Your name is Alex Murphy. You are a 250 year old robot with the capability to think and your creator in your mind. You have just killed several cougarwolves, or Coulfs, and a Birdrake, after being captured by the law enforcing Enforcers. You were used as bait to draw out the Sheriff of your town, who was training beasts to raid towns. In gratitude, you were given the sheriff's personal effects (but not his house), and Pete has given you several upgrades.

Efficient Feedback lv 2: Further decrease the cost of Feedback Burst
Improved Feedback lv 2: Further increase the duration of Feedback Burst
Feedback Burst lv 3: Further slightly decrease the energy cost and slightly increase the duration of Feedback Burst.

Int was upgraded near the beginning of thread 2. Offense used to be --, now it is simply -.
>>
>>20011052
I second the notion.
>>
>>20011052
>>20011051
(Pete has already taken the pelts as payment for the upgrade)
You inquire to Doc about his ability to create robotic minions out of scrap. He responds with a positive, but that the knowledge is, somewhat predictably, locked away in an encrypted file that has quite a large amount of encryption in it. He could guide you step by step, but it would require a restrictively long amount of time on the order of months possibly to create one.

You ask Pete about ammunition and he responds positively as well, giving it to you as a bonus. 20 additional shells on another belt, plus 10 rounds of explosive ammunition. You thank him and ask him if there's anything else to do around here.

"Not much, really. I'm sure if you ask around there's menial tasks here and there, but nothing really pressing, and I'm sure going Coulf hunting would get boring fast."

>>
>>20011219
>>20011224
You use a mirror in Pete's shop to examine you in all your sheriffy goodness. You would say you look badass. Doc says "You look pretty spiffy, I'd say."

You ask Pete about other settlements. He says "The closest one is Tractormaede, about 20 miles or so northwest of here. It's a lot bigger than here, so if you're looking for more to do you should probably go there."

Ask for a map, say my good-byes and then hit the road. Perhaps catch a caravan heading in?
>>
>>20011291
>>20011295
"No problem," Pete says, handing you a map of the local area. Cropfield is located in the southeastern corner, and Tractormaede is closer to the middle, but still close to the corner. In the very bottom left corner, there is a large red X and a skull symbol next to it. There is one significantly larger city all the way at the top right of the map, "New Scotsdale", but it's much farther than the distance between Cropfield and Tractormaede. You print out a list of recipes for Pete and hand them to him before making your goodbye.

Nifty, it seems Delia has left a Ratmule for you at the entrence.

You'll have to thank her for that.

A combination of these two. Surely Doc left some old-world knowledge in our noggin besides geography.
Also, talk to Delia, see if she knows of anything to be done or anything of interest about the surrounding area. And if she might pass along to her fellow Enforcers down the line that we are good people and not out to hurt anyone.
>>
>>20011333
Well, then, let's head off to Tractormaede. It's close by, and likely to provide opportunities to upgrade our gear and/or programming.
>>
>>20011333
We should probably talk to Delia, let her know where we're going first, get her advice and make sure she knows where to find us if needed.

Also see if we can get something from her that can verify we're a nice dude to any other Enforcers.
>>
Delia has left, but you send her a text message on the phone to pass along to other Enforcers that you are a fine and dandy dude.

You get on the Ratmule, it having already been trained and prepared, as you can tell from its age from scanning. It accepts your presence, you only being slightly heavier than a normal human, and you set off towards Tractormaede.

As you walk in the room, the world seems to get grayer. The man sits in a reclining office chair, polishing his pistol. The little triangle name stand thingy says the same thing as outside, "John Cotton, Bounty Organizer".

You ask "So, is this the place to go if I want to go on a job hunting bounties?"

John looks at you and says, "Yeah. You don't look like any normal bounty hunter though. Most aren't robots." He chuckles at his own joke, his desert accent tempered with both a southern drawl and a hint of what you imagine to be a brooklyn accent. "So what'll your reward be? I can imagine you don't want booze or cigs."

"I want upgrades. I want to see whoever you have that knows how to engineer things and I want to see anyone here who knows programming." You reply frankly.

"Haha, well, we got someone we could get for that. Now," He says, leaning over his desk. "Your first job is to find a little girl in this town. She's, believe it or not, an incredibly dangerous killer, clinically insane, but we can't find her at all. She's off the radar completely." He slips you a photo of an ordinary looking schoolgirl, wearing a frilly dress and her hair put in two sidetails. Then you notice the barber's razor in her other hand coated in blood, and the bloodstains on her t-shirt.

"Do that for us, and we'll get you what you need." He says.

>ACTION?

Give me a map of the town and locations where all the killings took place, there might be more of a pattern than immediately obvious.
>>
>>20016091
"I need more info on the girl, like methods and such." You ask. John nods, and says "She likes to sneak into houses during nighttime through small openings like vents and such, then she slits the neck of everyone she finds. Usually everyone else is alerted to the killing by a weird combination of laughter and screaming, but by the time we get there she's already gotten away. She always uses a barber's razor from what we can tell."

"Anything else you need to know?
>>
>>20016079
Get as much info on the girl as possible, where the last killings occurred, age, etc.

Second off, ask where the nearest gun store is. Helps to be prepare if she's as deadly as he says.
>>
>>20016103
>>20016120
"Her name is Jessie, we estimate she's around 10 or so, and we have no idea if she has any family or not, or friends. She's killed 13 people so far, one every week, like clockwork, but the killings are completely random. As for personal history and how good she'd be in a fight, we have no idea of either of those things. And the only guns we have are in possession of the local law enforcement, so you're gonna want to get in their good graces if you want stock of the armory, so to speak." John explains.

"Anything else?"
>>
>>20016151
"Is there any pattern to where she attacks and is an attack due?"
>>
>>20016151
You call it completely random, there is always a method to someone's madness, we just don't have the right viewpoint to see it.

Get me a map of the town and the locations she has struck.

You said she kills one person a week, and you also said she sneaks into houses and kills everyone in there. These two facts are contradictory. What aren't you telling me?
>>
>>20016175
Maybe she's only killing in the houses of people who live alone?
Or maybe he's keeping something from us
>>
>>20016179
He said she slits the neck of everyone she finds. I find this fishy.

Also get our hand ready to quickdraw our pistol and be prepared to Feedback Burst him in the face.
>>
>>20016168
>>20016175
"I'm sorry, that was a slip of wording. She has killed 13 households, one per week, like clockwork. And we mapped out her killings already." He says, pointing to a map he's pulled out. There are big red dots, he explains, where the killings occurred, and then lines connecting them to each other. If there's a pattern from location, he can't notice, and after looking at it for a while, you can't notice either.

And in your mind, you feel a clicking, an unlocking of files.

Ignoring that moment of oddness, you tell John that you don't notice anything. Then you have an idea.

"Do you have any information on the households she's killed?" You ask.

John nods. "We haven't given it a good hard look, but, give me a second and I will." He says as he pulls out a large paper and begins looking up and down it.

His eyes widen, and he smacks himself on the forehead. "Of course! Every family killed has a daughter within the 9-13 age group and no other children! I don't understand why, but I think we can make a couple of predictions now. Hand me that map." He says, cursing his own stupidity under his breath.

He takes the map, and makes several circles around rectangles that represent houses. 4 in total. "Here are the likely locations for her next attack. Which is tonight, by the way. Think you got this covered?" He says.

The buildings aren't enough to cover with a lv 1 improved sonar, but if you get in between two you could get near them.

John looks at you and says "Yeah... They all have a similar appearance. Blond hair, blue eyes, round face. And, kiddo. Give her the death penalty."

You walk out the office, locations memorized from the map. Speaking of which, as you walk outside, a boy is standing near your Ratmule and Rex. "Oh hey mister! I fed your pets for you, hope you don't mind!" He then runs off very quickly. Odd.

Anyway, night is beginning to fall.

>>
Quickly make our way to the houses. Let's try and warn the occupants. If we attempt to save human lives then people will look on us more favorably.
>>
>>20016314
We don't have enough range to cover all the buildings.

Make sure our pets are doing fine.

Call up the local Enforcers or find the local chapter, we can't cover all 4 buildings, we need at least two assistants, I'd prefer 4 so they can pair up, each cover one and we Radar the hell out two of them.
>>
What sort of ammo do we have available by the way?

>>20016334
You call up Delia, and ask her if there are 4 Enforcers nearby you can use to cover the houses. She says yes, she'll send them over as soon as possible, where should they meet you? You tell her in front of town hall.

Within 2 minutes, three male enforcers and one female one on Ratmules come in and stable them near you. You tell them the addresses to go to and give them a description of Jessie. Meanwhile you go to the other closest pair of houses and hide in an alleyway, using your Sonar every 10 minutes or so.

"How am I in trouble, big man? I haven't done anything wrong. I love my mommy and daddy! I love them so much, I am a good little girl and you are all rotten spoiled brats! You don't deserve how good you have it, but I am a good girl! I am a good, good girl!" Her voice is high and cracked.

"Well, kiddo, that was fun. I think I'll get going now before you run me out of quarters! heh. Here's my card, if you need me." Willie says, patting his two buddies on the shoulder and flinging a business card your way, before walking out of the saloon.

"Willie Constaice, Professional Phantasm, Assassin-For-Hire, Card Shark, XXX-XXX-XXXX, New Scotsdale"
(phone number is detected as spam)

>ACTION?
>>
Huh. Non asshats. Lets go get that flamethrower now.
>>
rolled 82 = 82

>>20018283

I like that guy, do we need anyone dead?
Does he need our services? could be likely..

Let's see what we can trade all this for!
>>
>>20018264
I wonder what a "professional phantasm" is.
now i'm curious
>>
>>20018264
We ought to get business cards too.
>>
It's quite late, and you're pretty sure that the town marketplace isn't open. You suppose you could trade some stuff for a night at the inn and go into sleep mode to preserve some energy, since you are solar powered.
>>
>>20018360
do we even need a room? Go bury ourselves somewhere and wait it out.
>>
>>20018375
Instead of trading your hard-earned loot, you decide to just park your ass down, toss your ratmule and Rex the last of your meat, and then curl up with them and go into sleep mode.
>>
You wake up the next morning feeling somewhat refreshed, rustle Rex and Ratmule awake, and decide to go to the Tractormaede marketplace.

It is a bustling place, relatively, with a dozen or so stalls selling various things. There is a stall selling ammo, and a stall selling food, both of which you suppose you'll need.

>ACTION?
>>
rolled 99 = 99

>>20018478

Dont we already have a fair bit of ammo? we could see what the guns and ammo guys have. Can we trade stuff for upgrades?
>>
>>20018478
Lets get some food for the animals, also whats our inventory at the moment?
>>
>>20018494
The law enforcement, as John Cotton said, are the only people in Tractormaede that have town-supplied weaponry. They have various ammo type things. And no, only Pete went by that rule since he was awesome.
