Lewin and Fellwind look at you closely, watching for your reaction.
"As you wish." You say. "I. .I will miss you, you know?"
Lewin nods, but he looks. . like he feels guilty.
"I'm. . not good at this." He said. "Not the. . Not the troll fighting, or the demons, or sneaking. . "
He shook his head.
>>

I am grateful for all your help.
>>
"I'm grateful for all your help." You say, and then, having made sure Lewin had healed properly- any wounds left are only superficial- you leave the cabin, going back to the deck.
"Lady." Ell says, examining the packet. "We have.. quite a few seeds. More than we probably should have taken, actually. Too many to plant in that troll, anyway."
>>

Makepocket dimession for these seeds
>>
>>19482039
We will set up a garden somewhere below deck, and plant them there.
>>
>>19482039
Well I'm sure there are plenty of other things we could do with them. What would you suggest?
>>
>>19482039
Time to become Ishelda Magicseed and walk around the land planting them!
>>
>>19482039
They wont spoil, will they?
>>
"They won't spoil, will they?"
"No, they're fine as they are for years." He says. "But if . . well, anyone elven who knows what's what sees the seeds. .they won't be very happy about it."
"I'm sure there are plenty of other things we could do with them." You say. "What would you suggest?"
"I'm not very good at coming up with new ideas, but I was thinking we could plant them on the ship itself. We would have to tear down the sails, and it wouldn't be water capable anymore , but once the flowers bloom. . we won't need the Weave anymore. Ever."
>>
I suggest we see if we can find a place to make our home base. Maybe somewhere deserted that we can later build a land upon and rule over?
>>
rolled 93 = 93

Wait, has notLewin been an adventurer before? And Fellwind a soldier or something? Both should have been in many situations with higher risks before.

Anyways: I want some of the seeds implanted in the ship, we cannot always rely on the weave to power it. Besides I want it to become more magical and sentient somtime in the future. Be sure to do this in a way, that does not have them spread their seeds everywhere when they have grown enough.
>>
>>19482104
Can we pump them with magic to mature quickly or do we have to wait for them to grow?
>>
>>19482104
That seems like a great idea! I'm sure we will find a way to have the ship move on water through other, probably magical means if we ever need to.

Hey, does our ship have cannons? Maybe we should make some... out of oricharum, they would shoot offensive, amplified magic spells and could be controlled through the gauntlent (meaning that each and everyone one of them doesn't need to be personally manned and all of them can be controlled by one man.)
Do we have enough oricharum? Obviously they wont be pure oricarum, so we need some steel too.
>>

What about somewhere in wastelands if we could make this place safer it could work
>>
>>19482109
eh... lets not
Our ship is our HQ for now
>>
>>19482104
Wouldn't covering our ship in them make the elves even more unhappy? It's not exactly hiding them.
On the other hand, massive amounts of power for the ship, which we could draw upon to cast spells as well. And we could set the ship up with magic point defence lasers or magic missile tubes or a broadside of enchanted cannons or something and not give a shit about what the elves think.
>>
rolled 58 = 58

And try to change their appearance when they grow. We don't want everyone to immediatly see, what we did. (We can however say, that Galadriel's Light was our inspiration and that we changed some flowers because of that)
>>

GUYS LISTEN I HAVE IDEA LETS FUSE SHIP AND FLOWERS IF IT AGREES
>>
>>19482193
We can always say we just used our insane sorcery skills to summon them from another world or something.
They can't exactly do anything against that, can they?
>>
"Let's do it." You say, and he nods.
"With Raziel's help, she can summon an entire crew of spectres." He says. "Should speed things up."

He set down the massive bag from his shoulder- which, come to think of it, wasn't in the plan. He'd simply arrived from the prism's orichalum warehouse with it. .

You open it up, and your eyes widen. Long, large spools of orichalum, strange, dusty tools, and various crystals sat there, and you have the feeling that he didn't exactly buy them.

"Well." Ell said, scratching his head. "I figured, while we were there. . ."
>>
rolled 44 = 44

We still have troll yes?
>>
rolled 7, 67, 96 = 170

>>19482214
Heh. Don't say anything.
We can't make cannons solely out of orichalum, we need some other materials, like steel or iron. We could just summon them from somewhere, couldn't we?
Right, since we're on the weave, lets summon a whole bunch of steel rods, enough to make a dozen of cannons (each will have oricarum parts to make them easier to enchant and better at magic spells)

[rolling 3d100 as not to re-roll if the first roll fails. It becomes bothersome to just make empty posts will rolls]
>>
>>19482214
Eh, whats one more robbery?
>>
>>19482325
It's a robbery. Stealing stuff is wrong. We were only borrowing the seeds from the oppressive elven conspiracy.
>>
>>19482265
>Kell loves hiding inside of Grayson's saddlebags. If he's not mentioned, that's probably where he is.

"Heh."

You raise your arm, and close your eyes. You reach out with your magic, and much like you had before, you will some steel rods into existence. You feel the standard drain of energy, but you realize something.

When you had just arrived on this world, some months ago, you brought a vial into existence. Just a simple, simple glass vial, made for holding troll venom.
And making all of these steel rods didn't tire you out as much as the vial did.

You're getting stronger.

"What are these for, lady?" Ell asks, looking at the rods.
"Cannons." You say. "Ones you'll need to enchant."
He looks down at them. . then shrugs. "I can do that. Especially with the new tools I. . borrowed. It's going to be similar to the bracers I used to make, just. . amplified. Do you want them to be Fire, Lightning, or Force?"
>>
rolled 27, 31, 36 = 94

>>19482368
Well make a dozen cannons for now, 6 on each side. Alternate between them.

Grab power from the weave and start making cannons, one at the time (make cannon, grab power, another cannon).

God damn. Good thing we're on the weave or else we would have become unconscious.

I have an idea for an awesome enchantment to use on a HQ/hideout. I call it Separation and Preservation. First we semi-separate an area from reality. When people try to enter that area they will be directed into two almost identical areas. One is the real area, where most thing work as normal. The second is a stasis replication of the original area, where every day is almost a replay of the previous day.

We will put controls on what enter each area. Unknown magic, people scrying, unauthorized people and their pets will be directed to the fake area. Everybody else, including wildlife will be directed to the real area, maintaining a regular ecosystem in the real area.

We can build a hideout in the real area, and possibly later, we can enlarge it and create our kingdom there.
>>
rolled 28 = 28

>>19482368
>Ones you'll need to enchant. Do you want them to be Fire, Lightning, or Force?
Why can't we do it? We have unlimited energy to work the enchantment and will soon have an unlimited battery to plug them into. Make them shoot electrical flame elementals which home into targets and are secretly half-angel, half-devil and half-rust monster or some shit.
>>
>>19482368
WE BUILD A LITTLE OF EACH!
>>
>>19482368
Hmm, Force is probably a good all round option, Lightning with its arcing properties might be effective against fleshy targets and obviously anything metal, and Fire burns stuff.

Could you inform me some more of various pros and cons of these options before I make a final decision?
>>
Force or Fire.
Force's good all-rounder while Fire cleanses.
>>
>>19482416
Those are some nice rolls you have there.
>>
Why do we even need to make one choice?
We're not making one cannon. Have all of those enchantments, different for each cannon.
That way we have all-round option
>>
rolled 16 = 16

>>19482411
Everyone is rerolling
>>
>>19482428
I don't know.
My idea was to make cannons out of material fused with orichalum. After we make them, we would enchant them. These cannons do not shoot cannon-balls at all, only spells.
>>
"That force/fire combination that was used was brutal. Could we get that?"
"Well. . I can try." He said.
"But just to be clear. . could you inform me more of the various pros and cons of these options before I make a final decision?"
"Well, uh, fire burns stuff." He says. "I'd guess it's best against... wooden things and buildings? Good for sieging a town, or razing something to the ground. Lightning is fast, accurate, but it's not very good against anything but people. Force is. . well, it's a lot more powerful than anything else, but the spell moves really slowly."

You reach for one of the cannons, ready to enchant them.
"No, no, Ishelda." Ell says. "I, uh, really have no clue how you do what you do, so if you do something weird with them, you could. . well, fu- mess up the entire ship with them."

You think about it for a bit. .
"Let's make a little of each." You say.
"We have twelve rods, so that means we can have four of each type." He says. "Although the magic drain might be more than the flowers generate, even in broad sunlight."

He shrugs. "I'll go talk with Raziel and Ezekiel; I'll see if Zeke knows anything about evocation that can help, and I'll have Raziel's undead start working on the Jormungandr. . while we're still flying. God, that's insane, come to think of it."
>>
>>19482491
"Insane? We haven't even gotten to the party yet" with a light cackle.
>>
>>19482491
You're on a flying ship independent of the weave, sailing with a Princess whose retinue consists of an archer, a swordsman, two bird wizards, a spider golem, a very polite bear, and you.

I don't think modifying the ship in flight is that insane in comparison. But if the insanity ever becomes too much for you feel free to visit be for a nice cup of tea.
>>
I'm really surprised at how accepting of necromancy Ell is, what with it being illegal and all.
>>
>>19482491
> "Although the magic drain might be more than the flowers generate, even in broad sunlight."

What if we imbue each of them with a crystal so that they hold some energy before needing to draw from the ship?
We will need more crystals. Lets go and buy 12 of them somewhere.
>>
>>19482491
>the magic drain might be more than the flowers generate, even in broad sunlight
That's why we have the giant crystal batteries to store excess power in which we won't need for flying any more once we're running on flower power. We don't need to fire the cannons constantly as we fly along.

>I, uh, really have no clue how you do what you do, so if you do something weird with them, you could. . well, fu- mess up the entire ship with them
Not really. We can enchant the cannons without effecting the ship at all and then just plug them into the orichalum power lines that are running all over the place. Plus our spells either pass or fail, we've never 'done something wierd'. You just don't want me to have my flying electric flaming rust elemental cannons.
>>
>>19482531
>Note how okay he was with stealing orichalum, crystals, AND the seeds.
>Also, necromancy isn't illegal, just very, very badly looked upon. Well, it is illegal in human lands and elven lands, but nowhere else.

"Insane? we haven't even gotten to the party yet!" You say, and try to cackle. . but what comes out is a girlish titter.
He blinks.
"I'm. . I'm going to go talk to the giant bird wizards now." He says, and turns promptly around.

"Master, I have been thinking." Bubbles says. "It may be possible for me to control the Jormungandr."
>>
>>19482554
"Elaborate."

Later ask Ell about putting crystals into the cannons
>>
>>19482554
I am interested Ser Bubbles. Do detail your plans and the benefits and possible consequences of it.
>>
"Elaborate." You say.
"Since the moment I ran out of power and was recharged, I learned of one of my abilities- One I did not remember. One of my crystals are carved with the same runes as a crafter's gauntlet and pauldron, and so, if I learn to use it, will be able to duplicate their abilities."
>>
>>19482589
That sounds useful. Maybe you could get Ell to teach you a bit about how it works.
>>
>>19482589
"That's good. It will come handy in a pitch.
Thank you for sharing that."
>>
"That's good." You say. "It will come handy in a pinch. Thank you for sharing that."
"I pseudolive to serve." Bubbles responded.

Out from belowdeck. . . five massive, stout and muscled ogres walk up, shining white and vaguely transparent, tools held inside their oafish hands. One of them has three horns, and another one, four arms. You note that they all have one eye in the center of their head. You hadn't seen an ogre in this detail before.

Raziel approaches, her orichalum staff held high- you feel pulses of necromancy coming from the half dozen totems set inside the staff's core.
"This is awesome." She says.
>>
>>19482641
That is indeed awesome.
Anyway I can help [I assume we're going to start with putting flowers on the ship]
>>
>>19482641
Yes, yes it is Raziel. Do you wish for any assistance?

I must say, this necromancy is quite useful, it is a rare talent you have.
>>
"That is indeed awesome." you say. "Is there any way I can help?"
"Loaning me some magic power would be cool." She said. "Keeping them corporeal is taking a lot of effort."
>>
>>19482692
We have Control Magic as a Signature spell so we don't even have to roll on this I think. Go up to her, take her hand as physical contact makes it easier and loan her some magic power.
>>
>>19482692
Let her feel the weave overtaking her. It is a good pain.
>>
rolled 63, 40, 16 = 119

>>19482692
Help her out [do we need to roll for this? Rolling just in case]
>>
>Whoops, I'd forgotten it was a signature spell. No roll required!

"Let you feel the weave overtaking you." You whisper. "It is a good pain."
"Pain? What?!"

You dip your hands into the weave around you, and watch the magic spark off of your hands as you twist the currents and eddies of the great artificial ley line, focusing it toward Raziel.

Her staff starts shaking. . and then the ogres are suddenly very, very, There- almost as if they were living beings. One makes a crude joke in ogrish (one you wouldn't care to repeat- not in polite company, at least) and the rest laugh, as they work.

"That. . isn't painful at all." Raziel said. "In fact, it's making my talons numb.
>>
>>19482747
Just be careful with it, my understanding of other's spell casting is limited so try not to go overboard.
>>
>>19482747
That was a joke
>>
"Just be careful with it." you say, your hand still sparking as you continue to funnel magic at her- her spell seems to be eating up everything it can grab. "My understanding of the spellcasting of others is. .somewhat limited, so try not to go overboard. Also, that thing about 'pain' was a joke."

"I figured." Raziel said. "So, with these flowers. . we won't need to return to the weave anymore, right? I'm a bit paranoid here. Everything I've heard about elves, they fight first and ask later when they think someone is stealing their magic. Which is funny; Ell's the complete opposite of that."
>>
Maybe we should not steal quite that much magic from the weave. Someone might notice the sudden drain and investigate.
>>
>>19482794
The only ones among them who can even build ships that sail the skies without the weave are deeply indebted to me so they are unlikely to be able to pursue us in that fashion.

In addition if we are careful about not revealing the flowers they won't know and will have no reason to go after us.
>>
>>19482799
Well then we can just smile sweetly at them and say "I'm sorry, I was just using it to fuel some illegal necromancy to help me build some cannons to help me defend those seeds I stole from you." I'm sure it'll work out fine.
>>
>>19482794
We should at least enchant the ship so it doesn't look like we have the flowers on board.
>>
"Well then, if they show up, we can just smile and say 'I'm sorry, I was just using it to fuel some illegal necromancy to help me build some magic cannonts to help me defend those seeds I stole from you.'" You say. "And then I can just giggle. Tee-hee."

You think about the seeds. . and realize that it wouldn't be that hard to disguise them. . . as a different kind of flower.

Raziel's crest twists- a raised eyebrow, you can tell, and she laughs.
"You sound like Vithriel." She said. "Speaking of which. . we could probably go visit him- her, I mean, after we get back from that island Ell is so interested in. H- She might give us some swamp brew."
>>
>>19482882
Why would we need swamp brew?
>>
>>19482835
This shouldn't have made me laugh as hard as it did.

You know we could probably actually say that and nobody would take us seriously until they actually saw it.
>>
"Why would we need swamp brew?"
"I really like swamp brew." Raziel says. "Plus, she promised she would get me some lizardmen warrior bones, last time I was there. It's. . It's on the way?"
>>
>>19482908
Well I have no objections to visiting Vithriel, she is a lovely conversationalist. Let me check my map, though I am perfectly content to go out of my way to see her again.

Though I suppose I will have to work on your taste, get you started on proper tea instead of that strange brew.
>>
>>19482908
"Please don't tell me you have started to develop an addiction to the hallucinogenic mushrooms normally used in the swamp brew.

The lizardmen bones sound cool though."
>>
>>19482908
"Are you aware what's actually IN swamp brew? Vithriel let me in on some of the ingredients, and I assure you it's nothing any sane person would normally enjoy have passing their lips."

"Are you aware what's actually IN swamp brew? Vithriel let me in on some of the ingredients, and I assure you it's nothing any sane person would normally enjoy have passing their lips."

". . I don't have lips," She said defensively. "I like the taste."

"I have no objections to visiting Vithriel; she's a lovely conversationalist. Let me check my map." You say, looking closely. You notice that Ell circled Crescent island in red. . so you draw a line between your current location, to the island, then to Vithriel's Temple, and all the way to Cerulean Province, making sure to chart your path along the Weave whenever possible.

You examine your own scribbled out path, proud of the way you even drew arrows to point which direction you'd go, and wonder if you're going to do any other detours. . .

Great.
If no one has any suggestion I say we head out after Raz is finished with her golems. While we're on the Weave, lets try something, enchant the ships hull so that it acts as a battery of sort and stores power within it, that way we will have more disposable energy at hand if we need it.
>>

I'm not sure that sounds entirely safe.

Lizardmen crew anyone?
>>
You look at the map, nod, and put it back with the rest of the airship's controls, and then set the compass to attune toward your next destination.

Soon enough, the ogre work crew finished their job, customizing the Jormungandr. Panting, Raziel lowered her staff, and the ogres faded from view.
She almost fell, sitting down, with a dazed look in her eyes.
"Yeah. . I don't think I'm going to be doing that again." She said.

"It's okay, you'll get used to it." You say.

"She used to faint every other time she did something." Lewin said, walking up from below deck.
"Would you care to join me for a refreshing cup of tea?" You ask. "It always helps me when I feel tired."
". . Might as well." Raziel responded.

The three of you end up sitting down, sipping tea.
"This is. . rather uneventful." Raziel said. "But it is relaxing."
>>
>>19483167
You spend time around me Raziel, your life is unlikely to be uneventful that often, cherish these moments of peace.

By the by, how did you get interested in the field of necromancy? It does not seem like a common interest.
>>
>>19483185
Also ask her about orgres and what she learned about them
>>
"If you spend time around me, Raziel, your life is unlikely to be uneventful that often. Cherish these moments of peace."
"Oh, I know that." She said.
"By the by, how did you get interested in the field of necromancy? It does not seem like a common interest."
". . Well, before I was very good at spellcasting, I was an. . archeologist, I suppose you could say. I spent my time wandering the wastelands, uncovering ancient ogrish tombs, learning the language, fighting mutants. . And then I realized that I could learn much, much more by bringing their spirits to life and asking them."
"And what did you learn from them?"
"Many things. I learned about the dragons, and the ogres themselves, mostly."
>>
>>19483225
Could you tell something interesting?
>>
>>19483225
Oh, please tell me more, I am deeply interested in Ogres and Dragons.
>>
"Could you tell me something interesting?"
"Well. . there was the story of Trine, the Seer." She said. "Apparently he was a three-eyed ogre who could see into the future. Spoke of the lizardmen bringing some kind of sun to ogrekind, and then spoke of some kind of slave revolt. . . It was all rumor, apparently, but in retrospect, he was right. If I ever find Trine's tomb. . "

>>
>>19483289
"Interesting. If the 'sun' was the explosion that created the wastelands, what would the slave revolt be?"
>>
>>19483314
"It was the orcs, wasn't it?"
>>
"Interesting." You say. "If the 'sun' was the explosion that created the wastelands. . The slave revolt is probably the orcs."
"That's what I think, too. But keep in mind, Trine said this all *before* it happened. Which meant he truly was a seer." She said. "And as for the dragons. . I really don't know much. Just that they were large, smart, powerful magically, and had some kind of . . . power, different than wizardry."
>>
>>19483361
"Sorcery, you mean? Do you know about their sacrifice?"
>>
What kind of people were Orgres?
>>
"Sorcery, you mean?"
"I don't know about sorcery." She said. "Just that they had a power."
"Do you know about their sacrifice?"
"A little, but only what Azariel had spoken of."

"What kind of people were the ogres?" You ask.
"You'd need a lifetime to understand what they were like. They were. . multifaceted, as all peoples are." Raziel said. "They were solemn in their old age, and believed that they were the only 'people' in the world- the rest were just pets. The oldest and wisest ogres were the ones who ruled- the very oldest usually had skill in divination, which meant they could see all of the world with their magic."
>>
>>19483517
Sounds handy.

How come they were so skillful with magic?
>>
"How come they were so skillful with magic?"
"They weren't all skillful." She said. "It's just that the ones that couldn't use magic, or ones that weren't very good at magic, would usually die young, in battle. The non-wizard ogres that got that old were . . . a minority. Those that did, were called warlords. Most of them had terrifying martial prowess, or a Talent of some kind- some advantage that the others didn't have. The most powerful warlords were greater than the ogre mage elders."
>>
>>19483588
I see...
They must have been a powerful race to manage to sacrifice the entire dragon race.

Do you think it is possible to heal the mutated ones in the wasteland and bring them back to sanity?
>>
"I see... They must have been a powerful race to manage to sacrifice the entire dragon race."
"They had power." She said. "But the ogre elders had something the dragons did not. They had cunning. They were underhanded, and they never, ever gave a single inch of land. If the stories they told were true. . The reason that the ogres died so young was because. . . when they got injured, they didn't stop, or retreat. I once read a monument to an ogre recruit who had his head sliced off- and he continued biting his opponent and wordlessly roaring."

"Do you think it's possible to heal the mutated ones in the wasteland and bring them back to sanity?"
"Oh. . Oh no. I don't think they had. . any sanity to begin with." She said. "And healing magic doesn't seem to work right on them. They just heal back to their mutated form."
>>
>>19483674
>"Oh. . Oh no. I don't think they had. . any sanity to begin with."
What do you mean by that? You think orgres were insane?
>>
>>19483674
Shame, I guess all that is left of them is memories, the wasteland and their spectres.
>>
"What do you mean by that?"
"The mutants. . aren't really ogres by this point. The first ones went mad, but. . reproduced, and their children are still. . feral, you could say. The ogre mutants were never taught anything. They're no more than beasts by this point."
>>
>>19483715
How does the anti wasteland dagger of your work? What sort of magic does it use? Where did you get it from?
>>
>>19483715
Well, if I managed to turn Trolls into a being like Kell maybe one day I'll be able to redeem the ogres, it is a long term project but one still worth considering in the future.
>>

I see... that's a shame

I've got no more questions, lets have some general chit-chat and then skip to next part of our journey
>>
>>19483787
That's completely different and I do not support this in any way.
>>
"I see." You say, and frown. "That's a shame."

The three of you continue talking about this and that, and soon enough, Ell and Ezekiel come up, cheering and whooping.

"Lady." Ell says. "With Zeke's help. . We built something."
He has a wide, triumphant grin. . with the slightest amount of maliciousness.
>>
>>19483794
Neither do I, I think. The Ogres may have done things to the lasting good of the world, but at quite severe costs.

>>19483812
"Oh, yes? Something... blasty, I presume?"
>>
>>19483812
>We built something.
"Fascinating....
What is it?"
>>
>>19483812
Well, I suppose it would be unladylike for me to let out some evil laughter at this point, so I shall instead giggle like a princess ought to.
>>
>>19483748
Azzy said it was the dagger that was used for the sacrifice that made the wasteland and he did a ritual to undo the effects near it.
>>
"Oh, yes? Something. . .blasty, I presume?"
"It's a force spell. . from a certain perspective." Ezekiel says. "Modified. . A bit. Instead of a simple sphere of power, it's more like. . well, a storm. It's quite difficult to explain."
"Oh." Raziel said. "*That*."
"We'll be testing it." Ell said, grabbing a few large crystals from his bag of 'borrowed' goods, and winding the crystals around the large, carved iron rod, arranging orichalum in a specific manner, using his strange, arcane tools to fasten them there.

Ell stood back, closed his eyes, and pointed it away from the ship. Then he closed his eyes. . and raised his gauntlet.

>Roll 1d100
>Roll high for extra blastiness.
>>
rolled 20 = 20

>>19483871
Blastiness?
>>
rolled 43 = 43

>>19483871
>>
rolled 58, 31, 39 = 128

>>19483871
>>
>>19483871
Silly, THIS is how you roll.
>>
rolled 26 = 26

>>19483871
KABEWM

With any luck.
>>
rolled 6 = 6

>>19483871
BOOM!
>>
rolled 55 = 55

>>19483900
That was embarrassing
>>
rolled 66 = 66

>>19483900
No it isn't. That really isn't how you roll.
>>
rolled 51 = 51

>>19483900
So close.

>>19483896
I gotta be honest, it's kind of annoying everytime you roll thrice at once.
>>
You feel the pulse of evocation magic, and some strange sphere erupts from the end of the crystal, a shimmering pale sphere, speckled with flashes of light. It flies. . and then dissipates, the spell unravelling and its energy getting pulled back into the weave.

Ezekiel frowns. "That's exactly like I thought. You must need a spellcaster's mind to keep it stable."
Ell shrugs. "I'll just remake it into a standard force spell. Pity."

". . I'm somewhat relieved it didn't work." Raziel said. "Zeke's spells are a bit unnerving, sometimes, and that 'storm' is a bit too much to be reproduced like that."

"I'm offended!" Ezekiel said, but you can tell he doesn't mean it. "My spells are healthy for all people."
>>
rolled 2 = 2

>>19483924
Teasing: "Except for the ones they hit?"
>>
>>19483915
>I gotta be honest, it's kind of annoying everytime you roll thrice at once.
You want me to re-roll a whole bunch of times if I fail?
What's the difference except that rolling several at once and stopping is more convenient?

But if it annoys you, I'll stop.
>>
>>19483924
>You must need a spellcaster's mind to keep it stable
Bind an elemental into the cannon to control it. It'll make them even more energy hungry (and use energy even on standby) so we'll have to see if the effects spectacular enough to be worth it.
>>
rolled 65 = 65

>>19483924
giggle a bit,
"I didn't know those lightning bolts of yours had healing properties"
>>
"Except the ones they hit?" You ask, teasingly.

"Well. . yeah." Ezekiel says.

Ell took a look at the compass. . and then looked up. "It seems we're at Crescent Island." He says, and looks over the edge of the ship. "And. . those are quite obviously ruins."
>>
>>19483975
Can you tell what kind of ruins? I don't really know this world's architecture.
>>
>>19483975
Ooh, I have always wanted to see some proper ruins. Don't start without me, I need to pick the proper outfit for this.
>>
"Ooh, I have always wanted to see some proper ruins." You say. "Don't start without me, I need to pick the proper outfit for this."
"Yes." Raziel says. "For ruin delving, you always need the right clothing."
You get changed, and then return, wearing your armored elven brigandine. You notice that raziel had changed, too, wearing a simple brown shawl, and what looks like dark blue metal for armor.
"Women." Ell says, leaning against the ship's railing. Ezekiel nods.

"What kind of ruins are they? I don't really know this world's architecture."
"They're not ogrish." Raziel says, looking over the edge of the airship. "And they're way too old to be elven. And they don't look enough like Vithriel's Temple to be lizardman. . So I'd guess. . Draconian. But it looks like it's been repaired."

You look, and see the small island, covered in grass, and there are a few, small flightless birds wandering around. the ruin itself was more like a mound, having collapsed. You do see, however, a small, human-sized doorway in the side of the mound of debris.

"Shall we go?" Ell asked, somewhat nervously.
>>
>>19484085
We shall have tea with the survivors if there are any!
>>
>>19484085
Yes we shall, I believe Raziel ought to lead the way being the most knowledgeable dungeoneer.
>>
I assume Lewin & Fellwind are staying on the ship?
>>
"Yes, we shall. I believe Raziel ought to lead the way, being the most knowledgable dungeoneer."

The airship shudders down, and everyone climbs off. . save for Fellwind and Lewin.
"We'll protect the ship." Lewin said. "Good luck."

You nod, and then Raziel gets to work on the closed, humansized door.
"Strange." She said, tinkering with the lock. "This door is definitely not draconian. It looks new. . ish. Sometime in the past five centuries."

With dust and rust shooting out of the lock, she kicked the door open.
She brushed off her shawl, and walked in.

"Oh. . .Oh my." You hear her say. "I think I figured out who were in these ruins after the dragons went away."
>>
>>19484162
"Yeah? Who were they?"
>>
>>19484162
So someone took over a draconian ruin and renovated it for their own purposes, now this is interesting. Who did this?
>>
>>19484162
I bet its Kalak
>>
"Yeah? Who were they?" You ask, and walk in.

"Oh." You say, and look up at the great, orichalum statue. A tall, elven woman stood there, arms spread graciously, wearing some kind of elaborate crown, and an artistic, fanciful set of armor which would have no real use in combat. She had a serene smile, and two small, magical fires danced in her palms.

Between her feet, at the bottom of the statue, was a book.

"I think it was the elves." Raziel said.
>>
>>19484216
I bet it was Eidolon. Everything is Eidolon, even the things that aren't.
>>
>>19484223
"Huh. Think the book is safe?"
>>
>>19484223
That is a very well educated guess Raziel, I shall bow to your superior knowledge on these matters.

We should probably be careful about the book, it may be trapped or otherwise unsafe.
>>
"That was a very well educated guess, Raziel. I bow to your superior knowledge on these matters. Think the book is safe?" You ask.

Raziel shrugs. "Let's find out." She says, and conjures a spectre. It reaches down for the book. . and picks it up.

"No magical curse, or it would have activated." She said. "But it's in elven."

"Can I take a look?" Ell asked.
>>
inb4 the statue is of Ell's mother.
>>
>>19484258
"Well, I don't know Elven, I don't see why not."
>>
>>19484258
Go ahead Ell, I don't speak Elven.

Though we should still continue to explore this place, I doubt a single book is all it has to offer.
>>
>>19484268
inb4 it's his wife and he's secretly the elven king but he has amnesia because the demons heard a prophecy that he was the chosen one and tried to kill him
>>
"Well, I don't know elven. I don't see why not." you say.
"Most elves don't know elven, either." Ell said. "We mostly use common instead. . "
He took the book, and flipped it open.
"It's a journal." He says. ". . What do you know, it's Eidolon's. I'm not surprised, actually."
>>
>>19484268
>>19484311
In after crazy schemes.
>>
>>19484311
Ell starts with an E, and Eidolon starts with an E

COINCIDENCE???????
>>
>>19484331
Waitaminute....elf starts with an e too! CONSPIRACY!
>>
>>19484323
I keep on running into that name. Keep the book, we'll have plenty of time to read it after making sure there aren't any unpleasant surprises in these halls.
>>
"What does it say?" Ezekiel asks.
"He's mostly writing about this girl." Ell said, and pointed to the statue. "Presumably the girl up there. It's actually kind of creepy, because Eidolon didn't ever talk to her."
>>
>>19484350
That is pretty creepy, does this lady have a name?
>>
>>19484324
>>19484331
>>19484339
Whoops, spoke too soon.
>>
>>19484350
Bubbles, what do you know about Eidolon being a creepy stalker?
>>
"I keep on running into that name." You say. "That is pretty creepy; does the lady have a name?"
"Not that he's written." He says. "This looks like from before he was a wizard."
"Keep the book, we'll have plenty of time to read it. But first we need to make sure there aren't any unpleasant surprises in these halls."
"Already on it." Raziel said, her staff raised. "Spectres make good body guards. Most of this place doesn't look like it was repaired, like this room."

"Bubbles, do you know anything about Eidolon being a creepy stalker?"
". . Not that I know of, Master." He responds.
>>
>>19484457
Explore!
>>
>>19484457
Do you know who this lady was. If you don't either it was before your time or you were told to forget.

Well, let's explore these ruins.

I'm slightly tempted to steal the statue and take it with us, it's a lot of orichalcum, but that seems rather rude.
>>
rolled 3 = 3

>>19484457
a sudden impulse

"I am lady Ishelda last of the line of fallen Arcturus; reveal to me your secrets."

>>
>>19484506
USSSSE THIIIIS ROOOOLL
>>
>>19484535
Why should he? The roll needed to offset the 3 would have to be a 97 or better, and besides that the second one obviously wasn't intended. And as has been previously stated, letting ourselves roll until we get a 100 is boring.
>>
"I am lady Ishelda, last of the line of Arcturus." You say, using your Tone Of Command. "Reveal to me your secrets."

"I. . don't think that will work. Not for you, anyway." Ezekiel says. "That 'Impulse' girl said that this place was all about Ell. Ell, come tell this statue to do things."

"Uh, okay. My name is Ell, reveal your secrets." He says, a pale imitation of your Tone Of Command.
Raziel grins, with a teasing smirk on her face. "You need to say it with more conviction. And use your full name."

Ell's silent for a moment. "You're making fun of me, aren't you?"

Raziel's smirk grows wider, but Ell can't recognize it. "No, not at all." She says.

". . . Fine."

With a grandiose, booming voice, Ell raises his arms. "My name is Ele'merelda'jaridan, Son of Malach, who is the son of Jarivishid! Show me your secrets!"

Raziel starts to say something. . but then the statue's eyes light up.

Flaming elven runes start appearing on the statue's torso- lines, and lines of text.

"Uh. . ." Ell looks around. "Am I seeing things, or is that really there?"
>>
>>19484577
No, there really is a statue of an elf which seems to be written on in fire.

Would you mind translating Ell?
>>
"No, there's really a statue of an elf which seems to be written on in fire. Would you mind translating?"
"There's nothing to translate." He says. "It's all just names. Eidolon at the top, alongside Keledanis. . . Looks like some kind of family tree, actually."
". . I know where this is going." Ezekiel said. "Check the bottom."
". . So, it turns out that Eidolon was one of my ancestors." Ell said. "I'm. . not sure how to react."
>>
>>19484577
See, asking nicely is always the best policy.
>>
>>19484633
"YES! THIS DAY IS GLORIOUS!" Then do a little jig.
>>
>>19484633
Start creating genius magical devices and being creepy around women?
>>
>>19484633
Don't worry Ell, if you think you need etiquette lessons to live up to your name I'll be happy to provide them, I was planning on doing that anyway to make sure you were up to par by the time we got to Cerulean.

Ell, I would suggest that you write down this family tree, it could be useful. Also do you know who this Keledanis is?
>>
>>19484654
"Well, perhaps not the second part."
>>
"Start creating genius magical devices and being creepy around women?" You ask. "Well. . perhaps not the second part."
"Yeah. . I don't think I'll be doing either." Ell said. "I'm just not genius enough. . and the only women on board the Jormungandr are you and Raziel."
"Do you know who this Keledanis is?" you ask.
"The statue." He says. "Presumably. It's also presumably the girl he wrote about in the journal."
"I suggest you write down this family tree." You say. "It might be useful."
"Yeah, if I ever have to prove that I'm the youngest fey with royal blood in my veins." He said, a dry tone in his voice. "Which won't actually be any use, because the council rules nowadays."

"Well, if you ever want to rule feykind, you could use it as an excuse." Ezekiel said, shrugging.
>>
>>19484737
Could come in handy, and I'd like to know if I run into any of his other descendants. Besides, haven't you always wanted to one up people? It's one of the best things about being royalty.
>>
"Could come in handy, and I'd like to know if I run into any of his other descendants." You say.
"Good point." Ell responds, and starts copying it all down.

"One of my spectres found something." Raziel says. "Something big."
>>
>>19484861
Good big or bad big?
>>
"Good big or bad big?"
"Good big." She said. "The spectres are carrying it back.

And what they drag back. . is large. A draconian skull sat there, bleached darkened bone.

"I think this might be a bigger find than Wharghaul." Raziel said, eyes wide. "Imagine what I could summon with this."
>>
>>19484895
"Are you certain that would be wise, if the dragons were sacrificed to restrict the demonic portals?"
Or does Ishelda not actually know that? I can't recall specifically.
>>
>>19484895
Be very careful about summoning Dragon spectres, even if it doesn't break the sacrifice, it'll still be a very large and powerful being and I'd rather it not hurt my ship.
>>
"Be. Very. Careful." You say. "If the dragons were sacrificed to restrict the demonic portals. . "
"Oh, you're right." Raziel said. She eyed the skull. . then sighed. "I don't think it's worth risking."
Her deformed wings twitched. "I don't think there's anything else here." She said, dejected. "We found out the big secret that Impulse sent us here for."
>>
>>19484968
I'm sorry about that, I know you were excited about the possibilities. We can keep the skull around, mount it somewhere. And just because we found what Impulse wanted us to find, doesn't mean there isn't more here, we should do a few last checks before leaving.
>>
rolled 94 = 94

>>19484968
I wonder if she's finished stealing the ship yet?
>>
"We can keep the skull around, mount it somewhere." You say. "And just because we found what Impulse wanted us to find, doesn't mean there isn't more here; we should do a few last checks before leaving."
"Well, if I keep the skull, I can still carve it into a totem and use it. . but I'll wait for a rainy day to do that." She said. "As a . . last resort. It's not certain if necromancy would weaken the sacrifice, anyway."
She directed the spectres to carry the skull to the ship.
"Now." Ezekiel said. "Where were we?"

"Where were you indeed?" Impulse said, as she let the spectres walk by with the skull. "Hello. You got here rather quickly."
