LAST TIME, ON HAREM KNIGHTS

DEMON LORDS
WE REVISIT THE ORK INVASION
SLAVERS

DEM SCALES, DAT FLUFFY TAIL
>>
>>20909123
Hello anyone there. Also Clovers stuff on demons works perfectly with what I am doing.
>>
Alright lets just jump in where we left off yesterday.
Where we left off.
>First trip into the Desert of 1k Sands
>SLIGHTLY USED CAMELS
>Find slaver with strange lookin' harpy, cause unknown
>Kill slaver, head home

Normally when I passed back through the gates on my return home, the guards at the gate would give me and my usual gaggle of followers a warm welcome before jokingly asking me.

“You find the real one yet?”

When I passed through this time with only one other person, they didn’t seem to know how to react. This was the first time I had come back with so few before. When I waved to them their reservations fell away quickly and launched into their jovial and bombastic greetings.

>Also dumping images just because.

“So you the newest damsel in distress?”

“Hope your ready sweetheart. You’re gonna have to beat suitors off with a stick instead of the other way around now!”

She was withering under the attentions of the over enthusiastic guards when I cleared my throat.

Their heads snapping toward me, they asked the question awaiting the usual response.

“So you find the real one yet?”

Their jaws nearly dislocated when I nodded.

Using the opening, I grabbed the reins of Soraya’s camel and lead her away with the rambunctious cheers chasing us down the path. She was smiling ear to ear.

“So.....are you ready to go home?” I asked, reaching over and gently grasping her claws in my hand.

Practically a whisper, she replied.

“...yeah.”

I took her home, and my wooden floorboards would never be the same again.

Over the next few days we spent the majority of our time at the markets buying goods like clothing, foods, and generally handling the administration side of making sure the slaves who still needed it were cared for. As much as I reassured her otherwise, her unique form did draw a few stares and doubletakes. She was getting better at ignoring them as she gained confidence, and soon enough most folks around had seen her at least once.

One day, when she assured me she would be fine unaccompanied for a while, I finally had the opportunity to start selling the spices I had picked up in the desert. It took the better part of the day, but by the time the sun had started to set I was returning with a purse heavy with gold. I was about to call out to her when I saw him.

Leaning against a post was a man, watching Soraya from a distance. With the sun glaring into my eyes I couldn't make out his face, but in his hands I could see the notebook he was scribbling notes into at a breakneck speed. Face contorting with anger I moved to confront him when a merchant, one too many boxes obscuring his vision, bumped into me from behind.

Knocking my purse loose and scattering the gold pieces inside onto the cobblestone street. He apologised profusely while placing down his goods to help me collect the coins. The coins secondary to me, I looked up to search for the man, finding only empty space where the man had stood.

He had vanished.

Cursing under my breath, the merchant once again pleaded for forgiveness, misplacing my anger’s origin. Soraya had noticed the commotion and made her way over to us. At first she snapped out uncharacteristically, yelling at the merchant for being so clumsy, but as soon as she had said it, the moment passed and she apologized, instead, helping us pick up the last few pieces while I assuaged the merchant who was now beside himself with grief over the incident. I payed it no more mind than the strange man. It was just getting warmer out and the heat can get to people. The last rays of light disappearing, we made our way home for the night.

Now, I had made up a separate room in my house as a bedroom for Soraya when she first arrived as I didn't want to smother her. The first few weeks she started the night in her own bed before attempting to sneak through the place into my bed, an impossible task with talons the size of daggers traversing a wooden floor. One night she finally had the courage to come to my bedroom from the start, skipping hers entirely. I would be lying if I said I didn’t love every second of it, for I am a huge cuddle bug you see. A few nights later, while laying beside her I whispered.

“I love you.”

I turned over to so I could look into her eyes. There were tears welling up in them.

“I...love...you...too.” she managed to choke out between sobs. She was smiling.

I pulled her face down to mine and we kissed.

When our lips touched, thats when I knew...truly knew, that I had found mai waifu at last.

After the official announcement, we spent the next few weeks on cloud nine, getting congratulations everywhere we went. The gifts we received so numerous we could barely fit them into our home.

Free a few hundred slaves and people tend to be grateful, who’d of thought?

Soraya got a job delivering the larger parcels for the Harpy Mail Service, while I went back to planning expeditions to liberate slaves across the realm and making sure the ones already freed were doing fine.

It was a few months later that the first signs appeared.

At first I thought Soraya was just distracted when she kept forgetting little things, stuff like dates, where we kept stuff around the house or where stores were located around town. Some people were just absent minded including myself, so I wasn’t particularly worried. Then she started forgetting more important things. People who she interacted with on a daily basis couldn’t be named, parcels were being left undelivered. Soraya assured me she was fine, just tired from work...the kind of stuff you say when you don’t want someone to worry.

When she didn’t come home from work the next day, I panicked.

Hours overdue, I tore out of the house and through the city. Where could she be? What if she was hurt? What if she had been attacked? Abducted? Hundreds of possibilities raced through my mind as my body raced through the streets. I asked anyone I ran into that knew her if they had seen her, and each time they said no it felt like a punch in the gut. I was about to run for the nearest homeguard post when I finally spotted Soraya.

Flying about 100 metres from the ground, she was flying erratically. Veering this way and that, I could tell even from down on the ground she was exhausted. Hopefully within earshot, I cupped my hands around my mouth and screamed her name. I started waving my arms when her head snapped in my direction. Spotting me, she nearly plummeted from the sky diving toward me, and when she was close enough I could make out the tears staining her cheeks. Crashing into my chest, Soraya wrapped her wings around me while I struggled to stay upright. Wrapping my arms around her back and supporting all of her weight, I lowered us to the ground. A few concerned onlookers started toward us when they saw her in hysterics, but I waved them off. Holding her close and stroking her head, I asked what had happened. When she finally managed to reply, my heart froze.

She couldn’t remember where we lived.

Within an hour I was beating down the door of every healer and mage I knew of.

We tried healing magic first to no effect. The healers claiming that since she wasn’t sick or injured, their spells would do nothing. However, they could sense the presence of magic, which pervaded her entire body. Unable to identify the source or type of magic, we were referred to one of TeeGee’s most reputable experts on magic and healing alike.

An Outrealmer like myself, he had a legendary reputation both encouraging and terrifying. If some of the rumours I had heard were to be believed, he had learned his trade through a very “Hands on” approach. I wasn’t about to let Soraya know though, she was scared enough already.

Reaching Harbinger’s “office”, we only had to wait a few moment before he saw us. Harbinger the Mortician was a serious looking man, face devoid of emotion as he asked his questions. No detail was spared as we fully explained what was happening to her, his expression changed slightly only when she described what Izz-ud-Din had done to her. Motioning for us to cease, Harbinger picked up a familiar looking notebook from a desk and disappeared out another door. He returned only minutes later with a large tome, bound in bark with treepulp paper.

Flipping it open, he turned the pages and started to read aloud the contents.

“La Gluti Mallumo, or the Swallowing Darkness, is a disease susceptible to Elves, and is currently the only known pathogen known to infect Elfish blood. It has not been seen in thousands of years, but should an outbreak occur again, it should be immediately quarantined and isolated.”

“I don’t get it, why are you telling me about a disease that hurts Elves? Soraya is Harpie.”

“Yes, I know that, the point is, your friend here represents a few of the physical symptoms. Symptoms of a disease that has not seen rise in more than a few millennia. Cross-referencing Harpie folk-lore, with ancient references to horrible black beasts, this is the only other affliction known to have such an effect. Now since you’re of TeeGee, I will do you the courtesy of asking.”

“Asking what?”

“For blood samples. In order to conduct proper experiments.”

“And If we refuse?” The way he said it was just too creepy.

“Then I will ask the Castle Guard for assistance. We can’t have an individual with an unknown disease simply prance around like they own the place. Who knows if she’s infected other Harpies already. I’ll be done before the day if I can get the samples now.” A bit of a frustrated look and Harbinger forced his voice a little softer saying “I promise I’ll do nothing invasive other than draw a reasonable amount of blood, if that’s what you’re worried about.”

“. . . Alright.”

Soraya turned to me with fear in her eyes and a hesitant look. There wasn’t much more that I could do other than embrace her and encourage her down into the depths of Harbingers lab. “I’ll be right here, don’t worry, you’ll be fine,” I said as last words of encouragement.
>>
Six hours is a long time to wait, especially when you have no idea what’s happening to the girl you love. For what seemed like an eternity, Harbinger emerged from his lab, Soraya in tow and looking quite well, if not a little tired. “Well, I have some good news and some bad news. I thought I might tell both of you since you’re up here.”

Soraya quickly shuffled to my side. She didn’t look too hopeful about the news.

“Good news first. I was right! It is the same as the Elfish disease! Under magical suppression, the virus attacked the reanimated Elf flesh immediately, and under no magical suppression, I could see it work on a Harpie tissue sample I had lying around.”

“A-and the bad news?” Soraya nervously stuttered out.

“Oh yes, that. The speed of the disease is increasing. It doesn’t seem contagious, except by fluid transfer, but it’s attack on your nervous system is going to cause some problems. I estimate that within the week, you’ll be unable to develop short term memory. Within the month, your longterm memory will be gone as well as higher brain functions, and within the year you’ll be totally feral and quite dangerous.”

Tears welled up in Soraya’s eyes. “T-the stories... the s-s-stories are all t-tr-rue. I’m gonna t-turn into a m-mmonster...”

I had half a mind to knock in his smug smile. He seemed entirely too pleased with himself for figuring out Soraya’s problem. I settled with grabbing him by the collar. “Now how can I save her?”
>>
Harbinger was quite put off by the show of force, and moving my hand from his clothes he said, “Now, now, no need to get physical. There’s nothing I can do about the disease. The Elves suffered from it for a thousand years and their healing abilities are beyond even mine. However...”

“However...?”

“Well, the disease hasn’t been touched on a biological level, and all of its effects are modified by magic. With appropriate magical suppression, the disease would no longer work in her body and the neurological effects would cease, which would essentially cure her. Unfortunately all of the neurological and physiological effects would remain, which means she’ll be her ‘monster’ for the rest of her life, but if you can find something provide a general magical suppression, the virus won’t advance.”

“And you can’t do that?”

“Well, this isn’t exactly what I’m used to, in fact, this is something new to me using old magic. I’m equipped to deal with hexes and curses, but this sort of thing is beyond that. I can delay the disease for two, maybe three days, but after that, I’m out of materials. That will give you seven days before the damage becomes irreversible. You’ll have to find something more permanent.”

“Where the hell am I gonna get something like that?”

The Dwarves.

I knew I couldn’t make it to the Holds and back fast enough, not even with the swiftest horse in the realm. At the rate she was losing her memories, she would be gone by the time I made it back. Nearly breaking down, I voiced those thoughts.

Harbinger merely pulled out a slip of paper and scribbled a few lines down before handing it to me, telling me to hand it give the note to Sir Lyrik Kitril. He said he would halt the progression long enough for me to get back. Shocked, I asked how we could save her with so little time.
He simply stated

“If you can’t make it in time with a horse, try a dragon.”

Racing through town toward the address Harbinger gave me, I wondered how I had managed to miss the arrival of a dragon to our fledgling nation. I had chalked it up to my work keeping me out of town most of the time as I found the place. I knocked, and a beautiful blond woman answered the urgent rapping at the door. Inquiring why I was here, I blurted out that there was an emergency requiring Sir Lyrik and the dragon Rydia’s aid. Her eyes narrowed for a moment before she disappeared back inside. She returned moments later with Sir Lyrik, in the background I could make out the forms of two others, a lamia and a kanin, watching curiously.
>>
Asking what was happening, I handed him Harbinger’s note. His brow furrowed as he read through it, as he finished he looked to to the woman and ask how quickly she could fly to the dwarf holds. When she answered, she wondered aloud if I was afraid of heights...

We were in the air within an hour, and the dwarven mountains by the next day.

Rydia touched down at the entrance, I ran inside. Each second wasted could be another of Soraya’s memories gone forever. I frantically begged for anyone to lead me where I needed to go. One of them, taking pity on me after what seemed like an eternity, lead me through the hold until we reached the entrance of its great forge. Running inside, I was lead before the Runemasters, dwarven mystics devoted to perfecting the runic arts. Consisting of words and symbols, runes could be placed on a surface to grant it powerful magical properties depending on the runes used. Some dwarves even even going so far as to inscribe their bodies with these runes using tattoos.

Demanding to know the cause of this interruption, I barely had time to breathe as I launched into my plea. Describing what was happening to Soraya and why I was there, from the moment I met her right up to when Harbinger suggest I go to them. I had nearly passed out when i finished. All the dwarves present looked at each other, a few words in dwarven spoken between them.
>>
Seeming to finally agree, they told me “We will help.” and I was removed from the building. For 3 days I was kept in a room and provided everything I needed but answers. On the fourth day, they came in, as one shoved a box into my hand and told me leave.

In the box was a necklace. Crafted into a thick band of unknown metals it nearly looked like a collar. The runes etched along the large flat surface glowed ever so slightly.

Never in my wildest dreams had I suspected I would ever kiss a dwarf, and I don’t think he did either judging from his reaction...

With a shout, he blasted me out of the hold personally. “Expect an invoice in the coming weeks!”

Outside of the hold Rydia and Lyrik were ready for me. No time to spare we mounted up and hurried back to TeeGee as rapidly as Rydia could manage. Making it back early the next morning.

It had taken a full week to obtain what I needed to save Soraya.

The closest place Rydia could touch down was a few hundred metres away from the house.

Leaping down from her back with the necklace in my hands, I sprinted toward the our home.

50 metres.

Had I managed to save her past?

25 metres.

Had I managed to save us?

5 metres.

Had I even managed to save her?

I was through the door.

Sitting at the table, Soraya slowly rose from the stool and walked toward me.

Face expressionless, she was staring into my eyes as the tears began rolling down my cheeks.

Raising her wing to my face, she gently brushed away the droplets.

“Welcome Home”

Okay, okay, I apologise for seeming out of order, Fearghaile. I've always kept my stories consistent to the timeline I established. I clearly stated in thread TWO that Sir Andrew left Teegee late, as it was only then he considered the place to be secure enough to not need him at home. He took up an errantry, after arranging his absence from the council etc. I clearly stated in the thread you linked to that Sir Andrew's second departure took place in the beginning of 6A.A. and I considered that the Renwald Incident would have taken a few month to blow over, placing it in 5A.A. If I screwed up my estimate, I apologise, but I was only going by what I thought was logical.

Further, I was the one who proposed the system of having platoons of 40 Men-At-Arms, armed with a single type of weapon. It was later adapted by others to account for detachments from other, different types, to allow for versatility. Call them what you want, but I claim the core idea.

As for 'responsibility not working that way', I'm an irresponsible type. After half a decade of work, harder than anything he'd had to do in the Old Realm, Sir Andrew lost it slightly and decided enough was enough. Yes, it's irresponsible. I fully expect it to come back and bit him in the ass. But that's what would happen, given the character.

Yeah, he did speak out of turn, looking back. But he hardly forced, or even asked for Marieth to bust him out, or to try and join the Knights. I'm not perfect and neither is Sir Andrew.

I take all of what you said in good grace and hope you don't read any confrontational attitude or anger into this post. I am trying to simply state my argument reasonably.

The torches were gone now. The narrow passageway was illuminated only by my lantern, extending a few pitiful feet. I still didn't recognize the language of the wall symbols, but judging from the illustrations, they basically amounted to an edgy teen's 2deep4you snuff film. Except real.
My head snapped to look back. Nothing there. It appeared that at least they wouldn't respawn while I wasn't looking. Nonetheless, they were still something I had to put an end to, and just the way they looked put me on edge, knowing that they could be lurking but a few feet away, ready to pounce.
I ventured further into the darkness, letting the lantern on my belt light the way.

I present the chart. What it is trying to tell you is that I suck at making charts. Actually it shows deviance over time. Lilly is Pink, Meina is Purple, and GearHeart Blue. Event A is Lilly getting rescued. Event B is saving Meina from slavers/Lilly trying to suduce Meina. Event C is Lilly starting to get bored. Event D is when Lilly get drunk. And Event Z is the first kid. The break in the line represents a time skip.

There were a couple of ideas for the uniforms, based on the Yotsuba B scheme... Here's what I proposed.
>>
>>20910826
> Sage for addendum

That's the dress uniform, of course. Battle dress is dependant upon the platoon, but mostly revolves around chainmail and plate for infantry, or a boiled leather chestplate for the musketmen, etc. The dragoons, light cavalry and hussars don't come under the Men-At-Arms jurisdiction, so they have their own dress codes.
>>
>>20910851

Well, I do not control the entire army, just the Men-at-Arms that are for defending the home front and if I get to choose their colours, it would not be dress uniform. Most likely it would just be a tabbard or some other kind of colour identification on the armor.
>>
>>20910778
I got outvoted on that one, but one day, one day TeeGee WILL have Airships. And in the best irony, the uniform will be Red.

As for the Codex Reforms, did we ever decide if the Men-At-Arms fell under the Castle Guard? It makes sense to me, as they are a Defence Force (That will probably practice an offensive defence-in-depth strategy).
Anyways, we agreed on something close to this IIRC.
2 Battalions of Men-At-Arms, 3 companies to a Battalion, 160 or so men to a company in 4 platoons, 2 platoons of Swordsmen, Platoon of Archers (Longbows), platoon of Pikemen.
The Dragoons Regiment, roughly 300 to 400 horses, Heavy Cavalry armed with Lance, Broadsword and full plate Horses.
1st Light Horse Regiment, 3 companies of 160 or so men in 4 platoons? Light Cavalry/Dismounted Infantry armed with cavalry sabre, recurve bow, light armour. Used more as mobile harrasment troops, scouts, that sorta thing.

Men belong to a Corp, to foster esprit de corps amongst the men and ease their training before joining a Battalion or Regiment.
Corps of Infantry (Motto and crest? Crossed Sword and Pike over a Shield?)
Corps of Yeomanry (archers, ho!)
Mounted Corps (Is there room for a MLP joke here?)
Supply Corps (Beans, Booze and Bullets!)

Anything I've missed?
>>
>>20911068
Shit, I forgot the Hussars.
Change Dragoons to Light Cavalry, Swords and stuff.
Hussars Regiment, 300 to 400 horses, Heavy Cavalry armed with Lance, Broadsword and full plate Horses.
>>
>>20911068
>>20911099

That sounds good to me. I like the force composition as well as the number of units. 430 is a pretty decent number for the Men-at-Arms.
>>
>>20911173
So, a single Battalion of Men-At-Arms comes in at just shy of 500.

Would the Men-At-Arms include the Castle Guard we currently have/had after the Ork Siege?
>>
>>20911068

Airships? I want air guns personally.
>>
>>20911213

Well, I thought the creation of the Men-at-Arms was a creation after and because of the Ork invasion?
>>
>>20911217
First, we make Airships. Then, once Mithterrah is happily building massive things covered in guns/wizards/spellcasters, we Introduce the Carrier.

Timeline: AT least 20A.A. That would put most of us at ~40 years old, with kids about adventuring age.
It's a guise to allow us easy support to help them. And introduce Top Gun to this world. I WILL do it. Just need a good source of fuel (I'm thinking we have electricity from Hydro-electric plant, why not batteries and electric motors?) and gunpowder/really powerful repeating crossbows.
>>
>>20911242
Fair point. So, the Guard becomes the Men-At-Arms. See, I like the sound of the Castle Guard, its a purely defensive name and can't annoy our neighbours, who probably wouldn't like the sound of us raising a permanent Army. Knights errywhere, they are tolerating as its not a unified military.

The hallway grew larger, eventually growing into a large cavern. A residue stuck to the ground; it appeared to be some black tar. Naturally, I set it alight; it created a bright semicircle of flame, revealing a pedestal in the center of the room.
>Bingo
I looked over the pedestal. A book, cover to cover with magic and shit. Worth more to the research team, but I'd get a decent reimbursement. There was a dagger, dusty but made of some silvery metal, no doubt fetching a nice amount of coin; I pocketed it too. What would this loot be worth? Six weeks, tops, but better than nothing. There was the slight matter of finding out how it got here, and what made those... things, but I was no investigator. Best I could figure, it was cultists or Nazis.
These suspicions were not comforted by the missing corpses on the way back. Though the sun was setting, I decided to grab a torch and walk through most of the night.
I briefly wondered how much a new lock might cost.

>And now one of the stories relating to Lilly's store.

It was my first day in Teegee and I was lost amongst the buildings. I had no clue as to where I was and no clue to get to where I was supposed to go. I was walking along the bustling streets. When a simple looking building with a heart and cross painted on a heavy wooden door. The windows were of stained glass, a royal purple in color. Must be some kind of church I though to myself. Atop the overhang over the door was a marble statue of what must have been angle.

Figuring that I had nothing to lose I opened the door and stepped inside. I found myself in a small room with a counter in the middle of the room and two black satin curtains hanging in two different door ways. On the counter was a silver bell hanging from a stand. Next to it was a sign that said ring for assistance. Well don't need to tell me twice. I gave the bell a ring. The sound echoed through out the building. Out from one of the curtains came a woman wearing an interesting outfit. It looked like a mix between an Orc shaman outfit and a black dress. The bell must have been louder than I though as it continued to ring in my ears. The woman was a Holstauri though, this must be one of those new age churches, makes about as much sense as anything in this damn place.
>>
>>20911996
“Oh! Hello there. I wasn't expecting someone so soon. How can I be of assistance?”

“I am new to the city and I am a bit lost. Could you point in the direction of the whoever is in charge of the knights, I wish to join.”

“Sure you need to find the Knight Commander, He's the one who deals with that stuff. But I hate to break it to you They aren’t taking many new knights these days. You got to prove yourself.”

“Well I am more than capable, I've killed more than my share of monsters. So I think that they will be more than happy to have my skills. Now where can I find the Commander?”

“If he is here then he would be at the castle, can't miss it. Good luck I hope you make it um. Whats your name Miss Telidron?”

“Vustine the Despair.”

With that I left. I met with the Commander, the cow was right. They weren’t taking anyone who hadn’t earned it in the eyes of their council. I come bringing my expertise and they turn me away. I returned to the church having no better place to go, I figured I could find some help finding a place to hang my coat and some work.

I pushed open the heavy wooden door. I bumped into a some people on their way out, with big dumb grins on their faces. Yep brain washing church. The cow was there, but she was now wearing a different outfit, odd.

>>20912007 Pic is the statue above the door.

“Hello again Miss Despair. How are you?”

“Not good. I got kicked out of my family, they tried to kill me. I come here looking for a chance to make a new life for myself and they don't want me. So tell me what is this religion selling? Cause it seems mine isn’t working out so well.”

“Religion? The only thing we sell here is adult entertainment supplements. Though Lilly might say differently.”

“What?”

“This is Lilly's Magical Place. The very first sex shop. We sell spice of life and help people with their difficulties.”

“Then whats with the Angle above the door and the heart and cross on the door?”

“Lilly though the statue was clever, if you don't look closely you miss the horns and tail and other little clues. She thought it represented what she wanted to do well. As for the heart, it is split up
>>
>>20912028
into four sections. One is for the body, one is for the mind, one is for the soul, and the last is for another. Its the formula for what you need for love.”

“So your a sex cultist.”

“Only Lilly really and she is trying to get better.”

“I don't think this would help much.”

“It gives her something to focus on. And she is doing rather well, she hasn't grouped anyone yet today. Well except me.”

“I think I would like to meet this Lilly, is she here?'

“Yes but she is helping customers in the back.”

“Helping? As in?”

“Oh no nothing like that. She currently working with a Lamia and a Frostling.”

“Aren't those rather incompatible?”

“That's the point though, help them not to be incompatible.”

“And how do you do that?'

“Anyway we can. Sometimes its as easy as a little practice others it takes some magic. Like we had to help a man who fell in love with a ghost.”
>>
>>20912044
“How did you help them?”

“Still looking or a solution, some problems are easier to fix than others.”

“I think I would like to meet this Lilly.”

“I bet you would, but I don't think I can just let you see her.”

“Appointment only eh? Well I do have a bit of a problem, I haven't had a good time since I left my home.”

The cow eyed me up, giving me a once over.

“I think I see your problem. Have you ever had a good time?”

“Not really the boys back home were well equipped but they never had the staying power.”

“Not surprising its a common problem, especially if the nerve endings cover more area.”

“Huh?”

“Oh nothing just some shop talk. I would love to help you out with your little problem, but I still won't let you see Lilly. I've heard of your kind before. And I don't think you and Lilly would clash well.”

“I tire with this verbal sparing. I do as I please.” I said making my way to one of the curtains and pulling it aside. Or trying to at least. The second I touched it I fell to the ground.
>>
>>20912052
The cow walked over to me and stood over me. I could now see from where the other bell sound came from and I must say it was a rather nice view.

“Yeah we have some rather strong defenses here to ensure our clients confidentiality. Tell me what do you feel.”

“Like needles are invading ever inch of my body.”

“Good that means Lilly didn't change it to something nastier. Your lucky.”

And then a figure that was not hard to mistake walked out from the curtain.

“I though I sensed trouble.” She said with an evil tone.

I quickly got to my feet, the ward wearing off. I got in to a good stance.

“Foul demon whore, I should have know. I will rend the wings from you back and regain honor with my family.”

“You and your kind couldn't rend the wings from a fly.”

“I shall prove different, to bad you won't see it as you'll be dead.”

The door behind me was flung open. I turned my second eyes to it and saw a man in armor.

“Sorry to interrupt girls, I though that you might like to close up shop and watch the honor duel between Sir Lyon and Sir Dillion and maybe have a bite to eat. Oh why hello there, names James L. GearHeart. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

“From how you speak of these sinners you must be a friend of theirs.”

“That I be.”

“Then your next.”
>>
>>20912056
I punched the succubus into the wall and the cow was uppercuted into the ceiling. I swung out at the man but he had stepped back out of my range. He reached into a pocket.

“You know I would prefer not to fight.”

“You speak like the weak.”

“Pocket glass!” He screamed pretending to throw something at me.

“What? Aaaarrghh, Ter help me, my fucken eyes.” I flailed at my eyes to no avail. It felt like they were being eaten by tiny bug.

I may not have been able to see what happened next but I could feel it. A foot smashed into my knees in turn, bringing me down to the ground. Then I took a metal coated fist to the face. I fell back to the ground. I punched and kicked in every direction as I could not hear him move even with my ears. That may have been the pains fault. Before I could get up I felt a foot press down on my neck. I started to chock.

“Listen, I don't take kindly to those who go after mine. I'll offer you a chance. Leave.” He said, voice cold as frozen steel.”

I reached for him, to grab him and tear him limb from limb. But two daggers stabbed into the shoulders of my top arms. I reached to remove the daggers. The foot removed itself.

“Exploding daggers.”

And that was the last thing I remembered, before I woke up chained in a dungeon.
>>
>>20912071

“Glade to see ya pull through. Now you may be asken why I didn't just kill you. Well the fact is Meina begged me to let you live. She's a good soul like that. Lilly wanted to rape you, She has a real hate on for you. We won't be doing that. Me, I've never seen your kind before. Tell me why should I let you live.”

“You don't know of the Telidrone, the soldiers of Ter. The protectors of the worlds from all that is evil.”

“All that Lilly told me, also told me your kind has egos to match the sun. But you didn't answer my question.”

“That is because you should kill me or I'll break these chains and run, after killing you. As Ter teaches.”

“I think part of that was a Cash song. And speaking of Ter and his teachings, I've met orcs. They ain't to bright. Overly prone to violence. Just like their gods.”

“What do you know of the orcs? Foolish human.”

“Enough to earn the title of Lord of a clan. What I want to know is how did you get thrown out of your little righteous order.”

“I... I let a foe live.”

“Well this is sort of ironic. Let me guess showing mercy is the greatest sin your kind can commit.”

“No that would be conspiring with a demon. I did the most foul thing one can do and not be killed for.”

“K then, you got a few days till you heal up. Quite a few in fact, didn't think you were going to make it. So how about this, I stop by everyday and talk to you. I leave when you want me to. By the time you are healed you can do what ever you wish.”

“I want you to go.”

“Fair enough, be back at sun up. I would say see you then but that would be tasteless.”

And then I heard a door close and a latch swing shut.

I managed to cut the trip home to a slightly paranoid day and a half. It was relatively fast to sell the knife and trade in the book to Castle Waifu for a decent sum of pay. It would keep us fed for a few weeks. The more pressing matter was where the things disappeared to, and who made them. With luck, the researchers at the castle would find something out. Unfortunately, I never learned to read ching chong magic symbols. I was barely learning the basics of the Felim language, and even then motivated by my Waifu. Maybe it was like math, I was always good at that. I reflected on this, staring into a cup of wine at the table.
"Trouble thinking" A familiar pair of arms wrapped around my neck.
"Nothin', dungeon was creepy is all"
"Says the big brave knight" she teased.
"Yeah. Probably nothing."
"Nothing doesn't drive you to stare at your booze for an hour." Sera buried her face in my neck.
"I'll be fine. I promise."

Later that night, I prepared the door with a proper lock, a large piece of wood to bar the door in place. I slept lightly.
>>
>>20913563

Did you sleep with your armor on?
>>
>>20910159
I did the math. I'm at 14,656 words over 8 pieces.

And that doesn't include any joint pieces, unfinished/unposted pieces, extemporaneous fluff as I have been known to post, or outlines. I'm not sure if that's the most, but it's certainly a good deal. I've actually been delayed by homework, chores, and video games, so I really should finish what I have hanging in the air, especially since there are people depending on the fluff it provides. Tomorrow!

>>20910083
The Renwald Incident happened in the summer of 4AA. It's already been written in. The second journey can happen whenever, since it doesn't intersect with established canon.

In addition to that, if Andrew isn't responsible, then who the hell is going to listen to him? Consistent characters are of two parts: internal consistency and external consistency. If you have a reputation of being irresponsible, you're going to get treated like it. That's what Meritocracy is for. They'd much more likely give the responsibility to someone who's been around and is a clear leader, such as Kasai, who might I add had quite a bit to say about military structure as well.

The thing is, I throw out structural ideas and fluff all the time that I would never attribute to Sir Fearghaile. What you proposed was really more or less what others were prepared to propose once they woke up in the morning, but at the same time Sir Dustyn made some VERY valid points. I didn't get to go over and get into the nitty-gritty of it, but us fielding a conventional military against much larger, better funded professional armies is a losing battle. A traditional Men-At-Arms corps just wouldn't work simply because we don't have the manpower. Unconventional forces are needed to even the odds. That's why the Dragoons are capable of filling both Cavalry AND Mounted Infantry roles. That's what they always were in the first place.
>>
>>20914957
Our sins and transgressions come not only from what we do, but what we fail to do. Letting Marieth follow you to TeeGee and claiming no fault for the consequences is as if a shepherd boy leads a friendly wolf to his flock, and then claims no fault when the sheep are killed. Shortsightedness and irresponsibility is not a good combination.
>>
>>20914957

>>
>>20915307
Really? What's the problem? Seriously, I'm open to criticism here; I want to get better and I can't if no-one tells me what's wrong with my writing.

>>20914957
Alright, point taken. I thought I stated the time of my stories clearly enough, but apparently I was mistaken. Mia culpa.

Further, you are right about external consistency. Again, my fault. I have trouble empathising with people, so I admit to making a mistake with reading reactions here. I apologise, but I can't help being this way.

The responsibility thing is in fact, actually how I work. I flip between extremes. I don't often take a middle ground, so when I'm responsible, you can count on me, no matter what, but other times I just decide "Screw it; I wash my hands of this whole affair." After years of doing his duty for Teegee as best he could, I think Sir Andrew just decided, "Fuck it, I need a vacation. Adventure time." Sir Kasai DID have a lot to say about the military and you'll note in that thread, when we discussed it, there was no bad blood between us.

I covered the organisational structure of the Men-At-Arms and my reasons for the platoon system before. I agreed we need flexibility. That's why I agreed to the detachments idea. I agreed we need unconventional tactics, but I also made my point that even the best hit-and-run in the world isn't always effective, so the Men-At-Arms also need a solid core to be able to stand up in a pitched battle. Hence the system I proposed and then later adapted, due to other suggestions.

I'm not trying to be unreasonable here. I'm trying to justify myself in the face of what looks like criticism based on my not showing my reasoning.
>>
On occasion, a letter meant for a Mirthterran town crier makes its way to the Teegee markets. Though the information within is often weeks out of date, I enjoy getting a look into the Mirthterran mindset. The piece I picked up today contained a section about the tyranny of Teegee, and I thought I might share it. I’ve had such a nice time living here that I failed to realize I’m in the dead center of an oppressive dictatorship! The bread and circuses here are really something, aren’t they?

----

Beware! Beware the lowlifes that inhabit the land of Teegee! They are a dangerous and perverted lot, who engage in carnal acts with monsters and keep them as their servants! They are lead by the Harem Knights, cruel overlords whose word is law! These “Knights” follow a foul perversion of chivalry, and may take anyone they wish as their slave. To disobey them is punishable by death!

They have also been known to conspire with demons, and practice black magic! On occasion, a trader or merchant from Teegee may visit your fair city. If one should arrive, avoid him at all costs! He is acting as a spy, giving information to his vicious rulers!

Furthermore, a bounty has been issued for Tanash Shacklesbane. His base of operations is unknown, but is believed to reside within either Teegee or the Free Kingdoms. If you believe you have found Shacklesbane, report your finding to an official at once! Do not to attempt to engage him, lest you be killed, or worse!

----

After that, it segues into other wanted men, then a bit on local political happenings. On another note, this is the first mention I’ve seen of “black” magic. I can only assume it’s any magic that the Church deems evil.
>>
>>20916327

Your a great writer. I just don't like the character or the tone of your stories. I think Fearghaile covered the problems already. The one thing he didn't say was that your stories come off as trying to be really edgy at times. The one were Sir Andrew left was like reading a bad fan-fiction. The oh woe is me and the everything sucks was painful to read through. Its not that you can't do it, its just that you need to tone it down in stories like that. And I'll admit I've gone a bit heavy my self. The time Lilly and Jim talked about weapons was the worst thing I've written. I'll put it simply every other story/character has something likeable in it except your stuff. In the last bit you came off like Hitler giving a speech.

Never said she wasn't just saying technically they are right. And I do more than conspire with demons. You could argue that's when she is most fun to be around. As long as your not on the receiving end.
>>
>>20916327
Remember that Serrid spy a while back? Back then, I proposed the theory then that we're pretty much immune to the marketing techniques of this world, given our lifetime exposure to modern advertising. The same probably goes for propaganda too. Just saying! Looks good though.
>>
>>20918084
Implying that we shouldn't abuse our powers for evil. Here comes the propaganda train.

Poor Gearheart and Meina. Always having to deal with all of Lilly's kinks.
>>
>>20918111
Outside the house Lilly is trouble. Same with Inside, but inside Meina and GearHeart have learned to give as good as they get. Which is alluded to in the piece I am writing that takes place after Lilly follows Lem and Kikki home.

Sounds like fun.

No its not another porn scene. I'm not writing another for awhile. That shit was hard.

Yeah, I noticed. She needs to be punished with missionary sex for the purpose of procreation.

Moving along, the story on the wolves is coming along nicely. Already past 500 and I've only just gotten them back to Teegee.
>>
>>20917870
Yyyeah, I'll be honest: I hated that part too. It was really awkward to write. I guess I did lay on the 'woe is me' a bit thick. I'll try and tone it down in the next piece.

Also: Sounding like Hitler giving a speech... I'll actually take that as a complement. Evil as he was, Hitler was charismatic and an excellent leader. Guy knew how to make a speech.
>>
>>20918361
I was talking about the psychopathic war monger part not the charismatic part. You missed that one by a mile.

But yeah here's to use who suck at emotional connections.

Right, I'm almost finished with my Drider story, but its already past my bedtime.

I'll be back in about ten hours, in the Australian morning.

Night, y'all
>>
Though I told Meina I wasn't worried about Lilly I lied. I was nearly sick with worry. The only thing that was keeping me from going out and getting her was that I knew this was something she had to do alone. I distracted Meina by planting the idea of a little revenge in her head, and after Lilly's tail antics this night she took to it like a duck to water. It went something like this.

“Give her space. She’ll be back soon enough. Probably with a nasty hangover though, so dig up the bondage gear just in case.”

“Oh that's evil, Lilly would love it. If it wasn't going to be happening to her.”

She tried to rope me in to helping her set up, but I told her I wanted to get some writing done. I wrote some poetry, haven't done that in a long time.

My words wander like my thoughs. I am sitting her in the courtyard under the full moon. I put Meina to bed an hour ago, she wore her self out plotting. I think its half past one but I don't know. Dagnaibt Lilly you better be back before Meina wakes up.
>>
>>20918769
Its two in the morning, maybe I should go get her. Its not like I don't know where she is. Shes at Lem's no doubt, probably making a fool of herself. I hope she doesn't screw her friendship up to much. I wish I could help her, but I've tried to teach her this lesson countless times. They say failure is one hell of a teacher, maybe this time the lesson will stick.

Three am I do believe, I just realized that I am John Criton for all intents and purposes. Which in turn makes me Dorthy Gale of Kansas. So the question is how long until I completely flip my shit. I really should not stay up so late, can't think straight, get lost in the flow.

Four after the beginning. I have created ambrosia broach and the amber broach. The first stimulates being drunk and the other cures headaches. I think. Now the question is why the hell did I make these damn things. Well the last one makes sense. Wait why is the amber broach blue? Amber is supposed to be yellowish brown. Wait the ambrosia one is brownish yellow. I think I fucked something up.

Five, five long hours past bed time. I have mastered the art of flower weaving. I've made a skirt, top, bra, and thong all out of flowers from the garden. I think Meinas going to be pissed. Oh well they were ugly flowers anyway. I'll plant some real flowers, big ones in vibrant colors. Not this earth shade crap. Seriously what the hell world. Gray, Brown, and Green flowers. Well that might have been the previous owners fault.
>>
>>20918773
Six, Sun up. I have carved every song I can think of into the brickwork of the courtyard. I plan on filling it up someday.

Six thirty. Oh, hey someone is coming though the gate.

“Hey, Lilly. How was your walk of shame.

“Sucked ass.”

“Good, Meina really was worried about you.”

“Yeah I have a lot of apologizing to do. To a lot of people.”

“What spurned this drunken revelation.”

“Something Lem said about listening, got me thinking about all the things people have told me that I ignored. I realized I was out of control. And frankly I am amazed anyone puts up with me.”

“Deep and well thought out for one drunken night.”
“A lot of the things I heard Lem and Kikki say where things you had said and things I knew. I think I just had to hear it in the right circumstances.”
>>
>>20918779
“I figured. I've said it before and will again. You and Meina need normal friends. They can be a good influence on you. And the friends that stick with you when you really fuck up, that's when you know you have a keeper.”

“What about you?”

“Friends, I've made friends here and there, but my best ones are here.”

“But don't you need normal friends to balance you too.”

“I am far gone to one side. Its why I like this out of the way castle as apposed to some house in the city. Anyway enough of this emo angsty bullshit. You need to go apologize to Meina. You really pushed things last night.”

“What about you?”

“Its the same reason why I can't always do for you what you need. Love the both of you to much and as long as your both happy I can't ever see me being mad with the either of you. How are you feeling?”

“Little pain, tired. Why?”

“Well technically you weren't drunk. The magic was stimulating the effects of being drunk. See alcohol has a chemical in it called GABA. This shuts down the transmission and reception of neurotransmitters. The more you drink the more GABA you get, the more GABA you get the more fucked up. Eventually it puts you in a coma. That's what happens when you get pass out drunk. And since you burn off such chemicals they can't effect you. So the only thing effecting you was all in your head.”

“And I give a fuck why?”

“SORRY, I tend to ramble after staying up though out the night.”

“I never asked you to.”

“You don't have to, I care about you. It what people do. The only reason Meina isn't out here is because she wasn't worried about you 'cuz I kept assuring her that you would be ok. Now about apologizing to Meina. She had her heart set on having some fun with you. So what I am thinking, let her have her fun. Then apologize to her.”
>>
>>20918782
“Sounds like good advice, but I am new to this whole listing thing.” Lilly said walking off towards the door.

“I just remembered what I made these damn things for. Catch.” I said tossing her the amber broach.

“What does it do?”

“Makes the user act drunken while wearing it.”

“Fuck you too.”

“I promise no hangover after you remove it. And it is for Meina, she really wanted this. Which is strange for her. Finally found her tough streak.”

“I am confused, Meina's always giving me a hard time about being less perverted. Getting someone drunk for the purpose of sex seems to swing in the other direction.”

“People are complicated. If she didn't enjoy your antics she would have done something awhile ago. She just wants you to think about the time, place, and circumstances. But you two can talk all that over later.”

“For Meina.”

“Right. By the way Lilly even though you think you look horrible you still look beautiful.”

“That's just cause you have a thing for wounded women. And tear stained ripped dress, running makeup, and a bad night sell the look. Plus Succubus powers. Now can you help me with this broach?”

“Sure.”

I helped Lilly with the broach and caught her as she went down. I had remembered what the amber one did. It was the sleepy drunken hangover, Lilly would be mad latter. But hey she shouldn't have made us worry. I carried the sleepy and goofy succubus into the bedroom, where Meina had one hell of a setup waiting.

It's funny Lilly seems to be a goofy drunk, but last night she got mean. I think it had something to do with Lem. She does hate to lose. Which was why as Meina said she was going to hate every minute of this.
>>
>>20918788

“Hey, Meina wake up, look who drunkenly stumbled their way in.”

“-Yawn- She looks horrible. Is she all right?” Meina said, getting up out of bed.

“Shes fine, little tired, hungover, but all in all shes a ok.”

“I almost feel bad about what I am going to do. But she got me good last night, I had never been so embarrassed.”

I helped Meina get Lilly situated, tying up a tail is very hard to do.

“I am going to go take a nap, Try not to have too much fun with out me.”

“Not going to have a little fun yourself?”

“From everything you have out this looks like an all day affair. Start slow I'll be back in three hours.”

“That I can do, some one is in for three hours of tickling.”

“You two are made for each other.”

With that I went off to a different bed room and grabbed some Z's. I later joined Meina and Lilly. Meina had quickly stripped Lilly of clothes, including the broach so Lilly was back to being as she was when she first got back.
>>
>>20918796
Anyway after a few hours of kinky mind blowing sex Meina had mercy on Lilly and untied her. Which of course led to more sex as now it was Lilly's turn to bat. After much sexing everyone finally had it out of their system. Which led to us lying on the bed in a heap.

“Hey Menia, I'm sorry about last night and for not listing to you. I'll stop.”

“Lilly I don't want you to stop, I just want you to think about when and what is appropriate. I enjoy going along for the ride. Like the volleyball tournament, that was fun. Giving Bella and Kuro that toy was funny. Even the tail thing last night was fun, you got me good. I was really embarrassed. What I don't want you doing is going around fucking everything you can and trying to get in peoples pants. I was mad at you lastnight about the tail I was mad at you for how you were treating our friends.”

“Ok, mad about treating friends badly. What about that being normal stuff you were talking about.”

“Some times I would just like to have a calm time with you. That's why some times I just disappear with Jim. We're not out doing anything special, just relaxing and enjoying each others company. You know like we used to do before you gave me that bell.”

“You know you two, you're sexual relationship is a lot like said bell. It's a lot of fun to openly wear. But to much and it gets tiresome and frustrating. Some days you want to wear the bell and let it ring. Others you just want normal.”

“So, how about we hit the baths and get cleaned up, I promise not to get gropey.”

I laid a hand on Lilly's breast and gave it a good squeeze.

“I don't know about Meina, but I could go for a little tantric sex.”

“Just touching and feeling? I could go for that, nice hot bath with bubbles and candles.”

“I promise nothing, but I'll try.”

“That's all I ask Lilly.'
>>
>>20918801
Welp yet another try at emotional crap. If yall have anything to say let me know.
>>
>>20918820
For the record, it wasn't purely a psychological effect. The magic of the Rye actually does everything normal alcohol does, except since it's magic, it isn't burned off. The magic kind of piggy-backs off of the booze and enters the bloodstream like a sort of "Ghost Alcohol" even if the booze it's piggybacking on is burned off. Still shuts down neurotransmitters like normal, though I imagine with demon physiology there's a point of diminishing returns, which is the only reason Lilly didn't go catatonic from drinking about 400mL of 120 proof whiskey all at once.

It was after the birth of the last of my children(AA 11) that I encountered what was, in my opinion, one of the most wondrous creatures of this realm: the dire wolf. Wolves in the old world are cunning creatures in their own right, using group tactics to ambush and bring down much larger prey than themselves, but these creatures put their old world counterparts to shame. For one, they are much larger, somewhere around the size of a pony, and for another, they have an almost human level of intelligence about them.

Our encounter with them was…less than promising. Specifically a group of them ambushed us. Imagine, for a moment, being attacked by a group of animals capable of bringing down manticores and small dragons, both of which I’ve seen happen, and that they have more than just size and savagery to back them up. Many of us were wounded, a few of whom would never recover, but we managed to fend them off, killing all but one of them.

I left most of the group back at camp to patch up the wounded and took Bethany with me to track the last one back to their den. Such creatures could not be allowed to menace others, or so I thought at the time. The trail was easy enough to follow since the last one had been grievously wounded, but what we found there gave me pause. The last one was a she wolf, and in her den were a litter of wolf cubs. Thinking back to a tidbit of history from the old world, I remembered that early man domesticated wolves to make modern dogs by catching and taming wolf pups, and in this I saw opportunity. The mother had to be put down, there was no way around this since she would die of her wounds anyway, but we took the six pups back to camp with us.

Regrettably, we had to turn around and head back to Teegee because of our wounded, not something the council was pleased with since there was little treasure to be had aside from a large number of animal pelts, to include those of the five dire wolves, which blessedly sold for enough to cover the costs and give everyone at least a little bit of pay for their troubles.

The puppies I had originally planned on training as pets and just giving to my five children, but the more I thought about the pups themselves the less sense the plan made. They were still feral animals, for all intents and purposes, and it was never a good idea to use such creatures as pets, but as I watched them in the back of the wagon on the way back I started to notice that they were a very friendly group, especially after they got your scent and decided you were not a threat. Well, nothing risked, nothing earned, I suppose.

I gave five of them to my son and daughters, six and three at the time, and kept the sixth one for myself. They were understandably excited and the pups and the children formed a bond, one stronger than what I’d seen with humans and dogs in the old world, almost seeming magical in nature. Both they and I claimed to be able to speak with the wolves and them with us. Perhaps it was magical, or perhaps I was just going crazy by that point, who’s to say?
>>
>>20918962

I'd like to know where you get this magic alcohol.

One of the other things we started to notice was that these pups were intelligent, frighteningly so at times. We quickly learned, for example, that anything left unattended in the kitchen was not likely to be there if left for more than a few minutes. “Is a man not entitled to the ham on his own counter,” I once asked? “No,” says the wolf that was in the opposite end of the house a moment ago, “it belongs to me!” I had that one coming, I admit.

Strange as it was, the pups grew up at a rate similar to each of my children they were bonded to, meaning that Sif, the wolf I chose, grew at an almost frightening rate, reaching his full size in only 2 years, and were also the reason I never could have any ham. I used to like ham. He had his benefits, of course. He was amazing at tracking, being a wolf, and had an incredible amount of power behind both his jaws and legs, being able to crush bones through armor and bowl over mounted warriors and their horses. He was also very fond of playing pranks on the order’s recruits, something I confess I likely took as much joy in as he did. Nothing harmful, of course, but it also served the added purpose of teaching some of them to sleep lighter, something that and questing knight needs to learn to help prevent ambushes.

Once I was satisfied that Sif was not going to be getting any bigger, I had a set of armor commissioned for him, a fine rig of plate, padded and articulated just right so that it didn’t interfere with his movements but still gave him a degree of protection. I later splurged and had it redone as mithril and enchanted in a similar manner as my own armor, but that wasn’t until after my children had started adventuring. My harem joked at times that I seemed to love those wolves more than them, something I found hard to argue against considering how many times Sif had saved me and the fact that he followed me everywhere.

There was also the added bonus of the peoples of the north reacting in a much more respectful manner when they see the dire wolves. Seems they long ago learned to respect the creatures, a lesson I’m glad we learned, even if I do admit I miss having ham. Cursed wolves never did let me have any of it after they came into our home. I call it a fair trade, in the end.

Well its more magical than psychological or chemical in Lilly's case. Poisons work in different ways. As Outrelmers our bodies might have developed a resistance to some toxins they haven't been exposed to in the new work, similar to, say, how native americans react worse to alcohal than europeans do. It can still be fatal in large enough amounts and its effects in the same amounts are much less pronounced, but they are still there.

If all else fails, something to do with the magic that brought us here makes us resistant.
>>
>>20919625
Here's an easy one: Say the danger of the poison is based on a deadly allergic reaction, and thus you don't die from it because you don't have the reaction. This can be due to simply not being from this world and being able to neutralize this chemical is part of being "fit" so to speak, due to exposure in the Old Realm.

One day, I felt the need, the need that so many of the Out Realmers felt once we found ourselves in a safe place, the need for adventure. My place as the Captain of the Guard and my love for Evette were the only things keeping me in Castle Waifu, and as I walked the same path every day to the keep, I felt the need growing faster and faster. Waking up one morning in my bed, the blankets all sufficiently hogged on Evettes side of the bed, I rolled to the edge of my bed, the warm and smooth wooden planks of my floor met my feet with comfort, and I slowly rose to my feet. Trying to be quiet, I found my way around the small bedroom in the dark, putting on what I assumed were my pants and boots, and slowly crept out into the kitchen to find some food before I went to the keep. I got my hands on some bread and honey, and proceeded to my armor rack, honey-bread in my mouth. I slipped on my tunic and gloves, and began to belt on my segmented armor plating. When I got to my breastplate, I was having difficulties cinching the strap tight enough. I danced around rather foolishly trying to get this right when I a hand fell upon mine, and guided it to the strap. Pulling it tight I let my head fall with a smile as I turned around to see Evette, arms crossed in a nightie. I opened my mouth to speak, but she gave me the usual look of “You big silly idiot” and shooed me out the door. Once outside, I looked down to see that I had indeed put on my own pants and boots, and felt rather proud of myself.
>>
>>20920033

I strode through the town within the walls, shops beginning to open, and bakers working away with their daily routines. The cobbled stone walkways snaked through the markets and home districts, leading me past many early risers out and about in the wee hours of the morning. Waving and exchanging pleasantries was part of the job at that point, as seeing how the people were doing was really my only job. I saw elves on balconies shaking out rugs, felim florists setting up their stall, an outrealmer being chased and scolded by a minotauress, the usual goings on in Castle Waifu. It was a good feeling to see the people this happy and care-free, and it felt even better that I was the one who organized their protection so that they could be this care-free. I was getting out of the housing district when I walked through the pillared gateway of the mansion district. The large and ornate homes carpeted with beautiful gardens, statuaries and ponds. I made my way up the ascending hills towards the keep as I saw a dryad tending to one of the stately homes’ gardens; she smiled and waved as her nature magics spurred a rosebush to life. Waving back as I walked past I felt the need again, it had been building up ever since the Ork invasion those few years ago, and I had never been able to act on it.

It's also why GearHeat wears those goggles.

>>
>>20920043

Upon reaching the main keep, I walked up the many staircases towards my office, making way for the many servants and maids that keep the castles interior so clean and tidy. Once in my office, I checked to see if anyone had left me any notes or messages, and with the discovery of nothing new, I proceeded back down the stairs to the walls where I peered down into the barracks. I saw the newest group of Men-at-Arms being trained with dummy swords, and as well as some pikemen doing drills on the far side of the field. Sufficiently appeased with the results, I began my patrol around the walls, stopping to talk to the wall guards to fill me in on anything they have seen for the night, and dismissing them as the day guards began to filter into their positions. With nothing new, I took my spot atop a square block tower on the North-Eastern corner, facing the elven lands. I found myself staring off into the distance, the mountains to my left and the forests spreading as far as I could see. It was late in the afternoon before I realized how much time had passed and began to walk around the walls again. I was greeted with a friendly smile as the unmistakable face of Evette sauntered over to me, carrying a small caste iron pot. She saw me staring off into the distance, and her face dropped into that of concern.
>>
>>20920050

“What’s wrong? You don’t look well Giovanni.” She questioned, handing the small pot over to my gloved hands.
“I feel like I should be out there, exploring, adventuring. But I cannot go; too many people depend upon me to be here in the castle watching over things and… well, you.” I responded.

She sidled up to me with her arm around my waist, and put her head on my shoulder.

“I know this must be hard for you, but I will follow you anywhere, you know that.” She said softly. “You have done so much for me, as well as the people in the castle. It may not be anything anyone has noticed, nothing worthy of bards tales or written in the annals of time, but without them, we would certainly be in a different spot than we are today.”

I looked down at her, seeing her face red and teary eyed, and nearly did the same myself. I put my free hand around her and gave her a gentle rock back and forth.

“That means a lot to me… thank you.” I responded, a little choked up.

The night came swiftly as we stood together, and with our return to our home, we ended the night sitting together, talking about many things with many outcomes. One of such things could alter the feel of Castle Waifu for some time.

We just ask that you try not to break the setting or kill off anyone else's character.

Funny that happens to be GearHearts/My motto

I'm thinking it's a good idea for any trade caravans from Teegee to fly guidons on their lead wagon to show where they are from and to determine which trade laws are applicable to them. It could also serve as a deterant to bandits, letting them know that the Caravan Guard is protecting this group.

Sound like a good idea?
>>
>>20921127
Sounds like a good plan to me! Unless we make an enemy who specifically loves raiding Teegee caravans. But even then, the benefits outweigh the risks.
>>
>>20921127
Sounds like something we'd do, but probably only on the road. At market, it would be best to be as nondescript as possible in order to avoid problems with scaring people from trade.

My father may not have always been there for us, but he always did his best to see that we were taken care of when he wasn’t. We would never want for anything coming up, something that couldn’t be said for some people outside of the Harem Knight’s realm, and thanks to the efforts of many of the knights, including my father and Sirs Kasai and Giovanni of the Homeguard, our homes were well protected from outside threats.

Father had a strange habit of jumping between training recruits and going on bouts of adventure, taking me and my siblings along later on and often bringing our mothers along, but none of these trips were ever without their benefits. Wealth, even if most of it didn’t make it our way, something father never seemed very concerned about, artifacts that were either issued out, given as gifts, or simply sold in any of the various markets, but once in a while he would find something special. Frostsilk worms, the creatures that make the threads for frostweave were found on one such trip north, as were the litter of dire wolves he brought home.

I was six at the time, already helping mother in the store after school, when father brought the puppies home from one of his trips. Horo was the runt of the litter, but we took an instant liking to one another. Before then I’d only heard of common wolves, but father explained that these were dire wolves, slightly different creatures. None of us had seen wolves up close before, but father explained most of what we needed to know, well, explained to me, my siblings were too young to understand much more than ‘new toy’ at the time.
>>
It was a bit funny when we learned just how smart these wolves were. I remember it turning into a contest to see who could figure out how to wolf-proof something, but it usually ended with one of us locking ourselves out of it and getting one of the wolves to open it for us. I also seem to remember father’s wolf, Sif, loves ham.

Our wolves became our best friends. They grew up with us, as strange as that was, especially when I remember father’s being much larger than ours were, but I could swear they almost talked to us sometimes. They also had a strange habit of keeping us away from some people. I can remember Horo never letting me near miss Lily’s shop, no matter how much I begged her, but when I got a little older and found out what the store sold I figured it was a good thing she kept me away.

Horo was a remarkably good judge of character, a trait she showed very often once I started running caravans for mother’s company. She somehow had a sense of when someone was trying to rip me off on something I was unfamiliar with and even saved me on more than one occasion when we were attacked by bandits. A fully grown dire wolf is more guard than any caravan ever needed.

I remember one trip to Bolateria, one of the main cities in the Free Kingdoms we dealt with, my convoy was attacked no less than four times on the way. You would have thought that they would get the hint and avoid any group that bore the colors of Teegee, especially if they had the personal banner of the Artorias family, but I suppose intelligence was never a strong point for anyone who chose to be a bandit. Well, that or they just thought those banners were for decoration instead of a warning to any would-be attackers.
>>
Anyway, we were carrying a shipment of frostweave garments for the trading house of Horst, the one my parents had established an agreement with some time ago. He always gave us a fair price on goods and we did the same for him, though I know he was still making gold hand over fist from the arrangement. His house, better described as a castle, could attest to that.

Mathew, the head of his house at the time, invited me in to visit that time, unusual according to one of the other merchants that rode with me since he usually dealt with Mother through his majordomo. I could hardly refuse such an offer, though he wasn’t initially thrilled at the fact that I wanted to bring Horo with me. She behaved herself though and seemed to take a liking to him. His cooks were less than thrilled at the idea of feeding such a huge wolf, in a manner much unlike her behavior back home, she stayed out of the kitchen and seemed content to spend most of the time sleeping by the fire.

Mathew had an odd obsession with my father and his stories, strange when, aside from a handful of events, my father never seemed all that impressive in feats of arms, strategy, or even overall achievements when compared to the other Harem Knights, owing to his habit of jumping between jobs as often as he does. It might have been the fact that father was just the first one of reputation to come here, or maybe it was just that the incident of the Abyss had still been fresh in everyone’s minds, or maybe it was just father’s habit of bringing bards along for everyone’s entertainment, but whatever the reason, his like of the subject matter was helpful to us.

It turned out he had a degree of interest in me because I was my father’s daughter, and while he was handsome enough, he also said that protocols for someone in his position would forbid a relationship. His loss, I suppose, though that did explain why he never dealt with mother directly.

We ended up spending most of the night chatting, mostly about father, but also about some of the other knights, parts of the world we had seen, different products that we had never seen or heard of yet, including a few foods he brought out for me to try. It was a rather enjoyable night, all told.

Horo, strangely enough, decided she liked apples better than the beef the cooks had been bringing her. Even after all these years, those wolves never cease to amaze me.

I'm not 100% on how effective some of the magics are that would be cheap enough for a merchant company to employ. Transporting ice cream involves enclosed wagons filled with ice and sawdust.

I suppose I could go with them transporting a load of furs through the shires on their way to somewhere else, but that still begs the question of preserving the fruit without having it dried out first. Heheh, what political relations? My character is the primary diplomat and statesman, so I'm probably best to talk about political relations, and I can tell you, with the Elves we have none. They're perfectly content keeping to their forests and pretending we don't exist, or would if we didn't seem like such a wonderful place to go for their oppressed women.

In either case, it gives them a nice little buffer against the Mirthans, who they hate just a little less than us. In fact, the only people the Elves have ANY diplomatic relations with are the Dwarves, and they've been at war off and on for the past thousand or so years.

War was something every civilization knew. During the first ages of man it was simple. Go to the place of your enemy and kill them all. But with the coming of ages it changed.
How it was waged, how the rules was and even to it's basics.

Studying war was something i was good at. Waging it was another matter.

During the first day of Teegee it was hell as everyone you know would say. Hell i almost died of starvation. On a side note the starvation really help some of us lose weight.
Anyways im sure everybody have heard of this part so let's skip to parts where everybody has not heard.

Did anybody ever told how we were to beat the elves in the first war?

It was not because we were good warriors. No it was more of the opposite. We were not so physical guys from somewhere far far away. But we were smart.

Me and my unit which was made of a few volunteer felins were scouted the hell out of that place. From what we gathered . The elves disciplined and great warriors relied on a small number of Sergeants. A day before the knight of the attack. Me and my unit was sent to scout yet again.

This night however we had an oppurtunity to good to be true.

In their barracks, celebration was heard very loudly. Apparently one of the sergeants were having his nameday and the whole barracks was in a festivities.

From what we saw in the courtyard all the higher ups were nowhere to be found. One of my felins spotted them in the second floor in the barracks having their own private party.

Then a thought came to my mind. Killing them would cause a heavy blow in their effectiveness in the battle the next day. I shared this idea with my teammates and we tried to make a plan on how to do this.

Mind you whoever is reading this. High command only sent us to scout not to perform a high profile killing so we didnt have that much resource

>Implying you guys didn't just go out to scout because you were the only ones with any sense.

My sides, they're moving on their own

Well GearHeart was playing Rambo 4. Also well at least I'm not the only one giving the new guy a hard time.
>>
Archived the thread.

>>20925713
Well lets face it. I liked calling the guys in Teegee high command makes me feel like Im solid snake or something.
we could always put it i tried to make us look good. And yes we were acting on my own.
>>
>>20925750
I am starting to think English is not your first language.
>>
>>20925656

From the looks of it though even if we do kill them , it would be a very heavy blow for them for having drunk officers in a battle.

Anyways, we formulated a plan with whatever we have.
i had 20 felims. There was six windows near the wall . It had a door leading to the barrack's courtyard. The walled part were the very side of their city.
>>
>>20925768
It is not. But please do tell me what is wrong with my writing. Everyone needs improvement
>>
>>20925787 It might be easier to show.
War was something every civilization knew. During the first ages of man it was simple. Go to the place of your enemy and kill them all. But with the coming of ages it changed.
How it was waged, what the rules were and even it's basics.

Studying war was something I was good at. Waging it was another matter.

During the first days of Teegee it was hell as everyone you know would say. Hell I almost died of starvation. On a side note the starvation really help some of us lose weight.
Anyways I'm sure everybody has heard of this part so let's skip to parts that not everybody has heard.

Did anybody ever tell of how we were to beat the elves in the first war?

It was not because we were good warriors. No it was more of the opposite. We were not some physical guys from somewhere far far away. But we were smart.

Me and my unit, which was made of a few volunteer felims were scouting the hell out of that place. From what we gathered, the elves disciplined and great warriors relied on a small number of Sergeants. A day before the night of the attack. Me and my unit was sent to scout yet again.

That night however we had an oppurtunity to good to be true.

>>20925750
No, that's quite fine. Watch the grammar and frame it as you like.
>>20925779
>20 Felim
Now you see it's stuff like That that makes me raise an eyebrow.
>>
>>20925850 Not sure what a nameday is so I'm leaving that alone.
In their barracks they were celebrating very loudly. Apparently one of the sergeants were having his nameday and the whole barracks was in a festivities.

From what we saw in the courtyard all the higher ups were nowhere to be found. One of the felims spotted them on the second floor in the barracks having their own private party.

Then a thought came to my mind. Killing them would cause a heavy blow to their effectiveness in the battle the next day. I shared this idea with my teammates and we tried to make a plan on how to do this.

Mind you whoever is reading this. High command only sent us to scout, not to perform a high profile killing. So we didn't have that much in the way of resources.

>If you have any questions I and others will be happy to help with grammar and punctuation.
>>
>>20925873
Must not have seen four. When he kills fuck tons of people with just his machete. Its why I said four and not two or three. And he was most definitely not playing one.
>>
>>20925910

Nameday would be similar to a birthday, if not the exact same thing.
>>
>>20925941
I figured, but I wasn't sure. So where is that turn of phrase from? I'm going to guess India.

>>
>>20925969
I heard from Game of thrones. I thoughtt you guys knew so i used it.
>>
>>20925969
India does have one of the cultures where they name you on a day separate from where you're born, and place more importance on that day. But they aren't the only ones.
>>
>>20925987

The concept of a Nameday has been around far longer than that.
>>
>>20925873
Also what's wrong with 20? I am sorry i didnt know the statistics of how many were the felims that joined us in the first days
>>
I had my best Felims to try to block the door from the outside. Thankfully they were not seen putting the big plank on the door which was very lucky of them.

Next step was to put them in position. I placed two Felims in each of the outlying windows. One to sneak through a window in the first floor and would go up to the stairs. In which she would take out the lights which would be a signal to go in the windows. ( In which they have already opened) and do the deed.

With the plan set they went on to do it and i was left in the forest. Being the one not doing the deed made me feel well powerless. Here I am sending people I hardly knew towards danger. Hopefully nothing would go wrong
>>
>>20925987
You I hated games of thrones so there is that. But like Fluffy said I knew India named the kids on a different day so safe bet.

>>20925988
Use pop culture like that lightly and only in places it makes sense.

>>20926006
It's a little high is all. Also I think how you to refer to them is a bit off, due to language/thought differences. When you say my it implies you own them or really close bonds. Not always is it this way but how you use it, it comes off that way.
>>
>>20926006
Probably somewhere around a few hundred. Maybe a thousand, but I doubt that.
>>
>>20926038
In terms of the use my it meant as subordinates. I am sorry for the misconceptions. Also so we still use the term birthday than nameday?
>>
>>20926006
Oh no, there were a good few hundred. The tribe was made up of at least three clans, but scouting parties by tradition are as small as they need to be, usually five or less. It only takes one man to count forces and pass the information.

Additionally, I don't think a high level assassination that you're suggesting would be realistic if we want to take them by surprise in any more than an hour, maybe two. Perhaps if you took a small party out ahead and did the scouting, but otherwise, if we managed to kill their commanders, then they might take us more seriously than they did.
>>
>>20926070
I know what you meant, what I am saying is that it doesn't come off that way entirely. And yes, unless other wise mentioned we don't just rip things from other things.

So Ranc, where are you from? My money has you speaking French, so from some where they speak it maybe?
>>
>>20926111
Filipino living in hong kong. Did the south east asian warrior show no hint?

>>20926107
From what i heard about the elven attack. We just stormed in there and killed everything. Now the assasination was done in the cover of night hours before the attack. Because of the deaths of their superiors and waking up to an attack. That is how i am implying that we manage to kill them off even though we were martially in a disadvantage.
>>
>>20926154
You had no connection to that post. I though that the two posted where made by different people.

Also your lack of under standing when it comes to war is showing.
>>
>>20926154
We killed them by zerg rushing them with almost two thousand crazed fa/tg/uys and Felim.
>>
>>20926205
Then please tell me what is wrong?
>>
>>20926231
A thousand, but close enough.

On an unrelated note, this thread is autosaging. Does anyone want to make a new one?
>>
>>20926242
In this case the only reason Teegee won was a complete and total surprise. Any sort of odd occurrence would put them on a higher guard. Thus making the battle harder to win. Also going back to whos who. Keep your name on in this thread it makes it easier to keep things straight
>>
>>20926154
Also Filipino in hong kong was sixth on my list of possible places. It was India, France, Greece, Israel, Pakistan, then Filipino. They tend to structure their words in a similar way when they are still newish to English.
>>
>>20926269
I wasnt changing anything of such thing. The killings were done hours before the attack. In the story the bodies were suppose to be hidden in the storeroom and subsequently be caught on fire accidentally.
>>
>>20926344
Those are probably posers. Nothing like separating you from poor people back at home than being able to speak english!
>>
>>20926352
Ok I'll go over this in detail. Missing leader leads to being more weary. Random fire even more so. Hours before the attack gives them time to get ready. What warfare do you study? In the early days of Teegee we used a good old swarm and it worked. In latter years we developed into squad based tactical warfare.
>>
>>20926430
Mostly bits and pieces really that i find in the library. Wont get to the good stuff till college

Can you get that? Or should I?

>>20926504
Ah, my favorite period of study would be that of Genghis Khan, My least the time of the British Empire. The whole stand in a line and take turns firing at each other was beyond retarded. And as for modern military tactics why bother when the best one is hourly bombardment from drones.

>>20926535
That he did.

Also on a totally different subject I can't wait for episode three of Hellsing abridged.

Musket and line infantry was the worst time to be soldier. You had more odds of living fighting Russians as serbia than living if you are in the first rank

Europe went pants-on-head retarded when they got their hands on gunpowder. Those were the kind of tactics you'd expect out of RTS unit AIs.

just go watch boondock saints

If you are in a senior in high school, that's possible, but it's also far more likely you're underageb&. At the very least, pretend to be a freshman in college. Better than a high schooler.
>>
>>20926615
I'm halfheartedly joking about indoctrination and how college is really just teachers forcing their world views on you. Its funny when you take a sociology class and the teacher admits this.

>>20926629
Amen to that. Oh well they did better than the Native Americans did at first. Lets surround them in a circle and just start shooting.

boondock saints.

No its not I came up with that like a week ago.
>>
>>20926666
I wish there was a RTS game with better unit AI. Impossible to use advanced tactics without micro-managing every single unit. Really annoying, so I always end up spamming infinite hordes.
>>
>>20926723
It's why I prefer more traditional games of war.
