Cool.So anyone think of personalities for that hidden d20?
DarknessYour ears ring and you can feel yourself moving. Somethings off, you're not walking. You open your eyes, Tech armor is down, your entire body aches. You're over someones shoulder, matte black armor."Luke?" you mutterYou look up and see Oolot blocking volleys of fire, he has the ML-77 drawn, you see it launch and impact the end of the hallway. You see the edge of the docking tube pass beneath you. You're gliding back over to your ship. You go out again.>You are Rox OolotSam (or Bob as he's going by now) is down, the captain of their ship must have set a pretty cunning trap with some explosive canisters. Luke is getting Sam out of here but what's left of the crew seems to be trying to push you back off the ship. You fall back firing a missle. Their fire stops.Your suit is breached but the seal system seems to be working ok. you can feel your left thigh go numb from the cold of space. You are a Krogan, you won't die so easily, these pirates will pay for their deception.[ ] Charge any survivors[ ] Retreat with Luke[ ] Stand your ground[ ] Other
Sorry about the delay, had a posting error I had to resolve.
>>20387060Retreat with luke! We will blow the ship out of space when we get back to the ship.
You decide retreat is the best option when facing an unknown number of attackers, Once you're back in the ship you'll blow it out of the void. You get to the tube and Luke sees you inbound, he takes a covering position as you reach the airlock."Switch! We need the airlocked closed now! Have Rin spin up the guns, reduce that ship to scrap!""Roger, where's Bob?" he asks"He's out, we were ambushed, Luke and I are holding the airlock but we need to get out of here NOW!" you roar over the com.The door seals and you feel the ship pulling away, as the room repressurizes, you can hear the guns spinning up."Target aquired" you hear Rin mutter over the com. After 30 seconds of fire you hear Rin confirm the kill. Their ship is being pulled into the gravity well, so much for salvage...You and Luke do your best to get him to the medbay where Switch is already waiting. He starts work immediately, he confirms there are no punctures amazingly but you took a hell of a concussion, a cracked rib and a nice goose egg from where you hit the wall.
>>20387238So was Bob spaced?
>>20387254>Bob/Sam is fine minus a few force related injuries, you didn't get exposed to vacuum. Oolot did slightly but Krogan have lived through far worse, minimal blood loss, it flash froze. Switch is confident he can fix him up.You awake to bright medical lights in your face."Welcome back Captain Bob" a salarian stands over you and is running his Omni-tool over you, "I wouldn't move too much, you're pretty banged up. We're headed back to Benning to see Mr. Harper and report our success. We figured that was the course of action you would prefer. We're a couple jumps out, unless you have other orders I would recommend resting." he finishes hooking you up to an IV.[ ] Pass out[ ] Orders?[ ] Bob?
>>20387334Who is this bob person?
>>20387346"Just one question doc, who's Bob?" you askHe is silent for a moment..."Oh..." he mutters"Tell whoever is left to ready up, we're going after them..." you mutter"After who?" he asks"After them, don't let any one of them escape..."The world dissolves"Lieutenant, we can't! We don't have the men left!" Sergeant Corey reports to you holding his left shoulder, bleeding from underneath the pauldron. "That's an order sergeant, not one is to escape. I don't care what it costs us, if even one escapes he'll kill 10 more. The mathematics of the situation is clear." you say"I won't order my men to their deaths!" He growlsYou turn grabbing his throat and putting a gun to his head."You will or I will, they will march forward and we will end this once and for all, do you understand sergeant, I will not tolerate insubordination."He shakes and clicks his com on, "All units forward, run them down."You smile and activate your tech armor, you advance on the corridor where the men are currently fighting, they keep trying to advance but are only keep being rebuffed by the pirate defenders. A man with a missile launcher spins out and is riddle with slugs before he can fire, his armor coming apart at the seams as bullets cut him to ribbons. You hook your foot under the launcher and kick it up into your hand. Bullets plink off your tech armor and you see how terrified the enemy is, you fire the rocket and see them blown to pieces as the overpressure hits you.You see the light again."HE'S SEIZING! OOLOT I NEED YOU IN HERE NOW! HOLD HIM DOWN" Switch yells down the corridorYou feel huge hands holding you in place and ice water in your veins before you lose consciousness.
>>20387567SO...torfan really fucked us up huh?
>>20387567>You are SwitchYou managed to give a sedative to Bob before it got too bad. Delusion brought on by his concussions? You get the feeling Oolot knows more than he's telling. You'd done business with Bob discreetly ever since he'd arrived on Omega. The information he wanted put you at risk as well but his money was good and he always treated you fairly. When shit hit the fan and he offered safety in exchange for help you really didn't have much choice but to help him, but he's done ok providing so far, you get the feeling he may be a bit mad, but that much was obvious when he wanted to go after Aria. You're cleared to dock on Benning. You sent a message to Mr. Harper the mission is complete however you weren't able to recover any of his cargo. He shouldn't have any more trouble with pirate though. You send him video of the battle and the credits are transferred into your account. Every little bit helps, and your ship wasn't damaged in the least by the encounter. You think a little rest is in order until the captain is back on his feet, maybe you'll go have some lunch with Sushoo.

Nothing, complete blank. This isn't good, you're losing bits of your memory.More and more chunks seem to be missing, a lot of the Alliance stuff was a blur before but you'd always thought it was the drugs they gave you during your stay with the mental ward.Shit, you'll worry about it later.>>20387825On rolls of 6, 7, and 8 you will become Bill, super stand-up guy, I'd advise against lawful, you kind of have a ship full of stolen, military grade hardware. That may not end in a lawful stupid character's favor.>>20387851>>20387802You head to the kitchen, it looks like most of the crew is here.Oolot stands and comes over to help you to a chair. You have a seat at the bar with Switch, Sushoo, Rin, and Oolot.Sushoo sits a plate of rice, chicken and noodles in front of you. Cooked to absolute perfection as always."How are you doing?" Switch asks shining a pen light in your eyes trying to check your pupils>Freeform conversation

So we made 2,500. I imagine ammo set us back a little and of course supplies, so around 2k?" you ask"Something like that..." Switch replies taking in another mouthful."We divided it up a little already. I gave Sushoo his pay, Rin and Luke their cut and between you, Switch and I have 1000 left." Volkov raises his towards you, "So, what do you say?"[ ] Who the hell is Cerberus and why should I care[ ] Who the fuck is GI Joe and why can't you kill him yourself[ ] You never did explain who she is and how she plays into any of this besides being attractive enough to get my attention.[ ] Other
>>20391915[X] Who the hell is Cerberus and why should I care[X] Who the fuck is GI Joe and why can't you kill him yourself
>>20391915>N1-7>VanguardNaw dude naw. We'd like to live.
>>20391949This.Besides, how would killing an Alliance commando benefit humanity?
>>20391941>>20391949"We're the future of humanity my friend the puppeteers behind major change in the galaxy. I could list our accomplishments but you'd never believe me, I'd show you but it'd take too long. So instead how about this, let me make you an offer than should answer both questions. 10 Million credits. We'll pay you 10 Million as long as you can provide irrefutable proof he is dead. We've tried to kill him but it proved, problematic, but we're covert, you have the advantage of being an outside source, one I believe we can trust. It's hard for us to strike outside certain areas, but you're a ghost, you can go anywhere, with no preparation or logistical support. You're free in all the ways we are not." he ends by emptying the rest of his glass
>>2039207910 million creditsGod damn. Let's befriend our mark, make him think we're on his side. Maybe hang out with him a little. Then, when he least expects it, put a bullet in the back of his skull.
>>20392100Nah, lets not get involved with these crazies
>>20392079Those are not real numbers. They don't expect us to return from this mission. We're just cannon fodder being sent to distract the guy from something actually important. On the other hand, if we somehow managed to pull this off, we might have someone to keep Aria's hounds from us. Conversely, if we refuse, they may feel inclined to sell us out...I'd suggest act incompetent. Try to convince them sending us after this death machine would do more harm than good.Let's start by hitting on "Dana".
>>20392062He laughs, "Sometimes you've got to cut the mold off the cheese. We offered him the same opportunity, he turned us down. But he took it too far, he destroyed our assets, he killed our men, and he tried to kill me." he slams his fists into the table.>Roll a d20"And that, is not, acceptable... I know I ask a lot, but hey, at least I'm not calling in a favor, I'm offering you a job. I got you out of that hospital and put you on the right track and never asked for not one thing in return. I think I'm being extremely fair here but offering you an opportunity."
rolled 10 = 10>>20392166Oh shit.
>>20392166I'm going to need details and, depending on how dangerous this guy is, better gear. I want a dossier on him though. I want to know how he thinks, what his favorite drink is, what his tells for lying are, etc.
>>20392166Is there a knife anywhere?
>>20392166You ask too much. You took me out of hospital, not raised me from a grave. And even if you did, this would have been very tall order. Ten million? You could pay all three terminus merc groups three times over with that kind of money.I'm afraid I'll have to find a different way to repay the debt I owe you.
>>20392176Biotics, you can feel it when he hits the table, your amp tingles in your head. He's strong, you don't think you could take him if it came to a biotic battle, hopefully your tech powers would give you the edge but you can't be sure.>>20392201All the information we have I can forward to you, we know quite a bit about Mr. Rennick.>>20392211In your hand already
>>20392286Simple. Just overload his biotic amp and throw him out a window.Or use him as a sheild.
>>20392249"Oh, those guys you took apart on Omega like they were toddlers? Yes, I'm sure hiring them is right at the top of my list. Look I know you're suspicious, hell I would be, but I ask nothing I don't think is within your ability to do so. What would it take for you to do it? Not money? Name it. There aren't many soldiers of our caliber in this galaxy Michael, you know that better than anyone." he says cutting into his steak once again
>>20392317Just say no and leave. We really don't need this in our lives right now.
>>20392317A nice cruiser or frigate with some good weapons, a medic, and some other misc stuff.
>>20392374Anyone wanna second the working for Cerberus vote?
>>20392317That is very flattering, but I know I'm not immortal. And judging by the numbers you are throwing around this is something too world-changing for me to get involved. So thank you, but no, thank you.Thank you for the dinner. I will have to compensate you for your generosity in another way than assasination.(prepare to envelop yourself in warp energies, just in case...)
>>20392317"Okay, I'll do it. All I'd have to do is earn his trust and then when he's not expecting it vent his ship to space and destroy the escape pods as they launch. No problem. Here is what I want in return. I want two million credits up front. I intend on using this for luring in crew and perhaps upgrading my ship, or buying a new one. On completion of the mission I want a first class, top of the line, military grade frigate. Fully armed and armored, and ready to fly. Sound like a deal?"
>>20392416>>20392412>>20392417Wanna take 10 think on the offer gentlemen? Debate a little bit. Btw if it helps with decision making I'm running this as an alt universe, the reapers are still a while from our doorstep and just because it happened in the game doesn't mean it's going to happen here the same way.
>>20392457Okay lets have a debate
>>20392403No.It's enough to have Aria's goons on lookout for us. Taking this saucy offer would result in making either an N agent and the Alliance OR the Cerberus our enemy. Where would we hide then? With Migrant Fleet? Ardat-yakshi monastery? on Kahje?
Cerberus makes Weyland-Yutani look like the very model of workplace safety.I'd rather stay as far away from them as possible.
>>20392486I agree, fuck cerberus.
>>20392494they even have similar color scheme
>>20392526And come to think of it, for a supposedly covert organization, Cerberus seems to really love stamping that logo on everything they've got.
>>20392566That's the logo for Cord-Hislop, not Cerberus. Unless you explicitly know about Cerberus, you figure it's just Cord-Hislop aerospaces.
>>20392566God I hate that logo.
>>20392592Making me wonder why no one said anything about Dana working for Cord-Hislop
You guys are letting preconceptions color your ideas about Cerberus. Besides, if Cerberus was good enough for Commander Shepard, Cerberus is good enough for us!
>>20392594Personally, I hate the color scheme more. Orange is a shit tier color.
>>20392592Huh? Where did you get that? One of the books?
>>20392486>samefag hereI'm doing my best to not be meta about it. (if I weren't, I'd have told the man to fuck himself with a cactus)but in favour of accepting the job goes:1) Money. That's a lot of bottlecaps.2) We owe him.3) He might be a dangerous enemy if we refusedAand... that's about it.Against1) He's asking us to assasinate an alliance elite commando, for God's sake.2) He's managed to piss said commando so badly somehow that he tried to kill him back.3) Money. That's a lot of bottlecaps and not something anyone would part with willingly (I'm also samefag with >>20392146 )I'd say the tradeoff is not worth it. We should continue as freelancer, not align ourselves with shady group we know nothing about, except that it's fighting Alliance commandos.
>>20392612I did, but deleted the post immediately. Was too meta.
So it's looking like most are wanting to tell Volkov to go jump off a bridge.
>>20392625Go back to lab, Conrad. You need to fix some exploding suns.
>>20392693ALRIGHT I GOT IT.We agree for now and request half the dosh up front. Then when we catch up to BLAST HARDCHEESE we tell him that cerberus hired us to kill him, and we team up with him to kill volkov
Naah, I say we turn him down. It's just not worth the money that they don't expect to pay anyway.
>>20392738this idea has occured to me as well, but 1) we would need to get to MacCheese close enough to tell him 2) cerberus would DEFINITELY go out of its way to kill us with extreme prejudice. If we just walk away now, they MAY refrain from such extreme course of action and perhaps consider hiring us for less extreme engagements.>mfw volkov hires us to protect some random colony that gets attacked by MacCheese and (if we survive) pays us standard caravan guard's salary, grinning and saying "see, he wasn't all that tough"
>>20392738But then Cerberus might send someone to break into our home a eat all our cereal.
Okay so have we come to a consensus?

>>20393096Top of the line weapon, guns, amps, and omni-tools.Half of the bounty up front.and a Elcor butler
>>20393096Well, we're crazy now, so let's say half up front.
>>20393114"I'll do it, but I need guns, armor, top of the line tech and amps, a better ship and an advance. 2.5 million." you say finishing off your meal.He blinks and starts laughing. "I'll tell you what, I can front that, but whatever you need is being taken out of that advance and you can have whatever is left. Deal?" he smiles and 'Dana' looks over to him with a face that says 'Are you being serious right now?'>What say you?
>>20393262"Yarr..." you mutter"I'm sorry?" Dana says looking over at you."Dreaming of how easy piracy will be with a new ship my friend?" he asks relaxing on his side of the booth.
>>20393231Damn it, we should've just asked for the 2.5 million and a top of the line frigate after the job is complete! We're getting shorted.
>>20393384"Heh, you could say that... Anyway when can I expect this delivered?" you ask him."Give me 24 hours, go ahead and send your crew on their way, tell them whatever you want. We know he is going to be on patrol in the Styx Theta cluster and we'd planned to draw him to Nepmos. But I'm curious for your opinion, how do you want to eliminate him?" he asks leaning forward attentively.
>>20393495I am going to gain his trust then stab him in the back
>>20393495Your looking at his new best friend!
>>20393519"How precisely do you plan to do that with him only keeping people he knows and trusts close to him. Not to say you can't I'd just like to know if there is anything I can do to help expedite the plan. That level of of planning sounds like it will take a great deal of time." he mutters
>>20393630WELP I'm out of ideas.Well I have to go watch breaking bad anyways. Good luck anons.
>>20393630"Simple, send some people you don't like in some ships you don't want to ambush him while he's on patrol. I'll happen to be in the area with my ship and the two of us will wipe out the "Filthy pirates" and I'll throw out some bullshit excuse to tag along with him. We'll intermingle, get to know one another, and I'll offer to sign up as a Captain of my vessel, following his orders."
>>20393630Simple you try and kill, and I play the the hero, who pull's his ass out of the fire, you chase for awhile then once he stops and takes a rest and slit his throat, then call you guys to come pick me up, and we kill anyone else who was involved! As for planing no this has to feel as real as possible, if we plan too much of it he figure it out.
>>20393742"That could def work, though I may have to tweak that idea just a little to get the intended effect. I can supply some disposable crew for your ship, that way you won't have to lose anyone you care about in a space battle. Sound good?" he asks
>>20393797"I'd prefer to pick my own men, and women. I imagine you'll be spending at least a million, or 1.5 million of that 2.5 million on my new vessel. I'll have at least one million to spend on any tweaks I find necessary and in getting the crew I want. Although, do feel free to send one of your agents to monitor me, if you feel the need. The way I figure it, I'll need more crew to man my new vessel anyway, so I might as well hire them now while my core crew is off doing their own thing."
>>20393847"Heh, and if you're unsuccessful you've just put your entire crew in harms way, are you ok with that? Personally if it was me I would go for disposable but it's your call."
>>20393922"I haven't put my entire crew in harms way, I've put the newbies in harms way. Trial by fire, if you will. Besides, nothing builds bonds like going into combat together."
>>20393970"Tell you what then, just forget the mission you've signed up for then. We'll just send some of our paramilitary guys in your place to cover your ass with Mr. Harper and Mr. Hayes. Get your ship ready and head out to the Erebus system. We'll send one of our stealth shuttles to handle monitoring and communications with you. We'll ping you when the fire starts." He stands, "Well, I suppose that will be all, he turns up his Omni-tool. Here's 2 million, do whatever you want to your ship. I'll have the gear sent over, we've got some nice new L4 implants for you to try out and the Skunkworks is always happy to oblige with firepower. I bid you a good day Michael, and good luck though I doubt you'll need it. If you would let Ms. Chambers out would you?" he asks standing up and pulling the curtains apart. He makes a hand gesture and the rest of the diner's in the section push back their plates and stand to leave. They were all...shit you dodged a bullet.Hmmm...>roll a d20+5
>>20393970Maybe toss a "Besides, I don't intend to give him time to shoot back. It is highly inefficient to have the shields up at all times, and once he drops them, some well placed shots in the engine will cut the power to his vessel."
rolled 19 + 5 = 24>>20394044

>>20394278Yeah, definitely tell the truth to our crew. Our crew is the one group of people we don't bullshit.>>20394251Do we have enough time to buy that new ship and hire that new crew? Basically, can we start spending that two million now or do we have to wait?
>>20394278>>20394340You decide honesty will be the best policy, you think they'll all be down for the idea. You get back to the ship and get on board. Most of the crew has hit the bunk for the night. >>20394547Second, ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!
>>20394548Do not inform them of the backstab.I mean the real backstab
>>20394522Definitely all of the above. Can we upgrade our shielding at all? What about a electronic warfare suite (So we can take out their navigation and controls and whatnot)? Ablative armor, to deflect any laser weaponry? Come on, more!
>>20394548So wait, we're not actually killing the commando? I had no idea! Okay, that changes things then... But yeah, I still say we get everything and more.
>>20394575You put in for all the upgrades, the funds have already cleared. They'll begin work immediately. >Go ahead and awake the crew?>Also to clarify you aren't telling them you're backstabbing Cerberus?
>>20394640Yea lets wait on the whole back stabbing plot.Wait till we get to a section of dead space away from any Cerberus, THEN we will tell them the whole plan.

Finally! My internet is back!"N level operatives are not untouchable gods. This man is a powerful biotic, he's experienced, and he's exceptional by Aliance standards. You know what I bet he isn't? Inventive. Capable of thinking on his feet, and I'm almost certain he's not immune to the vacuum of space. Believe me, we have a great equalizing factor here. We have a ship that in, ooh, about twelve hours will be able to annihilate an Alliance frigate with only moderate difficulty in a 1-on-1, head on battle. We don't intend to take them on head on. We earn his trust, and then turn on him. Everything is set up for us. All we have to do is play this right and eight million credits are ours for the taking."
