The year is 2025.

Your name is Dave, and you didn't ask for this.
Once a generic white-collar worker who lived alone save for your cat, you were hit by a car and spent three months in a coma. You awoke to find that your unconscious body had been taken in by the corporation 'Emulsified Electronics', and implanted with an experimental augmentation. You soon found that it allowed you to control electronic devices with your mind. You quickly became embroiled in corporate warfare, fighting the PMC ArmaTek and their employers, Cadmium Dynamics. EE also has constructed somewhat of a beneficial alliance with a corp called Kawasagi Infinite. You were recently kidnapped by a group calling itself Resurgence, who claims they're Saving The World. In retaliation, you went all the way to Antarctica, where you took over one of Resurgence's facilities. You, Lucca, and Amy are all currently living in Valhalla, gearing up to take out Resurgence.

>You have 10000 credits.
>You have 1 fate reroll.
>>
"What?" Lucca asked, looking to Amy. "Twelve's gunship left the water?"

<According to my all-seeing, all-powerful eye, they are flying towards NearFuture City.> Daedalus claims. <Unless they are quite cunning, that is.>

>Ooh, I get my own troll to pet and feed and play with. I'll name him George.

"Well." You say, slipping on your helmet. "Let's get going, shall we?"

Amy rolled her neck. "I'll control Jormungandr from here. Lucca, your drones should be able to keep up if they cling to Jormungandr's surface. It's power shield and cloaking should protect them as well."
Lucca saluted, then put on the mask of her power suit. "Ready." She said.
"I figured I'd pilot the drone." You say.
"Then what? You figured I'd go out there, while still injured?" Amy asked.
>>
>>19238833
"I was thinking more about range than anything else. Can you really pilot it all the way in liberty city? Well, regardless we're wasting time here, you pilot Jormungandr."
>>
>>19238833
You make an excellent point, you pilot Jormungandr and blow a massive hold through that gunship.

Hey Lucca, when we're trying to fire the Disintegration Cannon the shields don't work, mind using some of your drones as ablative armor to help with that?
>>
"I was thinking more about range than anything else." You say. "Can you really pilot it all the way in NearFuture City?"
Amy nodded. "I gave it an extra uplink, so I could control it on the other side of the world." She said.
"Regardless, we're wasting time here." You say, locking in the helmet and climbing into the Raven. "Hey, Lucca, when we're trying to fire the Disintegration Cannon, the power shielding doesn't work. Mind using some of your drones as ablative armor to help with that?"
"Well, I can set up the light drones to help with that, but I think the heavies would be best as extra firepower." Lucca responded, and her Raven kicked off into the air.

<I have something to note, Dread Lord Dave.> Daedalus said. <The gunship. . is slowing down near the coastal city of San Francisco. From my sensors, it looks as if they're under attack by rocket weaponry.>
>>
>>19238919
I'm a Dread Lord now, cool.

Can you find who's attacking them?
>>
"Can you find out who's attacking them?"
<Negative. There appears to be three of them, but I cannot identify them. They do not fit the standard battle tactics of KI, as they are too overt. They also do not fit the standard battle tactics of CD.>
"Well." Lucca said. "It seems we can be cavalry for whoever it is."
>>
>>19238952
"Maybe Resurgence is having an internal problem?"
>>
You soared down from above the clouds, and saw the gunship slowly flying through the air. From on top of a building, you see a small, light mech, crouched down. Two rocket pods on the mech's shoulders fire, the missiles smashing into some of the gunship's turrets. On one side of the mech, there was a man in a strange, bulky powersuit- one that doesn't rely on CD's synthetic muscle design- on one arm was a massive power claw, larger than the ones even on your heavy mechandrites. On the other side was a young woman with a backpack and a monomolecular sword, simply wearing a jacket and sunglasses.
The gunship's turrets twisted, and started firing at the mech. The mech and the suit, however, started running, skipping away from enemy fire. The woman hit something on her belt, and then. . blazed into blue light. When the light faded, she was gone.
It seems you aren't the only one who can teleport.
"What's the plan here?" Amy asked. "We taking out their turrets first and infiltrating, or just searing them in half?"
>>
>>19238996
"I want to kill twelve, without any doubts. I want him dead. We infiltrate, I go in, kill everyone, then we shoot it down.
>>
"I want to kill Twelve, without any doubts." You say. "I want him dead. We infiltrate, I go in, kill everyone, and then we shoot it down."
"Got it. Lucca, take out the turrets with your drones. Dave, you can land on the top and cut your way in. I'll provide you guys with cover." Amy said. "Ready?"
"Ready." Lucca said, and then you saw a bunch of heavy drones materialize out from where you knew Jormungandr was, and arc down toward the gunship, chainguns sparking against the enemy turrets.

You got a transmission from the mech. "Who the hell are you?" Came the gruff voice. "You ready to kick these guys' ass too?"
>>
>>19239057
"Yup. Just stay out of our way and we'll stay out of yours."
>>
"Yup. Just stay out of our way, and we'll stay out of yours."
"Got it, bro. Just don't blow the thing up yet. K's still in there."
>>
>>19239087
"I'm going in too, so tell K to avoid the guy with the mechandrites."
>>
"I'm going in too, so tell K to avoid the guy with the mechandrites."
"Got it." He said.

You dove out of the raven, landing on the top, near a destroyed turret. You drew out your smallest 'drites, and started using your plasma blades to cut a hole in the hull.
From the distance, on the other end of the gunship, one of the turrets turned toward you. .
A power claw tore it up, tearing it out of it's socket. The man in the non-CD power suit gave you a thumbs up, and tossed the turret over his shoulder.
You dove into the hole your plasma drites dug, and landed down next to two more turrets. The gunship shook, as if it had been hit by rockets.
"You'd better hurry, Dave." Lucca said. "I'm taking losses."

Your heavy drites catch the turrets before they turn toward you, and you tear them up, flinging them down the hall, where they slammed into and dented a blast door of some kind. You hear a woman cuss. You approach the blast door, and see a woman kneeling near the blast door's control panel.

"The cockpit's right through here!" The woman said- it was the one with the sunglasses, jacket, and backpack. "Here I was, hacking it open, when you had to dent it up! It won't even open anymore! What kind of idiot are you!" She called, pointing at you.

"Infiltrators are within the complex." Eleven says. "I repeat, Infiltrators are within the complex. Security, to blast door Gamma. Security, to blast door Gamma."

"Fuck you!" The woman called. "Maybe you could have done that *without* getting the alarms to go off?"

You redouble your efforts of ripping open the doors, but it's easier said than done.

There's another loud rending noise. Eleven starts to speak again, but you hack the intercom.
No queen, this time.
"Ugh, is that accordion?" The woman asked, as you pulled the doors completely open.
On the other side were three people, each with guns. The woman dived behind the doorway, as the three pulled the triggers, gauss projectiles bouncing off of your power shield.

You and her crawl through the open blast doors. "This way." She said, and skidded next to another blast door. She tore off the control panel, and started tinkering with the mass of cables behind it.

"Nah, I have a feeling this girl has some kind of vested interest in killing Twelve as well." You say.
"I'm K, not 'this girl'." She said. "I don't care about Twelve. As long as we stop Resurgence from fucking around with the scheme of things, I'm happy."
You shrug, and motion for her to continue. Three more people are standing there, guns at the ready. .
But from behind, something tears through the wall, bullrushing the three and knocking them down. It's the powersuited man you saw from before, a massive power claw for one arm.
"Sup."
"Yo." K said.
The gunship shook again.
"Let's continue, shall we?" Lucca asked.

You pull back, panting, and he's grinning at you.
He shrugged, but before you let him say anything else, you point all of your weapon drites at him, at the very edge of his shield, and start firing.

The resulting HE shells bowl you back, and when you look at him. . he's unharmed. Not even a scratch.
You bring your heavy drites down, and replace their current shells with. . something special from Grayson's Big Box of Explosives.

You fire two EMP shells against the shield, where they go. . through. His grin falls immediately, and then the room goes dark.

You're thirty six thousand miles above the earth. . and you're not alone.

---

The world is burning.
You're a great beast, sailing above a blue and white city made out of points of light. Your opponent is on the other side of the sky, floating toward you. He's not a winged, clawed beast like you, but more a kraken- a massive, tentacled beast made for crushing. On your back is your rider- a man with a great, blazing green spear. A jouster. The two of you collide in mid air, dragon and kraken spinning and falling into the burning city.
"I've been at this a lot longer than you, kid." You say, and thrust your lance into the kraken's eye. He roars in response, and tightens his grip.

You touch the terminal, and start tracing the connection, as quickly as possible. It goes to a satellite above south america, just like last time.. but nothing. The trail just slips off right ther-

"So, what?" You ask the technician. "This satellite should stop anybody who tries tracing us?"
"Only if they come from the outside in." The technician says. "Nobody will know that it comes to this city. It also has it's own AI, set to protect us."
"That'll be good." you say, and the technician glares at you.
"This is just for a fallback position." The technician says. "I don't want you coming back here and leading your enemies here."
You raise your hands innocently. "I wasn't planning to make Three take care of my enemies." you lie smoothly.
The technician continues glaring at you. "As long as you don't lead them here." He said, and you look out of the window.

Your eyes open.
You. . you know that city. Dave knows that city.
It's where you lived for the first sixteen years of your life.

"I, ah, wandered around a bit. A lot, actually. For months. I have the feeling that this is likely to come up while we're there, so I figured I'd tell you. . ."

". . . And then I never ever planned to go back there ever again." You say. "I essentially disinherited myself. It's been four years."

Yeah, just don't tell anyone else it isn't something I like to bring up. Given that it's entirely possible it'll come up while there I figured it was for the best if you knew.

And that is why I can play the piano, and knew exactly how to break your mother's composure.

"Like what?"
"Like the way you acted at dinner with my folks, and the way you can play classical music on the piano, and that strange, strange look on your face when I was telling you about that argument with my mom."
"Yeah, just try not to tell anyone. It's. . not something I like to bring up." You say.
"Well, duh." She said, arms wrapped around her shoulders. "If you're only telling me that *now*. But don't worry, mum's the word. When are we going?"
Well, Three's still probably off-balance from the loss of Twelve, so if you go now. .
But being hasty might not be the best choice.
>>
"I'm not sure." You say. "What time is it now?"
"It's midnight. You've been out for a few hours. But while Azure was making sure you were eating and doing all that sort of stuff, it was. . kind of creepy. I kissed her on accident, thinking she was you." Amy said, and bit her lip.

We need to figure out who Three REALLY is. We need to start roving through Twelve's memories.

I thought it could be Grimmauld, but either Grimmauld's buggered off to New York or it's someone else. If it isn't Grimmauld it's someone of similar character. We know that urbane voice, man.

"Well, that's awkward, but understandable. Um. Azure, would you mind explaining your thoughts on the matter? On speaker?"
>>

So, was Azure a good kisser?

We shouldn't be hasty, we should devote all available resources to getting Three's identity then smash him into paste. Going right to New York would play into his hands and I'd rather not stumble around there blind.
>>
>>19240723
Hah! I bet Azure LOVED that!
>>
"Well, that's awkward, but understandable. Um, Azure, would you mind explaining your thoughts on the matter? On speaker?"
"It was strange." Azure said through your helmet, which was sitting on the desk. "Very, very strange. Dave, I am never ever taking your body over again. At least not when there are any females in the area."
"But anyways." you say. "We shouldn't be hasty. We should devote all available resources to getting Three's identity and *then* smash him into paste. Going right to new york would play into his hands, and I don't want to do it blind."
"How do you propose we do it? Get his identity, I mean?" Amy asked.
>>
>>19240795
Three seems to be the money behind the operations.

So first we narrow down it down to the list of people who have the funds, resources and connections to pull this shit off. It's also an older man with an urbane voice, so that helps.

Then I sift through that by eliminating possibilities and sifting through Twelve's memories. Once that is done it will hopefully be found or we have a small list to work from and we can narrow it down in person and checking other facts against it like the times we know what Three was doing.
>>
>>19240795
"His voice is very familiar, so I have a hunch. But I need to review Twelve's memories for a bit. And unfortunately I might need Eleven to help."

>>
<You know, I had a feeling you'd turn out to be a reasonable man. I'm going to assume you're being honest, for now. Tell me, what is *your* faction's goal and method?>

< My faction may not be militant. . but we still insist on causing breakdown of the megacorps. Not through murder or blackmail or weaponry like Twelve, however. We're using money and stockholders and getting new laws drafted. We're not trying to change everything in a single month like Twelve's faction was, but. . we're gradually changing it over time.>

<What would your activities include if I accepted this ceasefire? Would you still be going after KI and EE, for example?>
<Yes.> He responds. <But not as you'd initially think. Grimmauld and the board would merely lose their jobs, while people you know, such as Dr. Viridian, would go to independant research facilities. Research that would change the world.>

<Imagine, Dave, if everyone worked for the greater good of all mankind, instead of working for their own corporations. With your friend Amy's power shield repulsion technology, and KI's hover plate technology, we could leave this planet and reach the furthest stars. With Dr. Viridian's bullfrog, and CD's synthetic muscles, we could restore true limbs to amputees, instead of a paltry prosthetic. With Project Immortal, we can prevent human beings from dying. With Van Co.'s atomic goop, we could create machines for those in third world countries. Resurgence aren't terrorists, Dave. We're not working to break the world. .but to unite it.>
>>

<Listen, I don't disagree with what your saying, nor do I particularly have a problem with how you're going to go about it, but I don't think it's feasible. This has been done... dozens of times throughout history. A small movement, out to change the world, big dreams for humanity... Even the ones that have succeeded corrupted their own dream, turned it into a bastardization of what they wanted. Your organization has already split up into two factions, one of which I took care of for you, and it's not even particularly big. I guess what I'm getting at, is what reason do I have to think your cause will be any different from the countless others like it?>
>>
>>19241094
That is a wonderful thought, very optimistic I'll say.

You do know that all of the technologies you're talking about just came from these Corps that you hate. Instead of trying to break them up just lend more support for ones like EE and KI who happen to be rather nice to work with, let them keep their jobs and focus on civilian applications.

Hell KI and EE are starting to work together, find joint applications of their tech, breaking them down now is going to be counterproductive towards your cause.

You don't need to break them down, if you do something nastier is going to step into their place.

<A lofty and respectable goal, Three. But people will suffer because of your slow erosion and destruction of the existing corporate infrastructure and economy, in your attempt to push us towards some fabled singularity. What if humanity isn't ready? What if the loss of the megacorps will only drive us back, and make your goal an impossibility until new ones rose? It was Marx who said, long ago, that capitalism and technology would have to reach the peak of decadence and advance heavily before a revolution, peaceful or militant, would be possible. The current system is necessary, for the time being; the competition, the ratrace, it motivates society to advance. We can do all sorts of subtle things to help this singularity and humanity along, and the odd heavy-handed action like taking down awful megacorps like Cadmium Dynamics to better things more directly, but I think even your faction is too hasty and its goal too high to reasonably reach like this, Three. But that's fine; you're not a murderer or an idiot like Twelve, you're a reasonable man and seem to really want to better people's lives as a whole. You know, on that note, the loss of his cells, and himself, seems to leave a gap in Resurgence...>

<I. . don't know.> Three admits. <I. . believe that by the time we succeed. . technology would have passed far enough that someone or something could keep watch over humanity. I just know that building everything for warfare and for combat. . is not the way to go about things. Even if the conflict causes technology to increase more quickly, the conflict still ends human life and human lives.>

<A lofty and respectable goal, Three. But what if the loss of the megacorps drive us back, and make your goal an impossibility until new ones rose? It was Marx who said, long ago, that capitalism and technology would have to reach the peak of decadence and advance before a revolution, peaceful or militant, would be possible.>
<And you say it hasn't already?> Three interrupts. <Tell me, Dave. We have infinite power, with the power cores, and even ten years after they've been invented, there's still people without power, without stable lighting, and burning up the rest of our fossil fuels to gain what we have. Why? Why have, even small power cores, not been given out to those people? We have the supplies, and we have the parts. .But the reason we don't is because it's 'not profitable'. Despite whatever you say, everything is about money at the end of it. EE and KI might be nice to *you*, but that's because you're useful. They want to use you as a pawn. They pay you obscene amounts of money and make sure you're always looking the other way.>
>>
>>19241319
I agree with your sentiments, I really do. But will dissolving the corporations that design and improve the power cores give them to third world countries?

All we have to do it make it profitable, I'm guessing you're rather rich, so you start building some infrastructure in places that need it, use your obvious connections to boards of directors to have long term plans there and start building it up.

It's not a perfect solution, I don't think there is one, but it's the safer bet. You don't have to tear them down, just make saving the world profitable.

Now that the corps aren't at war anymore and the militant arm of Resurgence isn't around instead of everyone trying to build the biggest baddest gun we can apply the stuff we learned there to make it a better place.

This sort of change doesn't happen overnight, if you move too fast you're likely to lose everything you've been working for this whole time.
>>
>>19241319
<It's awful that those people are still suffering, but it is their own leaders fault. It is not the Corps, but the warlords to blame for the plight of Africa and Southeast Asia. Surely you remember the relief effort started by the UN, they installed power cores by the dozens, distributed food, built schools... and then the warlords weaponized the power cores, and used them to seize power. As soon as we realized we were doing more harm than good, it stopped. The Corps are not to blame for the plight of those people.>

<Very true. But if we just handed out these things, wouldn't those third world countries' economies crash, utterly? They'd burn out in an instant. Everything would be too perfect; when everyone has everything they need, why bother to keep advancing? Indeed, it's actually corporate charities which keep those countries from getting ahead; the local economy suffers because corps push it out of their own market with meager charities. I agree that these corps, they're hardly scrupulous, even EE, which has done me good and has yet to do anything... Off, as far as I've seen. But they keep the world turning 'round at a fairly safe pace. This specifically anti-corporate stance is what's killing your organization, bub; there's more evils and gray areas to deal with than the corps, like the governments, both the corporate shills and the despotic ones, or crime, or any number of things. If we're going to guide humanity towards a brighter future, where no man must languish in poverty and suffering, where all are free to pursue what they wish, then we must be unbiased, careful, rational, and detached about it, despite what blind empathy and our own human ambition might drive us towards, painful as it is to ignore it. The tools of apotheosis are laid out before us; but is humanity able and prepared to use them?>
>>
>>19241319
Really? Hmmmm, well profits could be made from that marked as well. What we need is to better balance the system, not blindly attack every megacorp. That is just stupid no matter how subtle you are about it. If you really have so much power you could to make the board lose their jobs, then you should be using it on other things. Filing away corruption from third world countries and corporations for example. Make the third world a viable marked. It would be hard but not impossible.
I am not saying you should not touch the corporations though. Go ahead and take down what is needed but evaluate carefully first.

We can agree to a ceasefire. But if we see resurgence acting up like idiots again we will strike HARD.

forget whatever I was saying or agreeing to. I like this.

<I agree with your sentiments, I really do. But will dissolving the corporations that design and improve the power cores give them to third world countries?> You ask. <All we have to do is make it profitable. I'm guessing you're rather rich, so why don't you start building some infrastructure in places that need it, use your obvious connections to boards of directors to have long term plans there, and start building it up.>
<. . Perhaps. . >
<It's not a perfect solution.> You say. <I don't think there is one, but it's the safer bet. You don't have to tear them down, just make saving the world profitable. Now that the corps aren't at war anymore and the militant arm of Resurgence isn't around instead of everyone trying to build the biggest baddest gun we can apply the stuff we learned there to make it a better place. This sort of change doesn't happen overnight, and if you move too fast, you're likely to lose everything you've been working for this entire time.>
<I. . .> Three starts, and then erases. You continue.

<If we're going to guide humanity towards a brighter future, where no man must languish in poverty and suffering, where all are free to pursue what they wish, then we must be unbiased, careful, rational, and detached about it, despite what blind empathy and our own human ambition might drive us towards, painful as it is to ignore it. The tools of apotheosis are laid out before us; but is humanity able and prepared to use them?>
<. . .You're better at your words, Dave, than you are with the bullfrog.> He responds.
<We can agree to a ceasefire. But if we see Resurgence acting up like idiots again, we will strike *hard*.>

"We could, couldn't we?" Amy said.
"Could what?"
"Go to space with the power shield repulsion system." She said. "We'd need to build the hull to protect against cosmic radiation, but. . It's inspiring."

Holy shit; guys. I know what's up. This quest isn't far from over.

Get Amy on adding the cosmic radiation shielding; and other amenities. Pour almost all of our funds into atomic goop for the journey.

We're going out there to find some aliens, planets, and other shit.

We're going to turn this into NearFuture Space Quest.

And it starts: right now.

"But what is there to find out there, Amy? unless we were able to terraform, there's not much reason t. . . You have a plan for that, don't you?"
"No, not really. I don't even know how we'd deal with the gravity differences on other planets." Amy said, shrugging. "But I didn't even think about that before. The repulsion only needs power, and it can travel indefinitely even in a complete vacuum. . "
The terminal beeped again.
"You know, we could take some repair drones, Jormungandr, and the ravens up to the moon. . Build ourselves a nice little colony up there. . "
"That is the best idea I've ever heard from you, Dave." Amy said.
<So, Three, do we have an accord? We guide the world best we can, keep people from fucking it all up. Apparently we're becoming the benevolent Illuminati, never thought that would happen.>
<I understand, Dave. I'll. . stop all operations for now, and start up new plans from the ground up. You can. . keep the Antarctic base and the terminal, because I may ask for your advice once again.>
Below that note, there was a signature.

Let's do >>19241555 and make first contact with aliens. I figure a infinite power source, attached to something that can accelerate rapidly and indefinitely, in a resistance-free environment like space should get us past light speed pretty quick.
>>
>>19241712
"Good to know, but let's not dig around his business so soon after achieving a détente. That'd be just rude. But I think I have other business in New York, Amy. You know how I helped you ruffle your parents' feathers?"

"I need you to do the same with mine. I think it's about time I confronted those chucklefucks."
>>
>>19241712
Seems like we've won. Let's take a vacation somewhere. And invite Lucca and Lucas along.
>>
>>19241748
If we accelerate constantly at 1G we will have artificial gravity too...

Exabyte: This is up to you. It seems we finished the main "quest," so to speak. So you got two choices.

You can use the rest of this thread to privide a conclusion. Some sort of summary. We may not like it; but all good things must come to an end.

Or, you can take a break and come back with SemiNearFuture Space Quest. Take some time to think up of goals for us to accomplish in space. Maybe exploratory; possible long dead alien civilizations. This choice might be dragging it out a bit; and could go down in a ball of flames as a mediocre attempt to extend the life of a popular quest; but it would be one hell of a ride all the way down.

So, I know which one I want to do, but do you?
>>
>>19241712
I think we just Diplomanced the final boss character.

Cool.

Ok, plans for the longer term future, SPACE!

Plans for the near future, taking a vacation, talking to our parents again and getting funding for SPACE.

Also we should probably tell everyone that stuff is dealt with, at least for now.

Then we have a vacation. We can bring all of our buds along, Sigma, Grayson, Mark, Jun if she isn't busy, Epsilon, Lucca and Lucas.
>>
>>19241712
so Amy, you ever spend any time in new york?

I wonder if theo still runs the comic book store on oldhill street...
>>
>>19241796
I think this post summarizes quite well all the things we want to accomplish in the near future.
>>
>>19241796
Tack on some quality alone time remaking our admech army, and you got yourselves a plan.
>>
>You guys, you pretty much just ended the Quest as far as I planned. I'm very slightly panicking, but fuck it, I'm not ending the quest if you guys are still interested in Dave's Adventures. If it ends up dying in a ball of flames, that just means I can start another quest up with a completely different plot.

"Hey, Amy." You say. "Add the cosmic radiation shielding, life support, other amenities."
"Wait. . We're really doing it?" She asks, and gives you a maniac grin. "I have a lot, I mean a lot, of plans. Mostly zero-G sex."
"BUT FIRST." You say, raising a finger. "We still have business in New York, Amy. You know how I helped you ruffle your parents' feathers?"
"I need you to do the same with mine. I think it's about time I confronted those chucklefucks."
Amy got a grin.
"What's up?" Lucca asked, walking into the room.
"Oh, yeah." Amy said. "We should probably inform everyone."

I still think we shouldn't walk up to the parents with words.

we should walk around places they are likely to be and when we see them give them the middle finger with as many arms and drites as possible. for teh lolz.

or we could track down that one bulley from high school...
>>
>>19241793
Holy crap this conclusion was amazing guys. I would like to continue this quest, But who says we would continue as Dave? We could be some other random generic guy who doesn't feel like the future is the ebst for mankind. Hell I bet someone could build up a reasonable argument on why this is stupid, we're leaving the Earth rather than fixing it etc.
Hell, maybe some corruption happens and we play someone trying to weed it it out. Man, this was a helluva ride and I was glad to be here at the very beginning.
>>
>>19241847
Lucca gets to tag along. We need to get started on the polyamory plan.
>>
>>19241847
Well, Resurgence is no longer a problem. I had a talk with Three, nice guy, and their goals have now changed and their rebuilding their plans from the ground up to help the world in a stable constructive fashion rather than trying to tear the corps down. So that means I'm officially on vacation and no longer busy.
>>
>>19241847
Zero G sex is actually much more difficult than you'd think.
>>
>>19241892
There are a lot of mechanical difficulties, but we can get around those through creativity and mechadendrites acting as bracing.
>>
"Well, Resurgence is no longer a problem." You say.
"What, really?"
"With Twelve dead, I was able to DIPLOMANCE the final boss." You say.
"Final boss? You say it like it was a video game." Lucca responds. You shrug, and contact Abel.
<Hey, Abel. Resurgence won't be an issue against the corps anymore.> You tell him.
<What, really? How?>
<Diplomacy. Go ahead and tell the others.>
"Also, Dave." Amy says. "We need to figure out how Twelve was able to get a bullfrog too."
>>
>>19241910
Sure thing dear. I'll call up Jun, ask if she knows anything about it, then find the facilities with the equipment and know how to implant this sort of thing if she can't point us in the right direction. We should probably get on that quickly before we all go on a well deserved vacation, but I doubt it's quite as big a deal as dealing with Resurgence was so I will be taking it a bit easy.
>>
>>19241882
Dave is pretty smooth, but I don't think he's that smooth. I think we should leave that issue being brought up to Lucca herself.

>>19241910
"I'll review his memories some more to find out. Besides, I still need to figure out the true fate of my AdMech army, too. Can't believe he dissed the paintjob... In fact, I think I'll review the memories of his army too. Bet he didn't even thin his paints."
>>
>>19241910
Didn't Jun send the data for the Bullfrog to that rival corp that kidnapped her son? 12 probably got it from there.
>>
>>19241910
you have a point amy. but today WE SHALL MESS WITH MY PARENTS!!!

>>19241892
and zero-g sex could be made a lot more fun with drites...
>>
>>19241948
It's not about leverage, it's about blood pressure. In zero G it's hard to hold a simple erection due to the no gravity.
>>
"Sure thing. I'll call up Jun, ask if she knews anything about it, then -"

"You sure you want to do this, Twelve?" The doctor says, looking down at you. "There's no idea if it'll even work."
"I know it will work." You say confidently "Just pump the atomic goop into me. It's already keyed to construct a nervous system, and build up the infrastructure for the bullfrog. There won't be a feedback problem. If you doubt it, check Eleven for the simulations."

Your eyes open, and you step back.
"Nevermind." You say. "I know how. He had Ten steal it from KI, who stole it from CD, who had Jun give it to them. Then he underwent surgery- Eleven has the data."
Amy blinked.
"How did you know all of that, Dave?" She asked.
>>
>>19241969
Dave has manual blood pressure.
>>
>>19241984
I integrated 12.
>>
>>19241969
I always thought there was a complicated valvular arrangement in that regard. and I know that people can get down and dirty while standing on their heads...

>>19241984
I ate twelves soul and gained his power.
I should reconstruct and show you the metaphorical imagery sometime, it would BLOW YOUR MIND.
>>
>>19241984
"I absorbed Twelve's mind and now have his memories."
>>
>>19241984
"Well, you know how I was up in that Satellite battling Twelve as a giant space dragon with me riding on my own back with a giant green lance? And how twelve was a giant space kraken? Yah, well, that was actually how I interpreted absorbing his knowledge. No need to worry, I destroyed his personality."
>>
>>19241910
So I think the order of things to accomplish are:
Get info. This means how he was able to get bullfrog, where our admech army is, other infomational loose ends.

Next, get back to EE and do a debreif. Not specifics, but generals of what happened while we were away. Also explain to Grayson and Co what our plan was when we "left" EE. So we really didn't leave them. Maybe talk it up with some co-workers friends.
(I don't think Grayson knows, or if we ever informed him, that we were kidnapped unwillingly before. Maybe a fun tidbit to let him know about, or not. I don't know)

Then, we take a vaction. Maybe a company vacation with everyone. Or with friends. Or with both. We all need a break.

On the tail end of this vacation, we stop by our parents place and do shenanigans and stuff. Also space investment.

Then, space.

(All this should be kept on the dl from the government. Pretty sure they have A LOT of questions of just what in the fuck has been going on the last couple of weeks.)
>>
>>19241984
You know when I went into a mental space battle with him, one soaked in metaphors and so on, it deserved a bitching guitar solo at least.

I kind of ate his brain, he hasn't infected or changed me, I just have some of his memories bouncing around.
>>
>>19241984
"Well, when I went into the cyber-brainscape after his consciousness- it left his body and went into the network of satellites above Earth, see- I had a metal as fuck battle with him, flying over a cyberpunk cityscape. I was a knight and and a dragon, symbiotically connected- like Drakengard, but with less murder, rampant psychopathy, and flying four story cannibal babies- battling Twelve's manifestation as what appeared to be C'Thulhu. I killed him, and absorbed his memories. Most of it is in my subconscious, but I can call it up at will. Thankfully, my personality is wholly intact."
>>
"Well, we both had bullfrogs, right? I ate him."
"Ate him?"
"I think that metaphor was my mind's way of saying I integrated him. Got some of his memories, but none of the personality or odious habits."
"What was the whole metaphor?" Amy asked.
"Well, I was a giant space dragon, and I was riding my own back carrying a giant green lance. He was a big space kraken. We collided, I stabbed the shit out of him, we both fell, and then my dragon-self ate him."
"Badass." Amy says.
"It deserved a metal solo." You say.
"Is that how AI experience battles?"
"No." Azure said from your helmet. "Not at all. Dave's just insane."

>>
>>19242050
Anyway, where's our admech army?
>>
"Yup! Aint it just grand?" You say.
"So. . it's over, then." Lucca said. Then she sighed. "That was a lot easier than I thought."
"Indeed." You say.
"Hey. Amy. I need to speak to you." Lucca says, then looks at you. "In private."
Amy looks between the two of you. "Okay. . ."
Lucca drags her off.

While they're gone, you close your eyes, and think. .

You're standing in Bullfrog's storage compartment. You pull open the red container. . and it's his army. Good, just like you thought. Set up the bomb trigger on the inside clasp. . .
But what to do with the army itself?
You shrug, and open one of the Drawers in the nearby furniture, dumping it out there. You shrug, put the bomb in there too, and close the container, putting it on top of the cabinet. There. Now he'll walk in, open the container. . and boom.

You're on your knees, Three sitting at the desk in front of you.
"Can't move? Good." He said. "I knew you would try to speak with that AI." Three said, walking by you, examining. He was but a silhouette against the enormous aquarium behind him, where you could see a dolphin dive down and swim back to the surface.

"You came down here, trying to kill me." He said. "I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to do the same thing to you. One, please kill-"
You grunt something, unable to move your jaw.
"Oh, you want to say something? Very well. One, allow Dave to speak."

You open your mouth. The words that come out suprise even you. "EE-EEEEE-EEEEEE-EEEE-ACK-ACK-EEE-EEE-CLICK-ACK-EE-EEEE!"

The aquarium glass cracks. You see the dolphins on the other side, pushing against the glass.
"What?!" Three cries.
The glass cracks some more, and finally, water bursts free.

We need the dimplomancy anons to work on this.

Amy I know you're jealous, but I want to assure you that no matter what happens I'll love you completely. But is it really fair for you to keep all of this mechadendrite loving to yourself? I'm not saying you have to go full heartedly at this from the beginning, I just ask that you give it a shot, get to know Lucca and maybe even one day share me with her.
>>
>>19243093
Saying that is a good way to get slapped/plasma'd
>>
>>19242979
Well, I feel bad that Lucca was strung along because we made a bad little jokey tease, and worse that it ended with a violent shitstorm. But Amy takes precedence for our affections.

>>19243006
Does our million-dollar grin count as a fatepoint?

Wait. Since we'd be burning it, that probably means it'd be burned by way of Amy knocking our block off before she calmed down and talked about the situation like an adult. Hrm. We might need to get into contact with a good futuredentist. That, or have Azure log our facial structure pre-mashing so we can reconstruct it later with atomic goo.

So wait, Exabyte. You've been around for a while answering questions. Why not just continue now? Then again, you have to do the pre-thread writing, concepting, and planning for every conceivable avenue. And the ones that aren't conceivable, too, because /tg/ quests always get blown off the rails...
>>

>>19243093
no, that's too blatant.

I know that as we are dave we cannot into subtlety very well we should try harder.

speak to Amy alone first then bring in Lucca to work things out etc... try the mediators approach once the violence and the screaming are over.
>>
>>19243093
That was terrible. Both in composition, typing, and in how much it will calm her down. In fact, that would just make her angrier.
>>
Don't play devils advocate when she's being violent about it. That's the number 2 thing to remember when dealing with women. number 1 being she's always right unless there is enough evidence to convince a jury otherwise.
>>
>>19243145
I concur.

That wasn't a good bit of diplomacy.
>>
>>19243191
>Don't play devils advocate when she's being violent about it. That's the number 2 thing to remember when dealing with women
What do you mean?
>>
>>19243199
Meaning if a girl is violently opposed to an idea, don't be open about the idea being good. It will just get you slapped.
>>
>>19243218
I see, thanks.
Makes sense, it will only make shit worse and I prefer Amy over anyone else. Threesomes are awesome and all but should be done with complete consent and understanding.
>>
>>19243130
>Writing is a lot more focus-intensive and quite a bit more stressful. It's tiring for me, so it's much easier when I have a time I can just chill and answer questions. Plus, do you not know of the power of DRAMATIC CLIFFHANGERS?
>>
>>19243315
Since you've been doing this for every God damn day for the past month, I can't really fault you. In fact, you're like a superhuman in that regard.
Great job, man.
>>
>>19243351
>I'm not exactly superhuman, I just have a splendid lack of any sort of thing people call 'a life'. And actually, I missed two days. Otherwise I might have been able to beat AC-Guy's 'at least one thread per day' record.

>But yeah, as I lounge around and read the post-thread discussion, I'm constantly brewing all sorts of plans and plots and ideas for SPACE CYBORG QUEST. Also for FANTASY SORCERESS QUEST which I'm toying with calling ISHELDA QUEST because I'm stupid.
>>
>>19243351
That's the strangest part about this quest. EVO Quest started at a pace like this at first, then it was a few days between threads because the guy had to plan his shit out as the quest got more complex. And then it burned out, sadly.

Exabyte, however, has kept this shit up mostly uninterrupted for a whole month. I've never seen a quester quite this dedicated to keeping shit going and keeping it at a premium of quality at the same time.
>>
>>19243418
What about Fantasy Ishelda Quest, Ishelda's dreams about becoming the Awakened Warlock/Sorcerercat of /tg/ myth and abusing her powers horribly? With the occasional segue back into reality with Dave & friends?
>>
>>19243431
VKO was god damn dedicated on running his quest even when pretty much no one participated. It wasn't even a bad quest. I don't know why no one wanted to play it.
I guess he finally given up after a while.

He didn't run them every day of course but he was consistent. Oh, and at one point he ran different quests, sometimes running all 3 simultaneously
>>
>>19243459
>Actually, SORCERESS QUEST is going to be a bit better planned; namely, I'll be making the entire fucking setting, and just. . let you loose on it. I'm done planning anything ever. I might throw in a few plot hooks, but those are only to keep the momentum up.

>Also, even when I'm taking a break, I'll probably be on twitter, so if anyone has any questions after this quest goes on break or even ends, go ahead and ask. A lot of my characters actually have deeper motivations and deeper backstories than you'd think.
>>
Why did Resurgence attack Atlantis anyway?
>>
>>19243891
>The gunship detected it, and Twelve figured that he didn't want anyone using it to find his gunship before he was ready to leave. But when you stopped his people from destroying it, he figured 'whoops, guess he's on his way. Better GTFO'
>>
>>19243919
So he didn't know we already had detected him before hand?

What do they do in Project Atlantis? Anything interesting or just boring "research"
>>
>>19243919
Wait, we still have one of them, right?
>>
>>19243954
>Just boring 'research'. They're mostly cataloging and recording seismic and oceanic disturbances, marking down currents and how they relate to weather changes, etc.
>>
>>19243954
They were researching how to communicate with sea creatures
>>
I just realized that we saved the CORPORATIONS.
In any other story that would be something bad.

Next thread we should go back to EE and tell them this personally and then convince them going into SPACE research. We will be the first Corporation to break the space frontier and exploit it!

hey man, there was this really short quest a while ago...

it stopped happening and I miss it cause it was awesome, could you at some point in the future run something like this? I liked killing nazis...

>Perhaps, but I'll have to finish up Cyborg Quest first, and then Sorceress Quest, and then perhaps after that we can do Eldritch Outsider Quest.

man thats awesome...

I just really hate when a quest with potential dies mid-gasp.

like doppleganger damacy

Man, that quest had so many reboots and none sticked

it gladdens me that this quest might actually make it to some kind of completion...
>>
>>19244271
>And after this quest is completed, I'll start a new one. Using all of the things I learned, of course.
>So far, here's the introduction to Sorceress Quest: You're the daughter of some king somewhere on a world that demons are sieging, Burning Legion style. The entire world's fallen, they're winning, all that stuff, when the most powerful wizard in the kingdom finds a way for someone to escape to another world; but only one person. That's you, and while between the worlds, you gain hilarious amounts of magical power.
>>
>>19244416
> Burning Legion style
Never heard of it.

>when the most powerful wizard in the kingdom finds a way for someone to escape to another world; but only one person.
And what world will it be? A generic magic fantasy world, sci-fi or modern world or maybe NEARFUTURE SETTING!?

>Dave relaxing and playing piano. Suddenly warnings everywhere. A bright flash. *POMF*. Dave feels some weight on his legs, look down and see a cute magical loli sitting on his lap.
>Hilarius hijinks ensue
>>
>>19244459
>You'll end up in a generic fantasy setting, with lizardmen, high elves, humans, etc.
> During my break after NFC, I'll be designing the setting and it's history and such, but for the most part I'll make up the setting as it goes along.
