TG QUEST!

Last Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/19401786/

Day: 2
Current Objectives: Restore Ah My Goddess world to natural state, remove SUE infestation, repair damage to space-time. 2/6 SUEs neutralized.

Fleet Location: Main force hiding behind the moon. Indefatigable and Al'Keshes running operations planetside. Oncoming Storm in extreme orbit for sensor support.

Inventory: http://pastebin.com/HGsJUZZb
Descriptions: http://pastebin.com/UpKiRZnh
>>
Good Evening MetaOp. A few of us are in IRC already.
>>
When last we left everybody, there was a vicious melee erupting on the Nekomi Tech campus. Two SUEs working in unison managed to severely damage one of your Al'Keshes, the Indefatigable was destroyed by an ill-advised photon torpedo switcharoo that backfired, and your Meta-Comm Array intercepted and decoded a report from an unknown party on the chaos below. If that weren't bad enough, Ahriman and a retinue of Thousand Sons emerged from the portals below, apparently waiting for something.
>>
>>19447851
Plan:
Mention that our reality emitters are anti-chaos magic
Point out that we're the good dudes since we're also fighting chaos
Mention that maybe the reality emitters slow down TC, Rei and Brett because said people are using Chaos powers.
See if Lind is SUE-influenced, talk to Lind.
Our Stasis tanks from the Inde look very similar to healing pods - try to trick any SUEs into the stasis pods that we can.
Also, attempt to trick any SUEs possible to the time-bubble on the moon.

Plan: Still not sure what to do with Ahriman, but if any SUEs get injured by confronting him, we can offer the 'healings' (stasises).
>>
Okay, first order of business is to pull back the damaged Al'Kesh. Don't make it obvious the ground troops are allies of it.

Secondly, continue dealing with getting people to safety and spraying the Chaos forces with artillery and bolter fire and all sorts of whatever we've got on the ground.

Can we get another cloaked Al'Kesh or two nearby to help keep the Reality Emitter field on the SUEs? Put buildings between them and the SUEs if at all possible.

Try and direct some fire on those portals. We don't need gribblies coming out of them any more... A possible objective is to try and take this Ahriman alive. We don't know if he's the one we encountered in Middle Earth or not.. We gotta check.
>>
>>19447902
Do we know where the communication was coming from?
If it's from Ahriman, oh shit.

Anyway, we need to evac any Canon-important civilians out of the area, if they aren't already evac'd.
>>
>>19447923
Second
>>
>>19447923

An attack on the portals will pretty much be an attack on the Thousand Sons nearby. Proceed?

The damaged Al'Kesh wobbles off, and two more of the cloaked ships in the area take position behind two of the campus buildings in its place.

You don't know where the communication was coming from exactly, only that it was in the vicinity of the campus battleground.

>>19447915

Who is talking to Lind? Who are you telling about the reality emitters?
>>
>>19448082
Cancel that attack on the portals. We do not yet know if they're hostile.

Vitun should watch Lind's back and help her. We will mention the "Gellar field emitter" to Lind after the battle to pass as a message to Skuld.
>>
Where are those two Knights who just slapped the shit out of our ship? Are they out of the line of fire?
>>
>>19448082
>>19448110
I'd say hang back and wait, don't directly attack anything yet.
Might be a good idea to have Virtun covering Lind. Hope we don't get two 1s and he dies.

>>19448131
Busily arguing with Brett, last I heard.
>>
>>19448110
Yeah, cancel attack on the portals.

+1 to all of that post. Anything that's not near the portals is fair game, though.

Burn daemon remnants if possible.

..Has Ryu noticed an upswing in those error bug things he's been working on; out of curiosity? Or any roving bands of Chaos not here at the portals we're facing now?
>>
>>19448082
Negative on that.
Also scan Lind and Ahriman for reality distortions.
>>
Would it be worth offering any teleport-locking equipment to the SUEs who are about to head into combat, so that we may "Teleport them out if they get too injured"?
Read: Teleport them into stasis and/or the moon time bubble.

We'd need to send someone to actually talk to the bastards, though. Not sure who that would be. VP-99's got the User-friendly protocols trait, doesn't it?
>>
New email sent to MetaOp.

*wink*
>>
>>19448158
Both are clean.

>>19448131
They withdrew a bit from the Chaos lines to attack your ship. It looks like Chaos is about to bring the fight to them, however. They are advancing on the two SUEs.

Brett has returned to his offensive, however, cutting into a detachment of Chaos marines that split off to engage him as the rest continue to the other two SUEs.
>>
Hm... is there any way for us to talk to Ahriman without anyone noticing?
>>
>>19448220
Maybe... teleport some kind of communications device to his location?
>>
MetaOp. While we're here, could we scan England. I want to see if we can find Excalibur. According to the movie, the fairy was Morgan Le Fay. Therefore, this universe had a King Arthur.

I'd like to find the Lady of the Lake and see if she'd be willing to loan us Excalibur.
>>
>>19448159

Someone suggested earlier that we should scan and see if we can locate any other canon-important characters within the campus vicinity and see if we can't get them far away from the fighting. If they're still there, the Chaos troops may opt to search for them in order to try for another sacrifice.

I'm not entirely sure if we should speak to Ahriman, though. If he's half as smart as he seems, he probably knows that we're already on the field, if not already observing the conflict. He owes us nothing, and there is no guarantee that he will be as peaceable in the past as he is now.
>>
>>19448206
Any report from our second squad of drones that was investigating the portals that opened in the wilderness of Nekomi City?

Also, the Zombie Hunters and the Dystopia Troops are currently equipped with armor and equipment that makes them look like SWAT and US Army soldiers; shouldn't we give them Tokyo MPD and JSDF 10th Mountain Division emblems and have them stay out of the main fighting as they search the campus for that transpace transmitter.
>>
>>19448206
We got anyone in place to POTENTIALLY talk to Ahriman, TC, Rei, Brett, and Lind?
Not planning on saying anything specific. Just wondering if we've got anyone present for potential talking.

>>19448236
Worth doing this, I think. But use a DIFFERENT model for TC/Rei/Lind/Brett than for Ahriman.
Hell, we're already deploying baneblades. We could pass off as a defense force.

Throw some 2-way radios at the SUEs. Shouldn't be any downside to that, should there?
That gets us one step closer to bullshitting our way to victory.
>>
>>19448283
True but to be frank, he terrifies me.
I would say that avoiding confrontation with him is a very high priority, because I can't see any way to fight him without sustaining heavy casualties.
>>
rolled 4 = 4

>>19448288
Nothing yet.

You begin scanning and searching for any important characters, scanning England next.

>>
>>19448399
Yep. We're ALWAYS on topic.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsB3IfttE50
>>
>>19448311
Vitun seems good for Lind.
The Knights Inductor are good to talk to both Ahriman and Brett, although we should probably do some modifications to their armor for Brett.
>>
rolled 36 = 36

>>19448394
Wonder what we would've gotten if we had rolled twice.
>>
>>19448388

We can assume that Ahriman is here to either observe something in real-time or capture something for later study. If the Chaos forces here are under his command, then that complicates things. They tried to purposefully sacrifice a canon character, knowing that it would break a lot of shit as far as stability in this canon goes; they're either trying to expand Chaos' reach into Transspace Guard space by breaking canon irreparably and turning this place into an outpost for Chaos (or trying to do something horrible to the already devastated Yggdrasil system), or they're trying to get the Transspace Guard's attention.
>>
>>19448394
So what you're saying is every named character is dead?
>>
>>19448394
As the fighting continues, your troops conclude that all civilians have been successfully evacuated. You begin scanning England. Shortly after you do so, your Meta Comm Array intercepts another transmission, but this one is encrypted beyond your ability to decipher.
>>
>>19448441
Except the ones that can teleport to our ship.

For all we know, ANON just downloaded some English pop-up for Tea and Crumpets with the queen at 9bong or someshit, and now it's out of commission for a day due to spyware.
>>
>>19448445
Is it possible to somehow save the transmission and have it be decoded at a later date?
>>
>>19448445
Which direction did that thing come from?
I wanna trace the source of this shit. Who keeps sending us messages?
Is it possible to ping a message back at whoever's sending them?
>>
>>19448435
True, both are bad options.
Hm, it's really a pity that Brett's source fic has been taken down, it could have proven useful.
>>
>>19448497
Ask Ahriman for it.
We can then drag it out through the fourth wall and into the thread.
>>
>>19448488
Intercepts implies that it's not being sent to us.
Which is even more worrisome.
>>
>>19448445

Get Mouse and other techie-type heroes to work on tracing the source of the last message. We've got some extra viper probes and observers lying about; we could deploy them and set up a triangulation network on the campus.
>>
>>19448535
Aren't our entire techie staff disabled by spyw4r3z?
>>
>>19448541
just the rigger.
>>
>>19448445
Hmm.. ANON, store that message in a secure data buffer. We'll work on it later.

Can we get scans and such of the anti-teleportation wards; if there's anything on the grounds for them? If we can identify weak points, maybe a tiny zap from something in orbit or a well-placed missile or something can disrupt the field.

Then we can see about what they'll do without those protections.

Do not directly support the SUEs, but make it clear we're fighting Chaos..

We should try and drop all of them communication devices very sneaky-like. The SUEs get one style, Ahriman gets another, and Lind gets another one in case Vitun can't keep up. AHRIMAN AND LIND GETS DIFFERENT FREQUENCIES THAN THE SUEs! That is, three of them. One for the SUEs, one for Ahriman, and one for Lind. Do Not Confuse Them.

If anyone notices Ahriman got a comm device from us, tell them we're attempting negotiations to get them to leave. Brett will shit razor blades over it, but if it stops them he can live with it.
>>
>>19448545
Makes me wonder why we didn't have Mouse go into the rigger's mind and try to unfuck things.
>>
>>19448541

The Shadowrunners, yes.

But we still got Mouse, Data, and lots of extra staff members on our ship to help out.

Perhaps we should ask the Farseers to scry and attempt to discern what Ahriman's hoping to accomplish here?
>>
>>19448564
Because Elaine already is and we don't want him down next.
>>
>>19448535
After a quick analysis, they conclude it's sent from the same general area as the first, the Nekomi Tech campus.
>>
>>19448555
I don't know, I don't think there's any pressing need to talk to Lind or the Knights until the fighting is done.
Ahriman is the only one not currently engaged in combat, so any discussion should be focused in his direction.
>>
rolled 42, 53, 30 = 125

We have been contracted by you, in the future, to go back in time and steal some dice rolls.
Thank you for your co-operation.
>>
For future recruits, May I recommend Dr. Tommy Oliver?
>>
>>19448628
Red Ranger? Didn't he get killed?
... Wait. ... Oh, I see.

Does Keiichi's sister have any reality distortions coming from her?

>mfw

Really? When would you even loot him. He hasn't died yet in canon.
>>
>>19448639
She was already listed as clean by both scanning and magic. We've got her evacuated via Puma along with the other civilians.
>>
>>19448585
MetaOP, can we have VP-99, VP-98 and HK-50 beam down to the second droid squad and find whatever got released by those secondary portals in the Nekomi City wilderness.

Also, have the damaged Al'Kesh rendezvous with the All Under Heaven, and have a repair Scarab from the Hercules detailed to repair it.

Also, I'm voting to send in the Zombie Hunters and the Dystopia Troops to start searching the campus for whoever is transmitting those transpace messages.

Most of the Chaos forces are either occupied with the SUE's or with the Safe Zone Von Luckners and KI's, so the human troops should be able to move around without a problem.
Have every one of the troops equipped with an emergency transporter armband so that they can request an emergency beam-out from of the remaining 5 Al'Kesh if they get into trouble.
>>
>>19448657
Should we ask her questions?
>>
>>19448738
Like what? We already know that she was pulled out of a crowd specifically, and she really doesn't know anything about what's going on. Besides, we put a subspace transponder on her without her knowing, so we can track her.
>>
rolled 52 = 52

>>19448737

The wards appear to be ethereal in nature after a quick scan. You would need to dispel them.

>>19448555
You deploy your robotic heroes to assist in the search.
>>
>>19448755
Dispel them eh? If we can detect their specific location, we could have our Abjurers cast Greater Dispel Magic on them.
>>
rolled 14 = 14

You will need this roll in future more than you need it now.
>>
>>19448755
After another fifteen minutes, the droids manage to find a trio of footprints leading towards the city. The impressions are extremely faint and seem to have been disrupted by something, making their detection very difficult. The only other information that can be garnered is that the three beings that left the portal were humanoid.

Are you really going to try to drop everyone communications gear? If so, how will you do this?
>>
>>19448812
Heh.
Have one of our ships (Oncoming storm?) jump a light-hour out
and look at the light that left the portal where the footprints came from.
We can look back in time, by travelling through space.
Bulb please. :)

As for dropping comms gear: Can't we just have either Spy or a Zombie hunter hand the radios over?
>>
>>19448812
I'd say have our droid with the "non-threatening" looks bring a communicator to the SUEs.

For Arihman? Have Spy give him a different model of communicator while cloaked.
>>
>>19448812
Nah, just Ahriman since he's just standing around currently.
Lind and the Knights can wait until Chaos is defeated.
I mean Lind didn't have time to talk to Vitun in person and she definitely won't have time to talk on the phone.
>>
>>19448872
If we give anything to Ahriman, make sure it's not tracked by anyone.
We don't want anyone noticing we're talking to Ahriman.
>>
>>19448871
What do we have to say to the SUEs right now?
And aren't they busy not dying?
I mean it's not like people are taking turns to attack or whatever.
>>
>>19448812
Calculate how much time has passed since the portals formed, and send the Oncoming Storm that much light-time away in order to try to get optical scans of the light reflected from whoever came out of those portals. Admiral Pellaeon to be temporarily in command of ground operations while the Command Crew is away.

As for communicators, have VP-98 bring over a Starfleet communicator tied in to specific frequency with a rotating quantum encryption algorithm to Ahriman. He is to be very visible, come out openly, and place the communicator on the ground 100 meters from Ahriman, then skedaddle.
>>
>>19448812

Alert the forces on stakeout at the goddesses' residence that there may be a Chaos entity targeting them/the goddesses. Have one of the probes shadow Megumi and keep scanning around for anomalies. Ask the Farseers if they can scry and discern any strange entities within the city limits that aren't bugs or local spirits.

Should also have Ryu shadow Megumi for added protection?
>>
>>19448908
If we don't want it tracked, we can either attempt to beam the communicator down to where Ahriman can see it, or have a cloaked Hornet attack chopper do a flyby and just drop the communicator on top of him.
>>
>>19448947
Actually that's a good point.
Like I'm pretty sure the reason we haven't used the Farseers yet is because we didn't want Heaven to notice us?
...I'm pretty sure that's not a problem anymore.
So is there any downside to them gleaning some skeins?
>>
>>19449004
Good point. Gleam them Skeins.

Ask them if Ahriman needs to die for this world to be saved, or if we can negotiate with him.
>>
>>19448812
MetaOP, Sniper is still providing overwatch fire support for Lind, right?
>>
>>19449004
We're not worried about heaven. We're connected to the warp here. We're worried about far worse things.
>>
>>19448963

That may work better than having a probe droid very markedly place a communicator near Ahriman. Just make sure that the communicator has some padding or something so that it doesn't break upon landing. Although there is no guarantee that Ahriman will recognize it for a communicator and send one of his subordinates to retrieve it.
>>
>>19448840
You do so, but unfortunately the image is distorted enough that all you can make out is that the three humanoids are human size, one wear red clothing, one wears black, and one wears purple. Well that's something, I guess.

The forces of Chaos fall upon TC and Rei, and though the pair fight valiantly, and with many a cheaty move even with the reality emitters beating down on them, eventually a chaos marine manages to grab hold of both of them and take away their weapons. Ahriman begins walking towards them.

"Lost tracking on goddess Belldandy and Skuld!" your c/s officer reports. One of your Observers suddenly malfunctions as Skuld PULLS herself from the main lens, pops out, and begins to race towards the battle.

"Uh... Tracking REGAINED on goddess Skuld!" your officer reports, slightly confused.
>>
>>19449025
Now would be when we rescue the SUEs.

We don't want Ahriman to loot the SUEs.

And he's obviously trying to subdue the SUEs rather than kill them.

This is not good btw.

So, yes, we actually have to rescue the fucking SUEs. At least this'll get us major brownie points for tricking them later.
>>
>>19449025

SWEET JESUS.

We should probably deploy some troops RIGHT STAT NOW to intervene.
>>
rolled 57 = 57

>>19449016
Yes.

>>19448947
The Farseers attempt to see far...
>>
>>19449025
...but while he's within the field of effect of a Mk. II Reality Emitter, Ahriman can't use Warp sorcery because he's essentially standing inside a Gellar Field.
I don't think we have to do anything much at this point.
>>
Get the Abjurer's within range. I want to hit him with a spam of dismissals.

http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Dismissal

The chance of sending him elsewhere will be worth it.
>>
>>19449051
So you think we should just see how this plays out?
Seems risky.
>>
>>19449049
Send Ryu, Darius, Lyla and Agrias down to assist the SUEs in their fight, imo.
>>
>>19449067
>Beating the Will saving throw of Ahzek Ahriman
...Yeah that sounds probable.
>>
+1 to Abjurers plan. Sniper, if you can make a headshot on that Chaos Marine, do it! Blowing off some arms would be awesome, too!

Focus fire between the Marine and Ahriman. Drive them apart!

Accurate fire on that Chaos Marine, everything else focus to drive a hail of gunfire between them and Ahriman.

Someone yell at that faggot VindiSUE to get over there and help.
>>
>>19449078
No, I'm just saying that we don't have to attempt to interpose ourselves between Ahriman and the SUE's.

Sniper is already in the area. We can have him fire a warning shot at Ahriman's feet to get his attention, and indicate that he should leave now while he has the chance.
He'll see that his magic doesn't work, and a sniper ready to shoot the Chaos Marine that has the two SUE's captured. The message is obvious: Leave, or die.
>>
>>19449078
>>19449051
>>19449025

I'm leaning towards intervening. Ahriman KNOWS that we're bound to be here sooner or later. He may have prepared countermeasures for our reality emitters. At the very least, we do NOT want Skuld attempting to go toe-to-toe with Chaos troops and quite possibly the Rubric Marines. We don't know where Belldandy is either; she's likely on her way to the battlefield as well.

Ahriman is up to no good. We should at least be in a place where we can make him think twice.
>>
>>19449094
We don't want Heroes down there that can get affected by the SUE's enthrallment, and the SUE's have shown able to sense reality field emitters. Sending them down right now is just plain unnecessary, when we already have Sniper in a good spot to intervene with an anti-tank rifle.
>>
>>19449108
But shouldn't Ahriman be able to sense that he is currently completely cut off from the Warp?
The fact that he still seems so unconcerned makes me think that we might be placing too much faith in the Reality Emitters.
>>
>>19449139
If that's the case, then we need to find out NOW that Chaos has found a way around the primary reason for our development of the Mk. II Reality Emitter.
The whole reason for the development work was to develop an Anti-Warp field, and our scientists should have already tested it against the Farseers. If the reality emitters aren't able to prevent Warp magic like they're supposed to, then we need to know now, rather than when we go into battle against a Chaos battlefleet.
>>
>>19449108
what weapon is Sniper equipped with?
>>
>>19449139
Even without his powers, he's still a Space Marine and a veteran of 10,000 years of war against every kind of foe you can imagine.
>>
rolled 70 = 70

>>19449049
The Farseers report that there do not seem to be any foreign spirits other than the demons present at the battleground.

Your forces advance towards Ahriman, your Abjurers casting a volley of Dismissal towards him...
>>
>>19449184
...Hopefully we won't run into him again any time soon.
>>
>>19449171
He currently is equipped with a .50 BMG anti-tank sniper rifle.
>>
>>19449184
Of the three Dismissal spells thrown at Ahriman, he shrugs off one, and is somehow able to misdirect another two onto nearby demons, causing them to howl and vanish as they return to the Warp. His eyes seem to glow beneath his visor.

"Ah, I was waiting for you to finally join the festivities," he cooly states, voice carrying over the din of battle and distance to reach your troops. "Not in a talking mood, this time?"
>>
>>19449258
Hello again Ahriman. We can't let you take them. You know that.
>>
>>19449258
Yeah, you're not allowed to take them, I know it sucks but, dems the breaks *shrug*
>>
>>19449270
That.
>>
>>19449258
"Hello Ahriman. You know we can't let you have them. If you want to watch, you're welcome to spectate. But, I would suggest removing yourself now. There are two entities swiftly approaching, that even you would be hard-pressed to combat."

Also, are we detecting any Warp magic or usage of Warp powers from Ahriman within the reality field?
>>
>>19449258

Talking is fine... but it seems that you have a lot going on here just for a chat.
>>
>>19449258
"Ahriman... What happened to your not being a pawn of Chaos? You made it pretty clear that you weren't Tzeentch's lapdog, yet here you are. Did he force you into this?"

"But regardless, you're important to your own story. You'd better fall back because there's a pair of entities coming to this battlefield that surpass both of us... And that idiot Marine over there is holding the thing drawing them here. They won't be in a talkative mood if they see that scene."

Goddamnit. Tracking on Belldandy and Skuld NOW. Someone shut down that damn ward!
>>
>>19449258
You didn't seem to be in the mood for negotiation, so we thought we'd give you a favor and give you a complimentary retreat.
Because as you will be soon to discover, this is not a place where you want to be.
This isn't like the world we last met, where the gods were idle things languishing to the West.
Here the gods are numerous and potent, and I believe you've made three of them quite angry.
>>
>>19449347

Skuld is hoofing it towards the two subdued SUEs and Ahriman.

Belldandy's location is currently unknown. It can be assumed that she's heading to the field as well.

"I do? And why not? You seem to want them out of here, I want the same. I'm not even requiring a service of you this time... I would think you'd be glad for the help," Ahriman replies. "And you have an interesting Gellar-Field variant in those vessels of yours... but do you really think that will be sufficient to seal off ALL my power?"

TC and Rei look extremely confused at the conversation.

Skuld is almost to the battlezone, while Brett is almost done killing the chaos marines sent to keep him occupied.
>>
>>19449369
"Well, we're rescuing them now. From you."
Send in the ... whoever it was we were sending to stop this from happening. Gotta make sure we have some forces in there.
>>
>>19449369
...He has a point.
But giving him the power of two powerful SUE's would be introducing a grave threat to the Meta. There'd be no way for us to get away from getting removed by a Black Ops wetwork team if we let Ahriman take them.
>>
>>19449369
Trust us, some major bad juju is on its way here to fuck up everything, just have your friend over there give us back the MacGuffin and you won't have to reap the inevitable whirl wind
>>
>>19449369
Unfortunately we all know that that isn't an option.
Powerful and wise you may be, but you nonetheless lack the resources to contain or control the power that fuels them.
I doubt you can halt the corruption they unconsciously wreak on the fabric of reality, which means they are still our problem.
>>
>>19449369
No, but if need be, we have something even stronger.
I suggest that you go home. Unfortunately, you're important to where you come from, or else we let these goddesses deal with you. You have about a minute before something that's equivalent to a living saint shows up to take back her friends.
>>

As mighty as the legions of Chaos are, there's no telling what would happen if you got them. Even if the interest is merely academic, the trickle-down could be hazardous.

Moreover, there are at least two deities who could dwarf us that are on their way. Not to mention that other berserker is nearly done chopping through the other troops that were sent ahead of you.
>>
>>19449369
"I'm sorry Ahriman. But you put us in a bad position. We can't let you take them. That would upset the balance that we work so hard to maintain. Our superiors would have our souls ripped into a thousand pieces and grafted onto computers as CPU's if we allowed you to acquire such things while we were in a position to stop you.
"Ahriman, you have 30 seconds. Two entities with far more power than you or us are on their way right now, and they WILL tear you apart. Release the two of them, and leave, for both our sakes."

If the Chaos Marine hasn't let go of the two SUE's, have Sniper shoot the Marine in the head.
>>
>>19449409
Yeah unfortunately even giving him Trevor would probably be too risky wouldn't it?
>>
>>19449347
"I am NO ONE'S lap dog," Ahriman states. "Which is why I've... commandeered the local rabble here. A presence encroaches on us in the warp, a presence that turns what it touches into mere toys, shells. A presence I've tracked to HIM." Ahriman jabs an armored finger at Brett. "I will be NO ONE'S toy. For their sins, I will pull the living secrets from their bodies and allow my pets to play with their souls. Do not think you can stop me. Better than you have tried. But if you want me to leave... well, I can oblige."

Ahriman waves a hand and the Chaos forces begin marching towards the portals, TC and Rei in tow. The 3 chaos marines left engaging Brett begin to fall back towards them as well, luring the enraged VindiSUE closer...
>>
>>19449522
How close is Vitun to them?
>>
>>19449522
I think there's been a failure to communicate.
We aren't the ones you have to worry about.
>>
>>19449522

So even Chaos is not immune to the corrupting effects of the SUE. And Ahriman was either enraged enough or scared enough so that he is attempting to find a WH40k homebrewed way of containing them.

Nonetheless, should we attempt to intervene anyway and save at least TC/Rei? Maybe say that he can keep Brett, but the two knights stay with us?
>>
>>19449522
I'd say "Send our forces in to engage them".
Sniper won't stop all of them.

Time to deploy ... well, pretty much all our heroes, I'd say. Along with the Delta Greens and the MetPharm troops.

Stop those Chaos Marines. Stop the fuck out of them.

And yes, that's a vote to "Send more forces down to intervene".

Sniper fires his rifle as Belldandy bursts from a nearby campus building and begins racing towards the battlefield.

"Rei! Noooooo!" Skuld screams, reaching out towards the youth while running.

"You are the leader then. I need answers. You're coming with me," Lind declares, raising her halberd and soaring towards Ahriman.

Your forces are now in combat range. Star-Lord and Darius are waiting for the order to engage.
>>
>>19449522
"Sorry, Ahriman. But while we understand your fury, since it is the same thing that drives us, you know all too well the power that you would acquire from learning their secrets, and how we cannot allow you, a rogue faction, to tip the balance."

Have Sniper shoot the Chaos Marine that has TC and Rei.
>>
>>19449600
Jesus christ, fucking engage.
Get Agrias down there if she's not already, summon rocks around whatever portal they've got set up. It'll at least slow them down a bit. Along with, you know, cutting shit up with Gurthang.
>>
>>19449522
All forces, priority alert! We cannot allow the SUEs to reach the portals. Free to engage! Ram through their columns and take the SUEs from them by force!

Walls of Force between them and the portal! Teleport a fucking Baneblade on top of the column if that's what it takes!

Get combat forces down here now and everyone stop them!

Farseers! Doom on that Chaos Marine holding the Knights!
>>
Wall of Force around the portals. We can't let him escape with them.

Have Vitun casting Mass heal on our troops and the goddesses to keep them at max health.
>>
>>19449620
Belay that.
I really don't want to be caught in their crossfire.
>>
>>19449656
Yeah I agree with that part.
>>
>>19449600
Star-Lord and Darius, pin-point strikes only. Once Sniper takes down the Chaos Marine that is holding TC and Rei, have him switch to support fire for Star-Lord and Darius.

If the Abjurers are within line-of-sight, have them attempt to erect a Wall of Force containing the portals, preventing the Chaos Forces from escaping. Have them ready to dispel the Walls as soon as Ahriman realizes he's in a losing battle and tries to escape.

Our primary concern is to prevent the SUE's from being taken by Ahriman, not to protect them.

Have Virtun use his Double Roll ability.
>>
>>19449600
If you are scrambling reinforcements, how are they getting there, how many, and who?

Sniper's shot strikes one of the chaos marines in the chest, breaking off a chunk of ceramite, but failing to deliver a killing blow. The shot does however, cause him to falter enough to allow TC to break free.

"TC!" Belldandy calls. "I believe in you!"

With those words, the SUE seems to have a surge of energy, delivering fiery blasts to the chaos marines around him that temporarily drive them back. Rei manages to break free as well, hastily fumbling for the weapon that was taken away from him.

Lind flies past two Rubric Marines that stand in front of her to guard Ahriman. A second later, they fall to pieces, cut to shreds in the blink of an eye. Puffs of dust fly up as the remains entombed within finally see daylight after millennium. Ahriman turns just in time to be tackled to the ground.

"You don't... understand..." Ahriman wheezes as the superhuman grapples with the Valkyrie. "They MUST be destroyed!"

"I will understand when you tell me everything you know. Now submit and surrender," Lind states, her twin angels emerging from her back to summon an icy gale that cuts the sorcerer and goddess off from any of his allies.

Gonna want Virtun, Darius, and perhaps even Douglas to port down there and start Diplomacying.
And by Diplomacying I mean "Let's convince the SUEs to enter stasis tanks".

You know what?
I think the problem here is a failure to communicate.
How about we all simmer down for a bit?

End to Strife
Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting]
Level: Apostle of peace 9, cleric 9
Components: V, S, DF
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: 80 ft.
Area: 80-ft.-radius emanation, centered on you
Duration: 1 round/level
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes
This spell creates an invisible aura of divine power around the caster. All intelligent creatures within the spell’s
area suddenly become aware that any hostile actions they take will be met with dire consequences.
Any creature in the spell’s area that makes an attack takes 20d6 points of damage. The caster decides whether the spell deals lethal or nonlethal damage but cannot change her mind once the spell is cast. Creatures with multiple attacks take the damage after every attack they make.
Targets outside the area of the spell may freely attack creatures in the area without taking damage from this spell.

Non-lethal of course.
How about it?
>>
>>19449707
"Ahriman, surrender now, I beg of you. You CAN'T fight her; we can't let you die, but neither can we aid you against her. We can talk this out like calmly like the AWARE people we are."

Have Sniper keep overwatch, and let the Chaos forces retreat through the portals as long as TC and Rei are free.
>>
>>19449754
It's a mind-compulsion, and it can be affected by Spell Resistance, which I would suspect Lind has.
Too high of a chance that it would be interpreted by Lind as an attempt to mess with her mind (which it technically is) and make her hostile.
>>
>>19449754

That might be something to consider. At the very least, it would allow us some breathing room for talking.

And if Brett decides to go apeshit on Ahriman (likely), then he'll be significantly weakened for it.
>>
>>19449754
Seems like a good idea.
>>
>>19449777
We could give her a warning before casting the spell.
>>
>>19449707

Should we attempt to transport the weapons away from the SUEs?

While it's all well and good that Ahriman can't get his hands on the SUEs, how are we going to diplomance our way past the goddesses to let the knights into our custody as opposed to using their divine magic to fortify them?
>>
>>19449840
Lind might come in handy.
And as a weapon of last resort, there's always Keiichi.
It's not ideal, but the situation has escalated to the points that high-stakes negotiation seems to be the only solution.
>>
>>19449840
no. It could be considered an attack.
>>
Hey MetaOP, can the Oncoming Storm scan Earth for any big reality distortions that aren't at the campus?
Because I suspect our three surprise guests are coming to pay Tom a visit.
>>
>>19449707

>reinforcements

We may have to contend with SUEs if we get bad rolls. Or maybe even pissed off goddesses.

The KI silencers, perhaps with reality disrupters may be a good choice. Anyone else have any other suggestions? I don't think that a display of force would be a great idea here --- we need people who can either help us snap the goddesses out of the compulsion, or who can diplomance the hell out of everything.
>>
>>19449927
...The Avatar?
>>
>>19449760
As a clarification, have Sniper ONLY engage Chaos forces that successfully grapple any of the SUE's and begins pulling them towards the portals.
If one of the Chaos Marines gets lucky and kills a SUE, then that's perfect for us.

Also, have ANON run another scan of Nekomi City for reality distortions, to see if the three unknowns from the portals in the wilderness show up.

Also, have Finalon and Tosh beam down to start trying to track the three unknowns, with help from VP-99.

Also, I take it that we did not have the Zombie Hunters or the Dystopian Troops deploy to Nekomi Tech to track down the transpace transmitter, correct?
>>
>>19449919
It can. Locating the last SUE via the scanners shouldn't be that difficult.
>>
>>19449985
This seems to be the best plan.
I support this plan.

In addition, are Darius and Virtun available for our usual bullshit-o-rama diplomacy spam at Nekomi Tech?
>>
>>19449965

He may be a good choice. Do we want to toss in Cheryl, or do you think that she can work her magic from our capital ships?

And secondly, all of them are going to want explanations. The Al'Kesh and the reality emitter beams are going to cast suspicions on our presence here.
>>
>>19450008
It's an anti-chaos emitter. Even Ahriman backed us up on that, and Brett can be used as proof.
>>
>>19449985
>Also, have Finalon and Tosh beam down to start trying to track the three unknowns, with help from VP-99.

This, however team them up with Ryu Ninja. Or have Ryu Ninja begin tracking seperate from those three. Tell him to stay undetected and not engage unless his life is in danger, and only then to make an opening to withdraw.

(Thank God for Ryu Ninja's doppleganger techniques.)
>>
>>19450008
>Al'Kesh and reality fields
What's there to explain? Ahriman said as much as they're a form of Gellar Field, that suppresses Chaos magic.
We were trying to contain the Warp forces leaking out of the portals.
We wouldn't have had to do that if the Vindicare had done his job.
And it's not our fault or responsibility that the Knights operate on a similar magical wavelength to Chaos; we can have our other spellcasters cast some spells to show that neutral magic isn't affected by the reality fields.
>>
>>19449991
Well lets do it.
Also have Vitun cast >>19449754
Prefaced with a warning that sounds a little like this:
"Everyone calm down, we are going to resolve this like sane and reasonable human...oids or pay the price."
>>
>>19450075
And warning them about a spell that will allow us to speak peacefully.

Remember, if need be, Vitun can end his spell at any time.
>>
>>19450075
I still think we should not cast that spell, at least until all Chaos forces are either in retreat or dead. I still want there to be a chance for TC or Rei, or Brett, to get themselves killed.
>>
>>19450096
They'll likely get themselves killed by attacking something.
>>
>>19450096
>>19450105

Although, diplomancing with an axe over their heads may not improve their disposition toward us. It is also an offensive spell, and may be interpreted as a hostile action.

So, reinforcements:

-KI with reality disrupters, Avatar of the Virtues.

Anyone else we want to send down? Or move to the battlefield?
>>
>>19449985
Also, have Virtun use DOUBLE ROLL in our attempt to get Lind to not kill Ahriman, and Ahriman to not fight the Goddess with a halberd at his throat.
>>
>>19450128
Actually, I think Ahriman would love it. It'd give him a chance to play his mind games without anyone trying to angrily stab him in the gonads.
>>
>>19450128
True, but I don't think they're liable to listen to us under normal circumstances.
If we want to get these guys to listen to us speak softly, unfortunately we're going to need one hell of a big stick.
>>
>>19450163
Actually yeah, that's a bit of a downside.
Like this spell would mostly be for his benefit, and I think everyone would know it.
>>

You set your hounds loose on the scent...

>>19450128
The Avatar holds up a small gem of some sort and a shimmering blue portal springs up from the ground before him. He gestures, and the Knights Inductor hesitantly enter, reappearing among friendly forces planetside as an identical portal springs up behind a Von Luckner. After the last Knight is through, the Avatar steps through and the portal closes.

"Everyone STOP! Enough of this madness! Let us use reason instead of rage to find a solution to our troubles!" Virtun states, casting his mighty spell. A sense of heavy power permeates the area.
>>
>>19450192
>68, 4, 65
Is that WITH our Double Roll in effect?
>>
>>19450192
So the first number is for the tracking
And the next two are Vitun's double roll ability for his spell, right?
>>
Alright, we're going with the story of:
We are agents of an Agency. We are here because there are problems with Yggdrassil and Nidhoggr. While we neither have the access clearance or the expertise to fix either system, that's not our job. Our given task here is to track down, investigate, and ultimately resolve whatever caused the mess in the first place.

We don't mention the Meta, the Transpace Guard (we only refer to our group as 'the Agency' and our 'superiors'), or the word Canons.

We aren't supposed to allow Ahriman to be killed because he is required elsewhere, and we know that he is not the one who caused the problems here in the first place.

We try to keep Ahriman from mentioning the Meta, because we don't want Lind to be asking uncomfortable questions.
If he refers to our previous dealings, we can say that we negotiated at the time because it was felt to be the least disruptive means of resolving our mutual problem.

And we use the Double Roll during these negotiations.

So with that out of the way, how exactly are we going to talk all of them down?

Subjects: Help us help you (Trapping the SUEs), who the hell are you guys?, I know he's a complete bastard but he can't die (Ahriman), YGGDRASIL is five kinds of fucked and you goddesses need to get off your asses and start fixing things, Do you really love him (breaking SUE compulsion)?

If we're attempting to break TC's hold over Bell, should we cart in K1 from Wyoming? His presence there could grant a significant bonus to Bell's saving throw vs. compulsion.
>>
>>19450307
Ideally we won't do most of the talking.
>>
>>19450227
Correct.

>>19450192
Lind narrows her eyes, keeping Ahriman grappled, but not making a further move.

"I will grant you the courtesy of hearing you out since you are willing to expend high class magic on it," Lind states.

"Consorting with the fallen ones is heresy!" Brett declares, charging a nearby Possessed only to scream in pain as divine lightning blasts down from the heavens to electrocute him. The part Saiyan groans as he sways on his feet. This opportunity is too much to ignore, and the Possessed, as well as the remaining demons among the enemy attempt to swarm him. A veritable storm of divine lightning erupts in the area, and when it is done, the demons are piles of ash.

"Well you have our attention," Ahriman dryly states. "Now what?"
>>
>>19450320
I'd like to have Brett and TC explain what their deal is, like TC explain from the night he met Belldandy and Brett to just... start from the beginning.
Actually hearing it out loud might help Skuld and Belldandy break free of the charm, and even if it won't, it will nonetheless make things very clear to Lind that something is terribly wrong.
>>
>>19450326
It's general bullet points for Virtun, the Avatar, Star-Lord, and Darius to keep in mind so that everyone's stories all mesh and don't contradict.
We keep it as vague as we can, answering questions without real answers.
>>
>>19450355
"Well, first, the Vindicare needs immediate medical attention.
"We are beaming a medical stasis pod now.
"Then we can talk out our mutual problem, like the AWARE people we are, Ahriman."

Get a Starfleet stasis pod covered in reality emitters down there now and put Brett into it before he can recover!

Use a Double Roll to do so.
>>
>>19450363

While the people are talking, have the Avatar attempt to subtly gauge the flow of mana of the goddesses compared to that of Lind's. Have him note any discrepancies (i.e. patterns of SUE compulsion), and hypothesize ways of restoring regular mana flow to them (breaking the compulsion).
>>
>>19450387
As soon as the Brett has been safely contained in the stasis pod, have an Al'Kesh land and uncloak, have the pod loaded on to it, and then have the Al'Kesh fly to the Storm to have the pod put into the Containment Bay.

Questions to ask the Knights to unravel their unnatural nature:

What are your names? Could you tell us a bit about yourselves? Where were you born? What town? Can you tell us anything about that city? What school did you go to? Who were your friends? You have brothers, can you tell us about any of your adventures together? Did you play any pranks on each other? Who are your parents? Where did they come from?

If the subject about the reality emitters comes up, explain that they are anti-chaos fields. Though we do not know why they affected the knights as such.
>>
>>19450444
Alright, we can try this first. But I still think that we should put Brett into stasis.

And fuck, Belldandy is going to heal him with magic, isn't she? And since Brett was knocked down to near-fatal, he's going to get a massive boost in power when he's back up.
>>
>>19450558
...I hadn't considered that.
>>
>>19450558

A fair point. If he resists, he'll get blasted to hell again. Do we even have any stasis pods on hand, though?

Although, what can we possibly do to make the goddesses pause if they try to heal Brett? Say that he'll be terribly offended if he accepts help from anyone else, and he's essentially fine and he'll recover?
>>
>>19450553
No need to go that far.
I'm pretty sure just having TC start off from the time he first met Belldandy until now will be more than enough.
>>
>>19450620
The Indefatigable has stasis pods as a standard piece of equipment.
They aren't tied into the central computer, and are stand-alone devices.
We'd have to check, but there's a good chance that they're still intact.

The other option is to use a nanny-bag to keep Brett in a nanite-induced medical coma for transport.
>>
K plan:
Get Vindicare into a Stasis pod, since they look like Healing pods. That'll fix that issue.

Then, have TC explain the story of him and Bell. Might want K1 present, too.

Tell Ahriman to go back where-ever he came from and stay there.

That should resolve the Saiyan and Ahriman issues, at least for now.

Have the Farseers and Cheryl give whatever boosts they can to Virtun's Diplomacy, and have him use any double rolls he has left.

Plan: Stasis Brett, talk to TC to show the story. We'll eventually be luring them into the Judgement gate's stasis trap.
>>
Wait, so, are we sticking with the 'put Brett in medical stasis' plan, or are we going with the 'have Brett explain how WH40k is related to AMG!' plan?
>>
>>19450704
Well he can use words to explain how he Vindicared.
While we use words to offer him Healing pods.
Everybody's getting words.
>>
>>19450387
The pod is being prepared as Virtun speaks.

"The key to solving any conflict is understanding where the other person is coming from. Brett, what is a Vindicare doing on this world?"

"Yes, Brett, tell us everything about you," Ahriman murmurs. "You can clearly trust the incredibly powerful unsanctioned psyker in front of you."

"I am not asking for secrets," Virtun says. "Just what you want us to know."

"I want you to know that you stand before the Emperor's chosen servant!' Brett hisses. "I want you to know that I have been charged with guarding this world from the depredations of chaos, so the souls of the Emperor's faithful can pass on in peace." Brett nods towards Lind and Belldandy. "And if I fail, his servants will strike you down."

"Belldandy isn't any Emperor's servant!" TC speaks up. "She's a goddess!"

"One that serves a facet of our God-Emperor!" Brett insists. "Just as the foul demons here serve Chaos through the witch-queen Hild!"

"...what?" Skuld asks, confused. "That's... what?"

>>19450402

They all want to turn this world from a heaven for servants of the Emperor to... something else! Only I can save this world!"

Belldandy winces, holding her hands to the sides of her head as a temporary reality distortion ripples through the area.

"Wait a sec! What do you mean only YOU can save the world? We're the Goddess Knights!" Rei pipes up.

"And you did such a good job, letting the forces of Chaos trample this holy garden underfoot with their portals..." Brett begins to say.

"Hey! I don't remember ANY portals showing up until you were around here!" TC challenges. "Maybe YOU'RE one of these chaos dudes!"

"Well..." Ahriman murmurs. "He DOES have an awful lot of skulls on him, doesn't he?"
>>
>>19450716
Have Darius arrive with a PADD containing all AMG! Canon information that he can refer to, to back up Virtun. Have him question the the demons of Hel serving Chaos, since the Doublet System exists to prevent war between Heaven and Hel and is incompatible with Chaos and the Emperor's Astronomicon.

Yes. Ryu goes with one set, VP-98 and VP-99 follow the second set, and Tosh and Finalon take the third set.

And any one of these Heretics could effortly chop up a crowd of muggers.
Were they Demon muggers? I don't see Bell being defeated by anything mortal..."

HAHA.

Notify Mr. K-1 that we have need of his particular skillset. No, not the engineering degree. He should prepare to leave within the next 10 minutes or so; we may need his help to set things right in this world.
>>
>>19450913
"And Bell - weren't you with K? What happened between you two?"

Produce Evidence A: The un-mindscrewed K1.
Yes, we're going to ruin his day again.
>>
>>19450913
"But isn't that...slightly odd? According to our reports, Belldandy Goddess First Class, Category Two, Unrestricted, would have had no problems in defusing such a situation.
"Is it not strange that a Goddess who does not have their power restricted in the course of fulfilling their contract , and protecting herself while she was in a contract with Keiichi Morisato would constitute maintenance of the terms of the contract, would be helpless in the face of mortals?"
>>
>>19450913
Well lets see here. Belldandy? Hypothetically, if someone dialed the Goddess Relief Agency and asked you to destroy the world, would you be able to do so?
But lets just move past that a bit. What happens after you rescued an unlimited first-class goddess from muggers?
>>
Eventually we're totally going to point out that our Gellar field sapped the strength of the Knights.
But we'd best wait until someone calls us on it.

Like, an Al'kesh with a healing pod and K1 arrives and people are like "hey dude wut".
>>
>>19450913
>The hairs on the back of his neck have already begun to rise.
Haha!
Have one of the SCP Trooper we left there to protect him go up to Keiichi.
"Mr. Morisato? It's almost time for you to leave, sir."
>>
>>19450976
Lets wait on showing our hand for now. I want to here what she has to say.
>>
>>19450976
Let's wait a little more on that. Get the power difference between mortal muggers and a Goddess First Class out of the way first.
>>
>>19450976
>>19451037

Agreed. Hold our cards to our chest for now, let them try to reason through it themselves.
>>
>>19451020
Keiichi winces. "And go where?"

>>19450963
"I was weakened because Keichi's dismissal of me left me so distraught," Belldandy says. "He told me to leave... so I did. I just couldn't think straight. There's no way I could've been able to fight off those terrible men..."
>>
>>19451139
Why'd Keiichi dismiss you?
And, COULD he even do that? You two had a contract, didn't you?
>>
>>19451139
>Goddess weakened
>Symbiotic relationship with knights
...
So does this mean that TC is weaker now than he was when he met Bell?
>>
>>19451139
Back to school.

As for Belldandy and TC
...Sure. But what happened after that?
>>
>>19451139
"Keiichi, mah bro. There's a girl at Nekomi you just have to talk to.
>>
>>19451139

Dismiss? Could you elaborate, please? What events spurred this on?
>>
>>19451139
"You're a Goddess. Unless you were clinically braindead at the time you should have been able to at least instinctively do something. Dismissals of that sort wouldn't have weakened you to any noticeable extent, even with extreme emotional devastation."

>>19451167
Also, this. "Because you're still bound to Keiichi, not this Knight fellow. It seems odd that he'd show up and.. well.. usurp Keiichi's position in your duties; doesn't it? Speaking of whom... Where is he?" That should cause some trip ups.
>>
>>19451139
SCP Trooper to Keiichi:
"I believe you already know, sir. Back to Nekomi City, back to the life that was put on hold by an outside power."
The trooper takes off his helmet to show that he's no longer speaking in an official capacity.
"Hey man, whatever problems you had in your life, you've got to face up to them. I've read your file, and at least to me, it doesn't seem like everything was that bad. Least you got a girl you can go back to. I'm sure that you can patch things up with her."

>back to Virtun and Belldandy
"Keiichi dismissed you? Did he formally end the contract and was it accepted by Yggdrasil?
"And even so, Belldandy, you are a Goddess First Class. Your existence on this plane cannot be threatened by a mortal."
>>
>>19451196
"You're not going to try setting me up with someone are you? It's weird enough when my sister tries that, let alone special forces people..." Keiichi says with a frown. He sighs. "But sure, let's go."

>>19451153
>>19451167
"I... I don't... we just... lived together for a time... at his house..." Belldandy says, blushing lightly. "TC is so wonderful..."
>>
>>19451288
Waitasec...
Bell. Did you sleep with TC?
You know that creating a demigod, with no corresponding demi-devil, would unbalance the heavens, right?
I mean, that's why you were chaste with K all these years. ... You remember, yes?
>>
>>19451288

Ms. Belldandy... I don't think you quite answered why Keiichi dismissed you, or the circumstances preceding that dismissal.
>>
>"TC is so wonderful..."
O RLY @ +43 diplomacy
>>
>>19451324
>>19451324
>>19451324

WE DON'T KNOW THAT YET IN-GAME. THAT IS META-META KNOWLEDGE.

But still, we can press this to our advantage. Ask Belldandy to elaborate on her life with TC.
>>
>>19451288
>Keiichi
"Of course not, sir. Just trying to put right what once went wrong."

>Belldandy
"Miss Belldandy, that doesn't really answer the question. Miss Lind, you are aware of the circumstances surrounding the contract between the Goddess Belldandy and the human Keiichi Morisato, correct? Doesn't it strike you as odd, how the contract could simply lapse like that?"
>>
>>19451357
When the SPC Soldier says this, the Quantum Leap theme should play in the background.
>>
>>19451288
"So you're saying you abandoned your duties? Doesn't sound like something a Goddess would do intentionally... Unless someone forced her. I mean, do you even know where Keiichi is? For all you know he could be dead! What would Heaven do in that situation?"

>>19451329
Yes.. Please explain those conditions.

>>19451334
>>19451357
Add this as needed. We need to break this fucker's story he fed her.
>>
>>19451367
Well, we ARE essentially like Sam Beckett, only with guns, wetwork black ops agents, and hit squads, putting right what the SUE's have made go wrong.

Of course that brings up the uncomfortable situation of what happens when we meet with our counterparts.
"Good and bad. Right and Wrong. God and..."
"What gives you the right to leap about time, putting right what I made wrong."
>>
Once we break the SUE's power, we can force him into that "shrivel up into the wimpy self-obsessed person he really is" shtick.

That'll convince everyone.
>>
>>19451426
These ARE our counterparts, these SUEs.
We make 'em get dead.

Also, nobody granted us the right, but nobody can take away the right, either. We're fixing reality and there's nothing you can do to stop it so :P
>>
Also, if the Knights start to go berserk, and/or Brett does, remember that Virtun's spell does not discriminate between friend or foe. If they do go on a rampage, we should toss up lots of defensive stuff and lay on reality emitters FROM EXTERNAL SOURCES (i.e. Al'kesh way outside of the spell's effective radius). None of our troops should perform any hostile actions or effects within the spell.
>>
>>19451444
So we'll need the Mirror, eh?

come to think of it, we might as well get the Mirror down here, that'll give us lots of aces in the hole.
#1: K showing up
#2: Using Mirror to show what Bell and TC truly are.
#3: So about that interspecies relations committee...

We even have Mara's testimony that Yggdrasil started going ballsup after the Knights arrived.
>>
>>19451472
Don't forget how a Gellar field made the Knights' powers stop working so well.
>>

Lind frowns.
"It... did seem like the Ultimate Force would've stopped such a flagrant breach of contract... and it was strange for Mr. Morisato to act in that way. I can't claim to know him as well as Belldandy and her sisters, but I DO know him. I assumed..." Lind trails off. "...but that makes no sense."

"Can you feel the tendrils of insinuation in your mind? It's delicious how obvious it is to those with eyes to see. It touches... everything here," Ahriman murmurs, chuckling darkly.

"Shut up, chaos slave!" Brett roars. "Once I heal..."

"It was because Keiichi wasn't good enough for you!" TC shouts. "That was it! He just wasn't good enough for you, WE were meant to be together, Belldandy! That's why I'm a Goddess Knight..."

>>19451213
"That's... I..." Belldandy begins blinking rapidly.

>>19451324
"No! Of course not..." Belldandy says, blushing heavily. Lind frowns.

"Belldandy... are you OK?" Lind asks. "You're... not acting like yourself."

>"It was because Keiichi wasn't good enough for you!" TC shouts. "That was it! He just wasn't good enough for you, WE were meant to be together, Belldandy! That's why I'm a Goddess Knight..."
Um.
Let me get this straight.
You just called Keiichi. The only person in existence so good that Demons are allergic to him... Not Good?
I don't even, what is this.

>"Shut up, chaos slave!" Brett roars. "Once I heal..."
Dude, Healin' tank over here. Even if you're going to be violent, you still helped us against Chaos, so we'll help you heal.

>>19451527
I'd say bring K1 in and keep the Mirror on standby.

Doubleroll the diplomacy of course, before anyone forgets again. This diplomacy is super duper importance!
>>
>>19451527
I think now would be a good time, also we should bring a white mage to revive K1 if TC goes berserk and attacks him. (be prepared)
>>
>>19451527
Nah not yet, I want the SUE to get good and mad before we drop Kenichi. He'll show his true colours then

Also, bring a Pear. Just an ordinary pear. Trust me, I have a plan.

+1 to bringing in K1 and Mirror on standby. Keiichi gets defensive spells woven around him when he comes out.. They're not offensive spells, so they should be fine in the field.

Calling for diplomancy doubleroll just in case.

Double Roll time.

"Ah yes. The tendrils of influence. Of course it would be so simple if we could get straight to the end of the book, wouldn't it , Ahriman. But you know how sometimes the journey must be endured, the book read from start to finish."

>TC
"Sir, the circumstances surrounding Keiichi Morisato being contracted to Belldandy proved beyond all doubt how good of a person Mr. Morisato is."

>Brett
"Sir, if you cannot maintain some civility during these negotiations, perhaps it would be best if we saw to your wounds, away from here."

Also, voting to keep Keiichi ready and brought over, but not out into the open, just yet.

And have an Auror with the Mirror of Truth on standby to beam down.

The Al'Kesh is still in transit with Keiichi within, but the pod is prepared and beamed down via another Al'Kesh.

"Why would I trust you?" Brett spits.

"We have servants of the Emperor with us. Space Marines, uncorrupted," Virtun points at the Knight Inductor squads. "See the intact purity seals? We are on your side. Didn't you see us fighting Chaos?"

"Space marines..." Brett mumbles. "...but I don't recognize the chapter..."

"Yes, go step into the strange machine," Ahriman murmurs. "Tech heresy is a small price to pay for the ability to go on killing the enemies of the Emperor, isn't it, Vindicare?"

"Shut up!" Brett shouts again.

>>

How many chapters are there? 1000.
How many can you name?

And jesus christ Ahriman he uses a fucking Phase Blade. Tech heresy tech schmerecy.
>>
>>19451650
"Well yes, they're from a smaller, lesser known Chapter, with some ties to the Salamanders."

I think Ahriman is just doing whatever the fuck he wants to troll both sides. He knows that either we'll kill the SUE's for him, or this entire situation will blow up in our face and he can escape. Either way, he wins.
>>
Ahriman is on his own side. Currently his goals must be discovering how the SUEs can do what they do, and how he can defend himself against it.

While a SUE-immunity would be a fantastic thing to have, it would be horrifying if Ahriman was able to develop the same powers of a SUE. That'd be a serious problem.

I'm willing to work with him on executing the SUEs, but letting him run his own experiments is a no-no.

Then again, there's nothing stopping him from visiting a canon outside our jurisdiction/range and capturing a few SUEs there.

If we can, I'd like to work out a trade. He gives us any method of SUE-defense he discovers, and we fill him in on the metaverse. He's tough, but the Combine or Hyper-Athens would fuck him over.
>>
>>19451725
Are we even allowed to make that kind of call? We'd need to contact the higher-ups.

Heck, might be worth contacting Holtz now and saying "A Canon character who's kind of a dick has found a way to access the Meta. Do we keep him alive or kill him?".
>>
>>19451725
Eh, currently he has no means of traveling the Meta.
The Portal to Middle Earth as well as the current one to this Canon were not his doing, he simply made the most of the opportunity.
Lets keep it that way.
>>
>>19451650
Brett begins to walk towards the stasis pod.

"You know as well as I do, that's no Imperium device," Ahriman states. "Are you really that stupid?"

"Don't try to trick me," Brett sneers. "Look at those smooth lines, the tracing of lights, the aesthetic. It isn't Imperium tech. Clearly, it's from the Heavens the Emperor created here. As such, it is fine for me to use."

"...you really ARE that stupid," Ahriman mutters in disbelief.

Finally, Brett reached the pod and clambers inside. The pod activates with a hiss of escaping gas as it closes and keeps him still.

"Good!" Virtun lies. "The healing process begins. We'll get him back here once he's better."
>>
>>19451748
Kinda odd how he shows up where we do, isn't it?

Maybe he's been tagging along in our wake, slipping in before the portal closes and that sort of thing?

Just in case, we should make a pitstop at home base and be scanned.

Ahriman debating The Nameless One would be an epic broadcast.
>>
>>19451772
I figure that we too are bound by the tapestry of narrative, and unfortunately for us, Ahzek Ahriman is a recurring character.
>>
>>19451755
"Alright, let's get him to our resident doctor for a look over. Just because we have healing machines doesn't mean a doctor isn't required."

Have the stasis pod loaded into an Al'Kesh and have it flown to the Storm to be put in containment. Have Doc Lazarus keep an eye on Brett to make sure that no healing occurs while he's in stasis. Then have the Al'Kesh return back to the Nekomi Tech campus to stay on overwatch with the others.

"Ahriman, did you really think that things would go any different?"

"Now, let's get back to the discussion at hand.
"Miss Skuld, according to our files, you are a system administrator for Yggdrasil. Can you tell us what knocked out the Doublet System, and why it has not been re-initialized yet?"
>>
>>19451755
...Alright then where were we?
Ah yes, TC you were explaining what happened when Belldandy accidentally took you to Heaven.
>>
>>19451755
That works... Get the pod on board and sealed away. Great job Ahriman.

Now, where's K1? Keep TC talking.

"Tell us, TC.. How can someone who is so good demons are literally allergic to him be Not Good Enough for a Goddess? What right do you possess to make that judgement call? Those two are bound by Divine Contract to be together.. Yet you appear from nowhere and take his place? Suspiciouussssss..."

Also >>19451831 to Skuld.
>>
Maybe now's a good time to take a break for the night?
>>
>>19451755
Right, get that shit rigged up. Get it hooked up to a power source, get a doctor to watch over it, ensure nothing goes wrong with it and all that.

>>19451831
>"Miss Skuld, according to our files, you are a system administrator for Yggdrasil. Can you tell us what knocked out the Doublet System, and why it has not been re-initialized yet?"
That.

>"Ah yes, TC you were explaining what happened when Belldandy accidentally took you to Heaven."
That.

That.

Remember: We're the good guys here.
The reason we haven't robusted Ahriman yet is because we're going to try non-lethal solutions first before killing people, even if those people are clearly bad dudes.

Btw: 3/6 Nonlethal. Goin' good so far lads.
>>
>>19451853
Also he made contact with Mr Morisato and found that he was under a some sort of mental compulsion that FORCED him to drop Belldandy like a hot potato.
>>
To Ahriman: He's a SUE, a spoiled child unjustly gifted with power beyond his station. They're almost ALL that stupid.
>>
>>19451971
We can't say that, at least, not yet.
We still have TC and Rei here, with Belldandy and Skuld under their control.
>>
>>19451971
Belay that forever.
No using classified terms around the guy we fear.

"Uh... well, the demons must've hacked it, obviously!" Skuld states. "The demons hacked it, started a war, so the Goddess Knights had to be called in to stop it!"

"Yeah!" Rei cheers.

"Just look at me!" TC says with a frown. "I'm tall, muscular, and fit in ADDITION to everything else Keiichi was! Plus, only I can protect Belldandy with the powers of a Goddess Knight! It's a clear upgrade!"

"You show none of the respect he does. You are nothing like him. He is superior to you because he lets them be themselves, and respects them. I wonder.. Why is it Belldandy is so weak, then? She wasn't this weak before you showed up..."

Now would be a glorious time for Keiichi to show up. Let's see how he truly stacks up to the original.
>>
>>19451988
>"Uh... well, the demons must've hacked it, obviously!"
...
You're a sysadmin and you don't know how the system got out of whack?
Also
> To keep the battle between gods and demons from escalating, demons are not allowed to hack into this heavenly control system,
... Demons are forbidden to do that, in order to stop H4x wars between Nidhogg and Yggdrasil which could make the world stop working.
Dude did you read the manual for your system?

Plus.
>Started a War
No that is not meant to happen.
Also are you at War now?
No you are not.
What happened to the Doublet System?
War is a bad idea due to that existing because you kill your own dudes.

What is this I do not even.

>>19452030
You. Shut up. Do not taunt the SUE while the Goddess is still enthralled.
Bring in K1 first before taunting anyone.
>>
>>19451988
"Miss Skuld, that makes no sense. The Doublet system was put in place by BOTH sides to prevent a highly unproductive and destructive war. Neither Heaven or Hel would gain by having the war re-ignite.
"Not only that, but their own computer system, Nidhoggr, was taken down at the same time with massive malicious overwriting of data sectors. This was not done as a counter-attack by Yggdrasil's network defenses, but by the same force that brought down Yggdrasil.
"And wouldn't the first priority be to bring the Doublet System back up so that the demons would be prevented from actually going through with a war, in any case, rather than attempting to fight one where it is assured to cause massive casualties?"

>to TC
"As for you, sir. Mr. Morisato understood his limits, and never did he say that he DESERVED Belldandy's affections because he was better than anyone else. He never had to say it, because the Ultimate Force recognized how he is such a good person."

ENERGY IMMUNITY
Abjuration
Level: Cleric 6, druid 6, sorcerer/wizard 7, wu jen 7
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Target: Creature touched
Duration: 24 hours
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)
This abjuration grants a creature and its equipment complete protection against damage from one of the five energy types—acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic. Energy immunity absorbs only damage, so the recipient could still suffer side effects such as drowning in acid, being deafened by a sonic attack, or becoming immobilized in ice.
Note: Energy immunity overlaps protection from energy and resist energy. So long as energy immunity is in effect, the other spells absorb no damage.

Set it to 'Fire' of course.

Mission: Sit back and enjoy the fireworks.
Also can an Al'Kesh beam down the Mirror of Truth?
There's no time like the present for testing it out.

Anything from the tracking group?

Wakka wakka wakka noot noot.
We just disabled Skuld for a length of time long enough to do whatever we want with Rei.

"Striking, isn't it, Star-Lord? It must be why it was so easy for the overwrites to take effect."

The 503 and Cloudflare are a real pain.

Anyway, we had an Auror put on stand-by with the Mirror of Truth. Now may be a good time for him to beam down and join our negotiators.
>>
What is this stuff about overwrites and Star-Lord? Did I miss something?
>>

Yggdrasil gon' fucked up due to SUEs
Shit got wrecked in the system
>>
>>19452401
Mara explained that Yggdrasil and Nidhoggr were hit by massive overwrites of data and entire sub-systems going down, including the Doublet System.
Star-Lord is remarking on how similar TC and K1 look.

So it's likely that TC, as a SUE, entering himself into Yggdrasil was made easier by looking like a data entry that already existed (K1).
>>
rolled 73, 62 = 135

>>19452336
That will be handled next thread.

Belldandy looks more and more uncertain and TC looks more and more unsettled as Virtun and Star-Lord relay your words. Finally Keiichi speaks.

"Belldandy... I... I don't know what happened or why I said what I did. I just know that it was wrong. Belldandy, please come back to me!" Keiichi shouts, urgently. "I... I WISH A GODDESS LIKE YOU WOULD STAY WITH ME FOREVER!"

Belldandy gasps at the words.
>>
>>19452454
Haha yes.
>>
>>19452454
"Keiichi..." Belldandy whispers, breaking out in a run for him as Keiichi begins to run as well. The two lovebirds catch each other in an embrace midway as TC howls.

"No... no, no, no NO! This isn't my dream!!!" TC shouts, pulling himself up. "You... You're ruining everything! You've got to be evil! I'll purge you with FIRE! Divine Heaven BLA-AAAAARGH!"

TC attempts to cast a spell and this is smitten by a strike of divine lightning. The SUE falls backward, groaning, still injured from before. He is on the verge of consciousness, blackened and battered. "Not my dream..." he murmurs. "Not my dream..."

You're right, this -isn't- your dream.
As a matter of fact, I think it's past time you woke up.
Men, allow TC to take a good hard look at himself in the Mirror.

>>19452466
Show him the fucking mirror, cast Sleep, Binding, Stupefy, and all the Auror's incapacitating charms on him.
Anyone know any Abjurer charms for this asshole? The one that traps him in Amber and Smoke?
Haul his ass aboard the Storm.

"Your dream is only everyone else's nightmare. It's time for you to leave."

Virtun, Avatar, can you tell if Belldandy has broken free of the SUE's control?

"Do you understand now, Ms. Lind?"
>>
>>19452482
>>19452483
NO! Not the Mirror! Not yet! If he becomes de-powered, he'll be useless for our anti-SUE research!

We need to get him into containment, either with a stasis pod or with a nanny-bag set to put him into a nanite-induced medical coma!
>>
>>19452483
Unfortunately it turns out there's another couple levels before they can cast the amber one.
But until then, we'll have to make do with
SMOKY CONFINEMENT
Transmutation
Level: Sorcerer/wizard 6
Components: V, S, F
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Target: Creature touched
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
At your touch, your foe dissipates into a thick smoke, which flows smoothly into the receptacle you have prepared.
You transform the subject into smoke or gas, which is then stored inside the focus. The subject remains trapped within the focus, unaware and ageless. If the focus is ever broken or opened, the victim resumes his normal form in the same space as the focus.
Focus: A tiny receptacle, such as a bottle or vase, of crystal or a similar material worth at least 100 gp. The receptacle must be able to be sealed.

>>19452510
Right. Trap his ass with Auror magic, D&D magic, Time magic, and regular ol' steel cables. This asshole's in the bag lads.
>>
>>19452510
This seems good for Rei, assuming he's just going to keep standing around.
>>
>>19452504
I'd say our hands are tied.
Plus we don't even know if the Mirror will work or not, and now seems the best time to try it out.
>>
>>19452534
Best wait until:
A. Ahriman's pissed off back to his home,
B. Virtun's had a chat to Lind,
C. He's alone.

Even if we have our justifications, I think attacking a (from their perspective) bystander would make the Gods upset at us.

Come to think of it, ask Ahriman in a smug/smarmy tone whether he's enjoying the show so far. Then, tell him to leave this world.
>>
>>19452466
"No. It is not. It never was..."

Bundle him up in physical restraints, get restraining spells and Emitters on him, and get him on board the Al'Kesh.

Another one down.. Now for another issue.

"Ahriman, I really think it'd be a good idea for you to quietly leave once Lind lets you up. Friendly advice, of course. We have this problem well in hand... And watch out for bird daemons cackling Just As Planned. We don't need you batshit crazy, m'kay?"

Belay calls for the Mirror for right now. We need to do that under more controlled circumstances and a LOT more wards than we have right now. Easy lads. We'll get our shot.
>>
>>19452551
Tell him that we're testing a theory that moving Brett out of his host universe will mean that he no longer exudes any influence on the canon.
And if that theory is true, that means that that portal is about to close.
So unless he wants to hang around here with these lovely ladies, it might be wise for him to go home.
...Until the next time another rift appears and we will probably wind up crossing paths.
Again.
>>
>>19452565
You're probably right, call off the Mirror for now.
Still, get the asshole contained.

>>19452568
Nooo! Information too sensitive to tell to Canon natives! Be more quiet about other universes!
But we can tell him that now would be a good time to gtfo, yes.
>>
>>19452551
You know I had a thought why not ghost bottel Ahriman intill we have put the chaos cannon to rights? That would keep him from making trouble for us later and keep us from killing a cannon important character.
>>
>>19452577
He is beyond our means to contain.
>>
>>19452577
I'd ask for Lind and Bell's permission before trying that, and do it if they gave us the okay.
After all, this is their Chaos incursion to fight off as well.
>>
>>19452466
Good game. Game over for today.
New game when?
>>
Did the Al'Kesh that was damaged get fixed yet?
And have the Zombie Hunters and Dystopian troops deployed to the Nekomi Tech campus to find the person sending out those transpace messages?
>>
>>19452551

"I don't like the ending. But I suppose fair is fair..." Ahriman murmurs. "I managed to fool you once. It seems twice was not to be. Will there be a third time? We shall see."

>>19452493
"She's free," the Avatar says, in response to the question. Ahriman turns to stare intensely at him.

"The magic pouring from you... From that blue gate..." he murmurs. "It repulses me at the same time it makes me want to dissect it completely."

"Naturally," the Avatar states. "The magic of Virtue is the polar opposite of your Warp Sorcery from what I know."

"One day, those secrets too will be mine," Ahriman whispers. The Avatar levels his gaze at him.

"If that day comes, and I hope it will, then you will find the knowledge to be far more than you can bear," the Avatar whispers. He then smiles.

"I appreciate you fixing the system errors with Keiichi and Belldandy," Lind begins to say. "But I can't allow this man to leave. Heaven wants answers. It will have them."
>>
>>19452653
Can it have answers without killing him?
Even if he's a wicked person, killing Demons isn't a good idea. Could start a war and all that.
Besides, we don't know who, if anyone, he's paired with. Could be dangerous.
>>
As TC is hauled off, Rei seems to whimper and go catatonic. Skuld looks at him as one might an injured puppy.

Autosage means we're done for today. Next thread tomorrow at 8 if all goes well.
>>
>>19452653
"I'm sorry, Ms. Lind, but we cannot allow interference with Ahriman's return to where he is supposed to be.
"We can provide you with answers, if that's all you want. And...quite honestly, I am surprised. For a celestial computing system that is supposed to describe all of existence in this universe, that the answers have not already been extracted from us.
"I suppose the damage to Yggdrasil simply prevents it."
>>
>>19452653
And here comes the distasteful part of enforcing the boundaries between canons.

We cannot allow Heaven to capture Ahriman. Not only would they become meta-aware (if they're not already, although I doubt it considering their ignorance of SUEs) but Ahriman might actually be able to pull some crafty shit. A!MG is not known for cunning individuals.
>>
>>19452681
gg
>>
>>19452653
Lets first put him in a solid containment first. Then we can negotiate about information and custody.
>>
>>19452689
I'd honestly prefer to keep them in the dark. They're very powerful, and they might consider journeying to other universes to gain an unbeatable edge over hell in gathering souls.

We either have to capture Ahriman or somehow convince him to head home and stay there, although neither of those are likely. I think he's going to be a recurring character.
>>
>>19452761
We can provide some answers, and be necessarily vague with others.
Just because Heaven thinks that they've gotten the answers to their questions, doesn't mean that they have the complete answers.
If anything, the manga and TV series show just how fallible is this version of Heaven.
>>
Archived.

And just to note; a potential plan is to trade Ahriman's release for US giving them answers.

>>19452783
We can pick out what we tell them and how, while Ahriman would try something, or just dump everything on them just to make our lives miserable.

He *would* troll us like that. It would amuse him so.
>>
>>19452810
Thats why we insist on secure containment first. Also i doubt that we will need to be that secretive, heaven (in what i've read) seemed more interested in keeping it's own affairs inorder then expanding or something.
>>
You know, we could use the knowledge of Urd's location plus some information as a trade for Ahriman's release.

Just saying.
>>
>>19452948
I think you've read wrong then.
Heaven and Hell are all kinds of competitive and both are always searching for new demographics.
