Repost:
How much xp would we get if we wiped out Chimera's LA division in one turn? Cause I'mma do it!
>>
THIS QUEST IS NEWBIE FRIENDLY

We have a plot summary that will get you up to speed on the quest in 15-20 minutes, so reading through the entire archive isn't necessary.

Last time, the Iron Master was hit by a devastating blow from Chimera in the same week as he and Daimyo Okata had managed to finally clear out the Goblin Gang. Their division of Goblin turf was interrupted by the mystery robots from Omnus Base and the Family, who stole slices of the pie for themselves. Daimyo Okata has said that with 18 resources, he can take care of Santa Monica for the both of you, leaving you to concentrate on Chimera. Meanwhile Cat still needs help with Behemoth (you have a plan, but have yet to put it into action) and Tarot has decided now is a good time to deal with your gang, plus all sorts of loose ends: You still don't know what's up with Dr. Span, you haven't got that legitimate business you've been planning since forever going, someday you're going to write that book, etc. etc.

Doesn't change based on how many turns it takes to do it. Arrows of Bellerophon is worth 5 XP whenever you do complete that, but I didn't really bother putting it up as an event because you are seriously underprepared for that kind of confrontation right now and I find it very unlikely you could actually destroy Chimera at this stage in the game. Of course, this doesn't mean it's actually impossible. That's what the rules are for: Just because *I* think it's a bad idea doesn't mean it can't work.

Still, I would seriously recommend against over committing yourself to Chimera's absolute destruction right now.
>>
>>20906639
That blow, while nasty, wasn't exactly devastating. On that note, here is my plan to wipe Chirma out in 1 week:
1. Second aggressor division took some lumps, so their moral is rather low. We have a ton of cash, so we bribe them with Julio.
2. The top cop hate Chimera's guts, so if we offer her the chance to take them out in one week, she will probably go for it, we just need her to take out the enforcers and whoever they are shielding.
3. Our remaining Elite Division or the 2nd Aggressor (whichever is stronger) will hit the first agressor division with 6 mechs.
4. We slaughter both logistics divisions, loot their stuff and ruin Chimera's economy.
>>
>>20906671
Unless they don't follow the same rules that everyone else does, we can probably take them.
>>
>>20906745

The only elite set you have right now is in Santa Monica, which has no border with Long Beach.
>>
>>20906671
Other option is to have our elite and mechs kill second aggressor and loot second logistics. Then politely ask Chimera to back off.
Frankly, which is a better idea depends on how bribe-able Chimera sets are, and how ludicrously overpowered 1st aggressor is. Since we've fought both 1st and second aggressor's, we should have a decent read on their capabilities
>>
>>20906876

The Second Aggressors are an elite set with Photon weapons. The First Aggressors were already beyond an elite set by a few points in Warfare in Morale, and then they got Photon weapons on top of it, plus they're attached to Dead Eye right now. The Maniac Goblins had TEN Morale, and the First Aggressors have enough Warfare that they have decent odds of taking them out in one attack right now. Less than 50%, but not by much. Although it's worth noting that your attacking power decreases with your Morale, and the attacker gets to shoot first.
>>
>>20906671
Okay, so murdering Chimera is a Bad Idea, good to know. I kinda assumed that they had decided to wipe us out, considering how much we've been messing with them, it's not an unreasonable assumption.
Oh well, First we need to spend XP. I'm thinking bump power up to 4 for more bots. Then we have Julio create two bruiser shielding sets. We have Tungsten, Our mechs (4 guard 2 command) and StrikeRica (if possible, I'm not exactly sure what state her body is in) Take out the weakened 2nd aggressor. Then we carve into 2nd logistics. Once that is done, we politely ask Chimera to stop picking a fight between the two factions that have chemical weapons.
>>
>>20907186

Alright. You drop 20 resources on a pair of bruiser sets, although someone's going to need actions to get them shielding anything (you've got plenty left over, though). Tungsten, with backup, is able to drop the Second Aggressors. Which set is going to be hitting Second Logistics? You can't use Tungsten again.
>>
>>20907475
Did our mechs take any damage? They should be able to Solo a Logistics division.
>>
>>20907539
Unless these guys are something special as well, in which case we send in the platinum guard as backup.
>>
>>20907539

Your mechs aren't capable of soloing anything, ever, under any circumstances: They have no action points.
>>
>>20907605
Oh, then attach them to the Platinum guard and have them attack the 2nd logistics.
>>
>>20907626

Alright. The Platinum Guard are having poor luck today, and the Second Logistics Division scrapes out alive despite the attack.

Damn. I'm wondering if I should do this today, I'm feeling kind of out of it.
>>
>>20907818
Really? Damn it.
How many AP do we have left?
>>
>>20907867

Yeah. The descriptions aren't really coming, I'm not feeling the mechanical situation as much even though it's almost identical to the one last night, when I was pretty excited for it. Meh. I'll keep at it for a bit longer at least, see if I can shake this feeling.

>>20908050
how much more can't we buy some with Resources ? cause i bet none of there sets are ready for atomic fire and telephone-pole sized Photon weapons
>>
>>20907968
Also, we would probably end up fighting both team blue and chimera simultaneously. I'm not saying that mecha Godzilla is a bad power, just that we probably shouldn't use it until we can fight everybody simultaneously. Then, it will be quite fun.
>>
Here's a full sheet update, by the way. To buy Mechagodzilla would require 15 resources to buy another 2 XP, that'd give you enough to build the thing (assuming you can get group consensus for it).
>>
>Forgetting to paste the sheet in

lets not buy it yet. When we unveil our mecha godzilla powers we should move to the front line and show off how much of a badass we are. Unfortunately, we aren't a baddass of any sort right now. We should spend one action to finish of 2nd logistics (and loot delicious tech in the process). Plus, the Damio asked us for a loan last thread, so we need those resources
>>
>>20908350

Sounds good. That does raise the question of what you will spend your remaining XP on, however.
>>
>>20908397
Well, we could spend them on nefariousness, but I'm pretty sure that getting more AP mid turn is bad form. So I would recommend super strength, with our next AP going exclusively into bumping up our athletics and health.
>>
Rolled 15

>>20908397
karate ? ninjjutsu ?
then we can program sweet martial arts skills into our bots
>>
>>20908441

If you spend it on Nefariousness, the AP wouldn't show up until next turn.
>>
>>20908461
Now there is a possibility. Unfortunately, it would cost all four XP to simply unlock the set. And I'm not sure the mechs have quite enough XP to unlock the really good combo in there. (Stunning blow + superspeed + deadly weapon) 3 A10 Strength 5 attacks per round, all of which stun.
>>
>>20908461

No, you can't. Nothing about either of those abilities lets you pass them on to minions, nor for that matter do you have that set unlocked in the first place (it'd cost all 4 XP you have just to unlock it, never mind getting any powers).
>>
>>20908538

Well, more precisely, your mechs could have them because they can have powers. But attaching a bump for your unarmed damage to mechs that primarily fight with laser guns and a +1 to one of the ACTIONS paid for by sacrificing two points of your ACTIONS are pretty damn suboptimal. Martial Arts is mostly useful if you're a PC who just gets free XP for completing events sometimes.
>>
Are we agreed on Super Strength, then?
>>
>>20908720
Sure. In how bad shape is 2nd logistics btw.
>>
>>20908768

Pretty bad shape. "Barely holding on" would probably be the best way to describe them.

>>

Can we have our other bruiser set beat on them and then start shielding stuff? Or do we need to have the Silver legion take them out (how do those odd look, not asking for exact numbers mind)
>>
>>20908876

The Silver Legion's odds aren't terrible, but not great either (though they're very unlikely to take any damage in return even if they do fail). The Silver Guard is still available, though. Who's going to be taking them into the breach?
>>
>>20908919
The Iron master and his merry band of mechaniod minions.
>>
Well, your luck's been better, but you have enough of an advantage to crush what's left of the Second Logistics Division. Now what?
>>
>>20909113
Call Chimera. Do the whole "stop picking a fight between two factions with chemical weapons." Bit
>>
>>20909113
loot the remains.
>>
I forgot to mention, in defeating Second Logistics you've recovered the Project Aegis data, allowing you to increase a set's maximum Morale by 1 for 5 resources. Plus, now you have DR 5 mundane armor.

Also, I've decided that in natural language one resource is going to be equal to $100,000. Just to make it so people can make demands without having to interrupt their dialogue to go abstract. This is not to say one resource ALWAYS equals $100,000. Resources are an abstraction not perfectly equal to any single thing in the narrative. But sometimes we need to be able to talk about this sort of thing.

>>20909163

You have Whisper arrange a meeting between and a Chimera representative. "Stop picking a fight with the only other gang in the city with chemical weapons," you say, "this will end with both of us in ruins."

"Both of us?" he says, "do you intend to deploy chemical weapons on Long Beach? I'm not sure the Courier would be able to spin that one."

"We're evenly matched," you say, even if it isn't quite true, "there's nothing in Palos Verdes worth so much cost."

"There is now," the Chimera rep says, "there are your factories and their secrets."

"Is that what you're after?" you ask.

"It is, and if you're so concerned about the city, perhaps it would be easier on you to just give us what we want. The secrets behind your mechs...And one million dollars to make up for the cost we have incurred so far. Then we will have a truce," he says.

In case it wasn't clear, this is a wat do. Give up the goods or refuse?

>>
>>20909382

Dude, pay attention. MechaGodzilla costs 6 XP, right now you have zero because you already spent the stuff you got from the Goblins on a higher Power score and Super Strength. You don't even remotely have enough resources to buy 6 XP at once, and even if you did, crushing Chimera with Mechagodzilla was already shot down.
>>
>>20909324
"I'm sure you have noted the Damio's recent increase in combat capability. I can, and will, offer that capability as payment to any villain, both in LA and beyond, who is willing to pick a fight with you. But, that would likely draw unnecessary heat, and get in the way of business. Instead, I will offer you the production data on a lesser serum that will achieve roughly the same effect
If you're so desperate for robot data, Why don't you go steal it from Ominus."

and if no one wants to go MechaGodzilla after we build power lets just hire/break out of jail any super being we can grab and slam into them like the fist of a angry god.
>>
>>20909465

"You have our terms. They will be satisfied, one way or another," the Chimera rep says, and then cuts the comms. They seem very sure of themselves.
>>
>>20909465
Bad idea, Nope nope nope, give them nothing but death promises and follow through with them.
We tried to play nice Chimera, now kid gloves are off.
We've access to the shoreline and have mapped out the sewer systems, Strike hard and unrelentingly. Set our own factories with kill switches which can level them mangled beyond repair with micro explosives so as not to cause undue harm to civilians, Feed Behemoth found Chimera locations to the north (Bonus of it distracting him against Cat.) "Hey tons of fun, want to keep chasing something that'll slip through your fingers? Or you and your little teen girl squad (making fun of Kestral to keep up appearances) can go and fuck up some actual dangerous terrorists. The more shit of theirs you tear down is the less stuff that i can steal when I go in and level this terrorist threat. There's your options Mac The Truck, choose the fun one." Send a more polite message to Kestral to deal with them with Behemoth, "Tarot is decidingly going after Me now, but you can conscript her if you can to assist. Watch out for Dead Eye though."

while we pound the south and east districts.
>>
>>20909540
You know that girl from last thread? Yeah, have Rica kidnap her w/stealth mech. Said mech also has a deadman charge with a lot of explosives.

>>

No. Julio's thing is increasing income.
>>
>>20909682
Fun fact: we've already stolen pretty much anything Chimera has that is remotely interesting.
>>
>>20909766
Oh, and we give the Damio the money he needs.
>>
>>20909763

Julio's scouting near Omnus Base turns up few patrols and a large number of bots moving through the underground beneath Downtown and Santa Monica, apparently mobilizing for a fairly major offensive on the surface. It looks like he's got another five sets down here, in addition to the one he's already got up top, but the Daimyo said he'd take care of Santa Monica for you in exchange for those resources. Hopefully he can keep his end of the deal.

>>20909591

With the help of Dr. Rud, you program a rat to discern some important medical information on the girl while she sleeps, then use that to concoct drugs that will sedate her without any risk of killing her. Rica uses these to kidnap her and retreats to the tunnels.

Now everyone else takes their turn, gimme a bit.
>>
>>20909908
I dont like how she retreats to the tunnels and does make it to the secure location yet...
>>
Huh.
No more iron master tonight?
>>
The Ronin put their new resources to use, putting down a Samurai Shin and Heimin Hachi to boost income, then have both the Samurai strike against the Marino Outfit in Palms. Despite intense attacks from the two Samurai sets, the Marino Outfit hangs on in Palms, so the Daimyo is reluctantly forced to expend an action to finish them off himself, personally sneaking into their hideout, revealing himself in the middle of their boardroom, and then cutting the leadership down. Already demoralized from how poorly the warehouse shootouts and such have been going, the set falls apart and Okata leaves the neighborhood vacant while warning the Family off any further interference. He and the Santos Espada trade some blows, and the Ashigaru Roku attack Omnus' Network One. After intense fighting between the two, little is resolved except to deplete the reserves of both sets' strength, leaving them stalemated.

The Family sends the Conti Outfit into Palms and attacks the original Samurai set, nearly destroying the set, so the Family sends the Rizzo Outfit to finish them off. Fortunately, Okata can afford the setback, and the Santos Espada, suffering already from their war with the Ronin and a recent police crackdown, do not continue their fight with Okata.
>>
As usual, the Hounds and Stalkers shoot at each other to little effect, bringing things around to our favorite terrorists. They put down a new Second Logistics Division to replace the old, and create a Second Enforcers Division to replace the Second Aggressor Division. The First Aggressor attacks the Tungsten Guard and lay waste. The set is broken twice over. Chimera's next move is to send the First Enforcers with Dead Eye against the Iron Legion, back in Avalon on Catalina. The battle is narrow, but with key leaders assassinated by Dead Eye, the Iron Legion is forced to retreat, exposing the Dream Boy Legion. The Dream Boys, being notoriously easily persuaded, quickly betray you for Chimera, becoming the First Auxiliary Division. Then they use the beachhead to move the Second Enforcers to Avalon to replace the Iron Legion, sealing the region off again. Back in Westminster, left vacant by the Second Enforcers, they establish the Third Logistics Division and shuffle out the Garrison Division from the backlines to shield it. They begin an immediate search for any factories or hideouts in the area, but fortunately they do not locate your workshop.

Omnus Networks Three and Five attack the Carbon Guard from below in Santa Monica, but the Carbon Guard repels the attack, chasing the iRobots into the tunnels. Meanwhile, Networks Two and Four attack the Ashigaru Roku, finishing it off.
>>
And yes, that post took forever. Sorry, a few things came up plus I don't usually have to run the numbers on five different factions each turn. Good to go now.

No, she makes it back fine. You're good.

Also, the Daimyo reports that things are going according to plan so far. So yes, the plan is super costly, but he's fighting two gangs and Omnus, so that's to be expected. This turn he will pummel the Family badly enough that they'll be unable to continue the war while focusing on holding the line over in Santa Monica. Then next turn he'll take the battle to Omnus. The plan will then hinge on his ability to finish off Omnus, completely, before the Family regains enough strength to reconsider diving into the area. The Ronin can't keep up a war on two fronts forever, but if Okata's human wave tactics work, they won't have to.

OH SHIT. okI know this is crazy BUT, can we rig the hide ghost calling machine away from the base and rig it to summon us in the even the event Chimera gets us?

Shit.
Did i not say to rig up a wide surveillance network? I mean, an operation of that scale probably meant they had to take a boat over and would've taken them like an hour, why couldnt we get any reaction to that?
I mean, it is a set on set combat, but it's Our Island, your whole set on set combat only thing is kind of ridiculous in this situation
>>
>>20910756

When gangs attack, they don't march into your territory in formation and attack your strongholds with battles in the streets. You seriously don't know you're under attack until they start shooting at you. Do you have a list of every single member of Chimera so that you can identify whether it's them or just some random tourist coming over on the ferry? Do you have any method of monitoring the entire coastline of the island, since Chimera obviously has access to boats? Do you constantly monitor the island's airspace and spy on every single citizen of LA who owns their own helicopter or plane, so that you can tell when a regular citizen is coming into the airport and when it's Chimera agents? There's no way you could actually have enough surveillance to stop Chimera from getting in without you knowing. It's not like Carmille got to just arbitrarily say NOPE when you attacked Santa Monica because it's Her City.

derp sorry, I meant that In the event we die we have Rica summon us back and have the deathless trait applied to us
>>
>>20910911

Sure, just send an order to produce a miniaturized Ecto-Reader (you've had those for a while) to one of your mainland factories and send a text to Rica. Wouldn't even take an action or anything.
>>
>>20910891
Sending Rica to retake the area might be tough since Ricabot might show the island is quite important. Better we use the rank and file humans, but that inturn makes it much harder to to so.

Maybe Buy the Garrison? Would be nice to have some Chimera's mercenaries bought out. Stranger still was old Nine roller's bowing out to Chimera, though they really hated them?
>>
>>20910966

The Steel Killer Nine Rollers had a thing against Chimera, but the other sets didn't care.
>>
>>20910966
No wait, that's right.
Ricabot would draw a lot of attention.
But RicaStrike might not.

Maybe we should prep several individuals that would make good host bodies for Rica, a small level police desk Lt, a reporter. Kill them, save and 'improve' their bodies, and use them with Rica as necessary.
>>
>>20911121

Speaking of RicaStrike, here's what her statline looks like:

H2 P4 A5 C1 T2 I2 O3 N2 S5
Powers: Deathless, Peak Strength, Meta Speed
>>
Also.

The Family.
A wealthy if nickel and dime ring a ding ding bunch of wingtipped gangsters. They dont get a lot of police attention, But, they could.

If we can work out an amicable peace treaty with the Godfather/Don/The Commission, whatever where they keep to their prospect and we keep to ours (maily we dont mess with them, and they dont bother us as we take goblin land, giving them a decent earning district for their troubles...
And.
Superpowers (that they pay for)

That's correct, for keeping their finger's out of The Iron Master and The Ronin's business, one of their number will rise above and be given the power of the Metaphysical elite. They've seen Strike in action, they've seen Swordsman, they've seen Okata lately (what with him personally tearing entire sets a new one) They know what they could be capable of. This either puts a huge civil war as various dons scuffle over who gets to be the superpowered mafioso and only weaken themselves with infighting, or we have a new member at Whisper's supervillainy cookout.
>>
>>20911183
"How do you like the new dress Rica? Looks good on you. Just be careful not to ruin it, that one isnt a rental."
>>
>>20911233

So, are you saying you want to actually send this as a message, or is this just to see what other players think, or what?
>>
>>20911324
Hold off on it.
This is one of 'my' ideas after all, im just waiting for the counterpoints against it where people fear us birthing super villains that dont work directly for us. But thats it, Super villains dont need to work for one guy. The occational with eachother against a common foe, but overall they should be left to themselves.
>>
>>20911324
That and it's the short version. Longer version lays out some interesting points where powers brings responsibility, but also greater wealth. That they can be expected to cease skirmishes with others of Team Red, but in turn, we'd do the same.
>>
>>20911324
Okay, this is getting ugly, but we can still force the enemy to the peace table. First, we get Kestral to turn the cops on Chimera, with the top cop being who she is, and with some strategic hinting that Chimera wants all our tech (including bonfire, but not outright saying it), we should be able to aim team blue at Chimera. We have our full strength bruiser set (backed by our combat mechs) target the second enforcer and hopefully take them out.
>>
>>20911428
Indeed, Bring on the pain!

ALSO: Grand Heist, The Police Lockup. The aftermath of the Chimera Crackdown will result in large amounts of paramilitary weapons and armor being confiscated, and stored... In police lockups along with all the other drugs, explosives, and criminal evidence they've gathered, Thing'll be a good fortress, but with a Super like Mesmer with us, and stealthy as shit mech we can load up semi-loads and drive off with them.
>>
>>20911428

Both the Silver Guard and Platinum Guard are full-strength right now, although it's worth noting that if you don't take an action aside to have them shield your assorted legions, then they'll be vulnerable to Chimera attack. Of course, those sets are a lot more replaceable than the Dream Boys. Or whatever those traitorous bastards are calling themselves this week. Also, you have a vacant neighborhood in Palos Verdes since the Tungsten Guard went down.
>>
Ooh, one thing I forgot. So much is happening right now. Kestrel tried to investigate Omnus Base, calling out Span and Dandurand's names as she got closer, telling them she was a friend and just wanted to make sure they were okay, etc. etc. When she got close, a patrol of iRobots showed up and fired some warning shots at her feet. She can't fly underground, so she decided not to risk a fight with the things.
>>
>>20911515

Meh, this was from me. Not sure why the name field had cleared, I just posted the last one.

Agreed, but if we don't get the dream boys back, Chimera will simply steamroll us. I'm tempted to recall our remaining elite set, but it will be wiped out by 1st agressor before we get to do anything. But first, we need to have a talk with a young girl.
>>
>>20911545

Oh, yeah, about her. Describing her waking up without anything concrete to react to will probably sound like someone's rape fetish, so what do you plan on asking her?

As far as the counterassault on Catalina, which sets and who's leading them?
>>
>>20911515
"I'm sorry Sophia, im trying to juggle a lot here, Chimera are on the island and i've lost my foothold there. I'm frankly in trouble there alone, and Chimera are starting to strike back on my territory. My well... Pimps and hustler's cant really match against those paramilitary types, So, i'm going to have to rely more on you urging the police on this one. I can handle the big foes, and working on this Ominus angle, but Chimera needs to be crippled and soon."

Sophia already knows who were are, and where the lab is, since her Deathless form was brought about there and allowed to roam since then.
>>
>>20911598
"Also, if they take my lab, they get bonfire. They're an international terrorist organization Kestral, if they get their hands on that data even I have no idea how many people will get killed."
>>20911576
The obvious, what is your connection with Chimera? Why are you afraid of them?
>>
>>20911576
A screen flickered on, a dull glow washing over the small holding cell as the girl awoke.

Soon, a tiny 8bit tune of trumpets and drums played as 8bit graphics on the screen mimics small fireworks.

The Text came next: YOU'VE BEEN CAPTURED BY THE IRON MASTER! CONGRATULATIONS!
-end scene
Synthed Not-Stirling Smith joins her shortly after and in a calm voice asks her Who is she, what is her connection with the terrorist organization that has killed thousands in this city alone, what importance is she to them, and, most importantly...

Why are you worth keeping Alive?
>>
we are so fucked going up against Chimera I mean what the hell. How do we go up against group like that were tiny compared to them.
>>
>>20911598

"Got it," Kestrel says, "Omnus can wait, whatever he or they or whatever are, he's not up to much this city isn't used to by now. Just don't storm that base without me, my dad could be in there."

>>20911653

Heh. I kind of laughed at that.

"My name is Malinda Chai," she says, with no trace of accent, so probably American born, then. "My only connection to Chimera is that they employed Strike, and I'm seeking her killer." Her eyes scan the room around her as she speaks.
>>
>>20911732
"You might want to check prison, It's pretty well known that's where swordsman is. Unless you blame someone else for her death?"
>>
>>20911732
"Yup, concrete, concrete, and more concrete. Besides the electrical wiring and large array of robotic guards everywhere. Sorry for the sprcity of the room" given that it'd likely be just a cot and a toilet, "My holding cells are built for comfort, they're built to contain metahumans. Now, why is it that you seek Strike's Killer? Why was the assassin for hire important to you?
>>
>>20911797
Not built for comfort. hell.
>>
>>20911791

"The guards aren't just going to let me in to kill someone, though, are they? Someone needs to get him out of the Towers first, or else get me inside and then back out again. Strike's old clients were as good a place as any to start, maybe some of them want revenge themselves."

>>20911797

"We were friends and I want revenge. Why do you care?"
>>
>>20911833
"Because i hired her and i felt responsible. That's why i continued to hunt the bastard responsible for killing one, almost two supers. That's why when i saw my swordbreaker's video feed of him getting punched through a small car, i smiled, laughed, and replayed it. But i wasnt going to sink to his level, i brought him to ruin, Swordsman is now a black mark on history and will be little more than a footnote to time. He'll rot and die in the tower as he should miss Chai.

I'll admit i never got to know Strike much, our short matter of talking out her price was the extent i got to speak with her. What can you tell me about her, if you want to."
>>
>>20911833
"because if you're the kind of person who actually has a chance at killing swordsman, Chimera would almost certainly point you strait at me. Oh the other hand, I'm a supergenious with access to his DNA. Creating a tailored, and extreamly painful, virus is well within my capabilities." (Or if not ours, one of our immoral doctors)
>>
"I must be the one to kill him," Chai says, "it's complicated...It's how Strike would've wanted it. I can't say anymore than that, for the sake of her memory. But I'm quite certain I can defeat Swordsman out of his suit, and I don't need any technological terrors to fight my battles...No offense."
>>
>>20911947
"A little taken."
Peel off your face.
"Would Strike have wanted you to wind up in The Tower though? Because if you attempted that, that is just where you'd end up for the rest of your days. Swordsman is defeated, he's gone, He was a worthless army grunt that washed out because of rowdy behavior, and got swept through to Edentech because of, here's the kicker, Likely Chimera who paid someone off to get him on the tester's list."
>>
>>20911947
"None taken. Still, you can see how I cannot allow you to return to Chimera, given that they will likely demand you assist in my destruction as the price for their help. A funny thing about robots, They are endlessly customizable and can be tweaked to fulfill almost any role. From front-line combatant, to hacker extraordinaire, to the swordbreaker class that defeated swordsman in 6 minutes. Even an expert jailbreaker."
>>
>>20912029

Chais sighs, and says"Strike was...Driven by a sense of honor. Not like your Daimyo, but a genuine code she lived and died by. I've never understood it, but I owe her an enormous debt and now satisfying her honor with real vengeance is all I can do for her. I need to kill Swordsman, personally, my hand on the knife that stabs his heart. If you want my help against your enemies, you must help me with mine."

>>20911947
this is a great one we get her in and out break out bouncer and hire him to help fight the Omnus
>>
>>20912135
"And what if i'd gone by my other ideas.
What if i'd just put a bullet in his dome, along with several others. What if i had put him and Okata in a cage match, no special armor, just the two of them. Really almost did that too, was going to televise it, but then Snapple pulled their advertisement.

But, Why is what i did not enough?! His actions killed one of my top lieutenants, just getting her executed, just like that. Okata was beaten, Several times, priceless mechs and dozens, if not hundreds, of my machines were destroyed, cut to ribbons by his little toys. But i was done, The Diamyo is satisfied, Swordsman is Finished, his saga is Over. I am not digging this up again, Nor am i letting you dig yourself into an early grave by trying to kill a beaten man.

"It can be done" (Let me bring look up that old Jailbreak mech build I had a while back).
H0 P0 A0 C0 T0 I0 O0 N6 S6
Powers: Whatever would help with a jailbreak that we can use
>>
So at this stage the two different approaches can't be reconciled. Is there more than one person for either option?
>>
Rolled 15

>>20912303
who else would be in there ?
>>
>>20912388
Oh im all for a possible jailbreak, i just want to break her a little away from her morbid final solution mindset as we cant quite take the time to crack the tower without having pacified Chimera more.
>>
>>20912444
Current list of occupants: Michal, bouncer, Artificer.
>>
>>20912447

Still, one side is trying to encourage her vendetta and the other is trying to talk her out of it and I can't do both approaches at once.
>>
>>20912473

Michael?
>>
>>20912542
We can try to talk her out of her vengeance by pointing out that Kestral seems perfectly content to point and laugh at him. And while he didn't manage to kill her, you got to give him points for effort.
>>
>>20912626

Assuming that's the consensus you could try that, yes.
>>
>>20912704
I'm the guy who thinks we should do the break out. We can try this first I suppose.
>>
>>20912704
what are our odds for successfully breaking him out, and also, what is the possible backlash?
>>
>>20912749
81% odds of breaking him out with N6 S6.
>>
>>20912768
sorry ~84% (need a 4 or higher to beat the check 3/36 odds of getting 3 or lower, need to beat check twice)
>>
>>20912267

"Because that's not what she would've wanted. I can't explain her philosophy, but I owe her a lot and now there's only one way left to repay her."
>>
>>20912885
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I can get swordsman out of prison for you. You had best be worth it."
>>
>>20912885
"And this is the Only way left to do it, you have to sacrifice everything she's done for you to do it, and become one of the most notorious villains to do so.

Now, Miss Malinda Chai, if that is your real name, and you're an idiot if it is, You're going to need a disguise, equipment, an escape plan, many other things. Chimera currently had their keister sat on that rock, But im going to tear them a new one and rip them a new asshole when im done."

"You also seemed the very least bit shocked to wake up in a new place after falling asleep. Can i ask Why?"
>>
>>20913001
We can simply sedate Swordsman with SCIENCE! and drag him out of prison. Or use a super hacker bot to cause a false alarm somewhere else, allowing her to kill swordsman and get out again.
>>
>>20913001

Chai sighs with irritation. "I'm not stupid. Offing Swordsman isn't going to make me even close to notorious, and it's not like you even know what she did for me or even who I am."
>>
This girl is BOOOOOOORING
>>
>>20913261

Then hurry up and end the conversation with her? There's a lot going on here.
>>
>>20913327
Put a bullet in her brain.
>>
>>20913101
"Micheal isnt a threat anymore! Principle, Honor, Vengeance, Jealous you didnt sink the knife in yourself, It Doesnt Matter!
It's more the you going Into The Tower, a super prison built for super villains, and assassinating someone there. The fallout will be worse then anything one could expect. Increased crackdown on the crime in This city, My City, trying to hunt down the person who did it, beefed out security on the Tower to prevent future attacks, and certainly something Strike would'nt wish to befall her former employers. I would assume that is."
>>
>>20913101

"Yes, because you have been so forthcoming with those particular details, and though I am genuinely curious of what she had done to cause such loyalty, I seem to be knee deep in terrorists and they keep breaking my machines. I am no stranger to Vengeance, but it must be NEVER stop you from thinking, and what you aren't thinking about is the Tonnage of shit that will rain down in this city!
>>
Swordsman's name is Matthew.

"This isn't the first time someone's broken into a prison for super villains. Hell, it happens all the time! The Catalina Towers is supposed to be super Alcatraz, but it's not even finished yet, no one believes it, and the sooner someone breaks in, the less fallout there'll be over it. I guarantee you someone will break in sooner or later, no fortress is impregnable."

Also, this is usually when my audience starts to die off, so I've archived the thread here:

Also note that I hadn't meant we're necessarily done here, but this is usually about when we finish anyway, so whatever.
