Recap in the image.
Gives me a chance to post this at least

>Earlier
Sarah grinned as she looked in the mirror. She wore the most girlish clothes she owned, a dark chemise and bell skirt, with a pair of heeled shoes. She even had some makeup and earings on.
"I bet he'd pay more attention to me if he saw me in this." she commented aloud.

Singing had been a hobby for her since she could remember, and it always helped her relax. With tomorows battle coming up, she needed to take her mind away from certain...distractions. She exitted the dressing room and got up on stage. The restaurant paid her to sing part time, conveniently doubling her outlet as a way to make some extra cash.

She started up her fourth song for the night, a sad ballad of a man who lost his love to another. It's about then that she noticed out of the corner of her eye. She was uncertain at first, but as he turned again, she got a good look at his face, scare and all. And the girl he was dancing with. Who was she?
>>
ZOIDS!
>>
>>19243529
She had already slowed her singing, as she kept her eyes on the two. Then they stopped abrubtly, and leaned into each other. Sarah's eyes went wide as she saw the two kiss. Her voice froze, her arm slumping to her side. The microphone slipped from her hand, and tumbled onto the floor. He looked up then, and realized it was her. He looked suprised to see her, but that was it. Not shocked, or bewildered, just suprised.

Sarah got off the stage, trying not to make a scene. Trying to hold it in. She started running once she got to the back. She ran down the hall, then outside. He never thought anything of you, a voice in her head told her. It was all one sided. Keep running, that's all your good for right now, a stupid little girl that thought she was an adult. Sarah screamed at herself, telling the whispers inside to be silent, but they still taunted her.

She reached her home and hurried to her room, locking the door behind her. She fell onto her bed, and did the only thing she knew to do. She cried herself to sleep.

You offer Rick a cigar. "You smoke?"

"Sometimes." he says, accepting the gift. He sits down with you and shares a drink.
"So what's on your mind?"

>What say?
>>
>>19243626
Well, I just had a great evening except for the part where a friend who may have been developing feelings for me saw me giving Eri a full mouth kiss. Yeah.
>>
>>19243626
Was having a perfectly nice evening, then I broke a girls heart and wasn't even able to do it in one of the less painful fashions.

Explain that Sarah had probably been developing feelings for us, was singing at the Club and we didn't know it was her. She saw us with Eri, we saw her drop the microphone and run off. Nasty situation.
>>
>>19243638
good, now try to push rick and sarah together.
>>
>>19243668

Rick takes a thoughtful puff of the cigar and thinks for a moment.

"Honestly, dude? You're pretty screwed."

"Figured that out all on your own, did you?" you say sarcastically.

"Kind of figured she had a thing for you." he says, taking another drink. He rubs his chin. "Can't really say I have personal experience, but I've seen this sort of thing happen. I take it you didn't fool around with her?"

"Of course not!" you say a bit defensively. "I mean, yeah, I kind of liked her, but I didn't really feel that way. And I couldn't find a time to tell her straight without it being awkward."

"I believe you man, you're a good guy. Really, you should probably wait things out a bit, to let her cool off."

"About that, she's in a battle tomorrow." you explain. He flinches.

"Eh..maybe it'll give her a chance to blow off some steam?" he offers.

You sigh. "So screwed."

>>19243753
We need to be watching her battle tomorrow. And maybe send her a letter.
>>
>>19243753
Joy, we have a heart broken, and presumably angry girl going into a giant robot fight tomorrow. Rick, if I call and try to say anything to cheer her up or help her, it'll probably just make her more mad and depressed.

Could you give her a call or something like that, make sure she's doing alright.
>>
>>19243792
"Yeah, I'll give it a try." Rick say, putting the cigar out in the sand. "Just hope she listens, she's a bit hot headed."

"You have no idea."

You go back inside, and bid Rick goodnight.

Sleep comes and goes. You're a bit worried about the future, both yours and others. All you can do is take it as it comes, though.

You awake at your usual time, feeling slightly hung over, but that should pass soon. You get in a shower and a shave, and eat some breakfast. Seems everyone is content to sleep in today.

Since you just accepted a challenge, no one can challenge Sidewinder until tomorrow, at the earliest. This gives you some leeway as to what you can do.

Deciding it's time you got around to it. you opt to work on the Red Horn. Even in this era, it's an impressive zoid to look upon. With its armor and sensor unit already repaired, you simply need to replace the missing subweapons.

....which you do not have on hand. You did put the order in, though.

You make your way to the cannopy and use the call forwarding.

["Y'ellow?"] sounds a familiar voice.

"Hey, Rob"

["G-man, bro! How's it goin'?"]

"Just swell, we're 2-0, as of yesterday. Ricks doing fine too, by the way."

["...Thanks, bro. I'm a little older, so I try to look out for 'im, even though I'm so clumsy. I can't really do anything for him most of the time, though."]

"That's ok, you do what you can. Anyway, I was calling about those components I ordered, they on the way?"

We're not really in a huge hurry, no need to rush it.

Now if we fucked Sarah then this happened...then I'd be suggesting a change of name/country/face. Not in that order.

I am so glad we are not in that situation.

As an aside, I also think we should inform Eri about what happened. If she picked up on only part of the story it'll seem really bad. So best to pull the bandaid off and tell her the full story.

>>19244187
(Implying continents could keep you safe)

"No rush, man, I got a whole day to myself."

["Ok, bro, I'll be there soon as I can regardless."]

You thank him, and end the call. Then you sigh. Your not entirely sure if you want to do this, but you dial the number. You wait, and you wait.....
No one's answering.

Thanks to the satellite phone, you no longer have to go into town to find work.

You bring up what jobs are currently posted.

Stone clearing: 600 credits.
Well this is interesting. Seems some people are trying to start building a new town, and just 20 miles east of you, and that. They need some rocks broken up and hauled away. Might could find some extra work to do for them while you're at it.

Militia training: 1,000 credits.
Spare with new town militia enlistees. The Garrison can't be present in every town, so many start up militia forces to guard from bandits. This is for a town south of here, near the edge of the Zine Desert, nearly a hundred miles.

Construction escort: 800 credits
Someone wants an escort for transporting construction model Guysacks headed for the Svodi Mountains.

>What do?

Stone clearing, like a boss. A new town means more trade coming through this area, which potentially means more business for Eri's family.

Ride out on the Horn to the match.
You want to see it yourself, cheer her in outside the boundary of the arena, congratulate her afterward, avoid the hail of missile fire as it's be good practice.

TALK to her.
We're a stupid young idiot that led her on a little, because we're a dumb merc with a fat head. We were going to stop it before we went to far because it wasnt Fair to her, to either of them.
>>
>>19244388
Stone Clearing. The Militia training is a bit of a walk and I have no clue how far the Construction escort is, though we might grab it for amusement purposes later.

No need to do it right away.

When is the match, how far away is it and is going in person as a team to cheer possible?
>>
>>19244410
Let'snot ruin her concentration by showing up at a match right after we broke her heart. Instead we should go for stone clearing or militia.
>>
>>19244410
An interesting idea, but pretty much all sanctioned battles have the area around the battlefield swept clear of outsiders before the match begins. And there's probably something about not communicating with outside forces other than other team members in the rules as well. Don't want to get her team qualified to boot.
>>
>>19244438
Unless you get permission by one of the teams to watch.
Or we just sit outside the arena's grounds and watch.
Just being there, and just because we're rooting for her, doesnt mean she needs to hear it.

And since it's construction work....

"Audrey!" you call into the hallway. After a few seconds, the girl pokes her head out.

"Yes?"

"Want to go with me and help build a new town?"

Her grin is so wide her head almost seems to swell. "Yes!"

"Okay, help me patch some food together, and we can head out."

It has linear cannons, horns and we ought to get use to it. The Molga would work if we used detcord but it wouldn't be as good for moving things, clearing stones, its main advantage would be making trenches. If we want we can stuff it on the Gustav just in case it'll be useful.

Leave a note saying we're off to clear stones and help build a town, be back before noon.

What's better than 2 Zoids? 4!
You load up the Demantis, Red Horn, and Molga on the Gustav. You let everyone know where you're headed over the base com, and set out.

You soon arrive to your destination, barely more than a half hour away. The construction sight is busy with activity, some guysacks configured for construction clearing away sand and dirt, as conventional construction vehicles lay the groundworks for the yet to be born town.

There's also a shield liger standing guard at the edge of the workers. It's a rather impresive sight, since it seems to be a newer DCS-J model. You park yourselves out of the way of the other workers.

>What do?
>>
>>19244771

ZOIDS QUEST, HELL YEAH. Introduce ourselves to the foreman and find out what we must do to get that shield liger. IT CAN BECOME A BLADE LIGER MUST HAZ ZM MUST HAZ
>>
>>19244771
Get in the Red Horn and have Audrey get in her Demantis, she can use her claws to break up big rocks for others to cart way.

Radio the Shield Liger, ask if he's the foreman/coordinator of this project and ask where we're most needed.

If he's not the foreman then ask to get into contact with him and ask the same question.

Introduce ourselves, see where we're needed, shoot the shit with Mayor McLiger and discuss girl troubles with Audrey. We're more just talking to ourselves, venting over our frequency with audrey being the only on in range able to hear it, but, it helps get that weight off our shoulder some.
>>
>>19244799
Ligers are overrated. We dont need to waste our time trying to nab one of those things when the crimson horn is still waiting completion.
>>
>>19244854
I agree, we don't need a standard protagonistmobile. Though I would be interested in a Shadow Fox merely for all the sneaky bullshit we could pull off with it. The Crimson Horn is a good option but not the only one available, I do happen to like it very much, it's absolutely covered in guns. We can build up to it over time, and leave the grapple arms off or at least wait until the end for them, our CRC is bad enough to make using them a sad option most of the time.

If only the Zeekdober was better armed and armored, it'd be a pretty solid choice as well.
>>
>>19244910

It's impossible to acquire a shadow fox in the current time period according to ZM. As discussed in earlier threads, our eventual plan was to acquire a blade liger strap as much weapon and stealth generators as possible and go crazy ninja assassin moodo
>>
>>19244939
I know, which is kinda sad. But you can turn anything into a stealth machine with a good mechanic, a pile of stealth generators and some duct tape to attach the generators to the Zoid.

You get in the Redhorn, whilst Audrey mounts her Demantis. You're about to open a comlink when someone starts talking to you via short range radio.

["Aye, you kids the extra help we asked for?"]

You look around and spot a stout man holding a reciever.
"We are, are you the forman in charge?"

["I am indeed. The rocks we want busted are too your left, careful not to step on anything. They're pretty big, but you should be able to smash right through them."]

You make your way down along the work zone, spotting your quarry(rimshot). You check to make sure no one's around to get hit by debris, and charge.

Dino damage! You smash right through. The workers would have needed quite a bit of explosives to break them up eventually, but this not only saves time, but money as well.

Audrey busies herself digging out and dragging away rocks lodged into the ground, as you continue to wreck your way through he rock formation.

You quickly find yourself without anything to smash.

>What do?

["Done already? That was quick. I guess you can go.....did you say you had a Molga?"]

"Yes?" you answer. He's quiet for a bit. You find him visualy, he seems to be thinking seriously. He raises the receiver again.

["Alright, kid, here's the deal. About under a mile and a half north is an underwater spring. Ground's to unstable to build there. We WERE gonna make a pipeline underground and draw water from it like that, but if you could dig a channel for it to flow down this way, and pool just outside where we're building...shit, you'd save us months of time. >>
>>19245095
We could totally manage that. It'll be a bit tricky, but we should be able to "shave" the earth by going over the same shallow path multiple times with the cutters until it's the required depth. That should minimize he chances of steep dirt walls collapsing into the channel and ruining our work.
>>
Better have him map out the route he wants this aquaduct to take. Actually, unless he wants us to we better not breach the spring ourself. They'll want to lay concrete to keep the water flowing properly.

["Go with this guy, he's gonna dig a canal underground for us. Up north is skirting bad country, I want you watching his back while he digs."]

["What about here?"]

["We're tripping zoids, here. The only useful thing you're doing is giving us some shade. Now hop to it!"]

They don't need to be. This is our story and we can choose whatever zoids we want (within the timeline). We don't have to follow cannon is my point. Imagination is whats needed here.
>>
>>19245742

Even weirder/funnier when you realize that the OP pic is a fucking Liger Zero.

>Never get the cool Zoids.

Know that feel bro, know that feel.

Though now I kinda want to see Gerald get drunk and draw up 'blueprints' for an Energy Liger.

'It's a Liger AND a unicorn, with laser claws and a beam cannon that's all *pew pew* and then I kill ALL the bandits!'

The picture shows a E-Liger, in crayon, on top of a small mountain of Hell-cats and Molgas, with helpful labels on the 'technical bits (ask Eri for hepl)' including 'bitchin horn' 'Lazer claws' and 'dead bandits'.
>>
>>19245776
It is a protagonist Zoid, but we have spent most of this quest in the most mookish Zoid possible, and winning.

We go up against wolves, bears, mammoths and dinosaurs in a fucking caterpillar, and that's pretty damn cool.

We can forge our own path about what is the best protagonist Zoid.
>>
>>19245776
Liger's are for close combat aces (which tend to be protagonists) which we are the exact opposite of given are below average close range abilities.

You dig away from the water source, gradually aiming downward as you go to make use of gravity, and to avoid the more unstable ground. The tunnel walls will act as a natural canal, the stone below you will prevent any water from being lost.

"So your parents are originally from this region?" you ask your companion to break up the monotony.

["That's right. They had to leave their home town behind when the asteroids fell."]

"Where was the town located?"

["About right here."] he states. You continue digging through the all but empty wasteland.

"Sorry."

["It's fine."]

You reach the area designated by Tom's brother. You unfortunately could not leave a remote detonation device behind, but the tunnel itself is set.

>What do?
>>
Wait, they want the canal to be underground? Crap. What's the ground like? If it's too soft anything we dig will just collapse thanks to erosion.
>>
rolled 3 = 3

>>19245837
read the post closely, thats been taken care of.you know your tunnels.

In a few years, after the towns been established, they can make something better, but they'll manage with what you just dug
>>
>>19245829
Head back to the start of the canal where the water is waiting to come through. Maybe use the laser cutter to create a small hole in the ground above the wall holding back the water (on the dry side), lower in some det cord (enough to breach the wall, not make a huge hole) and let the rush of water bring down the rest of the wall whilst leaving the ground above it in tact.

Should work right?
>>
>>19245829
leave the rest to the pros, no point risking our neck just to be a hero to some builders.
>>
>>19245785

I don't give two flying fucks about canon or originality or whatever, my favorite Zoid happens to be the Liger Zero.

It has nothing to do with it being a protagonist Zoid or anything, I just like the design, and unlike some zoids, there's no part of it where I look at it and think 'does it really need THAT when it has THIS' or 'Why does a dedicated artillery unit have all this melee weapons?'

I will admit straight up that it isn't the best fit for THIS guy, and would actually prefer a Shadow Fox even if the LZ was an option.
>>
>>19245829
Well the tunnel is set, I'm going to look it over to make sure it's stable and erosion won't screw everything up too quickly. Then I'll make a small indent in the bedrock to give a place to put the explosives and guide the explosion, set up some detcord and get out of there, it ought to work. Unless they have a Demo expert lying around in which case I'll defer to them.

There was an awful lot lost during the asteroids, maybe more than was lost during the wars. The important thing is that we're rebuilding, this is a good step towards that.
>>
well the tunnel is done lets head back and get a remote charge to blow the last couple of feet so i don't drown down here when we breach the aqifer.
You guys do have explosives right? or at least a remote detinator we could conect to some det cord?
>>
>>19245829

Can we safely get the water flowing? Do they even WANT us to do that? Or should we just leave that little bit to them for when they want/need it. Getting water enough for a town in the middle of construction could be an issue.

>'It's a Liger AND a unicorn, with laser claws and a beam cannon that's all *pew pew* and then I kill ALL the bandits!'

I don't even LIKE Ligers, and I want this to happen now. What would be even funnier is actually building an Energy Liger after that.

Howsabout a Gravity Liger?

Take the equipment from a Gravity Saix and put it on a liger or something.

Mr. DeFlynn, you have brought a rather absurd proposal to our company.

You want to stick a horn on a Liger that, and I quote "Spins with energy and shit" and you plan to accomplish these "technical bitz" by telling this Eri to solve them, you suggested "tachyons" as a good idea.

Mr. DeFlynn, I'm afraid we're going to have to reject your proposal, please never contact our company again.

It's a mile and a half away. Even if you blow it up now, its gonna be a while before any substantial amount actually reaches this spot you stopped at.

Plus even when the town isn't finished, having a steady water supply in the middle of the desert will be a huge boon.

You and Tom double back, you in the tunnel, him above ground.

["What sort of work do you usually do?"] Tom says around halfway back.

"Was part of a mercenary company, but lately I've joined the battle circuit."

["Oh yeah? Me too!"] he says enthusiastically. ["Are you on a team? What's it called?"]

"Sidewinder."

["Hm, haven't heard of it, to be honest."]

"We're still pretty new. What about you?"

["Oh, my team's called..."]
He falls silent. Nearly a minute passes.

"Tom?"

["Sh!"] he replies on a direct channel. ["Gerald, I got footprints up here."]

"What does it look like?"

["Helcats."]

>What do?
>>
>>19245981

Six months later, Gerald goes to fight a bandit who's been terrorizing a nearby town.

Then he sees what he's up against: HIS ZOID. The motherfucker built HIS Badass Uni-Liger, and was using it for banditry. After getting out of his Zoid and kicking it into space, he realizes that he both just destroyed his only chance at getting one, and that nobody would believe him.

His cry of utter agony and Rage was heard for a hundred miles in every direction.
>>
>>19246009
If we can avoid ruining our tunnel, tunnel up close to the surface so we can use our sandshooter in a pinch, wait to see what he finds. Also monitor for seismic activity (we do that right?) to see if we can track the hellcats
>>
>>19246009

Turn off the coms for a moment, and then cackle madly at the thought of killing more bandits. Then resume conversation and lay out a plan to investigate.
>>
>>19246009
Does our cloaking tech, put out anything that can be tracked? Since we snagged it from a Helcat, maybe he can track ours and pick up any Helcat.

Course this is giving away our advantage if we ever fight the.guy.

Bwahaha. Oh jeez. A molga versus a liger? Eh. Unless we're super lucky..
>>
>>19246009
I adore fighting Helcats, I'm trying to collect enough stealth units from them to create a life size sculpture of one.

I'm on my way, my seismic sensors ought to make life easier.

Ok, go off to the side in the Molga following Tom, stay underground. We'll fix the hole in the tunnel after this. Stay near the Shield Liger and tell Tom to follow the footprints, ready for combat and don't act like I'm here.

Pump our seismics to full power and find those fucking Helcats.
>>
>>19246009
Ask where they lead. Also start watching the seismic sensors.

It's possible that the bandits don't know about us, since we've been underground this entire time. And if they do know they probably aren't aware we have a cloak. And if they are then they were probably sent here specifically cause of us and we might be screwed.
>>
>>19246084

"Gerald, what's this?"

"Figured I'd try my hand at art."

"It's a forty foot statue of you, beating a hellcat to death using a Molga as a club, built entirely out of broken stealth generators."

"Yes. Yes it is."

"Was this REALLY, in your eyes, a productive use of your time?"

"Yes. Yes it was."

Radio back to base, put everyone on high alert and ask someone to keep an eye on the Red Horn.
>>
>>19246009

>Not yet.

According to an earlier post you made, it's years from even being considered as a vague idea.

By the time something like that is a reality, based on the rate this quest is moving, Quest is either going to be over, massive time-skips will make it unplayable, or we'll have enough money to build a Death Saurer out of solid gold.

Unless you've been fucking with us the whole time as far as the timeline and what's going on, it's unrealistic enough that I seriously doubt it will ever happen.

I could, and I think AC Quest actually might, but that's sorta useless speculation at this point.

>>
What's to the northwest?
>>
>>19246186
Arguing over Zoids we have yet to get the bills for is rather counter productive.

A quest involves a community of players and it's best to embrace the overall direction and try to make minor course adjustments to make the over all plan work.

That said Zoid Mother is on record as saying he's messed with the cannon time line and has a few surprises in store. We already have schematics for a custom Red horn called the Crimson Horn which if we built would prove a surprise to anyone.

Passion is good but let's stop before this gets out of hand right? Right.

So wait, Energy Liger is resoundingly shot down at every term, despite being invented less than TWO YEARS after something that's about to hit mass production?

What?

Don't get me wrong, think maybe there's better choices for a Zoid (for our protagonist anyway, no point in giving him a monster he can't control). But still.

>>19246239

Honestly, I'm not even really upset so much as 'vaguely annoyed'. My only exposure to Zoids prior to this was that one anime.

It's just a kinda lack of consistency with what was said earlier that bugs me. Plans are made based on given information, and then information is wrong. That can only happen to man so many times before they get a little bitter about it.

And I'm not really bitching, just explaining why I'm... frustrated I guess. The rest of the Quest has been pretty good so far, so I guess this one irritating bit sticks out more that it should because of that.

Whatever, said my peace, I'll shut up now.

["You sure? They lead away from the town, I don't think they'll be a problem for us."]

"Not today, maybe. But if they got a hideout out there, one day it'll come back to bite you in the ass. Especially if they build themselves up over time. Best to take care of things now."

He's silent for a moment. ["Wow, so this is what my brother means when he tells me to think ahead."]

You dig out from the tunnel, and follow him on the surface, before engaging your Stealth shield.
["What the?!"]

"Another example of 'thinking ahead'." you explain. He laughs in response.

You move further Northwest, Tom making sure not to pull away from you. You reach a valley flanked by plateaus on either side, a great deal of greenery being visible.

Darn shame, we checked the surrounding area, under it, did full seismic sweeps. They're either long gone and kept on running or they pulled a fast one and doubled back.

Follow Tom at a distance and have him present a juicy target for ambushing so if they try anything we'll blow their asses to hell.

["Do you want to finish up with the tunnel, or head back now?"]

You go down into the tunnel, patching up the side you dug out earlier. You make your way to the spring, and climb up the hole you made while releasing the cord. One calculated detonation later, the hole behind you is sealed, and the spring wall is ruptured. You do some measuring, and find the results satisfactory.

You both head for the site , you going full speed.

When you arrive, everyone's idaling about.
["Welcome back."] greets the foreman. ["Time for a break, come down and eat something."]

>What do?
>>
>>19246713

Three way tie: I like the Molga, because it's hilariously underrated in the hands of a decent pilot.

I like the Berserk Fury, because it's insanely overpowered for it's weight class, and is an absolute MONSTER when it has a good pilot.

If I absolutely HAD to pick a favorite, it would probably be an Energy Liger. The Liger Zero based zoids are high performance, and pack a lot of punch and power for their frame. Of the variants on the LZ core, the Energy Liger simply does it the best in my opinion. It's basically just the best of a very good line, and it's hard to argue with that.

Morning bump to keep it alive till ZM gets back. Since I missed most of the zoid discussion about what we should be getting, let me just say that I hope we can get either a Cannonfort or a Dibison.

Also, I noticed that the Elephander's main gun was a 50 mm linear cannon, right? And the Red Horn has not just one, but THREE linear cannons that are ten millimeters bigger. So... does that mean that our Red horn has the power of three Elephanders?

Oh. And I've only watched NC0 once, a few years ago. I always preferred Genesis and Chaotic Century >.> Well, looking at the wiki, you do appear to be right, it has a shield.

morning all. give me a bit to knock the stupid out of me

"So, Audrey, you and Tom seem to be getting along."

"Yeah, he's funny!" the dark skinned girl says. "Like Mister Rob, but without talking funny."

Heh. "So did he say anything to you?"

"Hm? Nothing in particular. We just talked about the town and the weather. I wonder what they'll name it?"

"Haven't thought of that." you muse.

You look at the time. You might miss some of the battle at this rate, with the speed the Gustav is going. That might be a little too much to miss.

one last bump for good measure

Lets get this going guys
>>
>>19250083
Whoops, playing Arkham Horror with friends, missed your post. Let's see.... Head back to base I suppose. We DID leave a note telling people where we were going, right?
>>
>>19249992
We have to get to see the battle anyway to speed the Gustav up?
>>
>>19250163
It's going as fast as it can. You're only option for getting back quicker is to mount one of your faster zoids and go ahead.

You could also just go along as is
>>
>>19250180
We can afford not to see the VERY beginning.

You sigh and continue on in the Gustav. No sense breaking your neck while scrambling over to the tow. Audrey would likely panic too.

You arrive on base, and ask Audrey to stow the Gustav as you hop out and make for the tv. When you turn it on, the battle's already underway. You see 2 Barigaters and Sarah's Stealth Viper exchanging fire with a team of Red Horns.

"Whatcha watchin?" Eri says as she enters the room.

"Zoid battle." you say as casually as possible. "Not sure who the other team is, but I think that's the Gators team there."

"You wanted to see Vlad in action? Sorry to say, it doesn't look like he's participating, I don't see his Sarcosu Gator anywhere."

You freeze. "He's sitting this one out?"

"I guess. Maybe he didn't think it was worth his time, or he had a job lined up. Pretty irresponsible if you ask me."

Damn, this could go even worse than you thought.
>>
>>19250425

You watch intently as Sarah's team outmaneuvers the Red Horns. The Barrigators lead two of them into a muddy area. The larger zoids try to power through, but find their feet getting stuck. Sarah's teamates, on the other hand, actually burrow into the mud, then attack from below with their massive maws. They trigger thruster units on their side, and the crocodile zoids begin to spin, one Red Horn is actually thrown onto its backside.

<Red Crasher's 1 and 3, out of the battle!>

>Meanwhile
Sarah moved away from the Red Horn firing on her. The Red Crasher team wasn't known for their tactics, they've won all their battles through brute force. Her opponent charged after her, laughing and firing.

["What's the matter, little snake? Running away? Why don't you fight me like a man? Oh, that's right, you're not!"]

Sarah bit her lip in aggravation. "You know, that might have worked a while ago." she says as she triggers her smoke. "Now I know better."

["Hah! You think you can hide from me? I got three kinds of sensors and radar, I'll find you just like...that?"]

"That's what dampeners are for, you halfwit."

Her Electromagnetic beam gun fired at close range, striking the Red Horns neck. It falls over and remains still.

<The battle is over, the battle is over. The winner is...the Gators team!>

"Not bad." Eri comments. "Beating a Red Horn with a Viper. They even put an Electro mag. on it, good idea."

You let out a sigh of relief. She didn't do anything reckless, or get hurt.

>What do?
>>
So does anyone know where I can watch some Zoids online? I can't seen to find it anywhere. No streams and no torrents...
>>
>>19250601
Get a refreshing drink with Eri. Ask her if she'd mind helping us install the Red Horn's new weapons when they get here.
>>
Still alive there ZM?
>>
>>19250630
You get some lemonade from the fridge and share some with Eri. "My parts should be here in a little while, want to help me install them?"

"Oh? What happened to taking a break today?" she jeers.

"This doesn't count. It's recreational activity, with the added bonus of having my company."

She shoves you playfully. "Alright, wise guy, but we do something I want later."

After lounging around a little more, Rob arrives with the components you ordered. You help him unload his Merder's hold, and sign the release form.

"Okay, bro, just slide your card here, and you're all done."

>28,000 credits redacted
You thank him for the service.
"No problem, bro. Hey, is Rick around? Wanted to talk with him for a bit."

"Haven't seen him all day, now that I think of it." you comment.

"His Sinker hasn't been here since I got up." Eri says. "Maybe he went out this morning."

"Ah, that's too bad." Rob says. "I can't really stick around right now. Tell him I said high, ok?"

"Will do, man. Take care." you wave goodbye as he gets back in his zoid and heads out.

You take the components over to the Red Horn and start using the pulleys to set them onto the frame. It's much easier now that the work frames have been repaired.

>Talk
>Work
>Others
>>
>>19250914
We will talk... with our bodies. Our work repairing the Redhorn will communicate all that needs to be said.

Or something similarly dumbly romantic.

You both set to work, securing the components one at a time, occasionally brushing against each other. Sometimes you hug her from behind, her giggling when you do so.

"No, Gerald, that's dangerous." she berates you once, lightly bopping your head with her wrench,

"Sorry."

"Come on, do it seriously."

After about an hour, you finish. The Red Horn fully restored to its former glory.

>What do?
>>
>>19251237
>What do?

Make sure that the sensor can detect enemies that do whatever it was that Sarah did earlier. We do NOT want to fall for the same trick. Not that I imagine us fighting her per say, but there are other stealthy enemies who could pull the same idea.
>>
>>19251273
Eri turns her lip up. "You'd need to enhance the whole sensor unit, and even then I don't know if you could get through a Viper's bafflers. Might be better to try improving the IR." She shrugs. "Or you could just not charge into smoke like a retard."

"There's an idea." you chuckle. "Maybe I'll use it one day.

You don't have the necesary components to improve the Horn's search capabilities, so for now you put it on your to do list.

(Gonna have to end the thread here guys. If things go well, I'll be back again Friday)
>>

>Not charge into the smoke like a retard

Well, we ARE more shooty oriented, so that's probably how we'd play it. Saturate the area with fire and hope to get a hit. Oh, and have a good week ZM!

Oh, now THAT is nice. We gotta get something like that for Roy sometime. Or Rick. Damnit I get them mixed up. The guy who's on our team now.
