To-do: The order of the Martyred Heart is in serious need of fleshing out (no pun intended).

Our stance on psykers.

Overhaul of the Librarian psychic powers, since it was decided that Flesh Tearer fluff didn't quite cut it.

Other: Is our home planet too much of a deathworld, or is this exactly what we want?
>>
Warp storms tend to increase the amount of Psykers in the population drastically via mutation.

I believe this shouldn't be forgotten.
>>
I thought it was too much of a death world but no one else seemed to so it was left as is.
>>
>>20245732
it's easy to make only parts of the planet be a death world

question. because i'm relatively newfag to the warhammer universe.

Are you guys creating your own original space marine chapter? Or does this already exist? I was just curious since that looks like what's going on.

and it kinda got me thinking of my own too
>>
Make the jungle (which dominates most of the planet) deathworld material. Most civilization is clustered around seacoasts, in the hives. Hives can be enormous mountain cities thick with faevella's and ghettos and a south american flaire (people chewing local stimulant leaves, open air markets) whilst the Imperial nobles who are largely of foreign descent live in complete opulence above. The jungle is aggressive and all encroaching, teams with flame throwers have to patrol the walls burning off constantly growing creepers and vines in an ongoing battle to keep the jungle out and space cleared.

Once you step into the jungle, shit gets real.
>>
>>20246053
Comprehensive fan made chapter.
>>
I think Pyskers should be regarded as valued mystics, but be constantly held under suspicion because of their tenuous connection to the warp
>>
>Chainsword Macahuitls
I don't 40k, but nice faction you guys have got here!
>>
You fucking love psykers. Seriously. There's no reason not to, and it fits with the theme. And none of those lame "rune priest" or "blood priest" bullshit, either. Real, honest-to-Emperor PSYKERS. That other nonsense is why you have Chaplains.
>>
What exactly about the Martyred Heart needs fleshing out?
>>
>>20246036
to expand on that...

if the planet is earth size give it a more pronounced axial tilt so more land lies within the tropics and have the tropics and subtropics have the death world qualities while everything else is only moderately dangerous.

I suppose I can serve the Tenocit Xenobiology Guild as well as the Icelus one if need be since I did enjoy making up all the critters there.
>>
>>20246077
I agree, but the chapter has had serious battles with Chaos in the past, and I feel like they might be a little suspicious of most pyskers.

Perhaps they hold all pyskers besides their own in disdain.

Meanwhile, we know that divination is a central part of their battle tactics
>>
>>20246087
speaking of that, I can make you all a basic map that at does a quasi-halfway decent job of being geologically plausible if you want - provided you all aren't dead set on a monobiome.
>>
Wow, this seems pretty cool.
Money Question: Are they loyal or chaos?
>>
Psykers... should probably be used and valued, but considered somewhat dangerous. They make a necessary sacrifice to allow the warp into their souls.

Actually, I was thinking - with the Mesoamerican imagery, has the chapter had any contact with the Slaan?
>>
>>20246111
They're loyal (as far as I know) but somewhat savage and to outsiders they may appear not but 3 steps away from heresy.

Basically, don't put the Ultramarines and the Blood Jaguars on a battlefield together and expect them to get along

Fortunately the BJags (because calling them BJ's makes me giggle like a 12 year old too much) have their own minor Sister of Battle order as allies to lend them fire support,
>>
Speaking of the Martyred Heart, they arrived BEFORE the warp storm and were stranded on the planet for centuries, right?
>>
Psykers are double edged sword, but Librarians have great power and will to resist corruption. Un-Sanctioned Psykers are dangerous, they attract attention of chaos like a worm on the hook. So I could see that they would see to rounding up as much unsanctioned psykers and perhaps putting them through the BJag initiation test.

Astropaths and Sanctioned Psykers are rare but valuable members of the hives. I see a fancination with Astronomy & The Stars, and who better tell what signs, than those that visited the Sun-Emperor?
>>
I'll do a little fleshing out before my mind screams for sleep.

Anyone have those Sisterhood tables we cooked up a while ago? I could have sworn we had one...

Failing that, what do we KNOW about them. right now, all I've got is
>both boys and girls make the trip to try and become Jaguars, but the Sisters kidnap the girls and make them Sisters.

Hello, I am the GM of the Eye of /tg/ Campaign, and as part of my recruitment drive i am trying to get all custom /tg/ chapters into the Campaign, including the Blood Jaguars, though I doubt they will be fleshed out and ready in time.

I have a short piece of Writefaggotry on the thread, where I mention the Jaguars. What I'd like to know is what is their relationship with their fellow BA successors, like the Lamenters, Black Comets, Blood Drinkers ETC. are they good, cordial, bad?
>>
Most psykers are sent to the Sun-Emperor as sacrifices.

Centzon was close. She could feel it and it wasn't even a lie. The air was vibrating, just like her mother had told her it would. As she snaked from behind the tree, she finally stopped relying on her gut and banked on her eyes.

The Temple was really there.

She ducked behind the tree and scampered up the branches, resting on a branch about 20 feet high. Seeing the Temple for the first time was like the first time she had heard a story from Totch. About the Warriors and how they fought the monsters in the night. How even "mitzcatl" and "huizpotl" were scared of the Jaguaral. Tall giants dressed in steel, wandering through the jungle in the dusklight and ensuring her village could sleep. She remembered the day Totch told her he was going to join them and that, in a few years, she could too. She still held the icon Totch had given her. A tiny jade orb, cut in the likeness of a blood drop.

Her anxiety finally bested her fears, and Centzon climbed down from the Nahuatl tree for the last time. She crouched low, into the grass, and gave another look about herself. She didn't want to remember why, but a part of her whispered it anyway.

The Blood Hearts abounded this area.

Girls much like herself would disappear whenever they were so close to the temple. The Jaguaral had made attempts to find it, but they never gave a straight answer. It was always "quetzgal poisoning" or "kidnapped by gangers". Sometimes, though, a girl returned. She would tell lurid tales of "banshees like knights", recalling the (admittedly, ridiculous) tales of warriors who were clad only in steel. And always with that symbol, a bleeding heart... They would draw it ceaselessly and then dissolve into the night. If the Blood Hearts got her... Centzon knew no one else would come for her.
>>
>>20246495
She ran like the rabbit she was named for. Centzon Pinotl, the dawn commissar. With her four hundred rabbits, she cleared the path for T'otec himself against the demons. Centzon only had her two feet and no army of rabbits, but her drive alone was enough to carry her. She estimated the distance to the Temple. One minute... Three-Fourths... One Hal—

Centzon froze like Topogillo when facing the Cultist. But this was no story. Centzon ducked hard, and narrowly evaded the ghast that flew over her, arms wide to grapple her. The red armour gleamed and the figure rose. It was a Blood Heart.

Centzon ran with all her might now. She could make it in a matter of seconds now, right up the stairs to the Temple and into the sanctum. But her run was broken by another Heart, dropping before her like a shadow. Centzon turned, and was faced with a third Heart. The three specters began to close on her. Then, squeezing the icon one last time, Centzon did the unthinkable: She drew the blade stolen from her mother. Jetglass, sharp enough that not even a sleeping tepetongo would feel it. She drew it and picked her mark: the plates around the ribs of that first Heart, the one that broke her dream.

Centzon screamed. She rushed at the Heart, who stood there for half a second too long. the jetglass pierced through the wind, finding the plate's edge— and broke. Centzon gasped, more for air than in shock. She retreated quickly, then dodged another grapple from behind her. She gave another scream and tackled the Heart. This time, the knight was ready, rushing forward to meet the young girl. Centzon allowed herself a smile— the simply stepped to the left.

The Heart crashed into her opposite, leaving two disoritented Hearts in the dust behind Centzon. Picking her run back up, the girl made a final lurch towards the steps of the Temple. Maybe... if she made it that far... the Emper—
>>
>>20246508
Something hit the back of her ankle, and tangled her feet together like a hog. Centzon fell to the ground, and the third Heart stood above her. Centzon blanched in horror. She had, for all intents and purposes, lost. As the Heart leaned forward to pick up her prey, Centzon did the only thing she could.

A final scream echoed through the jungle, and the sickening sound of a fist smashing against ceramite was heard.

---

"Ordinarily, I would just leave her." quipped the Sister, more to see what her companions replied as the young girl demolished her fists on the Noviates helm.

"I want to. I dislike cleaning this helmet." the Noviate returned. "Permission to dose her?"

"No." replied the oldest of the three. "I like this one. She has..."

"What?" the Noviate asked, struggling to contain the now blood-soaked girl.

"...She has a heart worthy of sacrifice. And we can provide that."

The now four Sisters of the Martyred Heart dissolved into the jungle.

Loyalists in a very unique, personal way.
Chaos is something we disdain because it's corrupting and we've experienced the price of Impurity ourselves.

The Codex Astartes is… well, "we use it as toilet paper" would be a good description.
>>20245748

IIRC that's true, and since it's a hiveworld and hasn't been culled for 200 years of our time (2000 for the rest of the galaxy) , the psyker rate among the general population is stupidly high.

>>
>>20246742
Blame it on the warpstorm. The jungle could have run rampant and grown wildly during the storm, overtaking cleared grasslands and surrounding the base of the ziggurats. At the same time, eartquakes and tidal shifts could have made coastal hives sink into swamps and are left skewed and half submerged.
>>

We should be able to eclipse the sun and have night fighting rules for a turn.

>>20246797
Heh, that's what I thought of as well.
The Long Night is pretty central to not only chapter identity, but to the whole culture/sense of life of their homeworld as well.

A sufficiently experienced Mystic will probably be initiated into making the enemy feel the Emperor's Displeasure.

I would bet that these hives are the more ecologically friendly versions so that the vast expanses jungle around them are instantly snuffed out by tons and tons of pollution

to this end, I would venture are guess that most of the hives are deciated toward hydroponics and similar agricultural pursuits. For example, they cultivate vast quantities of algae, moss, and other such plant matter that can be shipped off as food or fuel. Additionally, specific strains of tissue can be easily raised in bioreactors for whatever purpose the AdMech wants and the worlds diverse amount of flora would likely see a LOT of medicines being produced.

Of course this is all if you want a way for the hives to not be giant toxic masses of metal and concrete. If that's what is desired than go for it, but I think it would be an interesting change of pace if they were more "green". Of course everything growing in there is likely dangerous enough to make its population as bad off as the other hives.
>>
Why are they called Blood Jaguars though?

Blood is way too high-traffic for the Chapter, for a full-on 'let's create something cool here' it just seems like a really lazy name.

How about Feathered Serpents?
Just an idea, you're probably in too deep to change the (frankly awful) name now.

>>

>>
>>20246941
They fluffed a plant who's roots eat heavy metals to justify the pollution not killing everything, my question was more about why the popualtion wouldn't expand horizontally with all that unused land instead of going straight up and down as a hive.

>>20246973
Blood Jaguars was taken from a roll. It's a bit generic but I'm not sure much else would fit.
>>
>>20247061
honestly, a plant that metabolizes heavy metal is just going to result in planets that will grow on the exterior of the hive. It'll still die to all the other chemicals in the water and air.

If you want polluted as fuck hives, then you can wing it if you please, but if you want it to be plausible without having to lean back to fiat and 'lol the warp did it' then I would strongly suggest "green" hives. Also if my suggestion is used, most of its waste is going to be stupidly rich in fertilizer which will make the surrounding jungle even denser.

And as for the second part... well that depends on a large number of things. Chances are there would be countless small villages strewn across the countryside, but if there's particularly dangerous flora and fauna it will be difficult for expansion and doing more than provided subsistence levels of agriculture.
>>
I suggest all their Scout Marines be Beakies with an eagle motiff. Thoughts?
>>
>>20247061
Hive construction techniques are easier and cheaper than many other options on a deathworld.

ie the more spread you have the more space you need to keep clear and the more patrols, weapon emplacements and defenses you need. It also increases transport requirements since instead of going up and down with cargo elevators you need to go however far this way or that.

Also hives are already massive, most of them would take up the same amount or more space than a major American city but they go up into the sky for a few kilometers
>>
>>20247100
Part of handling that is the constant burn teams keeping plants back, like some other planets with vigorous plant growth that are in the imperium

Also it is a fungus that grows on the trees instead of a stand alone plant, it needs the trees to live on and absorb the pollutants from just as the trees require the fungus to absorb it from them
>>
>>20247187
Ah, so it's THAT kind of ecosystem. And here I was thinking that this would be just another generic death jungle. Excellent.

>>20246973

>>
>>20247203
We don't do anything generic for the jags.
That's why we went full on Aztec after all

If we haven't already added it I think part of the planets export should be drugs and rare plants. We know the Aztecs ate coca leaves for energy and we have a hell of a planet so maybe some of the poisonous plants can be refined for medicinal purposes
>>
A Blood Jaguar thread? And here I thought /tg/ had abandoned them.

What in particular needs work, fluff-wise?
>>
>>20247300

How about they don't have a "prestomach depoisoning thing" gene, due to them eating all sorts of half-poisonous/toxic plants that boost their reflexes and shit?

Also, they evolved on a planet on which 95% of plants can devour you from inside (exaggeration), so their stomachs should be ridiculously strong anyway.
>>
>>20247459
They have it but it is tasked to capacity because they regularly take the unrefined products of these plants to increase their skills.

Humans need to take vastly refined versions because it would just destroy their insides for a short term boost

So, this is my few cents on the Blood Jaguars:
They practice human and xeno sacrifice in the name of the Emperor, who is SYMBOLIZED by the sun, which they picked up during their 2000 year long isolation. The sun is a symbol and nothing else, but they honour what it symbolizes by performing sacrifices when it is at its highest. They have the Red Thirst, so they sometimes drink the blood of their sacrifices (mostly from human sacrifices?) and sometimes they also eat their flesh.

They suffer from the Black Rage, but instead of giving into it like the Flesh Tearers, they practice deep spiritualism to achieve extreme focus and concentration. They try to find their "optimal anger" where they are most comfortable, to harness as much strength and ferocity as possible without coming too close to snapping entirely.

They have a VERY low Chaos turnout. Falling to Slaneesh is practically unheard of, except in a few cases where some freaks became ridiculously addicted to blood sacrifice and ingestion. Nurgle also doesn't happen, statistically speaking, because even those who fall tend to embrace life and diversity. Khorne happens, but less often than one might think, as their practices don't really leave Khorne with much to offer - if they give into the Black Rage there's the Death Company, after all. Tzeentch happens, but not as aften as Khorne, due to the nature of the Chapter Librarians.
>>
Would asking /sci/ for geographic/flora/fauna help be a good idea? I don't like it when things like that make no actual sense, to say the least.

Also, I like the idea of the hives going green. They don't cause too much polution and what they do make is mitigated by Mortem Sacco.
To the guy asking about that: Mortem Sacco doesn't actually actively need the chemicals, it just filters and stores them as part of it's normal cycle.
>>
>>20249162
I know THAT, I meant what's new in this thread?
>>20249293
Xipet is the one hailed for leading them onto a more individualistic and spiritual path, although others had just as much to do with the actual reforms as he did. He, however, was the first Blood Jaguar warrior to pursue it whole-heartedly, and after he fought a Daemon Prince of Khorne/Malal (I would prefer Khorne, adhering to the dice of a spin-off project that never took off and that creates consistency problems with its father project is just silly), having led it away from the main force of Jaguars, whom he corrupted by making them fly into the Black Rage. Xipet fought and defeated it without falling to it, which was a testament to his spiritual strength and conviction.
>>

The training and trials that Aspirants and Neophytes go through may seem brutal and suicidal, but the truth is that it has a well-scaling difficulty curve with months and years of preparation to ensure that anyone who attempts the next step has all the necessary skills to pass. Failing isn't seen as a problem and one can try as many times as they like unless they show themselves particularly unsuited for advancement. The Jaguars believe in training and honing your mind, body and spirit rather than picking those who seem to have the making for becoming the elite of the elite, as the constant struggle of the jungle has shown to them that the seemingly most unremarkable creature or individual may hide the greatest potential.

He never said they couldn't work together or be franz, just that they're not from the same planet. Seeing as they've made up their very own planet, it makes a lot of sense for him to say no to such a black and white question like that.
>>
I'm really liking the black and white in the jungle and faith vs unfaith that Malal gives us. Along with the 'Faithless Heart' ritual.
Seems Malal has very few followers and they mainly only go after chaos, though.
Khorne was only originally said because we started as RIP AND TEAR Aztec Marines, which we really no longer are. Now we're the Faithful Aztec Marines.
>>
Can somebody create a agreed upon list of the current cannon for the Blood Jaguars?

A lot of this material is contradictory and confusing at the moment.
>>
>>20249421
Orks are their most common enemy in terms of military threat, as their planet has a substantial ork population, which is thankfully held in check by the native flora and wildlife as much as it is by the Blood Jaguars. The orks close enough to the Hives are often quite feral given the difficulty of obtaining proper loot or even raw minerals, and also act as something of a buffer against the more organized and tech-savvy orks from more remote areas of mountains and hills, where the jungle is less dense and mineral deposits more plentiful. These pockets of orkiness, removed from one another as they are, often fight amongst themselves, and many barely know about the humans on the planet, due to the vast distances and the hard to traverse (not to mention map and navigate) terrain. The Blood Jaguars have plenty of smaller groups of scouts keeping an eye on the larger clans, and make sure to assassinate any Warbosses before they become a real threat.

Chaos is opposed with great fervour, perhaps more so than with the average Space Marine Chapter, due to the long warp storm, the almost-killing of Xipet, and due to their branch of spirituality that embraces the balancing of life and death, which Chaos seeks to tip towards ruin (excessive death).

Alright. Confirmed: Chapter Master, what he did (Kill a Daemon Prince), fluff regarding Homeworld, Organization, Primoginator and Predecessor
Up in the air
Pretty much everything else.
>>
>>20249461
We're still rip and tear in combat and in sacrifice, we just try to balance it so we don't go over the edge. We're still balancing it constantly. And there still are no Daemons of Malal. I personally prefer fitting fluff with existing fluff rather than making it up to fit a single part of homebrew, even if it sounds like a very good piece of homebrew. And why is it so much worse to test their focus and willpower through the Black Rage as opposed to general faith?
>>
>>20249603
I said I LIKED not that I demand we have it.

>And why is it so much worse to test their focus and willpower through the Black as opposed to general faith?
Are you refering to the 'Faithless Heart' trial? If so: Once again, I just like it.
Also, Malal really doesn't HAVE any fluff to his name. Just a little early on in the games history and what might be references to him recently.
>>
>>20249590

In regards to organization have we considered making a reference to the Aztec ranks?

Neophytes: Eagle warriors. focused on fast and focused attacks

Battle Brothers: Jaguar Warriors. Focusing on up front assaults

Elites: Shorn ones - Higher ranking warriors having taken oaths to never take a step back in battle

Death squad: The Otomies. In Aztec culture they were a distinct tribe from the Aztecs known for their ferocity in war. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otomi_%28military%29

What do you think?

I don't think we have taken any actually NOTABLE termanology from them. If we have, someone please tell me what. (Aztec sounding names don't count)
>>
>>20249719
Why not? I imagine the Shorn Ones need to refill their ranks more often, but in a way the Death Company, with their Rage, perform the same role.
>>
>>20249767
And "Jaguars". Why not just call the Neophytes "Eagles"? Seems to fit their role, as they're naturally not expected to fulfill the exact same role as a full Jaguar. That just wouldn't be strategically or tactically sound.

Let's just forget the Shorn Ones then, since we have the Death Company.

Also the fact that it mentions neither are bound to a specific planet.
LoL literally infernal titan.
I'm also a Scraploota, though.
>>
>>20250234

Can there please be a fanfic where the Scraplootaz lose for a change?
>>
>>20250464
No, because that always ends with Boris getting destroyed so far.
If you can write one that doesn't destroy one of the Scraplootas focal points, please do.
>>
>>20250464
Scraplootas never lose, they just run away so they can win later!

I'll see what I can do. The problem is they're just too fun to write for that I never want to see the little guys lose. That and one concrete and utter loss is all it would take to wipe out the Scraplootas for good.
>>
>>20250498

So one buttmad retard wrote a story in which your titan gets destroyed and now they have to win everything forever? It would be easy to write a scenario where they lose and the titan is still around. Like, the story you just wrote, maybe they shot the sergeant but they still got their ass whooped by the marines and had to retreat. Presto, a loss. I'm not going to write anything for them, because tbh the stories so far have a sort of psychotic mood to them where people keep dying bloodily and Blue and the rest just treat it as a big joke. I know that's how Orks are supposed to be, but somehow Blue brings out the creepy side of it to me.

Anyway, I prefer the Jaguars and would have liked them to not be linked with the Scraplootaz at all, but since I'm just one guy, I don't mind my opinion being disregarded.
>>
>>20250456
I appreciate the feedback. And yeah, the Scraplootas get around. That's their whole deal. I imagine the BJags flit about every which way hunting down greenskins, too.
>>20250555
>So one buttmad retard wrote a story in which your titan gets destroyed and now they have to win everything forever?
Dude, chill the fuck out, seriously. I said I'd look into it. Shit, that's the first time we've even really seen them fight all that much. Them fighting the tau was more about Blue's trials and the aftereffects of that fight and the Snekkit thing was just plain silliness. Silliness directed at other nameless orks, to boot.
>because tbh the stories so far have a sort of psychotic mood to them where people keep dying bloodily and Blue and the rest just treat it as a big joke.
Welcome to orks, enjoy your stay. Orks are inherently gallows humor where every brutal, gory kill is just a zoggin good time to them. As for Blue, yeah it's kinda unsettling, but to me, that's what makes it so funny. Here's a little girl being raised by serial killers and - holy fucking shit - she actually fits in with them like a goddamn glove.

Like I said, I'll try to cook something up, but I just write as inspiration hits me.
>>
>>20250555
It's not "win everything forever", it's what >>20250501 said.
Scraplootas have about 150 total orks. A big battle that they lose could easily obliterate them.
Also, named characters out the ass.
>>
Well during Earth's highest oxygen rates we had huge insects, huge dinosaurs, huge is the key word. With the temperature being tropical this favors reptiles, and insects.

Does the planet have bodies of water? Are the caps melted and nothing but jungle or water? During the Dinosaurs Anartica was way up from it's current location. It slowly was pushed via plate tetonics to it's current location. As the planet got colder it froze. Before that there was no ice caps and the ocean was much higher. Most of NA at one point or another was a shallow sea.

Now I personally like flying feathered serpents. It could've evolved to glide from tree to tree in search of prey. It should probably be about 10' long with 30' wingspan. The habitat should mostly be in the canopies.
>>
>>20250846
We were thinking giant felinids and Terror birds as well. Not sure about water bodies. Not sure about ice caps.
>>
>>20250846
We have a highly earthlike planet that has multiple biomes. We decided that early this thread.
I have no idea how everyone wants to do our planets geological history. Would you mind making a randomized history for us?
If you know your shit about geological history.
>>
>>20250933
Geo history is un-needed. Unless there's been active geological surveys. I assume that plate tectonics works the same way.

This would mean volcanoes, mountains, & deserts. So if it's like Earth perhaps the only "hospitable" region was the jungle continent. We could make the jungle continent stratal the equatorial line. This would ensure plant growth way it is.

Huge bodies of water would be good to keep the planet warm and wet. With the warm air and water hurricanes are probably normal, and truly dangerous ones are Hypercaines. Perhaps that's why they built the hives in the Jungle. Protection against the Hypercaines that sweep across the other continents.
>>
>>20251088
I just like to have things make sense and not have to think 'is that really how geophysics would make it?'
In other words, I'm one for high realism where it can be put. As long as the realism fits the setting.

I believe there was discussion about an increased tilt compared to earth to increase the tropical zone. Would that work? And what other effects would it have?
>>
>>20251299
Well how the axil tilt determines where the star's heat strikes, and bunch of other stuff. Also which type star we going for? G1 star is like ours. However each star has different habitual zones, also how fast the planet goes around said star could affect things.

Let's just say that it's like the Earth, but it's current state is like our Trassic period. So it's gonna be wet, and hot.

Outside the hives lung-rot would be a very real problem. Unless the colonist were genetically modified, which they would've if they arrives during Dark Age of Man.
>>
>>20251454
>and bunch of other stuff
It's amazing how perfect the earth is situated for a well balanced yet interesting world.

Taking a break cause of fingers and food. Here's what i've got so far. Couldn't decide on a single pose so I used all of them. A little out of character, but makes for a nice composition.

Thoughts of colors? The green kind of blends in with the jungle, which in theory is good for stealth, but visually bland. The standard Death Company colors are black er'where, which is another kind of bland.

The soft grass below Centzon's feet yielded to her boot, and silently accepted her steps. She privately thanked the Sun-Emperor for that— in a forested jungle or a dusty chaparral, such an unsung approach would be nigh-impossible and the mission would probably not be as flawless as Centzon predicted it would be. Here in the plains area, however, sneaking about could still be done. As the Hummingbird glided away, she got low and began to creep up the gentle hill, so as to make eyes with her target.

Less than a minute away was the homestead. She could see, about 3 minutes from that, the transport carrying her sisters. She clicked the button on her collar and intoned gently into the receiver. "Have you made contact yet?" she asked her companions in the main transport. Her accented voice contrasted with her superiors smooth low gothic.

"We're about to. Wait four, then approach."

Centzon paced a round for a second, then got back down. She could see, just barely in the dusklight, the Sisters climbing out of the truck and going up to the front door of the homestead. Only one person answered, a middleaged man. She could have imagined the conversation, if the radio hadn't provided it for her.

"Seiur Quihuix Tecapet?" the Sister Superior asked. Centzon had to strain to hear the reply.

"Yes... to what do I owe the pleasur—"
>>
>>20253064
Centzon cut the feed as she saw Tecapet leave the homestead and walk out to the transport. She started a brink run towards the homestead's back exit. The excuse was simple: the Sisters had heard reports of immunological infections in the region and they were investigating allegations of bioterrorism. They needed a bloodtest from everyone in the area to properly map out the infection's vectors. Personally, Centzon couldn't have cared if the story had been the search for a lost puppy; as long as it kept Tecapet long enough to sneak in and do a search, Centzon would be happy.

She finally hit the back of the homestead and flattened herself against the wall. She strafed over to the door and gently tried the knob. The Sun-Emperor was with her. It slid open, and Centzon twisted herself through the crack.

Once inside, she looked around, her eyes searching for a tell-tale clue of heresy. She found... nothing. A few torillas. A stove. Some tea. She realized she was in the kitchen, so she moved into an adjacent room. A bedroom, one bed and a television on the nightstand. Sparse, but that was the life of a trader. And then she figured it out: the storage room. A trader needed a place to keep his mechants entertained, and his wares safe. The large garage on the other side of the compund fit the bill like a sunbeam in Xotchil's at-las.
>>
>>20253094
As she walked to the other side of the homestead, switching the radio back on as she did. She heard only one line.

"With the highest respect, Sister, I don't have time tonight. I'll be happy to come down next week, but I have to pack for a trip into Cenote tonight."

"Very well. If you could just take a few minutes to sign these forms—" Centzon cut the feed again. She had a minute, two at most. As she glaced around the strage chamber, her heart fell. She couldn't find anything suspicious, just boxes and a few couches...

But on a shelf lay something odd. A wood round, cut from a tree branch. It looked like Nahuatl wood... but what caught Centzon's eye was the pattern of the rings. It looked strange... disorienting... like a face... Looking straight down....

Centzon followed its gaze and found, at long last, her mark. A simple grate, probably for air conditioning. Probably. She lifted it and found a ladder going straight down. Lowering herself into the pit, she gave a short whistle to see how long the echo took to return to her. If she hadn't been so focused, another story, probably involving Chirok the dire bat, would have come to mind. Once she was sure she would survive the fall, Centzon let go, falling through the air and into the shaft.
>>
>>20253099
She hit the bottom with a hard clunk and landed in a small room. Landing on her knee, what she saw was already enough to radio back to the transport.

"Found something. Hold Tecapet until I get back."

Centzon cut the line again. She appraoched that which had made her heart worry. An entire wall was covered in newsprint cuttings. Reports of disease sweeping the region. Biological surveys into the nature of the disease. Mechanicum papers on... transmission vectors.

And an order for several pounds of universal anti-bodies. Which lay right at Centzon's feet.

"Superior. He was planning to taint an order of antibodi—" Centzon just barely managed to duck as a heavy bat swung through the air and nearly connected with her head. She twisted as she crouched, and met her foe as the bat dropped and a knife was drawn.

A thin, almost skeletally so woman stood before her. She was naked and the only thing covering her was facepaint in a cruel mockery of the human skull. She held a jetglass blade in her hand. Centzon couldn't help but chuckle as she drew her own. The two women circled each other, waiting for one to make an error. Centzon noticed a small alter behind her and had an idea. She began to back up towards it, taking great care to look afraid. The other woman grimaced and began to close distance. Finally, Centzon backed into a bowl... and fell as she lost all footing.

The cultist lunged, seeking to capitalize on the moment of failure. Centzon smiled back and simply rolled over. She was already on her feet by the time the cultist realized what had happened. A swift kick to the ass of the woman was enough to knock her prone. Centzon knelled over her and pulled her head back. She would've liked to just put her out now... but she radioed command instead.

"Superior. I have fresh blood for the Sun."

If did like writing the Sisters like they were almost like Predators, running around doing covert shit and wrecking cultist shit. But I did think that they should have a more "professional" face too. So why not both? I'll probably write something like the opposite of that sometime. Sisters doing political work, actually just a front for real military operations. Maybe another one involving that girl who actually escaped...

What kind o shit belongs on the world itself? I mentioned the jungles, the plains and "dusty chaparral". Should I cover these and some of the flora/fauna?

"Centzona Maztlal!" the tallest of the three Heart screamed at her, not out of anger, but just to overcome the sound of the storm. "Are you paying attention?"

"My hands hurt!" Centzon yelled back. It took all her willpower not to correct the Heart on her name. The Heart next to Centzon chuckled. "You mean the bits that are still on your wrists and not smeared on my armour?"

Centzon blushed and looked at the bloody things resting on her lap.

"Were you paying attention, Centzona?" the Heart repeated herself.

"Yes..." Centzon answered after a few seconds.

"Then where are we right now?"
>>
>>20254218
"We are..." Centzon looked outside. "Over the Quauitl Jungles. Approximately 4 hours from..."

"Where we found you." the Heart finished for her. "How do you know?"

"Ummm.... those spires! They have the SothCom logo at the top, and that means that they're harvesting Soth Lichen, which only grows in Quauitl." Centzon smiled sheepishly, then gasped as another bolt of pain shot through her.

The Heart noticed this and asked another question. "What's beyond the jungle?"

Centzon strained to think again. "Ummm.... Riparian forests... Some mountains.... Then there's a desert on the other side, right?"

"Very good. What desert is it?" the Heart asked as the hummingbird gave a lurch to the left.

"Ummm... The Rainsha— I mean... Quiautlitz Desert. There are two main hives there, and they focus on the harvesting of obsidian for jetglass and electronics." Centzon responded in one breath.
>>
>>20254134
...Because they aren't. They're more BLOOD FOR THE SUN EMPEROR, and not JAGUAR THE JAGUAR JAGUARS that the Space Wolves are.
>>
>>20254230
"Excellent. Final question... What is directly a head of us?"

Centzon was frozen in thought. She had no idea.

"Ummm.... Well, there's a river... same as the Ripar..." She had no idea what the response could be. It was important... There was another mountain... Her mind was tricking her... there wasn't a mountain it was a volcano... and not a river... everything was dark... so much blood... she failed and was failing still...

Her eyes were shut and her mind was blank. She had failed once and now she had failed for good. Her eyes flitted open one last time, and she saw it. The river delta. A wide flood plain where the Riparian river system flowed into the ocean. and a lone island in the center of the flood plain, with the top spewing smoke and flame.

She pushed forward, both literally and spiritually. "Directly ahead is Popocatepetl, the Fire Hive, which is a volcano in the center of the Goyo River Delta. It serves as the base of the Martyred Hearts Sisters of Battle." Despite the bandages, Centzon had just clenched her fist.

"Excellent. Prep a medical bay. We have a Sister in need of attention."

Okay, for the writefaggotry I have in mind, I would like to propose some ideas and personas. It should be noted that the names aren't final, I just grabbed them to have something to call them.

Epistolary Ocelotl – Second-in-command of the Librarians and blood brother of Xipet. He held great influence over Xipet's spiritual ideas, and they formed the new ways together as equals. A humble man, of great spirituality and faith, who admires Xipet. Quiet but very enthusiastic regarding his beliefs.

Chapter Master Xipet T'otec – Chapter Master, trying to pass extensive spiritual reforms. Stubborn to a fault, he is never the less the greatest warrior the Blood Jaguars have ever seen and his strategical reforms enabled the Chapter to stand against and push back the Cultists.

Head Librarian Icpalli – Current Head Librarian who opposes Xipet's reforms. A great warrior in his own right and deeply spiritual, he relentlessly holds onto the old ways of the Chapter, perhaps rightfully fearing that reforms in the middle of these chaotic times would create confusion and allow Chaos the opening it needed. A good man who never showed Ocelotl any resentment despite of his collaboration with Xipet.

This is supposed to be around the time of the last great battle of against the Cultists, when Xipet defeated C'rtez. This also may or may not be the commonly known view on these persons as held by all but the innermost circle of Librarians of today.
>>
>>20254274
I would like to point out that Icpalli only opposes the SPIRITUAL reforms, not the other ones. He gives Xipet all the respect he deserves for his wartime accomplishment,

I really like the idea of Icpalli being right.

A NOTE ON NAMING CONVENTIONS:
As a whole, Aztec names don't really follow any uniform system. For example, most Chinese names consist of lone syllables, most Western names come from the Bible, etc. Aztec names don't really have that. For example, "Tetl" (Stone) is just as valid a personal name as "Nezahualcoyotl" (Hungry Coyote). You could get away with pretty much anything that sounds Nahuatl.

HOW TO MAKE THINGS SOUND NAHUATL: A BASIC GUIDE
>When in doubt, add "tl" to the end.
>The letters "z" "t" "l" and "p" are your friends
>The letters "ch", "th" and "d" are not.
>Useful constructions include: "tl", "hua" "tep" and "poc"

LAST WORDS:
The more important something is, the longer their name is. Centzon, the star of my writefaggotry thus far, will never be Canoness, for example. This isn't always true, but it's historically accurate.

Animals and plants will FAR more often have "tl" at the end than will people names.

Places will USUALLy have a "p" and a "t" in them.

Consonants should go together. Note "popcatepetl". No more than ONE vowel between each consonant, and that's just for pronunciation cues.

Okay, this is what I have so far. I really have no idea if it's anything worth reading. Anyway, this is supposed to be during the final battle against the hordes of C'rtez inside the Hive.

To Miquiztli it seemed like he had swung his dual-bladed chainsword for days without rest, cleaving through unending hordes of Warp spawn while trying to keep up with Chapter Master Xipet T'otec and Epistolary Ocelotl. The screeching of Warp beasts and chains tearing into unholy flesh assaulted him from all sides. As his brother Jaguars battled the twisted hordes of the Chaos Gods, the relentless assaults tore the lives out of the Emperor's warriors one by one, slowly eroding their defensive lines. Desperately he assessed the situation. It was evident that through sheer numbers and mass, they were being defeated. Just like before, during the Cult Uprisings.
Another enemy beast was laid low by Miquiztli just as a four-headed monstrosity overpowered and broke through the outermost line of defense. Miquiztli was standing right in its path and could do little but cut open one of the long necks whose head was snapping at him, before being lifted up by the leg. Cursing vehemently he could feel the onset of the Black Rage rise within him.
>>
>>20254791

Pulling with all his might he tried to free his weapon from where it was lodged inside the accursed being. But without something to brace himself against it seemed futile. He didn't see any other way than to give into the berserker urge hammering through his body and soul, when suddenly he fell hard against the ground. He scrambled up towards the weapon jutting from one of the flailing necks of his enemy, but hte moment he laid his hand on it something grabbed him from the back and twisted him around. The worked-up Jaguar lashed out with his bare hands but was pushed backwards against body of the Warp hydra just as it collapsed. ”FOCUS! REMEMBER THE LIGHT AND THE EMPEROR!” rang the words inside his helmet, but they seemed hollow as he had trouble focusing his vision on any one thing. His heart beat rapidly inside his chest and he was mere moments away from giving in, when a wave of relief washed over him. Suddenly he was aware of his Brother in Blood standing over him, shouting to reach through the fog of his mind as he had been working himself into he Black Rage.
>>
Bumping for you all. Sorry about the argument in my thread.
>>
>>20254979
"The Emperor's Light has washed away the Rage," Miquiztli shouted and rightened himself. Reaching out he grabbed his weapon and tore it out of the corpse. "Your words must have cut through my madness, Brother." However, hearing no response to this he turned around to find his fellow Jaguar look back towards the rear of their fighting group. An even greater ruckus seemed to be taking place back there. A quick look around confirmed that not only that, but that they could hear it at all was due to a sudden lull in the fighting. Warp spawns and lesser daemons alike were retreating. "It's Head Librarian Icpalli and his squad!" shouted the brother who had saved him moments earlier, and the shout was taken up by several other Jaguars. "They must have been the one to pacify your rage, Brother Miquiztli!"
Well, whatever the reason was, it had been closer than he had ever been before. He had never fallen to the Rage despite living and fighting through desperate times before.

"Don't let relief cloud your senses, brother," he adviced the rejoicing man. "Icpalli was meant to break through another way. And as grateful as I am, I cannot imagine that this change of plan was brought on by fortunate circumstances."
As he spoke, their defensive lines parted to let the Head Librarian and his group of warrior-psykers stand in their midst. "Brother Jaguars," the imposing Head Librarian proclaimed. "I fear we bring ill news. The northern approach has proven to be unbreachable. Thus we have joined you here, to-"
Miquiztli was only paying half a mind to the words of Icpalli. He knew that something had been off just seconds earlier when he almost lost his mental equilibrium, and whatever it was, it- "Brace yourselves!" Icpalli shouted right before the sound of the warp horde returning could be heard through the streets of the Hive. No order had to be given as all present Blood Jaguars started advancing as one towards their foes.

The Onyaguara (Panthera Tenoceta) is a solitary, opportunistic, stalk-and-ambush predator at the top of the Tenocit food chain, and the Animal most commonly associated with the Blood Jaguars. A compact and well-muscled animal well adapted to Tenocit's Jungles, the Onyaguara is an opportunistic hunter and its diet encompasses at least 87 species, including unfortunate aspirants who happen to be too close to a hungry Onyaguara. An Aspirant who suceeds in escaping one is seen as marked by the Sun Emperor for great things. The Onyaguara has long been a symbol of power and strength to the nobles of Tenocet.

Alright, I wrote a synopsis about where my writefaggotry was supposed to go. Better to leave it to someone else, since I can't tell a story in english. Anyway.

The idea is that Xipet's combar reforms during the cult uprisings were adopted fully, however his spiritual reforms were met with iron resistance from the Head Librarian Icpalli, who held great influence over the Blood Jaguars. According to him, Xipet was the greatest among warriors, yet his combat reforms had accomplished their purpose: There was literally nothing that spoke of the soundness of Xipet's spiritual ideas. To initiate these reforms in these times of rampant Chaos would be especially foolish and likely to weaken their spiritual defenses against its corruption.

Ocelotl stops Icpalli from coming to the Chapter Master's aid against C'rtez. The Head Librarian confronts the Epistolary who responds by subduing his weakened superior. When it seems that Xipet is about to lose to the Daemon's influence, Ocelotl hurries into the room but does nothing. Xipet sees this and understands: This is the moment where he shows the strength of his spirituality and conviction that their reforms are necessary. Xipet defeats the Daemon Prince but is also taken down in turn. Ocelotl needs Xipet to remain up for at least long enough for someone to witness it – so when Icpalli enters, Ocelotl slams him with Xipet's pain and weariness, knocking out the Head Librarian, who never wakes up again.

Miquiztli, who had broken through and advanced on his own to catch up with Xipet, Ocelotl and Icpalli, witnesses this treachery – and dies for it, becoming the most reviled ”traitor” of Blood Jaguar history as he's post-humously blamed for falling and causing the death of Icpalli. When the main forces arrives at the scene, Xipet is standing with C'rtez's heart raised towards the sky. He collapses before anyone reaches him and is carried away to be put on life support inside a Dreanought. With the battle is over, Xipet joins the heroes of legend, and Ocelotl, now the Head Librarian, starts implementing their revised spiritual practices without being challenged, thus creating the modern Blood Jaguar Space Marine Chapter.

I remember the first time I saw the sun.

I was crawling through a service duct on in the Quauitl hive, when the blood things came for us in the Long Night.
I had been born during the Long Night, and was sure I would die during it, but it was not to be.
I heard the baying of the hounds of the night as they followed me, despite the duct being barely large enough for a ten year like me.

I crawled through the pipe until it reached the skin of the hive pyramid, leaving me stranded on a tier miles above the jungle floor, in the eternal darkness.

As I fled on my hands and feet, both bleeding from the jagged metal, I saw something in the distance, a red light, which should have been too far to see from this distance, from a hive nearly across the entire jungle.

And then, the sky opened, and the darkness went away, and I saw the sun, for the first, and last time, as my eyes burned.

The top of Xolotl shone red with the embers of the setting sun, Itzpapalotl barely noticed it as she reached the top, Mortem Sacco held firm by her arms. Her eyes were fixed upon a figure, a living statue standing in the center of the spire's flat top.
She took a step, hesitantly... and then a second, defiantly, until she stood before him.
"I have walked the Black Road to the Sun, I have followed in the path of the Lord of Light, and I have come to join the Blood Jaguars."

The statue moved its head, its crimson, jewel like eyes focusing upon Itzpapalotl, boring into her soul, and said with a voice like thunder:
"We will not take you."

Itzpapalotl was stunned, silent with disbelief, as the sun sunk ever lower.
"But... I walked the dark road. I followed the rituals, I did everything that was asked... why am I not worthy?" rage and frustration choked her words, but the statue heard anyway.

"It is not your worth that is in question. You have been chosen by another"

A sudden billowing of wind made Itzpapalotl turn, and there, before her, she saw a ghastly figure, in black and red armour, and with a face painted as a skull.

If we need Sisters looking for recruits around the temples, make hunting for initiates part of the training process for the Sisters.

After traditional schooling is finished they get sent out as a traditional squad to work on their survival skills in the forest while looking for more initiates.

Have them drop the armor for the survival training and stick them in an outfit that matches the boogyman idea that has been attached to them. That way even a hiver can hit the temple and not recognize that they are Martyred Heart. Plus, surviving he wild without armor generate some tough-ass sisters.
>>
>>20257038

Itzpapalotl gasped, stepped towards the Blood Jaguar for safety. "No, I do not want to go with her, I want to stand in front of the Sun Emperor, not walk with the Blood Hearts..."

The statue shook his head, a hint of sorrow in his voice. "It is not to be child, it is the lot of the sons of the Emperor to march under his fury, to make his sight clear once more. His daughters have a much more important task. They walk where he cannot see. Extends his sight beyond the darkness. The Sisters of the Martyred Heart may walk in shadow. But they burn with the Emperor's Light."

The Blood Heart steped forward, hand extended. "All who love life, fear death. Help me bring that fear to the Enemies of the Sun."

Itzpapalotl stepped ahead, took the Blood Heart's hand, and walked to face her destiny.
>>
We're obviously failing on word choice and the finer details.
I imagine initiation is a more 'personal' affair, with only one person undergoing it at a time.
That way when they get to a situation, they look into themselves instead of another recruit they met on the way.

This would also mean on the top would be an SoB at the top when a girl is running.
>>

Being caught under the shadow of one is considered an omen of doom. Should one take roost in one of the hive spires the hive is considered cursed unless the eagle is killed with a jetglass blade

>I have walked the Black Road to the Sun
I always loved this expression. Well done.

>>20257046
That's gold.
>>

When I wrote the Dark Road to the Sun I had both the female and male aspirants undergoing the final three Trials; Knowledge, Faith and Strength. Do we still want that to occur, or do only the male aspirants go through that? Also if there's changes to the sections I wrote (Homeworld, Fortress Monastary, The Long Night and the Coming of C'rtez) that people want, please let me know. I'm usually asleep when the threads are running hot.

Zilpotl Strider: a three meter tall flightless bird with a massive beak and bladelike talons. It is prized for it's green and gold feathers display feathers which it grows only during the mating season, when the strider is most territorial and aggressive.

Bird of Joyous Praise: Covered in brilliant feathers of many colors this bird is known most for the beautiful songs it sings after the sun emerges. Unlike most of the birds hunted for feathers, the BoJP is harmless to humans. It is however highly illusive and killing one is considered a sin.
A hunter must use patience and cunning to safely catch the bird and remove a few choice feathers before releasing it.

Would you mind rewriting my apparently horribly writen section about the scraplootas?
>>
>>20256818
They're all Amazons anyways in the first place.
That said, even with their patterns they should still have symbols of the Ecclesiarchy or Sisterhood somewhere. Perhaps cleverly woven into the patterns.

I saeem to recall the idea that people don't know that boys go to BJags and girls go to the Sisters. If that's still the case, I think we should keep the initiations the same until they reach the Temple.

>>20257350
I thought they were fine...
>>

Both me and him made writeups (mine was based on his, though) that said they both go all the way, though I had mine vague as to the persons gender.
We also haven't really decided our PR for either group at all, just "this might work"s.

And someone thinks HOW I wrote it is atrocious. They even left a comment right on the main page.
I do agree it's not the best writing.

I say this is the 'canon' recruitment method, just because it gives them a choice. They can always walk away, should they deny their destiny as a martyred heart. It gives the end result more weight, so to speak.
>>
>>20257537
Why would they be unable to walk away when they see a SoB on top of the tower instead of a BJag?
Y'know, the method that doesn't involve sudden shock and covincing a person in shock to do something?
>>
Threads like this remind me why I love /tg/ so much.

And the best part is, quality threads are not uncommon here...
>>
>>20257631
>Why would they be unable to walk away when they see a SoB on top of the tower instead of a BJag?
The other method had SoBs waylaying them and abducting them. This one, shocked as they may be, they still have a choice and they still go through the exact same trials as the BJags.
>>
>>20257697
No it doesn't and it never did.
The one you want actually cuts out the Mortem Sacco part.

The one I want replaces the person on top of the old hive with a member of the martyred hearts when a girl is doing the initiation.
That is literally the only difference i want between the male and female versions of the initiation.
>>
>>20257858
Actually, I was intending for the only difference between the initiation would be who they went with, the Mortum Sacco ingestion would still occur.
The reason for the space marine to be standing there in the sun, would be ritual. The Marine guards the day, the Sister guards the night. When someone of the other destiny appears, they are made to wait for the changing of the guardian.

That seem fair? I fully admit it wasn't well written, being done at around 5AM. I should really get some sleep soonish.
>>
>>20257858
>No it doesn't and it never did.
>The one you want actually cuts out the Mortem Sacco part.
Seeing as I disagree with/didn't mean to imply either of these statements, I'm just going to step back here and say I agree with you.
>>
Well if the woman doesn't accept training with the sisters, I could see the sisters giving them one more chance to join. If they don't, to protect the ritual, she'll be sacrificed as they have no need for cowardice.
>>
Glad to see my input on the wiki page went well.

Has anyone made a page for the writefaggotry yet? Someone should vomit the art up on there, too. What's left to work on?
>>
>>20257974
You specifically said you thought mine involved abducting them.
You literally word for word specifically stated that was your belief.

And I don't like the idea of one being a bastion of good and the other being a night terror. Both would want to be close to emps and no matter how much the BJags have the martyred hearts under their thumb that will be true.

Are you a victim of misogyny, by chance? Because you're really just trying to nerf them and make them evil and scary.

YES I REALIZE IM GETTING OFF TOPIC AND HITTING AD HOMINID.
>>
>>20258174
>You specifically said you thought mine involved abducting them.
No, not yours. The Inquisitor With No Name's. Like I said in the last post, this whole mess is a massive miscommunication that you're angsty as fuck over.
>Are you a victim of misogyny, by chance? Because you're really just trying to nerf them and make them evil and scary.
Haha, hooooly shit. I'm just gonna turn 360 degrees and not even touch this one. Have fun with...whatever is going on here now.
>>
>>20258174
>Because you're really just trying to nerf them and make them evil and scary.
With all due respect, no one is trying to nerf them. At least, not that I can see.

>the other being a night terror
THEY aren't a night terror. The thing ACTIVELY HUNTING DOWN and HARRYING the girls brave enough to try the Black Road are. And they have to be otherwise the secret is out.

>>20258169
No page that I can see. Something more concrete for the Sisters would be nice, some maps... More fluff, heh. I swear, are there no tables for the generation of Sister temples?
>>
It's fucking 143am here. I don't think I should be legally allowed to stay up this late for at least the next month.
I'm going to bed before I do anything worse than mention misogyny. Which I already did, so fuck you brain.
Some things are better kept in your brain.
It's also easier to keep things in your brain when your not tired.

Yeah, so night all.

Nobodies has really mentioned vehicles. Anyone have ideas? I can't see most metal boxes working very well in a jungle environment, so other than Dreadnoughts what fits? Maybe Sentinel variants if there are any rules to allow SM to use them.

Also, someone needs to draw the Venerable Chapter Master.

Thinking of doing some writefagging for the Blood Jaguars, focused on a Catachan squad being used by the Inquisition to spy on the Jaguars, but they get fucked up by a Jaguar turned heretic. This Heretic Jaguar is also aligned to Malal. He slowly picks off the squad and fucks with them till the last two soldiers are pointing guns at each other.

Just asking because 1. This thread is looking a bit too large and 2. I want to ask if we're still going to use Malal as their main Chaos enemy.
>>
Saw this on Deviantart. I know it's not what we're going for but might be good inspiration for more Mayan-inspired heretic BJags.
>>
>>20258465

The Jaguars lost most of their vehicles during the Long Night. Given that their tactics since then are more focused on infantry, I'd imagine that their vehicles might tend towards air transportation. The Land Speeder varient for Scouts could work as well, infiltrating them behind enemy lines so they can get up close and personal.

Of course, it's quite fitting for the Jaguars to be deficient in vehicles, since the Aztecs had no draught animals or cavalry.
>>
>>20258519

I see "Hummingbirds" as a Valkyrie pattern. A smaller, lighter version somewhat similar to a Huey or those VTOLs in Avatar.

Since the LOLFLAMERS approach is fuckin' retarded with jungles all around I was thinking of giving the Hearts something that would be more sensible for the jungle as well as reference south America.

Namely, I'm thinking that high-speed needlers/flechette riffles would serve well here, especially if they'd use some sort of fast acting poison or fungus spore.

Hell, maybe earning your weapon IS tied to being able to use a regular blowpipe well.

Other gear would include lots of thin steel wire, grappling hooks and other things needed to spew pure hatred down onto unsuspecting cultist scum.

Goddamn I haven't bought anything from gw in over 10 years but looking at these guys really makes me want to start buying some space marines and green stuffing the shit out of them

Just gonna try to come up with some combat methods of theirs. Starting with jungle warfare.

Okay, we've already established that they grow and/or squigs and squiggoths if they can. Squiggoths might be overkill, and even impossible, but anyway, squigs at least. And they plant devices in their heads to sent them into rage or panic at their command through special frequencies. These are then planted into the jungles for the orks to find and integrate into their society, allowing the Jaguars to create confusion in later battles.

Battlefield sacrifices is probably a method of theirs. Two or more Jaguars overpower an enemy, lift him high and just saw open his entire upper body while he's still alive, where it can be seen and heard by his allies. I imagine the Death Company would add some improvised cannibalism as well. The bodies are then tossed into the enemy ranks. Perhaps do the same with burning enemies?
>>
>>20251645
Is this the Death Company?
>>
>>20260772
>Okay, we've already established that they grow and/or squigs and squiggoths if they can.
What. That's ridiculous.
>>
>>20260800
Not if you consider that they have plenty of captured orcs and fight against them in the wild regularly. Maybe not grow squigs from scratch, but capturing them in a raid is hardly... I'm trying to think of something that sounds ridiculous even in 40K. Anyway, live captures is a regular part of their m.o., as they have always a supply of orks to be sacrificed on the altar or in gladiatorial combat.
>>
>>20260829
There are plenty of Orks in their homeworlds wild to fight against as is. Any captures should be straight to the sacrificial altar IMO, even better if you have to invoke imagery of hundreds of prisoners being led in a line to an altar. I know you're probably trying to invoke the Flower Wars but that's pointless when they've already been captured, and there's no lack of enemies anyway.

And I fail to see how all this has already been established, it's not on the wiki and I don't recall reading it in any thread.
>>
>>20260884
It's been in threads 2 and 3. Also, captured orks are mainly for neophytes, as it's a better idea for a small Chapter to have their up-and-coming Jaguars become used to their primary enemies before they engage them in real battle, where said enemies are better equipped and numerically superior. The Blood Jaguars has enough against them to go to lengths not to lose people needlessly. And it's not like the orks live two hours' walk away. Or at least so I hope, because that makes absolutely no sense. But trudging through the jungle for days with ork prisoners every time they want a sacrifice, which is like most of the time, sounds strange as well.
>>
Treetop ambushes. Some SoBs and BJags (and maybe neophytes) use crossbows to shoot ropes between treetops so they can move around up there. With sufficient camouflage they could easily drop bombs or le- hang on, now.
What about some kind of thrown markers? For example, the leading ork of a horde shows himself, and half a dozen Jaguars throw some form of device that sends up signal that reaches over the treetops. Thus the ambushes among the treetops knows just about where the big boss is, and can, if close enough, use hang-gliders or jump ropes or whatever to leap down from above and land in the thick of the enemy hordes, quite possibly close enough to the boss ork to take him out before they're overwhelmed.
>>
>>20260923
You can't really take orks hostage though
They either die in combat or you cut off all their limbs so that they stop trying to fight you because they are just that bloody minded
>>
Regarding the high oxygen content in the planet's atmosphere; shouldn't this mean that the jungle is constantly wrecked by forest fires due to everything burning much easier?

Maybe something to keep in mind when writefagging?

Maybe the jungle is constantly burning down and then regrowing just as quickly?
