"We're doing science. Would you like to join in?"
"Science? Ve love science! Are you vorking on aeronautics?"
"Lift und drag?" they ask
"Well no... We're working on data manipulations." Susan tells them.
"Ve haff no idea vat that is."

"Well.. hmnnn what can you two do?" you ask them

"You ask vat ve can do?" the two ask with raised eyebrows.
"Ve can do this."
Above them, some form of portal opens up, and through it flies a massive armored airship.
"Zis is the air superiority platform, GIGANT." Ferdinand tells you, as you stare up in disbelief at the huge airship bristling with cannons.
"Oh yeah, ve just blew your minds ja?" Paul asks as his rotund body shakes in mirth.

That actually raises an interesting question. If we made them german, are they just stereotypes?

Where do we pull the personalities from? Do we just make them outright? If that's the case, they should know no more about something than we do.

"can we check it out?" you ask them
"Ja. Come on aboard." they answer
"Ve give you grand tour."

You fly up to the ship on saucers and land yourselves on the wide deck on top.
Looking around, you estimate the number of cannons to be around 2 dozen, not including the large turrets on the thing's superstructure.

"Ve put everyzing ve know into this."
"State of ze art. Master of ze skies." the two tell you as they lead you inside.

The ship, one with a large central bladder for lift, had all of the other structures built around on the outside.

You find everything you might expect from a modern warship, cabins, radio rooms, gun batteries, etc.

Towards the back, where a trio of huge engines propelled the craft, there were a couple of strange folded up craft lashed onto the deck.

"what are these?" you ask them
"Scouts und fighters. There is 10 of them here."
"Cool."

The two take you to the bridge, where instead of 1, there were 2 wheels side by side.
"She is very finnky to fly." Paul tells you
"Needs 2 helmsmen at all times when flying at full power." Ferdinand adds.
"Awesome..."

"I can't help but feel that something is a bit off here." you say to which Susan nods.
She turns to Paul and asks, "What's the catch?"
"Ja, zer are some limitations." he answers her.
"First, Gigant can't be called if ve four are not in close proximity." Ferdinand explains.
"Second, Gigant, though able to maintain form while not in combat indefinitely, can only fire off 3 volleys from its guns before it drains the two of you too much to maintain its shape." Paul continues.
"Gigant's cruising speed is 50mph. You can push it with ze afterburners but zat also will drain you. Maximum burst of 150mph for 15 minutes."
"Finally, for Gigant to maintain it's form, atleast one of you two, and one of us, should be in it's vicinity or on it."

"Those limitations seem reasonable enough." you comment as you place a hand on one of the wheels."
"You know Ursula and Erica will love the shit out of this thing."
"Don't I know it."

The simulation ends, and you find yourselves back in the lab.
Stahls, still in his female form, is seated at the console from which he was watching your earlier.
"Well, I think I know how you're doing it, but to prove it concretely, I want to try something in the real world."

"Number 542, Number 320, front and center." she says as she taps the floor with her foot.
A small trapdoor opens and a pair of gerbils crawl out and salute him.
"Get on the table," he commands the rodents, "We need test subjects."

"okay you to," he says as he now turns to you. "I want you to try and 'hack' these two. They're real animals, super-intelligent, but still real, I want to see if you can do to them what you can do to simulated beasts."

"proves what?" you ask her.
"well.. After looking back on all the data the Bureau has on your previous... tamings, and observing you today, I conclude that your powers, as convenient as they may seem, are actually pretty low-teir as far as data manipulators are concerned."

"Take the Director for example. She's one of the highest class of manipulators. She's actually in a league of her own. She can affect the real with just a single thought, rewrite history, even think you out of existence. Then there's the more mid-tier manipulators. Those that can do simple stuff in the real. You two, You two are low-tier."

"You can only affect simple constructs that are made out of pure data. You can't alter the real world's "data". You can only do it if you have something to focus on, hence the hats."

"You managed to alter the data of a construct that was a bit complex, that girl, but it wasn't a full complete alteration, you just bound her to you. Your complete alterations expand the basic program's parameters and adds a personality that you generate subconsciously. Your familiars are basically spells that you made from copied and edited data from simulations."

"They drain you like any other spells can, I know you already know that, but that airship you two generated is very interesting. It's bound to the two of you, not just one. And you two share the majaikal load."

"How can we improve?" Susan asks him.
"Well.. you practice. Now I have no idea what you'd need to actually get better, but a couple of weeks in a simulator should help. As for taking your powers and using them in the real, I also have no idea."
"Can our majaik drain be reduced in anyway?" you ask him.
"You could use a battery, or a juice converter... No wait. You won't have access to those yet. Scratch that. I guess you could build-up your reserves. Your handlers should have been doing that since day one." she answers. "any more questions?"

You have no idea what came over you, but you thought you could seduce your way out of prison.
Your guards were bulky goons dressed in body armor and they never said a word.
Their boss was an old crotchety woman that was as much of a sadist as she was a reanimated mummy.

You tried your best to get to her, to even get a little leeway, maybe steal a knife or a pen you could use to escape with.
But the more you tried and talked, the tighter the security became.
Three days you tried, three hungry days where your only source of nutrient was moss on the walls of that damp cell.
No windows, no bars, just a solid iron door and cold meter thick walls.

You failed. You were so disheartened by this that didn't even attempt to escape as they took you to the chopping block and the ax plummeted towards your neck.

Apparently only the upper echelons of the Bureau are supposed to be Meta-Aware.
The rank-and-file are supposed to believe in the convenient lie of Multiversal Theory and alternate Dimensions.

We think that when an operative becomes Meta-Aware, it's a one-way ticket either to Management or to a mind-wipe.

>>
>>20397643
Not if we keep our big mouths shut.
>>
>>20397628
Not necessarily.
But what it does do is put you on the radar of some very scary people.
Fortunately, the Bureau has treaties with the TSAB and the Transpace Guard, so you won't have to worry about a Sector Task Force, Dimensional Navy battle squadron, or Editor Hit Team coming for us.
However, the TG Black Ops wetwork team might still come after us, there's the Combine and the G-Man who's always on the lookout for new prospective employees. We probably don't have anything the ATN or the Closers want, so those two are hopefully not interested. The UPW is isolationist so they're probably not a concern.

Q is always a concern, however.
>>
>>20397643
But since that got posted in the thread we are now meta aware that our meta-awareness will lead us to be mindwiped, so we just have to meta-hide our meta-awareness from ourselves.

...Oh my god...
Is this the plan that Future-hayate is carrying out?

With the girls all together, you and Susan tell them what you've learned from Dr.Stahl's testing.
"So you can't do real world stuff?" Perrinne asks you
"Not yet no." you tell her optimistically
"We just need the practice." Susan adds.

"oh by the way, we made new friends today." You pull out Ferdinand's beanie as Susan pull's out Paul's.

After introducing the family to the two manatees.
You have them show off the Gigant.

Ursula fell in-love with the thing at first sight.
She was like a kid in a candy store when you got on board.
"This shoudn't even be able to fly!" She comments in disbelief as the two take the family to the bridge.
"Majaik." Susan answers off-handedly.

"Can you whip me up some sort of Sky-Pirate attire?" you ask Kraus.
"YOU GOT IT WING-NUTS."

A quick transformation later and you find yourself in a white dress, a leather corset, highheeled boots and leggings held up by garter-belts.
"What? Kraus, man, not cool."
"DON'T LOOK AT ME BUTTPLUNDERER. I TRIED TO MAKE YOU A FUCKING COAT AND VEST, THIS IS WHAT CAME OUT."
"Papa... you look funny." Alice says as she tugs at one of your gloved hands.
"yeah, I know darling, let me just get back to normal." you tell her as you deactivate the clothing program.
"I GUESS YOU STILL CANT GET OVER YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS DESIRE TO CROSS-DRESS YOU FRUIT." Kraus tells you.
"... Just, just look into the problem Kraus, please."
"YA GOT IT DICKWAD."

You turn back to your daughter, and ask the little blonde how her afternoon went.
"I met Mister Rood. He's funny. And then Mama Ursula blew up, and it was also funny."
Ursula fidgets a few meters away.
"Did you have fun then?"
"Yes!"
"great." you tell her with a pat on her head.

After a bout an hour more of exploring the airship and flying it around the tower, even discovering that the Landraider fit on deck and even had space to drive around on, you and the girls get ready head out to Shinji's for therapy.

You decide that it would be for the best to leave Alice with Yuki.
You wouldn't want to expose them to your... background before they're even prepared for it.

"Sure." you tell Yuki, "I'll leave the guys here to keep you two company."
You bring out all of your familiars and ask them to watch over the house and the two.

---------------------------------------------------------------
Arriving at Shinji's he let's your large group into his office.
As expected, there's too many of you for just the few chairs he had there and you stand around awkwardly trying to figure out how to fit everyone in.
"Oh. wait. Let me take care of that." Shinji says as he closes the door behind you.
he activates a simulator that worked like Mike's did and turns his office into a large patio overlooking the sea.
There, on the wooden deck, nice wide couches were ready to receive you and your family.

"So..." Shinji begins after everyone settles themselves in. "Girls, if you don't mind me asking, what exactly do you see in him?"
