((Previous thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/19628361/ ))

((Summary: Doomguy kicked your shit in, twice. Since you were immortal, you put yourself to sleep until he died of old age. When you woke up, your throne was broken, your castle trashed, and a succubus was living in your room, the hells from all worlds crushed into one wild mishmash.))

You have since repaired an eighth of your throne, feeling more power return to you. A small army has blossomed under your careful manipulation of the souls that make up all living things into new demons. You have taken the loyalty of the Succubus with the Oldest Game, and now, you walk to your throne and seat yourself.

While your throne is still shattered, it has restored some of your greatness.

Your current abilities:

You can mold souls into new bodies.

While souls decay over time outside of a body, your presence limits this.

You can expend souls to create a powerful jet of all-consuming fire.

You currently have 80 souls among your minions, and 20 in your 'possession'. [Any discrepency that can be proved will be corrected]

Lord of Demons, what is your next action?

There is a key on the left and right sides of your keyboard, below the caps lock key, and the enter/return key. It is labeled shift, and should it be pressed at the same time as a letter key, that letter will be typed in UPPERCASE. Shocking, I know.

Also have we cleared out the palace yet, and if not, what areas are left?

alright, here we goOOOOOGODHOWDOISTOP
>>
>>19725465
You have cleared out your castle. The endless dungeons below it may still have infestation, but the door into that area is sealed perfectly - you do not have the power yet to open it. Also, the place is still a huge mess...

If the castle itself is clear (catacombs notwithstanding), then we should set to cleaning up the estate grounds as a whole, or the general surrounding area. If we're in the most prime of prime real estate as the information broker said, we should establish ourselves and our domain before we go branching out.

Ask the Succubus about current events, since we've been out of it for a while and she's more up on the situation than we are.

Find more of Doomguy's arms cache. The minions of Hell had a really nasty habit of leaving medkits and crates of ammo out and about for him to pick up, so there's probably something around here.

Can we assense for other pieces of our throne, or is that beyond us?
>>
>>19725586
And then we made another.
>>
>>19725542
Ice-punchy thing was Shatterbeast, not shatterer.

Did the Nebulate die when it flew down that Pinky's throat?

Anyway, send the Carrywing and an Aispei passenger to survey the surroundings of the castle.
>>
>>19725602
Also, get some imps and hell knights to clean this place up. See if the Bruiser Brothers are dicking around somewhere.
>>
nuts.wad was here. All other demon lords are babies.
>>
>>19725542
You might be working off an old set of monsters: we should have at least four Knights, five Hounds, however many Pigmen there were, and two "a skinny, black-skinned demon with eyes like silver, arms ending in long spikes of bone. They are excellent at stealth and very fast."

I'll just go through the old thread for troop lists.
>>
Question: if the Cyberdemon was a "bitch-and-a-half" to create since it unionized hell magic and technology, then what about the revenants, the mancubi, and the arachnotrons, to say nothing of the spider mastermind?

Also, one soul = one Lost Soul, I reckon? If we're in the area, we can turn all our souls into Lost Souls and zerg rush the enemy.
>>
>>19725617
The surrounding courtyard and grounds are as you remember them: Lifeless, covered in withered trees. The earth shifts and changes between the cardinal directions, as well as subcardinals. It seems a total of 8 hells border you! This is interesting.

>>19725682
((Thank you. This is the current set: we should have at least four Knights, five Hounds, however many Pigmen there were, and two "a skinny, black-skinned demon with eyes like silver, arms ending in long spikes of bone. They are excellent at stealth and very fast." ))

>>19725621
Casually, you create a workforce of seven imps, three souls a piece. One is missing an arm, but that is fine. You direct them to clean the various areas. You are now out of free-floating souls.

>>19725693
Indeed, many of them required several extra souls simply to bridge the gap between hell-flesh and machines. The Lost Souls were created by infusing a single soul into a skull. You even automated this with the Pain Elemental, which ate bodies and shat Lost Souls. However, Lost Souls are very weak, and easy to kill.

You ask the Succubus, who is now blonde and slightly tanned with green eyes, what the current political situation is. She says, offhand, that she knows Diablo is currently having a large-scale war with floating jellyfish that shoot explosive fireballs and zombie pigmen, and this is holding most of his attention to the south. The areas that have a metallic look to them are highly dangerous to lone sentients, as well.
>>
How can we acquire more souls?

That seems to be the big limiting factor on our power.
>>
>>19725753
Floating jellyfish? Doesn't ring a bell.

I think the best thing for us to do now is get this place tidy and presentable before we go overextending ourselves to kick everyone else's ass.
Did we leave any notes for ourselves before we went to sleep?
>>
So, do we chose a side in the battle to the south or do we exploit the distraction and fuck them both?
>>
Looks like it's time to raid one of the nearby hells for souls

>>19725811
the only floating jellyfish I can think of are from Asura's wrath

The jellyfish are a minecraft reference. Because someone requested it.

Side with Diablo, he has a cooler name, also probably has stronger troops.
>>
Man, if hell is split in a nine-way civil war, I wonder what heaven will think of us and if they plan to do anything about it. Probably not, since we'll be too busy killing ourselves trying to establish control. Still, once we start asserting ourselves and gaining control, we should probably keep an eye skyward to see if those dickass angels are planning anything.

>>19725832
Too soon to tell, though I'm inclined to spontaneously pincer the jellyfish with Diablo's forces out of nowhere and wipe them out quickly. It begs the question if we shoot for alliances or aim to quash absolutely everything.
>>
According to the last thread, we should have:

Hounds x7
Knight x5(one injured)
Carrywing x1
Pounce x3
Miner x1
Shatterbeast x1
Marleb x1
Pigmen x10+
Stealth-thing x2
Succubus x1

Didn't count souls.

I nearly missed that we melted down the butcher for souls.
>>
Can we see Dracula's Castle (Castlevania) from here?
>>
>>19725881
>Still, once we start asserting ourselves and gaining control, we should probably keep an eye skyward to see if those dickass angels are planning anything.

If we get too uppity, they might just go and drag DOOM out of cold storage, like the Saint of Killers.
>>
>>19725881

Alliances are a good idea.

If we take 3 provinces out of the 9 (could be more, just not boredering us) then people will turn on us before we control >50% of the land. If we ally with one we lose less troops invading it as it enters our sphere of influence without us killing its troops, so are in a better poition to fight everyone else.

Ally with Diablo, kill Minecraft.
>>
>>19725903
Don't joke about that. Next you'll tell me they have the Belmont clan on standby.
>>
>>19725881
Any alliances in hell will be temporary at best, we just need to find out how to eek the most help out of them as we can before they turn on us. That is if we want allies in the first place.
>>
>>19725928
It is the nature of evil beings to joke about being slain by heaven's soldiers right up to the moment that they are slain by heaven's soldiers.
>>
>>19725921
There's 8 provinces neatly divided between the cardinal and subcardinal directions, and our castle is smack dead in the middle of this pie chart as region 9. Anyone looking to make a power place either has to move adjacent or go through us.
>>
>>19725887
I think it would be worth it to burn a few souls and bring us up to 10 pounce. You can never have to many things willing to die for you.
>>
>>19725953

>It seems a total of 8 hells border you!

I thought this implied that there are 8 on our borders (I pictured it as a grid) and then potentially there are more bordering them on the other side (so rather than a 3by3 grid, it could be 4by4, 3by4 etc.).
>>
>>19725997
Yes, there are eight sectors that all border us directly. If there's anything beyond those, that's anyone's guess. Until we find out otherwise, we're to assume that our castle is dead center of this hell clusterfuck.
>>
>>19725921
It seems you have something of a plan. You will, for the moment, ally with Diablo to kill the vaguely cubic menace you're calling "Minecraft".

But first - Souls.

In order, clockwise from north: A fiery plateau with cities of brass upon it - strange, warped beings stumble over it. Then, a land similar to yours, covered in strange trees that point to the sky with sharp branches. Odd beasts lurk in this land. Third, a land made of what appears to be fleshy heads arrayed like cobblestones, with great beasts trudging across it. Fourth, a downward slope leads into a massive pit with many flying beasts over it. Fifth, a warzone - between beasts of bone and steel, ghostly apparitions, horned and winged firebreathers weilding massive blades, and horrifying things that spit corpses as projectiles, fighting dark cubes filled with magma, columns of floating smoke that launch fire, floating jellyfish that scream and launch balls of white, explosive fire, and zombie pigmen.

Next after that, a great land of lava and stone, leading to a great castle. Moving again, a maze of steel and blood, finally, an old city, silent and seemingly abandoned, ablaze and rusted.
>>
>>19726021

But yeah.

Attack the Jellies?
>>
>Third, a land made of what appears to be fleshy heads arrayed like cobblestones, with great beasts trudging across it.

Let's raid this place and look for out throne stones
>>
I say let the Nether and Diablo fight it out. The war is keeping Diablo distracted and his forces committed - once the Nether falls, he'll turn his attention (and his insanely powerful soldiers, the Butcher said it was just one of his scouts) to us.
>>
Ok so we need creatures to keep the air clear when we start our bloody soul gathering crusade. How about a large ape like creature with a string of muscles along its spine used to fire large spikes at long range.
>>
>>19726133
So like an anti-air gorilla? Seems good, though we are of course out of souls, and we may want to give it a flexible neck so it can both look up and see areal targets and lie down to aim at things on the ground and be able to look at things other than the literal ground.

As for where to go, cobblestone place seems as good as most others.

>>
>>19726203
1st thread we melted down butcher for 80 souls.
If all else fails melt 2 pigmen they are worth 10 souls apiece, I think 20 souls will do nicely for a good artillery creature.
>>
>>19726108
Agreed. We let predisposed enemies deal with each other before we swoop in and smash them all. Anyway, we spent the last of our souls making some imps to make our castle presentable. We can't clean our own catacombs yet, so we can't harvest from there. Plus, we don't want to leave our castle undefended if we go out on an excursion. It's why I suggested getting everything in working order before we go a-cavorting through hell.
>>
I'm >>19725887.
I just realized that I forgot to get rid of the pounce. We shouldn't have any.

Also we have a nebulate if it didn't die when it flew down the Pinky's throat (nothing written about it one way or the other), and I could swear the Miner got killed, but I can't find anything saying it did.

>>
>>19726242
You noted something interesting about the pigmen - they are organized into tribes of ten, it seems, and when one is harmed, the rest of the tribe assails the malefactor. It is almost disturbing the violence they are capable of - One of Diablo's soldiers falls before them like wet paper, shredded by the golden blades.

>>19726203
>>19726095
Who shall you bring, among your current forces, and who shall be left behind?
>>
Given that we don't want to involve ourselves too deeply in war, why not work out what we need to enter our catacombs, and maybe send something to scout the abandoned city? (something very expendable)
>>
>>19726349
Let's just bring an honor guard to escort us as we take a look around. Two Knights and Marleb shall walk with us. I don't want to leave the castle undefended and have it overrun the moment we leave.
>>19726369
We can't enter the catacombs, period. They're sealed.
>>
Have diablo/jellies even NOTICED us yet?

if not, i vote for staying under the radar for a while longer and checking out those catacombs, we really seem like we need more forces
>>

If we have to harvest anything, get rid of some Knights and a few Hounds. The Pigmen are a good defensive patrol for the castle.

Also the shootybits on the back of the apes should be greyish, so we can call them Silverbacks.

BTW I added a compass to that hell map somebody made
>>
>>19726407
hmm then what of the city what do we know about it? going into a war with only an honor guard to back us up doesn't seem too great of a plan
>>
Leave the Pigmen, 5 hounds, the succubus, and three Knights. Take the rest.
>>
actually can we capture enemy troops and melt them down for souls? would we get a bonus compared to just ripping them out? (which is what i assume or plan is)
>>
>>19726407

I'd say take all the Hounds and Knights. Just because if shit kicks off and we have to peg it, fast moving stuff is more likely to escape, so would minimise losses.

Plus for defending if our castle gets sieged, speed isn't that important.
>>
>>19726427
There's no war there (yet).
>>19726479
Fair enough. We'll leave Marleb and the rest at home while we take a strong contingent and go on a walkabout. We're stronger now that part of our throne is restored, so we should be able to take care of ourselves a little better.
>>
>>19726479
makes sense.

Should we send a scout to the city as well?
>>
This is >>19726451, revoting with more specific plans.

Hounds x3 stay x4 come
Knight x3(one injured) stay x2 come
Carrywing x1 come
Miner x1 stay
Shatterbeast x1 come if faster than a slow plod, else stay
Marleb x1 stay
Pigmen x10 stay
Stealth-thing x2 come
Succubus x1 stay
>>
>>19726537

I'd say don't overextend. The head place sounds like an open plane, hard to get ambused in. A city? Risky as fuck.

Just take the fast shit, have a wander round the head place, have some banter while on tour, and come home for tea.
>>
>>19726479
>>19726497
We should at least also bring the carrywing and the stealth-things, they're more useful with us and on the attack, respectively
>>
>>19726576
>>19726555

Hounds x7 come
Knight x3(one injured) stay x2 come
Carrywing x1 come
Miner x1 stay
Shatterbeast x1 stay
Marleb x1 stay [I Don't Know What This Is]
Pigmen x10 stay
Stealth-thing x2 come
Succubus x1 stay

No point taking big beasty, anyhing that can't go fast shouldn't come. I'm not sure about stealth things, because i'd say we don't want to split up too much, so scouts aren't that useful, but i'll cave if you want them. Hounds are worthless defenders, but great on a hunt, I say take them all.
>>
>>19726610
Marleb is our first Hero Spirit, a very powerful soul.
>>
>>19726555
>>19726610

Seven hounds, two knights, a carrywing, a Shatterbeast, and the stealthy creatures follow you on the way out, as you head into the strange land of heads. The great beasts seem even stronger than you saw them from your scout - Great lumbering things of teeth and maws, each built of at least a hundred souls. They could easily double as seige engines, but do not seem very intelligent.
Aside from them, which seem oddly complacent, the place is mostly empty.
>>
>>19726628
Hundred-soul siege engines? Hm. I'm not sure if we can take these things on at our current state, if we should come back later. Still, nothing ventured, nothing gain. Let's take on one, see how far we can get against it. If we can down it and gain its souls, then we'll be in great shape.
>>
>>19726655

Rather than fighting them, can't we just try tame them?

>>19726628

Complacent or complient?
>>
>>19726655
Let's not do this. Maybe send a Stealth-thing to climb one and try cut it's throat, but otherwise fuck this noise.
>>
>>19726672
I know we're a crafter and a leader, but I'm not sure how good of a beast-tamer we are.
>>

Next hell, counterclockwise.
>>
>>19726725

>>
>>19726699
You command a Steath to attempt to clamber it, but it is literally a sphere with four legs, covered in mouths. He stands atop it, and shrugs. You command it to climb back down.

When you turn around, one of the heads has thrusted an arm free of the earth, and is attempting to climb out.
>>
Get away from it, one of the beasts is probably going to eat it or stomp on it or something.
>>
i vote for pulling the head out of the ground and tossing it at the cannon beast.

[Total lack of concensus!]

Uncertain what to do, you watch the creature rise, relocating his head briefly. Four more erupt from the ground as the large beast runs away, and your knights move to defend you as you realize they are armed. Another four erupt behind the initial five, resulting in nine.

have our demons charge, keep one of the knights back to protect us. if possible have our demons fight with psychotic aggression with no effort spent on defense. we can remake our fallen so even if they all die we come out ahead if even on of the new monster is so much as wounded.
