... has been lost to the warp.

I'm afraid that I just don't have the will to continue this train wreck, though the sector in question may return in 1shots or possibly a nation builder game later.

Damnit MachineSpirit! What about my Elesh and Athe shenanigans? You can't cut PQ, you'll regret this!
>>
>>20535532
if it is any consolation, you're avoiding a certain movie reference that involves a toll booth and criminal dynasties.

It's no consolation! And I didn't think it was a train wreck. I really enjoyed PQ, even if warp madness was crazy at times.

At least he let us know he was ending it and didn't just disappear into the void.

Well, dang. I haven't followed it for a long while, but it was nice to see it show up on the catalog every so often.

I just got back from a lengthy an rather unpleasant business trip to southern Asia, and my favorite quest has died?

Goddamn.
>>
>>20535785
How many times have you seen it tried?

Oh, I forgot about vampire bride. So make that 2 successful attempts.
I think I've seen 8 or 9 tries to continue an abandoned quest in total.

I'm tempted to try, but I don't think I could do justice to OP's style.

>>20535502
But... but I enjoyed this train wreck ;_;

>>20535897
I'd recommend running a quick oneshot using the same system first. It will let you get your feet under yourself first. Or just take the plunge. Either way, go for it. You don't have to be Machinespirit, you just have to be fun.
>>
Damn, I hope OP's just in a bad mood and Privateer Quest will continue next Tuesday.

Jorg sighed as he checked his auto-gun's action for the hundredth time. "Who we hittin, Jauly? I ain't sure we should be doin' a hit 'n some sam we ain't knowin. The Don don't approv'a'dat, y'know?"

"Shaddup, Jorg. They walkin' into it" whispered Jauly.

The customs officer dropped his pen as the Dynasty gangers rose from their concealed positions. The tall one managed to leap aside moments before the first autogun filled the customs booth with a symphony of primitive weapons fire.

You'll have to wait for the next installment of Privateer Quest to ask her.
>>
>>20536900
It's funny that after months of the quest running, and now the (apparent) death of our dear protagonist Elesh, we never even found out what she looks like.

I consider that the mark of a god-tier quest.
>>
I never got around to reading it, but I am sorry to see you go sir.
>>
Still hoping is just drunk or trolling. Perhaps both.
>>
>>20538571
I don't think so. For the last half dozen threads, only 2 or 3 anons have been participating in the quest, and OP obviously has a lot of real world obligations interfering. Can't blame him/her for ending the quest under those circumstances.

Also, it strikes me as odd that more posters are mourning the end of the quest than regularly participated in it.
>>
>>20538608
It's not really surprising people stop showing up with the spotty attendence record OP had over the last month or so.

Still, as one of the guys who were actually here for the quest I know I will miss it dearly.
>>
>>20538641
Just to expand on that a bit.

I've been playing House&Dominion, from the start. Every Tuesday except maybe 3 times since the quest started going I've been there.

H&D started out nicely, but at some point of the quest is was mostly OP and me in the threads. For 3 or 4 threads, there were maybe 10 posts each session not written by him or me.

But OP kept going and these days H&D might not be the biggest quest, but there are always at least 3 or 4 anons posting suggestions.

tl;dr: Persevere, keep your schedule and you'll be successful. Although I doubt MachineSpirit doesn't know that himself.

Sorry to here about that. I wish I could have kept going with it as well, but work got in the way. Was seriously disappointed when I wasn't able to anymore. Was fun, crazy times. I would love to jump into another one of your games if you ever do it.
>>
>>20538976
House and Dominion is amazing and everyone should be inspired by slow typing's awesomeness.

Unfortunately, I think the lesson learned from PQ needs to be "have SOME kind of plot". I went a bit too sandbox with this one, and nearly all of the missions you guys picked up were made up on the spot. Really, the only fixed events were the first mission, the Dark Eldar Raid on Aquari, and the Chaos Fleets attacking.

oh, and for the record...

When you're attempting to defend a location that you got DRUNK AS HELL IN from a superior force and you only have pistols? Booze burns. I'm honestly shocked the dice didn't wipe you guys right then and there.

Not that I'm angry or something about it, I just had to stay it eventually. You all loved to stand and fight for some reason.
>>
>>20542167
What can I say, /tg/ sucks at being a pirate. We're all vikings at heart and love a glorious fight against impossible odds.

Though charging a Chaos fleet in a shitty little frigate was insane even by /tg/ standards. For the record, I suggested contacting the Chaos commander and selling out the escaping transports in exchange for free passage.
>>
>>20542167
Yeah, we wanted to do insaine things in a very unforgiving setting. We should have died a long time ago without a warent of trade to hide behind.
>>
Great, not only does PQ end, but I also broke off a part of one of my teeth today.
Brilliant.
I blame you machinespirit.

I'd be willing to call you an abnormaliy if you can go around chewing on stones.
>>
>>20543100
Just as planned!

Since it seems that people are still vaguely around, what did you guys enjoy most about PQ? Either parts specifically or general stuff. I'd like to try and improve the system I used to work out stuff for use in 1shots or possibly future quests.

I'll also answer any "what happened to character X" questions, if people really want to know.
>>
>>20543219
To be honest, why should we? It's not like you didn't abandon us.
>>
>>20543123
If you still have the stone, you should call a lawyer.

You could probably get quite a lot of money from the cereal company.
>>
>>20543219
I liked the freedom the game had. We could do whatever we wanted but I imagine that must have been kind of painful for you.

And what happened to Elesh and crew? Did they really die?
>>
>>20543244
Nope, welcome to Europe.

Already spoke with one, they'd only get a reprimand from our customer protection agency and would have to cover the cost for the treatment.
Which, incedentally, is free under my dental plan.

Doesn't even hurt any more, but it feels really weird.

I made so much stuff up right on the spot or diced the results that it wasn't even funny due to some of your actions.

As for the ending, well...
>>
>>20543219
Personally, I was drawn to the quest by the rather unique concept of a crazy techpriestess turned pirate as the main character. I've seen a lot of Rogue Trader quests that follow the more typical character archetypes, and I found the variety refreshing.

Not sure that really helps much for future quests...

>>20543229
Don't be a little bitch, anon. The quest lasted a lot longer than most do.
>>
>>20543309
Did Bob even care they were all killed?
What about the other people Elesh knew like Magos Banks and Quein?
>>
Privateer quest is gone?

I will mourn its passing, it is the best quest ever. I used to stay up untill 9 am to participate.

It will be missed. By me, at least.
>>
>>20543341

Just because Bob reacted doesn't mean she escaped dozens of automatic weapons.

As for Magos Banks, I doubt he'll ever even learn of these events.

Quein is fairly powerless, but not completely.
>>
>>20543387
Huh. Bad end for Elesh then. That's rather unfortunate.
>>
>>20543309

Well played, comrade OP.
>>
>>20538554
Where have you been ZM. We've been so lonely without you ZM. So cold.... so very cold...
>>
Can't you just, you know, take a break and come back with 1-shot adventures for Elesh and her friends whenever you feel like it?

I really enjoyed the quest, but if you think it needs to be more structured and less sandbox-y, do the 1-shots you mentioned with the crew.

If you're feeling silly, do something like... Bob wants to find out more about human relationships and creeps around Elesh and Athe. I'm sure the heretical love crowd would love it.

If you're feeling more serious, have Julin and Kelly negotiate a deal for arms with some shady figures who could possibly not only be criminals, but also xenos/heretics/something_worse.
>>
>>20543900

it is possible, though I'd like to do a 1-shot using Only War style deal before returning to Elesh and Co.

The battle of Serentus will be much more fun like that :)
>>
Liked: zanny adventures, the characters(most important really), the relatively sane take on 40k cannon, sandboxy nature while still having key events.
Disliked: trying to play rouge trader without a warent of trade. It didn't work out to well for us.
Advice for next time:
Give us a warrent of trade and a base of operations early on. That way you cab have people come to us and give us stuff to do. That stuff may involve kicking their ass for dropping in unanounced, which is a great way to keep us grounded.
>>
>>20544193
>Disliked: trying to play rouge trader without a warent of trade. It didn't work out to well for us.

Huh, what?
That was my favourite part.
>>
>>20544244
Likewise. It was fun starting out the quest as a minor pirate with a weak ship and building up from there.
>>
>>20543974
If you are looking fir advice on how to get the campaign back on track consider this: Esha has more or less chosen sides and now has allies and enemies. Her allies could give her a job in return for the position to claim that system we're squatting in, or anything else you can be reasonably sure we would want. Once it becomes known that the system exists (say after a timeskip) then her enemies can start screwing with it. That Magos can try to cause all sorts of trouble, chaos can might see easy pickings ect. If all else fails, have our eldar crewmate come to us with a job offer because farseeing means never having to justify anything.
>>
>>20544193
>Disliked: trying to play rouge trader without a warent of trade. It didn't work out to well for us.

... but that was the whole point of starting out as a pirate!

and thank you all for playing and following. Until the next adventure!
