What's that? Time for more Zerg Quest?

Well, I suppose I can't argue with that.

Sorry I didn't come back the next day for last thread. I discovered a malignant mass of calculus that I had to spend the day removing.

We have boarded and begun taking control of several Xel'Naga worldships during the opening battle of this war (specifics to follow). Unfortunately, they have begun firing back, destroying one of the craft and the tens of thousands of Zerg aboard.

There remain almost a hundred craft out there, doing battle with our forces.

SPEAKING OF WHICH: Would you like to send more air forces into the combat outside, and if so, how many? (Detonating heighliners is also an acceptable order at this time)
>>
>>20952162
Lets send... half of our remaining assets. And FIND A KITCHEN!
>>
Rolled 21

>>20952162
nuke world hit them hard take that cube
>>
>>20952162
Yes
Lots (anything that isn't currently dedicated to critical defense points or active engagements)
After we steal a worldship

Also, let's bug the Protoss some more. They are missing out on so many beautiful explosions.
>>
>>20952162
>Detonating heighliners is also an acceptable order at this time
We took the highliner engine tech from the Xel'Naga. Can we detonate their engines instead?
>>
>>20952162
Yes, we would like to send more aerospace assets.
Send half of our remaining forces, draw them in from the Protoss border if we have to.

Have them assemble at a rally point a little outside the system via heighliner, then make the final jump into the battle once ready.
>>
>>20952330
If I remember correctly, the engine controls make no sense to use, despite knowing the language and how they work.
>>
>>20952403
>>20952330
Depends on how well you roll.

Half of our forces, you say?

>>20952300
Toaster has 10 nukes ready. We could do that.
>>
>>20952508
Yes, half. Dangerous, I realize.
And have Toaster get those nukes into position. Heighliner them in to a place at the edge of the system, drop them off, then have them make the last step of the trip via conventional Warp.
>>
>>20952508
So nukes, engine fiddling, the half the swarm.
>>
>>20952614
>>20952615
Alright, so...13d100? Can we do 13?

>>20952758
We begin sending forces in wave after wave, joining in the fight in droves. The battle is pitched, but our interminable numbers choke the skies. The system is full of Zerg, live and dead.

One of the worldships, too, is full of Zerg, and our Science Corps finally tweaks its engine controls correctly, finesses them just right, to cause a massive detonation. A wave of red light explodes outward, tearing through space like a scream piercing a night's calm. Zerg and Xel'Naga alike disappear in the light, and for a split second, we swear that we can see a ship in the afterglow, but we can't be sure.

As the combat lulls for a moment following the blast, Toaster seizes its moment, firing its ten prepared missiles. Moments later, it is claiming that its targeting systems were disrupted by the explosion, as only one missile caused enough damage to allow our forces to destroy the craft.

It is this scene that greets the Protoss battle fleet that surprisingly rolled high enough on its very first check to arrive. The golden ships join the fray, performing quick strikes and retreating, often before the Xel'Naga retaliatory fire arrives, but they do less damage that we would like.

Quick determine if Khas is here, if so tell the Xel'Naga "Tada! We brought you Khas like you asked."
>>
>>20953315
Have our controlled worldships keep firing upon the Xel'Naga.
There was one worldship that we controlled almost entirely with an intact bridge. Make sure that one doesn't take part in the battle, so that we can salvage it afterwards.

Thank the Protoss for their assistance, and let them know that we've turned some of the worldships against the Xel'Naga; wouldn't want them shooting the ships we control.
>>
>>20953426
>one worldship that we controlled almost entirely with an intact bridge
Except for, you know, the guns.
>>
>>20953402
We don't control the engines on any more ships. We popped the one we had.

6 is the one that just popped with universe-tearing fury. We had bridge and engine control, there. 7, we lost last week. It had bridge, engines, and weapons. Our best work.

On the plus side, 2 will be out of breathable air for the Xel'Naga soon, so that will probably give us options. Though, now that I think of it, you guys should roll 2d20 real quick.

>>20953527
>>20953548
We manage to fire the weapons on most of the ships, but mostly only do glancing damage to the Xel'Naga, and collateral damage to our forces in the way. However, in the fray, three enemy worldships are destroyed.

>>20953822
Because there's just not enough numerology in the numbers I've seen so far, I'm going to use this roll.

On Ship 2, Cyberbrate suddenly alerts us of a desperate hacking attempt. Apparently, the Xel'Naga sealed on the bridge are attempting to override the air scrubbers and restore breathable air to their ship. After a few minutes of feverish typing that would surely be an awesome over-the-top graphical battle with vector graphics in a rad '80s hacking movie, but is really just a bunch of infested Terrans typing quickly, Cyberbrate manages to lock them out of the system on about 4/5 of the ship, but the "vital ship's systems" areas remain under Xel'Naga control, and are soon awash in life-giving air. Such is life, we suppose.

We return you to our top story: Zerg Bergur is the top-selling meat product in the galaxy, but is it infesting your children? Oh. I was just going to work it into the next thing you did. That was more of a general bookkeeping thing for me.
>>
>>20954958
(So, then...)
The Protoss are taking a beating, but still standing firm. We're proud of our brothers, though we feel a note of pride that a smaller proportion of our forces are gone than theirs.

It's hard to tell in the chaos, but there are clearly fewer than 100 worldships left. It might even be less than 75.
>>
>>20954983

Keep ripping into them.

I'm assuming our home planets are constantly churning out zergs? Keep sending in waves of reinforcements periodically.

I would say most of what we have on the field, distributed across the worldships in the numbers we used in the previous assaults, since the numbers appeared to work.

I don't think new boarding operations is a good idea. Last time we had surprise on our side, this time they'll know what we're up to.

Oh yeah, that thing. The thing that can drain all of our psychic energy and so far we haven't found anything that can kill it.

Also, aren't we a little too cavalier with destroying sections of the universe, and essentially warping space-time in normal space?
