Screw the usual lead in.
TG QUEST!!!

When last we left our command crew, they had defeated the Black Ops assailing them and were making plans to retake the Sector HQ from the remnants of the enemy task force. ANON has finished compiling the list of losses. These are the forces that could not be salvaged or brought back. Your extreme ability to mitigate losses saved far, far more men.

6 Tactical Space Marines
14 Prawn Suits
5 Delta Greens
1 X-COM NOVA Rookie Squad
1 X-COM NOVA Squad
The Great Fox
3 TIE-Defenders
1 Exequeror
4 Navy Comets
3 Myrmidons
3 R-types
all Solvalous
500 Securitrons

Day: 5
Current Objectives: Survive the Black Ops assault.
Fleet Location:Sector Headquarters.

Wait, those Delta Greens are completely gone? Their cortical stacks should have saved them. Same with the Prawns.
Yeah they're out of commission till they're rebuilt, but still.
>>
>>20121674
Have Mouse use our comm array to try to contact the base personnel of the base. We need to know how to shut down the interdiction field generator.
Also disposition of Black Ops boarders.
>>
Start using our codes to try and see if we can be registered as friendly to the Station.
>>
rolled 47 = 47

>>20121853
The Prawns were saved, but their suits are totaled. If you like, you can note the pilots are alive if you manage to get new suits.

The 5 Greens suffered some sort of stack failure. No technology works 100% of the time.

>>20121899
>>
>>20122014
And the remote backups? Cortical Stacks back up their owner's mind every couple days when they have the ability to, and we have plenty of harddrive space.
>>
>>20122014
Fuck!
Make sure the bodies are preserved so that we can do Resurrection or True Resurrection.
The same should be true of the X-COM squads and the pilots of the fighters.
>>
>>20122062
>>20122014
>>20122069

There would be remote backups then, I suppose. So you can clone them. As always, Resurrection is an option.

You attempt to contact the base staff, but save for the main relay, the communications seem to be down. Attempts to work around this by reaching individual/personal communicators fail, suggesting jamming or something similar to it.
>>
>>20122154
Is there a way we can physically hook in using some kind of data cable? If not, we may have to dock and actually risk it being trapped.
>>
>>20122154
Okay.
What about active scans by the Oncoming Storm and the Indefatigable, as well as by the Protoss Observers to track down the BO?

Also get Gondegal prepped to go over and make contact and turn off the interdiction field.
>>
rolled 12 = 12

>>20122245
>>20122236

You can attempt to use a cable to establish a manual connection between one of your ships and the base's infonet.

The base's shielding prevents most of your ships from determining anything going on inside, but the top of the line sensors on the Storm have a chance of learning something...
>>
>>20122338
Unfortunately ship damage and the remaining system corruption left after Vol Opt's struggle has left your sensors in shambles. You cannot detect anything from the outside.
>>
>>20122348
Have one of the summoned creatures cast Planetary Adaptation to give them the ability to breath in space, then run the cable to the base.
>>
>>20122437
This.
If they can't, then we can try to send a Viper Probe Droid.
>>
>>20122338
Airquote; your inbox *wink*
>>
>>20122437
One of your celestials goes to work, an Al'Kesh volunteering for relay duty. The connection is made with relative ease. You have a hardline connection to the base's infonet now.
>>
>>20122557
Can we . . .

connect to the security camera to see where the Black Ops units currently are.

see if we can shut down the interdictor or if it's manual.

Check up on Holtz and the other Sector base personnel.

Mouse, get to it.
>>
>>20122557
Mouse, Sandmen, Deckers, and Data.
Try to access the IFF system and internal security cameras.
>>
rolled 44 = 44

>>20122646
>>20122682
The Deckers are still out of it from Vol Opt, but the rest get to work.
>>
>>20122747
Mouse manages to hack into the base's security cameras, panning through the various views until you get a general idea of the Black Ops' locations and activities. They seem to be scattered in small to medium groups throughout the facility, hunting down and dispatching the base staff, who have either gone into hiding or have organized scattered resistances. Very rarely do the enemy soldiers take prisoners.
>>
>>20122963
Are there any turrets or other base protections we can use to save the base staff? Otherwise, we may have to disable the shields.
>>
>>20122998
There are, if you want to try to hack into them.
>>
>>20123121
I would like to have Mouse attempt to hack into the security turrets.

Do not turn them on until it can be verified that they won't kill everything they see.
>>
>>20123121
Can Mouse first access the base IFF system and see if we'd be fired on by the base defenses, and if the Black Ops can be tagged as hostiles.
>>
rolled 4, 86 = 90

>>20123159
>>20123232
Mouse and your cyberwarfare team begin their not-so-dark work...
>>
>>20123266
That is not an indication of good.
Are we about to have more casualties?
>>
>>20123351
It likely means that Mouse got caught up on a security protocol that wasted a large amount of him time, but the other guys managed to get around it.
>>
rolled 14 = 14

>>20123266
Mouse and company manage to hack into the base's IFF and register everyone in the Task Force as friendlies, simultaneously tagging all the Black Ops as hostiles. However, when they attempt to activate the security turrets, they trigger a few lines of code that fry the base's internal security, and immediately detect an attempt to hack into the fleet network via the connection!
>>
>>20123437
Have the outsider use his sword to cut the line.
>>
>>20123437
Physically cut the connection. Have the celestial use his sword to cut the cable.
>>
>>20123461
The Outsider cuts the line neatly, severing the connection. However it is too late, and the virus slips into the network.
>>
>>20123502
Goddammit, not again.
Have Mouse, Data, and the Sandmen track down that virus and kill it.
>>
>>20123502
Have Elaine throw a couple heals at the computers. It worked last time. I don't want Mouse to hook into the computer, he might get infected.
>>
>>20123542
So just Data working via consoles and Elaine's Esuna spells?
>>
>>20123580
Mouse can use the consoles, as can our other Cyberwarfare specialists.

Just don't plug in or we might have another rigger on our hands.
>>
rolled 54, 14 = 68

Elaine taps into her reserves to summon another chain of Esunas as Mouse and the other furiously type in an effort to undo what they have wrought.
>>
>>20123611
Alright.
We should put together an isolinear chip physical firewall box for everyone.
>>
>>20123663
Elaine manages to lock down the Storm, immunizing it against the virus as Mouse chases it all across the fleet's network. In the end, it is Data that finally manages to spring a cleverly coded trap on the rampaging virus, eradicating it and all its copies from the fleet network. However, the program managed to degrade a good deal of the fleet's software. As the damage is slowly restored, you may find unexpected bugs.
>>
>>20123722
Well, our hackers will have work to do while the engineers work.
>>
>>20123722
Okay.
I think now is the time to get Gondegal ready to go and start breaking stuff.

We need to turn off the jammer and the interdiction field.
>>
>>20123827
Beyond telling Gondegal to go over and shut down the interdictors, are you going to make any other preparations?
>>
>>20123722
And since we have time, I want Vitun and our Deva to start working on putting together a Demiplane with these characteristics.

-Standard elemental characteristics
-standard gravity
-self contained
-laboratory themed

I'd like the Deva to go with. He should have a spell that allows him to walk through walls. His Dispel magic at will help protect Gondegal, and he should be able to cast invisibility.
>>
>>20123949
sorry, let me rephrase that, when they have time, start working on that demi-plane.

Deva goes with Gondegal using his spells to follow. His casting will keep Gondegal from harm.
>>
>>20123896
Yes.
Prepare an Al'Kesh with the YVH Droid Platoon, the portable holo-emitters, the Mobile Emitters, and HK-50.
Another one with Darius and the Tactical Marines, and X-COM squad, and MI A and B.

A third with TG soldiers, 24 Securitrons, and High-Sec. Also Aurors.

4,5,6 are to have grenades and explosives prepared to be beamed into the midst of Black Op units.

7 and 8 are to start beaming survivors out.
>>
>>20123949
What spell would that be?
>>
>>20124126
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/passwall.htm would be one of them.

I'm looking for the Divine equivalent, but I can't find it right now.
>>
Gondegal and the nameless Astral Deva fly towards the exterior of the base, the ghost passing through the solid wall effortlessly as the Deva casts a spell to open a breach. A large amount of atmosphere is vented behind her as she enters the structure, emergency bulkheads closing around the room she opened to prevent loss of atmosphere. The room itself appears to be a mostly empty cargohold. With the sealed bulkheads, the Deva is already effectively blocked from proceeding further. Will Gondegal proceed without her?
>>
>>20124344
Is Char able to make the shot of firing the birdlime launcher at the hole to close it, and then Gondegal can do a manual override to open the door.
>>
>>20124344
Dispel magic on the hole it made.
And i'm an idiot.

Astral Devas can cast Alter shape at will. Have him turn into something insubstatial like Gondegal.
>>
>>20124431
A Deva's ability works like alter self. Humanoid type only.

The hole behind the Deva is swiftly dispelled, the atmosphere slowly returning to normal. The bulkheads should open when the pressure is normalized. Will Gondegal wait or go ahead?
>>
>>20124431
Like a gas? Or a creature with natural invisibility?
>>
>>20124566
Have Gondegal go ahead. The faster the interdiction field and jammer go down, the sooner we can beam out trapped base personnel.

Which reminds me, Gondegal does have a set of pattern enhancers so that we can still beam people out regardless of the jammer still being up, right?
And have we been able to identify a critical power junction for the interdict field generator that Gondegal could sabotage to bring the field down?
>>
>>20124574
Devas can turn invisible at will.
>>
>>20124566

Change Shape (Su)

A creature with this special quality has the ability to assume the appearance of a specific creature or type of creature (usually a humanoid), but retains most of its own physical qualities. The creature cannot change shape to a form more than one size category smaller or larger than its original form. This ability functions as a polymorph spell, the type of which is listed in the creature’s description, but the creature does not adjust its ability scores (although it gains any other abilities of the creature it mimics). Unless otherwise stated, it can remain in an alternate form indefinitely. Some creatures, such as lycanthropes, can transform into unique forms with special modifiers and abilities. These creatures do adjust their ability scores, as noted in their descriptions.

Format: change shape (wolf, beast shape I); Location: SQ, and in Special Abilities for creatures with a unique listing.

>Should be able to turn into stuff other than humanoids, it uses Wolf as an example.
>>
>>20124654
>SQ change shape (alter self).

I am interpreting the presence of Alter Self in parenthesis after the ability to mean the ability's parameters are limited to Alter Self.
>>
>>20124654
Why could the Deva turn into that can phase through walls?
>>
Use the ability to gain the ectoplasmic template? that'd allow him to walk through walls.
>>
>>20124758
I am really, really, REALLY behind on the times for this quest, and I might be totally wrong, but...isn't there a monster called a "kython" I believe, that has a form which can move through solid matter?
>>
>>20124823
Let's do it if we can. That way the Deva won't need to wait for the pressure to equalize.
>>
>>20124855
Very nasty demon. Those things are annoying as hell and I'm pretty sure an Angel wouldn't turn into one willingly.
>>
>>20124885
From what I understand, though, they're not actually demons. They're more like the D&D version of the xenomorphs. They were created by demonic experimentation, but I think they're just monsters.
>>
Even in TG Quest I am not free from D&D rules arguments. Let me make this faster. This Deva's limited to Alter Self for Change Shape. Sorry if that's an imposition, but rules arguments should never hold up gameplay.
>>
>>20124934
Ok. Well, we should wait for the pressure to equalize then. I don't want Godegal on his own. while they're waiting, have the deva cast some buffs.
>>
>>20124976
That sounds like a good idea. I second this notion. Also, I'd like to ask if there is a summary of the quest thus far. I haven't been keeping track of it since the sabotage missions on 8-bit Dystopia, and I feel VERY out of the loop.
>>
>>20125005
After that, we went to Zerg Quest, had a massive crossover, then when we got back to base, Black Ops attacked us.
>>
>>20125005
Oh, and the 6/6 SUE capture from Ah My Goddess. that was fun.
>>
rolled 18 = 18

>>20125046
Speaking of which, did the energy creature you guys accidentally released just herald the end of the world and return of the Xel'Naga in ZQ? Because that's what it looks like and I am laughing my ass off at that. Never have I seen such dire consequences from a crossover since Drakengard and Nier.

The Deva casts her complement of buffs on herself and Gondegal, then the two proceed down the now open, and empty hallways in search of the interdictors...
>>
>>20125046
>>20125054
O.o
Wow. This has come such a long way from the days of the first Editors thread.
>>
>>20125133
Yep, and the Zerg Quest players may or may not have accidentally let all the Xel'naga bring themselves back to life. While that was happening, we may or may not have put on a musical for them.
>>
>>20125163
I...I'm not sure how to respond to that, to be honest. Threads interacting with each other...yeah, this got way more complicated than I though. *scratches head*
>>20125133
Okay, so, should we have Gondegal keep ahead of the Deva as a sort of lookout so that they can remain inconspicuous? Or should we have them just charge in with ghostly/celestial double-teaming?
>>
>>20125005
Oh man, then you missed when the mistakes of our youth came back to bite us like Jaws taking a bite out of a swimmer.
>>
>>20125193
Oh god. Sorry to keep asking questions, OP, but I just gotta know.
>>
>>20125133
Wait. We have the base plans, don't we?
Have ANON, Doc Cossack, and Data go over the plans and find a critical junction box that we can sabotage, rather than the field generator itself.
>>
>>20125212
You should have seen my "Ask god for free units" plan that I pulled out of my ass and it succeeded.

that was amazing.
>>
>>20125226
That doesn't sound like a bad plan. That way we don't have to repair or replace equipment.

What is this madness. I will have to read. So much reading. I will do it. All of the reading. All of it.

>>20125274
Zerg Quest cross-over thread. It was awesome.

Vitun cast Miracle to save the protoss from being wiped out (and be friendly to us), and we got an 80 something for success. Saved them all and he was only knocked out for a week.
>>
rolled 36 = 36

>>20125212
Remember those Orz you guys "allied with" way back in the beginning? They came back. In every place you led them to, thus allowing them access.

>>20125226
Doctor Cossack is still recovering. Anon and Data go over the plans.
>>
>>20125133
>> Never have I seen such dire consequences from a crossover since Drakengard and Nier.

I've never played either game; what happened in there?
>>
>>20125324
Wow. That is WAY back. Like first few threads back. Okay, so, should we be trying to make contact with the resistance group(s) if Gondegal and/or the Deva pass by them? Let them know that we're just outside, don't give up the fight/hope, etc.?
>>
>>20125313
80 nothing. You got somewhere around 99.

>>20125324
A junction box is located a short distance deeper into the base that should be able to kill the power. Hopefully messing with it won't cause horrible shapeshifting monsters to appear. /Obligatory The Thing Reference.

Everything that happens in Nier is a direct result of Drakengard's last ending being a lol crossover. And everything that happens in Nier makes my Quest Mastering seem like a heaven of benevolence.

>>20125404
Ha! I just started reading that one a day or two ago. Good to know people are familiar with it, though I'm sure it is in no way relevant to this quest. At all.
>>
Gondegal and the invisible Deva make their way down the halls towards the junction box passing empty room after empty room. After a short while, the halls become splattered with blood, slain Transpace Guard workers scattered around like broken dolls. Every so often, a dead Black Ops is present as well, testament to the desperate struggles of the dead. As the pair press on, the gore takes a sudden turn for the worse, dismembered body parts and pools of blood obscuring any trace of the base's silvery walls for a good twenty feet. They are still a good fifteen minutes from the junction box.
>>
>>20125564
Damn...Black Ops don't show any mercy, do they. I suppose that's what they're good at, but still...damn. Let's make sure the Deva and Gondegal are maxed out on those buffs.

Ok. It's concentration, so have him keep it on as they proceed. It'll make anything that's evil light up like a christmas tree.

Gondegal's a paladin. He should turn on his as well.

Shouldn't that be a challenge for me, not you?

>>20125700
Gondegal and the Deva continue forward, the ghost paladin floating effortlessly forward as the Deva suddenly feels a terrible pain driving deep into her body. Horrible gashes open up all over her front and her left leg is sliced clearly off as her blood drips off a web of so fine as to be invisible wires in front of her. A mono-filament wire trap. It is suddenly quite clear what dismembered all those body parts as the Deva collapses backward, near death already.

Probably. We don't actually know Gondegal's level though.

Heal will heal 150 hit points though, so it should be better.

>>20125786
>14
Immortal and with centuries of experience, even angels sometimes falter. Overcome with the pain, the angel is unable to focus properly to cast a spell that might save herself.

>>20125814
Luckily, Gondegal lays on hands, stopping the bleeding and saving the deva's life. However, she is still injured, and missing a leg. The devilish trap that wrought such damage is now soaked in blood and clearly visible.
>>
>>20125848
Can the Gondegal bring the Deva's leg to her? She should be able to heal herself, and if it's "connected" it may reattach.
>>
>>>/mlp/
because i was encouraged.
>>
>>20125848
Have Gondegal move the Deva out sight so she won't get killed whilst recovering. Then have him high-tail it to that power junction. The only blood that will continue to spill on this station should be Black Ops'.
>>

>>20125896
I specifically checked. You still need Regenerate. Or surgery back at the ship. No worries though, the leg should keep. Celestial make up and all.

>>20125916
Gondegal opens a small supply closet in this hall and shuffles the Deva inside, then proceeds down the hall, towards the objective.
>>
>>20125959
>3, 35
god fucking damnit...
>>
>>20125959
Hopefully there aren't any traps down the way that would inhibit a being of even Gondegal's status. Sadly, I won't get to see it until the morn. Adieu, good anons. Lead our forces to glorious victory. I hope to participate in the next thread.
>>
>>20125959
Gondegal hears the sound of gunfire and explosions from further down the hall as it begins to twist and bend around an observation area, stars glittering in the distance from the few ports that aren't covered with an armored shutter to prevent damage in battle. A closed hatch at the end of the hall leads to a large maintenance area where the box is located, and the violent sounds issue from here. It's just a little further to that junction box...

As the Deva hides in the closet, she suddenly hears heavy footfalls and breathing outside. The sounds come closer and closer as her Detect Evil sense suddenly pings intensity to the point of pain in the direction of the sound.

We should just dump the remainder of our securitron force into the base.

The base personnel need the respite if the black ops pull back to regroup and engage the new threat.

Also. The executor has a literal TON of MSE-6 mouse droids.

UNLOAD THEM ALL. Them bots scurrying everywhere will help us build a picture of whats going on and allow our snipers to provide support fire on retreating personnel.

oh, and this stuff for demi-plane

-Standard elemental characteristics
-standard gravity
-self contained
-laboratory themed
-no seasons, 12 hour days
-enhanced magic (creation)
-double normal time

That should give us a good enough work place. Should we move all our Researchers in there, it'll be equivalent to twice as many people. And that's avoiding Timeless, because timeless demiplanes are bullshit.

I have to laugh because now my bizarre luck is a notable factor here on 4chan as well. I have at least one friend who has declared me living proof that some form of bad luck exists. I recall that once I managed to roll snake eyes on 2d100 on a roll where that was literally the only way to fail. I managed to kill one of my characters by rolling the following when using a grenade launcher in d20 Modern. Nat 1, nat 1 on confirm critical miss, nat 1 on confirm upgraded critical miss, nat 1 on that. GM ruled I tripped and fired the launcher at my feet.

Ah, the memories.

Have I shown you "Fumbles the Abjurer?"

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27939266/OTIKAS.pdf

Everyone else is a competant Abjurer with strengths that complement other's weaknesses.

Otikas is a batshit insane abjurer who has a parrot familiar that only knows sign language. He often enchants the bird with magic fang and uses it as a mace. He's also a word-caster and builds his spells from scratch on the spot.

With the Danny Phantom dudes, I pictured that as "Quick, Otikas can handle this! [Sonic Vulnrability]" "Um, you mean [Sonic Immunity]?"
>Abjurers all die.
Later in the infirmary. "Otikas, what were you thinking?" "Otikas dropped the ball. Otikas sorry."

Can't. The Interdiction Field is still up, making teleportation impossible, and the hangars are still presumably under Black Ops control.

>allow our snipers to provide support fire on retreating personnel.
Again, the interdiction field means that the micro-transporter modules can't be used.

>>20126121
Summon Monster V, one to keep the whatever it is busy, while a second one is cast to summon something to get the Deva out of there, seems to be the best course of action.

Well the last group of black ops troops were packing heavy railguns to punch through instead of teleport.

Okay, part of the time in the demi-plane is going to be spent feeding the designs of the Prawn Suits, Space Marine Tactical Power Armor, and TIE-Defender designs into the Hercules.
Definitely need to replace the R-Types.
The Solvalous pilots were saved, so instead of getting more Solvalous for them to pilot, I think we should either get them into R-Types or VF-25's.

Ooh, MetaOP, you should make that another scene during downtime: the Aurors and the Abjurers talking about their respective 'Fumbles'.

We need a faster means of repairing or rebuilding bodies.

Fortunately, since we have intact backup copies of our soldiers' State Vectors, we can resleave them once the bodies are ready.

If the bodies are intact, we should be able to cut down the amount of time required by having the regeneration tanks repair the bodies rather than building new ones from DNA samples. Then, once the repairs are completed, resleave the backup State Vector into the body.

So, the plan:
Have the Deva cast Summon Monster V two times.
Once, to summon 1d3 Celestial Lions to keep the evil thing busy, and the second time to summon a Hound Archon to help her get the fuck away, since she's in no position to fight with a leg sheared off.
>>
>>20137038
She'd be better off summoning a single dire lion. She should also make herself invisible as well.
>>
>>20137325
But a Celestial Dire Lion is from Summon Monster VI, a 6th level spell. According to her character sheet, she only has up to 5th level spells.
>>
>>20137365

Not for pathfinder.
>>
>>20137325
She's been invisible.

I return. Gimme 15 minutes to scarf dinner down.
>>
>>20138173
The Deva attempts to summon celestial aid to her side, but though her voice rings clear with a divine call for help, nothing happens. The Dimensional Stabilizer present in the base appears to be preventing any sort of planar travel within its area of effect.

Even more worrisome is the sudden halt of the footfalls. The casting of the spell has drawn attention.
>>
>>20138486
have her prepare a holy smite.
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/h/holy-smite
20 foot burst, only harms evil.
She'll trigger it should she hear them get close enough.
>>
>>20138486
Oh shit.
Wait. That spell that the Deva used to enter the base; can she cast it at the floor, drop down to the next level, then dispel it to close it up?

Also, I think we need to get the breaching team ready.
Can ANON identify the closest area where we could have a VF-25 use it's head lasers to cut open a hole, then have a droid with a holo-emitter create a holographic airlock over the hole.
We have the droids go in first, secure a beachhead, then BLU team to set up sentries, then the Holy Weapon Strike Team (Avatar, Agrias, Mustadio, Lyla, Alicia and Valian, Finalon)
>>
>>20138578

Should also get other VF-25s not doing anything begin strafting runs on the hanger. Let them think we're prepping for a direct assault on it.
>>
>>20138578
We use the deployment from >>20124032
But have Al'Kesh 4 carry the Holy Strike Team. Include White Mage Squad A with them.
See if Darius and Star-Lord are up for more combat. If they are, put them on that transport.
>>
>>20138665
Well, be careful when shooting. Base survivors might be holed up in the hangar waiting for rescue.
Have the VF-25's nose around the hangar and make sure their barriers are up in case they're fired upon.

Even better if we send some Ciper Probe Droids there.
>>
>>20138578
...a holographic air...

ANON locates the nearest ideal point for breaching, but the Deva is out of Passwall spells.

The footfalls get closer and closer, the Deva gathers power to her in preparation for a Holy Smite.

Meanwhile, Gondegal passes through the hatch to enter a large room filled with strange machines, piping, and cables. A scattered handful of dead bodies litter the floor as a group of 4 soldiers in Black Ops powered armor are locked in a fire fight with two guardsmen in the familiar blue and green HQ Security Armor. The Black Ops take cover behind a group of slagged crates, while the guards shield themselves with a pair of metal support pillars. Lasers split the air, burning holes in the walls when they miss. Gondegal immediately notices the fighting is less furious than normal... both sides are stopping to aim carefully rather than use suppressing fire or full automatic.
>>
>>20138734

Obviously, something explody is in the area.
>>
>>20138734

Could we possibly have the Deva cast "Heal" on herself? It may be strong enough to recover lost limbs. At the very least, it would restore a good deal of HP that she has lost.
>>
>>20138734
Star Trek holograms are hard holograms so it could work.
As for Gondegal, have him phase his hand through the Black Ops armor and materialize his hand in their spine. Once they've been paralyzed from the neck down, they won't give us trouble.

I still suggest we have the droids breach now to help out the Deva faster.
>>
>>20138785

Probably the life support systems or some sort of hazardous material transfer stuff. Or a room where you really don't want to shoot any of the power cables for fear of disabling vital systems.
>>
>>20138821
nope, He already answered that. Regenerate is needed.

She could heal herself, but it won't fix her missing leg. We need Vitun for that.
>>
>>20138832

I'm not sure if Gondegal can selectively materialize parts of himself. If he gets behind them and tries to materialize within their body, he'll be a sitting duck for at least two other Black Ops people. Things may not go well for him if he can't disengage fast enough.
>>
>>20138901
He can selectively materialize. We did it against Wily and Robotnik.
>>
>>20138832

Why not just inside their brains and squeeze.
>>
>>20138949
Because that's not the type of thing a paladin would do.
>>
Also, keep in mind that our Astral Deva has an ace up her sleeve for those evil things out to get her: Holy Word. The creatures outside of the room will be deafened, at the very least. If they're low level grunts going out to pick off stragglers, they're in for a world of no-saving roll hurt.

Also seconding having a droid boarding team breach the base.

OP, is the junction box within the room Gondegal is in? Or is it further along?
>>
>>20138971
The box is in the room with the fighting.
>>
>>20138963

Paladins are perfectly okay with slicing or bashing or otherwise smiting the hell out of enemies with various weaponry. Why the hell would they be against messing up an opponent's brain when that's exactly what they would do if they had to kill someone with a hammer or a mace?
>>
>>20139113
Because killing someone via a sneaky method like that is dishonorable.
>>
>>20138949
Mostly because, technically, we're still on the same side. We're still part of the Transpace Guard.

Also, while we CAN use Speak with Dead to interrogate Black Ops soldiers, being able to use Legilimency to root through their memories means we don't have to deal with cryptic or curt answers.
>>
>>20139136
Because if it's a living being their own ghost is in their body, blocking him. 3.5 Ghosts have a lot of abilities, but materialize instant death isn't one of them.
>>
>>20139136

I suppose. I guess paralyzing them would provide a safer alternative than them having a spasm and shooting up the place in their death throes.

>>20138734

OP, would a solid holographic seal work to block the hole our breaching forces would make? Or would we need to weld some scrap together/replicate large sheets of material to seal up holes in the HQ's structure?
>>
>>20139198
Does that mean that Gondegal can't break their spines?

What about materializing his fingers right in front of their eyes to violently poke them, then his fist inside their mouth to cause them to gag and throw up inside their helmets?
>>
>>20139206
I guess that would work, but where are you getting the hard emitters? The Incursion emitters are just holo-disguises, it was my understanding they weren't technology-based Green Lantern rings.
>>
>>20139198

So the instant materialize paralyze trick won't work, then?

I guess Gondegal could attempt to scramble the suits' power supply, but that's probably very difficult to do. He might be better off locating the junction box and doing his thing so we can immediately beam in and/or beam out troops as we please.
>>
>>20139265
We have 3 Portable Holo-Emitters, based on the same technology as the Mobile Emitter, except the size of a suitcase so it can make multiple holograms in a 5m radius.
I made sure to write them down on the Beachhead Droid Assault Team deployment roster.
>>
>>20139302
Here, I listed them here:
>>20124032

Also, here's the entry on them:
http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Portable_emitter
>>
>>20139345
Forgot about those.
OK, I guess it could make that.

Gondegal is awaiting orders as the footfalls are almost upon the Deva.
>>
>>20139514

I think we should have Gondegal attempt to reach the junction box and scramble it. While incapacitating the Black Ops troopers would serve to help out the TG guardsmen, being able to teleport our own troops into the station would make retaking the station much easier.
>>
>>20139514
Gondegal is to try to shut down the junction box first, then the spine-break attacks on the Black Ops soldiers. If he can't, then have him materialize his fingers inside their helmets and jam his thumbs into their eyes and ram a fist down their throats to cause them to vomit in their helmets.

As for the Deva, have her ready Holy Smite, Blade Barrier, and Dispel Evil.

Have Al'Kesh 1 with the Droid Breach Assault Team also pick up BLU Team and have them breach the base at ANON's indicated spot, using a Portable Holo-Emitter to create a holographic airlock so that the Al'Kesh can get troops into the base without them being exposed to vacuum.
Have Al'Kesh 2 ready to go, have the Avatar, Finalon, Agrias, Lyla, Mustadio, Alicia, Lavian, Pharoah Man, Skull Man, and White Mage Squad A put onto Al'Kesh 3 and have them go in right after the droids.
>>
>>20139651
If Gondegal is successful in shutting down the interdiction field generator, then we will be able to beam support straight to the Deva and beam out survivors.

Also have the Storm, the Indefatigable, the RVF-25, and all Observers run continuous scans for any transporter activity besides our own; we can't allow the Black Ops boarders to attempt to escape, or to use the transporters to their advantage.
Have the TIE-Defenders, the VF-25's, and all fighter squadrons continue combat patrols in case there's still a cloaked Black Ops transport somewhere.
>>

Gondegal's manifestation ability doesn't quite work like that, but he can Smite them with a ghostly blade.

Regardless, the ghost makes his way through the battle and attempts to flip the switches and slice the cables Data told him to.
>>
>>20139861
The fighting continues, one of the Black Ops soldiers going down with a smoking hole in his chest as Gondegal manages to slice the correct cables. The interdict field sputters, then fails for this section of the base.

The door to the closet the Deva is hidden in is roughly torn open, revealing a Black Ops soldier with some sort of terrible growth bursting from within his armor. His left arm appears to have mutated into a wicked scythe, and pulsating flesh oozes from cracks in his armor. The Deva immediately unleashes a Holy Smite and the creature reels backward with a howl, allowing the Deva to hobble out of the closet and behind him.
>>
>>20139651
The VF breaches the wall at the designated point, the airlock shimmering into place as the droids begin to roll into the base.
>>
>>20139972

I'm thinking that we should beam out the Deva so she can get patched up.

What troops should we beam into the station?

>Black Ops guy

Either he's been chaos-tainted or that's some sort of parasitic alien hostile takeover.
>>
>>20140009

Do it.

Also bring a ton of the MSE-6 mouse droids.

Those guys running about will help us map out whats going on and lead surviving personnel to safely if possible.
>>
>>20140009
>>20140033
The Deva shimmers and disappears, leaving behind the Black Ops to howl impotently. In her place a swarm of MSE droids begin to flood the base floor, rolling around and beginning Operation: MouseMap.

Send her to Vitun. He can regenerate her limb, then we'll send her back to combat.

Her ability to Holy Smite at will makes her too useful to leave behind.

If we can get a transporter lock, have Al'Kesh 6 beam the Deva to Medical on the Storm. Doc Lazarus should be able to get the leg reattached via nanites in a few minutes.

Have Al'Kesh 5 beam a pound of C4 to that evil-tainted Black Ops soldier's feet, and once the Deva is clear, detonate it.

Have the Holy Strike Team beamed in a corridor away, and have Lyla cast Haste and Shell on everyone while the other White Mages cast ReRaise.

Have Gondegal take out the remaining Black Ops in the room.

Have Al'Kesh 7 and 8 begin beaming survivors we can get transporter locks on, and get them to either Medical or question them about the situation.
>>
>>20140105

Do we still have any leftover Celestials from Vitun's spell, aside from the Astral Deva hero? If so, we may be able to teleport them into the junction box room and have then engage the remaining 3 Black Ops troopers in close-quarters combat.
>>
>>20140105
>>20140133
We could have the Mobile Emitters switch to Emergency Security Holograms equipped with phaser rifles, and have them do a site-to-site transport to just outside the room in order to flank the Black Ops troopers.
And since they're holograms, shooting them does jack shit.
>>
>>20139972

Sounds like zerg infestation to me. If our comm lines aren't down, ask Tassadar if he senses the presence of zerg telepathy.

Can the mouse droids attack? If so, have one of them coup de grace that infested soldier while he's down.
>>
>>20140187

>infestation....

> His left arm appears to have mutated into a wicked scythe

Shit. Thats no zerg infestation, thats a genestealer mutation!
>>
>>20140154

Are those the same emitters that we're using to maintain the Hologram Airlock? Or do we have other emitters on hand that we can use to create security holograms?

Also, we should probably find a more permanent way to seal the area of the station we've breached, or find a way to create a more permanent boarding area. We could possibly get the Overlord dropship or one of our capital ships to engage in boarding actions to create a more stable channel from our ship to HQ.
>>
>>20140187

The MSE-6 is pretty much a brick-sized and box-shaped droid with wheels. It can't really do much harm aside from maybe tripping someone up or falling on them from great heights. We could use them to hack into places or do some routine maintenance or cleaning, but combat isn't their strong suit.
>>
>>20140214
>Are those the same emitters that we're using to maintain the Hologram Airlock?
No, completely different.
1 Portable Holo-Emitter is being used to maintain the airlock.
The Mobile Emitter Squad is 12 Mobile Emitters that have a photonic AI that can switch between Emergency Medical, Security, and Engineering skillsets as needed.

This is our Inventory. It's not up to date right now with the latest casualties.

The Deva is brought up to the Medical Bay as a pound of C-4 promptly is beamed down to her old location, obliterating the infected trooper.

Tassadar replies he can sense no Zerg, but he will remain on guard for his hated foes.

Gondegal leaps into action, materializing and running his ghostly blade through one of the Black Ops, causing the other to whirl around to face him. The moment of confusion costs him his life as the guards burn through him.

Your sensors begin to lock onto lifeforms within the base with a TG identification tag, mass beaming them out into the safety of your vessels.
>>
>>20140458
>What a waste of a high roll.
Gondegal effortlessly decapitates the last mook before he can manage anything else.
>>
>>20140281

Ah. Alright. Seconding using Security Holograms with phaser rifles to subdue/kill the remaining 3 Black Ops guys in the junction box room. Gondegal helps out too; maybe he can use his ethereal nature to slide in and out of the floor around the Black Ops team to help him evade retaliation.
>>
>>20140458

WAIT WAIT WAIT.

Observe the transporter buffer for any abnormalities before letting them rematerialize. Have a well armed security team with sealed suits on hand when they appear. If there's some sort of alien infection going around, we need to make damned sure it doesn't get loose on our ships.
>>
>>20140543
>Observe the transporter buffer for any abnormalities before letting them rematerialize.
That's actually a standard procedure for all transporter technology, especially the Asgard transporters that we're using.
>>
>>20140458

Have the personnel at the Medical Bay start treating the wounded TG base staff. Update the relatively healthy base staff on the results of our space battle with the Black Ops remnants, and ask them about any information on what Black Ops might be targeting inside HQ in particular. We just need the cliff notes, we'll get the complete story later on.

Also, ask them if any part of HQ would hold any recordings about what has transpired within the TG base's Communication Station. If Elaine and Mouse weren't able to recover the recording we got, we'll need other evidence to implicate the Black Ops force here of going rogue.
>>
>>20140477
>>20140543
>>20140554

Seconding scanning them before treatment or questioning commences. We should also probably explain to them that we're conducting a scan to make sure that they don't have any contagious infections or magical/psionic compulsions affecting them.
>>
>>20140477
>>20140458
Now that we're inside, is there a security console that Mouse could access to active HQ's internal defenses?
No direct connections this time, just using the console normally.
>>
With that standard contamination protocols in place, you begin shuttling the base staff aboard, quickly questioning them as you do so. You learn that the Black Ops fleet arrived, requested docking for fleet and resupply, and unloaded a large quantity of troops which spread throughout the base. When they were all in position, they acted on some sort of signal, attempting to apprehend all the base staff. When the base resisted, they swiftly began aiming to kill instead of capture.

Locating a console for Mouse to use is child's play, and the staff seem clean of infection.
>>
>>20141025

Shit. So Yurgus wasn't *purely* going mad with power, he may have been acting on orders from another compromised TG official or Kane or whomever.

Ask the remaining base staff if there are any pitfalls or hazards we should keep an eye out for; stuff like monofilament wire traps, contaminated areas, or special weaponry that some Black Ops members may be using. Also ask them if we can get any directions to the teleportation interdiction field junction boxes for the other parts of the base as well.

Also, see if there are any combat personnel amongst them who would be interested in volunteering for a chance to assist our forces in retaking the base.
>>
>>20141025
Have Mouse, the Sandmen, and UNIT begin attempting to restore the base's internal security using consoles; we don't want another virus incident.

Have Al'Kesh 7 and 8 tasked just to shuttling the base staff to safety.
Al'Kesh 5 and 6 are tasked with finding groups of Black Ops and beaming 1lb blocks of C4, a half-dozen krak grenades, or 3 pairs of photon grenades into their midst and detonating them.

The other Al'Kesh are to finish moving our assault teams to the base, and securing areas.
Have Star-Lord and Darius begin coordinating our troops.

Beachhead and Vanguard Team: HK-50, BLU Team, YVH Droid Platoon, Mobile Emitter Squad, Pharaoh Man, Skull Man.

Assault Team: MI A and B, 1 Tactical KI Squad, 1 Devastator KI Squad, 1 X-COM NOVA Veteran Squad, X-COM Squad.

Security Team: SCP Squad, MetPharm High-Sec Squad, 2x X-COM NOVA Rookie Squad, TG Soldier Squad.

Medical: White Mage Squad B, led by Elaine

Holy Strike Team: Finalon, Avatar, Agrias, Mustadio, Alicia, Lavian, Lyla, White Mage Squad A. Deva to join them when her leg is repaired.

Sabotage Team: Ryu and Gondegal

Have them begin securing sections under the guidance of Star-Lord and Darius.
Have the Al'Kesh's attempt beaming in bombs and then remote-detonating them first, and then the teams will attack any Black Ops troops that we can't beam bombs to.
Have Gondegal and Ryu go and shut down the jammer and other interdiction field generators by cutting the junction boxes.

Ask the base personnel we're rescuing if they know what happened to the labs.

A good deal of the Security force volunteers to return to the front, the rest being unable to due to injury. The Black Ops have been laying down plenty of traps to make it difficult for the base staff to use their knowledge of the base to their advantage. Their favorite is the mono-wire trap, but they also have placed laser grids, and good old fashioned claymores with tripwires. You gain directions to the remaining generators easily.

>>20141197
Your troops go to work, though battle-fatigue begins to gnaw on some of them.

There are no reality distortions in the base. It would seem the SUEs are either taken or dead.
>>
>>20141690
Goddammit. Capturing a SUE alive is difficult even under the best of circumstances.

Have troops use a hand phaser set to wide-area beam and at Power Level X to clear the way of traps. That should vaporize any tripwires and mono-wire.
Bring up the Probe Droid Squad, and have each team assigned a pair of Viper Probe Droids which will take point. Their sensors should detect any laser grids and other types of traps.

As for battle-fatigue, have any squad that reports dangerous levels of fatigue to pull back, and be replaced with a fresh X-COM NOVA Rookie Squad.
>>
>>20141690
At last, I make it to an active TG Quest thread! Welcome back, OP.

Also, could we get some Observers in on this action, too? They can detect hidden and cloaked units; which we know Black Ops loves to use. If we don't have enough, ask Tassadar if we can borrow a couple.

Gondegal and Ryu should try to make their way towards the bridge as they disable interdictors. We need to know if Holtz or Eva are somehow alive or whatever. Approach with EXTREME CAUTION. They may have put heavy defenses here to keep us from getting to Holtz and his base-wide access codes.

I second the call for any group feeling dangerous levels of fatigue to inform us and we switch out with fresher troops.

Mouse and the others successfully manage to reactivate the base's security systems, directing them against the Black Ops intruders. Several groups find themselves occupied with sentry guns popping up around them, or security barriers sliding into place. Of more value is the ability to further bolster your ability to detect the Black Ops, and pinpoint their location for beam in of high explosives. More than a few concentrations of the dangerous enemy find themselves blasted to pieces before they can figure out what is happening. The remnants are easily cleaned up by your assault teams, and your precautions with the phasers prevent the loss of several teams to mono-wire traps. A few men are lost to bombs and laser-traps, but their EBOCs save them from a final death.

With the Security Forces to guide them, your teams are able to locate and disable the interdict fields for all regions of the base save one. The core region, where the command bridge and the most vital facilities are located has a multiple redundant system that can't be taken down quickly or easily. You may have to secure that sector the old fashioned way.
>>
>>20142778

Well scan or mousemap the area, pinpoint their locations.

See if we can use those heavy railguns to snipe those who are holding hostages while our other combat teams can penetrate by breeching through walls in neighbouring areas.
>>
>>20142778
Securing that area is going to be a bitch.

Do the security systems allow us a view of the Core region?
Any internal defenses still working there?

Have all Teams regroup once the rest of HQ has been secured. Swap out any squad showing fatigue with fresh troops.
Have Dr. Han of the Zombie Hunters assist Medic with doing field aid with their Mediguns.

Have ANON provide Darius and Star-Lord with a map of the Core region, and update it with fresh information from the MSE droids and the base internal sensors.

Rig up some kind of holy energy bomb with Vitun, our Deva, our white mages and our other casters.

Boom. Anything evil gets burnt. Anything good gets healed.
>>
>>20143525
With Egon's experience in making science work with magic, and the expertise of the Guru's and of the Techno-wizards, I'm sure that they could construct a holy magic amplification array. But I don't think we have the time.

Then again, Egon and Data are both used to constructing highly experimental devices that ultimately save the day in very little time, so maybe they'll be able to come up with something.
>>
>>20143207
We should send Gondegal and Ryu in to get some intel on what's going on.

Also see if Data can modify the Mobile Emitters so that they no longer output in the visible spectrum.
>>
So the plan right now is:
1. Gondegal and Ryu scout inside the Core region. Try to get an idea of how many Black Ops there are.
2. We get all of this evidence together, showing that Black Ops is out of control.
3. Ask Guru's, Egon, and Data if we can hook up Lyla, Elaine, Vitun, the Deva, the Avatar, Agrias, and all of the White Mages to energy colliminators on the Indefatigable to channel a wide-area Holy Nuke spell through the deflector dish to hit the entire Core region at once.
4. Have our vanguard and assault teams cautiously advance forward into the Core region.

It's possible that it's not so much that they were corrupted by what they were fighting, so much as this was their last resort.
They're Black Ops; they don't surrender.
This could be something that Black Ops does to themselves intentionally if it appears that they're about to lose or be captured, in order to ensure that the greatest amount of casualties are inflicted upon the enemy, and that their bodies and souls become contaminated enough to prevent technological and magical means of resurrection and questioning.
>>
>>20151132
It could also be used as a method of demoralization should you not care about your front-line troops.

Pump them full of mutagen and watch them turn into monsters. Enemy freaks out because you're willing to kill your own troops.
>>
We could send video images of the mutations to Darius and see if he can identify if they're Chaos mutations or not.
It's likely, but we should be sure.

Darius observes the footage closely.

"It's not similar to any form of taint I've ever seen, but given the sheer amount of shapes the enemy masquerades in, that's not surprising. Still... Hm. There seems to be a uniform discoloration... Shades of blue, tinged with black and sometimes purple. Slick carapaces... It looks almost like Genestealer mutation... but different."

"A... *ahem*, 'Holy Nuke' device might be workable, but not within these sorts of time constraints, and not when our labs are in disarray from temporarily housing a battle," Egon states, pushing the glasses up on his nose. "When things are back to normal, we can begin researching such a thing."

Ryu and Gondegal begin to slink forward, scouting ahead into the Core.

Ryu stealthily moves past group after group of Black Ops, both malformed and 'normal'. Gondegal remains incorporeal, effortlessly avoiding detection, though by the puzzled looks some of the mutated Black Ops give the air, it's possible that they might be capable of detecting him. The pair moves through several 'old' battlefields filled with the slaughtered corpses of friend and foe, testament to fierce fighting that your forces missed.

As they move deeper into the Core, they stumble upon an unexpected sight. A group of Black Ops soldiers in powered armor opening fire on a trio of their mutated brethren. Five troops in jet-black powered armor have their backs to a wall as they repeatedly fire at three former humans with slick carapaces and scythe-blades for hands rushing towards them. Their eyes burn red in the darkness.

Assist the 5 survivors, they have realized whats going on.
>>
>>20156848
As much as I think these Black Ops fuckers deserve getting a few weeks in a Punishment Sphere and then getting nerve-stapled, we need them alive for their testimony at a court martial and military inquest.

Have Ryu and Gondegal help the 5 Black Ops troopers.
>>
>>20156848
Have Gondegal detect evil on these Black Ops.
We're going to help them, but I don't want them killing more of our guys just because we saved them.
>>
>>20156848

Seconding detect evil. No need to save enemies that may open fire on our dudes as soon as we dispatch their attackers.
>>
>>20157074
Four of the five do indeed register as evil.
>>
>>20157181
Help them all, but focus on protecting the non-evil one.

If he doesn't light up, then he should at least be willing to talk to us.
>>
>>20157181
Who's the one who doesn't register as evil? And even if they're evil, it doesn't mean that they're not willing to join and assist us especially with their own forces mutating. We should try and rescue all of them, in any case. Just make sure that none of them get behind us.
>>
>>20157181
Alright, help them, but only try to protect the non-evil one.
The evil ones I'm not too concerned if they live or die.
>>
>>20157181

Pulvarize the mutants/necromorphs/zombies/whatever and try to save all five black ops dudes. Maybe have someone shout "Don't shoot, we're your friends!" or something to that effect.

Scan the evil black ops troopers as soon as possible. They could be reading evil because they're jerks, or they could be partially infected and about to turn. We need to know which.
>>
>>20157396
>"Don't shoot, we're your friends!"
That's just an invitation to get shot.

Have Gondegal yell out that we're from the Task Force, and if they want to live, cooperate with us.
Gondegal also has an ethereal tricorder we modified for him; once the battle is over have him scan the troopers for possible infection, and then use the tricorder on the mutants to see if the data can help us figure out what we're dealing with here.
>>
>>20157448

Should we have Gondegal attempt to scan the mutants and then the evil-detected Black Ops guys to see if they have similar readings? I'm sure Ryu can toss a few shurikens to distract/injure the mutants while the Black Ops troopers shoot them full of holes. Meanwhile, Gondegal does the tricorder thing and sees if the evil detection could correspond to mutation doing bad stuff to those guys, or if they're just assholes.

If they're just assholes, they might be willing to cooperate if it means they get to survive. If there's a similarity between them and the mutants, it might mean some sort of demonic infestation has taken root within the ranks of the Black Ops.
>>
>>20157448
"We're from Task Force 38! We stand ready to assist, but only if you cease hostilities with us!" Gondegal calls out. The soldiers do not reply, their concentrated fire enough to gun down one of the onrushing mutants as the others enter melee and a bloody brawl breaks out.
>>
>>20157669

Whelp. Have Gondegal and whatever other forces we have in the immediate vicinity join the brawl against the mutants. Top priority is defending the non-evil dude.
>>
>>20157669
Have Gondegal get into the fight, try to protect the non-evil Black Ops soldier.
Have Ryu try to help. But as soon as the battle is over, have him get out of sight, since Gondegal is the only one that, as ethereal, would be immune to the Black Ops weapons.
>>
>>20157669
Would it be possible to have Ryu Ninja use his Time Stop before applying the Violent Gale technique to the enemy black ops troopers?

>Violent Gale: Multiples of the Violent Wind Technique, Ryu slashes over and over with blinding speed.

>Violent Wind: While running Ryu quickly does a ninja dash and slashes his enemy at blinding speed.
>>
>>20157669
Have Gondegal and Ryu jump in with priority of protecting the non-evil guy. Then have Ryu get hidden.
>>

>Welp.

Ryu becomes a blur of motion to your cameras, a storm of steel and skill that cuts apart the remaining two mutants. The Dragon Sword's powerful enchantment allows it to slice through the thick carapace cleanly, the weapon seeming to react as it passes through. A high pitched tone and a pulsating flash burst from the weapon each time it contacts corrupted flesh, a disorienting display of light and sound causing the Black Ops to flinch. When their mutual foes fall dead, two of the Black Ops raise their guns towards Ryu, but the ninja is too fast. The Dragon Sword lashes out again, cutting the barrels off of two of the weapons while a third soldier suddenly shakes and gets off a garbled shout as Gondegal possesses him.

Ryu says nothing, but shakes his head and points his sword at the Black Ops. Something in them breaks, and they drop their weapons, one by one.
>>
>>20158468
"Thank you, Ryu, Gondegal.
"Now, Black Ops. Mind explaining why the FUCK you let a mutagenic infection go through your ranks and essentially compromise this station's command decks for BOTH our sides?"

Have Gondegal take out his ethereal tricorder and begin scanning the mutants and sending the info back to the Indefatigable and the Storm so that our scientists can analyze it.
Also scan the Black Ops to make sure they're not infected.
>>
>>20158510
Gondegal cannot make use of his ghostly items or powers other than possession while possessing. Do you want him to release the trooper he is possessing?

"Drastic steps were taken when you-" one of the soldiers begins to say, but another next to him elbows him in the gut, a look of fury on his face.

"Say NOTHING!"
>>
>>20158547

No matter.

Get our normal troops in there to mop up what remains of the mutated troops.

Secure the area and get those Black Ops Troops into seperate holding cells after scanning them for any hidden items and removing their equipment.
>>
>>20158547
"You want to say nothing? Fine. We'll take this up at a court martial, then. And you had better pray to all that you hold dear that you didn't just get fucking burned by a psychotic power-crazed commander, because you know what happens to black assets that screw up."

Have Gondegal stay in possession.

Have Star-Lord coordinate a distraction by the Securitrons (send 50 or so) to draw away Black Ops forces so that Ryu and Gondegal can escort the Black Ops troops back towards our lines, and have them met with the Security Team.
Full Quarantine procedures, and make sure that the Black Ops guys are locked down hard.
>>
>>20158547

Are you seriously trying to keep secrecy amongst yourselves when all of your capital ship support is dead AND what appears to be some sort of demonic hell-alien infection is running rampant throughout your comrades' ranks, turning them into bloodthirsty berserkers who seem to have a taste for Black Ops and Task Force blood alike? Oh, and they're dispersed throughout all the reactor block for this station? And from the pitched battle you guys had, it seems that you don't exactly know too much about this mutation either. You guys might even be infected yourselves!

Dude, if we don't do something soon, this whole station is going to go to hell real quick. Either those mutants are going to take over everything and eat all of our faces, or those mutants are going to fuck everything to hell and *fingers* are going to start phasing in here and *pulling* all of us *silly cows* to the Star Control version of hell. If you want to get out of this alive, we need to cooperate here!
>>
OH FUCK. Remember the Infected SUE we brought back from when we fought Ebon Night? I bet black ops played with whatever it was infected with, and in doing so released the goddamn plague amongst themselves.
>>
>>20158547

Actually, can Gondegal attempt to access the possessed Black Ops trooper's memories? If they won't talk, maybe we can see through their eyes what's been going on here.
>>
>>20158619
Once the Black Ops are secure (making sure to scan them for anything they could use as a weapon or tool, make sure to have their hair checked for shiga-wire or other types of mono-molecular tools, sub-dermal toolkits and fake fingernails to hide weapons or escape tools), we can send in our other regular forces. Go slow, go methodical, have the Droid Vanguard keep up a solid wall of blaster fire and holographic cover (using the Portable Holo-Emitters).

Also, ask Ryu if he knows what might have caused his sword to react the way it did when it cut through those mutants.

One of the Black Ops looks around nervously, then blurts out, "They made us take it! It was supposed to make a select few of us stronger, faster, more-UGH!"

The trooper that struck the other before suddenly tackles the speaker to the ground, brutally punching him repeatedly in the face before punching him in the neck. A sort of mad fury gleams in his eyes.

Gondegal, use your possessed muscles to pull that guy off the speaker.

I think the evil-pinging guys are far too gone for us to help them. They're either consumed by madness or perhaps under some sort of compulsion. No amount of reasoning will get through to them, and they might only be a disaster waiting to happen.

We might have to kill them and see if we can heal up the cooperative Black-Ops guy or toss him a raise if that neck-punch didn't already do him in.

Ryu Ninja, kill him. He's obviously too far gone and if given a chance will kill the rest of them. Use Art of the Fire Wheel to incinerate the body if you have to.

Also, see if we can get the talker's body into a Nanny Bag or something. It'd be useful if we can revive him.

If we take them into different holding cells without showing that we'll kill them all, the other two will be more cooperative.

Ryu slices the man's hands off cleanly with the Dragon Sword, the sword emitting its strange cry and light as it contacts the man's flesh. Ryu immediately follows this up with Art of the Fire Wheel, expertly placed. The stumps are cauterized and the zealot passes out from shock.

Gondegal hastily finds a few pairs of restraints on his host's belts, apparently for when the Black Ops planned just to imprison everyone. The pair quickly begin to shuffle everyone out, Gondegal slinging the unconscious troop over his shoulder while Ryu carries the slain one.

The remaining Black Ops remain oddly quiet during all of this, their faces grim.

>>20159376
Tell Star-Lord to pull back and get some healing.

How close are Gondegal and Ryu to coming back to our secured sections?

Are they close enough that we can send in the Security and Assault Teams to cover their extraction?
>>
>>20159376
Is this on the edge of the dimensional stablizer?

If it's close enough, have our summoned Celestials start throwing summoned monsters at them.

And has Vitun had a chance to heal our Deva's leg yet?

Also, she needs a name. I'm thinking Aeshma.
>>
Star-Lord complies, falling back as Securitrons collapse behind him. The Black Ops have consolidated their forces from a large area and begin pursuit, a stray blaster bolt nailing Star-Lord in the leg, causing him to stumble and fall for a moment. The remaining Securitrons pull around him in a semi-circle formation, shielding him from further harm while delivering an endless barrage of lasers and missiles. Star-Lord manages to pull himself back up and continues to the extraction point as a series of explosions rock the hallway he is running down. Scraps of Securitrons pelt him as he finally reaches safety, shimmering away along with the few robots that managed to escort him.
((Lost 40 Securitrons.))

Vitun hasn't a had chance to heal the Deva yet. Aeshma sounds nice. Your Celestials have exhausted their summons in the boarding fights.

Ryu and Gondegal reach the edge of the interdict zone safely.

Wll we now know their rough locations.

Bring up the XCOM teams. Blaster bomb them.

Transport the black Ops personnel to holding areas and get them treated, disarmed and interrogated.
>>
>>20159466

Collect battle reports from our forces. What all does the black ops army seem to have at their disposal, besides traps, troopers, and mutants? What powers do the mutants seem to have?

Are the X-com psychics free? If so, get them within range and have Gondagall spot for them. Hopefully we can get a mind control chain reaction going. If the X-commies aren't available, try and get the aurors to use Imperio as a cheap substitute.
>>
>>20159466
Now that we know that they're all bunched up, have all X-COM troops launch Blaster Bombs, and have the waypoints travel to where the Black Ops forces were grouped together.

Have the Security Team (SCP Squad, MetPharm High-Sec Squad, 2x X-COM NOVA Rookie Squad, TG Soldier Squad) meet up with Gondegal and Ryu. Have them beam in 3 stasis pods and stuff the living Black Ops into them, and a nannybag to put the dead talker into. Get them back to the Storm and into Containment, with the talker going down to Medical and going into a regeneration tank.

Once the Blaster Bombs go off, have the Droid Vanguard and the Assault Team, supported by the Medical and Support Squads and the Holy Strike Team move into the Core to see what Black Ops troops remain.
>>
>>20159525
On second thought, don't send in troops immediately after the Blaster Bombs go off; have a Viper Droid go in to evaluate the damage first.
>>
>>20159489
>>20159525

I recommend trying psychics before blaster bombs. Some of Holtz's men might still be alive in those areas, not to mention sensitive and possibly dangerous equipment.
>>
>>20159466
Can Doc Lazarus repair Aeshma's leg using nanites? They'd be just as fast, and Vitun might need the spell slot for later.
>>

A thought about the mutated Black Ops guys:

While they're undoubtedly experimenting with some bad mojo, this whole scythe-arm thing seems a bit familiar to another game universe; the fact that it's ONLY the Black Ops' guys LEFT arm being mutated is a bit telling as well. It could be possible that these Black Ops guys have brought a little more than Vol Opt from the Phantasy Star canons. Pic related; the bottom of the monster spritesheet shows an enemy that might fit the description of the mutants.

If we're lucky, they're *only* given the Black Ops troopers something that will mutate them into horrible dark monster-abominations. If we're exceptionally unlucky, they may have given their troops small doses of an entity in that's capable of infesting mechanical equipment and creating huge armies of horrible organic horror-monsters by itself.
