Jormungandr, with Sparrow in tow, slowly descend toward the island nation of Sosaria, from which they just left a week prior. Amongst the sound of violins, Leon wraps a hand around your hip, spinning you as the two of you dance- it's strange- He's a better dancer than Kristoph, even. Two years ago, at a ball in Cerluean City, you danced with the squire, and he just knew the basics- but now, he moves adroitly, almost casually. To your side, Kaliel and Belethor, very carefully, follows your lead, practicing what they'd just learned. Jeanne continues stomping on Fellwind's feet, and Raziel and Grayson are taking a break, alongside Ell, Kiyara., and Zeke.

"Your majesty." Ell called. "We've arrived at Sosaria."
>>
>>20608917
Finish the dance properly, wait for the others to end theirs, then dispell the instruments and stuff.
"So, we're already back."
>>
>>20608932
That's almost exactly what I was about to say. Down to the wording even.
>>
You command your conjured instruments to slow to a stop, and you quickly finish your dance with Leon. Clumsily, Kaliel and Belethor do as well, and Fellwind twirls Jeanne around once more, before the song finally ends.
"So." You say. "We're already back."
"We are." Belethor added. "I'd best go inform my men that we're all home, and then I'd best return to my family. I'll extend an invitation to you, if you wish." He said. "I'm certain they would mind little if you visited for several days."
>>

"We might stay for a little while. However we have business to attend to in New Arcturus and further east."
>>
"We might stay for a little while... However, we have business to attend to in New Arcturus, and possibly further east."
"Of course." He said. "However, no matter how long you stay, the city is yours to explore." Belethor said, and bowed. He went belowdeck, and soon, the Sosarian soldiers started packing up. Belethor climbed back up, a large chest on his shoulder.

"Your majesty, Queen Ishelda of New Arcturus." The dock guard said, bowing to you. "Sosaria welcomes you. Your Highness, Prince Belethor. Welcome home."
>>
To Belethor - "Inform your parents I'll come 'round noon. In the meantime, I think I'd like to take up that offer of exploring the city if that's alright."

To Jeanne and Kiyara - "Quickly, pin your men down! IT'S TIME FOR SHOPPING!"
>>

Get me my mount, IT IS TIME TO BANKRUPT NEW ARCTURUS
>>

"Thank you, it's great to be here again."
>>
"Thank you. It's great to be here again." You tell the port official, and he bows.
"Inform your parents I'll come around at noon." You tell Belethor. "In the meantime, I think I'd like to take up the offer of exploring the city if that's alright."
"Of course." He said, and turned to one of the sosarian soldiers.
"Have your men report to Captain Aurealis." He said, and the solder saluted, and the soldiers made their way off of the airship.
"Quickly, pin your men down!" You cry, and Jeanne instantly pulled Fellwind into a headlock. Kiyara just. . looked at Ell, and he shrugged. "It's time for. . shopping!"
Fellwind made a 'Gack' noise as he started to struggle out of Jeanne's grasp. Belethor chuckled, and murmured a few things to one of the couriers, who nodded and ran off.

You climbed up onto Grayson, who rolled his shoulders- it's been months since you last rode him, and he's grown up quite a bit since then. Belethor stepped off of the gangplank, as you, Jeanne, Ell, Kiyara, and a very wary Kaliel follow you- Jeanne dragging along Fellwind, of course.
>Field too long.
>>
>>20609110
Butler Fellwind has to carry *everything*...
>>
"I'll make sure nothing gets on the ship while you're gone." Raziel said.
"Wait, wait, I might come, too." Zeke said, running up. His wings folded behind his back. He slung a satchel around his hip, and it jingled with coins.

Together, you, Belethor, and the rest of the group wander off of the dock, and into the city proper. It almost looks larger than you'd thought it would be from above- the entire city is made out of smoothed stone, with buildings built on buildings, and cobbled stone streets. Marble statues sat in random street corners, with small engravings at their bases, detailing the sculptor's name.
"The walls circle most of the entire island." Belethor said. "It's said that lizardmen used to come and raid us, back when their empire was strong, so one of our talented nobles raised the walls up to protect us." He said. "And these aqueducts bring fresh water from the mountain to the north- it's how we supply water for drinking, cleaning, and baths. And here..." He said, leading you into a large area, with small stands covering the edges. "Is the bazaar." He said, and chuckled.

Jeanne has good instincts. If she'd simply grabbed a limb, he'd be able to gnaw it off. She'll make a good wife.
>>
>>20609298
squee.
Let's do this shit.
>>
>>20609298
List of things to shop for:
- At least 3 new dresses in the Sosarian style
- Appropriate acessories for each
- Something for Kaliel
- Something naughty for Kaliel
- Something for Grayson
- Something for Marigold
>>
>>20609343
Now when you say something naughty for Kaliel, do you mean for her to wear or for us to wear?
>>
>>20609373
Yes.

>>20609373
Who said it's something you can wear?
>>
>>20609343
I think we should buy something for Raziel as well.
>>
>>20609417
Don't forget Kristoph, either.
>>
>>20609343
Let's get more specific shall we?
For Kaliel, I'm thinking a pair of glasses, because moefetish kawaii uguu~.
For Grayson, honeymead.
For Marigold, more flowers. New breeds that aren't available in New Arcturus.

Unless of course Exa has better ideas for things they'd want/need.
>>
>>20609386
>Buying the toys
>Not just shapeshifting Raziel into the toys
>>
>>20609466
O-KAY, that's enough about that topic for, well, ever.
>>
The group quickly splits up, as Kiyara and Ell make their way to a food stall, and Jeanne and Fellwind simply look around, rather lost. Zeke eyes each stand in turn with his enhanced Kalak vision, and finally makes his way toward one that was selling paints and art supplies- even blocks of marble, for sculpting. You find a jewelery stand. . complete with silver wrought earrings, shaped like flowers. You quickly purchase them, for Marigold- she'd love this sort of thing.

Kaliel and Belethor follow you, as you make your way toward a tailor's shop. Grayson pokes his head in, looking around, but his shoulders are much too wide for him to fit into the building. You slide off of him, harrumph at him, and make your way in.
"I'll wait out here." Belethor said, his cheeks going very slightly pink. "It'd be impolite to leave Grayson alone."

You make your way into the tailor's shop, Kaliel tagging along, and you examine the styles of the dresses- they're long, loose-fitting, flowing sleeveless dresses, worn with sashes around the hips. The girl working there is. . quite pretty, you see- no wonder Belethor refused to enter.
"Hello! My name is Aowyn" She said. "What were you looking for?" She asked.
>>
>>20609512
Three in the Sosarian style with proper accessories to match as the man said, something both Kaliel and Ishelda like on one another that couldn't be considered properly modest, and whatever else Kal wants that we can afford.
>>
Everything. Send the bill to New Arcturus.

"Show me what goes for fashion here."
>>
>>20609512
"Hello, this is Kaliel, that woman over there is Jeanne, and I'm Ishelda. I'm looking for a dress for my friends with me, a friend who could not come, and one for myself."
>>
>>20609580
Actually I don't see anywhere in Exa's post where it says Jeanne came along for the tailor's.
>>
>>20609602
I just assumed it. I'm sure he is capable of leaving that part out if she didn't.
>>
>>20609627
>The group splits up
>Jeanne and Fellwind look around
>Kaliel and Belethor follow you
>You make your way into the tailor's shop, Kaliel tagging along
Pretty sure it's just us and Kaliel in the shop
>>
"Hello- This is Kaliel, and I'm Ishelda."
You purchase several dresses, each a different shade, and some for Raziel, Marigold, and Kiyara, complete with accessories such as sashes, and long, elbow-length silken gloves. . and you buy a dress for Jeanne, although she doesn't seem the sort to appreciate a nice dress as much as she should.
Speaking of Kiyara... you eye some nightwear which... couldn't be considered modest, and purchase it, your cheeks going faintly pink. She doesn't seem to notice, instead asking the tailor about robes, and though the tailor seems interested in the concept, she's explaining that they aren't usually made in Sosaria- mostly only tunics, dresses, and togas, to Kaliel's dismay.
Stowing the clothing you just purchased nside of Grayson's saddlebag, the tailor and Kaliel step out of the shop, still talking about robes-

And then Aowyn notices Belethor.
"Belly!" She cried, and grabbed his wrist, grinning widely. "I didn't know you were back!"
She quickly dragged him back into the shop, ignoring his struggles.
>>
>>20609710
Oh, this will be interesting to watch.
>>
>>20609710
watch silently glaring.
who is she.
why is she talking to yor belbel like that.

>>
>>20609710
>Speaking of Kiyara... you eye some nightwear which... couldn't be considered modest
You mean Kaliel? Kiyara can purchase her own naughty stuff.

>"Belly!"
Bwahaha. Follow him in with your sneaky prowess and see what happens.
>>
>>20609765
Hah, did you not read the previous thread or something? We're locked in with Kaliel. Belethor can go suck dicks in a Sosarian bathhouse for all we care.
>>
>>20609824
Shush, don't confuse the namefag.
>>
>>20609824
Yes, I did. Doesn't mean we can't get possessive.
>>
>>20609798
>Goddamnit, yes, I meant Kaliel, not Kiyara. Whoops.

Grinning, you nudge Kaliel.
"This will be interesting to watch." You whisper, and lurk back into the shop, there the tailor shoves Belethor into a chair.
"Tell me *everything*." She interrogated him, her voice high pitched, eyes twinkling happily. "Did you meet any ogrish girls?"
"Well, um, not exactly." Belethor said.
"Come on, you can't stay single forever." She said. "What about women on that airship? Queen's handmaidens?"
"I, uh, don't think she has handmaidens." He responded.
"The queen herself, then? She has real pretty hair."
"I, well, sparred with her." He said. "And. . won."
She bopped him on the head with a book.
"That's not how you romance women, you dolt." She said, tittering. "You need to woo them, not fight them. For being so smart, you sure are pretty dumb."
"Why, thank you, Ay." He said dryly.
>>
>>20609853
Actually that's exactly what it means, because Ishelda is not some psychobitch who thinks she somehow owns people.
>>
>>20609875
Whisper to Kali.
"Awww, they're so cute together."
>>
>>20609875
>The queen herself, then? She has real pretty hair.
She knows what we look like? Definitely seems like she didn't recognise us just now.
>>
>>20609875
"How would you woo a queen, then?"
>>
>>20609953
Don't blow our cover, man.
At least use a ventriloquism spell to make it seem like Belethor said it.
>>
>>20609900
Matchmaking time.
>>
"Aww, they're so cute together." You whisper to Kaliel, and she nods.
"Well, the queen was just in here, buying dresses." The tailor said. "You need to learn to dance real quick, so you can dress up and impress her. You keep complaining about how you don't get any respect from your family- but if you married a queen, then that'd get you all sorts of political benefits, and your father would have no choice but make you heir."
"That sounds like something my older brother would say." Belethor said, something strange in his voice.
". . You're right, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have suggested that." She said. "In that case. . we can talk about pairing up you and my sister."
Belethor suddenly tears something out of his tunic, slamming it into the ground.
"See you later, Ay!" He said, as the object he threw exploded into smoke. You hear him run right past you and barrel out of the shop, skidding around a corner.
"Hide me!" He hissed to Grayson, as the smoke slowly faded.
>>
>>20610002
Get in the shop, help the girl up and make sure she doesn't follow him.
"So, he seems to like you. Why haven't you considered dating him?"
>>
>>20610002
>Well, the queen was just in here, buying dresses
So she did recognise us, and she knew Belethor was with us, so why was she surprised he was back?

"Why do you want to set him up with someone else?"
>>
>>20609512

"Where is the *ahem* 'adult', area?"

You enter the shop proper, where Aowyn sits there, alternating between coughing and giggling to herself.
"So, he seems to like you." You say, and help her to her feet. "Why haven't you considered dating him?"
"We considered it years ago, but we're just friends." She said, smiling rather sheepishly. "We just don't feel that way toward another."
She brushed off her dress, and looked to the storefront, out to the bazaar. "I expected him to use the grappling hook, actually." She said. "His escapes are... kind of a game. Always has been."
>>
>>20610118
"You should really reconsider, he's almost as big a klutz as I am, when it comes to these things."

"Grappling hook? Pray tell, what other strange gadgets does he keep on his person?"
"Smoke pellets, lockpicks. . he carried vials of perfume to mask his scent, until he tripped and they shattered."
She giggled. "He smelled like grapes for a month."
"You should really reconsider. He's almost as bit a klutz as I am, when it comes to these things."
". . But Ishelda, you're, erm, very adept at these sorts of things." Kaliel said, her cheeks pink.

Aowyn raised an eyebrow, examining you and Kaliel.
"You two are lovers, aren't you?"
>>

>>
>>20610340
Obviously it's important, but not to her or the current conversation. Do you even context?

Saying "It's not important" when talking about your intimate relationship with someone while the other part of said relationship is next to you isn't that nice.
>>
>>20610382
No, it's really fine. You're just autistic.
>>
>>20610399
Well, my condolences for not wanting to offend Kaliel.
>>
"T-that's not important." You say, your cheeks going pink. "We're talking about you."
"Fair enough." She said. "But I'm sure. He doesn't care for me in that way, and I don't care for him. we're closer to siblings than lovers. Thank you for trying to help, though."
>>
>>20610449
Giggle.
"I'm nobility, our views on siblings can be quite... unconventional at times."
>>
>>20610449
Uhm, since I'm actually here for this one, there WAS some discussion at the end of the last thread about how Kaliel wasn't exactly the best romance option for Ishelda....I dunno if those people are here right now, but I'd thought I'd just point out that we kinda need to start working towards "friend" zoning her instead, before we reach the point of no return. I'm not saying go for Leon or Belethor, but those two would be better suited in my mind for her, that or Zeke. However, going for Zeke would pose a problem since Raz is also a factor in that.
>>
>>20610520
How about... no?
>>
>>20610520
that is if there is actually enough supporters for not wanting to Kal, if not I'll just shut up but, hey, devil's advocate, someone has to play it.
>>
>>20610520
My prediction if that actually goes through:
We'll end up with nobody. Every single option will be vetoed by someone.
>>
>>20610431
It's in no way offensive though. It's just trying to change the subject, not 'fuck off Kaliel you mean nothing to me' like you seem to think. And now you're using 'condolences' completely wrong as well.
>>
>>20610532
oh shit, just realized two threads ago, the hell, how did I miss a thread
>>
>>20610535
I'd be fine with that.

>>20610520
I was there, and I still think Kal's more like a sister than a lover.
>>
"I'm royalty." You giggle. "Our views on siblings can be quite... unconventional at times."
She nodded. "That was. . a poor choice of words. But rest assured, Belly and I are simply friends- I know that if I suggested anything, he'd use another smoke bomb."
Behind you, Kiyara and Ell enter the shop, looking around, followed by a few sosarian commoners.
"I'm sorry, it seems I have some more customers." Aowyn said. "It was pleasant to meet you, your majesty."
You make your way out of the shop, Kaliel in tow, and check through Grayson's bag. You have a dress and earrings for Marigold, you have a dress for Raziel, Jeanne, and Kaliel. . . Should you get any more gifts for anyone?
>>
>>20610590
See if there are any magic stores that have books Raz could be interested in.
Some honey or meat for Grayson?
And something for Leon and Kristoph.
>>
>>20610606
I think we are forgetting Belethor. Also, see if we can think of something exotic for him. Considering he IS from here. Probably something we make would be better.
>>
>>20610590
It's unfair to leave the others out. Not sure what we should get them though, look around and see what there is.
>>
>>20610590
We could magic up medals for the campaign in ogrish lands and give them to the soldiers who participated.
>>
Can't forget Kell either! Maybe we can find an exotic plant that lives only on the island. It's something to ask Belethor about, that would also be a suitable secondary gift to Marigold as well.
>>
You look through the bazaar, stopping at several stands, examining them for more gifts for your friends. While checking through a collection of old books, you find a strange one, hand-written, and leatherbound. Folding it open, you read a short poem about the stars, written in already-fading ink.
"That. . That would be perfect for Leon." Kaliel said, still tagging along. "He was carrying around a book of poetry earlier- I think that's all he brought aboard, was a bunch of books. He seems sentimental like that."
You purchase the book of poetry, and carefully wrap it in cloth, putting it in one of Grayson's saddlebags, moving on. After finding a stand with the strangely named 'honeyed wine', which you buy for Grayson, You run into Zeke, who is aptly listening to one of the men at the stands, carefully explaining how to sculpt, and in which way to hit the chisel. Eventually, the kalak slides over a single gold coin, getting a heavy box full of supplies in trade.
"Ishelda." He says, nodding to you, his hands full with the box.

I wonder what Grayson'll do with the stand. Maybe he'll start selling stuff, like his bone weapons or something?
>>
>>20610773
"Hey Zeke, could you help me find a gift for Raziel?"
>>
Sooo, I just read last thread.....we kind of are committed with the whole Kal thing it seems. However, Exabyte, is multi-sexual-xenophilic-harem ending a possibility? What better way to expand a Country's royalty then to have a literal loving court.
>>
"Expending your repertoire?"
"Thinking about it." He said. "Did you see those statues on the streets? They're beautiful. I couldn't hope to sculpt anything like those, but. . I'd like to try. Plus, a lot of my paints come from Sosaria, so I was able buy them without having to pay a bunch of trading costs."
"Hey, Zeke, could you help me find a gift for Raziel?"
"I was thinking of getting her one too." He said. "This city embraces the arts. . and it embraces history, too." He said. "Let's go find an antique shop or something."
The four of you- Zeke, Kaliel, Grayson, and yourself travel through the bazaar, skipping most of the stands, instead looking to the buildings at the edges of the bazaar- the shops, mostly. Finally, you find an ominous, dark building, full of objects from history. You enter the building, and it's dusty- but it seems open. Grayson, as usual, waits outside.

The inside of the building is dim, and dusty. You see a rather aged, gaunt man, with deep-set eyes.
"Hello." He said. "I'm the proprietor of this building. What exactly are you looking for?"
>>

"Relics of history." You say, and he nods deeply.
"That's why most people come here." He said, completely serious.
"I'm looking for something ogrish, from before the lizardman empire." Ezekiel said. "It's a gift, for my sister.
"Ah, I have just the thing." The man said, and grabbed a small box from below a table. He pulled it up, and opened it. Inside sat a rather old bracelet, woven with cable, and with beads strung along it.
"This is quite old, and carries much history. It's said that Wharghaul made this for his daughter." He said.
"This is beautiful." Ell said, looking at it closely. "She'd love it."
The man closed the case, and slid it over to Ell. "A single gold coin should suffice. The bracelet shouldn't need to be resized to fit any form, kalak or human."
Ell pulled a gold coin out of his purse, and put the small case into his box.
"I'd like something that held great importance to the one who it belonged to." you say. "If you have any bones, that'd be nice too."
He put his hand on his chin for a moment.
"Would this... be another gift? For a necromancer, I suppose. I have no bones.. but I do have something they would find useful."

He rustled through the back of the store for a moment, and, wearing gloves, held up a small object. You sense minute, faded amounts of magic from the object.
"This was a strange item brought to my ancestor, hundreds of years ago, when a storm of portals arrived." He said, holding it up to you. It looked like a parabolic mirror, but fogged, and cracked. "Scribed on the back, is a strange series of runes, neither ogrish, common, or dragon in nature."

He knows what a kalak is? They were top secret until two years ago and there are only a few of them and none of them get out much, certainly not off the continent.

Anyway, try and figure out what the thingy is.
>>
"Wait, how do you know what a kalak is?" You ask.
"There's one standing right in front of me. No offense, sir." He said, nodding to Zeke.
"It's fine." Zeke said.
"I own an antique shop, so it's appropriate for me to know too many things." The man said, raising an eyebrow. "Also, a man by the name of Azariel once purchased a knife from me. He ended up speaking about his children, and his need to protect them."

You look down at the mirror, trying to read the runes on the back. They're eerily familiar. .
"Uhm." Kaliel said, looking over your shoulder. "That's our language. It's what I write my spells in. I guess whoever this 'Revalskiel' is, she used to own it."
"What." Zeke said, looking up. "Say that name again."
". . It just says 'Revalskiel owned this'." Kali said.
"I think you should buy this for Raziel." Zeke said. "That's the name of our mother."

"This will make an amazing gift, I agree." You say. "Have you been running this same store the entire time, or have you moved around?"
"I'm originally from the north." The man said, giving you a smile. "And then the orcs arrived, so I decided to leave before they knew I was there. Five gold coins for the mirror."
"Azariel brought this all the way to this world... and then sold it?" You ask, pulling the coins out of your inventory.
"Of course not." He said. "My ancestor had it a generation before Azariel arrived."
You purchase the mirror and wrap it up with cloth, keeping it in your own inventory to be safe. For a moment, you reach out to repair the crack-
"I'd recommend you not do that." The strange, gaunt man said, smiling kindly. "It would cease to work, if you made it new."
>>
>>20611249
"Oh? Well the crack gives it character. Not that something with this kind of history needs character."

He sold the Knife to Azariel. Dude's been around for a loooooooooong time.

>>
"I'll keep it as it is, then. Thank you for telling me about that." you say, putting it into your inventory again. "If you ever find yourself in New Arcturus, feel free to visit. And I never caught your name."
"Oh, identity is such a nebulous thing. Some might know me as Scholar. And I may visit, eventually. Perhaps my descendants will, if I don't."
He gave you another kindly smile.
Something occurs to you.
"Would you happen to have the Gearworks?" You ask, suddenly.
The man starts laughing.
"I'm afraid not, child." He said, laughing. "But I'm certain you'll find it eventually. Or someone else will."

"I always like to see young people asking questions- but it's always better if they find out the answers for themselves." He said. "Take care, you three."
"Thank you for your confidence in me." You say, and make your way out of the store. "I would love to have a cup of tea with you, some day."
"Some day." He responded, and you left the store.

"Ishelda." Belethor said, waving to you and approaching, Grayson following him. "I've been looking for you- it's a little past noon. Are we ready to visit the royal family?"

"I believe we are." You say, climbing up onto Grayson. "I would love to see your family again."
"Of course." He said. "Standard procedure is to allow visiting dignitaries to bring only a bodyguard and a guest, but I'm sure they won't mind if you bring all three.

"Actually, I have to bring this to the ship," Zeke said, looking down to his crate. "And give Raziel her present. I won't tell her about yours, though. Best not to make an issue of bringing too many people, anyway. Have fun."
"You too." Kaliel said. "Good luck with the carving."
"Thanks." Zeke said, and made his way back to the ship.
Quickly, you close your eyes, and craft a spell to instantly swap clothing. It goes through, and your magic shimmers, draining you as it translocates your armor and the clothing inside Grayson's saddlebags. Your head starts to swim as it drains a surprising amount of energy, as if you'd just barely put enough willpower into the spell.
Your armor flashes, and when it fades, you're wearing one of the sosarian dresses you'd had tailored. And. . the immodest, lacy nightwear underneath, you feel. Your cheeks go red.
"L-let's go." You say.
Belethor seems to miss your sudden embarrassment, and starts leading you to the castle, but Kaliel doesn't.
"Are you okay?" Kaliel asked. "No need to be embarrassed. I-I was looking, and didn't see anything I shouldn't have."

"I-I'm fine." You say. "There was a, um, secondary effect to the spell. Don't worry about it."
"..Okay." She said, and the four of you finally reached the castle itself.
"Presenting, The second prince of Sosaria, and the queen of New Arcturus!" The herald called, as you entered the hall, riding Grayson. Kaliel trailed behind, rather warily. You quickly try to focus your magic to create a ward for your mind, but the spell seems to falter, more of your energy lost.

<Welcome.> The queen says warmly, nodding to you.
"Mother." Belethor says. The queen runs up to him, and gives him a hug. You sense a voice from the ring, but it's mumbled- she's likely doing the magic version of whispering.
The two other princes are nowhere to be seen, but the king and queen of Sosaria are there.
"I'm glad to see you've returned." The king said. "I hope your trip to the ogrish lands went fine?"

Just in case, you try to cast another mind ward. Your arms suddenly burn, and burn painfully, as the silver lines on your arms vanish completely- your vision blurs. Your legs start shaking- you're suddenly glad that you're sitting down.
"We would love to, thank you." You say, ignoring the fact that you could hardly see. It seemed that magic exhaustion took multiple forms, and this was one of them.
The queen turned to one of the couriers, and he nodded, and left. Soon enough, dining ware and food started to get shuffled into the room. Grayson grumbled something that you didn't hear, but Kaliel nodded a fraction.
Gently, Kaliel touched your shoulder as the servers started setting food down near you, and her fingers sparked painfully, as magic power was brute-forced into your body. Suddenly, you could see again, and your legs stopped shaking. The pain slowly faded, and you started to eat.
"Please tell me, your majesty." The youngest prince- Thengel, you remember- said. "What kind of foods do you eat in New Arcturus?"
>>
>>20612790
That idea is worse than the roll.
>>

Delicious foods.

Most of what we eat is imported from the neigbouring countries, since New Arcturus is still developing. Almost everyone in New Arctutus is an immigrant, so we have food styles taken from all over the world.
>>
New Arcturus is a new nation, made up entirely of immigrant populations, I can not say that we have specific dishes though I dont expect it to be long before mixes start to become unique enough to be called their own. If anything I can say that New Arcturus popularized the concept of tea.

>Your arms suddenly burn, and burn painfully, as the silver lines on your arms vanish completely- your vision blurs. Your legs start shaking- you're suddenly glad that you're sitting down.
Fuck. Come on, we only tried to cast three spells, none of them particularly impressive. At least it wasn't as bad as the light spell. Seems that spell drains are way more variable after the time skip.
Note to self: Never cast in Sosaria again.

Note to everyone: Stop trying to impulsively cast stupid bullshit whenever we need to look good.
>>
>>20612991
How else are we supposed to increase our endurance?
>>
rolled 82 = 82

>>20612960
For most spells, anything over 50 is a success and anything under 50 is a failure. Rolling high or low effects how much energy is used. So if you roll a 49, you fail but don't waste much energy. If you roll a 50, you succeed but waste a lot of energy.

By this method, that 4 failed and wasted a shit ton of energy.
>>
>>20612991
This, for the love of god THIS!
>>
>>20613005
We really don't need to at this point. Our reserves are fucking massive - and if we were really interested in doing so, we could just keep casting stuff on the ship until we ran out.
Not in the middle of an important and diplomatic meeting!
>>
>>20612991
Putting a mind control ward up when talking to somebody who could mind control us by accident is completely stupid and bullshit. Obviously.

>>20613006
Why would he just take the four from the middle of the set of rolls? He usually averages them or takes the first, so I guess he took the 8. But my point still stands that an 8 would not have wasted that much energy before the time skip. And the 49 definitely not.

>>20613022
>We really don't need to increase our endurance at this point. Our reserves are fucking massive.
If that was the case we wouldn't be having this problem of them running out after three little spells right now, would we?
>>
>Translocation, even a short distance, is actually very impressive, as are anti-enchantment wards. Also of note, the three you cast either failed horribly or almost-failed. Also, the summoned violins and the light spell from earlier this morning still drained some magic.

"New Arcturus is a rather young nation, made up entirely of immigrant populations." You say. "I cannot say we have specific dishes.. though I don't expect it to be long before mixes start to become unique enough to be called their own. "A concept that's reached even here, so far from your land." Daeron said, and raised his own teacup, as if you demonstrate.
"... I was wondering if Belethor would care to come see New Arcturus," You say, suddenly. "And perhaps the lands beyond, when I inevitably go there."
"Thank you for your invitation, your majesty." Belethor said, with a slight smirk. "Which I gladly accept."
Daeron's polite smile fell, and he sipped at the teacup.
The king started laughing- it's hard to tell if he's laughing because it's funny, or if he's upset. "There you have it, then." He said, grinning. "I hope you take care of the boy."

You continued eating your meal- it seemed to be some kind of pasta, with tomato sauce- and finish your tea. The Sosarian blend is something unfamiliar to you, and you're not quite sure you like it as much as Marigold's herbal blend.
"How is the ring working out? No quirks, or anything untoward?"

"I can barely imagine how hard it must have been for you. I'm glad the I could provide some help but I only made the ring, your husband had the idea for it."
>>
>>20613264
It was our pleasure, to be able to talk freely with your family is an ability everyone should have.
>>
>>20613264
If we can get Cirya on her own, we should ask if she's ever tempted to use her power for fun, to mess with people and such.
>>
>>20613365
That might upset her. And if it turns out she does, we don't have our shield right now.
>>
>>20613365
Let's not meet the queen on her own without our ward up.
We don't really now much about her.
>>
>>20613365
That's the worst idea I've heard all thread. And that's saying something.
>>
>>20613400
That's not really saying something. This thread as had a couple of not very good ideas but there have definitely been worse threads.
>>
"I can barely imagine how hard it must have been for you." You say. "I'm glad I could provide some help. . but I only made the ring. Your husband had the idea for it."
She glanced at Vernus, and you feel a buzz of magic as she says something privately to him.
"To be able to talk freely with your family is an ability everyone should have."
She nodded again, and sniffled.
<And I'm glad to have it, once again.>

Soon enough, the meal was finished, during which Daeron and Belethor started up a conversation, which mostly involved Daeron making subtle comments, designed to provoke Belethor, but the prince just smiled smugly, and responded in the affirmative.

"I'm quite glad you joined us for lunch." The king said. "And, whenever you have time, feel free to visit us again."
>>
>>20613442
"Thank you, your majesty. I will return as soon as my duties permit."
>>
>>20613476
Change that will to may.
>>
>>20613442
It was my pleasure to visit.

I'd like to thank you again for lending me your son. I have met a great number of men and women who are talented and skilled, but I have never met someone quite as creative, inquisitive and determined as Belethor. Why he even beat someone who could see the future at chess.
>>
"Thank you, your majesty." You say. "I may return as soon as my duties permit."
"I look forward to that, then, your majesty." He responded. He seemed to take a strange, humor in saying 'your majesty'.
"It was my pleasure to visit." You say, and stand. "I'd like to thank you again for lending me your son. I've met a great number of men and women who are talented and skilled. .but I have never met anyone quite as creative, inquisitive, or determined as Belethor."
<Of course.> The queen responded. Privately, she continued. <I don't care if he has a talent. His cleverness and determination is a talent all in it's own. . and it's one he earned himself. Please. . Please take care of my son.>
>>
>>20613552
I think we should tell her about his talent.
>>
>>20613552
<I'll do my best, I promise. I think he'll like my cousing Marigold.>
>>
>>20613552
Her ring works like a regular contact ring, right?
If yes
<I will. He'd prefer if I keep it secret, so don't tell anyone that I told you, but he actually does have a Talent. It just hasn't awakened yet. Don't tell anyone though.>
>>
>>20613567
Nah.

>>20613568
>cousing
Fucking fingers. Also, we could mention Marigold aloud.
>>
>>20613552
Privately say back to her

<I'll be sure to do so, I think he'll like my friends back in New Arcturus.

He has a talent, it hasn't awoken and maybe it never will, but I'll let you know if it does. But even if it does I will still hold the skills he has earned above it.>
>>
Though tempting, let's respect Bel's wishes and keep quiet about the unawakened talent
>>
I'm sure the queen is good at keeping secrets.
>>
<I'll do my best, I promise.> You say. <I think he'll like my friends back in New Arcturus.>
<Thank you.> She responded, and you broke the connection. Grayson got to his feet, leaving the leftover berries and chunks of meat on the plate, and harrumphed. The servants come in, and take the empty plates, as Belethor bows.
"I'll be right back, Ishelda." He said. "I'd probably get all of my supplies, if I'm going on a longer, more extended trip.
Daeron mouthed 'Ishelda', following Belethor with his eyes. . then shook his head, and chuckled. Soon enough, Belethor arrived again, wearing his mantle again, with a thick bag on his shoulder, and a heavy chest under one arm. One of the servants followed him- the servant looked rather exasperated, carrying nothing- it seems the servant insisted on carrying Belethor's belongings, but he'd refused.
"Farewell, your majesty." The youngest prince said, as the four of you started to leave. "Have a safe trip home."
>>
>>20613695
"Farewell"
Then we stroll out
>>
>>20613695
It was lovely to meet you Thengel. Please, call me Ishelda. There's no need to be overly formal.

Feel free to pet Grayson, he's a complete gentleman.
>>
>>20613695
"Farewell, and thank you."
>>
"Farewell, and thank you." You say, and stroll out, with Kaliel, Belethor, and Grayson by your side. Eventually, you make your way back through the city and back up to Jormungandr, where you see everyone's returned. Jeanne is grinning happily, looking at some strange loops of steel in her hand, and Raziel is currently hugging Zeke, thanking him profusely for the ogrish bracelet.
"Thanks for inviting me." Belethor said. "And I thought I missed that asshol- Please excuse my language. That. . brother of mine."
>>
>>20613793
"I believe I've heard it said that distance makes the heart grow fonder. I guess proximity can clear such thoughts."
>>
>>20613793
"Surely you missed some of Sosaria. The Queen seemed nice, and that tailor girl."
>>
>>20613793
"Don't say that, you never know how much you'll miss somebody until they're gone. And say, should we bring that girl from the dress store along? She seemed nice."
>>
>>20613793
"It's a pleasure to have you with us."
>>
>>20613793
Your parents seem nice, especially your mother, but I do agree, your brothers did grate on my nerves.

I hope that I don't seem like them, someone who relies entirely on their talent and doesn't appreciate hard work.
>>
>>20613793
"I'm glad you've decided to tag along, I would have missed you."
>>
"Your parents seem nice." You say. "Especially your mother, but I do agree, your brothers did grate on my nerves."
"Yep." Kaliel added.
"I hope I don't seem like them, someone who relies entirely on their talent, and doesn't appreciate hard work."
"I fought you." Belethor said. "And you almost won. That kind of thing doesn't come from relying on your talent. It comes from practice.. unless you used magic to increase your swordsmanship skill, but that doesn't seem like you." He said.
"I'm glad you decided to tag along." You say. "I would have missed you. And say, should we bring that girl from the dress store along? She seemed nice."
"Oh, right, Aowyn!" He said. "She can't come with us- Ever since her father passed away, she's had to work on the store for herself and her sisters. . but I do want to leave a communication ring with her, if that's fine with you?
>>
>>20613908
Sure I dont see a problem with it. (what could possibly go wrong)
>>
>>20613908
"Sure."
At the rate we're handing these things out we'll end up with a fully-fledged telephone network.
>>
>>20613908
Of course we could leave her a ring. Just so you know it would be little trouble to bring her and her family along should they wish to, New Arcturus could use some more clothing shops. If I wear one of her dresses to a Province Ball the Sosarian style ought to catch on for a couple seasons at the very least.
>>
>>20613908
"Of course, I keep a stock of them with me. Is there anyone else important to your that you'd like to keep in contact with?"
>>
>>20613908
>"I fought you." Belethor said
Have we earned a fate point from exabuckups yet?

"I'm not even sure how I would improve my skill through magic, though I'm sure it would work if I were to try."

"Of course we can leave her a ring. So, what's your history with her, any way?"
>>
>>20613908
"Oh, of course. I could also appoint her as a Royal Arcturian tailor. It might help her get some more business. The dresses I bought are extremely well done."
>>
>>20613977
That .. Isnt a bad idea, we should ask her first though, and maybe commission one other dress of a different style to see how she does when confronted with new ideas, or maybe a robe for Kaliel.
>>
>>20613966
Wait, I misread that. I thought it was supposed to be someone else talking, not Belethor.
>>
"Of course. I keep a stock of them with me." You say, pulling a pile of them out of one of Grayson's saddlebags- It's convenient, the way you and Gehenna enchanted all the rings you could find. You give him two, and he nods, slipping one on his finger. "So, what's your history with her, anyway?"
"Pretended to be a baker's son for a bit, a few years back. We met, and hit it off. We've been friends since. Anyway, I'll be right back." He said, and climbed back down the gangplank, taking off toward the bazaar.
Kaliel closed her eyes tightly, and covered them with a hand.
"I'm starting to get tired." She said. "Skipping a night of sleep starts to be horrible around this time."
>>
>>20613977
That's kind of silly. We may never buy something from her again. The Royal Arcturian Tailor should at least have a shop in Arcturus.
>>
>>20614020
"How about you join my in my physical training from now on? It might help you sleep, and even if it doesn't it won't hurt."
>>
>>20614027
There's a tailor in Japan who bears the royal seal of the queen of britain. It's not so far fetched.
>>
>>20614020
Do you want some tea? I'm sure that Grayson wouldn't object to being a pillow if you wanted to take a quick nap.
>>
>>20614020
The sort of tired where you lie in bed for hours and don't accomplish anything?
>>
>>20614020
Well, you can go and rest if you want. We'll probably just be travelling for the rest of the day.
>>
>>20614020
>"Skipping a night of sleep starts to be horrible around this time."

Well, if you go to sleep now you'll wake up tonight and have this problem again tomorrow. We'll have to do something to keep you busy and awake. Is there, anything you'd like to do? We aren't leaving right away, anything in the city you want to see?"
>>
"The sort of tired where you lie in bed for hours and don't accomplish anything?" You ask, and she nods.
"No matter how tired I get, I can't even sleep during this time. Although, it was during one of these. . insomniac attacks, that I figured out the basics of my specialty." She said. "It was only like, five years ago. Seems a lot longer."
>>
>>20614119
Have you tried working yourself to exhaustion? That works for me.
>>
>>20614119
Offer physical training. Or, alternatively, exhausting bouts of wild lesbian sex.
>>
>>20614119
"Awww, poor Kaliel." Hug. "Do you want to help me wrap your sister's gift? Or you could joing Kristoph's and my training. Whatever you like."
>>
>>20614119
Well, then we ought to do something productive. Tea and swordplay.
>>
>>20614057
Nowadays, it's easy to communicate with and transport stuff from Japan.
And that whore gives seals to everyone, it's different from being the one and only royal tailor.
>>
>>20614152
Woah, hold on there mate! Lesbian relationships are much much sweeter when they take forever to get anywhere. We should be kissing for weeks before one of us manages to garner up the courage for a simple grope.
>>
We are our royal tailor anyway.
>>
>>20614152
Okay but reword the 'exhausting bouts of lesbian sex to' let's say, "Rigorous anatomical study."
>>
"Have you tried working yourself to exhaustion?" You ask, and she nods.
"I've joined Dariel when he did his own training, and I spent forever in other forms, practicing with those. It was exhausting, but I still couldn't sleep. My mind just races."
She shook her head, rather blearily. "I usually end up trying to wait it out, and that works. Most of the time."
"Aww, poor Kaliel." You say, and hug her. "Do you want to help me wrap your sister's gift? Or you could join Ezekiel's and my training. Whatever you like."
"Well... I'm toying with the idea of tasting that ogrish mead. Neiriel made me promise not to try anything alcoholic until after I moulted." She said, finally. "And it's not as if it can worsen my condition."
>>
>>20614247
>Drunk fleshcrafter.
>what could go wrong.jpg

You haven't tried anything alcoholic? That's preposterous. Bring some back for me too, I'd like to see how well the ogres make their mead.
>>
>>20614247
"Oh, don't say that. It might help you get to sleep, but that sleep won't help at all. Believe me."
>>
>>20614247
If you're going to try you should do it properly, with swamp brew.
>>
>>20614247
Yay! Drinking party. It's time to introduce her to the joys of alcohol. We start with some wine, then move on to mead and then to top it all off swamp brew.

Belethor is going to come back to two extremely sloshed girls.
>>
>>20614286
But swamp brew isn't actually alcoholic. It just acts like it.
>>
>>20614247
There will be enough alcohol back in New Arcturus, let's just wait until we're there.
>>
>>20614247
"Maybe you could try some swamp brew? Your sister likes it. It has a powerful kick to it, it might help."

*Try to hide out sadistic smirk as we trick her into trying swamp brew*
>>
>>20614305
It isn't? I thought for sure that drunken shenanigans got us the soulfire serpent.
>>
>>20614308
You may note that Raziel quit the swamp brew.
>>
>>20614316
As I said, it acts like it. It still fucks you up but good.
>>
>>20614247
"Well, I guess one small cap might be okay. But let's not overdo it."
>>
>>20614316
>Swamp brew has a rather low alcohol content, but the assorted fermented drugs have an effect functionally identical to alcohol. Lizardmen don't process alcohol at all, similarly to how elves can't taste sugar.

"You haven't tried anything alcoholic? That's preposterous. Bring some back for me too. And if you're going to try it, you should do it properly, with swamp brew."
She laughed, and nodded. "Well, you do have your magic training with Zeke. . so if you drink with me, you can't do the training tonight."

Magical Swamp Brew Party!

Every time we fail at a wizard spell we take a shot. Every time we succeed we take a shot.

Have Kaliel and Zeke join us.
>>
>>20614368
[x]Drink!

"I used up all of my magic before, so I won't be able to get anything done with Zeke."

"And thankyou for the jolt before, I was about to pass out."
>>
>>20614368
Swamp brew, nigger. We're already magically exhausted, how are we going to train?
>>
>>20614368
[x] Swamp brew!
"I'm sure he'll understand if I miss a single night of training."

Contacting Zeke on the ring, <I've just found out Kal's never had alcohol before. I insist on getting drunk with her tonight, which means I'm probably going to be far too inebriated to do wizard training tonight.>
>>
>>20614395
>Every time we fail at a wizard spell we take a shot. Every time we succeed we take a shot.

Attempting magic while getting smashed on swamp brew....?

This would go /very/ badly.... But I kind of want to see it.
>>
>>20614392
Indeed so
>>
>>20614434
As long as we've got the magic hands failsafe.
>>
"I used up all of my magic before, so I won't be able to get anything done with Zeke." You say.
"Good point. Zeke's probably playing with the new toys he bought, too." Kaliel added.
"And thank you, for the jolt, before. I was close to passing out."
"I saw." She said. "Your eyes went purple, and then they suddenly went really. . .dark, so I gave you most of my magic."

Most? That's strange- she hardly gave you any, compared to your normal amount of magic. You contact Zeke, via the ring. <I've just found out Kal's never had alcohol before. I insist on getting drunk with her tonight, which means I'm probably going to be far too inebraited to do wizard training tonight.>
<. . Fair enough.> He said, and the ring buzzes as he laughed. <Don't corrupt my sister *too* badly, will you?>
>>
>>20614446
We haven't, it vanished in >>20612865
>>
>>20614477
<Are you kidding? She's the one corrupting ME!>
>>
>>20614482
I assume it's come back since then.
>>
>>20614477
<Well about that... No promises>

Let's see how smashed we can get before Belethor gets back, but tell Kal to drink inmoderation.
>>
>>20614446
Because a magical failsafe that ensures our spells cast couldn't go wrong,

Friends don't let friends cast drunk.

Just think what king of drunken delusions our magic could make manifest!
>>
>>20614477
I make no promises. You know what I'm like once I get into the swamp brew.

If I find you and start telling you how much I love your art just smile and nod.
>>
>>20614491
It hasn't been mentioned coming back. Assuming there are failsafes in place is extremely fucking dangerous.
>>
>>20614482
I dont think it vanished, we just exhausted it, the tattoos brighten or fade depending on how much magic we have
>>
>>20614477
Invite Raziel as well. She can't have quit swamp brew entirely.
>>
>>20614516
That's a nice idea, we can give her the present too when we want to get some privacy with Kaliel, as Raz will immediately become more sober and want to run off to investigate it.
>>
>>20614477
Have we even spoken to any of the Lizardmen on board this entire time?

I think we've been leaving them out.

Does /tg/ want to make this an intimete thing with just Ishy and Kali or invite everyone and make it a party?

If we do, we should invite the Lizardmen.
>>
<I make no promises.> You say.
<Just. . stay on the ship. I'd hate to have to fly down and catch one of you.> He responded.
You make your way below deck, to the large cask of swamp brew that sits there, and pour an orcish teamug for yourself and Kaliel. Everyone is above deck or in their cabins, so the cargo room-turned-impromptu-dining-hall is entirely empty. Kaliel sniffs her own drink, and wrinkled her nose. "This smells horrid." She said.
>>
>>20614575
"Only take a small sip to begin with. Raziel can't stomach it too well."
>>
>>20614575
"Getting it into your stomach is half the fun! But we could always try something softer first, if you're chicken."
>>
>>20614575
It is!
>>
>>20614575
"It's a bit of an acquired taste, I like it."

Take a sip of it and make it seem like a easy thing to drink and down.
>>
"It *is*." You say, giving her a smile. "Only take a small sip to begin with."
She took a small sip, and she gulped, going pale. ". . It tastes worse. . . Somehow. With a bit of mint and spice, too."
"It's a bit of an acquired taste." You say. "I like it."
You take your own drunk of the swamp brew, and you refresh yourself once again at how horrible it is- but as you do, the soulflame serpent tattoo on your arm immediately grows warm- but it must be a trick of your mind- you're out of magic power.
Kaliel followed suit, taking another sip.
"Blegh." She said. "It's funny- this is waking me up, just from how horrible it is. You sure a human body can process this sort of thing? It isn't poison?"
>>
>>20614653
"Alcohol is a poison. I would have thought a brilliant scholar of biology like you would know that." Giggle. "But let's not drink too much this evening. There's still much that needs to be done."
>>
>>20614653
"Not poisonous enough to do anything particularly bad."

Knock this one back and grab some ogre mead!
>>
>>20614653
Well I haven't died yet. You're the body expert.
>>
>>20614653
I've drunken plenty of it and done just fine.

The difference between poison and a medicinal or recreational substance is all about dosage. So don't drink the entire cask yourself, share it with someone.

Now drink, it's good for you.
>>
"Not poisonous to do anything particularly bad." You say, and take another drink. "I haven't died yet."
"Technically," She said, raising a hand. "Anything that messes with your state of mind could be considered a poison. Just not. . . a mortal poison. Or something."

A few minutes later. . you decide that Kaliel's human form is much too small for an entire orcish teamug of swamp brew, as she leans into you and starts giggling.
"Well." She said, between giggles, enunciating carefully. "Right now, the only effects I feel are that my head is very. . . fuzzy, and my lips and tongue and throat feel weird. Weirder than normal, anyway. Humans have weird tongues. Elves and orcs and hobbies too, I guess."
>>
>>20614744
"Yep, the _only_ effect."
>>
>>20614744
"No clue. I only tried human and kalak, so far."
>>
>>20614744
If everyone has weird tongues except Kalak, doesn't that make Kalak the ones with the weird tongues?
>>
>>20614744
This is coming from a Kalak. I mean what's up with beaks and crests and so on. You're the strange ones, who even came up with beaks?

Maybe if we drink more your lips will feel normal. That ought to work.
>>
>>20614744
there's more than alcohol in this, i'm pretty sure. Be careful or you'll wake up with a tattoo that you don't remember getting...
>>
"If everyone has weird tongues except kalak, doesn't that make kalak the ones with the weird tongues?"
"Dragons are native to this place." She said, still leaning into you. "And your teeth and tongue is different than a dragon's, so it's still weird. And if we're going by what's most numeri. . numerous, then bugs are the most common. So not having mani-dibbles are weird. Beaks are more similar to mani-dibbles then fleshy soft things, so the softy flesh things are still weird."
>>
>>20614807
says ishelda...
>>
>>20614826
Obviously we need to prove her wrong at this point with more sloppy makeouts.
>>
>>20614826
Dragons are all dead. And bugs aren't people. It's weird for people to be like bugs.
>>
>>20614826
"I think you're right, Kal." Seems like it won't take long before she falls asleep.
>>
>>20614841
Not while she's *that* drunk.
>>
>>20614826
"But are there any bug people? Clearly lips are the superior races tool."

Then whisper to her: "And without lips there'd be no kidding."
>>
>>20614826
"I like these soft fleshy things. You can't kiss people with a beak, it just doesn't work. You do that necking thing, but with lips you can kiss them anywhere. They're versatile."

After that giggle a bit and kiss her before encouraging her to take a few more sips of swamp brew.
>>
>>20614858
I think we should move on to the ogrish mead. It seems not really ready for the swamp brew, at least yet.
>>
>>20614826
"Kaliel, are you drunk?"
And now, she'll try to prove she's not drunk. Just make sure she doesn't hurt hersekf,
>>
"I like these soft fleshy things. You can't kiss people with a beak, it just doesn't work. You can do that necking thing, but with lips you can kiss them anywhere. They're versatile.""
"That's why we preen instead!" She declared, suddenly. "But I like 'em too. Just because they're weird and really sensitive doesn't mean they're bad. They're good."
She looked thoughtful for a moment, and then leaned in and started kissing the back of your jaw, moving slowly downwards, almost impulsively, before she pulled away.
"You're *right*!" She said. "You can kiss anywhere."
"Kaliel, are you drunk?"
"I. . think. Probably, yeah. Most likely. Yes." She said. "I'm too small. I didn't get to drink much."
>>
>>20614918
You could... you could be bigger.
>>
>>20614918
Down the rest of the swamp brew, then down the rest of hers, barricade the door(s), and then start kissing Kaliel wherever we feel like kissing her.
>>
>>20614927
this.
>>
>>20614918
"I like you just the way you are. It might be a bit strange to say that to a shapeshifter, but you know what I mean." Just hug her for now, she should get sleepy soon enough.
>>
>>20614918
"You could make yourself more tolerant to alcohol, but that would be no fun and I think you shouldn't use your talent in this state."
>>
>>20614918
I like you just how big you are. Now we should try some mead. I'll finish off the swamp brew.
>>
>>20614918
"We can try the mead next, it shouldn't pack so much of a punch."
>>
whatever we do, don't take advantage of her drunken state!

I know she probably won't mind that much, but still. Principle of the thing.
>>
>>20614984
Very much seconded. So it's also important we don't get too drunk.
>>
"I like you just the way you are." You say. "It might be strange to say that to a shapeshifter, but you know what I mean."
"I wanted to be taller." She said. "Or as pretty as Raziel, but then that'd be lying."
"Lying?"
"To magic. And to you." She said. "Shapeshifts give you natural forms for a reason. I wanna find out the reason eventually, but I'm keeping my human form human. Or I'd be taller and have elven hands and stuff."
"We can try the mead next." You say. "It shouldn't pack so much of a punch."
She suddenly started giggling again, and then leaned into the crook of your neck. Next you knew, she was suddenly sitting in your lap.
"You kissed my kalak form first, you know. I like that." She said, and leaned in closer to you, kissing you deeply. Her tongue tastes like swamp brew.
"I gave her the ring, so we can leave-" Belethor said, coming through the door, and froze.
"We're busy~" Kaliel giggled again. . and then fell asleep on your lap.
"Uh. . I came in at a bad time." He said, very suddenly. "I'll, just, uh, leave."
>>
>>20615024
"No, stay, she's just not used to alcohol. It's most amusing."

Belethor my drinking buddy just fell asleep, you wouldn't let a young lady like myself drink alone.

Have some swamp brew, unless you're afraid it's going to be too strong for you.

You should tell Aowyn to come along, New Arcturus needs more tailors. She can bring her shop and family with her.

"Belethor, wait. It's okay, she just fell asleep. Could you be so kind and open the doors for me, while I carry her to her room?"
>>
>>20615024
Dammit I said to barricade the doors.
>>
>>20615024
"It's fine, she's asleep now. It was her first time trying alcohol. We're ready to go?"
>>
"Belethor, wait." You say. "It's okay, she just fell asleep. Could you be so kind and open the doors for me, while I carry her to here room?"
"Certainly." He said, rather awkwardly, and he opened the door.
"It was her first time trying alcohol." You say, your cheeks warm as you lift her up. "We're ready to go?"
"Erm, everything is prepared. We just need to tell Ell." He said, as the two of you get to Kaliel's cabin.
"'lissen." Kaliel mumbled, as you entered her cabin. Her eyes peeked open a fraction. "I have a question for you, 'shelda." She mumbled.
>>
>>20615103
What is it Kal? You know you can always ask me questions.
>>
>>20615103
"Shouldn't you better ask me when you're sober?"
>>
>>20615103
"How are you even awake Kal? Ask away."
>>
>>20615103
"lissenin"
>>
>>20615103
"Shh."

And if she keeps talking

"Silence!" With the spell added.
>>
"How are you even awake, Kal?"
"'somnia." She mumbled.
"You know you can always ask me questions." You say.
"kay. Why are you wearing lacy underwear?" She asked. Belethor widened his eyes.

>End of thread! Four hours later than I'd planned. I don't even know.
>I'll answer questions for a bit I guess
>And my twitter is @futureexabyte

What kind of beaks do kalak have?
>>
>>20615143
Excellent as always, Exabyte.
>>
>>20615143
Why do you type out the responses instead of just copying and pasting them? It's not usually so bad but I noticed three times this thread where you took a response exactly but added spelling mistakes to it.
>>
>>20615165
All of the different kalak breeds have different types, but most of them have a much larger upper mandible, hooked sharply downwards- except for the marble breed, where both mandibles are identically sized. Dariel's beak is perfectly even, while all other named kalak have the standard 'hooked' look.

>>20615178
Usually, by typing it out I'm able to check the responses for grammar, spellcheck, and to make sure the content fits properly, but today was obviously an off-day for me. My writing's bad today, and I'm not quite sure why.
>>
>>20615232
Does that mean Dariel's a marble?
>>
>>20615258
At least partially, yeah. He's not a pureblood, though, or he'd have pure white plumage.
>>
>>20615280
Actually, can we get a list of their types? Zeke and Raz are half-onyx, but that's all I remember.

Also:
>Dariel's beak is perfectly even, while all other named kalak have the standard 'hooked' look.
>Gehenna: Gray. All gray. His beak is *not* hooked- both the top and bottom portion of the beak are the same length, and are symmetrical. Nothing else notable.
>>
>>20615342
Oh, right, shit, I forgot about slate.
Slates aren't hooked either- Gehenna and Ragnarok, mostly.

Raziel and Zeke are half onyx, half sapphire.
Kaliel is half clay, half ruby.
Gehenna is slate and at least partially marble.
Dariel is clay, and at least partially marble.
Azariel was pureblood onyx.
Revalskiel (Raziel and Zeke's mother) was at least partially sapphire.
Uriel and Cassiel you never knew, and Sardriel is constantly in human form, so you don't know.
>>
>>20615463
Now I'm going to need a list of what each type does to make sense of that list.
>>
>>20615605
Sapphire: Blue. No special qualities.
Clay: Brown. Low magical stamina.
Ruby: Red. No special qualities.
Slate: Grey. No special qualities, but with a historical tendancy to take up strange, esoteric branches of magic.
Marble: White. Above average magical stamina.
Onyx: Black. Tremendous amounts of magical stamina.

>>20615877
And Ishelda and Kristoph were their own special brands of marble and onyx, weren't they?
>>
I hope we get the silly moegittery out of the way soon enough, fun as it might be. I'm itching for a little more diplomacy, magical shenanigans and fightin' time.
>>
>>20616102
We just did diplomancy, and shenanigans.

Castle/town management time.
