Sorry for the delay, here we go!
    >> MachineSpirit !!ZwhWAwcuTHG 04/24/12(Tue)19:53 No.18847713
You are Elesh Phryx, rogue techpriestess and captain of the Sword class frigate 'Sword of the Omnissiah'. Currently you stand with your Chief Enginseer Advi, debating the finer points of how to spend your remaining requisition. Magos Grumman stands nearby, offering what advice he deems applicable to your conversations. "Captain, I believe that our best course of action is to upgrade our purchased engines, to an improved Lathe-class design, and mining systems to better deliver and use power. We'd be able to forgo the Auxiliary Plasma Banks and power a Sunsear Laser Battery on the dorsal mount. As for 'Sword', I believe we should remove the dorsal Mars Macrocannon armament. If we procure a second Sunsear for 'Sword', I believe I could bypass our lack of space and power by converting the two dorsal mounts into the equivalent of a dorsal broadside." Advi's mechadendrites flirt about her body with mild excitement at the mention of such a feat, while Magos Grumman suddenly becomes more interested in your conversation.

"Would that not result in a net loss of firepower?"

"Minor, but yes. We would also have trouble splitting our weapons fire effectively, but we have a small amount of requisition remaining. We could either upgrade our purchased Sunsears to increase their firepower; take the power lifters to increase our factory ship's production and cargo loading; or we could outfit 'Sword' with a medicae deck and the factory ship with extended supply vaults."

"What sort of increases are we talking about?"

"I estimate we could bring the Sunsears to perhaps eighty percent of a pair of normal batteries. The power lifters could bring the factory ship's production of a full run down from perhaps a month to three weeks time."

    >approve Advi's plans? (purchase Sunsear Laser Battery x2, Upgrade Factory Ship Drive, remove Auxiliary Plasma Banks, Upgrade Mining Facility)

Power lifters. They can also be configured to mount heavy weapons sto help repel boarders or to help away teams if necessary. Though I'd imagine we'd have to procure said heavy weapons (autocannons and multilasers, I figure) separately.

servitors are -not- created in a medicae deck.

medicae decks are for -healing- meatbags, not converting them into superior less-thinky-meatbags.

you do now have the basics to supply creation of a servitor, though. Once you get those nifty tools you requisitioned and start churning out bionics.

Dunno how the vote ended last time, but being as how we are a swashbuckling, chick magnet... Errr.. Metal chick.... I vote style for the new arm. cons: varies by design, often INHUMAN

    Natural:
pros: +utility, concealable (with synth skin), +customization point
    cons: - durability, - str, - energy

    Balanced:
pros: favors neither Form, Function, or Energy
cons: suffers from lack of customization points

augmentation philosophy is an all-or-nothing deal.

you'll be able to craft augmentations using a different philosophy at any time, but will suffer a penalty in the crafting process.

INHUMAN will slowly make interaction with normal humans more difficult (Fellowship -)

an idea from the previous thread on our new arm,

the form will look like a normal arm, but it will have hidden compartments containing interface equipment which will allow us to have greater control over equipment which we shall customise to suit us and our needs. such as, having a direct interface to our plasma pistol would allow us to get instantanious feedback on the condition of our weapon, it's current preformance, and posibally even an accuracy bonus. or in terms of our specilist equpment, we could direcly connect our cogitators to it allowing for a more efficient tranfer of design specifications and a possible bonus to our work.

"We'll take the medicae deck and extend our supply vaults. You have command of all ship-related repairs and modifications, Advi. I'll be busy with my own challenges." Advi quickly excuses herself to begin her tasks, though Magos Grumman seems to have additional need of your time. After your Chief Enginseer departs, two more robed figures stalk into the room from a passage hidden within the chamber's far wall. You briefly consider reaching for your concealed laspistol, but your agitation is soon disipated by Canoness Irene's familiar voice. Familiar? The voice of an Order Militant's Canoness? Perhaps that is a poor omen for a privateer.

"Our apologies for confronting you in this manner, Captain Phryx, but some things need never occur."

"I understand, stranger." You briefly compare the size and stature of the third robed figure to Grumman and Irene, concluding that Canoness Laci's soft features lie behind the veiled hood.

"Then let us cut straight to the xeno's heart," Laci's voice is strangely colder than what you remember. "Elesh Phryx, we know what you are and where you hail from. By all rights we should have you and your crew purged and your assets siezed, but all present require friends and allies more than corpses. Athenia trusts you with her faith and more, and so I am willing to place my faith in her's." Both Irene and Grumman hold you in their gaze, while Laci's voice suddenly takes on a hint of venom. you currently have a Mind Impulse Unit (MIU) that can interface with equipment via either utility mechadendrite or a reasonable length of cable that hangs from your skull like a braid of hair.

"I'm sure that you are aware of the sector's current fleet dispositions, Captain. With the surrounding sectors in turmoil since the end of the past millennium, this warp storm plagued sector has been a haven for pirates. Rumor has it that a rogue trader dynasty has set up a neutral port in a hidden system to profit from these outlaws, and a rogue magos has even managed to set up a ship yard in this system. The Navy is widely known to field only a half-dozen cruisers and less than thirty smaller ships, while the Fabricator General of Feophe is rumored to have a pair of battlec ruisers and over a dozen cruisers alone."

"Rumors? I've seen both with my own cogitators and augers, Sister." interjects Grumman. Irene sighs as Laci and Grumman square off in a battle of dirty looks.

"What my esteemed colleges are attempting to say is that both we and certain officers within the Navy grow suspicious of Feophe and her growing claims of fiefdom, and we lack the strength to act should the situation be beyond our worries. Feophe conveniently misplaces shipments vital to our infrastructure while Serentus V's orbital docks remain inoperable. No sign of the ship yard that should have been laid down in this station decades ago. Our system defense fleet consists of less than a dozen escorts begged from sympathetic Navy commanders." You note the sister's clenched fists have gripped the hem of her robe's sleeves.

"There will be time for such complaints later. For now the captain will live longer without further knowledge of such things." Grumman regards you for a moment before he continues. "Your actions in Saregin's Path have lead to Feophe laying claim to 'Righteous Flame', citing my inferior status to the Fabricator General. The sisters may claim the ship as a holy site and assert their right to the ship, but the sororitas are unable to posess warp-capable warships by Imperial law. They can, however, posess and crew system defense ships, and enough Navy officers will support this course of action once the ship is declared unfit for warp travel. We need an ally that can procure certain components and perhaps note how the warp and void are harsh mistresses. Even now a certain component has been located and requires redirection."

"We also have need of a like-sized ship to break our crews in before they transfer from escorts. We happen to know of a ship that fits the bill and requires crew at the moment." Canoness Irene smiles as you finally realise what ship she refers to.

"How long would such a thing take?"

"Two, perhaps three months, though our crews lack actual combat experience. Perhaps you know of a fitting captain for the job?"

"Our time here has ended, a spider approaches. Details will arrive via Athenia, Captain." Irene and Laci both nod before quickly making their way from the chamber. As their secret passage seals, a trio of techpriests open the main doors and rush toward the Magos.

I suggest we don't get anything that can jam or overheat, though, those can destroy the arm.

    >>18849272
We don't really need any of those but the zappy, and that's pretty easy to add.

Also guys, remember, we can add shit to the non-bionic arm too. Though if we're going to replace it later we should bear that in mind and not get anything too hard to remove/transfer... A Thief's Light sounds good though, for a start. Also Blackbone Bracing.

consensus seems to be on "Natural" philosophy

You have [quality] + 2 customization points to allocate (poor = 1, good =2, etc)

You may apply these points to either strength, durability, energy, or utility. the order you list your points in = priority. Final quality (and points) will depend on your crafting rolls, but max @ 5 for your skill level and philosophy bonus.

You may also dedicate your time to constructing a "self crafted" cyber mantle and/or potentia coil (or other augments)

You will be eligible for arm integration in 4 weeks time.
your Factory ship will be operational in 7 weeks time, 'Sword of the Omnissiah' in 4.
recovery time after implantation is 3 weeks.

you may allocate weeks (1 week = 1 roll). Final quality depends on degrees of success.

You spend five weeks deep within the confines of Magos Grumman's workshops, striving to craft the image of perfection that lingers in the recesses of your mind. The first week is spent in frustrating failure as you experiment with various theories that swirl in your mind, but ultimately you disgard the results in disgust. Week two sees you laying down the basic structures of your new arm, planning your various customizations in your head as a new arm is born into existance under the Omnissiah's blessed machine tools. Inspiration strikes you on the third and fourth weeks as you lavish a kind of loving attention to every detail of your arm and call upon all of your training and intimate studies of the flesh's methods of form and function. On the final week you struggle to supress the flesh urges stirred by the previous weeks, though you manage to precisely eliminate any potential future stress flaws with the exacting eyes usually associated with aeronautica enginseers and craftsmen.

"Oh? Perhaps you'll help me to get her to confess to such, then. I do enjoy the ways that information can be gathered in a friendly manner." You mercilessly tease poor Kelly for the remainder of the trip back to 'Sword of the Omnissiah'. Oh, how you wouldn't mind seeing such a heavenly set of curves crafted by your own hands upon a mighty forge. 'Heavenly Forge'... Question Athe, we should get a few answers. Then inspect the forge ship.
Great thread as always OP, hope to make it back in time for Thursday!

I say we start off by questioning Athe next thread. Then charts after that.

The charts can wait for now. I'd rather find out what roll Athe has been playing in this intrigue we have found ourselves drawn into. It seems she's been keeping some secrets from us.

Perhaps we should bring Athe and perhaps Kelly as well to our quarters supposedly for the purpose of celebrating our return to active duty and the commissioning of our new ship. Have plenty of booze around, and when Athe is thoroughly intoxicated, see if we can coax her into revealing what she knows about this matter of the fabricator general.

I'm pretty sure we won't need to do much coaxing, given a) her past behaviour and b) that we were told she'd be the one they give information to to pass onto us.

    ...Digi las pistol?
There are Laspistols and Digi-lasers. We have the first, which are what you use as a Concealed Weapon Implant, and we don't have the second, which you wear on a finger as a ring.

Well which ever we can conceal in a finger. That's why I said leave a spot for later if a compact Las pistol doesn't for and we need a digi weapon.
Start charts can be reviewed later, but we just spent the past few Weeks Building, then attaching or arm... Need some "social" time with friends
