>Signature spells: Summon Elemental, Control Magic, Soulfire
>Location: Cerulean Province.

Once Dame Brunhild, The new High Lady Cerulean sat at the table in the citadel's hall with you. Marigold was on one side, and Grayson in the back, snoring- it seemed he was tired after his escapades in human form.
You take a sip of tea; You'd never had this kind before.
"So, Queen Ishelda- what are your goals for New Arcturus?" The high lady asked. "And the coalition that Sirius told me about?"

This but followed by:

"In all seriousness, civic duty is something that has been ingrained in all Arcturan Royalty. We acknowledge the fact that the pople give us the permission to rule over them and such we care for them before caring for ourselves. We plan to distribute land equally to all of the races while keeping a section aside for myself to establish New Arcturus as an actual nation."
>>

>A dictator is a ruler who assumes sole and absolute power but not officially sanctioned by heritage, as in an absolute monarch
It's impossible for us to become a dictator, we're royalty.
>>
"Please. I'm a fourteen year old girl. Do you think greed or corruption would play any part in my rule?"
"That's precisely what I'm saying." She said. "I may have been high lady for less than an hour, but... you're rather idealistic. You'll age, and you'll gain greed and corruption. It's inevitable. Now, I'm not critisizing anything- if anyone can pull off the sort of thing you plan, it's most likely you- I'm just... warning you. I'll listen to Sirius, and I'll join his coalition. Or yours, I'm still not clear on that... But be careful not to fall."
"Kristoph is sworn to tell me if I start doing stuff like that. I have several friends who will set me straight before that happens." You shrug. "I have no interest in wealth and power."
"I see." She said, and sipped at her tea. You swipe a biscuit for Grayson.
"I'm not a dictator, and I won't become one." You say.
She smiled. "I believe you. You know, when I was your age, I started squiring. I'd already known what I was going to do with my life- I was going to be a knight." She said, and leaned forward. "And I succeeded! If I can. . .why can't you? I wish you good luck."

"For the most part, it involved plying me with flowers." She said, her cheeks fading into pink.
"Ooh?" Marigold said.
"And then he ended up in my cot, waiting for me." She said. "It was not successful, I must say."
You stand, and take a wooden ring from one of grayson's saddlebags- apparently it had transformed into his clothing while he was in human form. With a whisper of magic, you convert it into gold, and then with a curtsy, you give it to the high lady.

"This is one of those magic rings Sirius spoke about, is it not?"

"It was my pleasure, High Lady." you say, and curtsy. You start climbing the tower.
"Mar, how's Sirius?"
"Sirius is fine." She said. "He was just hit by a basic evocation spell, and it hardly got through his armor. There was a bit of shrapnel for me to tear out, but when that was done, it was easy- Much easier than you and Redglare's 'training'."
You reach the top of the tower, and climb across the gangplank to the Jormungandr.
"Where to now?" Ell asks.
"The orcs." You say. He nods, and the airship shudders, and sets off.
"Good thing, too." Neiriel says. "Up north is the safehouse Azariel pointed me to. You can likely drop us off there."

You nod, and she starts chanting. You close your eyes, and push your magic into the spell she's weaving. It takes... quite a long time, but you recognize bits from that shapeshifting spell, and from your nightly magic-textbook reading, you can tell that she's doing quite a long, involved spell- one that explains each and every fact about the creature she's creating. From what little you know, you can tell that she's not using her mind to shape the spell- it's usually faster, but not as easy and takes a tremendous amount of focus.

An amorphous blob of flesh appears in front of you, and as Kaliel continues chanting, it continues changing. First, the paws sprout out, complete with finger-like appendages and claws. Second, the head. Third, the tail- almost more like a fin than a tail; and fourth, the two long, spindly appendages, tipped with claws. You see them twitch, and the claws spread, before squeezing back into a spike.

> Zerglingatta acquired!

The spell complete, you pull away- despite your willpower being quite strong, it seemed this spell took a lot more than a normal spell.

"...Wow." She said, scratching the ...thing's chin. "I didn't think you had quite *that* much power. What're you going to name him?"

It's simple, isn't it?
All of this war, all of this game.. . these trolls, the demons, the racism...

It wouldn't be hard if you just... Became them all.

You close your eyes, and reach outward with your magic.

Raziel comes back first. She's the closest... so you reach into her mind, and Take it.
You suddenly feel a boost of energy. Good... this should expand your reach.
You Take Marigold next. And then you Take Ell. Taking the Mind is rather easy, he was soft.

Suddenly, something barrels into you, knocking you to the ground. You're disoriented- but it was Ell that was knocked over. You still don't have the hang over this. . .

"You're breaking the cycle." You hear grayson say.
You feel teeth around one of your necks, and then there's a crunch.

You try to Take him, too... But Kristoph is in the way. Your magic bounces off of him.
Grayson barrels past Kristoph, and you take the opportunity to Take him too.
The magic that floods within you is powerful, more powerful than anything else you've ever felt.

From here. . . you just need to Take the world.

>Good end - Eternal Peace.

>Actually, his resistance is strong, but not invulnerable. Once you take over Grayson and the rest of the Kalak, it wouldn't be hard to crush his resistance.

"That's what I think I did." You say. "You can never tell with sorcery. What do you want it for?"
"Well... there's a bit of kalak folklore that Azariel once told me. It was the concept that one can gain three 'boons' from a captured spirit. Like.. wishes, I suppose, and then you're obliged to free it. After a bit of research and speaking with ogres.. I found out that they had the same concept. It's a ritual I think I can do." She said. "One second, let me get one of my books." She says, and runs belowdeck, her hair flowing out behind her in her haste.

As she goes, you think.
Maybe that brick you killed Eidolon with has enough of an impression to make a totem. . .
You close your eyes, and reach for the brick...
But the world key is part of the same cathedral. When you reach toward it, the bell rings, and your magic's sense is suddenly cut. You try again, and it is cut once again.
At least you didn't waste any energy doing this.

You shake your head, and open your eyes. Raziel returns, a book in hand- But it isn't one of the thick, scribed books you've seen, but more like a notebook, with loose sheaves of paper and parchment, all scribbled in Raziel's hand. She flipped it open, and started reading.

"Now, this ritual pretty much works like this- you can ask him for three boons, and then you have to free him. But... if you only ask for two, you can just end the ritual there. You can only do it once, though, so you can't ask two boons and end the ritual, then start it up again." She says, and looks up. "If we only get one chance, we should leave it a while and have a proper think about what we want to ask for." You say. "There's no rush."
"If you say so." She says. "This ritual does seem to need to be done at certain times and dates, though, so I'll need to wait until tonight so I can see the stars. There may be a rush, actually. I'll get to work deciphering them now. Hey, Gehenna?"
"Yeah?" Gehenna asks.
"You're good at dates and times, right?"
"Right." He responds. "It's my specialty, after all."
"Then come help." She said, and he walked over.

You close your eyes, and reach toward the world key.
Strange... it's stopped ringing.

Would be a bitch to have with us.
>>
You close your eyes.
It *was* eidolon's murder weapon, so it should serve well to contain his soul...

You reach outward... but nothing. You can't grasp anything, let alone anything in the spirit realm. It's as if there's no true connection, on the deepest level. your magic fades into the ether, and your muscles ache- no matter, you probably have at least a quarter of your magic power left. Perhaps with Eidolon's blood, you could bind him...

You open your eyes, and see Gehenna and Raziel both hunched over one of Gehenna's books, speaking in hushed tones about random numbers and equinoxes- an almanac, it looks like.

Finally, they stop speaking.
"Bad news." Gehenna says. "We have at most, a week, or the stars will be in the wrong position for another hundred years."
"This is why I hate rituals." Raziel says. "The stars need to be just right, or it has to be the right day of the week, or you need some nebulous amount of arbitrary metaphysical concepts, like honor or chastity. . It's useless."
"I. . I enjoy them." Gehenna says. "They're like puzzles."

"Gehenna?" You ask. "May I use Eidolon's blood?"
"Certainly." He says, and pulls a phial of blood out of his robe
You close your eyes, the brick in one hand, and the phial in the other. Using the phial as a beacon, you call some. . strange, ghostly entity, snatching it with your magic, and binding it to the brick.
You head Eidolon screaming, and see a spectral rabbit.
Heh.

The brick shimmers, and then chunks fall off of it, shaping it into a perfectly carved, statuette of a rabbit. glinting eyes of ruby stare out, and the same markings that were on Gareth's skull is now on the brick.

"Do you want his crystal, too? The one he asked us to keep hold of?" Gehenna asked. He didn't seem to notice the rabbit statuette.

Ask Bubbles what it is. Then, let's figure out the boons we'll ask of Gareth.

Since we're playing the collecting game, I think this sounds reasonable, though I'd ask of your opinions on it. And Exabyte's as to whether or not the third boon is valid.

Boon one: Tell me of your master and her plans, why you've been harassing me all this time, and your story. If the 'and' somehow make it count grammatically as more than one then we'll just go with a general 'spill your guts' boon and then start asking questions.

Boon two: Cut all ties to the Void Queen, and keep them cut for all time.

Boon three: Join the counsel of spirits I'm building and serve as an adviser and confidant as Azariel is doing. You're free to roam the spiritual realm as you see fit, but I may call upon you through the totem. Since this boon is binding, you will be expected to answer unless something stops you.
>>
>>19794715
>The third isn't valid, as boons have to be 'completed' sometime. If it's a constant thing, it doesn't count as a boon.

You can deal with the crystal later- for now, you need to find out what happened to the World Key.
You close your eyes, and scry for it. It's easy to find, still not being rung... And it's simply sitting in the belltower of the cathedral.
Oh. Simple- they just aren't ringing it right now.

You pull away from the scry, and bring up the crystal.

"Bubbles? Do you know what this is?" You ask, showing it to him and Ell.

Bubbles sparks, and a strong pulse of magic comes from him. It blows you, Ell, and Kristoph off of their feet, as the crystal tears itself away from your hand, and implants itself into the bracer.

"It contains. . .Orders." Bubbles says, the four pale blue crystals glinting from his surface. "From Eidolon. Codeword, Resurgence."

You suddenly have a bad feeling.

You set down the statuette, and Raziel starts chanting, in some strange, alien tongue you've never heard before. It's beautiful, almost painfully so, and something... remorseful lies behind it. As she sings, the candles glow brighter, and suddenly burn the dark red of hellfire.

Light shines from the rabbit, and an ethereal face ascends above it.

"I have been bound by the Arakoatoa Compact, and must give you three boons. In trade, you must free me after my boons have been given. If either of us break this compact, their souls and lifeblood are forfeit, and the Arakoatoa will arrive. Do you agree to this compact, Ishelda, Queen of Arcturus?" The voice- Eidolon's apparently- said, somewhat robotically- as if he were reciting what he had to say. His voice returned to 'normal', and the face sneered. "Right, right, answer the question. It was Tyr, Azariel, Gareth, otherwise known as the Wanderer, and myself. We all wanted different things from the world, and so Gareth suggested we play a game. QUite frankly, that sounds like incredible fun. Completely heartless. But incredibly fun.
>>
"How did you manage to not get killed for so long with that attitude?"
"Because I'm awesome." He said.
The whispering started up again.
"B- because the few times I got into an argument with someone powerful enough to kill me, I either talked my way out of it or ran." He said, stuttering. The whispers faded.
"What exactly did you turn into, when you first came back to life?"
"A chimera." He said. "A fusion of every sapient being I'd ever seen before, with the strengths of all. I'd spent a lot of time in The Mind designing it."
"Could you elaborate upon the Gearworks and the Sunder?"
"The sunder is a hammer. Massive, powerful, and it can only be moved by the arm of the holder. It can be an unstoppable force, an unmovable object, whatever the holder desires. I've seen Tyr stand on it, suspended by it as if gravity did not exist. Gearworks, meanwhile, is. . .different. It's a puzzlebox, with constantly shifting sides. I've only been able to get past the first stage, and ended up within a . . labyrinth. It's the only artifact I know of that is more powerful than the World Key. When I almost starved to death, and left the labyrinth, the Gearworks was gone."
"Why did you all choose to play the Game? It's ridiculous, using the world as some kind of twisted playground, all in a petty spat over ideals, and I simply can't wrap my head around it."
"Tell me." He said. "If you were on top of the world, wouldn't you be bored, too?"

"What were Gareth, Azariel and Tyr's motivations to play the Game? Azariel told me only the basics; you wished to spread magic, Tyr wished to spread logic, Azariel at first wanted to dominate and then, so he says, wanted to win the game for the sake of all after his megalomania was tempered with age and he no longer found domination appealing, and Gareth... Gareth didn't seem to have a goal, or motivation. He simply acted."

"I alchemize either gold or quartz." He said. "The elves have this knowledge- You can ask them for the specifics."
"What were Gareth, Azariel, and Tyr's motivations to play the game? Azariel told me only the basics; You wished to spread magic, Tyr wished to spread logic, Azariel at first wanted to dominate and then, so he says, wanted to win the game for the sake of his children. And gareth... Gareth didn't seem to have a goal, or motivation. He simply acted."

"I wanted to turn the world into a utopia!" He cried. "Galadriel's Light covering the planet, prisms floating above the sky. Food, and wealth for all. Power for any who wish. And at the top. . .I would stand, with everything I could ever want attended to me. Tyr wanted to change the world into his own version of utopia- One where people worked for their own goals, instead of taking, what he thought, was the 'easy way out' and using magic. Azariel... I never knew what he wanted. He was a mysterious character. And Gareth... Gareth wanted to marry some woman." He said. "Some human girl from a different world- One that said she would only take him when he had a planet of his own."

"How did Gareth become The Wanderer?"
"There was a certain star." He said. "A star that was said it would explode. So he. . made a ritual. One to remove the very concept of his own mortality, centered around that event. I helped him with it, and then the mask was created. Or. .removed from him, I suppose."
"What is your favorite color?"
"I like forest green." He said. "And yellow."
"What is the best tea in the world?"
"Ground up Galadriel's Light." Eidolon said. "It always revitalizes my magic, whenever I have it, and tastes rather pleasant. Any more questions?"

Maybe that's what I was thinking of? Ask him how the crystals work. It's not as useful as I was thinking, though.

"Do you have any advice or suggestions to keep the elves from getting all pissy when they find out I've been using Galadriel's Light?"
"Yes, I do. Use my second boon to ask me to do it directly. They won't listen to *you*." He said.

"Do you still get the afterlife if you are bound to something?"
"In a way." He said. "I'm forbidden to elaborate, and the compact won't force me to."

"For my second boon... Will you speak to the elves on my behalf, and see to it that the ban on exportation of Galadriel's Light is lifted?"
"I can do that." He said, and became a full-fledged elf. "It will take me but ten minutes to set things in motion, and then I will return. It will take time, however, for the councilors to vote."

"Raziel, I think I'd like some time to consider what to ask Gareth. Perhaps tomorrow, or the next day."
"Okay." She said, and cleaned up the circle. You pick up the rabbit, silently apologize to it, and slip it into your pocket. You can do the ritual sometime in the next week, and use it to free him. . But then again, you could even just shatter the rabbit, and free him here and now.
"Good idea. We're there." Ell said, pointing down. "Above Carved Fortress. We can't set this down in the water, so I'll try to find a field we can use..." He says.

As you look down at the orcs, you see the knights training again. Some of them look up at you, and salute- they were the knights who fought the demons with you. The Venerable King is there too, so he directs the knights to clear a space. You land the airship, and he cheers.

Actually, the mana tea was basically 'why the hell not, it makes sense' so yeah, you can make mana potions. Also you can cure astral fire by making tea out of the modified, anti-astral-fire GL.

Which is two years in the future. He won't be able to be freed properly until a century passes. If we break the Rabbit, the Arrakoatoa will probably get pissed and destroy us both utterly for disrespecting the Compact by unbinding him before he's given a third boon.

Next thread we're going to do some right and proper thinking, because we acted in haste. Maybe ask that he help us heal the Venerable Queen as his third boon, apologize for trying to 'protect' him when he can damn well do it himself, and let him go to his love, wishing them well.

Why are you all so darn focused on preventing him from coming back? He's not interested in the game anymore and probably would've lived happily (barring Void Queen shenanigans) with his love in the afterlife forevermore. What we're trying to prevent is Void Queen shenanigans; his very soul being annihilated.

He doesn't even care about that danger, so we should release him. He should live and die by his own hand, not barred by us because "hurr i gotz 2 protekt u." We can ask about keeping him and Keledanis safe in Eidolon's totem, but if that's not cool with him then he's being released. We'd be a monster to keep him trapped.

Idea for another psuedo-badend Ishelda version:

Other than the namesakes and the similar relationship 'loving animal - loving owner', they're not the same people. To be explicit, other than random comments and references, I doubt there will be a crossover quest. At least, not until I've done many more quests.
>>
Okay, so let me see if I've got these straight so far:
Void Queen is what happens when Ishelda goes full demon.
Mind Queen is what happens when Ishelda goes full hippydippy.
Wraith Queen is what happens when Ishelda starts literally eating souls.
Infinite Cloak Works is what happens when Ishelda summons ALL the cloaks.

So the basic premise is that Ishelda taps into some nigh-infinite power source and goes mad with power. Let's build on that premise. Because reasons.

Ishelda goes full mother nature, becomes all of the plants, and creates a sort of world-mind not unlike James Cameron's Avatar. Result: Nature Queen.

Ishelda creates an artifact using the new Rose Heart that transforms Astral Fire into Magic energy at an infinite rate, and then has it replace her own heart. It's so efficient that she uses all the stars of every system of every galaxy in her entire dimension to fuel her own power. Result: Tengenn Toppa Gurren Queen or Astral Queen.

Ishelda attempts to feed a thunderstorm with magic in order to create rain for the Wastelands so that the new Galadriel flowers will bloom and spread more quickly. The Thunderstorm begins a feedback loop, giving Ishelda more energy through lightning which she then feeds back into the storm. It becomes a planet-wide storm with Ishelda at the center, unable to stop feeding it. Result: Maelstrom Queen

c'mon guys, let's come up with even more.

Creating dozens of side-villains Exabyte might force us to deal with later, because that anon's a horrible person?
>>
>>19796889
It's like Batman purposely creating more villains to put into his own rogues gallery! WHHYYYYYY
>>
>>19796889
So True Ishelda is partway between each of them? We have demonfire, we made an astral fire elemental, we've fucked about with people's minds and we've made snazzy cloaks.
>>
Ishelda tries to enter the spirit realm for some reason. It tries to destroy her for her trespass. She absorbs it's attacks instead. Death Queen.
>>
Finally.

Peace.

Everyone in the world is doing as they should. Living, breathing, talking. . There are no more arguments, no more sadness. . .

Your ears go red as two of the minds you've Taken reproduce. You're still not used to having so many different... sensations going on at once.

You hardly notice as a long, golden sword tears through your chest.

"Your mind will be useful." The emotionless voice says, as the cloak falls around her shoulders.
You gape.
She's you.

She puts her hand on your forehead, and tears . . *something* from you.

You sit there.
No urges.
No drive.

The entire world, sits there. Doing nothing. Thinking nothing. Eating nothing.

In less than a month, every living being on the planet is dead, having starved to death.
Peace. Finally, peace.

>BAD END- No more Mind Queen
>>
>>19797045
Goddamnit.
>>
What do you think of all these queen shenanigans, Exabyte?
>>
>>19797069
ouch.
>>
>>19797069
Damn it which anon suggested the hive minds? Now VQ is ANOTHER artifact ahead of us!
>>
>>19797092
The bad end I just wrote should answer that.
>>
>>19797112
So the Void Queen's schtick now is just eating all the variant copies of the real Ishelda?

The question now is what she plans for True Ishelda...
>>
Ishelda gets every artifact on the planet.
Then uses all of them at once.
Crux Queen.
Probably the most powerful of the Queens.
>>
rolled 34 = 34

>>19792662

EXA WHY CAN'T ISHELDA HAVE NICE THINGS!

BY THIS ROLL, I RESUMMON THE MIND QUEEN!
>>
>>19797156
She's been stealing all sorts of things from our bad ends since we accidentally created her in one of them.

Someone should probably write a list of her inventory or something, so we know what we're up against.
>>
>>19797176
and do all of Exabyte's work for him when he goes against us? Yeah, no.
>>
rolled 90 = 90

Our 100s, all disapearing, at least we still have Riker.

>>rolling to create Artifact that invokes sympathy and other positive emotions in a target
>>
>>19797069
Turning the nat 100 into an alternate ending so it didn't actually do anything was bad enough, but turning it into a bad ending and increasing the void queen's power so that the nat 100 actually screws us over? No, fuck you.
>>
>>19797200
Well taht's what happens when someone >>19796889 starts trying for meta bad ends.
>>
>>19797225
I feel the need to point out that, technically, only the Meta Queen was the only one who was actually meta.
>>
>>19797200
That's why we shouldn't roll for things after the thread ends.
>>
>>19797243
>redundancy

See, that's what I get for rewriting my post without proofreading it.
>>
I think Meta Queen might be the strongest. She can see and possibly change her own character sheet.
>access character sheet.
>Add artifact: Void negater
>????
>Profit.
>>
>>19797244
But it wasn't based on any rolls after the thread ended. It was based on one guy thinking out a couple of hypothetical scenarios, which should in no way be punishable by anything.
>>
>>19797275
Wouldn't a Void Negator be an emotional wellspring? Like... say... Ishelda?
>>
Obviously, the route to defeating the void queen is in hugs, and befriending.

And I don't mean Nanoha "befriending."
>>
>>19797309
Yes you do.

Special hugs?
>>
>>19797287
This makes me think, when/if we do defeat the VQ, will we get all of her loot? So we'd then have an alt bad end Ishelda hivemind in a box? That'd be quite useful.
>>
>>19797331
Possibly, with time.
>>
>>19797331
I'm pretty sure that lust counts as an emotion.

hm.... Lust elementals....
>>
>>19797321
If I did I wouldn't have said I didn't.
>>
>>19797388
Anthropomorphic genitals.
The Brundlepenis is a lust elemental.
>>
>>19797388
That really doesn't seem like Ishelda's territory, at least not yet.

We really don't may much attention to that sort of thing, at least not yet. Maybe after the timeskip.

>Brundlepenis
You motherfucker. I had forgotten. I HAD FORGOTTEN.

WHY DID I KEEP READING THE POSTTHREAD DISCUSSION AFTER PEOPLE STARTED GOING "HARP DARP SEX UP THE VOID QUEEN"

I KNEW THAT THIS WAY LAID MADNESS, BUT ONLY NOW DO I SEE WHAT KIND

FUCK
>>
>>19797470
Hindsight is 20/20 and the only kind of filter it has is rose-tinted.
>>
>>19797454
Elementals aside, I meant more that I don't think the VQ would ever be motivated to do anything like that. I wonder if she's going to age like we do, or remain sort of 'stasised'.
>>
>>19796889
Ishelda feels the infinite pleasure of being cummed inside. Result: Slut Queen.
>>
>>19796889
Ishelda decides to tell this kingdom making business to go screw itself, becomes a bear and spends the rest of her days hanging out with Grayson in the forest living the relaxed life.

Bear Queen

Ishelda modifies the galadriel's light to feed on heat and freezes the entire continent. Result: Ice Cream.
>>
>>19797487
Every time you've seen the void queen, in bad ends or whatever, she's been different. Your age, a young adult, a matronly woman- she's been every age, at random times. It could be the result of shapeshifting, but you never know...
>>
>>19798087
Hey Exabyte, did I say "fuck you"? Fuck you.
>>
>>19798087
I can just see it now, after another 30 or so threads being dicked over by the void queen, we finally get to her lair, and before us sits an old woman with white hair and dark, empty eyes.
"Oh, this is the part where you kill me, isn't it? That's alright, I understand."
voidqueensmiling.jpg
"The next time you seem me was worth it."
>>
>>19798405
And then we roll a nat 100 in combat and kill her so hard that every version of Ishelda dies. Bad end lol.
