HELLO, EXTREMELY! IT'S TG QUEST!

In our last thread, the Command Crew managed to loot an entire Protoss Warfleet, spook the Queen of Blades, "rescue" the crew of a Confederate secret facility, and made the unpleasant discovery that the Orz *danced* in Fallout. Currently they are in deep space in the sealed Vader-verse, their one known sanctuary from any Orz appearance. What tale of chaos and insanity awaits them today?

Last thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/19599622/

Day: 5
Current Objectives: Talk Protoss Fleet into joining.

Fleet Location: Vaderverse, deep space

Inventory: http://pastebin.com/HGsJUZZb
Descriptions: http://pastebin.com/UpKiRZnh
>>
TG quest, its SUEishly delicious.
Where were we.
>>
Contact Holtz and tell him what we've done, and if the Transpace Guard have any areas where Tassadar can settle his people?
>>
Farseers, kindly consult the skeins of fortune and see if you could confirm that placing the Quarantine Wall around the canon we last met the Orz will halt their spread.
>>
>>19641168

We haven't quite talked them into joining us (and by extension, the Transspace Guard) quite yet. Unless the OP decides that the talking that we've done is sufficient. I also have the nagging feeling that we're going to have to wax philosophical about a lot of grey-area questions before that happens.
>>
>>19641125
MetaOP, has Tassadar decided to join the Transpace Guard? Or do we need to convince him some more?

Also, can we have the S2 research now? Or are you still writing it?

Third, are the Toxiguns and Aglaophotis-A magazines completed?
>>
Could we knock over that Diamond place we went after in the AMG canon?

We're out and we need more for Rezzes.
>>
>>19641184
Actually, I think a better choice would be to get them to see if they can divine where it would be best to place the new Quarantine Wall in order to seal the Orz up as much as possible.

>>19641214
Hey, if we got the Avatar to come along and not horribly murder us for being douchebags, I think we can convince Tassadar easily enough. Finding his people a new homeworld would be a wonderful start to that. It's won us friends before.

Though we might need him or one of his high-ranking subordinates to travel back to Zerg Quest with us so we can get the various enclaves to come with us to said new world.
>>
>>19641214
Fortunately explaining why we do the things we do (and don't do other things) will actually be really easy to do for the Protoss.
http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Dae%27Uhl
Check this and see if you can't find any parallels.
>>
>>19641236
Another DeBeers vault?
Or should we go for that one star that's turned into a giant diamond?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/3492919.stm
How much in GP is a 10 billion trillion trillion carats?
>>
>>19641236
Better not.
I'm pretty sure Heaven wouldn't appreciate us stopping by uninvited to steal a shitload of diamonds.
>>
Starscream being attacked by clocks... and ... Grill?

How meta.
>>
>>19641296
We already stole some diamonds from AMG. I'm saying we should steal some from here, where it's a relatively normal canon.

My guess is that it's d20 modern or something like that.
>>
Potential sidemissioning:

Starcraft -> Get tech trees, resoc tanks, SCVs, maybe a bunch of minerals and vespene.
C&C -> Loot MCVs, Tiberium. Possible weapons and vehicles.
Fallout -> Make this place *sticky*, so that the Orz cannot *slide*.
Ivalice -> Loot more troops
Booze run -> Grab booze for Holtz
Warcraft -> Could have merit in a trooplooting mission.

And no doubt other people have other ideas based on stuff they know.
>>
>>19641323
Tried raiding your own continuity yet?
>>
>>19641313
Oh, you mean its parallel version on this canon?
Sure, lets do that.
>>
>>19641300
>>19641125

That's the SUE Starscream from the Vaderverse. After going over the data that expressly makes the Orz *frumple* and *pull* people for knowing.
>>
>>19641323
Don't forget that before we stop the Orz, we should clean up shop at the Fallout Canon. Steal some powered armor, energy weapons, and especially whatever is left of Liberty Prime.
>>
rolled 35 = 35

You haven't convinced Tass quite yet.
>Current Objectives: Talk Protoss Fleet into joining.

>>19641253
Farseers attempt to see far in our first die roll of the new thread.
>>
rolled 78 = 78

>>19641392
Hahaha, again?
>>
>>19641392
>>19641401
Wait, isn't our reroller unconscious?

Also, convincing the toss:
>Dae'Uhl
>the protoss took it upon themselves to follow the traditions of the xel'naga; protecting and safeguarding "lesser races" under their protection. Unlike the xel'naga however, the protoss would rarely directly interfere,[1] especially after the Kalathi Intercession.[2] As a general rule, the protoss would only make their presence known to a species when they were threatened by an outside source.[3] The end result was that the protoss maintained order and peace in their part of galaxy for thousands of years.[4]
>>
>>19641401
Ah.

The Farseers blanch and writhe as they attempt to unravel skeins dealing with the mysterious, alien Orz, who *pull* people for thinking too hard about them. Luckily, their own skill at avoiding similar Warp-borne horrors and the inherent resistance of the Vaderverse post-bomb allow them to glean the information they need without falling victim to this insidious danger.

"Properly placed, the absolute wall will clamp the fingers of Orz to this place for eons to come."
>>
>>19641392
Could we show him some data on some species of Meta-Zerg or something like that? There must be at least one group that escaped into the meta.

"This is another of the types of enemies we must face. We protect the people of these worlds from menaces like the Zerg, so they may grow and prosper on their own. We maintain peace and order in our sector while other branches of my organization do the same in other areas."
>>
>>19641439
That'll do.

But if the Orz are here, what happened at C&C?

Betting $5 it's got Scrin all over it.
>>
>>19641439
MetaOP, did we finish downloading the archival case files on how disastrous First Contact used to be for the Transpace Guard?
>>
>>19641457
The Orz can move between canons. We met them originally at C&C and they "pulled" everyone there by accident, and admitted it to us.
>>
>>19641401
GIEV S2 INFROMATONS PLOX

Also what are we researching now? Mind Shields, right?
>>
>>19641439

>Tassadar: "It would be better to wipe them out, but if that cannot be done, an eternal prison would work well enough," Tassadar nods. "So you are not asking my help for one foe... You want my forces to help you against whatever foes may arise. Is that correct?"

Yes. But understand that our faction does not participate in politics local to those realities, unless they show that they have breached the walls of reality first.

Let us make this clear: we do not claim dominion over any of these realities. Our sole purpose is to protect them from external threats such as Chaos and the Idiot-gods. And should these people show that they are capable of traversing realities on their own volition AND that they have no interest in conquering/annexing other realities to boost their own status, we may even invite them to join ranks with us so that other worlds may prosper without the interference of these reality-breakers.

But until that time, we remain hidden to protect them from reaching beyond their grasp, or if they are threatened by entities that would twist these realities for their own gain.
>>
>>19641439
>>19641462
"Tassadar. Your people have the philosophy of the Dae'Uhl. The United Federation of Planets has the Prime Directive.
"The Transpace Guard has something similar. We are dedicated to maintaining the stability and safety of the Metaverse. It is a constant vigil that we maintain. A duty and responsibility that we bear.
"We ask you if you will aid us."
>>
Also:

Though you have shown that you are fully capable of defending yourselves when roused, we realize that your people are not inherently warlike. It almost seems like your wartime technology was derived from works that were meant to be productive, rather than destructive in nature.

Though the conflict that we wage to ensure the integrity of reality may be long, we recognize that you and your people here may also have a vested interest in seeing their culture flourish. If you join us, we will do all that we can to find a home for you and your beleaguered people.
>>
>>19641429
That wasn't a reroll, it was a second roll for something else. Something... *pinky* evil?

>Holy shit OP, an Austin Powers reference? Really?

Sh- shut up!

>>19641474
S-2 Organ: After extensive analysis, we are still unable to understand fully how this device functions or how it produces the seemingly limitless energy it does. Although we have failed to analyze it completely, we have made great strides in harnessing its power. We may now install the S-2 Engine we possess as an upgrade into a single vessel or mecha. In addition, the data we gained here has advanced our general research, and we may produce an inferior copy of the device.
>New production item available: Lesser S-2 Engine.
>S-2 Organ now available for installation.
>>
>>19641715
So do we put the S2 Organ in Mechagodzilla now, or do we wait to put it in Liberty Prime?

But know that we are working with you. Not for you. We will see with our own eyes the gravity of what you face. Then perhaps we will talk further."
>>
>>19641744
I'm for putting the S2 Organ into Mecha Godzilla, and producing Lesser S2's for the mechs.
>>
>>19641715

How does the S2 Organ measure up to our starships' current engines in terms of power? Are there any specific advantages to installing it other than we can probably boost the effectiveness of our ships' systems proportional to the power boost that we get?

Also, how does the Lesser S2 Engine stack up against the various Fusion Engines on our mecha and vehicles?

"A cautious, and commendable, course of action Tassadar. We will contact our superiors and begin the process of scouting out a suitable colony planet."

Open comm-channel to Holtz:
"Holtz, good news. We were able to recruit, on a temporary basis, Tassadar and an entire fleet of Protoss. The only thing is, we need a colonizable planet for them to set up some factories and such. Can you get the ball rolling on that?"

MetaOP, have we finished production of the toxiguns and Aglaophotis-A?
>>
>>19641769
The Lesser Engine produces endless power, like its older brother, but it has a limited rate of 'transfer'. For ships like the R-types, capable of tremendous power outputs, it's a step back. For Battlemechs and VFs, it's a step up.
>>
>>19641822
What if we try a "Twin Drive System" and use two of the lesser engines combined?

Twin Drive. I like how you think.
>>
Open a channel to Holtz.

"Holtz, we have some good news and bad news for you. The good news? We've managed to... uh... persuade... a Protoss Battlefleet consisting of both Dark Templar and Khala headed by Tassadar. Don't worry, they were about to die in a non-prime canon and we managed to rescue them without rousing suspicion. They're large enough that we're pretty sure that they'd give us the beating of a lifetime if we were to go head to head with them."

"The bad news? They're not quite sold on the idea of working for the Guard for the rest of their natural lives. If we can show them that the enemies we face are Real Bad News, and IF we can secure a planet (or series of planets) for them to settle on and claim as their own, then they will agree to work for the TG on a permanent basis."
>>
If they want a planet to colonize, we could go out to one of the many livable planets in the galaxy and find them one.

Vaderverse won't have tech that would find them for thousands of years, probably.

"Hey Holtz, get us a Nyx Supercarrier. Hey Holtz, get us a Type-223 Quarantine Wall. Hey Holtz, great news! We got a Protoss Fleet for the low, low price of an ENTIRE PLANET!"

Holtz heaves a defeated sigh. "No... I know what you meant. I'll start looking through the archives. Wait, why bother? If they don't mind a little radiation, there's a newly vacant class M that opened up just a month or two ago. I hear someone let the ORZ into it."

Holtz takes another hit. "Sorry, sorry. But seriously, pick the world you're NOT going to use as Orz-bait for your trap and see if that will work. God knows we won't be using it for much else."
>>
>>19642020
We could let them stay here. C&C world likely has Tiberium aliens out there somewhere.

As long as the protoss leave Earth alone, there won't be any problems.
>>
We didn't show the Protoss the horrors of the Bydo or even Chaos?
>>
>>19642035
That's a good point.
We could even cede them an entire quadrant of the Local Cluster if they want.

As long as they stay out of the Alpha Quadrant.

"Holtz, what about this universe we're in? As long as they stay out of the Alpha Quadrant to stay away from Earth, they should be able to settle on any planet in the rest of the galaxy."

If he agrees, we can tell Tassadar that he can begin sending explorers.
>>
>>19642035
Eh, I'm pretty sure the Protoss can deal with Tiberium aliens.
Because if we leave the Protoss here, not only will they need to leave Earth alone, but the would also have to hide from Earth's telescopes and suchlike and that's too troublesome.
>>
>>19642057
Do you realize how large distances are?

If they settle in Canus Major, that's .025 Million Lightyears away.

They'll never be found.
>>
>>19642108
Yeah alright.
But I'm just a bit worried that they might have trouble settling down, due to this canon lacking many of the minerals and gases that their technology requires.
At least Tiberium would give them something.
>>
>>19642121
Tiberium basically is minerals.
Dunno where you'd get the vespene from.
Probs tiberium boreholes?
>>
>>19642051
"Earth isn't a problem, everyone's gone, remember? Hell, they can settle anywhere they like there, just watch out for Skrin. They're still mucking about somewhere in the depths of space."
>>
>>19642148
> everyone's gone, remember?
Kane.

While I know there's limits to what one man can do, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to have the Scrin army headed by Kane at some point.
>>
>>19642148
"Actually, we were referring to here, the Vaderverse, because Tassadar knows of the Orz and he might need the protection.
"But okay. We'll run it by Tassadar, do some preliminary scans, make sure there's no Orz flying around."

Inform Tassadar that we may have a galaxy for him to colonize. But that there will be...neighbors.
>>
>>19642148

What about here in the Vaderverse, Holtz? This canon is warded against the Orz and by extension maybe other extradimensional entities, which makes it relatively safe. In addition, since there aren't any recorded aliens mucking about in a boring and lonesome version of our Earth-canon, we could just have them take a pick of planets that are a few million light years away from Earth. That should ensure that the inhabitants of this Vaderverse canon won't get into contact with the Protoss until they have the capability of very sophisticated warp travel.
>>
>>19642222
"I guess that could work too. Your call."
>>
>>19642222
The only thing is, that the TG might want a secure Canon like this for our own colonization program.
>>
Hey OP, how long would it take to construct the Lesser S2 Engines (I'm just gonna say LS2 Engine from now on) for our 'mechs/vehicles and replace their current engines?

Also, how long would it take to adapt the LS2 engine to the various Clan-tech designs and conventional vehicles that we have right now?
>>
>>19642243
MetaOP, are we finished with the toxiguns?
>>
>>19642043
The bydo and chaos make the zerg and even the hybrids look like aphids
>>
>>19642249

The universe is a very big place. The protoss are not a fast-growing people either; they had thousands of years and they only claimed a small portion of the Koprulu Sector as their own. Assuming that the Koprulu Sector is as big as a Galactic Quadrant in Star Trek terms, this still leaves about two other Quadrants for the Transspace Guard to use.

In addition, I'm betting that the TG could merely use another galaxy altogether for their plans. Alternatively, we could find a remote galaxy with habitable planets for the Protoss to call their own. This way, the local inhabitants of the Vaderverse will have to surpass Starfleet technology to even *reach* the Protoss, while leaving the familiar galactic territory for the Transspace Guard's own use.
>>
>>19642287

We showed them a slideshow of everything that the Transspace Guard have faced down. The Combine, Chaos, Ebon Night, even the Closers. This helped, but didn't sway them entirely.
>>
>>19642257
The research time included such adaptation, so that much is done already. It would take about two days per vehicle to retrofit them, that includes the time taken to produce the LSEs.

>>19642263
By now? Yeah. Toxiguns can be replicated, so I guess you can mass produce them easy-peasy. It's the ammo that's the hard stuff.
>>
>>19642332
Well, let's ask Tassadar.
The two options are:
1. Vaderverse. They must stay away from the Alpha Quadrant; Earth and it's local neighbors are forbidden to the Protoss.
2. C&C World. No restrictions on where they go.
The Canon has been so damaged already with the loss of all of Earth, that they can do whatever is necessary with the Scrin if they go hostile.

>>19642393
Okay, how much Aglaophotis-A do we have? Enough for a squad? 2 squads?
>>
Let's develop two Lesser S2 engines and work them into a Twin Drive for Char.

Let's... spend about 10% on VX Stabilization, yes?
>>
>>19642417
>>19642417

3.) Vaderverse; but with a caveat. We will find an entirely new uninhabited (and stable!) galaxy with adequately inhabitable planets for them to settle in, distinct from the Milky Way galaxy. If they accept this, then they'll be able to colonize worlds and be left alone probably for the probable span of however long it takes for the Big Bang to stop. If it will stop.
>>
>>19642393
Engineering:
Have Mecha-Godzilla equipped with the S2 unit.
Equip the Mad Cat's with a Lesser S2 Engine.
Equip the All Under Heaven and Relentless with transporter arrays.

Research:
25% Foreign Reality Emitter
25% Dimensional Stabilizer
>>
>>19642417
Tassadar would actually prefer the C&C world because it has something akin to minerals in Tiberium, and it has less restriction. He is confident in his fleet's ability to fend off these "Scrin" should they appear.

You have enough for a single squad of A-A so far.
>>
>>19642490
That's still 50%. So 10% on VX research, and 40% on Lesser S2 Engine?
>>
>>19642591
The other 50% is currently on Psi Shield and WilyCorp DataCore research.
>>
>>19642570
Ok, his choice.

Give him all information available on the C&C wiki on the canon and we'll bring them there.

>>19642591
I'd say 10% VX. 20% Dimensional stablizer. 20% Hax emitter
>>
>>19642591

Aren't we still researching Psi-shields?

>>19642570

Tell Tassadar that the C&C universe is where the Orz were first sighted outside of their natural reality. The safety of that reality will hinge on our successful restriction of the Orz. Will he still be willing to accept a new galaxy for his people in the Vaderverse, if need be?
>>
>>19642640
If you fail in restricting the Orz, yes. But Tassadar figures that might be the least of his worries if you fail.
>>
>>19642656
Well alright then.
Lets leave him to get settled while we pay a visit to the Fallout canon to steal everything?
>>
Alright. So the "Frame" system that we're going to use to restrict the Orz is going to arrive at HQ in a few days. We need to cook up a plan so that the Orz don't catch on to what we're doing before we seal the canon, or alternatively convince them that they're interested in staying in the Fallout canon and all of the vast expanse of space there.

We also need to figure out if there's an optimal placement or somesuch that will make sure the Orz will stay in the Fallout canon once the Frame system activates. Perhaps we can call up Holtz and ask him for a document or something on maximal placement of the Frame system in past deployments?
>>
>>19642656
Very well. Just for his safety, it's probably best to keep his fleet hidden here in this Canon until we've successfully contained the Orz.

Let's collect us up some resources while we're here, send a few Al'Kesh for a booze run and to raid a DeBeers vault. Once finished, we'll go back to Sector HQ so that we can get the Dimensional Stabilizer plans and then hand them off to the TSAB.
>>
Speaking of new business, Cheryl says she's ready to talk now.
>>
>>19642938
In that case, we're ready to listen.
>>
>>19642938
That sounds alright. Let's get comfortable; maybe get her something warm to drink to ward off the chill in her bones she's likely about to reveal she's got from the shit that was in Grimm's mind.

If it's taken Cheryl this long to get it straight, it's time to listen.

Also, all dat looting, etc. No reason not to.
>>
>>19642938
Very good. We can do it in one of the secured conference rooms.
>>
>>19642938

Let's hear what she has to say. Ask her if she wants to include anyone else in this conversation, or if it's just something that we should know.

In one of the secured conference rooms, Cheryl paces nervously, hands clasped behind her back as you file in and take seats. When the last of you is finally seated, she winces and speaks.

"Uh... I'm... not quite sure where to begin? But... I'll try," Cheryl takes a deep breath. "OK... So... Well, you remember back when Grimm was telling you the Guard was lying to you? He wasn't... He wasn't making that up. It wasn't the full story, but it wasn't a lie either."

Cheryl pauses. "The truth is... Well, the Transpace Guard doesn't know half the things it says it does. It doesn't know why 'fictional' characters exist, it doesn't know why some worlds mash together and merge without creating reality distortions and why some do, it doesn't... Well, do you know that there are incidents on record where the Guard attempted to 'fix' a canon only to find that the distortions stayed? Did you know there were incidents where they found 'canons' going terribly off course, but no distortions were detected?"

Cheryl trails off helplessly. "It's... Grimm found out this much at least before he went rogue. Morale. It's about morale. If they basically strapped you guys into a ship like the Storm with its transpace drive, how psyched would you be to work for them if the pep talk you got was, 'Oh hey, we don't really know what's out there or how things are really supposed to work, but we figure we'd better take a crack at it. Here's some barely understood technology, try not to break the universe!"

Cheryl bites her lip. "And... that's not all."
>>
>>19643221
To be honest, we figured as much.

"Uh... thanks. Coffee... No. No, screw it. Hot chocolate if you have any," Cheryl nods. "Well... you probably figured out too that you weren't the first to capture SUEs either. It's rare, but it does happen. It gets hushed up rather fast, usually. Grimm couldn't find out what they did with all of them, but more than a few were sent his way for..."

Cheryl shudders. "Study..."

"Originally, he went rogue because he fled after breaking into secret records. I kept... I kept trying to go through his memories trying to find some more answers, something solid to give you, but all he found was question after question. Every time he thought he managed to figure out some aspect of the metaverse, he found case reports of something that would contradict it. All sealed away. It drove him insane."
>>
>>19643377
...Be honest with us Cheryl, was Dr. Grimm ever really that stable in the first place?
>>
>>19643377
Replicator can make pretty much anything. How do you prefer your Hot Chocolate?

Insane, eh? That sucks. Well, if I start going insane, just point Elaine at me. She's good at stuff like that.
>>
>>19643377
Well, hopefully we're abit less insane then him. Besides, we've got you and the Avatar here to help us along with the secrets of the multiverse.
>>
>>19643377
While certainly discouraging, both of those things are also to be expected.
In fact so far this is all a lot less worrisome than I had feared.
...Which probably says a lot about how much faith I have in this organization, now that I think about it.
>>
>>19643377
"Well, that makes sense. We could be talking about some serious shit here; maybe even full on reality-level recursion. *That* shit'll fuck your head up good. Tried doing a paper on something similar for my thesis; and ended up with a migraine for a week."

"It all ties in to Black Ops' operations style and how they freaked out when we started upgrading the Emitters. Taking already not-understood tech and upgrading it further? Shit'd get real scary in a hurry."

Welp, folks. Looks like we'll be playing The Most Dangerous Game Of 'Keep Away' with them with some of the shit we've figured out...
>>
>>19643377
"Hot Chocolate, extra marshmallows.
"Not completely unexpected, really. We all had some inkling of it. But as blind as we are, we can't just stop doing what we're doing, or things like Ebon Night will go unchecked.
"Is there anything else you were able to find inside Grimm?"
>>
>>19643421
Our Boss is an alcoholic. We're enablers and we constantly buy him liquor as bribes.

We were given an army and told "These guys are evil. Go kill them. Oh shit, the universe broke. Go fix it."

When we opened up the reality emitters and tried to upgrade them, it was remarkably easy, but Black Ops got on our ass about it.

We're constantly told not to cause distortions, but our very existence there causes one.

I have very little faith in our bosses. Main reason I'm doing it is to see the Meta and loot new stuff!

Disturbing, if true. A pity we don't have a way to contact a certain time traveler; this seems to be right up his alley.
>>
>>19643392
"Well... not fully... but he used to be a far cry from that... THING."

>>19643402
"Gladly. Oh, with marshmallows, please."

>>19643407
"Yeah... Yeah, I guess you do..."

"There was also this. A long time ago, during the Guard's early days, reality emitter technology and a few technologies like the Rewriter Bomb were stolen and reverse engineered from another faction. A black ops team found one of their ships badly damaged, broadcasting a distress call on all frequencies. Some parts of it were standard fare, but others were incredibly advanced. The team brought it in for 'study', and its original occupants just sort of... disappeared."

Cheryl pauses. "I'm trying hard to remember everything, but it's really, really difficult."
>>
>>19643544
"We truely appreciate this and everything you've done to help us Cheryl. "

And then, if possible give her a friendly reassuring hug.

"...Mysterious Shadow Organization. Uh, crap. Like the one Guy worked for and we just stole a super advanced reality emitter from?"
>>
>>19643544
"It's alright Cheryl. Take your time.
"Most likely the Meta-Faction that Black Ops stole the technology from is related to the reality distortion moving towards us; according to Philemon and Igor, at least.
"Maybe even the Meta-Faction that Guy and that other person were working for. Their reality emitter technology is still so much more advanced than ours.
"But again, on your own time, Cheryl. You don't have to push yourself too hard."
>>
>>19643544
You're free to refuse this, but could you allow an Auror to perform Legilimency upon you?
>>
>>19643544

That lines up with what we found with Guy's equipment and why his other cohort seemed genuinely surprised that we had Reality Emitters of our own. I wonder if they even see these sectors the same way we do; either that or they sure like to take their sweet time in taking care of distorted sectors.

Are you alright, Cheryl? If this remembering is hurting you, we can stop if you need to.
>>
>>19643578
>>19643580
"Thanks guys, that means a lot to me," Cheryl says, hugging you back. "I'll try not to strain. I guess, do you have any questions?"

>>19643616
Cheryl frowns. "What's that do?"
>>
>>19643636
Well, basically, it allows you to "pull out memories" like a little silver hair. It's kinda like mind-reading, but with magic.
>>
>>19643636
"Legilimency is mind-reading magic. Let's an Auror sift through your memories. You're free to refuse, of course. And quite frankly, with a psyker as powerful as you, I don't know what would happen.
"Anyway, I think the only things are, if you recognize this symbol from Grimm's memories."
Show Cheryl the emblem from the Foreign Reality Emitter.
>>
>>19643649
It seems to be a bit more orderly as well, as the Auror would theoretically be able to navigate your mind and find things that your conscious self has forgotten.
...But now that I think about it, that might be a terrible idea.
While I mean no offense by what I'm about to say, and indeed find it very impressive, I fear that the things you have witnessed and experienced may break someone who does not have your truly remarkable mental fortitude.
>>
That's it! Igor and Philemon probably know what that mysterious faction symbol is!

But, what's their price?
>>
>>19643710
Maybe we should try the Avatar first?
>>
>>19643710
I really hope it's sidequests.
>>
>>19643709

Especially if "Fumbles" is at the helm. Ech. Remembering that whole debacle at Rivendale still boils my blood. It's a wonder that he survived our outing into the Dystopia.
>>
>>19643741
It's a wonder that Fumbles has survived at all.
He should become a Hero character, just so we have an actual Auror nicknamed Fumbles.
His special abilities can be screwing things up, yet always surviving.

Albert 'Fumbles' Pennysworth
Auror
- "I'm just doing my job": Despite having, once again, somehow screwed up a routine action which has resulted in almost all of the Command Crew's plans collapsing in a gigantic mess, like the disaster of the Hindenburg, Fumbles is miraculously still alive, and to add insult to injury, completely unharmed.
>>
>>19643787
To be honest I'm pretty sure he would be a negative hero.
Like not a villain or an antihero, but he would count as -1 hero.
>>
>>19643787
Don't forget, he also keeps accidentally changing his gender.

Now that I think about it, I think the reason we may have gotten the Aurors was because they were willing to give us those guys to get rid of Fumbles.
>>
>>19643834
Can't Virtun or a Shadowrun shaman fix that problem by using double rolls?
>>
>>19643834
>we may have gotten the Aurors was because they were willing to give us those guys to get rid of Fumbles.
"So, we get all of this, in exchange for letting some of our top Aurors go gallivanting off with some Muggles to Who-Knows-Where?"
"Sir, if I might point out, Pennysworth is on the short list of candidates...."
"SOLD!"
>>
>>19643476
I dunno either.

At least we're stabilising reality. That's a good thing.

I HOPE stabilising reality is a good thing.

We are stabilising reality, right? Our detection equipment is detecting what it says it is, right?

Jesus ballbreaking christ.

>>19643544
Damn yo.
>>
>>19643666

Seconding this. Perhaps the emblem on that high-tech foreign Reality Emitter we found on Guy had enough significance to Grimm such that Cheryl could have picked it out. It's worth a try, at the very least.
>>
"Uh... maybe if I really can't get the last bits out, I'll let one of them do that. SO LONG AS IT'S NOT THE GUY THAT SET RIVERDALE ON FIRE! Uh, I mean Rivendale. Anyway..."

Cheryl pauses. "There was... one other thing. There was some secret bit of data that only a handful of people knew that Grimm kept trying to get at but couldn't. Whatever it was, he was able to find out that it's one of black op's most heavily protected bits of data. Something they actually seemed afraid of letting slip."

>>19643834
This is now canon.

>>19643666
"That's the same symbol that was on the ship!"
>>
>>19644049
So this new faction are void engineers.
Uh-oh!
>>
>>19644049
Cheryl, I want to ask you. Can you still Transform into Princess Heart? And can you still use the Heather Beam and Sexy Beam?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqm_E01VQaE <--- Princess Heart Transformation
>>
>>19644049
"We'll have to stay on the lookout for that data.
"As for that symbol and that Meta-Faction, according to Philemon, something from the TG's past is at the center of that moving distortion. Guess it's going to be time to enter high-stakes interdimensional negotiations, then.
Thanks, Cheryl. If that's everything, take a break. You've earned it."

How's Vitun doing? Still unconscious? Does Doc Lazarus have any idea how long he'll be off active duty?

"No problem, I'm already on my way to Lyla's ladies' card night."

>>
>>19644077
>>19644049

It's a sword on a twelve-pointed star that's also on fire. I'm not too up to date on other material, but I don't think that's the symbol of the Void Engineers.

This stint has just become all sorts of complicated. But until we know more about the situation (or have any viable means of contacting that other organization), it may be best to continue doing what we're doing. We don't want to alert Black Ops that we know that they don't know much about the nature of reality, and we're still putting things right in the meta. The real complications will arise once two or more meta-factions start to conflict with each other.

I wonder... if the Transspace Guard knows that little about the Meta, I wonder if they send out task forces like us as test groups. Kind of to see if one of the task forces they send out finds a tried-and-true way of restoring lasting order to the Meta, and then patterning future operations around that.
>>
>>19644174
We should really take a peek into Data's Machine Poker Night, now that we have a YVH-1 droid and Mecha-Godzilla at the table.

Ask Vitun if he feels up to giving some crew's a Bit of Luck DOUBLE ROLL.

DeBeers won't miss those diamonds, and we can put them to better use.
>>
>>19644174
Neato.
So what are we doing now?
Are the looter team back yet with that ship?
I figure we need to go someplace. Not sure what place.
Is there anything we can do in the few days while we wait for the quarantine frame gets back to base? Maybe go hit up C&C for some stuff?
>>
>>19644174
Hrm. Our data on the Silent Hill meta suggests that there's a way for you to transform into a Magical Girl known as Princess Heart, and her special attack the Sexy Beam, which fires either a constant beam or multiple projectiles from your eyes. It's also usable untransformed, but stronger when you're Princess Heart.
>>
>>19644229
We have a pair of Al'Kesh loot a couple DeBeers diamond vaults.
Pick up more booze.
After picking up as much materials will fit in the material storage tanks of the AUH, Hercules, Hiigaran Shipyard, we need to go back to base.
The Dimensional Stabilizer schematics are already there, and we need to take them to the TSAB outpost we led the Orz to.

So until those things are done, we don't have time to be looting the C&C Canon.
>>
If there's anyone that knows, there's Philemon and Igor.

Now, we can't possibly ask the G-Man, right?
>>
>>19644324

The G-Man is a last resort at best. Although if we get to "working" for him sooner or later, we may want to try to play hardball and get him to reveal some stuff. But other than that, we should probably avoid him at all costs.

In the meantime, we should probably get to looting what we can. There's still some stuff we could get from the Zerg Quest canon, but I have a feeling that we should stay out of there for now. Keep a low profile until things cool off or have the Cerebrate's attention. Although those Resoc. tanks would be pretty nice for training people.
>>
>>19644324
Problem with that is the fact we don't have anything to trade for the information. They work on a payment system; remember?

I'd hold off on trying to contact them until we have something to try and trade for the info. Let's go back and get the data, then ship it over to the TSAB base. Once we're there, we can get a status update of how they're holding out against NuChaos, and suggest things that might help their fights.

Also; even though they probably don't need it, give them a general reassurance along the lines of "We're working as quickly as we can to seal these breaches so we can focus on helping you. Please hold out a while longer until we can come help you deal with them. We should have a nasty surprise or three ready for them by the time we get there."
>>
>>19644238
"...what?"

>>19644251
Without anything crazy to stop you this time, you make off with a cargohold of actual diamonds.

Cheryl's eyes suddenly grow wider, as something clicks in her brain.

"Canon!" she blurts out. "That's the thing I couldn't remember! That thing about the canon!" Cheryl shakes her head. "Certain elements of the Transpace Guard high command have been... using the idea of 'canon' for their own ends. Ah, telling teams a sector has to unfold this way or that way when actually there's nothing to suggest it. Grimm found... a disturbing number of incidences where a task force action to correct an 'AU stable canon' or 'spinoff' was instigated due to dealings behind the scenes, or because Requisitions or Black Ops or R&D wanted to get their hands on some item or weapon they couldn't normally. For example... He found one incident where a team was called in to prevent the destruction of a Weyland-Yutani research outpost on LV-1201. The stated reason was that it was this one a 'bad end' canon where the protagonist died, but the real reason was so that another team could allow their research to finish, then steal it. There... there were way too many stories like that. Way too many examples."
>>
>>19644633
Aw shit.

Well, now what? We have the diamonds, is the Quarantine enforcer here?

I assume we're manufacturing RED-Generic and Beam out stacks for all our regular dudes, Personal armor and Star trek rifles for those who don't have them, then we're focusing on S2 engines for all our 'mechs and spaceships.
Is that correct?
>>
>>19644633
"But then, how do we know how events are supposed to unfold? How do we know which path a world is supposed to take?
"There's literally thousands of fanons, hundreds of AU's. At least the S.U.E.'s are the one thing we can reliably neutralize."

>>19644685
The Quarantine Frame is going to take days to arrive and set up, so no.
Also, we finished the RED-2-Generic and EBO Cortical Stacks for all of our combat troops a day ago.

Right now the Engineers should be working on installing the S2 Organ into Mecha Godzilla, installing the Lesser S2 Engines into the Mad Cats, and installing teleporters on the All Under Heaven.

And after that, we need to continually produce EBO Cortical Stacks for our entire Task Force for 39 days.
>>
>>19644633
"..I can see how that'd work out. It's almost cruel, but I can see some of the reasoning. Not excusing it, mind you. But there's a lot of crazy shit out there people would love to get their hands on."

We can't let ANYONE else know about this shit right now. Whatever's left of Black Ops will hunt us like dogs. This is "we'll kill you, your family, and everyone who's ever heard of you" level shit here.

Wonder if the Messiahs and Firemen actually know anything about the real depths of the shit we're all in?

But yeah. Diamonds looted, let's get back, get those schematics, and go talk to the TSAB base. >>19644395 for reference as to what we should roughly be saying to them when we arrive.

Oh! And shields up when we go there. Who knows what may be waiting there!
>>
>>19644633

Corruption within the ranks. It's no surprise that something like this would happen in such a large and powerful organization... but the ramifications are no less disturbing. We know that Looter teams were sent out to do things like these, but I get the feeling that less inquisitive and/or clever Editor groups may have been directed to do the same. But on a larger scale. Maybe this is part of the reason why there's such inter-faction friction within the Guard, and why someone would go so far as to cripple the Requisitions Dept.
>>
>>19644754
Don't forget that on the way back from the TSAB, we need to go to the Dark Matter Canon.
Not only to get Gaunt revived once Vitun is up and ready, but also because they've got a bare skeleton staff that we need to help get Dimensional Stabilizers operational and a base rebuilt.
>>
>>19644729
"That's... kinda it..." Cheryl winces. "You... don't. The ONLY means of figuring out what needs fixing is the sensors that pick up reality distortions. SUEs are definitely something the Guard needs to deal with, and something it can do, but all this stuff about 'canon'... It's murky..." Cheryl shrugs, helplessly. "Even Grimm couldn't figure out the truth of it for certain one way or the other. He just found out people were trying to take advantage of it." Cheryl pauses. "Did you... Did you know that there are a lot of people in the Guard who considers people like me to just be tools? Anyone not born on the 'real' Earth is just a disposable resource. They don't even think we're truly real..."

Need a destination for certain. Dark Matter, TSAB outpost, or elsewhere?
>>
>>19644907
Dark Matter, res gaunt (if Virtun is up to it)

Then I'm not sure where.

I'm leaning towards C&C while we get our S2 engines manufactured and installed and our mind shield researched, but we could hit up any of the "Not Lynchpin" worlds.
>>
>>19644907
>Did you... Did you know that there are a lot of people in the Guard who considers people like me to just be tools?
Well, you're a tool whose feelings are important to me. :)
>>
>>19644907
>Destination
Sector HQ first. We need to get those Schematics before we go to the TSAB.

To Cheryl:
"Yeah, the Firemen. Hell, even some of the Moderates, too. But we'll do what we can to do right by you, and everyone else in our crew."
>>
>>19644907

That sounds like the Firemen... what a merry bunch they are. Although I suppose that no drama is complete without the obviously evil hard-liner extremist faction.

If we have the go-ahead from Holtz, I think we should go to the TSAB outpost we visited. If they're still alive and unpulled, they'll definitely want the Stabilizer plans. A bit of goodwill to another large meta-faction never hurts in these troubled times.

If Vitun is going to be OK by the time we warp to the Dark Matter canon, though, we may want to see if we can save the TG holdings there. Or if there is anyone that needs saving.
>>
>>19644967
Vitun needs 7 days and we don't have the Dimensional Stabilizer plans. If we go there, it would only be to res Gaunt rather than ressing Gaunt AND getting the base there online.
We lost the only other intact base we had, we're now down to 1 out of 4 bases operational.
>>
>>19645000
Holtz said we need to come home if we want the plans; he's not going to transmit them over transpace communications.
>>
>>19644975
"Way to be callous and utterly not appreciative, dude. Not cool."

"No matter what anyone says, or whatever happens; you are real Cheryl. You are a person with your own strengths, flaws, and feelings. You're as real as any of us, and that's not gonna change. The same goes for everyone else."

Destination route should be TSAB Base by way of Sector HQ. Holtz has the DIMENSIONAL STABILIZER plans ready and waiting for us. It's the QUARANTINE WALL gear we're waiting on.

Deliver the DIMENSIONAL STABILIZER plans to the TSAB Base.
>>
>>19644975
>>19644988
>>19645036
"I don't think he meant it offensively, but thanks guys..." Cheryl smiles a little. "It's... more than a little weird finding out some guy out there thinks he made you as part of a game."

Your ships enter transpace formation and make the jump back to HQ to receive the plans...

And that is where I'll stop for now. Next session Friday! Seeya then!
>>
>>19645034

Ah, right. Let's get to HQ then.

>>19644907

I'm guessing you don't mean "tool" in the asinine person sense. Well, even though everything we know is kinda bungled up right now... we do know that you are Cheryl and that you're here. We'll stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you and the rest of our crew to the end. From Time-cleaver wielding holy knights to reasonable Space Marines to avaricious white mages.

Yea, I suppose the next move is to travel to the TSAB outpost. We haven't hold them about S.T.O.B yet and we could announce our 'recent' discovery of the Orz.

How about we go to 'normal' Starcraft canon in order to get the tanks and materials required for training spectres.

About research I do think we should transfer some of the scientists until 50% are working on Psi shields. I also think we should work on Synthetic Elerium.
>>
Before the thread on Friday:
Are we locking in research at:
25% Foreign Reality Emitter
25% Dimensional Stabilizer
30% Psi Shield
20% WilyCorp DataCore

Also, I've got TGS Nocturne down for the Nyx Supercarrier; any ideas for the Hiigaran Shipyard?

Our next few steps seem to be generally agreed upon.
The Engineering queue is currently:
1. Install S2 Organ into Mecha-Godzilla
2. Equip Mad Cats with Lesser S2 Organs
3. Install Teleporters on the All Under Heaven (possibly include the Relentless and the two dropships)

We still need confirmation on the amount of Aglaophotis-A toxigun magazines that has been readied.
>>
>>19649908
>confirmation on the amount of Aglaophotis-A toxigun magazines
Oh wait, we have enough for a single squad, with a few reloads probably.

Along with the Aglaophotis-A Gas Grenades, I suppose that'll have to do.
