Y'know I was trying to be nice to people who don't like quests by making them easy to identify and stuff. But if you're going to actually make it impossible for me to play my game that way, then fine, I will stop doing that.

Copy/pasting introductory stuff here.

You are Smith Sterling, the Iron Master! Your robotic minions have caused a number of crimes around the city, and you have recruited Julio Pedone, a man who once worked for the Family before being assigned to the Morelli Outfit, where the Family puts all their losers, whereupon Julio jumped ship to you. You have Rica Rivera, a Goblin Ganger partially responsible for starting a turf war between the Avalon Goblins and the Morelli Outfit, under surveillance. Several of her friends in the Avalon Goblins are planning to turn her over to the Morelli Outfit to try and pacify them (your robotic minions, disguised as Morelli Outfit thugs, killed a bunch of Goblin Gangers, thus weakening them and intensifying the turf war, which has demoralized them to the point of being willing to give up).
>>
Your Muerte-bot, a robot minion disguised as Santa Muerte, a figure of some reverence to the Santos Espada gang over in Eastside, has apparently succeeded in convincing the gang leaders that it is an emissary of the divine and not a robot in a robe with a Halloween mask bolted to its face.

Your ghostly spies bring word that something big is up at EdenTech, a company you've had your eye on for some time. They're running some kind of urban warfare contract, and recently your ghosts have gleaned that it's apparently going to be tested in the city...Bizarre, considering how many voters there are packed in here.

Meanwhile, your actions in Eastside have drawn the attention of super hero Amp, who can fire sonic blasts, and Kestrel, his sidekick, who has a bionic suit that grants her enhanced speed and flight. They're trying to track down the emissary of Santa Muerte, as they suspect that it is a super villainous plot (surely brown people can't have the favor of God over 'Murica!).

Two threads not archived included you doing a few things, mostly with regards to the Muerte-bot and the Santos Espada and the Avalon Goblins/Rica Rivera. They were not archived because they died too quickly to be worth bothering (as mentioned, this quest has been having problems staying afloat).

Aha, here it is. Let's be a supervillain, gentlemen. Something i'd advise you stache is introducing a ressources and/or money rating. It helps telling us when we can engage in giant doomschemes and when we need to rob banks. Id do it like some civ games do, doing a vague rating scarce-plentifull
>>
As a suggestion for players who feel lost, first off, rest assured, I have rejiggered the quest to get the plot started ASAP since I was clearly waiting too long earlier. Secondly, for now you should know that it's possible to translate resources into XP, and XP can get you more powers. So check out the powers list in the pastebin, figure out what awesome shit you'd like to do, and rob banks until you have the resources to do it.
>>
>>20194368

Check the Iron Master's sheet.
>>
>>20194368
fuck, me i cannot even read character stats. disregard.
>>
to do list:
-gather resources
-deal with superheroes
-find up what's going on with EdenTech
>>
Ok, what do we know about amp and kestrel? can we get some info bots on their tails? I want a comprehensive list of powers, renown, if possible identities. Tail the ones that tail our organisation.
>>
>>20194403
Oh, and sick a ghost on them. They dont seem to have powers concerning the spiritual, it should be easy to track down their secret identities. Just have the ghost follow them.
>>
regarding the superheroes:
upgrade the muertebot, include protection from sonic attacks if possible.
So, either upgrade it or build a new one and replace that one.

Then, we can use this as a show of power - beat the superheroes to prove our power to the gang we are taking control of.
2 ways we can do this: either the muertebot takes them down itself OR it claims that SantaMuerte has many servants and then our standard issue bots come out and beat up the heroes while the bot stays back looking awesome and saying just as planned.
When the santos ask, the muertebot tells them that there are others serving it and they will assist the gang.

I option 1 gives us better benefits, but banking it all on a single robot is too risky, so I would rahter we go with option 2.
>>
To do:
Recruite Rica
Gain control of the island by subverting the local gangs
Successfully subvert a superhero (it never works in the comics b/c justice! So lets do it here)
Gain villanous sidekick one way or another (related)
World domination

Amp has been in the heroing business for about a decade, but he's smalltime and local. People outside of LA haven't even heard of him. Like most heroes, he got his start as a sidekick, in his case to the electric hero Taser, who has since moved down to San Diego. He's somewhere in his late twenties, white, brown hair, a couple of other defining features which help narrow things down a little bit. It's come out that unlike Taser, Amp's sonic blasts are the result of gadgetry, which implies he has access to at least some kind of funding. Still, it's mostly just the one gadget, so he doesn't necessarily need to be Bruce Wayne.

Kestrel is either high school age or a really young looking college student. She looks about fifteen. She's got a suit of what's basically power armor even if it isn't fully enclosed or bristling with weapons, so she's definitely got some kind of wealthy backer. There's plenty of wealthy corporations in LA, so Amp could've put her in touch with one of them, but that means he would've have to have decided to take her on as his sidekick before she had any powers, so they probably would've met via secret identity in that case. It's also possible that Kestrel has personal connections to a corporation of some kind on her own, or that she's a supergenius who built the thing herself.
>>
>>20194452
I think this plan is far too. Get a ghost to follow them, find out their secret identities, work from there. Family, hideouts, jobs, equipment in case of Kestrel. If i know one thing from /co/ its that you really have a hero by the balls if you have his identity.
>>
>>20194424
Revealing their secret identities to other supervillains; even if competitors, would stop most wannabe superheroes, especially if they got a family to care about. Or they could go full Punisher, which still benefits us due to the massive influx of souls and lack of competitors. Be sure, however, that this reveal cannot be traced back to you.

Rendezvousing with superheroes, threatening to reveal their identities is risky and inadvisable; if they were so easily deterred then they would not be a threat. Just saiyan.
>>
>>20194491
I think we shouldnt rendezvous with anyone. Our powers are perfect for staying behind and playing the manipulation game. Find their identities using da ghost, maybe pimp muertebot just in case and we should be able to either threaten them via a member of the Family we control (oh look, the great St. Muerte has revealed to us the names of your family! It would be a shame if something happened to them...) or via anonymous letters.
>>
>>20194491
Send them a letter saying "Hello, I know you are superhero X. Now either stop with the superheroing or everyone will find out your true identity."

"Love, someone who dislikes you."

If that's not enough, there's always "I know where your mother lives and I know how to up an accident."
>>
So, actions:
Send a ghost over to track the superheroes
Get more info on that gang leader girl I can't remember a thing about, we may want to recruit her.
Get some combat droids custom made to be resilient to sonic attacks over to someplace near the muertebot.
>>
>>20194566
That sounds like a good list of actions.
>>
>>20194531
Or my personal favorite:
Hero does dramatic entrance
You summon their dead mother in law
Inform hero that she will only go away when you will it.
Victory.jpg
>>
>>20194578
....
yes
>>
>>20194578
Yepp, that sounds nefarious enough for us.
>>
>>20194531
Simple death threats, specially if mass mailed from different sources, could lead to paranoia. They could become unfocused, careless. Or they could be more determined to fight. If we acted on those threats; they would go full Punisher, never backing down.

However, if we blackmail them, they could just move their family to somewhere place, under aliases and forged identities. Revealing their identity to other villains; particularly vicious ones, would be better in the short-run. Depending on how hated they are, there could be many attacks on short succession. Kinda like an Arc event or something.

For extra points; try to sell the secret on Ebay.
>>
>>20194424

The problem with your ghosts is that they're easily distracted flakes, because they are going along with your plans out of nothing but boredom, plus they tend to pass on within a few days anyway, since working for you puts them into communication with other ghosts via your Ecto-Reader, which causes them to talk out and make peace with whatever random shit was bugging them in life (usually nothing too huge in the first place), and then they pass on. You're not sure what, scientifically speaking, actually happens when they pass on, but whatever.

Fortunately, both Kestrel and Amp are fairly easy to track, so by flinging every one of Los Angeles' ~150 deaths per day at them over the course of a few days, you eventually find a volunteer with the attention span to get the job done.

Amp is secretly Kurt Dobek, a high school history teacher. He lives alone as a bachelor, but has a circle of local friends amongst the teaching staff, mostly, and uses facebook/skype to keep up with his family, who mostly live out somewhere in Ohio, though he has one sister who lives up in Sacramento. The two of them visit one another once every couple of months, since they're relatively close to one another.
>>
>>20194619
Yeah, we might want to find out if Amp and Kestrel have a Nemesis we could sick on them... That would suitably distract them for sure.
>>
>>20194634cont

Kestrel's house and private school are both under anti-ghost tech defenses of the same basic variety as what's keeping you out of EdenTech's secret labs. You guess these aren't nearly as fancy as the EdenTech stuff, but as far as your ghost is concerned it hurts like Hell and he is not trying a dozen different ways of ramming through a pain field just because there's nothing for ghosts to do on the weekends. Besides, last night he realized he can still watch movies and never needs to pay any admission fees.

What he does glean about Kestrel is enough, however. You know that she attends the Ander West Preperatory School, a private school that is a bit out of the way for her but which is funded by EdenTech, and that the VP of R&D in EdenTech lives in her same neighborhood. It takes a bit of digging to find out his personal details, but he has a daughter sixteen years old, and her appearance matches that of Kestrel (as far as you can tell, masks and what-not) pretty well. Her name is Sofia Span.

So. There's that.
>>
>>20194642

A teacher... hehe... hehehe... Muahahahaha!!!! This might be easier than we thought...

Guys, threatening the school, what do you think? Still, i'd try to go mainly with the sell secret to their nemesis plan.
>>
So, amp is a teacher and Kestrel is the daughter of a guy with corporate R&D connections.

So, anonymour letter to Amp where we threaten to expose his secret identity if he does not give up superheroing permanently and the same thing to Kestrel's dad?
>>
One thing worth noting: There is an unspoken agreement between all heroes and villains that you don't kill each other except under exceptional circumstances. People who violate that rule tend to find both sides turning against them as unstable wildcards upsetting the system. Having killed a hero/villain's friends or family is generally considered reason enough to kill the person responsible, however. It wouldn't cause villains in general to turn against you, but it would mean that if Amp and Kestrel decided to go Punisher on you, specifically, even other heroes would let them off with what amounts to a stern talking to.
>>
>>20194639
Presonally I would like to subvert at least one of them, b/c no villian ever succeds in doing that in the comics. And since we want to be more succesful than the adverage comic book villain we should get started as soon as possible. Probably the sidekick is more impressionable, being younger and whatnot. In the meantime focus on. The goblin chick.
>>
>>20194712
Lol wooot? Are those villains all wannabes? I think we might need to break that system...

Also, we dont want to look like a villain. More like an angry mob boss of the muertes... They could be allowed to place a bomb in a school or something.
>>
>>20194736

Those villains like being alive. Fact of the matter is, you are probably going to lose a few fights every now and then. If you want the result of those defeats to be getting tossed in the Towers for like a week before your inevitable escape rather than the Iron Master dying and rolling up a new villain, you're going to want to avoid upsetting the status quo too much until you're in a position to be more or less unstoppable.
>>
Okay, action time:
Have some of the ghosts keep an eye on the supers, we need to know everthing we can about them, and if they are anywhere near to finding out about us.
Then focus on gaining a stable base of operations. When the Goblins move to betray Rica we play white knight. Okay, darkish grey.
>>
>>20194716

A risky plan. Impossible without further information about those persons. Could we build an infiltrator bot in the form of a highschool kid that can reasonably mix in and try to get in the good graces with Amp? So we can find out how he is thinking?

If he finds out our roboboy is in fact, a robot, he could tell he has been left by his creator and is now searching for a role model or some load a crap. That would surely involve Kestrel, and if we built roboboy good enough they might take him into their superheroteam...

What do you say guys?
>>
So, let's see if we can get some useful info about that gang leader girl now.

Right now, we the choice seems to betweeen having the muertebot contact her and offer protection and alliances in exchange for service or we can send a bot to ask her to serve the iron master in exchange for the same.

I'd rather have her work directly for the iron master, much like Julio.

So, I suggest that we send a bot and speak to her via remote control.
>>
>>20194773
Also a good idea. Seconded. I hope we can do two things at the same time?
>>
>>20194802
Samefag here
Or, we can just send her a secure phone and talk to her that way.
>>
>>20194779
I'm not saying it would be easy. Heck the challenge of it is half the reason why I want to do it in the first place. The other half being subverting conventions is fun. But that's longterm, right now we need to get the show on the road and recruit rica.
>>
>>20194822
I personally like the idea of swooping in like big damn heroes and saving the day more... but i like dramatics. It might make her more loyal later on than working out a protection contract.
>>
>>20194802
Better to wait for the goblins to hand her over to the murtes and then do a dramatic rescue.
>>
>>20194856
The goblins are not superheroes, they are more likely to just kill her.
>>
I've updated the Machines powerset to cover a few things you guys might want to do that the current rules don't allow for.

MACHINES

*AI (You create an AI which gives you a +1 bonus to all Technology checks whenever you have access to it)
*Synthskin (Your robot minions can look and act like actual normal humans, even in close personal interaction)
**Super Vehicle (You have a drill car, or a hoverboard, or a mech, or some other super vehicle which gains 1 power from any set for free, usable only while you're in it, other powers can be purchased with the regular XP cost for the vehicle only without paying to unlock the entire power set)
**Terminators (For 2 PP you can create robot minions with stats of 2, which can be adjusted but not raised higher than 4 and which must average 2 or less, cannot control more robots than maximum PP)
**Mechs (For 4 PP you can create robot minions with stats averaging 4 and which cannot be raised higher than 6, and which can have powers (which can be paid for by selling ACTIONS for XP at the same exchange as for advancing ACTIONS, so you get 4 XP for decreasing a stat from 4 to 3). These powers must be pulled from sets you have unlocked. Your mechs are at least eight feet tall, and can be as tall as 30 or 40 feet. Each one counts as 3 robots for purposes of determining the maximum amount you can control)
***Mechagodzilla (For 9 PP you can create a gigantic robot, big enough to act as a mobile hideout, which can be equipped with gigantic weapons like ICBMs and the like)
***SkyNet (You upload yourself into a computer, thus allowing you to continue living through a series of robot bodies until someone finds and destroys all the machines which now make up your intelligence)
>>
>>20194883
Well, it was stated they want to give her over to the Morellis as appeasement since she started the gang war between the two groups. I doubt they will kill her if there is another way.

If our bots can save her whenever the shitstorm starts abrewing i would advise to just continue watching...
>>
>>20194883
Use ghosts to do recon then. Plus, I'm pretty sure we do not yet have the firepower to enforce a protection contract
>>
>>20194929
We need this synthskin thing. Its usefull. Also, Mechagodzilla.
>>
>>20194938
I can see where you are coming from, but that's pretty risky.
Once shit goes down, it may be either too late or too chaotic to get her out of there uninjured.

I'd rather send her a secure phone and talk about it right now.
>>
>>20194979

I dislike revealing connections to ourselves. We are squishy, and we are'nt skynet yet. But i think security is more important then risk. Send her the phone. Try and talk it out...
>>
I'm currently waiting on a decision as to whether to inform her now or stage a dramatic rescue when the betrayal goes down. Once I get two actual characters to talk to each other about stuff this should hopefully get more entertaining (although I do seem to have an actual audience again, so that's cool).

Worth noting that you do have a human henchman on hand, though. Julio could contact her.
>>
You guys know what we need?
We need a factory.
Building bots one by one is nice and all, but it limits us severely. Starting up a legit factory has benefits - we can mass produce, we can buy raw materials in bulk and we can make some profit out of it.

To do this, we would need a loyal minion who would be the public owner of the factory and we would need to produce something legit, like household appliances or toys or something.
Toys sound good, actually, every kid wants his own talking robot and we could make some pretty high quality ones with us being a gadgeteer and all.
And toy robots use the same materials as warbots, so that's another layer of obfuscation.
>>
>>20195070
Hm. Yes, i can see doin it via Julio and a secure phone. Talk to her and see if she believes us about the betrayals.

Our goal in this is to install her as our loyal servant at the head of the goblins. We might also want to go for an alliance of espadas and gobbos, but that is for later.
>>
>>20195070
I'd rather not have her talk to Julio juuuust yet. Keeping everything segmented is good for keeping anyone from connecting too many dots, especially now that neither of them has any actual loyalty towards us.

Another benefit of keeping everything in cells is that people underestimate us.

Someone messes with the Iron Master and suddenly every gang in the city is after them.
>>
>>20195140
Changing vote to this. We need to get stuff moving
>>
>>20195093
Hm... We need serious money as well as investors to start up our own Factory. We need more mobs on our side to do something like that.
>>
>>20195157

Sorry, changing vote to what, exactly? I know you're not using Julio, but how are you contacting her? Or are you saving her from the betrayal when it occurs?
>>
>>20195183
Oh yeah. This isn't something we can do right away.
We need to take over a nice chunk of the local criminals before we can gather the resources for this.

We also need a minion that won't just sell the factory and run off with the money.
>>
>>20195195
Send secure phone, use voice modulator to talk to her ourselves.
Preferable the same one our body double bot uses.
>>
>>20195225
Yes, that. We can prolly deliver the phone via Info gathering bot. Just run by, throw it into the mail with a letter that says type first number, vital information regarding _Name of one of the traitors goes here_ will await you
>>
Alright. You drop the phone off at her house. It's a rundown sort of dump that's shared with a couple of Goblin Gangers, but the package is addressed to her and reaches her safely. A few hours later, you get a call from the number. "Alright, what the fuck is this about? Who are you?" she asks.
>>
So, introduce ourself as the Iron Master, tell her who is planning to betray her and offer her to work for us in exchange for our protection?

I'm not 100% sure about this one
>>
>>20195331
"Rica Rivera, i assume? Very good. I'll cut to the point. I recently aquired some information about... the state the Goblins are in. Apparently you are loosing this scuffle with the Outfit? Hm... I might be able to asisst you. In a way."
>>
>>20195393

"Yeah, I'm sure. What's the catch?" she asks.
>>
>>20195429
"You would have to work for me, of course. You will be provided with information and assistance that will ensure your survival. In exchange, you essentially become my permanent employee."
>>
>>20195429
"Well, one thing at a time. I plan on doing buisness with you for a long time, and since i was the one to initiate contact it is only fair that i provide you with a "gift" first. You know those guys in your gang, *insert Traitor names here*? They are already planning to betray you. Sell you out to the Morellis. They kind of ... paniced after the recent losses the Goblins sustained. I assure you, my sources are very accurate."
>>
>>20195489

She mutters something under her breath. "Why the Hell should I believe you over my set?" she asks, "I don't know a damn thing about you, you haven't even told me your name. Any jackass with a cell phone could say that."
>>
>>20195489
This
>>
>>20195520
Uh, thats a good question guyz. Do we have evidence? i didnt read the thread were we dealt with the traitors.
>>
>>20195520
That's nice, but not every jackass with a cellphone is the Iron Master, nor does every jackass with a cellphone have a team of combat droids ready to back you up when you dig yourself in too deep into trouble.

I would not be making this offer if I had nothing to give weight to it.
Also, this is a payment upon delivery kind of deal. I keep you from getting killed or worse and you then work for me.
>>
>>20195520
"true enough, but then I don't expect you to believe me right way, but I can provide some reassurance that I know what I am talking about." Then give her the rundown on the goblins current assets, all of them. "I of course have similar information about your opponents."
>>
>>20195574

You spoke to a ghost of one of the Goblins your Family-bots killed with the Ecto-Reader. He didn't know you were responsible for killing him, so you eventually managed to wheedle out of him what he'd been planning and who else was involved.
>>
>>20195520
>>20195603
this, also add

"Well, you will certainly not loose anything. I do not know when the traitors will strike, only that they will have to make their move soon. My men are already in position (ooc: if not, make it so) to bail you out if you get attacked. I only ask you to watch your back, so that i do not... need to watch valuable merchandise get broken."
>>
>>20195627

"Oh, and call me Mr. Irons. I have many names, that one will suffice for now."
>>
>Not saying only "Beware of Brutus.", hanging up, and then stage the rescue when the time comes
The call has already been too long; you're trying to come off as reasonable chaps/bosses. Show her that you mean business, better to be feared than to be loved, etc.

Whelp, guess we just are different persons.
>>
>>20195705
Honestly, this. It's Super Villain Quest, not Play Nice Quest.
>>
>>20195705

Well, i wouldve ended the conversation after this. Also, i like to think of the Iron Master as a smooth criminal who never looses his cold. I want us to be seen as someone who can be relied upon doing what helps ourselves and our underlings.

But, i did not really read the first threads so i might be out of character.
>>
>>20195732
Hey, I fully intend to be villanous and whatnot. I just prefer my minions without chronic backstabbing disorder. Gotta make a foundation first ya'know.
>>
>>20195754
We have yet to establish a character.

I just prefer efficiency to posturing, that's why I'd rather go for the polite "I have stuff you need to keep your heart beating, take them or I'm leaving you out to dry" approach.
>>
>>20195777
Well, that was more or less what i was trying to submit. Only more veiled and less blunt. We are professional, we know something that is vital for her and we want to work with her. Mob bosses usually react badly when ppl just waltz in and try to take over their gang, even if they are in trouble.
>>
"Yeah, whatever, we'll see," Rica says, and then ends the call. Your warrior bots, meanwhile, are already moving into position to protect her when the inevitable happens.

The following night, your info gatherer bots spot her as she gets into a car with a couple of her goblin buddies, and they drive off towards the outskirts of Avalon. As they step out, Rica looks around and asks "alright, what's up, why are we here? Morelli's not stupid enough to set up shop right in our backyard, are they?"

One of the goblins walks up behind to try and grab her gun from the hood of her hoodie (she always keeps it down so she has a decent place to stash her weapon), but she notices, turns around, and shoves him away with one hand, pulling the gun out with the other. "Alright, what the fuck?" she asks.
>>
"Just chill out," one of the goblins says.

"Don't give me that shit," Rica says, "what're you fucks up to?"

A car pulls up, and Rica points her gun at the driver of the goblin car. "Get the fuck out, Jake, give me the keys!"

"Rica, will you calm down?" one of the other goblins says.

"Get out, give me the keys!" she shouts again, the driver looking panicked and slowly stepping out of the vehicle.

A pair of Morelli thugs in jackets steps out of the car with SMGs. "Miss Rivera, please," a man in a pinstripe suit says as he steps out of the passenger seat, "why don't you take our car?"

"Fuck all of you," Rica says, "I'm going with the crazy metal super villain."

"The what?" one of the goblins asks.
>>
>>20195880
Our starting signal. Let the bots fuck their shit up. Also, how did she knew we were a super villain? Implications...
>>
>>20195912
Since the OP probably went with a combo of what we wrote, we probably told her.

Anyway, send in the bots.
>>
>>20195880
"terms accepted. initiating extraction"
Target the morelli
>>
The bots, armed with the weapons you looted off the Morelli thugs back when you recruited Julio, open fire on everyone who is not Rica. Goblins and Morelli thugs alike go ducking for cover behind the cars, one of the goblins pegged through the head, blowing his mask and half his skull off and one of the Morelli thugs riddled with SMG fire from one of your bots. The man in the pinstripe suit pops out from behind cover and pegs your lead bot, the one wielding an assault rifle, straight in the head. Fortunately, robots don't die very easily, and your bot takes the opportunity to blow him away.

Bullets tear through the Morelli car, chewing the thug hiding behind it to pieces, while your bots take a more precise approach to the Goblins so as to avoid Rica, who's struggling with one of them in a melee, both of them armed with sidearms. Rica eventually puts a bullet through his gut while your bots rip up the other two. She shoves the other goblin away and shoots him through the head. It takes her a few moments to realize the gunfire is done before she slides her head out from behind the car to look around and make sure everyone's dead.
>>
Hm. It would probably be simple enough to rig up a python program that can run these fights for me. I'll have to look into doing that sometime, doing it by hand is rather time consuming.
>>
Alright, time to say hi to our new minion.
And congradulate her on her new acquisition of some bullet-ridden cars and guns.
And being alive.
>>

Have one of the bots approach and say "Miss Rivera, If you would kindly follow me?" have the other 'bots collect the guns and ammo
>>

>>20196169

Get the good weapons, load Rica up and take her to ...

please tell me we prepared a safehouse beforehand?
>>
>>20196246

You did not. Your workshop is nearby, however.

Ok, bring her to the workshop, if no one has a better idea.
>>
Doesn't she have a place of her own? At least parts of the gang should still be loyal to her.
>>
>>20196303

She does, yeah. Where you sent the cell phone. She lives there with some of the Goblin Gangers. Including some of the ones you just killed. But the Goblins don't have any idea what's just happened, of course. Some of them might not even know there was going to be an exchange in the first place.
>>
Then, tell her that we can let her go home and deal with shit there, with or without killbots backing her up while she cleans house or we can take her to a secure location.
Her choice.
>>
>>20196486

"Let's go back to my place, murderbots oughta clear this shit up in a hurry," Rica says.

When you arrive back at her house, she walks in with the bots just behind and tells the gangers "Jake tried to sell us out to Morelli, so me and my new friends capped him. Now get the fuck out and come back tomorrow, I need to talk with 'em alone."

The Goblin Gangers glance back and forth at each other, then shrug, grab their masks, and leave. Rica sits down on a banged up couch. She grabs a bottle of Jack Daniels off the table, pops it open, and slides the top under her mask to take a drink. "Thanks," she says, almost reluctantly, "for having my back. What'chyou want from me? I'd offer you a drink, but..."

"another time. As to what I want? Well as I'm sure you can imagine, these robots are not exactly made out of the cheapest material imaginable so I need a source of funding. As your parent organisation does not seem inclined to support you I saw an opportunity to expand my powerbase and secure additional funding. Should I contnue to provide you support in your dispute I will need access to funding and stature commiserate to my contributions."
>>
>>20196578
In short, I want you to keep doing what you are doing. Keep the gang going, keep making money, keep your subordinates sharp.
When I call for resources from you, you will provide them.
If you run into something that needs my intervention, I will intervene.

For now, make sure that your gang is stable and that it generates funding. Make sure to keep me informed, I might be annoyed if you don't.
I'm off to sleep, hope to catch the rest of the thread in the archives.
>>
>>20196657

"Yeah, sure," Rica says, "fuck the Goblins for sellin' me out. The guys out in Santa Monica might make some trouble if I start sendin' the drug profits to you instead of them, though. Just, y'know. There's a lot of them. We'll probably need someone to fuck some of them up for us if the shit ever hits the fan."

So, you've subverted an existing set. Which means now it's time to explain how that works. A set's stats look like this:

Avalon Goblins (Catalina Island - Drugs)
Warfare: 1
Morale: 1/2
Upkeep: 1
Business: 4/3/3/2/1 (Drugs/Hookers/Robbery/Arms/Extortion)

Each region has a number of neighborhoods, usually 5-7, but in the case of Catalina Island, just two. Each of these neighborhoods (typically unnamed) has a different sort of crime available in the area. It's possible to shift this around with crimes, but you don't really need to right now, because the Avalon Goblins are good at selling drugs and Avalon is a drugs neighborhood. The upkeep of this set is 1 and their drugs sales nets them 4 resources every turn, which means they're turning out a net profit of 3 resources each week. That's pretty good. They're squishy, however: Their Morale and Warfare stats are pretty low.

When gangs get into a turf war, you roll a number of d6 equal to their Morale, and deal 1 damage to the enemy's Morale for every die that's equal to or lower than their Warfare. The enemy responds in kind before their Morale is decreased. So the Avalon Goblins can be knocked over by a stiff breeze. Fortunately, they're on Catalina Island, which is very hard to get to. It's also possible to have a set shield another set, so that it can't be attacked by other gangs until the shielding set is defeated. A shielded set can't shield other sets, however.

That's the basic gist of it. I'll get into advanced stuff later. It is important to note right now, though, that you can commit crimes to decrease the morale of enemy sets (that's why the Avalon Goblins are hurting), and that sets will naturally regenerate one Morale per turn back up to their maximum. You can also spend resources to build up Morale more quickly.

I am still around for a while, however, so please continue playing. I'm very nearly in a position to finally start doing the things I should've set up to have been happening from the start, so that's cool. Also I apologize for taking this long to get them done.
>>
So, we got some of the goblins to come over to Catalina island?

Or was there already a group of them on the island and we pretty much just turned that group into a new gang, seperate from the goblins?

>post delayed by 5 mins because of duplicate file entry I didn't notice
>>
>>20196955

Avalon is the main town on Catalina Island, so the Avalon Goblins you just took over were always here. The rest of the Goblin Gang over on the mainland is not under your control.

>Captcha: species dquestv

I think Captcha wants to go play one of those Spore-type quests instead.
>>
Oh, and along those lines, if you want to go ahead and rename them, redo their look, etc. etc., you totally can. These guys aren't going to say no to a super villain.
>>
Redisigning them would pretty much tell everyone that they work for us now. Better keep the link between us a secret for now.

RIght now, let's scope out another place to rob/loot/whatever.
Also, send those anonymous letters to the superheroes.
Tell them that we will sell their identities if they don't give up superheroing for good.

Now I really need to go to sleep.
>>
Alright, so I think it's definitely true that earlier is more betterer. I guess this quest is big in Europe.
>>
Alright, so I think I might be able to switch this to starting at 14:00 everyday. That seems to be a slightly better time for this. And hopefully there will be some entertaining Amp and Kestrel shenanigans next time.
>>
What do we do? We take out the island goblens enemies of course! First we use our ghost network to locate a vunerable target, then hit it with a combined goblin/killbot force. Eventually we want control of the whole island, which shouldn't be very hard.
>>
>>20197068
We want to subvert the superheroes if possible, remember?
