Henrich is cowering, and you can see that it's partly fear but also partly anger, as you stand and ask him questions. You ask him to tell you about the monsters outside the city, but he says he won't - that would summon them.

'You must be truly new, to think that just talking about something won't make it appear. Young man, you don't know what it's like to actually be a Psych. To have your thoughts pushed into everyone else's, and vice versa...'

'If you joined the Free Comm, they can help you with that! Look, I know how it is...' which is true. You've banged brains out before, knocked people into concussions, turned an entire dorm into your personal army for 10 minutes... 'I know how it is, and I know it can be controlled...'

'Bullshit. It can't be controlled. I've tried.' He stands, unsteadily. 'I've tried. I... heh. You're doing this all for that girl, aren't you? Mind, she's a cute one.'

You blink as he changes tack in his conversation; and then you feel a jab against your mind which you push aside with some difficulty. Damnit. He seems determined to resist, this Henrich...

> What do/say?
> Also, you sense the presence of some students outside now - must be people clearing up. Lynn is not among them.
>>
>>19749243

Damn. It seems there's no point in talking to him now.

We need to go, move those other people away, and then call someone and talk more about this. No idea what the procedure for this kind of psych is...
>>
>>19749304
Yeah but it's not like we know a lot of things. I doubt the free comm would think we would even try to confront this guy after calling for some help. Anyways we might as well leave this guy ain't gonna talk anymore. I guess the thing we should do is call Kevin.
>>
>>19749304

You sigh as the pressure pushes against you insistently, and then reach for the door. Henrich stands up, however, and looks at you.

'What are you here for, anyway?' he says, a little puzzled. 'Why are you here? Are you here to destroy me? To force me to join you? What?'

Backed against the door, you find yourself resisting his mental attack without much trouble. He clearly hasn't managed to glean into your thoughts very clearly...

> What do/say?
>>
>>19749382

'Neither. It's none of your business.'

Is Lynn anywhere? man I really don't know what to do now. We've got to keep everything straight and organise our investigation.
>>
>>19749382
I didn't even know you were here until I noticed you while helping out with the project.

My goals are pretty simple, keep an eye on signs for a Creation and make sure the people I like don't end up getting hurt.

I came to see you because you were an unknown factor and I was curious. Now would you mind not trying to poke around in my head, it's annoying.
>>
>>19749446

What was your hunch?
>>
Nothing I just had a hunch about you but it looks like I was wrong. Seriously though you came this city at the worst time possible and it looks like you just can't catch a break. Well see ya later Henrich
>>
>>19749460
That he was behind this creation thing but he wasn't. Well it looks like he isn't
>>
>>19749472
>>19749463
>>19749460
>>19749458
>>19749449

You tell him it's none of his business - you aren't sure if he ought to know about the Creation thing you are here to look at. And since he's been searching but hasn't gleaned it, it might well be what he's looking for.

Leaving the teacher's office, you see that the few students - most of them Mayne Parish girls - have already gone off towards the school gate. Seriously, this campus is vast - you didn't even notice half of it while working in the theatre.

Now, at night, you can see the floodlit expanse of the sports field and track, and further behind that a trail of lights mark out a path through a forest. There's something.... strange about that forest. It seems somehow familiar...

... also, you realise Laura and Clemence are both in that group of girls walking away. Lynn is nowhere to be sensed, though.

> What do/say now? To organise your info you can go back home now and do it...
>>
Also, as you're wondering, you feel your phone vibrate. It's a text from Samantha.

She says she's coming over to help you with your little thing, whatever it is. Seriously, that girl just seems so... nonchalant about everything.
>>
>>19749524
Might as well go home and "organize" although we don't have a lot to info to organize we got a good head start I guess.
>>
>>19749524
I think that Laura and Clemence can get home without us, however this forest is suspicious as hell.

Does it seem to resemble the forest we saw when we looked at Lynn's sculpture? We'll probably find more on the Creation there, though we might stumble into another oddity.

>>19749574
Well given that we have backup incoming we should wait for her arrival to head into the strange forest, we'll meet her at the gates or something like that.
>>
>>19749596

I really don't think we should head into the forest now. We have time to investigate, and the forest might be more dangerous at night.
>>
rolled 11, 7 = 18

>>19749524
We're in the mayne parish school ?
I'd like to check the toilets where laura was shut in.

Rolling for seeing if we've gleaned the location from Laura and for obfuscation to get there.
>>
>>19749611
More dangerous just means we might find out more.
>>
>>19749596

You think that might be the resemblance... but then, given that Lynn studies here and sees the forest every day, that might not be significant.

Or maybe that very fact makes the place significant. In any case, you can sense clearly the whispers of many minds in this campus. Teenage is an active, confused time, and the place is full of voices.

You ask Sam when she's coming, and she says she'll come over next morning. She's got some work to do. Shrugging, you move off and are about to head for the gate when you sense Lynn emerging from the theatre, some forty or fifty metres away.

... The thoughts emanating from her seem rather fatigued, but focused nonetheless. You catch hints that she's aware of how frustrated the team is, but that she really simply has to do the project this way...

> What do/say? You're almost at the gate and out of the school now.
>>
>>19749635

The toilet's appearance is far too generic. You do know it's in the tower block, but...

You turn around and look at the four storey tower block, with an even higher tower. Floodlights illuminate the clock face. It... hmm. You don't really know where to start looking, even...
>>
>>19749652
Walk slowly, if Lynn is leaving the school too a "fortuitous" meeting could be useful, but don't go after her too obviously.
>>
>>19749668
Oh well, then we'll be back later.
>>
>>19749708
>>19749698

Well, since Lynn appears to have given you permission to come any time you want to help, that is true. Come think of it, is Lynn even authorised to make that decision? She's just a student, isn't she, even if she's a society leader?

Shrugging, you turn around and synchronise your footsteps so that you reach the gate just as Lynn is about to... oh. It's locked. You watch as the girl, dressed in a sleeveless t-shirt and shorts which show her legs splashed all over with paint, cracks her knuckles and then clambers up onto the gate, vaulting over the top.

There is, for a moment, some sense of release and freedom there which shines through you. As you stand there, she notices you, while straddling the top of the gate.

'You still here? Come on then.' She flips down the other side and beckons.

>>
>>19749801
Wow good for me for rolling a 92 so we are jumping the gate then? Well no time like the present
>>
We have to call Kevin to tell him about it all.

I want to know more about creations. We've experienced a big psychic effect when we touched the bull. But the bull isn't thinking, so I wonder : did it come directly all the way from Lynn (or/and some other people), or did the bulll store it as some kind of energy ?
That's important. If the bull stored it all and can release it, we might be able to "purify" it and ensure that its presentation for the festival will go well. If it comes directly from living people, it'll be a much more problematic and delicate affair to "purify" them - and we might have to prevent the bull from appearing at the festival. Or at least that's my guesses.
Ask Kevin about that, and about how would we go about cleaning an object or a person from a developping creation, and if that's even possible.
>>
>>19749853
Stuff we can do when we get home or the next morning. It's not gonna appear over night but yeah those ARE things we have to do.
>>
>>19749801
>>19749835

Ah, please - as a hobo, you've climbed things worse than these. Come think of it, if only you'd known about this place when you were a hobo - it'd be a fine place to make a nest, for sure.

Clambering over effortlessly despite your tiredness, you plop down beside Lynn, who nods approvingly. 'You're pretty agile.'

'Cheers.'

'Maybe I'll have you be one of the riggers when the day comes around,' she continues. 'You know. Just to rig stuff up.'

What, the art society has to do the rigging itself as well? Huh. Meanwhile Lynn's thoughts are those of a certain... urgency. It seems the work needs to be done by this week, just so it can be approved and all that for the carnival. In her hand there's a folder of forms. She's really taking on a lot of work...

'Where do you live?' she says, snapping out of it and pointing the way to the bus stop.

> What do/say? She clearly takes a bus home, so she doesn't live too near here...
>>
>>19749871
>>19749853

You'll ask Kevin in the morning, or later when you get back. Right now, Lynn's here...
>>
>>19749872
We could just tell her and ask where she lives as well.
>>
>>19749801
Do this

>>
>>19749871
>>19749923
Yeah, just typing it out for later.
>>
>>19749872
Wondering how much paperwork she has to do anyways.
>>
>>19749872
In walking distance this way, but I think I'll take that bus.

What are those forms for ? Do the students take on all the preparations for this festival ?
>>
>>19749872
Wait ask her why the art society has to do the rigging as well. It just seems weird or was that just a joke because with her it just confusing.
>>
>>19749872
Ask her out of the blue, if she could choose a superpower for herself, what would it be ?
>>
>>19749924
>>19749966

You tell her, and she nods. 'How about you?'

'Oh, it depends,' she says. 'I was going to sleep on the floor inside, but... it's a bit chilly tonight.'

Says the girl who's wearing sleeveless t-shirts and shorts. 'So, is that all your paperwork?'

'Yep. Henrich is rubbish for this. He's just pushed everything on to me...' Lynn sighs. 'I'm sorry. But between this and all that work, I'm just a bit tired. Might even get cranky sometimes. So it was Laura who told you about this thing, was it? Why'd you even volunteer to help paint stuff?'

You've been asked this by her before; you wonder if she's forgotten. Her mind is still bright, but somehow it seems tinged by blurriness. Exhaustion, probably. Or something else...?

> What do/say/ask?
>>
>>19750032
>>19749986
>>19749979

Will ask these later. (Sorry, eating stuff now.)

More questions welcome, then I'll collate them.
>>
>>19750043
We told her that we aren't a schoolboy presently ?
If so, tell her that we got bored, and curious about schoolboy experiences we're missing out on.
>>
>>19750106
We did that why she let us help to begin with
>>
>>19750106
Also, I got into drawing and painting recently. I thought I would be nice occasion to practice with you people. It was. I'll be back.
>>
>>19750043
Why did YOU volunteer for all that work ? It seems like my involvement is a walk in the park compared to what you're doing.
>>
>>19750106
>>19750032
>>19749986

'Well... I just want to see what a normal student is doing, and what I'm missing out on.'

'I think you're getting more than that, aren't you,' she says with a slightly mocking smile. She catches you looking at her legs. It's just the smears of paint, really!

'Yeah, well, I can get good deals if I want to. So wait. You said the art soc has to do all the rigging as well? Don't you get professionals to do that?'

'School normally does, but this year there was some cock-up,' Lynn sighs. 'So we've cut back on the big and dangerous banners, of course, but there's still things that need stringing up. I was just joking, actually. You don't have to do anything like that.'

It seems everything's been going wrong this year for her... you pop her the question about superpowers, and then stand back and let your mind run over hers. She's actually flipping over and visualising different powers now, starting from superstrength and going through speed and flying and laser eyes... and then suddenly you hear yourself gasp, as a stab of heat runs through your left hand.

'Eh? You all right?'

'Uh, yeah.'

'Anyway I was saying - I'd cut out the middleman in art, and just make people feel the emotion I want them to feel. Then I could pee paint on a canvas and make millions anyway.' Lynn sighs. 'I could probably think of something cooler, Dylan, but I'm tired. Oh, here's the bus...'

You see the bus coming down. It technically doesn't go to your place, but you suspect Lynn doesn't quite know...

> What do? Leave her? Take the bus?
>>
>>19750191
It feels like a walk in a park too. I'm relaxing, exercising somewhat, and enjoying the sights. I had an interesting day.
>>
>>19750213
No way man Dylan is tired and he can play detective another day. Let's just go home for now. "See ya Lynn"
>>
>>19750157
>>19750191
>>19750229

'Hmm? Oh... I didn't really volunteer,' Lynn sighs. 'I kinda got volunteered. By Henrich.'

... damn, everything seems to lead back to him. 'Like how?'

'Oh, he just said that as the chairperson of the Art Soc, I should take care of it myself. That's not what happens every time, see. Didn't even happen last year. But he was quite insistent, Henrich... so yeah. Anyway, you getting on the bus?'
>>
Well, we could at least go with her until we get to whichever stop is closest to our place, we might be able to get some more out of her about henrich.
>>
>>19750267
>>19750213
No, I live that way actually. See you tomorrow, probably.
>>
>>19750250
Let's just do what I said over here
>>
>>19750356
>>19750345
Well, if it can get us a little closer to home, get on. If it goes the other way completely, then don't. We'll continue talking another time. Multiplying the contacts is good to get closer in the end. I read about that in a manga.
>>
>>19750356
>>19750250

Lynn smiles, and waves at you a little as she gets into the bus. Seriously, she's cute, both to your eyes and your mind. You have to wonder...

... no, first things first. You get back to your place, have a quick shower, and then try to organise everything you've figured out.

> The bull appears to be holding energy of some sort.
> Lynn is very protective about the sculpture, though she doesn't seem to know its powers.
> Henrich is behind Lynn getting involved in this. What interest does he have?
> You need to know more about the whole process of Creation. Or maybe the point is that nobody really knows... nah, that can't be. You'll call Kev.
> Laura... you don't know about her. The slender blonde girl who seems to be torn between jumping you and jumping away from you.
> What else can you think of that needs going in here?
>>
>>19750401

It goes in a different direction, it seems. Man, you're not very sure. You don't normally take buses.

Anyway, you're home now. It's nearly 11... you didn't realise it, what with the summer sun. Does Lynn work like this every day?

Also, is Henrich in school still? Does *he* stay there like this every day?

> Ooh, sorry about that mate, but you're a bit late with that conversation.

You look around your flat at night - lights off, but still with the city's glow in the distance illuminating the place - and it seems you kind of understand what it means to be seeing memories now.

You can, for example, see vaguely the scene of your little confrontation with those ruggers, and Tamsin. You hope to hell she's all right... there's also Laura, and her strange, urgent but vacillating sense of desire. She wants you... then suddenly she's scared of you.

There's something weird about that. Something links the two of them and you can sense it. They are both, in some way, under control owing to their memories and thoughts making them vulnerable...

Thinking about that, you go to sleep. When you get up again, it's 6 in the morning, and the pattering of a rainstorm against the windowpanes makes you sit up and look out. You can hardly see across the lake now, for the rain.

You feel strangely tired. Sleep doesn't really refresh you anymore, it appears. Your mind reaches out and senses the housekeepers doing their work. A handyman's re-plastering something. A mother in her forties is wondering why her kids aren't answering her calls as she chips at grease in the kitchen.

This isn't much to live on...

> Do anything in particular?

Before we go to sleep, I want to expand our list of neighbours. Ultimately, I want to learn about them and get enough material to try to learn how to drain people selectively and latch on for long periods of time, to spare other people around from the drain.
It could be useful, if Laura or someone like her wants to spend time with us.
Rolling to get to know our neighbours.

Eat, then spend some time on 4chan. Or do both at the same time.
>>
>>19750532
>Something links the two of them and you can sense it.
I wonder if we're oversensing things. Tamsin was under the control of some psych, but maybe the similarity with Laura was just that they both have mundane emotional problems.
Or maybe we're making Laura our thrall without trying to.
>>

>>19750577
Second and rolling
>>
>>19750599
>>19750577
>>19750554

You have to admit, 6 in the morning is not the best time to be trying to probe the neighbours. At least you don't do any damage, you think...

... until you pick up a little morning domestic squabble from the flat downstairs. Well, that's normal, isn't it... right? Right.

You get on 4chan while eating some cereal that you bought from Resno. It doesn't taste brilliant, but heck, you've had worse... there's nothing much going on in 4chan now. The game Gaols and Golems is getting a new edition, and everyone seems to be talking about it now. But you don't really know what they're talking about.

There's a thread that's quite active, about a turf fight between rival factions of magicians. There's also a quest thread about running your own little kingdom now. Ah, that sounds nice. You'd play it if you had the time...

... just then, you sense someone entering the building - a Psych. Huh. It turns out that it's Samantha, looking very bored. Her hair, brown with new red highlights, is dripping wet; she walks in and quickly grabs a towel.

'Hmm. So, how've you been since we last met Dylan?' She sounds unusually authoritative for someone who's been a psych all of three months... 'also, has it occurred to you that so many of the psychs now are busy? You reckon it's got something to do with the riots?'

> What do/say?
>>
>>19750532
>You feel strangely tired.
Do we feel like our need for substenance is increasing ? We spent a lot of time yesterday with people full of energy, it's surprising that it didn't satiate us for the whole night.
>>
>>19750667
Well no. I thought it was normal.

And I wandered around quite a lot these last days and didnt sense one noticeable thought about the riots.
Come to think of it, that's unexpected.
>>
rolled 59 = 59

>>19750667
Rolling to learn more about this squabble and the people involved.
If nothing else, that's our morning exercises.
>>
>>19750667
You're a bit early. I called for help with the mess at that highschool, but I don't think we should get there before 10 or so... Are you busy too, or or are you okay with spending some idle time here ?
>>
>>19750744

You can tell that it's a couple, and they're arguing over their kids, of whom there are two. Come think of it, two sixty year olds with a fifteen year old daughter and a thirteen year old son... couple must have taken their time, you reckon.

They're talking about whether it's too much pressure on the kids to make them learn the piano and the violin and French at the same time. She thinks it isn't; he thinks it is. And the kids are just getting ready to get to school...

>>19750679
>>19750715

Oh, you do feel your appetite increasing. But you don't feel particularly exhausted - you just realise that sleep, on its own, doesn't make you feel better anymore. Yesterday you did have a pretty intense time of it with the bull and with the painting, so that did balance out the amount of energy you were taking in...

'Riots? I didn't feel anyone think about the riots. That's odd.'

'Maybe because it's on the other side of the city?' Sam shrugs. 'Anyway, okay. My fault, it wasn't really a riot. More of a protest.'

Sheesh. Protests are like, thirty times a day in the city. And anyone who tried to riot in this weather... got to give it to them for bravery. Sam gets her hair dried, and then plonks on the couch. 'So, what am I being sent here to do? Dawn was like 'oh, poor Dylan might need help, do go take a look!''

You wonder where Dawn is... actually, even Sam seems a bit tense. There appears to be something you weren't being told, maybe, about the functioning of the Free Comm.

> What do/say?

>>19750831
Just relay the info about Henrich and the Bull. Lynn involved to
>>
>>19750873
And the hallucinations as well
>>
>>19750831
Well, I feel like I need help with everything I'm doing...

I initially asked Kevin for help with an unknown psych that's teaching art at the school Kev sent me to. He's involved with what feels like a nascent creation... but after telling Kevin I talked to that guy, and he wasn't really strong. Surprising, for someone who stayed a year teaching there under the comm's radar. He also claimed to be on his own, and just here to feed comfortably off young minds, while out of reach from the country's monsters, whatever they are - first time I heard about that and he didn't tell me more, what about you ?
>>
>>19750885
>>19750873

You sit down at the couch and notice her clothes are slightly wet. Damnit. At least Numsang won't see this.

Sam nods as you tell her about the bull, about Henrich... and the fact that Henrich is a non-Comm psych. 'Non-comm? But fatherless as well? That's a pretty dangerous position. He could get strong-armed by anybody. From any side.'

'Surely the free comm doesn't do things like that?' You say, deliberately sounding naive. Sam falls for it.

'They do. The free comm can't exert its will over everyone, and it's just as likely that a bastard becomes a psych as a saint.' She leans forward a little. 'Actually, this is interesting. See, what Kev and Lena and Chloe told me about creations is that spontaneous events are rare, and tend to happen at traumatic places. Riots... suicide bombing... things like that. Otherwise it often takes preparation, whether witting or unwitting.'

'Are you saying it's a witting thing? Henrich is preparing for a Creation?' That... now that sounds even more menacing. 'But... what for?'

'What for? A creation can be useful. You possess someone with it, he becomes your slave. Or it makes someone traumatise a whole town, and you feed off it. You know, things like that. Nasty stuff.'

Shit... you tell Sam about the monsters, and she sighs. 'Must be it, then...'

> What do/say then?
>>
>>19750918
Also, I'm having problems with a girl I helped out of a bind at the end of last week. She spent some time here with me after that, and now - well actually she's the one who's having problems. I tried not to mess up her mind, but apparently I failed. I don't know if I'm responsible for all of her confused state, or if some or all of it is a normal emotional reaction. I don't know what to do, or if I should do anything. I'm afraid cutting contact will push her into more emotional troubles of the regular kind, and I'm afraid that I'm psychically messing with her mind just by staying around her.

I'm not sure I should bother you with that, too.
>>
>>19750989
I don't think Sam is the right person to talk to about this, in an earlier thread we discussed asking Dawn if she knew anyone who was good at some sort of psychic psychiatry to help undo our mess.
>>
>>19750960
>'Must be it, then...'
Is she implying that he's planning to use the creation to protect himself from the monsters ?

And then Henrich was the monsters.
>>
>>19750960
Do you want to meet that guy ? He was easily frightened. He could tell us more if you came with me, or he could panic.
>>
>>19750960
What do you know about those "monsters" ? Do they really exist ?
>>
>>19751007
>>19750989

You don't tell Sam in as many words, but you just ask if she knows where Dawn is. 'Need some help for... you know, relations with normal people.'

She raises an eyebrow. Sam is pretty, in a very quizzical, rather doubtful way. And the specs only reinforce that impression. 'Who's this? Is this from the school? Might have something to do with the case, then.'

Actually, she has a point... Laura was your first point of entry into- yes, very funny- into the whole school.

>>19751042
>>19751015

That does seem to be the gist of what she's saying. Or he's going to use the creation... in some way, to strengthen himself. Sam does mention that it's a very silly thing to do, and he's lucky he did this in a free comm zone.

'If he was in any of the territories and fiefdoms, he would've been shredded. Well, who knows? This whole area might become a fiefdom soon. You might have to move out in due course...'

Is it late enough to call Kevin ? If so, >>19749853

>>19751059
>This whole area might become a fiefdom soon. You might have to move out in due course...'

"Is it really going that badly?"
>>
>>19751059
>Might have something to do with the case, then.'
Yeah, she's from the school, but she's not directly involved with the art teacher, the girl he's using, or her sculpture.

Do you have any idea if and how I could detect some kind of link, if there's actually one ?
>>
>>19751099
>>19751090

'What, is it really going so badly?'

'Hmm? Oh, it's a negotiation, not a war... well, that's what they say. But it's no secret that some of the Bestowers have wanted this place for a long time. Two good high schools, one university, thousands of people many of whom are the arty, young sort... it's valuable. You're very lucky, man.'

You don't say, Sam. You excuse yourself to call Kev, and then he asks what you'd like to know.

'... what? Wait, you touched something non-living and got a hallucination?'

'Yeah. So I was wondering, if it's like a battery and it could be, you know, turned off maybe...'

'Wow. Looks like they're even farther along than I thought...' Kev mutters. 'Well, I'm afraid it's more like a conduit than a battery. Yes, the thoughts of the maker get channeled through her creation, but there clearly is other fuel - other strong sentiments. Is the morale among that group maybe rather low? Are people resentful?'

'Oh hell yes.'

'Damn... well, that still can't prove it's a deliberate thing though... someone might be manipulating the situation so that there is plenty of that sentiment. It then gets channeled, via the bull and Lynn, into someone else, which would then become a host to the creation. If it's a deliberate thing, that's how it would work...'

> What do/say?
>>
>>19751146
Well how can I stop the process ? Can I use my own power to "clog" the conduit ?
If it doesn't appear on the day of the festival, will things still happen ?

Í didn't sense anything manipulating the students - except that guy Henrich who convinced Lynn to do it - and I don't think their spirits could be lifted easily. I don't see how they could be brought down either, though.
>>
>>19751146
It's pretty obvious that henrich is purposefully feeding the feelings of resentment. Forcing Lynn to take over and overwork everyone and such.
>>
>>19751206
>Can I use my own power to "clog" the conduit ?
Or maybe make it leak.
>>
>>19751146
Ask him about the monsters H talked about, while we have him on the phone. Are they real ? Are they just in henrich's head, or in everyone's ? Do they really appear if called ?
>>
>>19751146
Can I, or can anyone "brainwash" Lynn so that she doesn't send her sentiments around ?
>>
>>19751206
>>19751208

'If it's gone that far,' Kev pauses to think about it, 'if it's gone that far then there's quite little we can do, actually.'

That... doesn't sound good. Especially if the mental health of a lot of high school girls is going to be at risk.

'What you can do, though, is to find out who it might be that they're trying to host it in, and protect him or her. But that's... not very easy... it's Tuesday today, right?'

'Yeah.'

'Well. Find it out... and perhaps also find out who it is who's behind this. We might be able to help call a stop to it there, though I'm not sure if it would work...'

And with that he hangs up. Wait, what? That seems... strangely ineffectual. You tell Sam about it, and she shrugs.

'Well, there are ways to do things like that, Lena told me before. But they are Winter's ways. Scrubbing minds, injecting memories, even plain old knocking them out. The Free Comm doesn't do those things for most reasons...'

Tsk. Damned rules of engagement. You check the clock; it's 9 now. Sam has started munching on your muesli bars, you notice, and is leaving crumbs on the floor. Seriously, woman!

> What do/say? Also, I'll be off after one or two more posts to watch an event. Thanks for playing, everyone, and so sorry to have stopped this for two weeks!
>>
>>19751257
Oh god don't. This has never, ever worked out well for us.

Also it's really creepy...
>>
>>19751265
Well for starters tell her not to make a mess in our/Namsung's apartment.

Secondly, I think we need to go confront henrich again, we need to find out who he's planning to use as host for this thing if he is actively cultivating this creation, and Sam's belligerent nature might come in useful for once in that regard...
>>
>>19751296
Might as well go to the school now. (Oh God the floor!)

>>19751234
>>19751296

Brainwashing is not recommended. And your hamfisted way of doing it would be like brain surgery with a hammer and chisel. Besides, you've tried probing Lynn before, remember that time when your scalded your hand?

As for those monsters, Kev says they are Creations. The thing is, in a large pond of energy like the city, it takes a lot of effort to make a ripple big enough to disturb things and spark a Creation. But where people are few, and solitude common, a single person's long-term delusions can actually take form. And since Creations often take on a life of their own, you're talking about centuries of crazy people, thinking or doing crazy things, and leaving crazy images of their thoughts to haunt people.

> So: go off to school now? It's still raining. Sam is reluctant.
>>
>>19751335
Don't suppose we own an umbrella or anything we could lend to Sam so she's less reluctant?

Either way I still think we need to go, by the sounds of it we're on a pretty tight schedule before all hell breaks loose down there.
>>
>>19751369
Well all hell will breaks loose regardless of what we do but we might as well get it done faster. Does Sam have a Car? If not check the bus schedules on the computer to see when one is going close to the school and the bus stop is close to us.

You take out the umbrellas you just discovered in a closet, and Sam nods. 'That's more like it...'

'Why didn't you think to bring one yourself when you came?' She shrugs.

Together, the two of you walk down the road towards the side gate, when you get a text message. It's from Laura. 'Are you coming today?'

You reply in the affirmative, and ten minutes later, as you approach the gate, you see a blonde girl standing near it, holding an umbrella. She turns to you and waves, but then stops when she sees Sam.

'Eh. Who's that?'

'Friend...' you're learning to speak like her, while your senses look out for things - Laura's strange, wavering energy; the one-track thoughts of the people walking up and down the road. 'Hey, Laura.'

She glances at Sam, and frowns momentarily. 'Um... hey. I'm Laura.'

'Samantha. Nice to meet you...'

... it feels awkward hear. You taste something like vinegar from Laura. She looks at you and opens the gate to let you in, only to have Sam wander off.

'What... who's she? She feels... weird.' Laura sounds a little miffed...

> What do/say? You're almost at the theatre door, it turns out Sam's off to the toilet. Also, second last post.
>>
rolled 74 = 74

>>19751335
Offer to play a gamme of illusionary chess or something with Sam, while we wait for the rain to stop.
>>
>>19751415
Sam, a friend of mine, she didn't have anything better to do, and I figured with how overworked you all were you wouldn't mind the extra help.
>>
>>19751265
>who it might be that they're trying to host it in
Considering her luck, and the rules of narration, that's got to be Laura.
Ask her what she's doing for the festival.
>>
>>19751415
She's a friend of mine, just a friend. I figured that you could use some help because it looked like there was an awful lot of work to get done.
>>
>>19751462

'Oh... she's Sam. She didn't really have anything to do either, so I thought I'd bring her along - you know, more hands right?'

'Hmm, yeah maybe...' Laura nods. She still seems unsure, a little jealous perhaps. 'Especially since the school admin says we've got to display everything this Saturday.'

'Wait, what? Display as in?'

'As in, to have it shown to them. Including whatever it is Lynn's got behind that door.'

.... oh, shit. You thought you'd still have a week or so left! Also, you look around you as Laura leads you past several oblivious girls - their morale no doubt even more damaged by the news - into the darkness of the backstage. 'Eh, wait, where're we-'

Laura pulls a storage room door open, pulls you in, then turns around. 'I've... just heard that Marina's coming back soon. From Barcelona. And also Lynn is feeling really stressed. Clemence wants to go back, but she doesn't really want to go back either.'

'Um...' she's not making any sense. You sense her mind is a little like that too. Then suddenly she looks up at you, takes your hand and presses it to her rather bony cheek, and leans in to kiss you. Her mind is thinking about you, fucking her. And she, fucking Marina. And Marina, fucking someone in Barcelona... and people painting and yelling at each other... and the darkness of the toilet stall...

> What do/say? I'll take note in the next thread, which I promise will be sooner!
>>
>>19751603
Her mind looks like a bit of a clusterfuck right now. I think the solution to this is to NOT use any mind powers on her and just give her a chaste kiss on the forehead and a long comforting hug.
>>
>>19751655
Agreed, it still feels way to much like we're taking advantage of her with how messed up she is.

Thanks for the thread OP, it's great to have you back.
>>
> No, thank you guys for not just disappearing. I was wondering if the thread would go empty.
>>
>>19751739
I follow everything you do when I can.

Also, when are you planning on running more Spacefarer?
>>
>>19751739
No chance of that, this is definitely my favourite quest on /tg/ at present.
>>
>>19751739
It's my favourite quest too.

>>19751655
No need to be chaste. She won't take any comfort in us acting coy when we're next to that new girl.
A good, loving kiss and a hug is better.
>>
>>19752019
If we give her a full on kiss she'll jump our bones right then and there. We want the primary aspect of this act to be comforting hug rather than kiss.
>>
>>19751603
We'll really have to look further into her problem with marina.
>>
>>19752049
Well she's not sad, she's horny and confused. I don't think she'll jump us, there's too many people around.

And if she does, I've got nothing against it. Fucking her probably doesn't damage her mind more than hugging her and then getting away.
And we're probably horny too.
>>
>>19752128

Have to agree with this but be careful and discreet.
