>New players are always welcome. It's recommended that you read the 1d4chan page, but not strictly necessary. Same with previous threads.

You are Elyssa Von Braun, Planetary Governor of Daysimir by the will of the God Emperor and the mysterious workings of the Administratum. You have cleansed Genestealers, fought off Chaos Raiders, convinced a powerful Space Marine Chapter to settle on your world, and you are now dismantling a Space Hulk to further your ultimate goal of launching a crusade to liberate a an Ork-occupied Forge World and crush a Daemon World whose raiders plague the sector.

You do not currently have any Commanders on your War Council (PDF High Command). War Council increases the efficiency of Military operations, reduces your workload, and advises you on military matters, according to the skill-set of each Commander.
One Commander in training: Davos Ithkael, former Gue'Vesa Fleet officer turned guerrilla commander against occupying Tau forces, has unknown ties with the Eldar.

You do not currently have a Deacon: Runs the local Imperial Cult. You don't have much of a local Imperial Cult either.

You do not currently have a Mechanicus Director: Magos in charge of AdMech operations on your planet. Makes Planetary Improvements cheaper and can run special projects or even technological research, if he/she has the right skill set.

We should totally look into importing some Adeptus Mechanicus Xeno-expert (or other kind of Imperial-Sanctioned xeno-researcher) that can advise us on Xenos and orks in particular.

The intent behind this is to find a way to predict orkish reactions more accurately or to actually cause them to react in a desirable manner.

(I admit, I'm a complete newfag and I'm still reading through the d4 chan page. ^_^ Just tossing in a thought for now, but it looks/sounds absolutely fascinating)

Seconding, let's look into it long-term.

ALLIES:

Ivanokom Malector: Powerful Rogue Trader, under Inquisitorial scrutiny

Arkhan Mirak: Ex-Inquisitor, Psyker, and current Departmento Munitorum agent, is using his position to further Imperial interests in the Sector and suspects that a Tyranid Hivefleet may make an appearance in the not too distant future.

ENEMIES:

Warlord Kraktor: Chaos Marine Warlord and ruler of the Daemon World Ghaldmoris.

Ghaldmoris Raiders: Chaos Raiders operating from the Daemon World of Ghaldmoris.

Rodoris Caliphate the Sixth: Former Governor of the planet you now rule, on the run from Imperial authorities on charges of negotiating with the Tau to join their Empire and escape Imperial tax-collectors.

STAFF:

Strong Balgor: Scaly (Necromunda-native Abhuman) Gladiator, a ferocious Close Combat fighter. Armed with modified Carapace Armor and a Heavy Bolter.

Storm Guard: 20 Stormtrooper-grade Elite soldiers recruited from among your most loyal Armsmen. Armed with Carapace Armor and Hotshot Lasguns.

CURRENT OBJECTIVES:

Short Term:

Dismantle Space Hulk Designation TXY-999 (It was discovered by the AdMech, and was named by them instead of the usual melodramatic Ecclessiarchs or Inquisitors) and salvage as many ships as possible.

Establish a Xenos Mall where Rogue Traders can act as middlemen between human and Xenos merchants to legitimize their trade, for a small fee.

Forge the far-flung branches of the Von Braun Clan into a single cohesive faction in Ultima Segmentum, and, if possible, establish yourself as its head.

Negotiate with the Archmagos of the visiting Adeptus Mechanicus Explorator Fleet (Here to retrieve an STC Printout found by the Iron Dragons Chapter while excavating their Fortress-Monastery).

Long Term:

Begin a Crusade to reclaim the Ork-Held Forge World and eliminate the Chaos presence in the Sector.

Convert your primary moon into a massive shipyard and orbital defense facility.

Iron Dragons and Sisters of Battle forces aboard the Chaos Frigate Wind of Skulls (Formerly part of the Hulk) have experienced heavy casualties after a Traitor ambush and have pulled back to the ships hangers pending reinforcements after the first reinforcement wave was destroyed by mined hanger decks.

Your forces operating in the core of the Hulk after malfunctioning detonation charges appear to have awakened some new threat, with the Mechanical Spider-Xenos pulling off to engage it.

Oh, that's cute. How about we just see if we can make it long enough to not get torn apart in this sector?

>New threat
Send in servitors with the ability to transmit pict-capture and sensor feeds to learn about the new threat.

>Chaos frigate
Tell the troops on the hulk to secure the hangars and see if the IG librarians can mentally assault the traitors onboard to shake their resolve.

>General
Keep removing vessels. Is the Ramma cut free yet?

What does Mirak think of our governmental reform proposal? What do the legislators think of it?

Inform your staff that they are to conduct a survey of leading AdMech figures present on Daysimir, including those born there, in order to choose a liaison to sit on our cabinet or council. Criteria: popularity with the people, popularity with the local AdMech, and independent/radical streak.

Same for deacons of the local Imperial Cult. We'll favor those born on-world.

Contact Von Braun industries, have them attempt to improve the fabricated shelters and structures we built to dispatch to Raider's Grief. We can't let those shitty products be the end of our disaster relief.
>>
>>19885035
I'd hate to know what you're dealing with, Gameroom (an hour+ late :/).

The Chaos Frigate seems like it should be one of our current primary focii, but we should concentrate on minimalizing casualties as normal, cutting the hulk down (we need to be a bit more careful and roll better w/ the cutting this time). Is it worth it to recheck munitions to see if things were erroneously labelled (stronger explosives then normal in some batches)?

Also, what should we do about our recent discoveries regarding the high-level traitors that have let this area fall without due support?
>>
>>19885643
Surely we have read action reports from other Space Hulks before we engaged on this one, or are at least aware of the potential threats.
For this reason I say pull our forces HELLA back, we just know there's going to be something dreadful that will cause absurd casualties in close quarters.
I'm not saying pull them OUT, but concentrate them close to wherever we came in from and have them ready to pour as much fire down the corridors as feasible and boobytrap all hatches and potential weakpoints were genestealers, orks OR daemons could tear through without warning.
(Only the hatches, weakpoints etc that are within the tight, secured territory we are planning to defend, of course.)
Shit ALWAYS hits the fan when we awake stuf in Hulks. This isn't even meta-knowledge, it's probably a common trendd both in action reports and in-world fiction alike.

There are many factions in the Imperium that span entire Sectors without owning a single world. The idea of making a large and far spread family whose members ranged from Rogue Traders, Merchant Fleet Owners, and Consortium heads to Imperial Navy Captains, wealthy nobles, and even a Planetary Governor into single faction within the Imperium whose members cooperate and work in each other interests is not at all far fetched, and I thought that's what you guys were planning with this Gathering.

Done. Awaiting results.

The battle aboard the Frigate is primarily an Iron Dragons/Sisters operation with Skitarii elements attached. Do you want to recommend courses of action to ID commanders or invest your own troops in the fight?

Yes.

Mirak approves of your efforts to gain your peoples support and return to them a voice in their government. The legislators are pleased but reserved, as it's obvious that they would have preferred full return to the old system. However, they do approve greatly of the safeguards you put into place to discourage corruption in the Governors office.

Done.

Done.

>>
>>19885992
We can study the screwups in an attempt to gain a bonus on later rolls, I guess, sure. Seconded if the commanders and engineers find a safe moment in this operation.

>Also, what should we do about our recent discoveries regarding the high-level traitors that have let this area fall without due support?

We'd have to turn our suspicion of traitors into an investigation, etc. We can't trust anyone atm, really. We'll have to use the Statue of Malcador first; contact Mirak and tell him you'd like to meet in the palace and have the statue ready in the appropriate room.

Observe the statue's effects on him. If we think we can trust him, we'll broach the subject openly with him and see what he says.

Yeah, I was referring to the idea of running Ultima Segmentum. It was floated by an anon at the end of the last thread, and I guess I was a bit confused. You probably mean Elyssa becoming head of the clan, not the clan becoming head of the Ultima Segmentum.

>The battle aboard the Frigate is primarily an Iron Dragons/Sisters operation with Skitarii elements attached. Do you want to recommend courses of action to ID commanders or invest your own troops in the fight?
Recommend courses of action, see what they say. Tell own troops that they get hazard pay if they volunteer, as before, and commit them under your best boarding officers.

>Ramma cut free
Start cutting out the xeno ship on the surface, but don't separate all its connections and means of accessing the hulk until we give the order.

>Mirak approves of your efforts to gain your peoples support and return to them a voice in their government. Tell them to make you a counter-offer if they want to move you back towards the old system, and that you have learned enough of external threats to suggest that these changes are important for the present moment but as they'll have options to amend the constitution again eventually they should be able to correct them in due time.

We have a statue that makes loyal, capable, and good individuals feel calm and traitorous douchebags wince and squirm. I think we'll check on their loyalty with it eventually, but first we should leverage our psyker friend Mirak to see if he'll help after checking his loyalty with the statue.

(Posting the first post of the new thread, as it seemed to have been deleted)
The legislators seem surprised that you are willing to negotiate on this, and counter-propose that many aspects of the old system be revived, such as reversing the unenumerated powers back to the older version, but with a strengthening of the First Executive office, allowing Executive Orders very similar to your Mandates, except that they cannot be laws, even if inferior to laws passed by the legislature and Executive Council, which Congress would have the power to Veto, but would not be required to approve. So, if you wanted to build a new dam or commission a new Space Station, you could just pass an Executive Order by the five people in the Executive Council (Who would also serve as advisers) after which Congress would read it. If they found something wrong with it, like you going full Dwarf Fortress Noble and demanding currency be minted from pure Admantium, they could call a vote to veto it, which would require a 2/3rds Majority.

So, essentially, you'll have a name change in your office (Although you would still be designated Planetary Governor by the Administratum) and your Mandates would have to pass a council of five advisers, along with Congress having the chance to call bullshit and veto it with a 2/3rds majority. They're going over counter-proposals for selection of Governor/First Executive, modifications to old State of Emergency protocols and the House of Lords among themselves.
