You awaken in your room to spomething more than a little unusual. The power is out, still that's not much more than a nuisance. You walk over to your closet and pull out your black pants, your green shirt, your boots and your leather jacket. After you get dressed you put on your glasses. Your "nanny" (the term is amusing because she's fifteen, you're nineteen) Lucy has fallen asleep in a chair right next to your door. She has a small present in her hands, the poor girl really needs to learn to assert herself. If she wanted to give it to you she could have done it last night. What are you going to do?

A: wake up Lucy and scold her for falling asleep in your room.
B: wake up lucy and offer to take her out to breakfast.
C: screw this gay apartment, lets go hang out with Lantz.
E: your choice.

You sigh to yourself and roll your eyes. Oh lucy, you poor thing if you only learned to speak your mind more often you'd probably be doing something more fufilling than playing nursemaid to a minor noble's son who's 4 years older than you. Filled with compassion you place your hand onthe shoulder of the short teenaged girl and gently shake her awake. Her eyes snap open and her cheeks flush with shame and embarassment. "Oh Master Line-" You interrupt her with a quiet shushing motion. "Its Fin, short for fineas, only dad gets to call me Line." You take the present from her hands and place it on your bed and and help her stand up. "C'mon lucy, lets go get some breakfast." This seems to flust the poor girl even more and she seems on theverge of spouting some sort of refusal before you place your hand on her shoulder and gently propel her through the halls of you luxurious hab block. (you get to eat meat and chocolate once a week. Its awesome!) Soon enough your outside and in the dark corridors of the hive.

Its dark and a little creepy in the corridors, even the noble families have to put up with rats in these hard economic times. Lucy seems profoundly uncomfortable walking around with you. Maybe its just the xpensive uniform. You make a note to buy her something that doesn't paint a target on the back of a head the second you get down to the merchant's level of the hab block. The levators are of course out so that means walking down flights of stairs, lots of them.

afters the 20th flight you're dreaming up imaginative ways to kill whoever is responsable for this power outtage. You hear an odd sound from the maintanence door, in fact now that you notice it the door is ajar.

and even more disturbing the icon of the machine god on the door has been defaced by some manner of odd geometric graphiti. You can hear sounds coming from inside the shrine, something is coming towards you.

You look around on the ground, desperate to find some kind of weapon, any kind. Your eyes fall on a small box of tools, for a moment you think the emperor is punishing you for your lack of faith and then you spot it out of the corner of your eye, at some point someone forgot their spanner here its big,, its heavy and rust has turned the thing into one solid piece of metal, just what you need. You take a quick peek insiode the shrine, after all you need to tellthe Peace Officers something. What you see inside chills you to the bone. These shrines are run by the Admech, they keep the city running by acting as way stations for power, your tuutor was very comprehensive in his teachings. This shrine has been devistated, its like someone took a powersword to every piece of equipment inside. You examine the the servitor, the odd weapon it used on you, at further examination is clearly some manner of arc welding. After ordering lucy to use her talents as an artist to render the graffiti into some sort of evidence for the authorities you climb down another 60 flights of stairs and make it to the merchant's block. You see that same symbol more than once before you make your stop. Only one shop is still open, the one run by your friend lantz. You pause for a moment and ponder over what kind of weapon you want. You have done some fencing maybe you should get a sword too?

A rifle or lasgun would draw more attention than I like.

Concealable holdout pistol, if las make it hotshot, if SP make it nasty and single shot, either large caliber standard or shotgun.

Pistol either las or SP, don't care much which. Depends on what is more common here.

Sword, given that we've studied fencing either a saber or a rapier.

Lantz is a lanky young man who's about a year older. He's sort of the brother you've never had. Your real brother joined the guard and died fighting orks on some world who's name you can never be bothered to remember. Lantz has a laundry list of character flaws but he notices your new scar right away. "Woah, been playing with gutter rats? You okay Fin, you want I shou-" You cut him off with an emphatic wave of your hand and command in your voice. "I need the best sword and laser pistol you've got, when I have those we're calling the Peace Officers." Lantz lets out a low whistle as he looks you over. If there's one thing he knows its that you don't scare easily. Quickly enough he brings out a hotshot Laser Pistol and a recharger device for the weapon, he even lets you take advantage of aspecial deal and offers you six clips, with two more clips for free. You take him up on the offer. You also see fit to buy a monosword, it's a bit thicker than the fencing swords you used but you never studied classical-

>>
[I have a PS3 so I have an arbitray word limit, some of these posts will be chopped up. Apologies for any jimmies that are rustled due to this.]

But you never studied any classibal fencing. As far as your instructor was concerned if there wasn't any kicking, shooting or face punching going on your weren't sword fighting, you were play acting. You also think clearly enough to buy lucy a small hold out pisol, in this case a six shot slug gun.

After strapping on the fanny pack that contains your HS recharger your settle down to wait for the arbites to arrive.

[continued in a moment, your patience is a appreciated.]

What, you don't have a computer?

With paranoia going full blast in your head you also buy a dagger, this gets added to your weapons belt. Lantz has a worried look on his face, not once, not ONCE, in all the years that he's know you have you ever felt the need to take advantage of his easy going nature and buy weapons for cheap. But then again you've never been this afraid in your life.

The arbites arrive in about thirty minutes, one's a large fat man who barely fits into his powder blue uniform, the other is skinny and fits into his own like a tent. "What seems to be the problem young man." Thay're talking to Lantz, after some quick clarification they turn to you with a look they only reserve for street rats. "You say you have information that pertains to security of the hive. I doubt that." States the fat man with a look of allof scorn in his eye. "I'd say you he's just one more noble bred punk looking for trouble." Lucy's face has turned bright red by this point, she was always terribly defensive of you. But you manage to calm her with-

a gesture and a small shake of your head. Well not calm, but it does keep her from shooting the peace officers dead. Maybe the pistol was a bad idea. You explain how you'd decided to take lucy to have breakfast at a diner on this level, that of course earns the "he's fucking her" looks from them. Then you explain how you stumbled upon the maintanence shrine and then you hand them the symbol. From there on they're all ears and quickly enough they have a pair of Peace officers verify your story. Thanks to thier emergency communication network it only takes twenty minutes. Thay thank you for your service to the hive, actually apologize for thier behaviour, suggest you see a chirurgeon about your face wound and ask you to stay in the hive so they can contact you later. Well now what? The hive is under some kind of attack what should you do?

Wait, why does Space America have nobility?
>>
For whatever reason you can't stop thinking about pancakes, still there's no telling what made that servitor go nuts. I mean you have one in your house, they're the most docile things in the universe until someone orders them to attack. Even then they're not good at it unless they've been designed to kill. You decide the best possible course of action is to visit a medicae. Thankfully the merchant block has everything a person could ask for. After spending 15 minutes walking you and lucy make it to the merchant block's medicae. Once there a nurse quickly notices your wound and has a chirurgeon sent to patch you up. Rank doth have its priviliges thankfully.

The Chirugeon is an old wisened man, his weak eyes were replaced with apair of large, amber lenses at some point. His hands, though flesh, are cold, and thankfully clean. This is a man who ascribes to the idea that filth creates disease. "Ehhh, not the worst cut I've ever seen, must have been painful though." You chuckle and mutter something about-
>>
[normal america has nobles, we just call them rich people. and 40K is fuedalistic as fuck, why wouldn't Amerigo secondus have nobles]
You chuckle and mutter somthing about not having time to feel it and the man reaches over to his tray for his needle. He makes you lie down and forces you to be still with one surprisingly strong hand. With the other he slowly stitches the wound shut. Disturbing, but no more than having a psychotic servitor try to kill you. The chirurgeon sends you on your way and prepares to deal with his next patient.

After awhile of eating, drinking recaff and sharing company with the withdrawn maid you grow bored in the diner. The company is nice but you're a noble, they all know that. Npw you're an ARMED noble. You keep an ear out as you walk, lucy is thankfully pateint and content to walk with you as you move about. Whilst you walk the Emperor sends you a sudden flash of insight. The Tau, the xenos that governor nixon has been trading with for years. The xenos who are trying to erode faith in the Emperor. The Xenos whose human servants are responsable from the Line Family's fall from grace.

You know what happens to nobles when the Tau take over. Quickly enough you take Lucy to a decent clothes emporium and buy her an outfit that won't look so supicious. You also get her a packpack to carry her old uniform, and you buy a cheacp silver corrd to wear your signet ring. With that done you decide to make thje best of this day and head towards the flea pit. Nothing like a movie in the morning, who knows maybe they'll have that Ciaphus Cain flick that the reviewers have been ranting about.

The news reel that comes before the featured movie is... Disturbing. It talks about how governor nixon is furthering trade relations and allowing the tau to have thier own embasy in the capital. The Capital that you live in. Further more it talks about how foolish anti-xeno crimes against our new trade partners will be punished. The thing that scares you the most though is the flag that the xenos use, you see it emblazoned on body armor, and on thier ships and waving above the new xeno embassy in the news reel. All the upbeat music in the world can't stop you from feeling threatened. You're suddenly very glad of your weapons.

Lucy, Emperor bless her heart, has the same look of vague fear that's probably plastered all over your face. You lean over to her and whisper. "We need to go." She doesn't say a thing, she just stands up and leaves right along with you, her hand in yours. It doesn't take long to find Linndallz Long arms, the shop that Lanzt's family runs. "Oh hey you look....even worse than before actually." You share your concerns with Lanzt and list off the clues that you've pieced together. Its obvious really, how could anyone not notice? The Tau are going to seize the planet and anyone with anything of value will be the first one with Xeno blades at thier necks. "If it were anyone else, I'd say they'd just cauight a case of the heebie-jeebies." He looks you over specutiely a contemplative frown on his face. You're balls cral up into your gut and build themselves a cabin, not because of the appaearance of the xeno but because of what his appearance here means. We have contacts among a handful of families, just three or four of them. We already have the Line family, old money, lost prestige because of thier heavy Anti-Tau. It takes hours but you and lucy, with careful supervision from Lantz disassmble all the high quality weapons. The high caliber stub guns, the better quality las guns, the chain knives and swords, and you carefully hide the monoblades and other melee weapons.

You take the liberty of upgrading your dagger to a monoblade and giving lucy a second gun, this time a heavy semi-automatic stub pistol (something like a 45. caliber pistol, her holdouts a 22. cal) Lanzt takes the liberty of folloowing your example and gets a weapons belt and gives himself a hotshot Las-pistol a mono sword, and a dagger. He's packing a cutlass instead of a dueling sword though.

Together the three of you take the back entrance and desperately try to appear as if you aren't imperial sympathizers. Your nerves aren't helped by the fact that power has been restored and that everyone seems...restless. Time to see the hughes family, some of us still revere the Emperor.

Between the three of you, you determine that the only way to reach any help from the families that your father trusted is via the undercity. Dangerous, but the Tau won't be expecting it. It takes a little time but you find an access hatch and pass through a wreched admech maint-shrine. Interestingly enough at some point someone installed new equipment in here. XENO equipment, must be why the lights are on. You're tempted to damage it but you're trying to AVOID Tau scrutiny not earn it. You spend what feels like half a day climbing down ladders, resting on concrete edged and climbing down more ladders till you reach the bottom of the shaft. There's only one way forward and its blocked by scantily clad, armed, tatooed women. Thier leader has to be at least 7 feet tall. They seem to be having a conversation.

If there's one thing watching your father desperately try to stop the apparently inevitable slide of your house into obscurity taught you, its that judging people based by thier looks is foolish. Even if these aren't cathedral going imperial citezans they can't want to live under a tau hoof can they? You clear your throat and approach with your hands held palms outwards, wide apart, doing your best to make yourself look harmless. Lucy has one hand on her pistol and Lanzt is giving you that look he gives when he think's your nuts.

"Excuse me! Hi there, My name is Fineas Edward Line," You extend your hand towards what you assumed the groups leader is. She takes your hand in hers and crushes it in a vicelike grip.

You squeeze back with just as much force and eventually the abhuman woman's face blanches. She doesn't cry out in pain and you strongly resist the urge to belittle her for being unable to take a little handshake. Lucy looks smug now and Lanzt is snickering, no wonder you always beat him in Tarot.

"I..." The woman seems surprised that anyone from the surface could do what you just did. "I am Anevka," She gestures behind you with one hand and you notice that her fingernails are thick and pointed, like claws. "This my gang. We're the Tunnel Cats. What do city folk want down in the dark?" She seems to be waiting for your move.

B. Explain that the Tau have forced you out of the City.

The Tau have come, they are starting to take over the high city and are going to keep on moving downward until there is nowhere left to hide and people like you and me are dead.

The only thing we can do is kill every last one of them we can. Make them fight and die for every inch of the city they take. I'm going to go visit some friends of mine, they have the best supply of weapons you will find, do you want to fight with me or do you want to hide down here?
>>
The tau are taking over, we don't like the tau and we are trying to reach other people who don't like the tau so we could all complain to eachother about how much we dislike the tau

I would be nice to know someone else who dislikes the tau so we can "complain" to them too
Someone who knows the undercity, maybe.
hint hint

If they don't get the hint, just tell them that we are trying to organize a resistance

>>You did bring some rations for the trip. Share a meal with these gangers?
>>
You break out a portable hot plate and cook up some guard rations whihc are...awful but the spices lucy bought make them less awful. Anevka and her crew seem neither impressed nor surprised by the rations, they must not have a high standard of living. they do on the other hand seem to respect you more for offering them basic hospitality. "Okay, I'm not going tpo mince words, in the city you'd be shot dead for your minor mutations." Eyes narrow and you can tell that you're about to have your head smashed. "Hey, hey calm down. I find it interesting, attractive even. Thing of the matter is, under the old regime as long as you stuck to the undercity everybody just pretended you didn't exist." Its pretty clear Anevka and the tunnel cats want you to get to the point. "I raise the Issue of the old Regime because the we have a new regime. The tau, thing about the Tau is they're efficient." There's a mixture of hope and confusion on the abhuman faces now.
>>
"Thing about the Tau is they're efficient. They have a tidy list of jobs and who gets to do those jobs." Hope turns to dread, confusion to understanding. "And you my dear Tunnel cats aren't going to be on that list, I can sum you up just by looking at you. You do what you want, where you want, how you want. Probably the only advantage of living in the undercity."

One of Anevka's group speaks up, a short woman with freckles, red hair and pointed ears. "These Taus wouldn't come down here the undercity is useless!" Anevka responds to this by shaking her head and keeping the same stoic expression she's had on her face since the start of this talk glued onto her face. "The undercity isn't useless at all. Nixon just never could be bothered to raise the shiny to come down here and put in hab blocks and shiny vending machines. The Tau are different, is that right Line? You think they'll come down here?"

You nod and gesture about you. "Look at all this wasted space, you could fill it with machinery that could-

If you had the money and the patience you could turn this undercity into anything from a factory to a brand new training facility for soldiers. They will come and they will kill anyone who gets in thier way." by now there's a stony cast to the gangers faces. They believe you, undercity or city proper you one suave motherfucker.

"Join up with me now and when we overthrow the Tau I'll make you Vassals of my family. I'll make sure you and your descendents are treated well by my family." You shrug and smile, making it clear that its an oopen offer, but you won't be offended if they refuse. "Or don't Look I know fuck all about the undercity, help me get through it unscathed and I'll pay you. I happen to know where a storage of nice weapons are, Las, Stub, Chain, old fashioned steel. I can get it for you. But first you have to earn my trust." There you've made you pitch-
>>
You may not be a merchent but you can play heart strings like a fiddler. If they won't take the offer of vassalage rthey WILL go for the weapons. The only hard part is keeping them from slitting your throats after they get the weapons.

Anevka and her group finally come to a decision. "First you demonstrate your gear, if its what you've promised then you out fit myself and one other Tunnel Cat to act as your guide, the rest of us will spread the word of the Tau, provided of course you're promises are as good as your presentation."

It only takes a minute. In between the las pistols and the mono blades the Tunnel Cats are sold. Now you just have to get them weapons without alerting the Tau, weapons for two of them at any rate. They will guide you back to the city, but from there you're on your own. Full body cloaks are suspicious.
>what are we retieving for the Tunnel Cats, should we get anything else while in the city?
>>
One las rifle, a stubber and maybe a mono knife.

"Don't worry we have enough of these to start an army"
>>
No need for full body cloaks, just put our more conspicous weapons like the mono sword into a bag of some sort.

Ask them what they want us to pick up. We can probably carry a few pistols and grenades without being noticed.

Also, do we know any way to contact a realiable astropath?
The sooner we report what happened here to the administratum, the sooner they will start working on getting us some backup.
>>
>>19818970
We'll want to equip them for recon and scouting primarily. Given that they're cat abhumans knives and other melee weapons would be useful. Pistol and knife if we have them available. And you can never go wrong with a lasgun.

If we have the option available once we get to the Hughes family we'll want to equip them for assymetric warface, stealth gear, explosives, trap wire, things meant for ambush. Assuming we can get those to them safely.
>>
>>19819017
The astropath's guild is within a stone's throw of the emperor's palace. We can safely assume that they're either dead or being monitored. The weapon emporium lacked grenades but does have throwing knives. We could easily bring along a bag of las pistols or stub pistols or whatever.

As for the Tunnelcats they want "The best Choppers you've got." and "Small guns, easy to carry. Boomy stuff if you have it." I. E. grenades, which we don't have. Just think of Lanzt's store as your average gun shop, he may have assault rifles but he can only sell those to select customers.

I mostly follow lore since I'm a poorfag, any links, screenshots or pictures of booklore that could help with more esoteric equipment would be appreciated.

Okay Writan!
>>
You honestly had no idea just how extensive these tunnels were. It takes some squirming and crawling in places but you manage to get through the undercity to an access block that's actually quite close to Lanzt's shop. Anevka kisses your forehead for good luck and sends you on your way into the hab. You can feel lucy's eyes burning into your back like a Laz weapon.

You're in the hab block and its fairly croded. The broadcasts by Xenos have become common place and people are...edgy but not rioting. Lanzt's rivals are getting a lot of business but no one see,ms to care much that his shop has shut down.

You make your way into the store and are about to begin getting ahold of weaponry for your new allies when someone grips your shoulder. Its a man in what appears to be xeno armor, blue optical lenses stare at you from an odd red helmet and a three fingered hand grips you arm tightly. He's holding a rifle and he has some manner of sword sheathed at his hip.

You panic, before you know it your combat training kicks in and you grapple with the xeno. (Its fairly obvious he's a xeno, he's got hooves for fuck's sake.) You lock one arm around his neck and slam the blade of your monodagger into his neck, brainpan, and spine. Aside from grunting in surprise he didn't have time to do much of anything. You grab his blade (You'll be able to mount this on your wall when this is all over) his rifle, and his pistol. Surprisingly there's very little blood to clean up, tau must not bleed as much as humans.

It takes you a few minutes but you empty the boxes of weapon parts into some handy bags and store your swords in a large duffel bag. All in all you manage to collect 1 las rifle, 1 autostubber, 5 las pistols, 5 stub pistols, 1 pules rifle, 1 pules pistol, 1 honor blade, 2 monoswords, and ten mono daggers. You get some wierd looks but thankfully no one's on high alert here. Yet. You manage to get back to Anevka in one piece and present her with her very own monosword.
>>
She seems geniunly impressed with your haul and claims the las rifle and a las pistol as her own. She doesn't even seemed phased when you inform her that the Tau are onto you now and that weapons stash is compromised. She offers to take you to her tribes base so that you can rest up and learn about the under city before you move onto your next destonation.

You vaguely ponder spending time with Anevka's tribe, but no, not possible. Even at the risk of of offending her you can't. You just killed your first anything, it may have been a filthy xeno, but he had a filthy xeno family and they are NOT going to res until you're hanging from a short rope. You apologize to Anevka and indicate that its only a matter of time till the Tau are on your heels. You need to move, and fast. She takes you back to the rest of the Tunnel Cats and you distribute the guns, and swords and knives as best you can. You also sling the leather strap of the Tau rifle around your body, you earned it you might as well use it.

Quickly enough Anevka assigns a second woman, a tall, but normal looking (except for her green slitted eyes) woman to act as your guide. Anevka will accompany you since she's a high ranking member of her gang and must be present at all dealings that involve her people You move out into the tunnels. Where will you go?

Before you can accomplish anything you need to get the Emperor's servants to do thier part, if you don't do it who will?

You have Anevka and Svetlana take you to the holy quarter of the city. Here the Ecclesiarchy attends to the spiritual needs of the city and keeps the bureucracy of the city churning by stirring up guilt and raw, visceral terror for one's immortal soul.

After a few hurs of traveling through the Holy Undercity and ignoring abhuman pilgrims and Abhuman priests you reach the upper level of the undercity and you can hear...something. It sounds a lot like gun fire, loud concussive thumps, something incredibly high caliber, followed by shorter "Whump" noises, the same deep caliber but more of an energy weapon.

You decide to investigate, carefully. No sense in getting your face shot off. Anevka and Svetlana carefully lead you down some side paths that let you get a good look at the battle field. What you see is shocking. There's a 30 foot streatch of flooring littered with dead tau, gue'vesa combat servitors, sisters of battle and ecclesiarchy troops. Leading the fight is a person wearing beaked golden powered armor covered in inquisitorial inconography. Who ever's inside that armor is locked in a deadly duel with a tau dreadnought. The dreadnaught is sparking and most of its jump jets are fried but it can still move. remaning troopers on both sides of the batte try thier very best to give thier commanders an edge but they're just too evenly matched.

There's no way you can pass this up. One several levels. All good citezens of the empire must serve the emperor, and more importantly in this case his servants. You examine the battle field closely First there's the Tau dreadnaught, its leaping around all over the place and laying into both the soldiers covering the inquisitor's back and the inquistor himself. Then there's the Tau, there's roughly 6 of them armed with variations of the weapon you picked up off Ive'an (funny how you can still remember his name...) you can either go for the head, and unleash long distance attacks on the dreadnought, or you can go after his allies, the troops hiding behind a chest high wall of sandbags and garbage.

The inquistor himself seems to have some manner of energy shield protecting his armor, and a pair of bolters mounted on his armor's forearms. He's augmented his arm bolters by retriving weapons from the battle field and firing them until the run dry, occasionally he hurls a lightning bolt at the dreadnought.

You aim for the center of mass, and Xeno weapojn or not the Emperor is with you. In mid jump your pulse blast strikes the leaping dreadnought and it falls to the ground, a streak of carbonized metal streatching from groin to neck. The Tau dreadnought tries to stand and quickly finds itself pinned by the power armored inquisitor, pulls open the cockpit and exposes the Tau inside to the open air of the undercity. He has just enough time to scream before the inquisitor twists his head off.

Anevka and Lucy take the firesquad from one side, and Svetlana and Lanzt take them from the other, any resistance the Tau would've put up is hampered the moment they watch their commander die. Anevka and sventlana charge in and grab hold of a xeno to use as a Tau shield, the distracted, confused warriors quickly become target practice for Lanzt and Lucy, the former hostages last only as long as it takes the Abhuman's to slit their throats.

After making a "Stay there" gesture to your comrades you approach the inquisitor, kneel before him and begin to speak. colossal arrogance displayed by those who claim to act in his name is

Istvaanians

Our inquisitor is of independent mind and not dogmatically bound to one of those philosophies. The Inquisition is not that monolithic.

He is a bit of a pragmatic puritan by the looks of things though.

I'd forgotten this stuff! Oh yeah, his name is Ezekial Abdul Kane and he's a Psyker of moderate power, mostly with communication abilities. and he's a Recongregator. He actively encourages use and reverse engineering of xenotech. Makes the Tau of special interest to him on multple levels.

Vow writan time!

"I will serve you, as it is my duty Lord Inquisitor, I will help you purge every last filthy Xeno from this world. So swears Fineas Edward Line." This earns another amused chuckle from the inquisitor. He presses a finger of his gauntlet against your chest and suddenly things fade to black.

You wake up with your head in Lucy's lap and your comrades surrounding you with concerned looks. In the background some PDF and Guardsmen are exhanging rations and pay script. "I can't beleive he didn't scream. The ALL scream." Murmurs one of the troopers. You feel confused and then you look down at your chest a large hole has been burned through your shirt and emblazoned on you chest is a symbol of the Inquisition.

You can hear him in your mind. "This is no mere tattoo child. This is my brand, my claim to your service. With this doen you will find it impossible to lie to me, and you will find it possible to communicate with me should the warp currrents prove favorable." You look up in bewilderment at your companions.-
>>
No you were definetly the only one who heard that. It takes some willpower and some practice but you're able to send thoughts back along the connection. "I'm building a resistance I need equipment, men, authority." You can feel amusement and just the slightest hint of admiration from your new patron. "You and every other pissant noble on this planet are looking to either lick tau hoof or die in glorius battle. You, I think may live long enough to at least see the fight start in earnest. I'll help with that. Go talk to my quarter master." You force yourself to stand, Lucy and the others try to keep you on trhe ground, you need rest they so. No, what you need is your boot on Sta'lin's neck and a pistol to blow his head off. The sooner you're in that position the better. You have the knowledge... its just there quickly enough you find a stern man, an old guardsman with augmetic eyes and no lips to cover his steel teeth. "Whatcha want kid?"

S.o.B. Catguls henchchicks? Maybe that over arms them. Get Lucy a protective Suit. We're personally blessed by the Big E, maybe we'll just grab ourselves a conversion field and get our team Photo Visors to handel the inevitable bright flashes. Less conspiquious to carry around than the permenant fuzzy field of a refractor field and he probably has them as their standard issue in the esllarchies roasiuses. Also either a new shirt, or go shirtless and show off our tats?

Maybe he has bikes or a Rhino and we can mechanise our team. Pxerhaps to consipuous and we should find civilian bikes/car?
>>
Okay guys the psi link works like this. The tatoo is npothing more than biological matter that Big E has warped so that he can use it as a Psi becaon to communicate iwthhis agent. He can send you knowledge and take knowledge from you with you being able to do anything about it. how ever you can also send him knowledge. I'm sure we can get him to sign off on making the tunnel cats kosher and any other gangs we recruit.

I figure the Inquisitor at most will sign off on letting use pull away ten suits and giving them to the gangs along with an attendent tech priest. The resistance having the means to conduct heavy raids is relavent to his interests.

Keep in mind anyone in your group has tpo at least LOOK like they could fit in as a civilain so anything that can't fit into a large bag will have to stay at home.
>>
honestly at best I think he'll sign off on some lo key stuff like vision protection visors, hot shot packs, nades and an assemblage of heavy and melee weapons that could be delivered to the tunnel cats base. Though we'd have to accompany anyone who delivered such equipment to keep shenanigans from ensuing.

You have your party equipped to guard standard kit. Its on hand and the inquisitor and his private army won't miss something as minor as a flak vest and some rations. You spend the next hour or so arranging kit and convincing Anevka and Svetlana to approach the camp (giving the SoB a wide berth) long enough to switch out of thier ganger leathers and into thier new uniform. They quickly begin defacing thier hemet and clothes with gang signs.

You meanwhile make certain that everyone has a Lasgun (mk36) charge packs, some knives, a spare uniform, rations. A rechargeable lamp, a grooming kit, basic tools, etc. etc. standard issue guard kit basically.

You also make sure they hold onto thier personal weapons. After an hour or two of attending to your needs Inauisitor Ezekial sends you over to one of the tech priests and has him begin work on your signet ruing. Now when the crest of the house of Line (a soldier standing in a gateway with his sword readied) is turned to the right is displays a ghostly holographic-

[I thought better of it and just deleted that stuff. lets start off small. Momentary madness guys sorry.]
now displays a ghostly version of the inquisition's seal. Perfect for those moments when you have to make people understand just what they are dealing with. The Techpriest also strips down your rifle, praises it for its service, blesses it and makes it more properly imperial. (an aquilla now adorns the round bit in the front and it has a wooden stock, as well as a bayonet mounting) with this done Ezekial performs a small public ceremony gives you your blessing and confirms that the abhumans Anevka and Svetlana are servants of the Emperor and therefor deserving of his protection. He leaves you to your work and orders you to find the head of house. Belrahd, only she can leave you to the last Astropath of Amerigo Secondus. You make your way to the surface, by now its nightfall and much easier to hide.

heavy guns! Autocannons, mortars, missile launchers, Lascannons, plasmaguns, whatever we could get that can drop a Tau Crisis suit, Tank or devilfish, and perhaps one or two auspex devices for Stealth suit hunting.

okay, you're tired and drained and you now know that you're father died serving the Ordo Hereticus. You also know a lot of things that Ezekial felt you should know.

You're having nightmares while you're awake. After a few minutes spent wandering the streets in confusion you order Anevka to takes back to her tribe's stronghold. She complies and you spend several hours wandering through the under city until you reach a large cavern. The abhumans who call this place home have built shacks out of whatever was on hand and carved homes straight into the rock Anevka, it turns out is loosely related to the chieftan of the ribe. (something like five or six families removed) she offers the best form of courtesy that her people can guive to a person of your recently elevated stature. She offers you a night in her bed. She seems to be doing it out of a sense of propiety. You're certain you could refuse without offending her. Her people are another matter.

This is so that her tribe will respect you and make better soldiers. Lucy's a sweet girl, she manages not to cry and you can tell that her loyalty means she'll do just about anything for you.

After serving up a surprisingly delicious meal of roast rat and mushrooms the Tunnel Cats turn in for the night, you go along with Anevka who strips down nude accept for the belt with the monoblade knife and las pistol you gave her. This she explains is due to the fact that her people are occasionally attacked by rival tribes, they must always be armed. You follow suit and make sure your new Imperial Pulse rifle is near the door along with your sword so you can grab it in case of attack.

Rollan for C!

If we can walk and commune, then do that on the way to the other noble house.

You sit down on a nearby rock and close your eyes. It takes all of your strength but you manage to forge a tenous contact with Ezekial. The best advice he can give you is that either A: you can go down to manufacturing district and mustering fields, or B: you can find the head of house Belrahd, they are the only ones who know where the planet's last Astropath is.

Well you're rested, you have all the advice you're gettting from the Big E. today (seriously feels like your head is going to explode) and your shellshock and existential terror are being overwhelmed by your desire to get something done.

>A: astropath quest
>B: guardsman quest
>C: see what you can do about mustering your house retainers
>D: your choice
>>
We need to multitask here.
Send someone to take look for our house retainers while we go look for the astropath

So, something like this ain't kosher?

A: The astropath is the most important.

If we can get contact with the outside, we can call in a liberation fleet.

We'll have to take what militia we can find. Perhaps we should address the village before we go, to recruit more fighters.

Well, except for the part where his bitches keep dropping dead or something.
We really need to get around that part.

You decide that the best course of action is to find the astropath, rescue them, ensure thier safety and have them send off a messege to the rest of the imperium for help. You're going to need a lot of help to pull this off. The Tau aren't stupid they know that if we get our hands on the Telepath they'll have to fight that much ahrder to take our world. They'll bring their a-game to this fight.
>A: recruit some more abhuman gangers to aid in your mission.
>B: Go back to the surface and comb the rowdier parts of the holy district for a missionary with the testicular fortitude to convert these people.
>C: forget about the abhumans for a moment and go get your retainers instead.
>D: your choice

I drew that conclusion the second he got recruited by the inquisition. He's no longer a nobleman, he's an agent of the inquisition. I like to think that when this is all over some holovid producer will collect rumours and make an over the top movie about it.

We'll ask for Anevka's advice on what groups there are and how to deal with them.

(A dark hallway. Paniced breathing can be faintly heard.)
>Coming this summer...
(Low shot. Suddenly hoofed feet stampede in front of the camera. A few seconds later, a pair of polished boots follows them.)
>From Arch-Militant Studios...
(The Tau turn a corner, but a massive, cat-eared silhouette is visible in the lighted doorway in front of them. The tau turn and flee.)
>Directed by the acclaimed Grendel Dorn...
(The Tau race towards another door, but a feminine form suddenly slams it shut.)
(The sound of footsteps slowly becomes louder. The Tau press up against the door in fear.)
(CUt to shadowed figure approaching. The overhead lights come on one-at-a-time behind him, revealing...)
>This is the one agent of the Imperium...
>You don't cross.
(A well-dressed man, hair styled perfectly, a Imperialized pulse rifle over one shoulder. In his other hand, he carries a plate of pancakes.)
(The man stops, chewing thoughtfully, then levels his rifle and fires.)
