Greeting elegan/tg/entleman. Last time, things went smoothly with the encounter at the small church, the regent was a receptive young woman overall, but it would seem she lacked the time to warn of some impending trouble for a rude arrival of 3 mantis agents interrupted you and put you under house arrest, even with your supposed diplomatic immunity given by your mission, it would seem the head of the clan herself gave such an order. But then, a stroke of luck brought by vigilance managed to scratch a part of the scheme for a young woman, a female human in appearance at the very least, came in our quarters to ask us of our companions whereabouts, in this case the angel and the centipede for the both of them would, in theory, manage to get you out of there. But you picked up on her trick, the girl tried to charm you in the most subtle way you’ve ever seen a mage try.But another event is afoot, for your Mantis companion shadowed the suspect by favor for the regent and stumbled upon a structure not far from the castle and after sneaking in, stumbled upon a large…something hide beneath a large veil, it was found to be a large…thing? Hypothesis lead to a war machine, some kind of magitek far too close for comfort to the castle in the hands of peoples with strange intention. And now your cover is blown how to make it back alive?
The area is dark but visibility is not a problem, you’ve often hear how people in the dark glaring at a light would be hurt but that never affected you and the light of the torch is more than enough to give you a good night vision, the sunlight of the crouching sun is not present due to the outside woman entering and closing –then barring – the door with a large piece of wood. Your scythes are extended from they’re previous resting spot, but you do have a hand on the staff you tried to cut so you can have better balance, but the two on the stairs are simply looking at you for now, they talked a bit earlier but now the situation is incredibly tense, there no doubt they aim to kill you and surviving is your objective, thus conflict of interest but you have no idea what they can try to do, if they stand to guard this war machine they HAVE to be mages. The idea of jumping down then charging the door to the storehouse is temping, with enough force you’d cleave right through and you remember how you got it, but the window was a very tight fit and took some seconds to get in, seconds you’ll never be able to spare in a fight.‘’So, stoic bug, mind telling me how, or perhaps why, you got here?’’The blond woman start walking down the stair, you see the scabbard of a belt swinging from her right, she seem only lightly clothed and devoid of armors so that’s good at least.>cont
The blond woman start walking down the stair, you see the scabbard of a belt swinging from her right, she seem only lightly clothed and devoid of armors so that’s good at least. The other woman move, she’s a brunette with ponytail with only a sword, she walking sideway to join the blonde but then she voice.‘’Sylvia, go make yourself useful and get my shield, would you?’’Your eyes shift to the tanned woman for a brief second and she’s already out of the stair. You have a good vantage point, the whole room, even with this machine, is large enough for a scrap, but dammit how to proceed!?I don’t want to die!Mental state: [Alarmed] (Soul Link will come in play)>more information next post
Here is a list of some perk/what Sylphis is good at, something to keep in mind for this after all since she’s not like Siegfried at all.Specialization: Close Quarter Combat/StealthLightweight: Not much fat, not much muscle mass, the mantis move fast, very much so in fact, but require space to do so and cannot put much strength behind each swings in case of a distance close to wrestling.Scales: Much of their sides of her upper body, with the neck and arms, are covered in green mantis scales that are much harder than they look, they absorb blunt trauma especially well and it take more than light hit from a sword to slash through, but they can’t be considered a good armor for taking hit, but a grazing one can be effectively shrugged.Scythe: slashing only, require space to use but can be brutally effective with enough windup.Endurance: amazing in that department, the girl can run, jump, and generally exhaust herself without having it take the same amount of toll on, for example, a (previous) warlord mage. Inexperience: Not exactly new to conflict, but this is clearly the very first time she find herself outnumbered, without any allies to call on, a situation very different from the bandit camp.(I can go more in depth, but I think this give a good idea of her fighting style)
>Was waiting for this yesterday! What does Sylphis have on hand? What is the light source?
>>19251986>I got sucked into my game yesterday, sorry about thatSylphis is currently ontop of this magitek machine, or golem its a bit hard to describe, around 3 meters above everything and the room is perfectly empty save for the stairs leading up, the door to the storehouse and that other one under the stair for the basement. The light source is a single lamp near the basement door.
>>19252029I mean does she have any inventory. Small throwing knives or any sort of equipment?
I say run. As to where...Castle or Inn whatever is closer at hand. How? Something rash, young, and only the inexperience would think of. We break through to the floor above us.
>>19252051Oh, Sylphis only has her two scythes, no equipement whatsoever, she had to leave everything back at the castle to be light enough for effective sneaking.
>>19252072I don't think even Slyphis can cut through the ground to escape. We'll need to run, and probably towards any reinforcements. That means the Inn since, IC, Slyphis knows that the the guards are being sent there.Does there happen to be anything throwable? A rock or some spare gear or tool on the magitek?
>>19252113Damn, was hoping for something to throw. Our best bet would be the rear. To hell with squeezing out of the window.I say we apply scythes to the glass and burst out.
>>19252160Could we buy ourselves some extra time by breaking and putting out the lantern? If I read the descriptions right, this room has no windows.
>>19252160The magitek is free form any spare object, hell there's not even dust on it. As for the inn, its rather far, the closest fal lback area would be the castle.>>19252171The window had a very simple wooden frame, but its the walls of the damn thing that are too close for comfort, someone of regular human size would never fit.
>>19252204Thats the idea, which I think >>19252171 has the same idea too.We also have enough cloth to cover a 3m tall magitek robot to play with.I say we throw it over Balalaika and tangle her up when we hit the lamp. That should buy us quite some time.We also
>>19252211Nothing to throw? Damn. Have to hit the lamp ourselves then. Then the back door I guess? I think INH mentioned that we could easily slice through the door... actually, didn't we unlock that thing when we sneaked in?
>>19252273Its unlocked, but you made certain to close it.time limit reached, post coming up
>>19252290>time limitA warning that we were on a time sensitive section would have been appreciated...
>>19252311Silly me, I'm deeply sorry for that. If you guys still want to talk the first move, go ahead, I'm the one at fault.
>>19252311Eh, most quest have time limit to make a chose/vote before the quest moves on.
>>19252343I think we have the main points down.Hit the lamp, throw cloth over balalaika and escape through the backdoor.Maybe next time, INH. Its good for now.
>>19252343Nah it's ok. Just next time, a warning would be nice.
As the two women reunite out of the stairs, you saw the third one disappear behind the nearest door after finishing her climb, but the walkway of the second story continue to the right, your night vision spot several doors that were probably resting rooms and from your position, attempting a jump is not a good idea, but the whole situation is a bad idea, nevertheless you may be able to do prodigious feat with your legs, this is simply impossible. You hear a brief sound, actually it’s the sound of breathing, and it was a brief laugh. The blond woman, with scarred burn marks probably older than you are, pulled two gloves out of her pocket, both a silky white, now her hands were covered with those but you don’t exactly understand why.‘’Mantis are troublesome opponent, we’ll have to support each other’s, One’’ The smug smile on the blonde never falter, she doesn’t even grace her partner a sideway glance, but her eyes beer on you with an incredible heaviness and bloodlust, one that is enough to make your heart thump with the very real fear of imminent doom, the instinct of self-preservation kick in and you already sense some adrenaline. The lamp, if you smash it, the oil will spread to the wood and the fire will provide an excellent distraction.‘’I haven’t danced in a while…’’>cont
So say the villain, her hand on her sword, she start to pull it out and that’s when you strike, you maneuver from the staff in one swift movement, using it and your legs as launching point, when you let go your balance is lost and you spring right toward the lit object, your scythe prepared to smash the glass in one swift horizontal move, you don’t care for the damn wood, you’ll go right through!‘’Ah!?’’You can’t keep the small scream, still in the air a white screen suddenly appeared out of thin air, but fortunately one of your scythes was retracted and reflex take over, you use your hand to stop a very painful crash and prepare your legs, using this magic shield has a second springboard. What the hell!? A shield out of nowhere!?>Sylphis has effectively managed a crash land on this magic shield, her lightweight, agility and reflex allow for one, single jump you’ve barely traveled one meter in the air. Time sensitive, you can’t afford to look at your foes if you wish to jump back toward the construct, or aim somewhere else.
>>19252431Oh shit.Jump off the shield towards the backdoor then.Time to get out! Hopefully they can only manifest one at a time.
>>19252456Agreed, let's get out while we can.
>Mental State: [Alarmed]You snarl and put as much strength as you can muster behind your legs, the work of less than a second and you find yourself in the air once more, the second jump was much more of a success and you hear a curse as the second ward materialize behind you, no doubt the mage tried to box you in.!Chance! You have enough velocity and altitude to grab on the walkway of the second floor! However that might make you easy prey for the mage…>1d6 for grabbing and pulling, or for the charge toward the back, whatever is the decision
rolled 6 = 6>>19252542Towards the back!
rolled 4 = 4>>19252542Sure why not.
>>19252560GJ
A split second decision, your hand graze the old wood of the walkway and again, reflex take over and you push yourself down as hard as you can, allowing for an exchange of velocity, and this action is the reason why you managed to out speed the second, small shield that was very likely to have been made in order to throw off your balance: in the air without any wing, this is a very easy thing to do. A lack of oxygen, these movements might have appeared small, but jumping with so much force is not something easy to do, combined with the stress of incoming death, nothing but the adrenaline bought but your survival instinct allow your movement. You land on the ground – hard – your scales absorb the impact with ease and you don’t even take a split second of breathing. You already charge to the door, slashing scythe in coming in horizontal and burst through, crashing right on the crates with the sounds of broken woods as you hear back in the room a single word, spoken with haste ‘’BELVEDERE’’.The window, the thing is closed; buts it’s the wall that are tight, going through WILL take some precious seconds. This room, you don’t look over it for you already did that previously, is small, tight and dark, waiting in ambush could be a possibility.>If the window, will need another d6.
rolled 2 = 2>>19252700Press our luck with the window.
rolled 4 = 4>>19252700Window!
>>19252716I think that's going to leave a mark.
>>19252700Didn't we unlock the door?cant we just waltz out?
>>19252716Hopefully that 6 earlier bought us a few extra seconds.
rolled 4 = 4>>19252700Go for the window
>>19252730You closed the window because, after all, you needed to sneak and leave no trace~As for the door, it was unlocked true, but you did not had the time to open it, crashing through was the best option, well with that slow a window for reflexion anyway.
>>19252759Ah.Wrong door then.>gotta go fast, slyphis!
Another slash, the side frames come down, leaving only the sound of crashing woods, you step on the crate leveling you with your escape squeeze with all you’re might, it scratch and hurt quite a bit but who care!? You’ve got to be out, fast! The sounds of footstep, one of the woman is coming here fast and-There a bit of resistance, this cause you to stop and look, your scythe is still extended but it won’t be a problem, true you’ve got to-The swordswoman could be compared to a monster of the Old Era as far as you’re concerned, the woman doesn’t blink when she see you halfway through the window, her presence however, allow a brief panic to take over and you SQUEEZE AND FORCE YOURSELF OUT OUT.‘’Gaah!’’>cont
You scream as the blade pierce your side, right below the ribs, the resistance of your scales allowed a mortal blow to becoming a mild wound, you come crashing down through the small window as the brunette swordswoman curse, the blade is coming out of the window and on it, a… a quarter of it is drenched in blood, still dripping.A wave of nausea and pain hit you and you scramble to your fit to cough, bile is all that come out as the wound flow in a very, very painful manner. >Mental State: [Panic]--Siegfried Shieffer is not exactly happy right now.You made certain to be annoyingly difficult with the Mantis and it took probably 20 damn minutes to make yourself understood and seeing a superior, but right now, the link of Sylphis is troubling you an great deal, she was resolute, serious, slightly scared and now in the manner of a single minutes, she went through so much intense feelings you had to sit, and now there is panic, a great deal of it, taking control of her.>Post limit is one; only one action is possible, back in the skin of Siggy of course.
>>19252933no matter what else happens, no matter the cost we must find and save her
>>19252933>slyphis>MFWNo time to pussyfoot around. Time to walk out o that room and go after slyphis. If the mantises try to stop us, ask them if they're willing to bear the responsibility of killing the emissary that sparked off a war. When we get out look for the old man or the regent. Either should be able to help us.
We could always focus if they try and stop us.Though this situation seems increasingly likely to become a diplomatic incident.
>>19252933Walk out and find the guard captain. If anyone tries to stop us, we tell them that we have been informed of an imminent danger to our entourage, and that if they don't get out of our way, that it will be considered a diplomatic incident.
With one mighty kick, the door to your luxurious cell open as the duo of Mantis jump out of the way and hiss at you like a cat, but you’ve already embraced Focus and no doubt your face right now must be quite unique as your raging concern make you scream ‘’YOU TWO ARE COMING WITH ME’’There a pause, they look at you, completely emotionless.‘’I WILL NOT REPEAT MYSELF’’Your hands are encased in ice, Sylphis is hurt, the link tell you of her panic and even as you are enraged, thinking nothing but her safety, you make certain to be calm and confident, right now the link is the only thing that can help her, but as you run downs the hall, the Mantis shadow you in clear confusion, asking you numerous thing. It would seem a meeting with the queen was prepared, but right now you’ve got other priority. >cont
Even with gritting your teeth, the tears fall form your eyes, you don’t know why flash of people kept coming in your head, be it Tsukiyomi-no-Mikoto, Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto, Hadraniel, even the one you love as a sister, Athena, they all came in your head in brief flash but when you remember the clear eyes of this –man- you heart squeezed. The link, his feelings, awash in you, his concern, his rage, make you bite your lisp but in a few seconds you only feel his confidence, a support that calm your erratic breathing and you immediately get up, clutching your side, the swordswoman is out of sight but…The blond, scarred woman come to a halt, you spot symbols on her gloves, her veins are glowing silver, her hand is holding a sword and her eyes are blue, but hold none of the clarity of Siggy.‘’Quite the show’’You can still… move! Mayhap your breathing is shallow but it’ll take more to do you in.‘’Now, how about you tell me why you came here? Who, as well, would be quite the information, you want to lengthen your life, don’t you?’’>Mental State: [Alarmed]
>>19253230Gotta stall for some time, gather what strength we have for a last minute burst out of sight.Look around any possible escape routes?"I'm... I'm a mantis, what do you think?"
>>19253230We gotta stall for time, give Siggy a chance to get here.
Your blood is red; it’s flowing from your fingers in a continuous stream, you don’t look – you’d better not do that -, the nausea is still there but the first bout of vomiting after your wound seem to have been the only one, that’s good, really it is.Footstep on the dirt, as the scarred witch approached with her blue, soulless eyes on you she is rejoined by the other woman, the brunette with a ponytail with a young visage, still holding her sword, it would seem the tanned one is not here, but you can’t help but look at the blade with your blood – my blood – and feel nauseated all the more. "I'm... I'm a mantis, what do you think?"You croak, eliciting a chuckle from the tall, scarred woman, she’s approaching and you are retreating, soon your back is to the wall.‘’Let’s see. I believe that people or beast are usually more useful alive than dead, but right now I’m thinking you’d be better off without your life for you have seen quite enough. I know your trick, the only way out is through this alley – now guarded – or to climb to the rooftop of the surrounding structure but you aren’t fit enough for that, your eyes are glossy, insect’’She pauses then point at you with your sword.‘’Mayhap some bravado is still lingering, and from the earlier display I wouldn’t fault you, but don’t underestimate your wound.’’Then she smile, with a derisive chuckle.‘’Now, how could you be useful to me?’’
>>19253399"What... what do you want?"Based on her speech... there might be a path open.Back into the building, up the stairs? Then maybe out the window to the roofs?Stall for more time in anycase.
Hey, this is still going. Guess I'll catch up with... uhh twelve threads.
When Siggy gets here, there's going to be hell to pay.
>>19253481You know it'll be worth it.
>>19253453Agreed with making it look like we're willing to give out information for more time to live.We need to stall for as much time as we can get.
"What... what do you want?"Your side hurt, your tone isn’t proud or controlled but you don’t care, you look at the tall woman, but you certainly don’t hide your fleeting stare to her back, or another to the window. The veins of this woman are pure white, the contrast with her burn make her look… somewhat demonic, you aren’t able to swallow very well either, you have to spit constantly and sometime there is a bit of blood but the wound is still flowing, it’s still going.‘’Who ordered you to come here? And why?’’She doesn’t seem to want to wait, one of your leg feel sluggish and you’ve got to sit on one knee. Some tears obscure your vision
>>19253559How much should we give away? That we were sent by the ambassador? Would that result in her killing us faster because she realizes what an incident this could become?
>>19253611Actually the one that asked you to shadow the tanned woman, Sylvia, was the regent.
>>19253626Well yes, that's the truth, I was just wondering if falsehood would be better.
>>19253559We know there's 'manhunt' for two other members of the party. Could just say we were apart of that and simple saw a suspicious person wondering around the back alleys. You know bluff, give no info, etc.
>>19253647There no real way to know unless you say it, is there?~
>>19253559Shit, escape doesn't look very possible right now."The... the queen... She ordered me to shadow.. her..." point at Sylvia, "and to report on her activities."I suppose we should encourage the illusion that we report directly to the queen still....Though if we go truthfully, their further questioning should buy us more time.
>>19253611If anything, it would buy us some time. If the ambassador was suspicious enough to send Sylphis, then her failure to return will likely set off some alarm bells and lead to greater scrutiny. On the other hand, we may want to balance this against the chance that knowing they've found out will accelerate their plans.Possibly we could ask her to "take a guess"? It could get us a little more time. We could possibly even ask what the hell the long-term plan is. She seems quite the talker. If we can get her talking, she'll probably keep going right up until Siggy reaches down her throat and pulls her inside out by her own ass.
Hmm how to proceed then, do yo uguys want to go with>>19253662Or>>19253678
>>19253678Or we could say the regent sent us, or one of the guards, or whatever. Point is I want her to start into an evildoer monologue.
>>19253678I think take a guess would end badly. She doesn't look like shes in a mood to fool around....Arghh...Maybe go with the ambassador route. That will set off all sorts of alarm bells like that the other domains possibly have their own mantis agencies. They'll want to pump Slyphis for more info.>gawd, I hope this isn't a mistake...
>>19253749You know whats going to happen.Siggy finding Sylphis in the alley...dead. Then we learn that there is indeed consequences for our actions. That be great way to really hammer that point in.>note I really hope that doesn't happen...
>>19253851Oh god no.
>>19253851>Sylphis deadWelp, that's one way to spark a diplomatic incident.
>>19253851There will be hell to pay.
‘’My orders… I was to follow…’’You stop, trembling slightly, the pain, it’s hard to endure the blood is still flowing…‘’My orders came from the ambassador’’You don’t know why this flew out smoothly, but you look at the scarred witch dead in the eyes, chasing your fear, you don’t know how good you are at lying but to reveal you took a mission from the regent, even if you are not an agent…‘’BULLSHIT’’The blade imbeds itself harshly near your cheek, grazing the scales and slashing a small amount of your ear, that’s going to leave a mark. But the woman is towering over you, her eyes are angry, yet resolute and calm as her mouth twist into some kind of twisted smile, once that quicken your breath and force tears in your eyes, the scars, the glowing-.‘’G-Geuh…’’>cont
>>19253851
Your mouth vomit bile and blood as completely white screen suddenly slam and press itself on your abdomen, not hard enough to crush anything or even hurt but your state make roughing you up very painful, if not deadly. There fear, you feel it right into your bones but as you look up to the witches with uneven breathing and fluid coming down your mouths, nose and eyes, you don’t feel that afraid anymore.‘’The only ambassador in the castle right now is this young man, Siegfried Shieffer.’’Then she smile and laugh, to your ears it sound wicked.‘’Actually, did -HE- send you here?’’Her tone, it’s as if she has a vendetta… but her words, you ignore them, why? You don’t know, the visage of your mother was gentle if expressionless and you never really knew her, but she always liked to say something like ‘’When you have to die, Sylphis, don’t waste your death. Make it count’’You have a duty, don’t you? After all, you could never repay Ame-no-Uzume for the safe lodging and giving you a purpose, this woman, this witch… is a clear obstacle to the negotiation, the second mission you’ve been entrusted. One of your arm, your left, you’re dominant arm, still has the scythe. Why aren’t you feeling afraid anymore?>Mental State: [Resolute]
>>19253916>the glowing-.Have no fear, Shiggy's hear
>>19253873You know, water does a very good job expanding as it freezes into ice. So good that if some water gets into the joints between bricks or stones and freezes, it can basically crumble walls and collapse buildings.Just keep that in mind. All it takes sometimes is a little pressure.
>>19253932Siggy wouldn't want you to die.
Sometimes I just want to driveuntil the streets run out.I want to freeze until there'snothing left to freeze about. This city's waiting for a better day. When I get back there will be hell to pay. But, if I'm the only one left standing,I will not be afraid to fight.I'm breaking out of here tonight.
>>19253932Rip and tear.Trust in siegfried, he wouldn't let you down and he still needs your help.
>>19253932Fuuuu.... this is so IC...But she'll be expecting an attack. One that she can easily counter since she can manifest more than one shield. No, trying to attack will waste Slyphis' life. No clear gain for attacking and everything to lose.Keep talking..."He... he did."
>>19253932Damn, but an attack now would be ineffective. She's too far away and she could manifest a shield. We've got to buy more time.
>>19253990Seconded on the not attacking. The mark of an immature person is that they want to die nobly for a cause, and the mark of a mature person is that they want to live humbly for one. Trying to ensure a "worthwhile death" when there are people who want you to survive is the pinnacle of selfish and immature behavior.I think it's time for Sylphis to grow up a bit. Keep her talking and wait for Siggy.
>>19253932Actually I'd like to know why she thinks Sigfried would send Sylphis to interfere with her. Do they have a history? That should get her talking like no other.
Likely murdered someone close to her during monster butcher days.
>>19254074Remember the Tan woman was sent to Charm Sigfried and failed.
>>19254074A dozen or so threads back, when we switched to that one Purifier we had met, didn't we let it slip to One that Siegfried was the one that had actually cured the Lady of Crosswalk, and that he was traveling with two monsters?
>>19254112That particular sidestory didn't get off the ground very far... Not too sure.
>‘’But make sure that when you have to, IF you have to do such a sacrifice, you’ll need to do it when it’ll be the most effective’’Your mother never really knew how to express her love, she was a member of the Mantis order, but she abandoned all of it why? And she kept saying similar things, the year on the roads was miserable but somehow good too, she played the flute…>‘’Find someone worthwhile to serve or love’’-I don’t want to die- You grit your teeth, death is sometime never far reaching for mantises after all, the noblest of self-sacrifice is so, so engrossing, taking down the opposition with you… a bug you are, but a large one, and by the gods you’re more than a simple MONSTER. -I don’t want to die-‘’He did’’A small croak, you look beside the blond witches and her bodyguard is nowhere in sight, that tanned one is probably gone by now as well. ‘’Sharp, worthy of being her son then. Gaining the loyalty of a mantis, hm, mayhap you could be useful after all…’’Has it been ten minutes?‘’BELVEDERE’’>cont>>19254112I scrapped everything from that one.
She doesn’t turn from you, her blue; ice cold eyes are peering right in yours while the swordswoman is back.‘’Company! Three individuals! Around three to four minutes! We’ve got to move’’Her eyebrows twitch, distraction? Who is coming? You feel some renewed vigor.‘’I guess I should finish the job then’’She’s going to strike! You duck as the blade tear through the wood, but your attempted evasion is cut short by a screen of white, one that you slam your wounded side into.‘’Actually, it might just be better to let you live, but I wonder. Why is he in Zipangu?’’Two other shields box you in, but your legs can’t support you, you slowly slip to the ground as blood color the first one.
>>19254203She's inclined to let us live... we're losing so much blood. Mumble something, then pretend to fall back against the wall and faint from blood loss.>Run faster, siggyyyy!
>>19254203"None of your concern."Or "Ask him yourself..."
"Why don't you ask him yourself?"
>>19254203Mumble an answer, to buy just a little more time.Come on, Siggy! Faster!
>>19254203Ah, so the know-it-all bitch isn't as clever as she thinks she is."Wait a few minutes. Maybe he'll tell you before sending you to hell."
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lsEaVhmWp4)"Ask him yourself..."Your voice lack edge and defiance, you simply glare through tears, nausea and fatigue. And her laugh is, somehow, in good humor.‘’The human body is much more resilient than most think, you just have to make sure nothing dreadful is cut, but I wonder, can a monster resist what a man can? I would love for you to prove it to me, bug.’’Her sword skewer your abdomen in one, swift and resolute move, yet your consciousness still cling. -It hurt-One eye closed, you glare, you feel another wave of vomit coming but this time it’s more blood than bile, but soon enough…-->[CHARACTER SHIFT] SIEGFRIED‘’Raaah!’’You scream as you run, only once have you made such a sprint and it was to run for your life during the civil war and by the gods, you’ve been even faster here. The link is all you need as direction, the pain she feel is coming to you in wave but it only fuel your need, the mantis that accompanied you need to keep a hand on her hood and sprint full speed, she doesn’t even reach your side. And Keldran, somehow, was coming back on the main road but when you saw him, all you did was scream ‘’come with me’’ and sure enough, he did without a single complaint or question beside some ‘’what the hell?’’ here and there as you continued, the link also told you of Hadraniel concern and, sure enough, you’ve become certain she left the Tanuki area.
The sun is almost down, its glaring bright orange almost made you miss a silhouette standing on one of the rooftop, one that quickly sprinted away, but you don’t give a damn about subtlety. But then a pain much worse than the one at your side almost make you fall, it’s only thank to the old man that you manage to avoid a dirt meal, no words are exchange however and all of you simply sprint to destinationAnd there, as you maneuver on the back of some large structure, you spot Sylphis resting on the wall, erratic of breaths with a sword on the ground, her bloody hand…‘’NO!’’Strangely the one screaming wasn’t you, the old Keldran growl and turn, but not before giving you a sharp glare while the Mantis, breathing hard, immediately set to work and exit the area. And just like that you are alone, the two companions you brought with you seem to have preferred duty over the well-being of the girl.Your precious companion.

Is there a palace healer?
>>19254539Can a water mage do any type of healing?Failing that we can use ice as a sealant to cover her wounds, stop the loss of blood while we get her to a healer.
>>19254570More than likely, the Mantis is heading back there as we speak.>>19254588You are focused entirely on offense, the only healing magic is the Holy type.
>>19254588Freezing her wounds would probably be a poor idea. Only thing we can probably do is try to bind the wounds/stop blood loss and if we can make ice and put them over the wounds. Assuming human physiology applies to her blood vessels, it should cause them to constrict and slow her blood loss a bit.
>>19254618I though the ice we created was not cold to the touch?
>>19254621It can be, if you so choose, same thing with creating acidic water.
>>19254621I've forgotten honestly. If we can get something cold though, that could be useful.
>>19254618Yes, the ice (assuming it's not magical warm ice or some shit) will cause tissue damage over a prolonged period. But in this case she's already bleeding out from thoracic injuries. You can't bind that or apply a tourniquet to it like you would a limb. Packing it with ice is the only thing I can think of that we can do that will actually have an effect.Besides, any actual healer should be able to handle some frostbite, and if our ice isn't cold to the touch, it'll be able to pressure pack it much better than gauze or cloth.
>>19254648Then use it to cover her wounds and apply pressure to stop blood loss.
>>19254648So our protocol should be to pack the actual wound with notcold ice to provide a physical barrier to internal bleeding, then apply cold ice externally to induce clinical hypothermia and further slow her rate of blood loss.Combine the two and she just might survive long enough to get a healer on-site. Or we could put her on a platform of ice, freeze the ground in front of her, and slide her to one. Fuck it. Whatever strategy gets a healer and Sylphis in the same place.
It's not really relevant at the moment, but is there a range on the link we have?I.e. can we sense Athena and vice versa?
>>19254749I think we can 'feel' she's alive but nothing more.
You don’t bother to hesitate; your long sleeved, luxurious shirt is ripped apart as you get to work on providing first aid, your years in the field of duty gave you all the tip any man would need, you also create some nice, chilled ice to pick up once your treatment is over, and soon enough the makeshift bandages are made-A sudden, sharp pain in your right arm?You glace to Sylphis, that limb is alright; her head is balancing unevenly but what…‘’Aa! Wha..’’You’ve felt Sylphis pain when she was skewered, it was quite something but you soldiered on but this, this is something else entirely. You can only writhe on the ground and your whole member is one hot blistering pain, the worse you’ve ever felt in your entire life, filling your mind with a MAKE IT STOP rhythm, losing yourself as try to suppress your moan.‘’Siggy, its okay…’’ A hand caress your sweaty hair, the ice you summoned is gone but as you look up, the mantis give you a smile that tighten your heart, all this pain, all these emotions – she’s happy! She’s worried about YOU - ‘’Young man!?’’The old, Keldran suddenly arrive as you close your fist, trembling, writhing, tears coming down your face as the pain is so out of this world, what the hell…But then you Focus back and summon the disappeared ice.‘’H-Help…her!’’>cont
You say in a grunt, you make sure to give the man some space but somehow, tears are falling down Sylphis face as you distance yourself. What the hell!? There a sense of doom in your heart, the pain continue as the man seem much, much more experience than you in first aid and as a team from the palace arrive, you have to be helped back to the palace as well, your arm hurt so, so much. There is only one thing to realize: something happened to someone you care about. But at the very least, the dispatched healer managed to stabilize the mantis for transportation…>Here you can either sleep a bit or just stay conscious all the way.
>>19254539"You two, help me save Syphis or I turn one of you into a popsicle and beat the other to death with it. And before you ask, yes, if the girl dies I will actually follow through."Honestly, we should be mad.
>>19254819Let's not threaten people at the moment.>>19254815Stay awake. Wonder why the heck Siggy's arm started to hurt...
>>19254819In after the nick of time. Also, seems like we were feeling as much of her pain as she was. Is it supposed to work like that?>>19254815Stay awake. Sleep is for the weak and the dead, and we're neither.
>>19254805>arm injury.>probably athenaGod dammit.Stay awake. Fires to put out. Go find the regent.
>>19254834Athena perhaps? Injured during her trial by combat?
>>19254815All this sad. INHHHHHHHStay awake. This is a crisis time. We can sleep when everyone is ok.
Now that things are a bit calm, I'll be back in 20 minutes
>>19254911Time to start planning the counter attack. With all that activity near that building, I don't they have a chance of moving that magitek without anyone noticing it. One does not simply walk a 3m tall bot down the street and I'll call bullshit if they can take it apart and transport it away, fast.So at least, that robot is gone. Siggy might actually be able to use that thing.
We already lost Avina. We best not lose Sylphis too.
The walk to the castle was… solemn, the pain in your arm smoothened to a constant throb before vanishing entirely while constant wave of concern and fear from Hadraniel made you send some sort of sad confidence, but she was making her way to the castle with the Oomukade, that’s for certain and to hell the witness.Quite frankly, you didn’t give any damn about them, what if an angel is seen with a monstrosity? Maybe that’s going to mean the centipedes are as good as any of them! Soldiers shielded the transported Sylphis, while you were finally able to walk alone, without the help of the old man who was looking at the Mantis with just as much concern as you, what is his relation with her…?--‘’So…?’’>cont
The healer, an Arachne of pale hair and skin with bright, red eyes, support your gaze with a gentle expression but it is nonetheless solemn.‘’Tonight will be… crucial, we’ve blessed her with the Water Dragon of course and I did everything I am able – with funds directly from our nations – but the best hope would be to transport her to the domain you are from, ambassador, if the tales of the Shrine of the resting god-dragon are true’’ … Giving you some form of hope huh? The woman exit, Sylphis was given her own large room to rest in and now she’s of course, sleeping and recovering, it’s been a few hours now and all you could do was think in a loop and, quite honestly, feel like shit. The sun has completely settled down and as you start to think on what to do, you spot a petit silhouette in a cape without a hood, a Mantis and despite yourself you frown: The girl is a perfect twin of Sylphis, down to the hair, antenna, eyes…. Ah no wait, her scales are slightly darker. ‘’The regent would like to speak to you, Siegfried Shieffer’’Her voice is cold, detached. Uncaring.‘’But it would seem visitors have arrived, they were given asylum inside Keldran barracks.’’Well… that’s good at least. But frankly you feel like refusing speaking to that cat, even if she was good company. Hadraniel also seem afraid despite her best attempt to hiding it, and you still have the talisman given to you by Tsukiyomi agent…
>>19255260Was Slyphis able to give any details of her encounter?Best to go see the regent.
>>19255286She slept all the way after voicing her concern for you during that little arm crisis
I say we see Hadraniel first before the regent.
>>19255260Go with the mantis. We need to settle this problem.
>>19255260"Then I shall meet with the regent by way of the barracks."Check on Hadraniel, then see the regent.
>>19255321Took long enough for a meeting to be arranged with the regent. The diplomatic thing to do would be to make HER wait this time. If she needs to speak with us, she can come find US. Seeing this would put things in perspective. In any event, talk with the angel first. Our own affairs take top priority.
>>19255388The regent is the catfolk we met earlier, the one whom we were meeting when we got captured. The queen we still have yet to see.
"Then I shall meet with the regent by way of the barracks."You glance at the smaller girl before shifting your gaze to the door, wondering who the hell managed to do that to Sylphis, why? And why the hell was she in such a situation anyway? The mantis is silent for a few second before nodding, her antenna moving slightly and then she is gone.Might as well be on your way…--You had to ask a passing servant to show you the way; at least the castle is very populated so anyone trying to sneak in and finish the job would have a very hard time. The barracks aren’t active, the people in uniform are gossiping amidst lit lantern and you spot two men, both of similar build, one with a spear the other with a sword, smoking and talking while in a courtyard two severe looking male were engaged in duel with wooden weapons, each of them was around your age, save for the smaller one, could call him a boy, flirting with some of the monsters. As you step in the main building, the one you need to go to see the regent, you open a door at random and see…Hadraniel and Bletsia, the centipede is fast asleep on the angel tights and, from her look, you can’t help but feel tender. She really looks like a mother…‘’How is she doing?’’Her bright eyes fall on yours, she was made known of most of the event and, its undeniable, a white hot ember of flame is only begging to gain oxygen and burst.
Random thought: Do we have Hadraniel sword or not.If not we really should look into getting it back. Kinda important.
>>19255546Oh yes, that was given back to you now, you're pretty much free to go as you please, direct order from the regent and the head of clan.
>>19255456"Not well... She is gravely injured and the healers said tonight will be crucial and advised for her to be sent home to heal, soon.""How are you two? Were you in harm's way?"
>>19255574Agreed but maybe we should ask Hadraniel if she knows any healing magic. She is an angel so it might be possible.
>>19255605Good idea. Lets do that.
"Not well... She is gravely injured and the healers said tonight will be crucial and advised for her to be sent home to heal, soon."She bites her bottom lips, tightening her free hand on the heft of her spear as it produces a metallic sound. She stays silent and you watch her for a few seconds, white long wings, long blond hair… If she had been with you, could you have reached that place faster?Bah best not to longer on that kind of thoughts."How are you two? Were you in harm's way?"A silence, a long one, but when Hadraniel speak, she doesn’t face you.‘’Two mantises came for Bletsia head, thankfully Holm… that’s the werewolf, was of quick thinking and escaped with her, I was then free to dispatch the both of them.’’She says in a totally relaxed tone, as if going toe to toe with two mantises even more trained than Sylphis is something easy. ‘’I made certain to give light wounds, and they’ve offered sufficient apologies later’’ Well that’s good at least, still dispatching two mantises... ‘’Do you think you can offer Sylphis healing?’’Probably note, she hasn’t offered to do it yet and knowing her, she would have run to the mantis side if she could.‘’I do not know, Siegfried, but at present I cannot…’’Then she suddenly looks beside you with a sudden, very brief fear, prompting you to look, but you see nothing.‘’Mayhap you should go attend your business? Surely you didn’t come here to see me’’
>>19255687"I did come to see you. I had to make sure at least you and Bletsia were safe after I saw what had happened to Sylphis. I'll return when I can."
>>19255687"I shall, Hadraniel. But first, I have been feeling fear from you. That is quite unlike you. What could make one such as you feel such acute fear?"
>>19255687"I will... I was... afraid. I came here to prevent someone dear being taken away, not to lose them. I wanted to make sure you two were safe."Say a quick goodbye and then go find the regent. Bout time to get down to work ferreting out those bastards.
>>19255738This. The cause of that kind of fear will always turn out to be relevant.
"I did come to see you. I had to make sure at least you and Bletsia were safe after I saw what had happened to Sylphis. I'll return when I can."Your voice lacks its usual edge, but Hadraniel give you a nod, you feel a small amount of sadness but also something very warm coming from her.‘’I don’t think we’ll be facing any danger now, but if you have to go out tonight, then make sure I am to follow’’She was not asking, there no doubt she wanted to fine those responsible for Sylphis wounds as much as you, even if the time she knew the mantis had been short, you can’t help but smile at such idea. ‘’But… I’ve been feeling fear from you, Hadraniel, would you mind sharing why?’’The angel eyes close, her wings also fall slightly as she rubs the head of the centipede.‘’I know not, ever since we entered this city, it feel like I am watched and stalked. Now begone young man, you have something to do’’She shoo you away with a small wave of her hand, and you find yourself resolute to go to the regent, which take around 5 minutes as you maneuver around the damn place. But soon enough you find her, sitting with her legs beneath the low table, drinking some kind of liquid and as she see you, her ears twitch and she nod.‘’I offer you greeting on this night, Siegfried’’You take your place in silence and give her your best neutral look.‘’Ask, and I shall answer as best I can.’’
>>19255851"An explanation as to why my dear companion was found bleeding to death in a back alley would be very much appreciated. As well as how the situation has changed.""Who exactly was that handmaiden? Someone capable of using magic to subtly charm people has no legitimate reason to be in that position."
>>19255910I'll just agree with this. As my first thought was along the lines of asking for reason not to turn the place into a icy graveyard. I was never good with diplomacy.
>>19255910Second. Not entirely sure what to ask at the moment to be honest. Unfortunately, I need to refresh myself on why we're here again.
>>19256084We're looking to get an alliance with these people.
"An explanation as to why my dear companion was found bleeding to death in a back alley would be very much appreciated. As well as how the situation has changed."You put your elbows on the table then rest your chin in your hands, looking at her straight in the eyes, her gaze falter as she’s biting her lisps without showing her teeth. The silence is heavy.‘’I needed an agent outside the order. I was certain, nay convinced, the woman known as Sylvia was up to something, but for her to actually be a charmer, and as for what we found in the alchemist warehouse…’’She pauses then finishes her drink in one big audible gulp, seem like she just thrown most etiquette right out the window.‘I’ve got the placed sealed tight, very, very tight, I’ll let you in on a secret.’’She pauses then looks at you.‘’We have another one of those machine, right here in the castle, only humans mages can use them’’ Your jaw clench slightly but you simply look at her for a moment before voicing, your voice heavy and grave.‘’Why was this charmer in her position?’’The regent, Ran, let out a long, long sight.‘’It’s a very long story, really. But let’s just say I’m certain she mostly subtly charmed her way in, went right past my noses, those of the mantises AND the new police force. But the start, what allowed her to come, was the fact that my cousin, our queen, needed a… spirit healer and she offered.’’She pauses.‘’And we made certain to be careful with any kind of mind trick, look where that got us’’
>>19256113"I assume she cannot be found anymore at this point now that what they've been hiding was discovered? Do you even know why she might have been doing it and who she was working with?"
>>19256113"A spirit healer? Why would the queen require one? It is perhaps past time that I met with her. I understand she meant to speak to me before I knocked the door down.""What of the assailants? Do we have any news to their whereabouts or their objectives? Did you find anything else of note in that warehouse?">running out of angry mini idol images
>>19256113"Have you been able to find who this Sylvia was working for, and what they were planning on doing? A machine like that, so close to the palace..."And the Queen, does she know, now, that she was used and manipulated? Perhaps it is time that I spoke to her."
>>19256079Naw, you're not bad at diplomacy. This is a very appropriate time for sabre-rattling. The caustic tone we went there is scaled to the situation, though. Outright threats of massive violent retaliation are wasted when the other party's actions are heavily restricted.
>>19256238What he said.If there was a time for siggy to get angry, this is it.
"I assume she cannot be found anymore at this point now that what they've been hiding was discovered? Do you even know why she might have been doing it and who she was working with?"You relax your tone and your gaze, but not your position.‘’The capital is vast, but we have the police and soldiers dispatched with some of our mantis, but moving under the cover of night in the back alley… Frankly I fear the assailant will be lost, were already organizing some manhunt outside the city, some of the frustrated nobles gladly took the opportunity.’’So she’s doing the best she can huh? Went here she went and used Sylphis like that.‘’As for who, I had my doubt, but the letter bearing Ame-no-Uzume seal prompted me to act.’’Oh so she did opened it? You need not ask, she simply stare at you for a moment, she’s obviously weighting the option of telling you.‘’The Church is planning an invasion, the letter asked to prepare the army for all-out war’’Your breath stop for a moment, you simply stare at her, an invasion? Now!? Isn’t the frontline with the Demon Lord down south? Why the hell are they wasting…?Bah!‘’Maybe I should speak to the queen’’You voice in a stern voice, your rage barely contained, but then you hear a voice in the hallway.‘’Your grace, you should be sleeping!’’And other similar tales, so this queen is FINALLY ‘gracing’ you with her presence huh?
The regent is simply staring ahead, unmoving, likely deep in thought. The door open to a stern looking Mantis who glare at you a bit, but then a smaller body make her way past and you see…It’s a catfolk, yes, one of small stature, long, long white hair and bright red eye, one eye. The other is closed, forever so for a long and deep scar make the prospect of opening it impossible, she’s also a little bit shorter than Sylphis, and her white, fluffy ears are fallen flat on her head. But what catches your attention is the fact she’s holding herself upright with a crutch, you see her right leg is missing below the knee.‘’Huh… hello?’’She asks tentatively, the Mantis helping her walk step inside but, once she is in the room, the small fragile girl shoo her away.‘’I’m… huh I’m s-sorry for my incompetence…’’ She fall flat on her bottom and look at the ground, you hate to feel pity but damn…
>>19256444A kid with a missing leg... How to maintain anger at someone like that...
>>19256444Come on, /tg/. Help the poor kid to her feet.We may be angry, but we're still a gentleman.
>>19256501Definitely. Help her on to a seat and try to see if she came to talk to us for reasons other than apologizing.
>>19256501There is protocol and etiquette that must be observed.Besides, the Mantis will likely have a scythe at our throat the moment we touch the Queen.
>>19256546The mantis got shoo'd. Besides, it seems like normal protocol is out the window on this op.Good riddance, says I.
>>19256444"Would you like some assistance, your Highness?"We should ask first, then help her to the table.
>>19256444Walk over and bend down to the the kid on the floor."Are you her majesty, Queen Rhy of the North?More than anyone else, the leader's burden is the heaviest and no number of skilled attendants will ease that weight very much. For your people, who look to you for guidance and strength and for yourself; the will and strength to lead cannot waver. Now please your majesty, please stand up. Least I treat with you from above."
The mantis seem to want to step inside, but the small cat girl shake her head, bah you can’t take it, you were ready for a stern talking but this… this is not what you were expecting at all.You step out of the table and walk toward the white girl, even her clothes are peerless, her hair is touching the ground and for a moment you look at the mantis and give her a smile, before looking at the girl"Are you her majesty, Queen Rhy of the North?’’You expected her to be a child, but she’s actually fairly grown, her eyes look at you with not the kind of sadness a child would produce, but she does seem genuinely scared, and guilty too, it’s written all over her face. She’s still a teenager, but at your question, she slowly nods. You were preparing a lecture, a heavy one, but when you look at her, at the people around you, it dawn on you that you really shouldn’t, this is not the time or place to question leadership, but if you could talk with this scarred queen alone... She is fragile.>cont
You offer your hand to her and gently lead her to the table, not before voicing, in a much gentle tone.‘’I am not here to cast judgment, merely to try and understand the result of today’’And in silence, she plop on the ground, cheeks reddening.‘’I heard that another… another mantis was hurt, she’s likely to be your friend, the others ones wanted her back too but I said to back off, we’ve got the police too so they don’t need new member that much or be swamped in work, but still I don’t really know what happened or why and well…’’And she goes on, Ran eyes close for a moment, but you interrupt the small girl by patting her head.‘’Even if I could, I don’t think I could be angry, and this is not pity, for that is the feeling I hate the most.’’You are prideful after all.Her red eye can’t support your gaze, the albino queen take a moment, fidgeting, her ears and tail swinging.‘’W-well… You have questions?’’
>>19256585>>19256536>>19256501My idea is we cannot cuddle the queen, since it is obvious that is what has been done to her for a long time. She doesn't need pity, she needs respect from a peer; and if we just go in a help her out of pity, we're no different and she will not change and hopefully mature into a proper queen.
>>19256687One question that comes to mind for me is why are the mantises after Bletsias head or what Hadraniel thought was them going after her.>>19255687>Two mantises came for Bletsia head
>>19256687"Why did you want me arrested initially?""Why do you require a spirit healer?"
>>19256726Worth asking. Also we should ask what her thoughts on the letter we gave to her regent were. Assuming she's seen it.
>>19256726>>19256760These are good questions to start off with.
‘’One to start’’Your gaze if heavy as you look at the small girl, her unique eye obviously can’t support it and for a moment you allow yourself to wander and look at the regent who is looking at you silently. ‘’My companion, the angel Hadraniel, said to me that two mantises invaded her previous lodgings and came to kill the charge me, Sylphis and her took upon ourselves to protect and care for, the Oomukade Bletsia: I ask why.’’The girl is looking down, fidgeting with her long, regal clothes.‘’Sylvia S-she… well she ‘suggested’ me to do that, it wasn’t the usual hour for the daily ritual but she was insistent and well… the mantises never question me so they went ahead with what I ordered’’And then her ears fall flat went again, she’s not looking at you at all, merely down at her hands.‘’I-I’m sorry…’’ You pause, but simply look at you, making certain to not glare and leveling your tone.‘’I assume my arrest was another of her suggestion?’’She lifts her head and look at you before nodding."Why do you require a spirit healer?"The question make her winces, she close her single eye and stop fidgeting and moving, but her voice is smile, you hear the remark ‘’because I’m worthless…’’‘’Siegfried’’The tone of the regent is steel.‘’If she doesn’t want to answer, then you will not know’’But then the albino queen looks up to her cousin.‘’B-but shouldn’t he deserve it? I mean… I don’t know…’’Then she looks at you, clearly distraught.‘’Y-you… well you want to know right?’’
>>19256803"I do. Perhaps I may be able to assist in some manner if you can tell me more."
>>19256803"Yes. Maybe I can help in some way if I know more."
>>19256803INH what exactly is spirit healing?
>>19256847A old, old art that has lost some of its meaning over the time. Its a craft used to allow someone to keep htey're mind whole, healing trauma, PTSD etc.
>>19256854In other words its counselling...Parasites are the same, whether in this world or the other.
>>19256882Councelling exists primarily to help people, what's parasitic about it?If you mean that it takes money from those who need help, then you could say the same thing about the entire medical profession, the law firms, consultancies etc etc.
"Yes. Maybe I can help in some way if I know more."‘’I-I see…’’The queen fidget, damn you really can’t help yourself, she’s… Well there are various words for that. ‘’Rhy, if you wish me to leave…’’The regent offer, her tone softened and when you look at her, she look away.‘’N-no its okay, it just, it happened 5 years ago a-after… well a-after *that* happened…’’She put a hand on her wounded eyes; no doubt the other one is touching her leg.‘’I wasn’t really… well she’s been helping me with the dreams, but slowly s-she started… well giving advice, ones that were different from Ran…’’Hmm, the room fall silent as you ponder, she went over a lot of detail that’s to be sure. >>19256899>>19256882Not exactly counseling since there is actual magic at work, for exemple most army tend to have one in them and they spend they're time curing the various trauma of the soldiers effectively, meaning that incidents due to PTSD and others joyous things are low.
>>19256945Do we know if the forces under amy have some in their employ? We might be able to get one attached here as a replacement to help.Question further on what kind of 'advice' she had been giving. We might be able to find out what she was trying to do.
>>19256945"What kind of advice, might I ask?"
>>19257013Maybe, you'd have to ask her. Spirit Healing is the only tihng that work on mosnter and humans alike, the reason is simple, but the Church sure as hell won't admit it: both species share a very smilar mind.
‘’Those advices…’’You start, but the small cat girl nod at you, interrupting you when she claps her hands on the table. ‘’L-like this noble is so… S-shouldn’t stay, this shipment s-should be allowed…That law with the male, I don’t know what I was thinking, now that I think about it B-but…''''Rhy’’The regent interrupt, her voice is soft however.‘’She was trying to cause a rebellion, disunite our realm, we are an absolute monarchy and the crown authority is supreme: you hold the right of death over every single subject here’’The cat look down and her voice say a pitiful ‘’agh…’’>>19257057Yeeeah stopping soon.
>>19257103"Perhap your majesty might look into repelling those laws quickly. Fast action might forestall any further threat of rebellion. Did she keep any close company that we should be looking for to bring in for further questioning?">>19257057We could use the communication paper but it seems like a waste... Whatever happened to the werewolf. We need to contact Tanu asap. Her network might have information on those we seek and she might know a trustworthy spirit healer that she could introduce.
>>19257133Oh yeah the werewolf, Holm. She was wounded, not too bad but enough to be seen by the spider healer, you've exchanging some small greeting earlier, but she went back to Tanu place.
>>19257133Seconding these actions. We must work quickly to not only help stabilize this kingdom, but to conclude a comprehensive mutual security treaty and military alliance.
It might be worth talking to tanu and seeing if she would be willing to work with the queen. Instability is bad for business after all.
"Perhaps your majesty might look into repelling those laws quickly. Fast action might forestall any further threat of rebellion. Did she keep any close company that we should be looking for to bring in for further questioning?"‘’As far as we know, she was working alone, the discovery of the war machine and the missing agents, not exactly certain of the numbers but I won’t fault the Mantis for being unable to speak, was completely new to me. Frankly I suspect to have been charmed, even with all my suspicion.’’The regent quickly answers your question, prompting the small queen to keep silent and stare at her elder.‘’W-well…’’She speak up after a pause.‘’I’ll try to work and revoking those orders, but you know… I already do, but what to do?’’Ran gives a small chuckle, her tail swing back and forth in an amused fashion.‘’How about you let me take care of that? Rhy, there is something else you’d have to do’’Her statement caught your attention, so you keep silent as she continues.‘’After the damage control is done, and the mantis stabilized, I want you to accompany the ambassador Siegfried Shieffer to Ame-no-Uzume domain.’’You frown in surprise, but quickly think: the coming war, this is a very, very obvious move, but the small cat girl blush right up to her forehead and can’t even speak as her mouth hang open.>cont
‘’The fact that I have sent a foreign agent, bodyguard to the ambassador, is nothing short of a diplomatic incident. That Siegfried here present is speaking to us is the best outcome, the fact he is receptive is more than we can ask for, and now he want to help to stabilize our realm, with only providing healing for his agents – no- his companion is a generosity that I have never seen.’’Ran pause, her voice is gentle as she look at the smaller cat, Rhy Rahall is not a child, she’s almost completely grown but it would seem she is to be cursed with a petite body. ‘’Perhaps it will take a week, but the excuse of finalizing and going over the details of the military alliance will be enough for the nobles, I’ll handle them’’There is another silence, one that you break after a few seconds.‘’Rhy Rahall, Queen of the North and Supreme ruler of your domain, I come in the name of Ame-no-Uzume to ask thee of a military alliance between our two domains, for our homes would only be strengthened by such an action’’The small queen shakes slightly but she nod, going ‘’ W-well Y-yes…’’ ‘’No need to be so formal, Siegfried’’ Say the older cat with a chuckle. >Aaaand done. Anything to ask? I'll still hang around
>>19257306For now, my sleep addled brain has only one.Next session, when?
>>19257327Most likely next Saturday, if I pull another two session a week I'll advice on twitter.
>>19257340Good thread man. Also you should link that twitter. In-case someone new is here.
>>19257306Escort quest eh? I hate escort quests, heh. Hopefully Sylphis ends up okay from her wounds but next chance we get, we might want to talk to Hadraniel about trying to recover some of her old memories and recover her power.
Hm seem like I can't access part 19 of the quest, seem like its forever fucked in the archive, good thing I saved those two archive fools links.
>>19257340Sounds good. Just don't leave us hanging like last night. Abit agonising. Is this the end of the current arc and back to Ami's domain?
>>19257362Lets just say that a young, crippled queen with a bunch of VERY loyal mantis will have an escort rivalling the pope. Also all the mantis fawn over the queen so damn hard, its a shame Sieg won't ever see that huh? >>19257358https://twitter.com/#!/TaleOfMonstersAlways forget to do it.
>>19257362Oh most definitely, when we're back home.>>19257377 Foolz actually has all the threads.
>>19257383Sorry about that, damn game sucked me in, nothing is better than having a grand ADVENTURE.As for this arc. Sylphis is alive (wounded, yes), went through her own developpement, one villain revealed, allaince secured, small queen to pawn back home...also the centipede.Eh, there some stuff left to do and if the situation become just right, another major event.
>>19257405Sieg has Sylphis. He doesn't need to see the rest of them fawning over the queen.
>>19257432I'm still so mad we lost Avina and the stone got fooled off of us.
>>19257441And siggy is still extremely trusting.I guess that nature just can't be overridden.
>>19257441I'm just gonna say this: I like tragic stuff, but I want it to be fair, Avina situation is... very unique.Talk to Tsukiyomi, she came back with the stone that was stolen, remember that morning when Sieg woke up feeling like shit, learning of his childhood friend demise?I've got so many bombs ready to drop, there a reason I take week long break beside vidya~
>>19257476Yeah I can tell. When you pulled that Muv-Luv music out. Man, I don't need to remember all those feels during that VN.
>>19257476Don't get me wrong, I get where you're coming from. I'm just holding a grudge because I personally like the kind of monster Avina was and am sad she couldn't be saved. Heh.
>>19257504That VN destroyed me, hell it became a major source of inspiration for most of my characters afterward,>>19257507I love Yukioona too, if I could I'd put all mosnter but a man has only so much creative juice.
>>19257534I've been sitting on the fence with Muv-Luv. I don't want to play a game that will make me dissatisfied in the end... Is it worth playing?
>>19257534MLA made probably made wrecks of everyone who played all the way from extra."Matta Ne~"You capture that mood really well.
>>19257554Yes. That's all I need to say. Yes.
>>19257554You've got to sit down and go through Extra and Unlimited and that's not the cup of tea of everyone, still yo ucould just do Sumika and Meiya route, but I say Tama is a requirement too.But I am very, very easy to satisfy in my reading, what is hard is catching my attention at first so my opinion really isn't all that important, but MLA is one hell of a ride.>>19257556I..I do ? I can'T say I know how t oanswer, I really wasn't expecting my quest to throw MLA vibe at all, like seriously.
>>19257554Yes. Yes, yes and yes.You will be dissatisfied but in a good way.
>>19257569Very well sir. I guess I shall begin to trek of going through those games and I will curse you if you are wrong.>>19257587Yeah, I've heard there's a lot to go through and that's partly why I was hesitant to jump in.
>>19257587Siggy is a marked man, doomed to die in a month. Yet he keeps at it, at the very least just to make whatever is left afterwards a better place for those he cares about. Its a tale of courage and its pulling much of the same strings, for me.
>>19257603Extra and Unlimited offer different tales, and don't expect MLA to be the highest point of literature, I personally can't say what is wrong with it but you'll find plenty who do.Just go into Extra expecting Wacky thing, but yo ucan ahte the Lacross arc all you want.
I wonder how different things would have been if we had used that stone to activate the golem rather than try to save Avina. A lot of interesting what if's in this at times.
>>19257636I put that time limit so the quest will have a clear, defined end but now that I think about it, I really was inspired by that damn VN.
>>19257636Also one of redemption considering that Siggy also was Noble going around killing these very same 'monsters' not that very long ago.>>19257636>yo ucan ahteWhat happen there.
>>19257644Stop using my screenshots, you cock.
>>19257670Have this one then.
>>19257665Lets just say that Siggy past is very, very ugly. And that his mother was inspired by Marimo. As for the Lacross arc, its just boring until the end where the protag give a big speech.>>19257670
>>19257700
>>19257700>Marimo>A man was seen eating with jinguuji-senseiGod damn PTSD...
>>19257700>Lets just say that Siggy past is very, very ugly.Oh boy. I want to find ou...>And that his mother was inspired by Marimo.Nevermind. I don't need to know now.>As for the Lacross arc, its just boring until the end where the protag give a big speech.Oh I know about the Lacross arc. I was talking about that typing.
>>19257735No words or picture, I can't troll like ages does...Maybe I'll try
>>19257735God damn you. Just... Fuck you for reminding me of that.
>>19257746I fucked up the typing, it was supposed to be ''you can hate''. Also I may have taken Marimo has a template, but that is more or less as far as some part of her personalities goes, that's the same with all my character. At least I hope I don't make any clones, that's very bad.
>>19257761The alternative manga actually recently just reached that part too...
>>19257815Two things. One didn't know there was manga. Two do I really want to put myself through that again...
