You find yourself in a familiar room.
One you thought you'd seen the last of a few weeks ago.

It's your abandoned apartment, the very same empty apartment you hid for two months in to avoid your organs from becoming the next thing on the blackmarket.

There, leaning against the wall near the doorway was your bike.
The very same bike that should be at the house right now.
The windows, much like you left them, are still covered with burlap and cardboard to prevent anyone from looking in.
The futon, deprived of sunlight, still that damp musty scent.

You're back. And just as The Dude said, you have to break out.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

>*in case of 'mysterious circumstances' we jump to our designated lifeboat.*
>>
Well is the ceiling like solid or like that weird thing where it's foam rectangles that can be pushed up?
>>
>>20501530
Search the FUCK out of our room.
>>
>>20501564
The ceiling is a slab of concrete.
>>
>>20501581
In that case, Im pretty sure Hayate has a 2nd floor apartment, can we go through the window like before?
>>
Check the closet where we hide our stuff. I want to know what else is here.

Also, inventory, and check rules for "escape"
Escape the room? Town? Dimension? Evil Clone of our parents? Our actual parents?

You search your room.
Again, there's not much to look at or look for.
The closet, still almost empty, only contained an extra pair of ragged jeans, a couple of shirts and your old jacket.
The kitchen was as bare as ever with only the empty tea container and half full bottle of soy sauce in the cupboard.
The small bathroom is clean as you left it the all-purpose bar of laundry soap on the sink.

You check your own inventory, your pockets were empty, your folio missing.
Kraus is not on your person and is unreacheable.

WAT DO?
>>
>>20501754
Check the pockets of our other jeans and our jacket.

Then check the front door, and all the windows.
>>
>>20501754
Take the soy sauce, test the door.
>>
>>20501754
Search our hiding spots for hidden money. We should have had some hidden as a safety net so we could run from Yakuza at any moment.

Then check outside the windows.
>>
Anyone know if soy sauce is similar to vinegar?
I know you can make a small explosive with vinegar, laundry detergent and baking soda.
>>
>>20501869

Vinegar is very variable in composition. All it has to be is ~4% acetic acid, and ~96% other ingredients (usually spices and other flavorful ingredients) to qualify. I'm fairly sure that soy sauce doesn't contain acetic acid; mostly stuff that you'd find in tofu and soybeans, plus some spices.

Look for a container. If we need to go for the long haul, might as well find some stuff we can put our meager belongings in.
>>
>>20501786
>>20501832
You go over your clothes in the closet.
The jeans' pockets were empty, but the jacket netted you 230 yen and that yellow scarf you got from Nishizawa.
'Dammit. So that's where it was!' you think as you wrap it around your neck, making a note of retrieving it when you got back to your resort in the real.

You then head over to a corner of the room and lift the tatami to access your stash of emergency funds.
5000 yen. Not much, but it's all you had hidden.

You peer out the windows, it's cloudy out.
The outside seemed normal enough other than that though.

WAT DO?
>>
Think about how fucking creepy it is that they know everything about where we lived before we joined up with them.
>>
>>20502079
Go out through the window. You just know the door is rigged with some crazy shit.
>>

>>20502079
You taste the door. It tastes like old wood.
The windows taste like glass and mildew.

After a weird awkward moment of realizing that you actually meant to TEST them rather then TASTE them, you try to open the door.
The knob, as fiddly as ever takes 2 tries to open.
You cautiously head out into the hallway and down the stairs.

As you saw before, it was cloudy outside with a moderate breeze blowing in from the east.
The road was empty save for the random taxi or trucking passing by every minute or so.

You have no idea what The Dude meant by "breaking out" You are unsure what you need to accomplish to get out of this simulation.

ANY IDEAS?
>>
>>20502278
. . . Maybe he's testing our reality simulation powers.

We need to find a hat.

You decide that your best bet would be to try and make contact with Bureau personnel.
You first head down the street to the park where you met Mike.

It's empty as expected what with the time being somewhere after lunch.
The junglegym where you first saw the little monkey was still there.
The line of trees you blew up restored like it was after you first used Kraus.

looking around, you don't find nor feel anything strange.

You search the park a bit more thoroughly.
Though not huge or lush, this park was still pretty well maintained, and clean.

The equipment always are in top shape, the paths swept.
Not a trace of litter or dirt anywhere.
It's a very normal, very clean park.

As you climbed the tubes that comprised the jungle gym to seat yourself up top, you found something.
There, scratched into the paint near where Mike was a seated on that fateful day, was the phrase STOPP DANCINNG.
The badly spelled words seemed to have been made with a nail or a knife, possibly the work of some bored delinquent.

As you sat atop the dome of tubing, trying to figure out what to do now, someone calls out to you form the street.

As you pedaled away, a streak of white and blue, the confused cop could only shake his head and comment,
"Kids and their drugs."

It takes all of your self control to resist kicking the smug look off his face and barging into the house to look for Tama.

"maria-san, this pauper here-" The SP tries to answer before you cut him off.
"Lady Nagi once gave me the chance to become a butler here if I wanted to. I would very much like to accept. Could you please escort me to her?"
"You know Nagi? We do need a butler, though, so I guess you have that correct."
She turns to the SPs, and orders them to leave you alone and let her handle the rest.
"But Maria-san! We can't leave you alone with him! Who knows what he'll do to you! You're our shining idol after-" She gives the bald man a look that leaves him at a loss for words.

The black suited men slink off to dissapear behind the trees once more.

"So, what's your name?" Maria asks you as she leads you inside.
"Hayate. Ayasaki Hayate."
"And where did you meet Nagi, Hayate-kun?"
"I met her in town a few some time ago."
"I see... And you say she offered you a position as our house's butler?"
"Yes."

She leads you through the strangely familiar large house, down the wide hallways to a large room that was primarily occupied by a huge TV and a small blonde girl playing a game on it.

"Nagi. You have a guest." Maria tells the girl.
"Just tell Sakuya to leave, I'm in no mood for her jokes today." she answers, eyes glued to the screen.
"No Nagi, he says his name is Hayate and he wants to apply as our butler."
"hayate? Who's that?" She asks as she finally turns around

"Maria, who is that extremely poor-looking guy with you?" she asks the maid

I figure that due to her not knowing us, the best we can do is apologize for being forgettable. That way, the worst that can happen is she says "I don't know him" and we're forced to leave.

Either way, we know just enough about her to have plausibility that she talked to us at least once and forgot us. All we need is access to Tama, and if that doesn't work, we need money and she has a opening.

>>20503837
We were in Butler Mode to save her. If she met us, she'd know us.

It's a huge room stacked and filled with a mountain of anime and game merchandise that you would guess would cost up to the millions of yen.

As you began to do so, your inane knowledge of manga and anime that you picked up as a printer for a popular magazine publisher coming into use, you consider just why you're doing this.

'Don't I just need to talk to Tama? Why the hell am I bothering getting employment?'

You proceed to do the job, your soul of a butler ignited.
After making some movement space in the middle of the floor, the organization and arrangement of the collection proceeded easily enough.

About an hour later and your done.
Maria and Nagi comes around to inspect your work and is reasonably impressed with what they see.

"Here's the keychain you were looking for." you tell Nagi as you hand her the item in question
"hmnn impressive." she says as she pockets the thing, "now for your next test."
The two lead you out of the house to the gardens.
There, you find yourself facing a small but still impressive replica of the main mansion.

"My previous butler, Himegami, got along quite well with my cat. I want to see how well you can get along with him yourself."
Nagi pushes open the door of the glorified doghouse and two sharp eyes peer out from inside.
"hey Tama, I have a new friend for you!" The little girl calls out.

The huge white tiger, your objective for coming here, wakes no time in pouncing on you with its claws unsheathed.

You bow at the tiger headed straight at you, "hello Tama. how may I be of assistance?"
It growls at you, a low dangerous growl.
Thinking that he only wanted to preserve his cover, you lean in and whisper, "I know you can speak, and I know she doesn't know that. I wish to speak to you later."

The growl turns into a full roar and he proceeds to maul you.
---------------------------------------------------------------

Later, you wake up in an unknown room in an unknown bed.
Beside you, you find Maria looking down at you full of worry.
"Oh, you're awake? Sorry about that, Tama must be feeling a little off today. Luckily you only have some scratches and a few dislocations that our doctors were able to fix immediately." she tells you.
"Please wait here while I call down Nagi, she has something she wants to tell you."
Maria leaves the room leaving you all alone
[ ]Wait
[ ]Find Tama, talk
[ ]Other
>>
>>20504295
Wait here for now. If we leave the room, we're likely to run into some "circumstance" that makes us look bad.

Like walking into the hot spring while Nagi's bathing?
>>
>>20504295
Wait here.

We have a lot of time. We aren't even sure Tama will break us out. We don't even really know what that means yet.

Waiting seems like a good choice at the moment.
>>
>>20504317
sound reasoning.
>>
I... I don't know. I guess wait.
>>
>>20504317
I don't think you understand shounen anime, we're gonna look bad no matter what we do or do not do.

For example, if we do nothing, a sexy nurse will inevitably come in and put us in a compromising position that makes us look like a pervert as soon as someone else walks in.
>>
>>20504295
And this is what we get for meta gaming.
>>
>>20504330
What do you mean? We knew this all in character.
>>
>>20504327
Of course, never mind that the sexy nurse is well known as a wanton slut who insists on not wearing a bra and is writhing on top of the protagonist while his hands are nowhere near her body - clearly he's the one at fault for being a pervert and should be treated like subhuman scum.
>>
>>20504327
Oh, I understand them, but at least I'm trying to avoid the Tropes.

If Tama is still an Agent in this sim, we should wait for contact from him. This is what we asked.

And he did avoid wounding us badly. We were just breaking his cover and that's bad.
>>
>>20504327
However in that case, she's coming onto us, which is obvious to anyone who comes in, as opposed to rushing into a room while someone else is naked. It's a lot better to stay in the room.
>>
Guys!

Hey, guys!

Listen for a moment.

Maybe "breaking out" doesn't actually refer to breaking out of this simulation physically. The reaction of the policeman when we fled (him not chasing us like you'd expect of one from our home dimension) kinda seemed off to me.
We might be supposed to "break out" of our habits, our fear-induced antics when confronted with our worst nightmare. Maybe we're supposed to do exactly the opposite of what we'd do normally if we were stranded back "home".

Just a thought, which I think would be quite in line with Bureau shenanigans.
>>
>>20504336
Now you're getting it, and the one who forms that first opinion is inevitably going to be the one the protagonist ends up with at the end.

The rest of the "plot" consists of her almost letting up on her grudge and forgiving him, only to find him in yet ANOTHER compromising position that makes him look like a complete pervert.
>>
>>20504358
Yeah, but every single person in our dimension wasn't bad. Hell, Hina and Tama came from the dimension.
>>
>>20504352
Oh but that's what I'm saying, the male always gets blamed for being a pervert regardless of his role in the situation.

He could be tied up, beaten bloody, and being crying for help and they'd still be like, "Geeze man, keep it in your friggin' pants! Baka!"

You decide to follow Maria's advice and wait, your body sinking deeper into the luxurious bed.

Minutes pass, and you feel yourself almost fall asleep due to the combined effects of fatigue and the drugs in your system.
You manage to shake it off and stay as awake as you could.

Nagi walks in with Maria, the excitable girl was all smiles.
"After seeing you play so nicely with Tama, I've decided...." Nagi says as Maria pulls out a butler's uniform much like your own from behind her "You'll be my new butler Hayate!"

---------------------------------------------------------------------
That evening, after a simple meal of soup and bread, you remain in bed according to Maria's instructions.
She told you that you could start on your duties in the morning, and that you should rest for the night.

>>
>>20504377
You know, the Dude is probably thinking as he's watching us "Man, he starts this simulation with nothing at all. First day in, he's a butler in a fucking mansion, snoozing in a kickass bed. I don't care if he comes in first now, that's just skill."
>>
>>20504418
Or the Dude's there laughing going "I wonder how ticked he's going to be when he realizes that Tama's just a tiger. He was supposed to find Hina."
>>
>>20504377
You think you should try talking to Tama again.
Slipping out of the bed and quietly padding down the halls, you head out to the garden where Tama's house was.

Not wanting to risk getting mauled again, you knock on his door and talk through the thick wood.

A large mass slams into the door, the animal inside getting much much more agitated.
"Tama, I know you, I know Mike. Come on man, stop being a dick and talk to me."
The tiger continues to smash against the door trying to get at you.

Lights come on in the garden, Nagi and Maria accompanied by some SPs approach you.

"No, no, he likes you! See? He really wants to play with you." she points out the claw now poking out of a hole in the door.
"Bad Tama! You play with Hayate tomorrow!" She bravely taps the huge paw, making the tiger pull it back inside.
"Hey Hayate, if you have time to play with Tama, why don't you just play with me?"
"O-of course milady."
"Nagi, it's already late, and you promised me you'll go to school tomorrow." Maria tells the small one
"Just a little Maria. I promise I'll go to bed early!~"
"Very well... An hour. I'll give you two an hour. I want you in bed by 11."
The SPs dispurse and you three head on inside.

Nagi takes you back to the room with the huge TV and consoles and plops down on a cushion on the floor.

She lays out some games for you and asks
"So Hayate, what do you want to play?"

"Why don't we play the RPG?" you say as you pull out a game named ZIPPERS & BELTS XVI
"Okay... It's not very good for 2 player though, but we can take turns."

After starting up a new game, you and Nagi take turns playing the generic RPG for an hour.
Your Hero was an effiminate looking 22 year olf with a sword as tall as he was.
His team comprised of a catboy, an elf with a chain around her neck, and a dwarf on some sort of trike.
The game was a cookie cutter game, complete with boring grinding, pointless puzzles and gratuitous english thrown in.

As you took your turn to play, the character on screen yelling out "STOPPU DANSEEENG! FEEEEL!" As he threw an attack, you turn to your right to see that Nagi had already fallen asleep.

You pause the game and save it, turning off the TV and console.
Picking up the small girl, you decide to take her to her room.

But wait, you have no idea where that was.

After a couple of mistakes, first finding what appeared to be storage for cosplay outfits and next finding a white haired man sleeping on a pool table, you open a third random door to finally find her room.

Unfortunately, that wasn't all you found.
There, across the room, her clothes hanging off the back off a chair, was Maria changing into her evening wear.

her pale white skin shone in the moonlight, her womanly curves exposed for you to see.

"H-ha... Haya... HAYATE!" She picks up her discarded uniform and uses it to cover herself.
"What a-are you doing here?!"
"I'M SORRY!" yo uanswer as you quickly avert your eyes. "I came to bring Nagi to bed..."
You look down to find a fully awake, very angry in your arms.
"HA... YA... TE...!" she screams as a large vein pops from the side of her head.
