller tried to kill me for the cash. Dumped him in the ocean, what was left, anyways. Mig got shot up in the firefight." He sounds a bit sad.

Though we'll probably won't get all that many strafing runs out of it due to it being very noticeable and likely to draw in the government, but you don't need that many strafing runs from an A-10.

I can't resist. I had one fly over me so close as a kid that I waved up at the pilot and he had time to wave back. He was going that slow and he was that low.

The BRRRTTT, it calls to me.

    But I'll respect /tg/'s choice.

I'm sort of guessing that we'll be attracting plenty of attention anyway.
I wonder if the sidewinders could be aimed at a ground target with some help from Sarna or Kiara. a shot from 20 miles out going 1900 mph might be useful.

An A10? well shit, that might just do the job. And seriously, Diego is totally a former PC. We definitely want him along, and as much as i would love to see Mr. wizard get BRRT"d to death, its a bit too inaccurate for a hostage situation. On foot,. with .50 call full platinum bullets in the biggest gun he has. And a rocket launcher or two, cause I still get F/SN Berserker vibes from the whole body of Alexander. Is it just me there, or is anyone else worried about what he got up to with that body?

No but then I've yet to track down a functional copy of F/SN

Haven't looked all that hard tbh though, bunch of other things on my list.
    >> Anonymous 04/21/12(Sat)23:49 No.18810376
Would a high caliber bullet just punch right through him? Platinum doesn't seem to affect Kiara much when it's not actually touching her, so it might not be that effective.

Frangible ammo then? That'd be some shit, platinum powder with a binder. On impact it gets ALL UP everywhere in the wound and into your blood and shit.

Wonder if we could platinum dust him run then have Diego do a run on him when hes distracted/weakened.

"A hand? No. A GAU-8 and a thousand plus rounds of pure fuck you? Yeah, yeah I want that."

    You hear Diego chuckle.

"Also can you make the 5.45 ammo frangible? I don't want to just punch holes."

"Frangible? Platinum? Probably, I know a guy who does pretty good work with custom ammo. I'll contact him through a few third parties and get him on it."

"Excellent. I'm headed back to the states right now, make sure dad is safe will you?"

You hear some commotion in the background, a few excited, drunken shouts.

"He's got a room full of his old KGB buddies over and triple guard, he's pretty secure at the moment."

    "How secure?" You press.

"Secure enough I wouldn't try to assassinate him."

    Ah, so pretty damn secure.

It seems like it might be the best idea, especially if Kiara and Sarna can keep distract him.
    >>18810411
This seems like the best shot at it. Maybe even bury it in the mag a little so he thinks we're just using normal bullets.

    Looking forward to it.

We could ask Kiara about heightened reaction times. Magic might sort of nullify the advantage supersonic ammo would give us.
    >> Anonymous 04/22/12(Sun)00:04 No.18810563
    Diego wouldn't assassinate.

Means that all the KGB buddies are what Putins public image looks like combined with Fedor Emelianenko.
