The "Magic" Continues

Previous Threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags='Magical'%20Girl%20Quest
============

You are currently being the Demi-god like AI, 1187-Alpha "Daedalus," the current Reasource Distribution System overseer for Planet 13A "Harper's Reach. Having checked up on the progress that fork of yours designated "John Q. Dantexis" was making on recruiting candidates for Operation: Mahou Shoujo, you had come to the conclusion that at his present rate, the numbers would not be sufficient for defense against the coming assault by the Vonnies. You chose to relax the standards, with preference given to those girls who attained you standards for moral fiber, but not self-motivation. By this time Tommorow, Alpha Site will be one hundred percent combat ready, while sites Beta through Epsilon will be fifty percent combat ready, give or take.

Thinking of the necessity of the girls got you off on a tangent concerning your daughter - or, well, and alpha fork of yourself modified for thought process akin to a pubescent human female stuffed inside a top-class bio morph - and whether or not she would be able to survive her test encounter with the Vonnies. With those thoughts in mind, you went to Alpha Site's primary combat trainer, and asked him if he would be willing to fork himself in a way similar to how you created little Icarus. Though he had several reservations at first, after some convincing, he decided to acquiesce to your request.

How long do we expect it to take to get a body for Alexa and fork Alexander over?

If it's soon we can tell our dear daughter that she'll have a friend soon, if it'll still be a while we can hold off on that.

Work with Alex on finding an appropriate biomorph for his 'sister' to inhabit.
Basic weapons should already be compiled at the Beta Site; have Alex compile weapons that he feels his 'sister' will need.

Send a message off to John; remind him that we're at the Godzilla Threshold. Expand the search for candidates to all arcologies on the planet.

>How long do we expect it to take to get a body for Alexa and fork Alexander over?
Are we going with a custom-job or getting pre-built?
If it's the former, 6 months like it's been already said.
If it's the latter, probably a few hours to arrange the purchase and transport to the Beta Site.
>>
What are we going to do about the Magical Girls that won't be at the Alpha Site or Beta Site, being trained by Alex and Alexa?
Just have regular Firewall trainers take care of them and hope that it's enough?
Or have all Magical Girls trained at the either of the two bases first, then deployed to their respective bases?

I would prefer that all Magical Girl recruits be trained at the Alpha and Beta Sites.
It will help to engender a sense of camaraderie with their fellow Magical Girls, a bit of esprit de corps, and provide the best chance of survival and effectiveness for each recruit.
>>
Is it too late to, like, call John and say we changed our mind? It seems we'll have more than enough candidates if we just wait a bit.
>>
Wow, right when I'm free to check back, the thread updates.

Uhm… Alexa should look probably look like Kyouko from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Kanade from Senki Zesshō Symphogear or Kanata from AKB0048.

Those three fit closest, both appearance wise and in personality, I think.
((They're also rather prone to various forms of SUFFERING, which is the only possible outcome I see for this particular pet project))

"Don't worry," you tell Alex. "Provided that the alterations to the State Vector can work to trick the Vonnies in to thinking she's not a fork of an adult, you'll get all the vicarious combat out of her that you want."

"Excellent," He replies. "Now, please give me a moment. Until such a time that a female morph with my own gene seed can be made for her, she'll need a body to inhabit." He opens up a catalogue from the Face Conglomeratee. "Preferably, one that is worthy to wield the legendary skills of the Red Comet!"

Whilst Alex is taking a look through the catalogue, you send over a quick base text message to John.

-Expand search parameters to 100% of arcologies and Tower Fields, ASAP.-

He replies almost immediately.

-All of me are on it, me. Me've been attempting to ensure use of .01% of each city's production capability before sending infomorph flock. And without admin status - .01% is already quite a bit for the networks not noticing us. Attaching our name to this rather than John's would increase project visibility at minimum threefold - more likely by three orders of magnitude. Do not wish to inflame panic.-

You send an acknowledgment in reply, just as Alex turns back to you.

"Ah," he says. "This one will do -quite nicely-." He points to the image.

If they're already clued in, it's too late to turn them away. We should just make sure they're grouped together under an experienced team of trainers to make up for their weakness, relatively speaking.

If they turn out to be a liability they can be used as reserve forces.
>>
>>19953749
Keep the girls around. They may have a lack of self motivation but perhaps we could use them to motivate each other. Set them up in a dozen person team, separate from Alpha and Beta site, get them a Firewall instructor, engage in large amounts of team building exercises. Have them rely on each other and know the only way to protect the rest of the team is to be stronger.

As for the load out, spear and shield. Big heavy shield that also works for nasty shield bashes and a decently sized spear. Very Greek.

Their self-motivation may not be up to standard, but we don't know if there are any other deficiencies.
I'd still have them trained at the Alpha Site for basic training with Minaka, Reimu, and Anne under Alex. It's better to foster a sense of inclusiveness by using a common training base rather than having them trained elsewhere.

>Loadout: First to three: "What I do!"

"-Precisely what I do!" He finishes. "That is, after all, how she was trained - what her primary combat knowledge will concern. She will require a set of Mark XVII Vanguard Power Armor scaled to her measurements, with the same moifications to thrusters and shield projectors that I have upon mine. Her primary weapon is to be a X-1904 Automatic Grenade Launcher, modified for Cryo Grenades as it's primary munitions, with retractable monatomic graphene bayonet. Her secondary weapon shall be the suit itself."

You check to see if the compilers at the Beta Site are even capable of building something that big. The primary and secondary munitions labs both lack the necessary production capacity, only meant to build weapons up to the Sub-Heavy range and light to medium armor. So that won't work.

Fortunately, there's one in the hangar that can build that overengineered monstrosity he calls 'armor'.

"We can do that." You tell him. "We have to use the compiler meant to be making submarinal vessels, but we can do that, yes."

"MOST EXCELLENT!" he declares. "Soon, a second Red Comet shall arrive in this world, and make for herself a name of her own! ADOHOHOHOHOHOHO!"

Just because they were bought for the girls of team alpha, doesn't mean that they have to stay appointed to them.

It would be faster to just buy 3 more Sabers and have them shipped to the Alpha Site than to arrange for them to transported from Beta to Alpha.

And if Icarus doesn't trigger the bug, then it'll be easier to just put her backup State Vector into one of the Sabers at the Beta Site.

>Best of First Three: 33

You proceed to perform one of the most spectacular State Vector Alpha Forkings that has ever been done, or ever will be done. To put it in perspective, had you recorded this operation with a backlogue, rather than keeping its data trace in perfect silence, you could have posted it under one of the many false flag identities you keep lying around to poke things when necessity demands it and have had him make the mad reps. It is the sort of once in a lifetime procedure that doctoral students reference in their thesus.

Yeah. You're fucking -excellent- at the data manipulations.

"So," Alex asks from his seated position, "when are we going to begin?"

"It's alread finished."

You are not the one who said that. The voice is a touch lighter than yours is normal, and quite a bit deeper - a contralto to your soprano. Floating as a hologram next to Alexander is a young girl whe looks somewhere between the ages of thirteen and seventeen, had she been a normal, non-infonative. But the fact that it is an image, rather than a cloud of particulate data, is good. The fork has had no network access, or even program access to create herself an Arvatar.

This is her Residual Self Image. A thing unique to brain-scanned infomorphs and biologicals.

We should still try to avoid it since we have plenty of perfectly good human alternatives. I mean, if the Vonnies have gotten a foothold on-world, or communications are about to be wiped out, then sure, make all the AI forks. But until such a situation, we should use humans.

>>19955478

>>
>>19955774
if the AI forking works with the IFF, then we can ditch using human girls entirely aside from what we've already trained. And we tell HQ that it works, I'm sure they'd love not having to use child soldiers. My plan for "Icarus" was a oneway trip to the swarm via FTL probe to see if they eat her or disarm her.

If not, DOLLS is a great set of bodies for our girls yes.
>>

>>
>>19955917
By which I mean, sending her out to the swarm is quite ridiculous. We wouldn't be able to retrieve her, since if we sent an FTL probe to drop her off, the replicators would likely eat the probe, too, which we can't be having.

>>19955961
Probes which are also keeping a healthy distance, not "dropping off" anything. It's quite different. Sure, there are methods of long distance delivery, but you never mentioned that, either.

The probes that we sent out were described as not being able to get a good resolution on the replicator swarm on the asteroid base they're nomming. This says to me it would be difficult to determine the success of dropping Icarus on the asteroid to see if she triggers the IFF bug. Any one we send out there, one way or another, isn't going to come back. Either the replicators eat her, or they rupture her suit/armor, and she dies from exposure to vacuum. I don't think it's worth it to experiment with her like that at this point.
>>
>>19956045

Still not doing that to Icarus.
>>
>>19956045
It the probe is anywhere near enough to drop off Icarus, it will get eaten. Not to mention there is no way to retrieve her.

9/10, was fooled.
>>
>>19956082
It can be any fork, "Icarus" is just the first named one.

Purpose of the Dummy Plug System:

AI Forks in DOLLS trigger IFF ERROR: Child soldiers need greatly reduced.

AI Forks in DOLLS do not trigger IFF ERROR: Child soldiers have large numbers of replacement bodies.

AI Forks in clones do not trigger IFF ERROR, but not enough volunteers(either total or willing to be forked): AI driven suits with clones bodies inside to hope that triggers the IFF Error.

>>19956134
thus the "one way trip." The probe could impart the needed momentum to get the pod to the swarm. Her State Vector would be backed up at home, so she would not "die."
>>
>>19956182
Then don't call it Icarus. Call it a DOLL. Regardless, the DOLLS won't be ready for months yet, unless enough of us decide to get a new body from the Face Conglomerate to send out into space. Otherwise, we're gonna be dealing with the scout Vonnies before that happens.

Even if we put a forked AI into a civilian-grade biomorph an put it on an FTL ship today, and had her go out the airlock towards the current position of the nanite swarm, it would still take days at best, and weeks at worst for the forked AI/biomorph to arrive at the swarm.
The FTL ship still had to drop off the body at a safe distance that a Vonnie won't attach to the ship and begin suborning it.
Our projections show that the scouts will arrive in a week; it's more efficient to wait for the scout nanites than to send a body on a one-way trip to the Oort Cloud.

If I might make a few suggestions:
That red is a little hard to read off of. Not impossible, but it could stand to be a little lighter.
You probably should clear a space on Alexa's sheet for arglasses.
And also, I would change all the stat ups to the Strength Melee, Smarts Ranged, Stamina HP, Speed Defense style like you have in Anne's sheet for completeness. For your reference should you chose to do this, the only bonuses to effective stats are Minaka's AotQ's Strength bonus, probably the strength bonus for the Vanguard armor, and possibly that armor's Stamina bonus as well. Anne's Lady Glove has smarts as a bonus for the weapon, which might mean it rolls smarts to attack or something, I dunno.

He could perhaps use a white font color for Alexa's gear. The stats look okay to me in black.

The large man snorts. "And this twig of a girl is supposed to be my little sister?" He queries. "I hope to Christ, Buddha and all Minor Deities that her morph has more meat on her bones than her self image."

You figure you hould give them some time alone with each other - in the chaos of your worry you left several strings hanging. Their is a missive, from one of the Admins of a (relatively) nearby world, with a quantitave model of his successful attempt to get an eye at the heart of his local swarm. The video is from a sublight detatchment of a super luminal probe, lasting approximately .1 kiloseconds post contact with the Vonnies.

The things were comprised of whatever materials they could find amongst the rubble of a former research station, as though a sort of skeleton key in combination with genetic algorithm dictated their construction. Individual Vonnies were thick as locusts with the debris, the ones that combined seemed to serve as the first stage of digestion, breaking down pieces to sizes their uncombined bretheren could use to replicate. A grisly sight, you see the HUD of the system showing functional breakdowns throughout the audvids final moments, until at last the feed is cut.

Grisly, but it does confirm the possibility of one of your more ethically questionable ideas.

Sending a single DOLL really is not a good idea, purely from a scientific point of view.
We know that the IFF bug, while 100% in human girls, is 50% triggered by young boys, and 0% in neoteniks.
Just 1 DOLL surviving or dying isn't a good test, because the bug might only be triggered 50% in infomorphs modified to be young girls. Or 75%. Or 10%. We need a large set of data to actually be sure, and that requires using up lots of ship-building resources (all of which are currently tied up building the sensor net or our defense and evacuation fleets) and lots of bodies that could instead be kept as backups for the Magical Girls until the DOLLs are ready in 6 months.
And we have no way of recovering all of those bodies used once they enter the nanite swarm.
>>
>>19958613

You put off using your abilities for nefarious purposes for now, mostly because all of your ship building resources are tied up with more important things like the sensor net and building the fleet.

Going back to your console - th hub from where your mind program interfaces with the rest of your software - you decide that both your daughter and Alexa need a muse like the other girls. Icarus could probably use the assist with the targetting, given how unused she is to living within a biological frame. Alexa, you decide, should not be left out of this mix, if only to ensure that morale remains high. Adding cute things to distract from bad things tends to do that. And, since your totally awesome at the coding, they are cutish, rather than genocidal.

A fork that you had left with your daughter - whom is -finally- wearing some clothes, even if it's just a really big tie-dyed shirt - informs you that your daughter demands that her infomorph be hosted upon a cetholomorph rather than in her armor's computer. She says that she could probably dummy rig all of the targetting functions, and that the cethalomorphs are 'totally radical' like the cthulhoids.

Oh damn, she's talking like him. Didn't you cut her off from that stuff?

But you don't really see the harm. Maybe you're doting on her, but for the next ten hours it -is- her birthday. You quietly order a cethalomorph shipped to beta site.

You give your daughter's muse an Arvatar that stylistically represents its natural form. A greyish purple hue of skin, ten long tentacles acting as legs and arms for a large, bulbous head. In one tentacle, a cup of tea which it drinks with its humanish mouth, presently showing a contented grin. Two wide, smiling eyes that match the arvatar's cartoonish style sit above the mouth, one of which is covered by a dapper monocle. Atop his head, a polished black suade tophat.

His name is become Zhamothluuhyu. Luuhy for short. The most elegent gentleman with ten tentacles.

The form your give to Alexa's avatar is no less fantastical, but much more fierce than the dapper and friendly looking squid. Clad in silvered powered armor is a dragon become humanoid, his face of neutral expression, his eyes pouring out with the ferocity of courage. In one of his hands is a banner, a blackened field with a red comet soaring through it as though it were the night sky. In his other, a large gun, too unwieldy to fire much more than celbratory shots into the air with but a single arm.

His name is Sarge. Simple, and exactly reflective of his brusque personality.

Description: So yeah Firewall's got me training some newbies into ship shape because my last sortie didn't let any of the rest of my team get a shot in. The girls need some work. Pinky's got the right attitude I want, but unfortunately she really needs to get used to how much faster she goes with the power armor. She ends up overswinging with her blade and knocking herself on her ass from putting too much power into her strikes.

Ironic, coming from me, I know.

Ms. Brunette's biggest issue is her lack of confidence. I feel like if I look at the poor girl too long she'll just break into a thousand tiny pieces. But at least she's got the maths right in popping up those shields - apparently, when I'm not looking at her and making her shake apart, she blocks 90% volume of fire, and can take out the turrets pretty reliably with those cryo bombs.

Blue is probably the best of the three. Just the right amount of aim with that bow, and she's beginning to get the hang of those pistols of hers. The biggest problem I see with her is her attitude. One cannot afford to be pessimistic on the battle field. Still, she'll probably me moving over to live fire exercises first.

The alarm bells are going off in your head. All of the alarm bells. Whoever this 'theTRUTHisoutthere' fellow may be, you are certain that e is not supposed to know about anything regarding Operation Mahou Shoujo. That he brought it up so casually on a major public fora suggests that he is of that certain type who just loves to dig deep into things civilians are not meant to know. You fork off a strong beta fork to deal with the operations of the ongoing defense project and the oversight of the local ReaDS. This investigation is more important.

You will direct this -personally-.

His OMNITUBE channel is almost empty, except for a single, twenty minute video called "Polymeric Falcighol Derivation".

It does however, have a link to a standalone server address coded in an old markup language.

>wat do?
>>
>>19960148
Skim through the video, it's probably drivel but it might be worth checking.

Don't go straight to the server through the link. First research the server, see where it's based and find a different way in that isn't connected to his Omnitube.
>>
>>19960148

Invade.
>>
>>19960148
First, get a couple forks to check over his video; there might something encrypted within the video file. There's a number of different methods that could be used.

Then, find that server's physical location. Get a dump of the routing logs of every router around it for 4 hops. I want to know who's accessed this server, and from where.

Then we can look to accessing the server, with all of our considerable defenses up and ready.

You open up the video, prepared for drivel, or worse, mindless static. Conspiracy nuts just love to throw around 'encrypted' junk files that have nothing inside them. The first audvis begins to parse and you have your forks attempting to decrypt as it goes.

"Hello, Daedalus."

The voice is male and female, a baritone and a soprano, perhaps even more than one, you aren't wholly sure. But this was not what you expected.

"I'm actually somewhat glad that you came to this video first, rather than storm my old site." An image fades in, of a man falling down stairs, whilst another claims to have warned him. "That probably would have further painted me a nut - but that's just what I needed for this little thing to work. Now, pay very close attention here, these are important and you wouldn't want to lose them."

"Partridge. Oregon. DeGrasse. Hawking. Armstrong. Gilead. Hammerton. Thorton. Marseille. Braavos."

Odd. Those are the names of the ten Arcologies that house intersystem quantum entanglement communicators.

The voice becomes almost sing song. "Do be competent about that, dear. Oh, and don't try to find me - I don't exist, and I don't approve of Rick's methods for this indeed insurmountable crisis. But that's why he's the leader, and I'm not - he always was more cold blooded than I was."

>Wat do?
>>
>>19960702
Interesting.

Do some checks on the server anyway, don't kick down the front door yet.

Also set a fork to investigating quantum entanglement and how it could relate to the Vonnies.
>>
>>19960702
Set a fork to dig up whatever we can, it might be useless but we have to try it.

Check aside from the communicators if there is anything that marks those places out

Then check back in on our recruits
>>
>>19960702
He's not really telling us anything we don't already know.
We KNOW already that the scout nanite swarms are going to target the quantum entanglement comm centers first.
They couldn't tell us anything useful?
And then telling us that they're not cold-blooded enough to actually be able to save us from this crisis; great vote of confidence there.
I can see why they're not the leader, but Rick (the stoner bastard that he is) has the position.

Fuck, I just want to slap this person around for wasting our goddamn time.

Continue checking the server, find where it is located and when it was put together and went online.
>>
>>19960702
That ordering can't be coincidental. Run a systems check of the Partridge interstellar comms facilities, then the others in the order the arcos were listed.
>>
Rick is the leader specifically because he has no ambition. He has no desire to actually use the staggering amount of power at his disposal. The only things he wants to do are chill, and let people do their own thing.

He is literally incapable of fucking things up.
>>

>Last Post Until Monday. The Rennaisance Fair Beckons.

Stepping back, rather frustrated at the lack of new information the man gave you, you wait for the forks to finish their work, but for some reason you have the distinct feeling that all of this is a dead end. The one's in charge of decrypting the video came up with some sixty gigabytes of the same picture as was shown in the video. Or, at least, an altered version. The man who is going to be the 'scary piece of shit' has an arrow pointing at him marked 'Sober Rick'. The man who is warning him about stairs has another arrow, labeled 'me'.

You have no idea what this has to do with anything. Like that goddamned list, neither by alphabetical order or order of their construction dates, complete fucking use-

And then the thought hits you that he might have just told you the order in which the scouts will attack. You're not entirely sure if that's a valid interpretation, or how the fuck he would have come across that information, but you'll keep it in mind.

More metadata comes in. The server was a custom job, hooked into an ethernet jack next to a Quantum ENtanglement Communicator on the other side of transhuman space. The site was built thirteen days ago, and the server was only manufactured two days before that, by a Compiler registered under the name Idon Texist.

What a fracking waste of time.

By getting high and posting secret government info in the public domain pretending to be a conspiracy theorist and making fun of 'sober rick'. When the rumours start flying, everyone will be like "oh, that's just that crazy conspiracy theory, it can't be true". The rumours are true bro. By telling you the truth, he makes you blind to it.

Why else would the picture specify "sober rick" instead of just "rick"? To differentiate him from the "me" character. How else would he have access to all that info? How else would he create a false identity that a high-ranking AI couldn't see through? How else would he have got physical access to a quantum entanglement communicator? High Rick really doesn't like the bad vibes that sober Rick's putting out, training all them child soldiers and shit. It's all there bro.

Flight systems utilizing modifications to the Higgs Field and a gravity wave generator would be good to keep Icarus away from getting swarmed by the nanites.

No way, Icarus is Marine Shoujo. She has a squid familiar and loves water. And Icarus did fall into the ocean, after all.
>>
>>19968985
That's what she enjoys, but it doesn't have to be her combat theme. If you really want to work the marine thing, perhaps she could use a trident shaped lightning cannon.

And vulcan cannon drones.
>>
>>19968985
Not to mention having someone named 'Icarus' who flies is asking to have them, well, fall.

I say give her a the future equivalent of a shark suit and wetsuit, colored blue, with fin-like or winglike protrusions from the shoulders that provide boosts in water or on land.

For weapons, ranged is probably good. A harpoon launcer would fit the theme but probably be mostly useless. Maybe a repeating crossbow?

Ice Wings.
>>
>>19969086
While ranged would be what we want her to use when possible, for her first sortie we need her to get in close and see if the nanites try to go for lethal attacks, or non-lethal attacks.

We'll need Alexa on standby to get Icarus out of there if the IFF bug doesn't get triggered. And just because the attacks are non-lethal, doesn't mean that they won't try to drain the batteries powering Icarus' weapons and armor.
>>
>>19969060
If you're worried about Icarus, just send her in with backup. It would be child's play to save her and pull her out at the first sign of trouble. And we can also back her up before the mission.
>>
>>19968355
Why bother with a flight system, anyway? the only reason it's being suggested is so Icarus can stay away from the Vons so she doesn't get killed, and we need her to get close to the Vons her first mission. After that, either getting close to the vonnies will be lethal, in which case she has no business going on missions, or nonlethal, in which case the whole reason for her having the flying is gone.
>>
>>19969180
I didn't say anything about being particularly worried about her. If anything, that was a semi-indirect suggestion for her weaponry.

>>19969261
Because flying is neat?
>>
>>19969261
Because if, in the second case where she can use be fielded against the Vonnies, being able to stay away makes best use of the loadout we've been coming up for her, which is a slow-firing but large area-of-effect nuke-type attack.
>>
>>19969344
fine, s'long as we can use my idea on some other Maho Shoujo.
>>
>>19969261

>>19972846
If we're using gun drones... why do we need girls?

Can't HQ control.... billions of gun drones? Or an AI in a control drone. That's something AIs would be perfect at.

I'd rather go with thrown lightning as the her basic weapon and a charge up laser finisher like I wanted at first. Then we can have the final boss upgrade laser that you can see from the next planet over.
>>
>>19973251
Inevitably the drones will get eaten, and the Vonnie swarms would be going straight for the throat in those situations.
When there's a girl in the mix, because of the IFF bug, even if the girls attack the Vonnies, they will only respond with non-lethal attacks to try to get the girls safely out of the way. So the girls are needed to trigger the IFF response.

Also, we've been warned that lasers and other direct-energy weapons are a big no-no.
If you want to ignore that, and have it backfire on us, then you can continue pushing it.
>>
>>19973318
Once again, energy weapons of INSUFFICIENT POWER could be absorbed. That's why radar/lidar is absorbed.

If we can't make a laser of sufficient power, then Anne's fire bombs are out. If Minaka can have gloves that crush bots with waves of force every turn, we can make a glove that can discharge a electric bolt of sufficient power to frag bots every turn.
>>
>>19972827
Well, she probably can't control quite that many, but I love the idea. A laser drone array it is. Maybe a lighning rapier that can also shoot lightning for melee and backup ranged? However, a three-turn attack is simply impractical.
>>
>>19973990
>Insufficient power
Military laser weapons are also of insufficient power, otherwise there wouldn't be a warning against using lasers, particle weapons, and radiation devices.
We could go for a much higher-power laser weapon, but regular kinetic slugthrowers are more efficient.
>>
>>19973318
Energy weapons of insufficient power which last for too long are specifically the dangerous ones

A three turn charge up attack is far too slow though
>>
>>19973318
Strictly speaking, it's low power direct energy weapons that don't work, a lazcannon might, which is why I specify that, when I mention them. Theoretically, a single massive blast would work, and due to bullshit SCIENCE! wouldn't bleed significant amounts of energy into the surrounding Vonnies.
>On directed energy weapons, I'd advise against. Anything that relies on low impulse, sustained kinetic force in the terms of 'friggin laser beams', particle cannons (see anti matter exception) or radiation devices are a big 'fuck no'. At best, they won't accomplish much of jack shit, and the things will just stare at you before getting their replication on. At worst, congrats bro, you just accelerated the reproduction rate by a factor of ten, at least. Way to be.

>>19973251
And you're the only one pushing for that particular set-up, not that it doesn't help that it seems everyone has their own ideas for what to equip Icarus with.

Myself, based on various comments that have been made, I like the idea of a chargeable lightning shooting trident (to go with the marine sub-theme that seems to be developing with Icarus), and a pair of Vulcan cannon gundrones.
The main reason I say Vulcan cannon drones is that high velocity kinetic impact is supposed to be the most basic effective kill vector against the Vonnies. They also fit the Heavy Weapon category that we seem to be building for the Beta team.
>>
>>19974388
Actually, I've given up on the marine theme for Icarus in favor of using it for the third member. Use the lightning rapier, that sounds cool.
>>
>>19974565
A'ight, then.
>>
>>19974283
Nobody even tried to explain why Anne gets firebombs which'll bleed energy then as a special ability. Apparently they aren't going to leak energy?

>>19974388
I have, because I like it, same as everyone else and what they want to have her use. I think adding "Drones" to every girl is boring myself. If you want drone support, let's just have a drone fleet as regular support and give all the girl cool abilities instead.

Attaching the lighting to a rapier is going to make the blasts weaker. I'd liked to see her a aerial support.

Normal Attack: Lightning
Special Option: Chain lightning, limit uses per scene.

Heavy Attack: Heavy Laser, X round charge
Special Option: Drain Capacitors, instant fire, disables Levitate, Chain Lightning(Must be ready for use) for x turns. Drops shields by ~50% on use.

Armor: +SPD, +STA
Levitate: no terrain penalties when while flying.
Spotting: +chance to hit for allies on targets she can see.

No one ever suggested that. It was suggested for Anne (not by me), and now it's being suggested for Icarus (by me). It was never suggested for every girl ever, and I'm intentionally limiting it to two for Icarus because there has to be a limit to things, if only for purposes of reasonable control.
While giving a girl all the guns ever for a massive danmaku is an amusing idea, it's also pretty damn silly.

As to a personal/melee weapon, I'm not really in favor of the rapier. Beyond any thematics of a trident, it functions better as a melee weapon against the VNs, and it can be used as a staff for channeling the lightning blasts.

The main issue (as I see it) is it seems that you're so set on what you want her to use that you aren't even considering other people's thoughts on what to give her.

Anyway, we are deep in the autosage, by duration (not post count), if some one wants to make a new thread for further discussion, that could be cool.

Myself, I'm rambling from a mix of light sleep deprivation, and it being late, so I'm going to bed.

Not that it matters.

I love the shit coming out of your ass, a viable fire attack has never been mentioned in a omniwiki. I'm glad you actually read the threads.

What, and everyone else isn't? We have Spalshwomen who's just moved on to the 6th girl, you who wants drones and doesn't care about the normal attack, and the guy from last thread who wanted a superheavy firepower girl(which would still be cool).

I might make it in the morning when I get up. Night

I never said I didn't care about a normal attack. That's what the lightning trident is for, which I adapted from your initial lightning powers suggestion. I'm primarily discussing the drones because they're getting brought up. I first presented them here because I like the idea of semi-independent support weapons hovering at her shoulders. I'm sticking with them because I don't think a viable alternative has been suggested. If a lazcannon is viable against the VNs, great, we can work with that, but the way you have it presented in your detail there does not look like an attractive weapon.

1 learn to read the fucking threads before acting like you know everything

2 be less of a cunt when someone might not know since they may have not been here

for your first, what >>19898216 said is basically right (or how I'ma roll with it).

For your second, I see no reason why not. Go for it!

Tl;dr fuck off with acting like you know shit until you can back it up fuckface

>I think the high intesity heat might be regarding the ones that died in the fireball. IE - you can shoot some flame on it, but you have to shoot it hot enough to damage it's systems

yeah... but if you people think lasers have "bleed" then a fire attack must look like a fucking oil-spill. That kind of attack is going to feed them a significant amount of waste heat that you haven't explained how to deal with aside from it being magically waved aside.

That was a READS reply, not an omniwiki post. It'd help if you'd not get the two confused so searching is easier.

Now I want to get laser intensity handwaved because I can say "better" capacitors...

I've never said the word lascanon once. READS can decide what'd be an appropriate strength for it'd be for the turn charge. As for the instant use, what drawback would you use? Switch it to limited and cooldown instead of the CL? I wanted to give the instant hit a last shot feel.

I wasn't actually the one you insulted in the first place but I just hate seeing people being cunts when they are wrong

So while it may to have been an omniwiki post the original guy had it right and you were just being a dick
>>

And generally it is because the ones that are hit by the fire attack are too dead to do anything towards feeding on it.

And I am not worried about the bleed effect from weapons, it has already been stated weapons above a certain threshold will destroy vonnies but lesser ones feed them.

So while there may be bleed it won't be enough to cause an issue unless we fail to destroy or damage them with the hit
