What a night. After defeating Tassadar and deciding not to immediately murder Khas like a cackling, pure evil monstrosity, we managed to convince Kerrigan to fly to Xenta and give us a hug. To celebrate, Artisanlord threw the biggest party the Swarm has ever known.

We have pictures of Kerrigan hugging us, an aerial group photo of all our cerebrates together, and one or two embarrassing pictures of a tipsy Warbrate trying to join the limbo line.

Now, everybody is recuperating and chuckling at the obscene things somebody drew on Toaster's bandages, and we wonder to ourselves what we should do next. The only things not fully infested are the Koprulu Terrans and Khas' loyalist Protoss.

Well, first we try to make some of them heavy carriers. Then 'm thinking we start a new line of battlecrusiers that have protoss reactors and a carrier bean cannon instead of the yamatto. Also, more of everything. Then we destroy the protoss military, revive the Overmind, and let lim finish off infesting the protoss. And the whole while wee keep a eye out for the reaming dark templar, who I assume are being lead by Zeratul. Also, since google tried to make an AI, you have to retcon VoidGate into liking silly cat videos.

And aside from Toaster's nuke, which are being moved, the old guard don't really have broods of their own. Gorn and Warbrate share our army, but aside from what is basically administrative staff, the old guard don't have a drone to their names. And remember, we have emitters, and we er able to control Araq with one, so a juvenile overmind should be no problem.

Labbrate, Nargil, and Internbrate take Kerrigan to the most advanced bio-lab we have. They meticulously test her DNA, psionic emanations, and infestation effects before anything is done to her at all. Finally, they sedate her, and begin the procedure, modifying brain tissue and tweaking some of her genetics, as well as probing and encouraging psionically. After four hours of work, during which we are a complete mess of nerves, she comes to, her infested skin already knitting together the incisions without scar.

After a brief period of rest and recovery, our Science Corps puts her through some basic psionic tests and, after comparing results, finds that the procedure was a success. Kerrigan's psionic abilities are far more powerful than they were before, and it is very likely that she will be too strong for the Overmind to control unless she consciously decides to submit to it.

What a relief! We almost feel like WE were the one having surgery.

Now, we must again ask ourselves whether we should revive the Overmind.

Look at how mighty we have grown when traveling our own path. Though the Overmind was aiming for a pure Zerg/Protoss hybrid strain, he DID create Us and Kerrigan to be purposefully different than the rest of the Swarm. Perhaps he foresaw that his path was not the correct one, or that there was more than one way to victory. Without the UED or the Protoss, or even Kingston (after tricking him), defeating the new enemies that came along to threaten our very existence would have been a very difficult task. We learned from the Terrans and the Protoss, and that made us that much stronger. Yet, if they were infested, they may not have came up with the things that made us stronger and/or more effective than the original Swarm. We are capable of subterfuge and diplomacy, and nurturing as well as annihilating. We should not be afraid of trying new things and re-inventing the Swarm. It worked out well enough for some.

Perhaps there is more than one route to achieving purity of essence than a Zerg-dominated universe. I'm leaning towards not reviving the Overmind, but I think we should at least let him hear us out, if it is possible to speak to him without reviving him.
