You are Gerald Deflynn, and you've just wined and dined with your girlfriend Eri. You come back to base only to be called to a meeting.

"Alright, guys, listen up." Vince addresses you seriously.
"There are three thing we need to discuss."

"One, upkeep. This hasn't been a real issue yet, since our teams barely a week old, but it's going to start affecting us. Between keeping the base running, all of us fed, and keeping the zoids in tip top shape, we're looking at about 3,000 credits every month."

You groan inwardly. That's more than you've brought in on your last 2 battles after repairs.

(cont.)
>>
>>19461500
"Second, we need to start paying you guys."
You all look at one another. Thinking about it, you've only gotten any money from the side jobs you've taken on. "We're still in the Minors, below, even. But I want everyone to start getting paid every battle, win or loose. For right now, I'm thinking 500 creds a piece. That includes Eri too."

>Comment?
>>
>>19461500
Wait, people actually try to make money off of Zoid battling in D rank? The main purpose of that is to get your name out there, show your skills to potential clients if you work freelance and to get to the ranks that actually pay.

Just looking at it statistically, for the pilots involved it can really easily be a negative sum game assuming that your Zoid takes a reasonable amount of damage.

>>19461553
Sure, that works, we'll scale it up once we get into the higher ranks.
>>
>>19461553
Suggest that we start taking side jobs for the team with 75% going to the team and the rest being split between the members of the job, This would exclude non-members who would receive their cut prior to deductions. Doing this once a month would cover most of our upkeep.

"Money's money." Vince states dryly. "You guy's need to at least get a little reward for your efforts. You never know when jobs can dry up, so it's at least some piece of mind knowing you have a steady income. This brings me to my last subject."

He turns on the screen, with a number of teams being listed.

"Who is our next opponents?" he says, scrolling over the teams yours can challenge.
"I'll give everyone a moment to consider. A team with an X beside it can't be challenged right now."

Good idea by Vince. The guy signing checks stays in charge. Even if it's only a little money.

Also good to see you again ZM!

On the choices. It really depends how we want to skin this onion. Are we looking for money or fame? Do we want to get better quickly and recklessly? Or slower and with less risk?

Paladin or Tiger Fang catch my eye. They've lost before but they have a lot of experience. Just the act of fighting them should teach our team a thing or two. Going after either would be the fast route though.

Note: I suggest we avoid Raptor's and possibly Kodiak.

Wait weird idea...we have enough for a 4v4. Which means we can do two 2v2s....could we have say Gerald and Vince square off against Raptors 2v2 and then have Audrey and *snaps fingers forgetting Sinker Pilot's name* that guy fight one of what we think are a weaker team 2v2? In the same time period?

It'd be good for us and Vince to get a bit more side by side practice given the two of use are likely the best Zoid pilots on the team. It'd also be good for our other pilots to get out their own their own without us carrying them. Gives us a chance to take more a coach perspective for a bit. Might raise the entire teams capacity quickly...
>>
>>19461850
I'm guessing we're number 87.

I'm guessing the first number is their ranking, and then it's wins and losses.

We don't need to do that much research on anyone lower in the rankings Hammer Team(X), we can probably rip them apart through brute force of a Zaber, Hound Soldier and a Red Horn.

We already know about Team Raptor so we can cross them off.

Tiger Fang probably has Zabers or other Cat types lying about, I think Paladin has a Shield Liger and some other stuff but we're not going to challenge them right now.

My personal votes would be to investigate Amazon, Red Dragon and Kodiak. Their names aren't descriptive of the Zoids they pilot, unless Kodiak has 3 bear fighters, and I'd be willing to give them a shot but I'd rather go after Tiger Fang and Paladin until we have more drilling and team work in.

Also if we consider going up against Raptor it'll be us and Vince so we should drill together more.
>>
>>19461931
To add to that. Red Horn + Hound Soldier might fair very well against the Raptor siblings.

The big problem with risks is going to be cost. The riskier our matches the more we need to be ready to take side jobs to pay for eventual repairs/rearming. It'd be a busy ass weak if we tried for 2 2v2s....although we'd be able to practice against eachother in mock fights as well.
>>
>>19461850
>Sweet baby jesus, they all have at least 70 wins, only single digit loses and draws wtf!

Please tell me I'm reading this wrong. Please.
>>
>>19461965
The first number is their ranking, the second number is wins, the third one is losses. Apparently there are no draws or they simply aren't counted.
>>
>>19461991
in an event of a draw or other similar no contests, a rematch is schedualed and the teams fight again. so yeah, no draws

also forgive the sloppiness on seperating rank from battle records
>>
>>19462023
Yeah, Paladin has a Shield Liger, Tom the kid who we were with when we dug the tunnel, his brother said he was on the Palanquin or something team, which is the Paladin team.

I'd rather not go up against him for two reasons, Shield Ligers are dangerous and he has a fucking DCS-J which is really dangerous and means he's a really good pilot. Also it might make Audrey sad to have to fight against her new friend.
>>
>>19461960
A solid assessment. Let's definitely put Kodiak on the list for bringing specs up. We need two more choices though.

ZM Can we challenge two different teams to 2v2s? Say have one battle in 2-3 days and one in 5-6 days? Still mentally chewing on that idea. Seeing how it tastes.
>>
>>19461931
ah, sorry.

You can only challenge one team at a time, as accordance to the regulations set by the ZBC. You got plenty of spare zoids, though, so even if one or two got damaged badly, you could still try challenging someone else to make back some money
>>
Wait, which of these teams have we fought already? Stone Age I remember but what were the others?
>>
>>19461991
>>19462023
Ohhhh. Okay. That is MUCH less intimidating now.

I'd say let's look up info on Kodiak, Amazon, and Red Dragon. Basically what >>19461960 said.

Rick's team, Sand Strikers.

They had to disband due to losses incured.
>>
>>19462081
Please ZM, at our ranking you don't make money through Zoid Arena Combat stuff, you do that so people hear your name and you can eventually move up to real prize money. You get real money by doing jobs with salvage, delicious delicious salvage.

>>19462099
We took down the Sand Strikers, who no longer exist we beat them so hard, and recruited Rick out of that. Then we took out Stone Age with MOLGA EXPLOSIVE DRILL TACTICS.
>>
>>19462081
Is there a delay between games though? Like say we 2v2 Raptors in 2-3 days. Immediately challenge another team after the game. Is that an option?

A rotation in general may be a good way to keep challenge high, keep costs low (only a couple zoids broke at a time), keep dangerous zoids repaired in the stable, and let people get some rest...

hmm

>>19462065
Audruy having fun dueling her little boyfriend is also an option. It could either push them together, or apart.

A somewhat cynical reason to push them together is that he'll have a stake in her well being and lives close by. If trouble comes knocking for Audrey a *snicker* Paladin in Shiny Liger coming to our base could be really useful.
>>
>>19462144
I do want them close together, partially because I care for Audrey and partially because being able to call in a Shield Liger would be nice, and he has potential connections to prototype Zoid making. But I'd rather not force it this quick and go after a team called PALADIN yet, that's just begging for an ass whooping.
>>
I'd like to take Rick with us in the next battle, just to see how his piloting meshes with our strategies. We probably shouldn't take on anyone too high above us so... I'm thinking Road Hogs, Mospeeda and Sand Stinger. In that order depending on what info we can get.
>>
>>19462144
After issuing or accepting a challenge, you can request aditional time for preperation, up to five days from when the battle has been aproved. The team being challenged has priority in terms of time, but the challenging team can ask for more days to prepare
>>
>>19462177
or an ASS whooooooping...am I rite? Am I rite guys?

*crickets in the Tavern*
I'm saying Paladins are fey.
>>
>>19462177
Yeah, I'd like our team to have a bit more XP before we take on anyone with more than 3 wins and less than 2 losses.
>>
>>19462184
Hmm I'm going to have to agree. A shakedown on Rick seems like a good idea.

Sadly I think that means we should avoid dusting off our Redhorn for this. We can do that next fight.

>>19462124
I'm not feeling a better plan. Let's have Rick tell us what he remembers about Sand Stingers. Maybe we go after them maybe not.
>>
>>19462229
I agree but would allow a potential exception for Team Raptor, we know their machines, we know their pilots and it's 2v2 which means us in the Red Horn and Vince in the Houndsoldier can counter them pretty well.
>>
>>19462251
Why wouldn't we use the Red Horn for the battle just because Rick's in it?
>>
>>19462177
So I'm seeing votes for examining Road Hogs, Mospeeda and Sand Stingers.

Is that okay?
>>
>>19462305
Thats fine with me.
>>
>>19462297
I mean if we go for the lower class teams we should keep that ace up our sleeves a little longer. If the enemy thinks we are gonna Molga and we suddenly have a Red Horn...
>>
>>19462305
One at a time, this is just for the first battle. If the Road Hogs seem like a suitable test run for Rick then we could examine different teams.
>>
>>19462327
I doubt that it'll matter very much. Anyone who bothers to do any digging on us will probably find out that we have it. And with shit like the Shield Liger DCS-J and the Godos Tiga around, I'd say the old Red Horn probably is far down the line of "ZOMG amazing" zoids.
>>
>>19462305
I don't see that much need to investigate them much, we can pound through them with superior piloting, brute force and superior Zoids. Investigate the people who are an actual threat.
>>
>>19462363
You make a solid point. Though just cause they know we have a Red Horn doesn't mean they know it's ready for battle. It also doesn't mean they know the Molgos pilot is suddenly going to be in it.

If they work off our previous fight data switching from a Molgos to well anything is going to really mess with any plans they have set up.

On the other hand we need to shake down the Red Horn anyway.

>>19462351
Let's do this.

"Let's take a look at the Road Hogs team," you suggest.

"All right, let's see...huh?" he says in slight confusion.

"What is it?"

"Good question." he says. "I've never seen this type of zoid.

You look at the schematics that come up. Guess the 'Hog' wasn't a misnomer. The Warthog zoid looks fairly modern, but not exactly cutting edge.

"Lesse... seems the Hog War, heh, is a zoid being manufactured by a security company. They're meant to be affordable but effective alternatives to some of the more high performance zoids on the market."

Seems to be a team of three, all the zoids being the same make.

What is it armed with? Other than that it looks pretty generic though kinda heavily armored.
>>
>>19462470
Less weight, same maneuverability, 1 less armor and 1 more speed. Depending on the armament that thing is comparable to the Redhorn.
>>
>>19462539
That baby doesn't look anywhere near as armed as a Red Horn. I see one gun on top and some tusks, maybe it has something in the mouth, but it doesn't look that armed.
>>
only it's main turret and razor tusks.

It can mount either a gatling cannon or AZ beam cannon

Alrighty, you'll look at team Amazon now.

"...you certainly picked an interesting one." Vince says as he brings up the information. "This team's made up of foreigners. Seems their from some island nation called Rhegani. "

You go over their stat's listed. "What are those?"

"These are the main defense model used by their military, if I'm remembering correctly. They're armored light for a medium sized zoid, but they're fast and manueverable. They look to be traveling mercenaries, too, so they'll likely be well coordinated.

(Cont.)
>>
>>19462683
I don't know. Vince, Audrey and ourselves could take the Road Hogs, sure. But testing Rick with them seems like it could be a risk. I'd rather the test be against more of a sure things. That's why my other two suggestions were Mospeeda and the Sand Stingers.

You squint a bit. "Hey, V, what's that last zoid there?"

"Hm?" he looks and scrolls a bit, bringing up the image. "ZX-278 Gatling Tiger. Seem's like its a new generation zoid."

"It's a Gul Tiger." Eri says. You eye her.

"A Gul Tiger? Weren't all the existing ones destroyed?"

"The profile's to similar to be a coincidence. The weapon's are different, but I'd gues the design was based of the Gul Tiger, maybe the remains of one."

Vince does some quick double checking. "No charged particle weapons, in any case."

>Thoughts?
>>
>>19462791
>>19462789
Does the Askari have burrowing capabilities?

Gul Tiger was a very fast and agile zoid, so the knockoff probably retains those attributes. And if they took out the charged particle cannon for better guns then the Gul Tiger's main weakness, limited weapons aside from the CPC, has been removed. I kinda want a Gatling Tiger now.
>>
>>19462791
I'm not that scared of it without the CPC, it just has some nice gatlings, but it's still really damn strange to find one of those running around, that taken with the freaky Ants makes me want to avoid this fight for now, there's too many unknowns.
>>
>>19462867
They can dig, to entrench themselves, and probably burrow under sand, but burrowing in even the softest dirt is not something they are capable of
>>
What happened? All the people who were saying "look higher in the rankings" seem to have gone silent.

We're a 2-0 team and one of our victories was pretty much the result of a gimmick that we only knew to use because we had seen that team fight before hand. Rick has fought the Sand Stingers, yes? So he can give us some info one them? Then let's check out Mospeeda or the Coyote so we can check out Rick without any real risk should he preform poorly in an unfamiliar team.
>>
>>19463059
I was convinced over to playing it safe this game. I'd only really suggest a "Go big" against Raptors and that'd be 2v2.

I'm voting we check Turtle Power. It's more in between the last two teams and may be more our "weight class". They are also 2-0 and I get this odd feeling the team has 4 members...call it a hunch.
>>
>>19463093
X beside the name means they can't be challenged right now.
>>
>>19463115
Oh well dur hur hur....

Let's just go with Mospeeda then. We are prob making this complicated.
>>
Was about to write up the Red Dragon team, unless you guys want to pick something else.

Team Hammer and team Turtle Power are going to have a battle, so neither are challengable. Stone Age just lost, so they can't be challenged until 2 days afterwards, due to regulations.
>>
>>19463149
Eh if you started just go with Red Dragon.

Honestly I think Hogs are our go to punching pigs.
>>
>>19463149
I'd go for Red Dragon, we'll be up against them in the near future and I like knowing who is strong and we have to specifically plan for rather than who we can brute force to victory.

You look at one last team, Red Dragons.

Seems to be a team of Reddlers, though they also have a combat Merda to run interference on some occasions.

"Who'd they loose to?" you ask.

"Team Raptor." Vince replies. "It was a weighted match, with 3 of them versus the Ray siblings. They lost their Merda pretty quickly, and after a long battle of atrition, well, I'll just let this little clip do the talking."

He brings up a video he favorited, and you see a Redler diving for Adam. The custom Raptor flips sideways, at the last instant, and not only avoids the blade, but catches the flying zoid with it's leg talons, and slams it into the ground.

"I also found versions with funny music affects set to it." he says with a grin.

>What do?
>>
>>19463268
Funny music while pondering.

I say we just fuck up some Hogs. Max team size we can manage. We want Rick to get experience as a priority.
>>
>>19463268
Watch the versions with funny music attached.

We could probably take them if we chose the right load out.The Merda is made of tissue paper and if I went Gordos I could probably blow them out of the sky.

But for now we should probably challenge the Hogs, I'm pretty certain we can win and it'll give Rick a good chance to get some Arena experience with us.
>>
Is there any footage of the Hogs in battle?
>>
I say we take on the hogs.

But first we should look up their schematics if we can. Or watch any zoid fights they've had previously.

Are we allowed to do that?

You consider challenging the Road Hogs, and ask if there is any videos of them. He brings up a battle with Mospeeda.

"Oh, hey," Rick pipes up, "racing Molgas."

Everyone slowly turns their head.
"What."

"I'm serious, there's a circuit that has Molgas modified for speed, a lot of the top racers got started there."

Huh. Well, on to the battle. The Molgas certainly are much faster, easily outrunning the Hogs. However, the opposing team makes good use of the terrain, which the Hog Wars handle splendidly, and herd the Molgas into their firing zone. One more ambitious pilot charges strait at the other formation. They return fire, which the warthog jumps to evade. They fire at it while still airborn, but a quick jerk to the side leaves it clear as it lands and smashes into a Molga with its tusk. The impact is quite tremendous, flinging the caterpillar high into the air. You'll have to avoid that if-

"Stop!" Adrey suddenly shouts. The unexpected outburst makes the rest of you jump. "Go back." Vince complies and reminds the footage. "There." She says, the video paused where the Hog War dodged in the air. "Do you see that?"

You look closer, and make out a small flare of blue on the side of the zoid. Eri is the first to say something.
"Thrusters! They have thrusters built into their sides."

They could make sudden turns and evasive movements with those.

>What do?
>>
>>19463672
...team of racing Molgas...ooooh...hmmm...yuuum

*cough*

Hogs sound like they are designed to get rough and tumble with those tusks. They could be a ton of fun to fight.

The speed Molgas sound like they tried to outpace them but couldn't manage it well enough to avoid getting dragged into a melee. We could try to out gun them and avoid melee that way.

Winning a melee brawl with the Hogs may be an uphill battle and thus worth avoiding.

If they are test pilots we can assume they utilize really tight formations. Alpha strike one hog and their zone control should go down exponentially.
>>
>>19463789
If it's Rick us and Vince we shouldn't have to worry much about melee. Also, the Red Horn has anti air capabilities. If they want to fly around we'll give them a bit of a surprise.
>>
>>19463875
they're more dash thrusters than anything. they cant really fly
>>
>>19463921
Seems pretty dead right now. I suggest we just plan to go after Hogs and start this up another time ZM.
>>
>>19463985

>>
bump before bed
>>
If everyone is uncertain about the Road Hogs we could try the Coyote team with their 3 Command Wolves. We watched Stone Age take them down.

That said, I think Rick will do fine versus the Hogs. However, I would like to know how the gun with the longest range on the Redhorn compares to the gun with the longest range on the hogs. I have a tentative strategy worked out but it relies on out ranging the Hogs at the start of the battle.
>>
>>19466418
Red Horn's primary weapons are the triple barreled linear beam cannon and surface to surface missile pod. It also has an 80mm AA double barreled beam cannon. If what ZM said earlier is true, that their only long range weapon (the hogs that is) is a beam cannon or gatling cannon, then we probably have as much ranged firepower on our Red Horn alone.

The real thing to be careful about is that they're well armored and apparently able to do some special maneuvers with those thrusters. We'll have to watch out for that.
>>
You seem to be set on battling the Hogs. Vince also tells you that they have four pilots and zoids, you can make this a 4 on 4 if you want.

>Battlemode? List any conditions you'd like set
>>
>>19468835
I say we go 4v4. Lets us test Rick out, and if he doesn't manage to pull his weight (don't get me wrong I fully expect him to do great) then we have 3 people left to pick up the slack instead of 2.
>>
>>19468847
Crap, I wasn't expecting a 4 on 4. Still, I guess that works fine.
>>
>>19468912
Honestly, the more people there are the less impact any one person will have, which is good if we're testing out an uncertain new member.
>>
>>19468835
Could we get a fairly large open area for a battlefield? One where the Sinker could make good use of its speed and maneuverability?

Not really familiar with battle modes.
>>
>>19468933
You can request specific areas. Don't worry about the actual battlemode, just tell me what conditions and restrictions you're looking for.

Also, it hasn't been decide if it will be 4v4 or 3v3 yet
>>
>>19468963
Voting 4v4, large arena (not that any of the places we've been in have been small really, they're all big enough to allow for fast, maneuverable zoids to make use of their speed), if possible flat and featureless. Those hogs are clearly meant for rough terrain, while our zoids are not. If we face them in their element we'll be at a disadvantage, whereas flat ground or sand will be neutral to both teams.

GODOSES ONLY, NO ITEMS, FLAT PLATEAU, FINAL DESTINATION.

>>19468984
alright, 4 on 4 it is.

One last thing, what's your loadout going to be?

Vince will go in his Houndsoldier, but the rest of you have some leeway. Rick is likely best in his Sinker though.
>>
>>19469045
I think we should take either the Gordos OR the Red Horn. The Red Horn is comparable to the Warthogs, though with more firepower, and similar speed. The Gordos trades some speed for armor, sensors, and of course, the fuckoff giant railguns.

Though you should probably get other people's opinions before going with just my preference ZM.
>>
>>19469074
Gordos vs Redhorn really depends on how large our arena is. The Gordos is basically an artillery platform, it's not so great at fighting up close. So if we use the Gordos there has to be plenty of space between us and the enemy so that our teammates can run interference while we pick our shots.
>>
>>19469128
Yeah. To be fair though, a Hound Soldier and Zaber Fang are pretty good for running interference and keeping the hogs away from us, and Rick's Sinker is a great harasser. So yeah, either Red Horn or Gordos would work, I think. Especially the Gordos if we get a larger than average battleground.
>>
>>19469150
I wonder if the Hogs have their own artillery platform?

Anyway, Rick should be in the Sinker cause that's what he knows and just one of his missiles did enough damage to the Gordos to piss Eri off. And I don't think the Hogs have point defense like the Gordos does.

Audrey should probably go with the Zaber. Despite it's speed and maneuverability the Demantis is just too fragile.
>>
>>19469198
Speaking of the Demantis, I think we should break down the Demantis into its component parts and sell them all to several different people. We do NOT want the organization we took her from recognizing that we have her zoid.
>>
I'm not really sure about the breakdown of Gordos vs Red horn. Gordos has the strong radar systems right? We won't really need those if we get that kind of field. If Red Horn has more direct fire I think that'll prove more useful.

Audrey is going to be in the Zaber Fang yeah?

Actually...could we get the Sinker set up to be a flying command platform? Radar and such? Allow it to play keep away spotter and the like? It'd allow Rick to utilize his racing skills to the best of their ability while avoiding getting dragged into an out and out engagement.

Combine that with a missile zoid maybe we could have a long range one two combo. (Idea totally from Battletech)
>>
Just realized that apart from the Gordos/Redhorn all the zoids on our team outclass the Hogs in the speed department.
>>
>>19469227
Sinkers can't really fly, so much as hover. maximum altitude would still be within jumping hieght
>>
>>19469227
The Gordos has more direct firepower; the railcannons on its sides are the most powerful weapon we have. However, it's not as good in rough terrain as the Red Horn, nor as maneuverable. They both have about the same point defense weapons though, while the Gordos has hella sensors.
>>
>>19469243
Oh that makes me sad. I think we need to get Rick in a new machine then.

>>19469252
huh I was under the impression the Red Horn had hella fire power.

Gordos, Sinker, Hound Soldier, Zaber sounds like what we will wind up using.

Gordos as our gun center. HS and Zaber as hard flanks playing hit and move to keep them in our firing arc/keep them off us. Sinker playing dedicated backstabber.
>>
>>19469227
I don't know that the Sinker has the size to carry a sensor suit. Also I'm not sure if we have the time to make those mods if it is since we're the challenging team this time. Also, I don't think we own a zoid that could be easily modified into a missile platform without a major cash expenditure.

>>19469252
Redhorn is faster than the Gordos too.

>>19469236
Could always use our Molga. Then all our zoids would be faster and one of them could cloak and ambush.
>>
I'm straight up voting Red Horn for this one. It just seems the better choice, the radar of the Godos isn't going to be worth much to us anyway. Hell, couldn't we put Eri in the Godos on the edge and get what little benefit it'd give anyway? We did that last time right? And then we're not using a zoid that's practically useless up close against a team that is really good at fighting up close. I realize we shouldn't be letting them close the gap anyway, but on the off chance they do, I'd like the chance to maybe fend them off long enough for back up.

Tripcode to identify my vote/opinion
>>
>>19469286
The Redhorn DOES have great firepower, but none of it's guns have the range of the Gordos rail cannons. That said, I actually don't know which has the stronger primary weapon. But if we did get into a close quarters fight I'd prefer we were in the Redhorn.
>>
>>19469300
Problem is it's an official 4 on 4 battle and Eri is our worst pilot. Also, I'm not sure she's licensed yet Didn't she fail?
>>
Seems Redhorn vs Gordos is our big debate right now.

ZM can we get a side by side?

(I previously voted Gordos but I'm leaning more toward Red Horn again now. I mean did we spend all that money on it for nothing?)
>>
>>19469309
the power rating goes a bit like this:
Hound Buster Cannon>Triple Linear Cannon>Railgun. The difference isn't that big, though. in terms of range and accuracy, it's actually reversed
>>
>>19469322
Don't forget that thanks to Gerald's father it's actually still possible to upgrade it further when we get the funds.
>>
>>19469321
Last I checked we're allowed to have support from off the battlefield. As in, she's not a participant, she's just on comms telling us what's on radar. Or maybe I'm hallucinating again.
>>
>>19469329
So Redhorn sounds like our best bet for a pretty balanced out heavy hitting Zoid. Let's just go with it then!

>>19469335
I have not in fact forgotten. I actively look forward to us managing to pull that one off.
>>
>>19469329
Rail has better range and accuracy against enemies that can turn on a dime thanks to thrusters? Also, the Hogs 4th COULD be an entirely different zoid (which could be an artillery platform).
>>
>>19469329
Huh, really? Wow. Okay, in that case let's just just the Red Horn.
>>
>>19469363
Nah, they're all Hog Wars. they're sort of a proof of concept team.
>>
Ok, Red Horn, then? I'm guessing you want Audrey in her Zabre and Rick in the Sinker.
>>
>>19469379
Yep, it'd be a complete waste of Audrey to put her in the Gordos.
>>
>>19469379
Yes, that's the plan.

Now as to strategy, what's the plan?
>>
>>19469379
....no.... that's just what they'll expect us to do. Put Audrey in the Gordos and Rick in the Molga! THEY WILL NEVER SEE IT COMING!

Seriously though, yes, Audrey in the Zaber and Rick in the Sinker.
>>
>>19469387
I've got it, we put Audrey in the Gordos, Rick in the Cannon Tortoise, we pilot the Demantis and throw Vince in the Sinker. It's brilliant!

In seriousness, us in Red Horn, Vince in the Hound, Audrey in Zaber and Rick in Sinker.
>>
>>19469385
Need to know the battlefield to really get into planning but again I suggest we:

Have us as a stationary center. Have Audrey and Vince act as our hard flanks. One on each side a bit out. They collapse in if they come at us or otherwise play keep away. Trying to herd them into good shooting lines.

Rick is where I want to get interesting. I think we need to develop a style where he plays hard core keep away. He sticks to one side where he can collapse toward us if needed.

If they go for us though he swings in behind them. Just the act of having a Sinker behind them is going to have a psychological threat and effect their capacity to come in. We want Rick to stay there, just outside of effective range. A distance where they can't shoot him and he can't shoot them but just out.

This way he can stay there. Ready to commit or disengage. Floating like a gnat with rocket launcher. Once the enemy hard commits he comes in from the rear to hit them on a pass and move back out to his previous position.

So his role would become psychological and advantageous backstabber. Something that would really compliment his skills as a racer without pulling him into a head to head.
>>
ok, everyone. some appointments have come up, and I must leave the house now. I probably won't be back until late tonight. If the threads still here, I'll continue, if not, I'll make a part 2.

Thanks for putting up with my terrible pacing.
>>
>>19469482
See you ZM, we'll keep this alive!
>>
>>19469435
>>19469435
If I could make a suggestion, when the battle starts our teammates shouldn't immediately move to engage or get into formation. I think the Linear cannon has a better range than the guns the Hogs have (not sure though, confirmation?). I want us to start just outside of the LC's maximum range, that way we can take a few shots at them while they move to engage us. Soften them up a bit.
>>
>>19469514
I'd agree with that. No reason to really move.

Further if we want to use my "Rick the Spy" plan he should be first to go out of position and do so by flying really out there and turning back in.
>>
>>19469606
The way I see it we should focus the opening shots on a single Hog on the outside of the RH formation, preferably focusing on a specific area of his armor. Then Rick can strafe that zoid and hopefully hit the weakened armor section with his missiles or rockets to take one of them down in the first minute or so of battle. 4 on 3 gives him a much better chance of pulling off a backstab and it cuts down on the damage our zoids will have to tank trading blows with these guys.
>>
>>19471635
Guys. I'm not saying we should use the Delta Formation.....

But we should use the Delta Formation.

Well shit. I think we've found Gerald's endgame zoid.

wikipedia'd Delta formation...we should not use Delta formation.

>>19472676
Needs less Dakka, more Molga.

I'm entirely okay with this.

THIS.....is Gerald's endgame Zoid
>>
>>19473543
We'd need a whole fucking crew to operate it... I LOVE IT!
>>
Some of those huge Mobile Base zoids could be thing we could look into.
Zoids so big they have movie theater entertainment centers
>>
>>19473574
Actually there was a point where we could have bought a mobile carrier to ferry us around, but we used the money on repairing the Redhorn and upgrading the garage. Still, if we bust our ass on missions after this battle we might be able to get that amount of money again via salvage. It'd be a lot quicker since we have the Gustav to carry stuff now. Although now that I think about it, we'd probably spend the money on upgrading the Redhorn again to scare the crap out of the next few D class teams we fight.
>>
>>19473869
I thought that the least expensive mobile base was like, over $100,000? And it would have been not very good, at that. Or maybe I'm misremembering.

I guess people only care when I post Dakka. Oh well, I can dig it
>>
>>19474932
Oh I'm just not one for things that look like sea horses.

And while Dakka is nice I must admit the fun part of Gerald, to me, is that he's a...well dick tactics kind of guy. The kind that'll take the weaker seeming zoid with the nasty trick and knock someone out with it. The kind of person that appreciates why daggers are useful things to have and think people are silly for always wanting a showy sword.

I can get behind this line of reasoning sir. If only there were more types with that kind of functionality. Most Zoids are pretty straight forward in the wreck shit catagory.

Guess ZM never came back.
One last bump I guess.
>>
>>19480384
Don't worry, ZM usually takes up to 13:00 4chan time to return. He'll arrive yet.
>>
I'm sure he'll be back.... any moment now.
