Will the creativity ever end?! Yes, probably. But it hasn't yet.

http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Boris_the_Titan

http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Blue

http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Scraplootas

The Scraplootas are a clan of Orks who managed to steal a Titan from the forces of chaos. A Mekboy took a shine to the Titan and now refuses to leave it, believing that he IS the Titan. Boris the Titan also has a complete, functioning Gretchin bureaucracy working on its inside.

Later on, they were attacking a Tau colony and found a little blue Tau girl. Mistaking her for a blue Grot, she was embraced into the Ork society to help with mechanics. She quickly became an integral part of the clan.

More talk about the Grotacracy and how the innards of the Titan work.
Still need to flesh out Tinka.
Rockeata and Snekk got a little love.
There was also a bit of writefaggotry.
And circlejerking "Hey we're soooo creative!" which we should probably try to avoid.

Who are we missing? Weve got everyone covered short of rockeata

I think we said that Tinka has a lot of bits and junk, like a stick with rotating swords at the end, and a electric zappy gun possibly.
Also, he might have a mohawk, but that just might be Rockeata.

I have a question:

How do the Scraplootas transport boris?
>>

WIF A BIG GARBBIN KLAW FROM DA SHIP.
>>
>>20151642
Perhaps it's high time we fluff out their ship then?

>>20151663
Its a the space hulk from Retribution.

the scraplootas "reclaimed" it from bluddflag.
>>
>>20151642

That cannot end well.

How does he deal with the endless boredom of transport? It's not like he can distract himself with the general infighting on board the rok. Does he just take pot shots at the rest of the fleet trying to goad them into a fight? I mean a rok is a haphazard means of travel at best, can you imagine how much worse that gets when a titan is thrashing around while attached to it?
>>
Needz more dakka.
>>
>>20151677
Don't dizz Bluddflagg! Best ork portrayed so far imho in a WH40K computer game.
>>
>>20151663
To me, the best thing would be to have their ship being surprisingly tiny and unassuming, as it only needs to house the Orks. All the thousands of Grots live in Boris.
>>
>>20151703
Maybe its like 4 small ships that carry boris with grabbin klaws attached to the limbs.
>>
>>20151720
Either way, I think it should be small. As there are hardly any Orks left in the Stormlootas, and it forms a good contrast to Boris.
>>
>>20151720
And the flies through space in a spread eagle, come-at-me-bro posture.
>>
>>20151744
The ship doesn't need to be small.
Since they used to have alot more boyz before Boris.
>>
Whatever craft they use to transport Boris offworld, I know one thing.
They need to drop him, from orbit, on a ballistic trajectory, onto the target.

No, I haven't figured out how he's supposed to survive the landing. Maybe some warkopta rotors bolted onto him that autorotate as he falls through the atmosphere?
>>
>>20151720

Multiple ships with claws/cables attached to hardpoints on the mech's shoulders, hips, and feet. When transported this configuration leads to the titan suspended in a super man-esque pose.

Having never had the arrangement explained to him, Boris believes his mech can actually fly but has little control over his destination. Sometimes throws mid-air temper tantrums if the fleet passes by a fight he wants to join in on. This leads to a very bumpy flight for the ships attached to the limbs that are wildly flailing around with child-like angst.
>>
>>20151789
Clearly da orkiest option is to have rockets in his feet.
>>
>>20151808
I like the idea of him wanting to have fights with things he sees flying through space.

Maybe he tries to shoot at them anyway, just for fun.
>>
>>20151810
If his foot rockets have sufficient thrust to land safely, that also means he has sufficient thrust to fly.
And that's a bit TOO over the top.
>>
>>20151849
Who said they have enough thrust to fly?

Landing is VERY different to flying. All he needs to do that way is decelerate, and that can be done through koptas, parachutes and foot-rockets in tandem.

Remember, the grotocracy is exceedingly efficient at things like this.
>>
>>20151849

too over the top? Heresy!

still, this may be a great idea, with boris being able to fly through the atmosphere on his own power, and maybe ride their rok or shipwhile traveling through space.

or, if you do think rocket boots are to over the top (HERESY!), you could have a squad of extra large deffkopta's fly him around.
>>
So, how much of Boris is actually for the Orks, and how much for the Grots?

I'd say that the fort on the top is for the Orks, but the Grots part of it is all of the actual innards, the guts of the machine.
>>
>>20152013
Exept for the few areas labled 'Kommando HQ' on the map, sounds about right.
>>
>>20152109

I love that image of Fizzgutz. Are we going to keep the bit of fluff several threads back that he also banishes the unorky to a spinning servo between the bow and one of the limbs? There they serve out their sentence stuck in "Limbow".

He yells his speeches at them and argues with himself over what he's going to do the next time he's ready to fight, as well as helping Tinka direct general repairs and modifications to the Titan. He is still a mekboy, after all.
>>
What if Boris ride an ork rok like its a giant wartrakk or bike?
>>
>>20153224
I like the idea of him being airdropped in better. He's still a titan and titans don't move like mechas. They're too stiff to "ride" anything.

That might be a bit too absurd, even by ork standards.

>>
>>20154290
We could use a drawfag for some of our characters. I know one said he was going to do derknitt earlier. Though to be fair we do need to give him some physical attributes. All hes got right now is a belt with explosives/sharp fings and a cape/shawl.

We could go a bit more into the grotocracy(like whether they want to overthrow the bigger orkz or something. A goal for them) or the shops and casinos amidst the titan

Tinka still needs some love and so does rockeata and snekkit
>>
>>20154338
The ships? I thought we just had one huge hangar to transport boris about. Or was it multiple ships with claws?
>>
>>20154359
the grots don't plan on overthrowing the orks cause that'd mean any old new warboss could stroll in and krump um good, they have it really well off comparatively.

A thought occurs, elegan/tg/entlemen.

Where, in all the drawfaggotry of Boris done so far, is the Hellstorm cannon?

He's an Imperator yes? the Hellstorm cannon is the closest thing to 'enuff dakka' the Imperium OR chaos has ever fielded. there is NO WAY that removing it would make Boris more orky.
>>
>>20154359
The goal of the Grotocracy is to gain power and keep it within the Grotocracy. They're a slightly Orwellian bureaucracy that sprung up inside Boris. Overthrowing the orks would mean fending for themselves -OUTSIDE- of Boris as well as within. As it stands, they just have to keep Boris operational, stay hidden, and work together during fights so no one catches on to them. So long as they do that, the orks don't much care what goes on inside Boris. Their overall goal is the success of Boris, you could say, but their main deal is their whole secret bureaucracy and the infighting and constant uprisings and changing of the guard. Despite being exceptionally organized, the Grotocracy changes hands more often than former Soviet third world nation.
>>
>>20154626
Chaos Imperator, yes. And I figure they just added more dakka to the sides of the Hellstorm cannon rather than removing it.
>>

Da Blue Grot continued working up a storm throughout the ded-shooty alfa section of the arm. The Shootists had payed good teef for her work, and she wouldn't let Tinka down now. A sharp kick vaulted her back far enough to view her creation. What once been an intimidating relief of some 'umie git now showed Gork(or maybe Mork) lifting bullets toward the open feed for one of Boris's huge guns. Satisfied, she began fiddling with the medley of pulleys connecting her to the wire. "C'mon Mr. Squig, we're done here." she said, pulling the final lever and beginning a rapid descent. Suddenly realizing the horror of his situation, he he gave a violent start. The movement proved too much for his position. As Blue down the wires, the squig flies past her, followed by a scream. The squig tugged furiosly on the ignition as it fell. Below, the grot had dropped his slight protection and was preparing for a climb. He'd get up there and krump 'em good! Or he might have, had the hefty Mr. Squig and drone not bounced off of his head. The drone sputters, and Mr. Squig lets out a growl as the the rotors carry him through the air. Pulling on the brake, Blue jumped on to his platform and collected the few teef that had been knocked about. The poor grot was knocked silly by the I'mpact. He'd barely gotten out a word before she was over the edge again, cheekily calling back up. "Always keep yer eye on the squig, zog-fer-brains!"

The Emperor has forsaken us. Our world is doomed.

The greenskin hoard known as "The Scraplootas" had made designs upon our system. At first, I felt that our plantary defence forces would hold until at least a company of space marines could arrive and strike at the heart of the alien hoard.

But when they made planetfall upon the outermost world of our system, our plans had to change. Reports confirmed that the Orks had somehow taken control of an ancient Imperator titan for their own use. Without any massive war-engines in our own forces, help would be needed as soon as possible.

I informed the Lord Governor that we would need the full firepower of the Imperial Guard and titan support. As soon as my report was made, the call for help was placed. We welcomed the first loyal forces to hear our call.

We should of waited a bit longer.

Chaos, Aztecs, Eldar and Orks! Oh my!

At first we were ecstatic. An entire Guard regiment along with four titans! Emperor willing, we may even be able to keep them from entering our inner planets. However, when Commissar Marik read the reports on the incoming regiment, he did something that I thought no Commissar could do.

He wept. Not with joy, but sorrow.

Attempting to put that behind myself, I eagerly watched the live reports from the front lines at the system's 7th planet. I saw the guardsmen in their white coats take positions as the greenskin tide approached, preparing their weapons as their commanders issued orders. Finally, as the Orks had come close enough, the order to attack was given.

Not even the Emperor could prepare me for what I saw next.

Aw shit, the 1st Membranes.
>>
>>20155496

Upon first contact with the enemy, I swear upon The Throne that at least a dozen of the guardsmen violently exploded upon their own accord. Lasgun fire mixed with more witchfire then I ever though possible. Confusion and panic spread through both armies. I saw Orks burst into flame and melt into green pools. Upon being hit by "shoota" fire, one guardsman began to vomit lighting upon friend and foe.

And then one of the guardsmen began to grow and his flesh was torn apart as a demonic form took his place, and unleashed the hell of the Warp upon all living beings in it's unholy sight.

If that wasn't horrible enough, Emperor preserve me, it happened again. As I watched the horror unfold, I swear I saw a Commissar turn his pistol upon himself.

Part of me almost hopes that we will be destroyed in this war, otherwise for the rest of my life I will be haunted by the nightmares that are the 1st Membranes.

Oh.

>>

>>20156736
Im not entirely sure either. Ive got her under notable characters and her text is

""fanseer" Vaedrisa is a relatively high ranking eldar with a hidden passion for the scraploota's. She's able to not only assist the scraploota's in their plunder, under the guise of manipulating them in true eldar fashion, but in doing so provide protection for her bretheren. Its also in large part due to her lack of mugs, which Urtylug has an obsession with. She is obscenely jealous of a certain little blue grot and often changes her hairstyle to what she thinks Urtylug would like best, her current is twin-braids."

Im not entirely sure on her fluff but thats what i remember
>>
>>20156774
We either need a story about how she tried befriending blue in order to get closer to the boss or a little mention in her story somewhere.

I would do it but I suck ass at writing.

I was thinking about the stormboyz launching from the top of Boris when they go into battle since he has a launch pad on his back, so in battle once the grots are getting stuck in out of nowhere comes a bunch of stormboyz crashing down on top of grots or enemies from on this huge thing, it is also used when they fight anything approaching the same size as Boris as a boarding action.

"Wut. Da. Zog." This was just his luck.
It would be safe to say that Urtylug did not plan for this. He could barely believe his eyes. His mug dropped from his hand and would have hit the floor had Spiggot not been waiting for the possibility. The Warboss would be right sore if this one broke. It was his Taktikul Jeeneyus cup after all.
"Boris, you seein' dis too?"
"YES, WARBOSS."
"I knew our Kommandoz were zoggin' cunnin' gitz, but dis... It ain't Orky to 'ave gitz krumpin' demselves."
"WARBOSS, I DUN FINK ITZ OUR BOYZ DOIN' DAT. DA BUSHES AN' BOXES AN' BARRELS AIN'T FULLY SNEAKED IN YET." Sure enough, the various bits of camouflage sticking out in the sea of grots hadn't completely made their ways behind the front lines.
"So, dey be doin' dis to demselves?"
"YES, WARBOSS."

How do you get a proppa fight out of enemies that krump themselves? It was a sure fire way to stump an Ork. Don't use moral dilemmas or riddles or paradoxes. Be big and strong and tough, then when meeting on the battlefield, blow your own brains out without fear in your eyes. The grots were intimidated and the Orks around them were too puzzled to motivate them. Without making any noticeable dents in the Ork frontline, the 1st Membrane was turning the tide.

The Warboss lifted his hat to scratch at his head, "Dat ain't roight. Dere's nutt'n Orky about any uv dis." Weirdboyz sometimes 'eadboomed, but that wasn't their main strategy. Weirdboyz weren't that proppa Orky anyhow.
>>
>>20157699
I dunno.
It seemed pretty good but I didn't quite get the context of it.
>>
>>20157723
"Boris, give da call. We iz pullin' back." Urtylug watched one of the Imperial Guardsmen rupture and blossom into a daemon, which then turned around and started eating all of his surrounding allies.
"YOU SURE, WARBOSS?"
"Oi didn't stutta. We're leavin'. We nevah wanted ta loot from dese crazy gitz in the first place. Dey're too busy krumpin' demselves ta give us a proppa fight any'ow."
It was just his luck too. For all of his cunnin' and winnin' and taktikul jeeneyus, Urtylug was sure his luck was terrible. How else could he have ended up on another crazy git world?

There was a ragged cheer from the guardsmen as the waves of Orks lessened like a tide going out. They were too busy putting down their own far gone comrades to notice the four small space hulks lowering crane arms to haul the titan into the atmosphere.

Morale was low on the space hulks that day, and not even krumping grots left and right could improve it. Even Boris was quiet about being strung up like a roight git.
Urtylug swore his luck would change. He swore by Gork and Mork that this next world, this Tau world, he would fight and loot and krump on. His Scraplootas wouldn't leave the until they had sacked the world or looted it good, whichever came first.

Not too far away, on that Tau colony world, some blue git received her first spanner.

I don't mind fleshing the bosses out but I am drawing a blank for anything relating to them so I am not going to try and push it.

All I can think of is that the stormboyz are lead by a real nutter who thinks Boris is the avatar of gork and mork because of how dead killy he is. Boris is still rather oblivious to all this but he leads his boyz in lootin and krumpin in thanks to Boris and makes sure that he always if fightin either under Boris's mighty gaze or against anyone who thinks they can be big like Boris without gettin krumped

Gah, that pisses me off. Please point out any errors you find, either with 40K lore or spelling and grammar, so I can fix them.
>>20158891
Oh gosh. Maybe I should keep this up. Since it's an origins story of sorts, I tried to fit as many characters in as humanly possible. I was thinking of tackling Blue next
>I also did the first-person Boris writefaggotry, but now I'm just being a braggart and a whore
>>
have not read all this thread since i was off to sleep but did got to the four ship and loot titan in superman position and rock discution.

how about we use both. four small escorts lift the titan to the rok, were the titan walks the surface (has voidshields) and shoots at random things while in flight.
>>
>>20158933
Maybe the four ships combine when they are not carrying boris?
>>
>>20159009
>>20158704 here
I assumed their ship was literally nothing more than a giant Boris holding bay and the Kaptin's Kwarters. Maybe later after they've done some looting, they assemble a "jetpack" for Boris to use? Though, most of their whole premise is their tendency to deep strike a fucking Imperator class Chaos Titan in the middle of a fight, so we don't want to give them too much orbital superiority. They strike quick, they strike 'ard, then they get the zog out of dodge.
>>
>>20158928
Speaking as a braggart and a whore myself (wrote the first three things posted on Pastebin, and two other Orky shorts)
You're giving me a right run for my money, if you haven't already taken all of it.

Can we briefly flesh out Blue's origins before we continue? I was hoping to write her time with the Tau before the Scraplootas came about as a part of this Fanseer/Blue thing, but I'm beginning to think you should write Blue's origins.
>>
>>20159093
I can't do it tonight, but sure. I already have a rough idea of how her "adoption" by Tinka and subsequent induction into the tribe would go, but I wasn't going to touch her pre-Scraploota life much if at all. I also tried to keep things intentionally vague that we aren't fully sure about, like the fanseer.

I DO have a Fanseer epilogue short to that last story in mind if you want me to write something else tonight. It was just getting so late I wanted to hurry up and finish the main story.
>>
>>20159136
Please do, it'll help cement the character of the Fanseer.

Oh, and before I continue, are we okay with Blue growing up as the only Earth caste in the middle of a Fire Caste orphanage? It would explain her ability to krump grots with a spanner from an early age.
>>
>>20159176
Will do.

And that sounds fine. If not that, she has to be an outsider used to defending herself for some reason or another.
>>
Piecing together a quick timeline from some of the stories we have.

Kaptain Waarakton killed by Dark Eldar ---> Urtylug becomes the new Kaptain ---> Scraplootas loot Vae Victus (thus becoming Boris) ---> The infamous sneak attack on the Dark Eldar ---> Battle with the 1st Membranes ---> Blue
>>
Quick questions since I know zog all about eldar: a warlock makes a good second in command, right? It's not like I'm saying that the eldar equivalent of a grot is talking down the farseer, right?
>>20159203
I think the Membranes thing was just a joke, but aside from that, yeah.
>>
>>20159221
I think the membranes as a whole were just a joke.
>>
>>20159221
Warlocks are lower level psykers and commanders so it is more like a nob talking back to a boss only without the inevitable krumping that happens when orks do that.
>>
>>20159203
Isn't it meant to be Waaaghshingtun?
>>
>>20159221
I suppose so. Could still be one of the minor events that occur though. In between there and the big sneak attack would be the formation and development of the Grotocracy, and Fizzgutz finding Da Buk. If I were a better writer, I'd have to give a shot at that little story.
>>
>>20159593
I just used the spelling from the story here.
>>20158704
>>
>>20159507
Okay, good, because I went ahead and wrote it.
>>20159593
I changed the spelling. Waarakton is a more orkified WAAGHshingtun, but he's still the same character.

FARSEER EPILOGUE TO http://pastebin.com/NNPcZsVJ INCOMING
>>
------------------------------

“Zoggin roight it’z free. A Scraploota pays fer nuffin, ya hear!”

And with that, the Farseer’s viewscreen went blank, communications cut. Farseer Vaedrisa took of her helmet and shook her head, rubbing her neck. Had it not been for her helmet, the thin smile she now wore would have been broadcast as a beaming, toothy grin during her entire conversation with the Orkish Warboss. And no one must be allowed to see that, not even her own craftworld.
“I don’t see how you can suffer those filthy brutes.“ her Warlock attendant quipped.
“Come now, Zielt, we must treat our greenskin allies with respect. Otherwise, they might not be so willing to be so easily manipulated.”
“Filthy brutes” he repeated stubbornly
“You give them too little credit, Zielt. You expected them to die back on their raid, did you not?”
“When have you ever heard of an ork running from a fight?!” Zielt sputtered in protest “They’re dumb filthy savages that blindly rush at any target until either they or it dies. They were supposed to commandeer the titan and crash it against the tide of humans, destroying that warp tainted behemoth and eliminating all of foes in one fell swoop.”
“But they did not.” Vaedrisa calmly reminded him, remaining ever the professional.
“But they did not! And now we still have too few of numbers to effect any change in this sector!”
“And now, we have a titan.” The farseer corrected him calmly
“Surely our wise farseer isn’t so far gone to think herself an ork” Ziely retorted snidely
Vaedrisa took a deep breath and sighed.
>>
“Who owns the only titan in the sector, Zielt?”
“That ugly brute those idiotic orks follow”
“His name is Warboss Urtylug Dursnik and he leads the Scraplootas. Let knowledge be your strength, Zielt. Now tell me, from who does Urtylug get his information. Whose is the hand that guides these orks to their prey?”
“Y…yours, Farseer. But can we really trust that they won’t turn-”
“The Scraplootas have no reason to stop honoring our agreement.” Vaedrisa cut Zielt off before he could finish “We provide them with new spoils and they fight our battles for us. I trust them, and you should trust your Farseer”
“Y…yes, Farseer” Zielt relented, defeated
“Besides, this is reason to rejoice, wouldn’t you say?”
“And why is that, Farseer?” the tired warlock sighed, knowing she would not relent if he did not humor her.
“Did you not see what just happened? That was the first time Warboss Urtylug has ever taken it upon himself to hail us. He hailed me. Usually it we who pester the ork.”
“So what? Now we get the pleasure of seeing his disgusting face more? Please excuse me as I spring forth and resummon Slannesh in utter and unparalleled pleasure” Zielt snarked
“It means” Vaedrisa explained whilst forcefully pushing her glasses closer to her face, an edge of frustration and anger creeping into her voice “that the Scraplootas recognize the legitimacy of our trade pact and will continue to act as our puppets. Did they not just volunteer to assault the Dark Eldar on their own volition? We had been sitting on that data for quite some time, waiting for the opportune moment to dangle it in front of them like a hunk of bloodied meat and now they freely demand to do our work for us.”
>>
“This is…true. I apologize, Farseer.”
“Besides, do you know find a sort of twisted beauty to their ways? They are like a well oiled machine, built only for war.
“Farseer…” Zielt tried to interject, having had a variation of this very argument quite a number of times over the past centuries.
“And they are not without their intelligence, either! Surely they will never match the cunning mind of an eldar, but this, this ‘Titanloota’” she oozed, enjoying the way it rolled off of her tongue “he shows a certain cleverness most orks lack. I shall greatly look forward to following his exploits”
“Trust me, we all know” Zielt sighed once more, knowing she was hardly listening.
“Very well, I shall excuse myself to my private quarters” Vaedrisa stated curtly and marched off.
After the long march to her room, she peeled off her wraithbone armor and let her braided hair fall into a frizzy mess around herface as it always did when she didn’t restrain it. Tired from the day, she then flopped onto her bed with a sigh, beaming widely once again.
>>
>>20159692
Ah ok, just sounded weird since I hadn't seen anything past the joke that spawned him.
>>
“He hailed me” she said again, closing her eyes contentedly
“He hailed ME” she repeated yet again, rolling over and clinging tightly to a nearby body length pillow
“Titanloota…” she gushed once more. It was a powerful name, befitting a powerful.
“Titanloota…” she loved their species. There was a beauty to their brutal simplicity, and it was especially present in their names.
“Titanloota…” it was the name of a great champion with instantly recognized might and reputation whereas Vaedrisa could mean anything. She was greatly intrigued as to what would become of this ork.
“Titanloota…” she knew most of her craftworld knew about her…beliefs and she didn’t care. She even knew of their nickname for her. It didn’t matter to her. Despite her biases, she never once led them astray. Besides…
“Warboss Kaptin Urtylug Dursnik Titanloota hailed ME!” she squealed silently one last time before drifting off to sleep, satisfied.
That night, her dreams were plagued with visions of a green ocean raging violently amidst a hailstorm of silver and yellow. The one image from her dreams that troubled her most for a reason she couldn’t quite place, however, was that of a thundercloud, small, grumbling, and crackling with electricity, colored the most brilliant shade of blue…

I'm trying to be a little more subtle with everything. Waarakton is WAAAGHshington in everything but name. His tribe was even called the Minnitboyz, a play on the Minutemen that were the majority of Washington's "trained" revolutionary soldiers. I mean, I can change it back if you want, but one of my favorite things about the Scraplootas is how delicately they toe that line between actual plausible 40K scenario and too crazy to exist, even for 40K.

When Boris was boarded by Dark Mechanicum Skitarii during "Da Big Scrap-Up", these security Grots proved to be noticeably better at combat than their untrained brethren (Although that isn't saying much). This lead to the Council deciding to institute a Titanopolis Militia of sorts, to make the endless waves of Grots more effective in combat and improve their chances of survival. They have also expanded the pre-existing Security force and providing them with better equipment and minimal training in fighting in organized squads instead of chaotic mobs and in basic operation of their weapons, forming the Titanopolis Guard: The "Elite" arm of the Grot fighting force.

Yes I realize that but my only reasoning is that when the name was suggested everyone liked it so before we change it we should get more of a consensus.

>>
The city of Vladstock was burning.

Thousands of screaming Imperial Citizens swarmed the streets, climbing over wrecked vehicles and their own dead in a desperate attempt to flee the ravening hordes behind them, but the warriors of Chaos are not so easily evaded.

The PDF were well equipped and very well trained by Imperial standards. Among their officers and commander was many an Imperial Guard Veteran, and the Governor himself a former General who had commanded his men under the skies of a dozen worlds in the Emperors name. In every mountain pass, in every plain, from city to city the Karhold Planetary Defense Force bled the Chaos armies for every foot of ground, but it would not be enough. For not even the most disciplined, loyal, and fierce soldiers could stand against the legions of Traitor Guard, Chaos Mutants, and corrupted Astartes arrayed before them.

There were simply too many.

I...dawww shucks, now I feel all gooey inside. Especially since this is the only one of my stories I've ever been inspired enough to write from beginning to finish, much less post somewhere it could be read.
>>
Planetary Governor Alexander Rikeman considered this fact in the depths of the command bunker he had ordered built beneath the Governors Palace when he first assumed the worlds throne. The screaming horde of Heretics was tearing up through the center of the main continent, with lesser elements tying up forces elsewhere on the planets surface, preventing them from behind re-deployed to reinforce the primary defensive line.

He could not have prepared better, he knew that much. He had built up infrastructure and military in equal measure, funding new reactors and factories as well as great walls around his cities and fortified bunkers to relocate his PDF bases to. In his time in thee Guard he had learned just how vital such preparation could be in determining whether a planet stood or fell.

His would fall purely out of ill luck.

There would be no escape, no reinforcements. A great howling Warp Storm cut them off securely from the outside, he wasn't even sure if his distress call had gotten through. The people of his world were trapped with the invaders for the duration, and that was looking to be a very long time.

The situation appeared to be utterly hopeless when the small Space Hulk entered the system.

"Sir, the ship is hailing us. They appear to be Orks."

Alexander buried his face in his hands "Excellent. That's EXACTLY what we need now."

"Well sir, it's a fairly small ship. There can't be THAT many of them on-board. They might even attack the Chaos forces instead of us."

Alexander sat up suddenly, memories of a particularly brutal campaign against the Tyranids flooding back to him. Maybe, just maybe... If they made the Chaos advance falter, if they bought just a little more time, it might be the difference between victory and death for Karhold.

"Put them on, I have an idea."

An aide pressed a button and the holo-projector before him fizzled to life, displaying a massive Ork dressed in tattered patches of armor, presumably from defeated foes, and draped with dozens of coffee mugs and the remains of a Tau Ethereals formal robes. He didn't look quite like the other Warbosses Alexander had encountered in his career, but he figured that there were likely to be exceptions to any rule in such a big galaxy.

"Good afternoon, Warboss. What brings you to this system?"

"Dats Warboss Urtylug Titanloota Dursnik to you, ya' Umie' git. An' don't you ferget it."
>>
Titanloota? As in a looted Titan? Could he still have it in his possession? Alexander disliked seeing such a mighty War Machine in the hands of Xenos as much as any loyal Imperial, but even a small Titan would be of immense help. "My apologies, Warboss Titanloota."

"Dats better. Now, we was goin wiv' Gromkills Waaagh! to fight dem Tau gitz, but we came out ere'. Dem Blood Axez gitz keep sayin' dat a good Freebota' mob can work for Umiez an' still be Orky, an' I'm willin' to give it a go. You got any gitz need krumped good?"

Amazing, just amazing. A Freebooter Warband with at least some Blood Axes branching out into working for Humans for the first time, and possibly in possession of a looted Titan or Gargent, appearing here when he most needed it was nothing short of miraculous.

Then again, there had been several miracles on that Tyranid campaign to, and the hand behind them turned out to be far from the providence of the Emperor, he gritted his teeth as he recalled several ghost-readings of ships at the furthest edges of the system just before the Warp Storm sealed them away from the rest of the galaxy. Well, if this was the path those meddling, arrogant bastards deigned to present to him, he would damn well take it, but he would also keep the handful of Shadowsword tanks that the PDF had acquired from a Rogue Trader close behind any Engine they fielded, call it fire support.

He put on his best diplomatic smile, which was probably sufficient to appear diplomatic to an Ork if not a real diplomat: "Warboss Urtylug Titanloota Dursnik, you have come at an extremely opportune time for 'Krumping Gits', as you put it..."

...And that's my contribution for tonight.

Something I'm worried about is the Scraplootas becoming too dependent on the Eldar. We should probably have a battle or two without their involvement (Aside from Fanseer watching of course). I'm planning on making Da Scrap-up one of them.

Also, for anyone interested, I will still be running Planetary Governor Quest soon. Possibly tomorrow, but I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that I'll be able to start running it regularly again in a little over a week, and that I feel a lot less guilty about it now that there aren't nearly as many Quest Threads on the front page.

I figured they fought the Tau of their own volition, as the Eldar really have no reason to hate the Tau enough to sic orks on them and at the same time they don't care enough about the tau to try and redirect the Scraplootas, not that it'd do much good.

Basically, the summation of the relationship between Vaedrisa and Urtylug is Vaedrisa goes "Hey big boy, I found you some gits to krump and some loot to nick~" and Urtylug is all like "It'z mine! Now bugger off ya weird little git!" and then Boris busts in and is all "I'Z GONNA WREK IT"
>>
>>20160440
Yeah the eldar turn up and give them places to loot when they are muckin about and the panzees need someone krumped but otherwise the scraplootas just go from planet to planet foightin, lootin an winnin
>>
>>20160440

maybe the scraplootas get into a fight with boris over where to get the best loot?

boris wants to go after one thing, while the warboss wants to go after something else?
>>
>>20156774
DId we ever work out the name of the Head Councillor of the grots?
>>
>>20160550
Nah Boris follows the boss. Otherwise Urtylug would tear him out of the cockpit and krump him
>>
>>20160566
Woops, that wasn't meant to be a reply.
>>
>>20160566
I don't think so,
He is just the head chairman, much like the representatives of the various parties are named for their position which I suppose is fair enough since a name isn't that important but their position is
>>
>>20160550
Boris cares for nothing more than crushing whatever the boss tells him to, since in his mind it was thanks only to the boss that Boris was able to "find himself". He's easily Urtylug's most loyal nob, second only to Zizzbitz. It also helps secure Urtylug's place as leader, seeing as the only ork big enough to replace him holds him in a near sacred regard.
>>
>>20160566
I thought, due to the constant uprisings and coups that go on, the 'Ead Kounsellor changes on a near daily basis.
>>
>>20160582
And he steps on any boyz he hears saying they want to take over since he won't follow anyone but Urtylug
>>
>>20160587
Not that Urtylug has many boys big enough, seeing as he mainly only fields and collects smaller, sneakier gits. Boris' loyalty comes into play more often when dealing with other tribes. A WAAAGH that hires the Scraplootas might try to steal Boris in the middle of the night, only for him to wake up and start crushing them, shouting BOSS! DEY'S TRYIN TA NICK ME AGIN! and that's when the fun really starts.

>>20160604
The grotocracy also comes into play there.
They know if Boris gets nicked they will lose everything to whatever boyz take over, they station a bunch of lookouts and grots on defense cannons with a system where if they get attacked they pass the message along until a grot who is on duty in Boris's cockpit ( they get in and out through vents etc ) wakes him up by whatever means necessary which may end up with them kicking him in the head and running away
>>
>>20160586
Yeah, I prefer this idea.

The political system, though streamlined, is still run by grots. And still absolutely requiring of cunning to get to the top, and wits to stay there.

"What's dat? You want to know da longest a single Grot has stayed in da 'ead office? I think I have the documents around 'ere someplace"

The Radio-Journalist from 102.5 Boris FM, Korckuk, followed the Grotocrat down the corridors of library. He'd not been a journalist long, and he felt that this could well be his big break, that he had stumbled onto a story that would get him promoted right up to the top.

As far as the Grots in Boris were concerned, there had always been a Head Councillor. And there had, that was true. But the story that had been held from the populace was that the Head Councillor changed, and changed often. Such a thing had never been considered before, but as Korckuk trudged slowly by the seemingly endless set of books and records, he realised that his little theory may indeed hold water.

"And 'ere we are, the book of the 'ead councillor." The wise looking grot passed the book to Korckuk.
"Thank you, you've no idea how important dis book is to me."

He opened the book. Looking at its first page, he saw what he thought was the census, names, names, names, names, stretching long into the past. The names each had a little date alongside them, and it was this date that was important. Korckuk had got his big break. And he was about to break the entire conspiracy wide open.

I think it was described as a round room with a U shaped table where the left and right arms were opposite each other and the ead chairman sits at the head of the table.

Thats as far as I remember from the writefagin we had.
>>
What sort of things would be in an entertainment sector for Grots?
>>
>>20161346
Gambling, squig races, squig arena, snotling arena, flashy dakka

And the usual orky sorts of entertainment
>>
I think squig should be an independent character from Blue.
While he is still her pet and protector ( for some mork knows reason since the little bastard bites everyone else including the boss ) He takes off occasionally when he gets bored or smells something interesting to bite, but he never goes that far away that he can't get back to blue when she needs him.

Sometimes he even goes and steals loot from the boys, grots or meks and brings it to her to build into whatever she is making at the time.

He even tries to chew on Boris with no real success

Pole dancers.
>>
>>20161449
Grot pole dancers.

Oh drawfags, wherefore art thou?
>>
>>20161455
Exactly what I thought.

I mean c'mon - if they can get groomed wigs and toupees and suits, why the hell there can't be pole dancers?

AN' I DUN CARE IF ORK DUN WURK DAT WAY
>>
>>20161461
Scraplootas work dat way
>>
>>20161443
Basically like a Dog-Squig.

I like it.
>>
>>20161529
Well I figured half dog squig and half weird squig in that he is smarter than average.

She found him when she first went into Boris or something
>>
>>20161461
Actually the 'pole' dancer is actually dancing to evade pistons and gouts of steam, in an artful fashion. Or maybe these could actually be competitions, in which the grots gamble on who got piston'd last? So it's kinda like a musical chairs kinda thing.

But they also are rated on how well they dance, they still go until one or the other gets squished and a lot of betting goes on for matches between the better dancers

That idea is great.
>>
>>20161749
Style, execution (both of stunts and of other contestants), and survival rating all go into their metascore. And why do grots risk their lives going through this crazy obstacle course of death? Endorsements, of course! It's the quickest way to work your way to the top, as the champion of Da Dedly Piston Dance of Deff(working title) is an instant celebrity and often becomes fast associates with the current Ead Kounsellor as a way to boost his status as a "grot of the people".

how many things has /tg/ created now?
>>
>>20161919
too many

the scraplootas have been the best so far though
>>
>>20161958
That may be thinking too highly of ourselves.
The best thing in recent memory, yeah, but surely not /the/ best thing to /ever/ come out of the board.
>>
>>20162030
no, I mean of the recent creations.
>>
>>20161919
A few billion space marine chapters, a couple of IG regiments, some chaos warbands and two other ork klans than didn't really go anywhere.

And enough butthurt to overpower the sun
>>
>>20162070
It's a shame most of them are completely incoherent in the fluff.

Scraplootas don't seem to be, though.
>>
>>20162161
Well most of the others were just rule of cool ideas thrown in left, right and centre.

The scraplootas came from a decent enough idea backed up by the klan creation tables and then a lot of work on setting the theme and fleshing out the characters
>>
>>20162161
scraplootas arent fluff correct at all
>>
>>20162204
He means in that our fluff is rather together and not a massive pile of disjointed references like just about everything else that tg has made.
>>
>>20162250
Actually, I'd meant that the Scraplootas are not unworkable with the 40k universe, and are much more realistic than angry marines etc.
>>
Are we actually going to decide on what ships they have? I've seen them relying on employers, having 4 ships, using lots of roks, space hulks, etc. 40K space ships are really big, and a few hundred orks with tens of thousands of grotz is actually small by most standards even with a big titan, so I'd suggest just giving them a Kill Krooza or similar large (though not space hulk sized) ork ship. Possibly made for transporting and speed rather than fighting.
>>
>>20162287
The writefag set them up in a ship that's just barely big enough to hold Boris. I don't know my 40K spaceships enough to tell you what that is. The Scraplootas are an ambush group, though, so a single small but highly mobile ship would fit them best.
>>
>>20162309
This guy's right. The ship from their Freeboota days was hollowed out to make room for Boris and what's left is pretty much either a cargo hold or crew barracks.

Seeing as how the thing's basically a cargo ship now, it'd make sense for their "employers" to provide escort since they really can't fend for themselves in deep space.
>>
>>20162335
It helps that whatever sector they're in seems all sorts of fucked, with at least Orks, Tau, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Space Marines, and Chaos Space Marines all appearing in some fashion or another, so I can see the Scraplootas taking advantage of all this havoc to loot more shit than a Blood Raven. The only way this sector could get any worse is if Necrons riding Tyranids showed up or something.
>>
>>20162335
Yeah, they aren't defenseless but against any decently sized enemy fleet the scraplootas are screwed.

The krooza has basically Boris storage, engines and a helm.
The kaptinn's quarters I am a bit unclear on whether they stayed as is, were moved to Boris or were copied in Boris.

The krooza is supposedly defendalorded enough and probably more so if Boris poked his arms out the airlocks to shoot at whatever gitz are trying to blow it up but not to the degree of a regular freeboota krooza according to the story that we got

No we just hate your time zone.
So since we have a few people about with the story for Urtylug's past the writer changed WAAAGHSHINGTUN to Waakaraton

Do we want to take this change or are we keeping it as the original name? There was some discussion between the writer and an anon with their reasoning here

>>20159203
And it was decided to be left until we could get more of a consensus.

I made the original WAAAGHSHINGTUN joke and honestly I don't mind either way but I figured I should bring it up since it changes the current fluff.

>>
>>20163470
Talking of threegrot what's the explanation for the name? The wiki says 3grot calls themselves it, though I'm not sure why. Trying reverse psychology? "If we, I mean I, woz three grots pretending to be an ork we'd not call ourselvez three grot would we? Dat wouldn't be snekky at all."
>>
>>20163550
>When asked why he calls himself Threegrot, he tends to reply "Cuz' I'm as powerful as three Grots. Now piss off".

>>
Man reading the blood jaguars thread they have gotten pretty retarded in how badly things are stacked against their chapter.
With everything they are coming up with it seems like they are trying to have them wiped out or turned into sues for their ability to survive all the crap they get.

>>
>>20163667
>The creativity isn't bad but they are being run into the ground at record speed.

I think that's as much a problem with Spess Mehreens in general. Orks avoid it a bit.
>>
>>20163615
>Tripfag Circle Jerk
>Only one tripfag
How does that work?
>>
>>20163682
It doesn't help that SMs are stricter than Orks. We can get away with almost anything we want, so long as we find a thin justification, like Chaos fuckery + Squigs = WAAAsquigs that help nullify said Chaos fuckery.
>>
>>20163645
To be fair, it's pretty damn easy to write shit for orks. It's really less limited than other 40k races and any parody, any bullshit and any joke flies if people find it funny.
It's like the power of the WAAAGH counts for the writers as well.
You can just go for everything, really. Nothing is too absurd.
Also we have drawfags to back all the awesome ideas up and draw in new people.
>>
>>20163691
Like this:

>Tripfag makes post
>Removes trip, and replies to post
>Puts trip back on, replies to previous post
>Does this until thread reluctantly starts off
>After this, any ideas from other people get suspiciously ignored, and anything the tripfag says is treated like a brilliant idea

Call me cynical if you like, but I've seen it happen.
>>
>>20163724
Yeah. We've only got one (Admittedly fucking awesome) drawfag at the moment. And he's pretty intermittent. We're working with what we can get right now, and any help would be appreciated.
>>
>>20163707
That's not really true
Do you worship the emprah?
Do you hate chaos?
Do you kill anyone who disagrees?
If you answer yes to these congratulations you can be a space marine chapter.

Orks just get away with more because they have had less serious writing forever.
>>
>>20163739

>>20163756
Since they've always been the least grimdark thing in 40k, it's sort of accepted for them to be jokey, which is I think why I prefer the Orks over all the other races in 40k.
>>
>>20163756
It's like you said, tone is important too. If the SMs decided to deep strike with a titan, it'd have to be played straight as a crazy but brilliant maneuver that a bunch of bloodthirsty zealots thought up in their xenohobic rageboner rather than just WAHOOOOOOO! NOW GET EM, BORIS! DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA!

Quick question before I continue writing from last night.

What is the extent of a farseer's psychic abilities? Are they simply future/past seeing? Can they also read minds/memories? Can they see a certain person's past or a certain person's future?
Or are they stuck being subtle/mind rapey?
>>
>>20164255
All of the above I think.
>>
So for Boris. We already have a rough idea how he looks, but what about his color scheme? So far all I know is he has a bright yellow jaw and a paler yellow head, but we'll have to be careful with how much bright yellow we give him, lest he look like an Angry Rine titan.

But he absolutely needs purple feet. Why? 'So'z dey kint see 'im when wez drop 'im on deir 'eads from da sky ya git!"
>>
>>20164255
They can be varied but they generally read the future using psychic focuses, rune stones are the popular choice.
They can also do the whole range of "fuck you with my mind" skills starting at illusions and ending at storm of concentrated psychic power
>>
>>20164255
No fucking clue. I know next to nothing about Farseers or Eldar in general, which is why I left her psychic abilities vague with metaphoric dreams like Boris being steel hail and literal waves of grots splashing about being the extent of it.

>>20164323
