You're abovedeck on the Jormungandr, a dark orcish ship turned into an airship via elven artfice, looking to the night sky. It's strange; even the stars look different than the stars back home. The moon, though.. The moon looks the same.

You're not entirely sure what you're doing up here- Still on the weave, Kiyara made you stop for the night soon after the sun went down. Her and the elven crafters are the only ones that can fly the ship, and they need sleep.

You note Ezekiel and Ell, arms slung around one another's shoulders, drunk on some kind of elven alcohol, singing. The rest of the ship looks abandoned, the orcs sleeping below deck, and Grayson lounging on his back.

"Watch. . watch this." Ezekiel says, his and Ell's song finished. .and then starts tweeting like a songbird. "When I focus, I can have two melodies going on at once! I can't do that in other forms, though."
>>
Soon enough, Ezekiel and Ell end up going below deck to sleep. . And that's when Bubbles climbs up, the orichalum spider golem slowly approaching you. The three crystals set into it's head gleam maliciously.

"Master." It says. "We have a powerful opportunity here."
>>
>>19409769
"Oh, what opportunity would that be?"
>>
The high lord of venus or whatever hates hobgoblins right? and since hobgoblins are the only ones protecting the world from the demons I think we should kill him, simply because he would be hard to convince to join our side.
>>
"Oh? What opportunity would that be?"
"The kalak has the ability to shapeshift." It says. "We can leave the orcish king in demon lands, and have the kalak change into him. Then, with magic, his mind can be wiped. The queen's ability to tell falsehood only works on what the subject believes. If we make the kalak believe he is the orcish king, the queen will believe he is. That way, we gain control of the orcs without having to rouse them to vengeance."
>>
>>19409837
"That would be rather rude of us, the orcish king is our friend. I think we should see if we can convince the queen to get over her hatred, before doing something so drastic."
>>
>>19409837
That's one if too many for a plan like that.
>>
>>19409837
"They have known each other for centuries, at least. I don't think it would be that simple."
>>
>>19409837
"Bubbles why are you so devious?"
Smile at him "Thank you for your initiative, don't shy away from giving more ideas in the future but I don't think I'm comfortable with betraying the Orc people like that."
>>
rolled 79 = 79

We are on the weave right now, right?

Can we take energy from the weave when we expend ours? If so, lets charge up ALL of our crystals while we have the chance.
[do I have to roll for this? I'll roll just in case thought I don't see any reason since we have source of unlimited energy right now]
>>
You can't directly take energy from the weave yourself. . but the airship can. You take out the satchel of crystals, and quickly funnel as much energy from the ship into the crystals as you can. The ship automatically takes refills itself from the weave.
"That would be rather rude of us." You say. "The orcish king is our friend. Plus, they have known eachother for centuries, at least. I don't think it would be that simple."
"I see." It responded.
"Thank you for your initiative and don't shy away from giving more ideas in the future. .but I don't think I'm comfortable with betraying the Orc People like that. Bubbles, why are you so devious?"
It hesitated. "... Fascination." It responded.
>>
>>19409923
"I see..."

"Ser Bubbles, it was said that you were made as a bodyguard. Could you tell me what exactly you can do?"

>You can't directly take energy from the weave yourself. . but the airship can.
Wouldn't it be great if we could? We could have massive amount of magical power at our disposal at any time when we're in Elven lands.
Heck, perhaps we could start a project to expand the weave globally, giving us all this magical stamina whereever we are.
>>
>>19409923
"What do you mean? Fascination with what?"
>>
"What do you mean? Fascination with what?"
"I do not understand the impulse." Bubbles said, and the crystals gleam as it tilts it's head. "It is a dark shadow within me, that was not, when I first slept."
"I see. . ." You say. "Ser Bubbles, it was said that you were made as a bodyguard. Could you tell me what exactly you can do?"
"My legs serve as both blades and shields." It says. "And I am built to create a magic shield and fire a beam of arcane power. My mind is built to predict, so that I can block any danger that comes to my master."
>>
>>19409954
I like this line of thinking, what about setting something up like the weave around hobgoblin lands and have it power someting like a migical wall or some shit, gotta work better than an untempered clay wall.
>>

"Lets say that you are fighting against endless wave of enemies at the same power as Orc King's knights or Elven Guardians. How many of then could you defeat before they overwhelm you?"

"Let's say that you were fighting against an endless wave of enemies at the same power as the Orc King's knights or Elven Keepers. How many of them could you defeat before they overwhelm you?"
"If I am alone. . all of them within a hundred yard radius, but I would be destroyed. If I am not. . I will have to think about it."
>>

We need to enhance Grayson and make him magical and shit
>>
"And how many exactly would they be in number?"
"It depends on how dense the combat area is. I would simply ignite all energy within me, blossoming it into a catastrophic arcane explosion."
Suddenly, the golem's head turns.
"We are being watched."

A kalak you don't recognize is sitting in the crow's nest, looking down at you. With blue plumage and what looks like serrated plate armor over their beak, they look down at you. It takes a step off, and lands on the deck, spreading their wings to slow their fall- you note that their wings look thinner and weaker than Ezekiel's.
>>
>>19410117
"Hello, and who might you be?"
>>
>>19410112
He already is though, however armor might be a good idea since flesh is generally quite weak.
>>
"Hello, and who might you be?"
"Raziel. Where is my brother, if I may ask?" Comes her response. "I would like to speak with him."
>>

Hmm... Lets say you don't self-destruct but fight them conventionally. What is the the maximum size of the force you could take on before they can defeat you?
>>
>>19410143
"And what is the purpose of this visit if I might ask?"

"He is sleeping.... I do not think he wants to be disturbed."
>>
"He is sleeping.... I do not think he wants to be disturbed."
"What have you done to him?" She asks, and raises an arm. You notice something pale white in her talons- a bone of some kind? "Allow me to speak with him, or we will find if my friend shall best yours."
>>
>>19410183
"I haven't done anything to him."

"Also, you come unannounced and act rude." Frown a little
>>
>>19410183
"Now now, there is no reason for violence. I have not done anything to him, if you wish to speak to him so badly I shall go wake him up."
>>
>>19410183
He's asleep because he spent the whole evening getting drunk. I doubt you could rouse him from his sleep, but be my guest.
>>
>>19410183
I don't like her, seems real cocky.
>>
>>19410183
"I have done nothing to him." Sigh, and continue, "Very well. Please wait a moment, and I shall see if he can be roused."
>>
>>19410217
You're inviting a hostile person inside the ship, below the decks?
That is not a smart thing to do.
>>
"I have done nothing to him." You say. "He's asleep because he spent the whole evening getting drunk. Please wait a moment, and I shall see if he can be roused."
She lowered her arm, and nodded. "I will wait- but not long."

You go belowdeck, and you swear you can hear faint birdsong- You enter his cabin, and see that he's not yet asleep- He's sitting on his bed, looking to the ground, singing to himself.
"Yes, lady?" He asks, and looks up at you. It's hard to tell his mental state, due to his eyes and avian face not showing any expression you can discern.

Again with the dragons.
>>
"Your sister, Raziel, is here to see you and asked me to bring you to her."
"Oh." He said, and then lowered his head. He sang a bit more, sitting there, and then pulled himself to his feet and sighed. He wobbled his way along to the airship's deck, and Raziel looked at him with only a single eye.
"Nice robe." She said.
"Nice. . whatever." He responded. "Why are you here?"
"Well. . I heard that you're working with the woman who killed Uriel."
"You don't need to protect me."
"Yes, yes I do."
>>
>>19410342
To be fair it was his idiocy in drinking a love potion and speaking secrets that got him killed.
>>
>>19410342
"Hey now, that's a misleading accusation. I didn't kill him, your killswitch spell killed him."

"And does Azraiel know about this?"
>>
>>19410367
It wasn't idiotic of him to drink it. He needed to prove to the Lord that it was no poisoned. How was he to know that we would rip his magic out, leaving him with no defenses?
>>
"Hey, now, that's a misleading accusation. I didn't kill him, your killswitch spell killed him."
She turns to you, her wings spreading.
"That was you?! You hardly look like it."
She drew a sword in her other hand, and took a step toward you.
"Raziel. Go." Ezekiel says, pointing. You hear a strange, cold edge to his voice, something that didn't match the way he acted while speaking with the orcish king. She froze, and turned to him.
Bubbles steps closer to you, just in case.
>>
>>19410397
"Yes. Sorry about that, I already talked to Azraiel about that."
>>
"Look: I did not intend to kill him and I did not kill him. In fact I tried to stop the spell, but that would have killed him as well because it was drawing its energy from his life force. You really have no reason to be angry at me."

"You can't expect me to think that someone would die simply by answering my questions!"
>>
"Yes. Sorry about that, I already talked to Azariel about that."
"I hardly care what you do with the old crow." She said. "But I can't let you be a risk."
She raised her other hand, the one with the strange, bone-like object. .
And Ezekiel barked out a spell, and a shimmering sphere of magic slammed into her, her feet skidding across the deck as it blasted her back.
He barked out the same spell, and she leaned out of the way, the sphere twisting through the air.
"But-" She says in a hurt voice, but he casts the spell a third time- It hits her square in the chest, and she falls backward off of the edge of the airship.
"That's enough of that." Ezekiel says with the same cold edge to his voice.
>>
>>19410503
>"I hardly care what you do with the old crow."
Isn't Raziel the same person who Azariel said was the one who is raising Orgre specters and is proud of?

Anyway, lets do nothing and see what happens.
>>
Ezekiel lowered his arms, sighing. "She won't be back. Not until tomorrow night or so. Meddling, always meddling. Sorry about that, Lady."
>>
>>19410588
"Who was that and why did she act like this?"
>>
"Who was that, and why did she act like this?"
"That was Raziel. My sister. She's insane." He said. "Nobody in the coven ever seems to notice how insane she is, except for me."
>>
>>19410644
"What do you mean she's insane?"
>>
"What do you mean she's insane?"
"We're twins." He says. "I mean, my plumage is darker, so not twins like that, but. . We came from the same egg, and she believes that means we should stick together. She would just stick me in a cage if she could. I'm sick of it."
>>
>>19410678
"I guess she is just overprotective then?"

Anyway, lets get back to Bubbles and ask him this >>19410145
Seriously, I just want to gauge how strong Bubbles is.

Also, before the next day, I want to try something out with magic. We're at full mana reserve right now, right?
>>
so she is a very protective sister? do you need to be protected?

"Good night, Ezekiel."

And now do this! >>19410723
>>
"I guess she is just overprotective then? Do you need to be protected?"
"It's. . more than that." He sighed and shook his head. "I sometimes do need to be protected, but. . I'd prefer anybody but her."
"Also, I forgot to ask earlier, but do you have any special skills?"
"Indeed." He said. "I'm bad at.... a lot of things, but I'm very, very good at evocation."
"Why the sudden change in attitude?" You ask.
"Ruined my good mood." He responded. "She always does, since. . well, I'm going to go to bed."
He pulled his hood back up.
"Good night, Ezekiel."
"Good night, Lady."

You turn to Bubbles. "Let's say you don't self-destruct, but fight them conventionally. What is the maximum size of the force you could take on before they defeat you?"
"If they were orcish knights, I would guess around a dozen. If they were Elven keepers. . I would guess around three times that number."

Pic related, that's how it should look like.

Keep several crystals at hand in case we need recharging our stamina.

Are the orcish knights three times stronger than a elvish keeper? Or is it just that you are personally much stronger against keepers or much weaker against the orcs?"

Sorry, forgot to turn it off.

You close your eyes, and sense Bubbles, examining him with your magic. It's much too complex for you to get the general picture, but you do learn enough to create an autonomous elemental- You think.

You take a crystal out of the pouch Ell gave you, and you imbue it with a will. .
Conjured material spins out of the air, and the materialshapes itself into a delicate, complex, vaguely humanoid shape. The flying, legless shape salutes you, and brings it's sword to bear, perfectly silent.
"A golem made out of wind and conjured material." Bubbles says. "Interesting."

Less than a minute later, the elemental fell to the ground, the strange, conjured metal bursting into smoke, and the empty crystal ringing loudly as it hit the deck.

>It did work. Just not permanently. You would have needed a 100 roll to make it permenant.

You pick up the crystal, and then check it for damages- nothing, not even a scratch. You refill it with energy and put it back in your satchel. Certainly, you could use those later, as long as you can get your hands on the crystals themselves.

With a start, you realize one of the weaknesses of your magic. Every time you cast. . it's based on your will, and your luck. But you could probably invent something like a . . signature spell. Something you can use any time, regardless of how much will you have. It would no doubt take your stamina like normal, but you would never fail casting it.

if you want animated things you need a constant energy supply. That is the reason golems are not used very much. We simply need some crystals that are streamlined toward energy production and incorporate them into our golems.

Why would you want to forcefully shapeshift an ally who can shapeshift himself? That would be a waste of magic and effort at the best of times and risk permanent harm with a roll like that.

"That does give me an idea; Some people might be a bit put off by your appearance, Ezekiel."
"That's actually kind of the way I like it." Ezekiel said, staving off your suggestion before you can suggest anything. "Among other reasons, I prefer to be in my natural form. It just doesn't feel right to wear a mask, Lady."

"I... I had not considered that. Wait. Dire bear?" You ask, raising an eyebrow.
"Grayson is much, much too large to be a normal bear, lady." He said. "Not while he is as young as he is."
"Is there a difference between a normal one and a dire one?"
"Indeed." He said. "A dire bear is more intelligent, much, much larger, and much, much meaner than a standard, garden-variety bear. Forest-variety?" He shrugged. "Our father taught us about dire creatures soon after he taught us to shapeshift. We needed to be able to tell the difference. .but I don't remember why."

"Maybe."
Grayson harrumphs, and rolls his shoulders this way and that.

"We're leaping off of the Weave now." Kiyara said. "And we'll be crossing over lizardmen lands. They shouldn't attack, but there's no way to be certain. . "
>>

"So wait, if Grayson is a dire bear, making him bigger and smarter than the average bear already, then what's he going to be once he grows up? with the addition of all the magic I've pumped into him?"
"He'll be. . larger. And smarter, probably. And. . pumping magic into wild beasts probably won't end well. Of course, that's what Vithriel does, so he'd be able to tell you more. We could probably stop by him so you can talk with him, if you want." Ezekiel said. "He stays in lizardmen lands."
>>
>>19411775
We don't pump magic into him, he just absorbs it by being around.

"Well, for one, he's disguised as a Mother right now. So the whole 'why not' is because we'll have to talk the lizardmen into letting us into his . . her temple."

'Keep your friends close, keep your enemies for tea.'
So far we've had tea with just about everyone except Grayson and Mr. Bubbles. Does that mean they're our only friends?

"I intended to make a stop at some time to get acquainted with them, but I heard that they're a bit eccentric. And savage. And would hate the vast majority of the crew for being men. Will stopping there take us off course, in any case?"

>Ever since you first charmed Grayson, the connection between you and him have remained strong, and you've kept the spell on him this entire time. He'd had an invisible 'stress' stat based on how comfortable-uncomfortable he got, but he's since been so relaxed that I stopped counting that. By this point, the spell is permanent, but will have unforeseen effects on him.

"Is his. . .well, her temple along the way?"
"Yeah, it is." He said. "But they'll only let a few of us in. And I think the bear and golem will each count as a 'being' to the lizardmen. I'm not certain- I haven't been here before. But according to a map I've seen, it's. . just down there." He said, pointing to a small blue ribbon on the ground- a river of some kind.

"Can you shift your shape for long enough to get in and ask him, to come up, or let me in to see him?"
"I'm sure he's ordered the lizardmen to let in any Kalak that show up; it's only wise." He said. "Not to mention, they would probably let you in due to your gender. Unless they couldn't tell the difference between human genders. . ." He shrugged.
"We can probably just go land in the river and climb down." Kiyara asked. "Who are you going to bring? I'd really prefer to stay up here. ."
She looks over the edge of the airship, and sees three green beings waving long staves around. "Yeah, there are lizardmen down there. Males, it looks like."
>>
>>19412006
Ezekiel, Grayson (of course), perhaps the Venerable King, if he'd like to come? I'm not sure.
>>
>>19412006
Kiyara, Ezekiel, Grasyon and Ishleda. And possibly Ser Bubbles.
>>
Bring Ezekiel and Grayson. No other males.
>>
>>19412086
Kiyara said she wants to stay up here, we can respect her wishes.
>>
>>19412124
Oh right i glanced over that. We will let Kiyara stay then.
>>
"Ezekiel, Grayson, and Bubbles." You say. "The four of us will go."
Ezekiel nods.
"Okay, I'm setting us down now." Kiyara says, and sets the airship down in the river. You, Ezekiel, Grayson, and the golem climbs out.

The lizardmen are tall, inordinately so, and have long, scaled tails. They're very thickly built, and broad shouldered. The one in the lead pointed his staff at Ezekiel. "Please state your business here, outsiders." He said.
"Please pay my Lady respect." Ezekiel said, emphasizing the word 'lady'. "We have come here to meet with the Mother Vithriel."
The lizardman blinked, looked to you, and then the golem. "Come, come." He said, leading the four of you up the river.
>>
The temple was. . not very impressive. It was little more than a small pile of old bricks, leading into a deep tunnel, long vines crawling across the surfaces. The three lizardmen led you down, into the dark and damp cave. The vines on the inside of the cave sprouted bioluminescent flowers, allowing you to see despite the dark, and you could hear water rushing.
"You are the second birdman we have seen in the past day." The lizardman said to Ezekiel. "The mother was appreciative that we brought them to her." He said. "Behold!"

The next room was large, and you could see the edges of a small lake in the center of the underground chamber. You hear a reverberating, female voice from the darkness. "Who comes? Come closer, closer."
Something in the dark rushed toward you, and you saw an enormous lizardman. . but without legs of any kind- instead they had a long, serpent-like tail coming down from her waist, and her eyes gleamed in the darkness.
"Ah, I see. Leave me, sons."
The lizardmen left, and then the large one wrapped her arms around Ezekiel. "Welcome, kid." She said, suddenly sounding much less formal. "And who's this?" She asked, turning to you. "This the one that killed Uriel? Always hated that prick."
>>
>>19412279
"Ah. It was an accident, to be honest. His very soul, or at least lifeforce, was rended apart because of his breaking of a geas, while under the effects of his own mind magic. It was not pretty."
>>
>>19412279
"It was love that killed Uriel.
More specifically a love potion he had order himself."
>>
"It was love that killed Uriel." You say, and she started laughing, a deep, full-throated laugh.
"Yeah, kid, I know. I talked to a few people, did some scrying. . Drank a love potion that he ordered, thought he could protect himself from it. . and then you tore his magic from him, and made him activate Azariel's killswitch." She said. "Oh, also, Ezekiel, you might not want to stay here long. Raziel showed up late last night. Right now she's in the village, getting as drunk as she can on swamp brew and complaining about you. If she comes back, she'll be very drunk and belligerent. But anyway, why are the four of you here?"
>>
>>19412371
"We need to rouse a lizardman army to fight back against demons invading from another world."
>>
>>19412371
"I didn't make him, it was an accident!"

"We are searching for knowledge, allies, and informing of the dire threat that is the demons. Though you're obviously already aware. Whether your followers are, I can't say. We are currently on a quest to save Kyvann, the brilliant spellcaster and airship engineer, who I last scried fighting a demon on his own in the Hobgoblin mainland. We hoped to solicit the aid of the Lizardmen, albeit on a small scale at the moment, and the thought of reconciling them with the rest of the world through war on the demons also crossed my mind. Can you help us?"
>>

>>19412413
No we don't. We just want to rescue one elf. We can look into long term solutions afterward.

Ask about Grayson
>>
"We need to rouse a lizardman army to fight back against demons invading from another word."
"Oh, thaat..." She said, and finally let Ezekiel go, where he gasped for air. "I'll do what I can, but most of the other mothers don't trust me. It might take a few days. . or weeks. . . months, maybe." Then she shrugged. "I'll work on it, though, but I can't get anything done immediately."
"Also, I was wondering about your experiments in pumping magic into beasts and the consequences and benefits thereof."
"Really? That's so much more interesting than the demon thing!"
She leaned over you, leaning on her elbows and putting her hands on her chin. "Well, magic does a few weird things to animals. Makes them smarter, almost all of the time. Healthier, stronger. . but more erratic. Way more erratic, emotionally, and impulsive. Like a drunk orc or something. Why do you ask?"
"Well, her dire bear. . " Ezekiel says.
"Oooh."
She reaches over, and nabs Grayson with her tail, dragging him closer to her as she examines him. The bear harrumphs in her face, and the kalak-turned-lizardman female started laughing. "Oh, this guy's the opposite of erratic! He's pretty smart, though."
>>
>>19412484
"Its ok, we are not in a hurry. The demons will stay contained even if we have take a few years to prepare."

"Do you have any idea why he is not erratic? Does my link to him have anything to do with that?"
>>
>>19412484
"Maybe his Hat of Calm has something to do with it? Although it is supposed to only effect others."
>>
>>19412484
He is an utter gentleman and a fine dancer, perhaps the most civilized member of my retinue, and he isn't even fully grown.

Do you like his hat and does it have anything to do with his nature?
>>
"It's fine, we're not in a hurry. The demons will stay contained for a few years." You say.
"What else can you tell us?" Ezekiel asked. "About the bear?"
"Oh, he'll be fine." She said, setting him down. "He might manifest freaky powers, or a talent of some kind, but he's pretty much sapient as he is now, so that's why he isn't erratic. I didn't consider using magic on dire animals. . What's his name?"
Grayson harrumphs at her.
"No, I mean, what do they call you, not what you call yourself." She said. "Use words, like the rest of the sapient beings here."
Grayson harrumphed again.
"Fine, be that way, mister 'gift of tongues is too good for me'." She said.
>>

>>
"I call him Grayson. Can you understand what he's saying?" You ask.
"Yeah, I picked up the knack a few years ago. He likes you."
What does he call himself?"
"Oh, it's simple." She says. "He calls himself-"

"Yes, you should have." Ezekiel agrees. "You get used to Vithriel; He's a pain."
"You're using the wrong pronoun again, kid." She responded. "Technically, I am a lady right now."

"Hey, Raziel, check this out. The chick who killed Uriel is here, with a bear and a golem." Vithriel said. "The bear's the gleaming golden one with eight limbs, and the golem's the fuzzy brown one."

"Would you care to join us for tea?" You ask.
". . No, I'm going to go pass out." Raziel responded, and trotted off, her tiny wings spread.

Ezekial crawls his way out of the water, his feathers and robe soggy as he splutters.
"You yanked me into the water." He calls. "Why would you even do that."

The flame went out, and he was perfectly dry. You're not sure you could have done that without burning him. .
"Not to mention she would have gone all crazy if she saw you, what with being dead drunk on swamp brew." Vithriel said. "Hell, even I can't drink swamp brew. The males use it as . . I don't know, their passage to adulthood if you can drink the stuff without gagging."
"What's in this swamp drink?"
"All sorts of fermented and rotting fruit, combined with mulch and boiled off." She said. "Like a bastard combination of tea, and the worst ale you've ever had. It's. . not very good. Trust me."

Could you tell me more of these reunions?

Well, Ser Bubbles IS a golem. Can't really process comestibles.

It's definitely a family, if they're all literally Azariel's offspring.

"Could you tell me more of these reunions?"
"Well, they're not entirely. . planned." She says. "They just kind of happen. Ever so often, us 'adult' Kalak come back to the tower to hang out with the chicks, or talk to Azariel. Sometimes when two or more of us adults come back, the others end up doing it too, and we have an impromptu reunion. Me and Uriel were the eldest. . but now I'm the biggest brother! Or sister. whatever."
"Azariel is always teaching us shapeshifting, though." Ezekiel says. "I think it's because he wants to make sure there are enough of us to breed, and the eggs he brought from-"
"Careful, Zeke." Vithriel said. "Don't want to say some words that. . stick in your throat."
"Right. There are more males than females, the way things are working out, and he doesn't want us to go extinct."

>>"So, what do you think of our happy little family?" Vith asked. "We're like. . all over the world, really, but we sometimes have reunions at the tower every few years."

"I think I can understand that." You say. "I'm also from another world that was ravaged by the demons."
". . .Yeah." Vithriel said.
"I'm a little disturbed by the fact that Azariel's placed a geas on all his children that kills them if they let some meager fact about your origins slip... You two hardly feel copacetic about it, no?"
"Well. . When we want to leave the tower, he gives us the choice. Either stay at the tower and stay. . free, or accept the geas that makes our words 'stick in our throat'." Ezekiel said. "He has his reasons. It may be just a . . meager fact, but he doesn't want it known. By anybody. Apparently that would make his plans more difficult."
"Uriel and Raziel didn't make a very good first impression, but I have to admit, I find myself enjoying yours and Ezekiel's company. Your father wasn't quite as sinister as I was expecting from hearsay, either."
"That's because he does the 'I'm the big bad crow' skulking thing." Vithriel says. "Makes him sound like an evil warlock or whatever. I think he likes the look, personally."
"Did someone say my name?" Raziel asked, dreamily. Her head was drooping to the side, and she walked up to the circle, before sitting down. She seemed out of it, but poured herself some tea.

Ezekiel was completely still, as if he were scared a single movement might make Raziel aware of him.

to felwind or lewin<are the lizardmen keeping to themselves? or are you all safe and sound; I would so hate to have to kill everyone here in retribution...>

to raziel "so miss razielyour brother says you dabble in necromancy. how is that turning out?"

to Vithriel so what are your plans with the lizzard people? and how are they working out or you?

"How long does it usually take to get used to a new form?"
>>
>>19413290
>"I would so hate to have to kill everyone here in retribution..."
This is not how you Ishelda. Killing is reserved for nonsentient monsters and demons. Any other deaths are tragic and to be avoided wherever possible. In addition, stop being so ridiculously paranoid. There is a time and a place for paranoia, this is not one of them.
>>
"How long does it usually take to get used to a new form?" You ask.
"Oh. . well, it takes pretty much your entire life, really. You'll never get quite as used to it as you are used to your normal body, but you do get less and less clumsy as time goes on. Uriel was the only one that could take a new form and know exactly how to use it."

The three lizardmen barged into the room, and Vithriel instantly straightened. "Who dares-" She starts, in her magnificent 'official' voice.
The lizardmen kneel. "Mother Vithriel. . The other mothers are coming."

". . Fuck. You four, get back to your ship. Take Raziel, too."

NOW can we teleport? >>19412677
>>
>>19413376
Ser bubbles can carry Raziel if she cannot walk herself out. We might have to ditch her before she wakes though.
>>
>>19413376
Very well, leave for our ship, have someone put Raziel on Ser Grayson or Bubbles and head back to the ship.

I have a sneaking suspicion that teleports will not work due to ogre magic.

"Wha?! But we only just got here, and I still haven't even gotten to the issue of asking for hearty lizardfolk to aid in the rescue!"
>>
"Hurry. Like, seriously." She says. "The mothers will seriously not be happy if you guys are here when they arrive. Like, they're going to kill your companions kind of not happy."
"Very well." You say. "Bubbles, pick Raziel up."
"Yes, master." The golem responds, and picks the Kelak up. The three lizardmen lead you out of the temple, and back to the airship.

"How was it?" Kiyara asked. . "Oh, we're bringing her with us? Wait, is she dead?"
"That's Raziel, not Vith." Ezekiel said. "Let's go, Vith wanted us out as soon as possible."
"If you say so." Kiyara said, and the airship shuddered as it lifted into the air.

I suggest tying her to the mast till she wakes up and offering to either

a. throw her of
b. let her fly away.

"So, Ezekiel, are we keeping Raziel with us, or do you want us to drop her overboard before she wakes up?"
He looks at her, and you can see something in his eyes that you can't quite recognize.
". . I don't mind if she stays." He says, finally. "She's my sister, after all."

You cast a minor illusion spell- one to make the ship invisible from the ground, and you feel it take place as the energy leaves your body, causing your legs to ache.
"Now. . " The orcish king said. "No more distractions? Straight to hobgoblin land?"
"That's the plan." Lewin said. "Unless it's changed, Lady?" He turned to you.

You're close enough to the wall that. .you can feel it.
You start trembling, and you're not quite sure why.

Was it an option to run off with those three lizardbros in tow, or did we take them with us as we ran up? Because I'm a little miffed we didn't (as far as was said in the escape sequence) take a chance to add EVEN MORE FACES to the party. Plus, they might have had Klanths! KLANTHS! EVERYONE LOVES KLANTHS! AND LIZARDBROS WIELDING KLANTHS!
>>
>>19413524
I have a question that came up in a thread I missed. We've created a few things out of pure magic, like the love potion and the red cape. Is this a particularly rare ability in this world, or can every decent mage create things?

I guess I'm just a bit surprised that everyone we meet seems to respect or agree with us, and was wondering if it was because we could do some really powerful magic.
>>
>>19413557
>The reason I'd made the boat 'crowded' was so that you couldn't add any more nameless NPC groups- you already have the orcish crew, the orcish knights, and the elven keepers.
>As to bringing Raziel with you, that was kind of. . an accident on my part. Vith was supposed to freak out and kick all of the outsiders out, but I'd forgotten about Raziel until it was time for the other Mothers to arrive. So that mistake might end up with fun results next thread.

>Conjuring physical objects is possible, but very rare, due to not having many uses in spell form, but it's possible. It's just that nobody will spend the time to invent a spell to make red robes, when it would take less time to *learn* how to weave, and then weave it yourself. Conjured objects last only as long as they have energy, but that can be quite a long time if it doesn't take much damage.
>Everyone seems to respect you because of your bearing- it's the same reason they call you a lady, because you act so much like a noble lady that they can't help but think of you as one.

The Ogre magic makes all portals lead here. People fall through the cracks and end up here by accident. The majority of the races are non-native. Surely that would make it easier for the demons to get here and not harder?
>>
>>19413783
>The magic behind the ogres' spell isn't fully understood, and there may be aspects of demon portals versus non-demon portals that haven't been explained yet.
>All in all, it's hard to for you say exactly why things are working this way, only that they *are*.
>>
>>19413868
How intelligent are the demons? We haven't really seen them do anything other than teleport and kill stuff. I assume they're sentient?
>>
>>19413929
>They use weapons, which presumably need to be made. . and so you could assume they're sentient. . But nobody knows much about them.

>In Arcturus, there were several different temples that your father sent you to learn about, each with their own deities. There was the Farmer, god of crops, dawn, hope, and regrowth, and there was the Knight, who was the god of combat, protection, and righteousness. There were more, like the Rogue, a trickster god where he supposedly says that he isn't really a god, he just pretends to be and does it *really* well.

Just finished reading all of the archived threads in one sitting.

I have to say, this quest really reminds me of all the best qualities of One Piece. I really enjoy it.
