You are Shy-chan, an overwhelmingly shy roleplayer. This is your story.

Previous thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/20897152/

"Alright DM-bro, I think enough is enough. Im done catering to your fetishes." Slutty-san stands up in a huff.

"It is very plot relevant and vaguely historically accurate. If you look at the rate of inbreeding at the time..." DM-bro counters, weakly.

"I dont give a flying fuck if you based this off of a real life event," Slutty-san retorts "Im not going through with this."

"Alright, whatever. Just give me a little while to think up an alternate plot then. It is getting pretty late, so lets just call it a night." DM-bro finally concedes.

The party stands up and stretches. Waitress-chan was pretty quiet through the entire endeavor, only asking a few questions to determine exactly what was going on through the entire session. The session apparently lasted 6 hours, if you include the Pizza break the party took midway through.

It is now 9 PM. Your group is not set to meet tomorrow, but you are due for classes at 11 AM.

Wat do?

"... did you have fun, Friend-kun?"

"Well, it was a little too... you know, but I still had quite a bit of fun. You should have seen your face after those drunk shenanigans." He starts to grin.

Your face flares up just remembering it. You quickly look away.
".. well, you know..."

"Sooooo, Friend-kun-kun. Are you sessions usually this dirty?" Waitress-chan pushes herself into the conversation.

"Not usually, but occasionally DM-bro can get a little out of hand. Anyway, Waitress-chan, you were pretty quiet. What did you think?"

She thought about it for a moment.
"Well, I usually play science fiction style games, but this is pretty cool too. I would be willing to join, if I can get a chance."

You tug on Friend-kun's sleeve. He bends over. You whisper in his ear.

When he straightens, he asks Waitress-kun what kinds of games she is into.

"Now now Shy-chan-chan, you can ask me questions for yourself." She smiles. Then she remembers that other time. Her smile quickly drops. She turns to Friend-kun.
"Well, I was playing a trading game in space with my other group before it fell apart. Then I started collecting and painting models to play wargames with. Sadly, Im not in a secure enough place financially to continue that. This seems a pretty decent compromise, even if it isnt my usual style."
>>
>>20910743
I guess I'm a bit late to the vote on this one, but it sounds like a good idea. If there's any possibility at all that Friend-kun might start DMing a space opera, we need to be at the table.

A macbook is a computer. A shitty computer. Custom built PCs running a linux distro are the way to go.

"... well I suppose you guys could come in."

"That is why we came here, after all." Friend-kun points out.

You lead the two up to your apartment. Your hands are shaking while you put the keys to your lock. You finally insert the correct key and swing your door open.

"...welcome, make yourselves at home..."

They remove their shoes at the door, placing it in the rack that you keep there, then walk down the short hallway leading to your living room. There is a small loveseat barricading their way. They walk around it, and Waitress-chan sits in it. Friend-kun takes his usual place in the nearby chair. The only other furniture in the room is a small coffee table.

You, still standing motionless at the door, remove your own shoes.

"..sorry it is so plain."

"No big deal. It is... cozy." She glances around the room at the empty walls. There is no television to be seen, nor anything really decorating the walls. The coffee table has a pile of newspaper in the middle, and a stack of coasters in the center, close to the loveseat.

You walk down the short hallway, taking a left rather than going straight.

You are now in the kitchen/dining room. Your pie is in the fridge. There is also some orange juice, water, milk, and you think there might be some Kool-aid mix in the cupboard. There is also a microwave and toaster in the corner.

Gonna say go with this.
>>
".. would anybody like something to drink?"

"Water would be fine." Friend-kun mentions.
"Yeah, that would work." Waitress-chan agrees.

You pull out a couple of glasses and pour some water into them. You carefully carry then glasses out then put them on the table, on their own coasters.

"Thanks, Shy-chan" Friend-kun smiles at you.
"Yeah, thanks." Waitress-san parrots. She then lifts up her glass and takes a drink. When she returns it to the table, she misses the coaster.

Now we have to find some way to distract both of them so you can fix the glass without them noticing.

You try to ignore the glass on the table as you sit in the only remaining seat, on the loveseat. This puts you between Waitress-chan and Friend-kun.

Noticing the glass on the table, Friend-kun takes initiative. He lifts he glass, moves the coaster under it, then grabs his own glass before taking a sip. All in one, fluid motion.

"I can take this loveseat." Waitress-chan suggests before you complete the thought.

"Do you have any extra blankets? I can just sleep on the floor." Friend-kun offers.

"... well, yes..."

"Then it is settled. Slumber Party at Shy-chan's house!" Waitress-chan exclaims.

Oh god, what are you going to do? You have never been to a sleepover, let alone hosted one.
>>
>>20912455
In a quiet voice, as if we have another type of voice.

"I've never had a slumber party before. Nobody ever invited me. Are they fun?"
>>
Alright, saw the OP, and I gotta ask- What the hell is with the guy on the far left?

Seriously, what the Christ is with that face?
>>
>>20912455
>"Do you have any extra blankets? I can just sleep on the floor." Friend-kun offers.

NO

WE MUST SACRIFICE OUR BED FOR FRIEND KUN
>>
>>20912455
Should we go FULL SPAGHETTI and offer truth or dare?
>>
>>20912475
Alcoholism.
>>
>>20912455
run to a computer and google "how to sleepovers"
>>
>>20912480
Yeah! We don't want friend and waitress sleeping in the same room!
>>
>>20912455

Tell Friend Kun he can have your bed.

Alternatively, move your "bed" (blankets and stuff) next to his.
>>
>>20912475
He is crazy. And an Orc Berzerker, apparently. And an alcoholic. And a pretty cool bro.
>>
Simic, have Waitress-chan try to lesbo-kiss Shy-chan in spin the bottle.
>>
>>20912455

"I've never-" Panic, then go >>20912286

>>20912482

Nope. Nuh-uh.

If someone suggests this, we go out the window, to the fire-escape, and down the zip-line we installed in case of rapists breaking in.

Not that anybody would want us when there's the pretty blonde down the hall....
>>
>>20912485
After the way we rolled last time we tried to get someone drunk, which was only a couple hours ago and they were present? We would drown in spaghetti.

>>20912480
But yeah, sacrifice our bed. Later, we can lay face down on it and sniff out lingering traces of his scent.
>>
>>20912480
>>20912513
Second.
>>
It won't be an honest-to-god slumber party if they sleep in the living room and we sleep in our bed! You know what we must do!

Make a pillow fort, of course!
>>
>>20912528
>Later, we can lay face down on it and sniff out lingering traces of his scent.
That seems less shy and more creepy.
>>
>>20912527

>zip-line.

I want this to be canon. I want it so hard I can TASTE it.

It seems to be both wonderfully in AND out of character.
>>
>>20912528
perrrrfect
>>
>>20912474
This needs to be said.
>>
>>20912527
Come on now, that's too much.
>>
>>20912551
Sounds plenty shy to me. To not be able to ask for the real thing and just fantasize constantly.
>>
>>20912550
Pillow fort very yes.
>>
>>20912525
Im just going to say this now.

I am going to try to avoid Sex. I dont like where it ended up last thread, so I am going to try to avoid it. Yes, I realize the inevitability of having sex in this quest. I just hope there is actual a reason for it besides "I want to have sex with him." or "I like sex."

It is something like reverse inserting fetishes your campaigns. Yes, I will eventually have Shy-chan get laid.

I just want to hold out. I feel responsible for where she ends up in life, and I dont want her to be a slut.

Any major objections?
>>
>>20912607
Also, for those who need caught up on the story, I may as well post this now. This is the collection of the threads. You can reach the first thready by following the link in the second one.

No, but I still want my pillow fort.
>>
Say you'd feel bad leaving them in there while you're on a bed, offer to sleep with them... Using the worst wording imaginable.
>>
So, say we don't know how slumber parties work, make couch/pillow fort, and maybe suggest Blockbuster?

Personally, I like the Zip-Line, but I doubt it's going to come up even if it is real.
>>
>>20912607

Actually I wanted Shy-chan to do the typical "but girls can't do that!!!!!!" thing. Sex is lame yo.

I'm having enough fun with spaghetti that I don't feel the need to perv out at every opportunity.

Someday, there will be a food fight.
>>
>>20912550
we should roll a pillow fort save
>>
>>20912607
Perfectly understandable. I think the most Shy-chan could work herself up to would be sleeping in the same bed as someone and maybe waking up attached to their arm. Friend-kun is far too much of a gentleman to try anything and Shy-chan couldn't possibly work herself up to doing anything more than that.

>I just want to hold out. I feel responsible for where she ends up in life, and I dont want her to be a slut.
While I agree with you on keeping sex out of this for as long as possible. A girl having sex does not auto make her a slut.
>>
>>20912658
Having a threeway with your true love and a girl you just met that day does.

At least in my mind.

Anyway, I think I am going to try to type up some party preparations.
>>
>>20912631

That would've been hilarious.

>>20912607
>>20912671

Meh. I can see Shy having dirty thoughts and then not acting on them.

Personally, I don't mind a lack of sex. Even if Shy was a total Nympho waiting to happen, she's got way too many social anxiety problems for it to come up anytime soon.
>>
>>20912671
>Having a threeway with your true love and a girl you just met that day does.
I think I can agree with you on that. I just meant sex in general which is what I thought you meant. Carry on, sir.
>>
You have no idea what you are going to do. You excuse yourself then head for your closet. You put all of the things in here that you never thought you would need, but bought just in case.
Such as your spare bedding. You pull out a stream of pillows and blankets that you had tucked away right after you bought it. Then you locate your small television. It isnt much, but you dont watch TV, so you dont need any more. You also find a VHS player. Wow, it really has been a while. You also pull out a fold-able nightstand to hold the TV up.

You drag your spoils of war to the living room. You pile the blankets in the middle of the floor, set up the stand next to the wall and place the TV on top of it. Plugging the TV in, you now remember that it is not in color. You hook up the VHR and place it on top.

Wat do?
>>
>>20912745
Ask Friend and Waitress if we're doing it right. Tell them that we've never done this sort of thing before but we don't want to screw it all up.
>>
>>20912745
Turn around and observe the expressions on the faces of our guests in an attempt to gauge if we are doing this right at all.

Recall that our laptop computer has a color screen about the same size as the TV and much higher quality, and plays DVDs, then recall our web browsing history and continue setting up the TV.
>>
>>20912776
>recall our web browsing history
Does shy not private mode?
>>
>>20912807
I know I dont. But then again, my PC is my sanctum, and nobody gets near it except for me.
>>
>>20912807
No one else has ever touched her computer before, why would she?
>>
Admit you don't really have anything in the way of group activities outside of your old movie collection, ask for some suggestions if that doesn't tickle their fancy.
>>
>>20912818
Because no one ever touches mine and I still do?
>>
>>20912834
Perhaps after tonight she will after realizing her mistake.
>>
>>20912745
I'm actually surprised that Shy-chan knows what a VHR is, let alone has one. I mean, a true old school video tape nerd would probably have Betamax, and a normal person who grew up in the late 90s to mid 00s would probably go DVD player or PC drive instead.

>>20912821
Well, the old movies and the tabletop games stuff like we just spent 8-hours playing.
>>
"... well, to be honest, I havent really dont these things before... I dont really have anything to do..."

"It is fine. You have a TV... kind of... and Im sure we could find a board game somewhere. It isnt like we need too much. And if the need arises, we could always do a one-shot campaign. I can think of several plots we could use." Waitress-chan tries to be helpful.

"And worst case scenario, we just go to sleep early." Friend-kun also tries to help.
>>
>>20912892
It occurs to us that if Waitress-chan DMs, we're basically adventuring alone with Friend-kun. Asking for that straight up would be super embarrassing, though.
>>
>>20912892

"N-no! I mean..I have minatures. And some rulebooks for this game I play..sometimes."
>>
>>20912892
Nod, smile.

Put on a movie, I'm thinking the Princess Bride as everybody loves it. Quote it, from heart, under our breath.

Sit next to Friend.
>>
>>20912892
>One-shot campaign with just as and Friend-kun
Yes perfect

Attempt to enlist help in pillow fort construction from Friend-kun, and by extension, Waitress-chan. Search for a suitable RPG
>>
"... well, our roleplay didnt go as long today as it usually does... I could still play some more."

"Alright, but if I am the DM, we are going for my story. And I am a Sci-fi person." Waitress-chan advises.

Do you agree to play?
>>
>>20913011
Hey, sounds funsies.
>>
>>20913011
Hold onto Friend's sleeve, look to him for confirmation, then nod and say yes.
>>
>>20913011
Genre is irrelevant. The game begins and ends on who we play with, and therefore we cannot go wrong. Unless Waitress-chan is secretly more twisted than DM-bro.
>>
>>20913011
assemble a pillow fort to play in first
>>
>>20913031
>>20913024
Alright, then I need some ideas.

Unlike Waitress-chan here, I am not a Sci-fi person. Give me an idea for a campaign, preferably a oneshot. I can probably roll with it, but I dont have any ideas off the top of my head. Unless you guys want me to stop for tonight so I have the night to think about what I want to do
>>
>>20913011

We want to play a daring Space Pirate!

Gun in each hand, Lover on each Knee!

Scourge of the good folks of the void of space!

But that requires a much higher Charisma score than we have, so I guess we'll be a mechanic or something....
>>
>>20913011
Offer some of your Battlecudgel 40Billion minis as pc minis for this game.
>>
Also, for those wanting a pillow fort or to show off our minis, I dont think that is really in character. Hell, I havent even decided if we HAVE minis. If you really want to, roll 1d100 with a message saying what you want. If either side can get a median of 80+, Ill write it in.

Blade Runner/Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep style.

Players are detective types trying to track down a small group of humanoid replicants before they go to ground.

A matter of how well can we identify the fakes from the real people and whatnot.

Friend-kun is the pirate, and we're his sole companion, mechanic, gunnery officer, and... yknow. We wander the universe together in search of adventure and plunder!

I actually havent seen Firefly. I did, however, see Serendipity. So if you guys want that style, you would have to settle for that.
>>
>>20913132
Space Pirates, Blade Runner, and Firefly are all pretty good. I dunno which one you feel more familiar with.

Also just for the record, /tg/ dice use a very shitty pseudorandom number generator with a time based seed and thus rolls made at close to the same time tend to bunch together, so critfails/successes are probably going to be more common in this quest than they would be with actual dice.
>>
>>20913181
Serenity, rather. But you know what I mean.

>>20913221

To this day my favorite post in that quest was when some dude posted that 'the dice are Tsundere for Hayate'.

He got a nat 100. Felt... right, somehow.
>>
>>20913186

That suggests that there is an optimal time for rolling to get really good numbers.
>>
>>20913293
There is.
>>
>>20913191
>>20913181

If they want the firefly, and you don't think you can run it I can do it if you want.

I mean, it's a mostly glossed one-shot in a quest thread, who cares.

But if you want, I'll take the reins here.
>>
>>20913317

I know that's probably real, and has a logical thing behind it, but all I can see reading that is 'roll the ones out'.
>>
>>20913320
Eh, if he wasn't willing to go out of his comfort zone, Waitress-chan wouldn't have offered to DM, right?
>>
>>20913320
Well, I certainly dont have confidence in my Sci-fi skills. Then again, I am introducing Waitress-chan as a Sci-fi player, so it will come into play again, almost assuredly. And I would prefer not to have to rely on people too much, if I can help it. I almost think it would be best if I got some sort of help (Via IRC or something) and used somebody as a crutch rather than letting them go all out and "wheelchair" me through this.

Or I could take the night off, do a bit of homework for this, find a generic oneshot to base this off of, and do it all by myself. It is nearing the time I would normally call it a night anyway, so I dont see any harm either way.
>>
>>20913370
Up to you boss. You've been doing a fine job thus far, so I trust your judgement.
>>
>>20913370
Yeah, it's really your call. You wouldn't be the first DM-bro in this thread to call a game on that excuse, either. =D
>>
>>20913399
Oh you. But yeah, Im not going to exaggerate my abilities. This is my first Quest. I am not an excellent roleplayer, in fact, I have never actually taken part in one that lasted longer than two sessions. I know I am bad at this. The only thing I have a bit of confidence in is my writing. I have pretty much been coasting through this on /tg/'s abilities and my memory of various Animes. Seriously, if somebody really tried, they could pull apart the patchwork and find that I have done nothing original in this whole story.

On that note, I think I am going to just go off for the night. Now that I think about it, I believe I have something I need to do tomorrow. Ill try to be back Sunday, but if that fails me as well, I might just make this a Weekday thing. 20:00 4chan time works for me pretty consistently, so if you dont see me tomorrow or on Sunday, I will be back by Monday for sure. For now, I think I am going to open a IRC channel on Irc.thisisnotatrueending.com. This is the first major break of the campaign, so it might be bad to break off all contact for a couple of days. #Shy-chan should work.
>>
>>20913473
Well, you got more courage than I've had so far in just starting your first quest thread. And as for originality... There is nothing new under the sun. What's important is that everyone has fun.
>>
>>20913505
That rhymed, kinda.
>>
>>20913518
I might freak out if it happens to be iambic pentameter.
>>
>>20913473

You're actually doing fairly well for somebody with no experience.

Don't worry about being too original, we all crib our notes from somewhere. It's not coming up with something new, it's presenting what we know and like in a way we can appreciate.

It's a little rough around the edges, but the only real cure for that is to read/participate in other Quests, and keep going.

All in all, I'd give you a 7/10 before finding out this was a new bag to you, with that bit of bias I think we're at a 7.5. All in all, would HHHNNNGG again.
>>
>>20913473
Fuck. I just finished reading through the thread after hopping on late AND THERE HAVE BEEN NO BRUTAL FAILS.

MY LOVE OF SHY-CHAN'S COMPLETE AND UTTER SOCIAL ANXIETY HAS FAILED.
>>
>>20913568
There was one. It was just a preliminary fail, so there was no harm done.
>>
On that note, just found this quest thread. I understand that teegee has a thing for so goddamn shy it's ridiculous, but why does shy-chan need to be in a relationship so bad?

So far she seems pretty shallow as a person. We know that she is: creepily dependent on friend-kun, judging from some of the actions suggested- easily envious, weak in every sense so far, should probably be in a mental institution, and is just sort of painful to watch.

Everyone keeps talking about how adorable her sleeve tugging is, or how she's so sweet, but mostly she just seems to be the burden she thinks she is. Hell, we even saw that Slutty-san as a strong independent nature about her, no matter what her sexual proclivities may include.

We're not cute, we're not even shy. We're barely into social anxiety. We are clearly horribly mentally disabled. If we're going to play a mentally ill character, then we might as well recognize her as fucked up.

Congrats Shy-chan viewers.
>>
>>20913598
Part of the reason I'm so drawn to Shy-chan is because she is fundamentally broken. In every sense she is skating towards the kind of break down that lands you homeless and on the street and, once lucky, in public housing.
>>
>>20913598
I dunno man. Like I'm trying to play her as an intelligent, considerate person with a tendency to freeze in social situations and occasionally second guess herself, but realizes she has a problem and is working to mitigate it. The issue is some of the other folks apparently trying to become an obsessive psychopath or completely non-functioning shut-in.
>>
>>20913598

I don't think it's full on mental disorder, just really hard-core social anxiety.

She probably also has some issues as far as self depreciation and possibly abandonment goes.

Also a little bit what >>20913645 said. We're looking at a possible train-wreck here. I kinda hope she can pull it together a little more, but I intend to watch until the end, be it happy or gloriously self destructive.
>>
>>20913733
And then the yandere fucks show up
