Greetings Fatguys and Catgirls, and welcome BACK to /tg/'s Dragon Quest! (I know I'm much earlier than I said I would be, but I have a train to catch this evening, so we'll do this now.)

Previous thread is archived here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/21105648/

This is Halmorra, a continent home to all manner of creatures great and small, smart and dumb, peaceful and violent. And none are greater, smarter and capable of more violence than Dragons.

Capable of living for thousands of years, there are no more than a hundred or so of these creatures in existence. Titans of Nature, Primordial forces, Living Storms, Winged Death, Benevolent Healer, a Dragon can be all of these things.

Last time on /tg/'s Dragon quest, you ate a shitload of metal, mauled your best friend in a gold-induced feeding frenzy, rescued said friend from an unknown forest creature, and built yourself a bitching tower.

You currently have 10xp. You will reach the next stage of your life at 20xp.

Your current abilities are:

Spew Molten Metal (Cannot be used when you're starving. Like right now.)
Minor Magnetic Manipulation
Iron Body (Reduce damage taken and increase all physical abilities for a short period of time.)
Minor Heal has evolved into Heal after you successfully healed the Hermit in your last adventure by rolling a Nat 20

Anyway, time for more adventures!

You awaken just as the sun begins to rise, its light bouncing off your metal fortress and dragging you back to consciousness.
You attempt to stand, only to find that your tower room is now too small to accomodate you.
It appears you have been slumbering for quite some time, and in that time you have grown considerably. Where you were once twice the size of a horse, you are now four times the size.
Seems that Gold you ate did more than just send you into a frenzy.
As a result, your HP is now 380/380, all of your attacks deal considerably more damage and you will receive less damage.
What do you do /tg/?

Oh dear. Rip out of that little hut. It's stopped raining, right? Has the rust cleared up from our growth spurt?

We need to figure out how to make it up to hermitbro. We could try and find out what's up with the woods. Or we could forge a suit of armor, or at least try. A mold probably won't work. Maybe we could beat metal into shape? It can't be solid, so... Pin it together with other bits of metal. And maybe scratch some designs into it, inspired by the time we met him. Make a little engraved mural upon the chestpiece of the past few days, with plenty of room for more. It probably won't be very good, but we can try!
>>

Look for something to hopefully appease our bro, in the event he's still mad at us. Also, grab a bite on the road.

Turn your hermit friend into an immortal metal dragonborn. You should know how by now. You need a majordomo anyway.

Also, just how powerful is our magnetic manipulation? For instance, can we generate any sizable current if we park ourselves in the middle of a crapton of coils made from the metal we can spew?

You RIP AND TEAR your way out of your hut, most likely deafening local wildlife for a few miles around as the metal screams in protest.

Standing amongst the wreckage, you observe your surroundings.

You notice a small family of deer darting away through the forest. You could give chase and try to catch one. Alternatively you could dig around for some ore to eat, which would take longer but provide more sustenance.

>>21120272
>>21120273

You try to think of a way to make things up to the Hermit.

(You're a pretty young Dragon, so you can't do that just yet. However with that Nat 20, you can make him the most bitching set of armour ever. Will this suffice?)

>>21120299
You just learnt it, so pretty weak. You can rip weapons away from unsuspecting foes and make them float ala Magneto, but not with any real sense of control. You can however fling them away.

THE POWER OF BRONESS AND GAR CARRIES ON INTO THIS THREAD, I SEE. I AM GLAD TO SEE THAT WHICH WAS LOST TO ME HAS FOUND A NEW BEARER.
>>
>>21120343
Hmm. I think we will invariably become acquainted with Faraday's Laws as our powers develop. Out of curiosity, what's the resistivity of our breath metal like?
>>
>>21120362

You leap from your tower, your new larger form causing the ground to quake as you land. The deer scatter as soon as you hit the ground. Seems you wouldn't have been able to catch them anyway.

>>21120365
>>21120362
>>21120371

You begin to dig, tearing at the dirt until you hit rock.

Then you keep on tearing, searching for ore.

Eventually you happen upon a copper vein, which you immoderately devour.

Spicy. Soft. Not bad, but nothing compared to the Gold you had...

Guilt comes back to you as you remember what that Gold made you do. Time to make things up to your friend.

You start clawing at the rock, drawing out intricate patterns and shapes. A breastplate...shoulders pads, gauntlets and leggings.

And then you breath life into them. You spew your innards all over the moulds, filling them to the brim. This metal is different, it seems brighter, hotter than what you normally produce, it almost seems to glow as you watch it cool.

These will take a while to cool. You can either speed up the process by pouring water on them, but this may affect quality. Or you can let them cool naturally, but this will take much longer.

What do you do /tg/?
>>
>>21120465

Stronger than any metal you've encountered so far.
>>
Rolled 18

>>21120469

Man, even if the guy is old, I don't think he'll die if we wait for things to cool down.

Cool down naturally unless it's one of those metals that get stronger if you dunk it in water.
>>
Rolled 4

>>21120469
Let it cool natutally, keep digging nearby to keep and eye on it whilst we eat but be careful to avoid getting dirt and junk on it.

Rolling for more lunch
>>
Rolled 9

>>21120469
let it cool naturally and dig for some more ore while we wait, we need to make a stock pile for if we get sick or injured
>>
>>21120478
Uh, so it has high resistance? I was asking OOC about electrical conductivity, not tensile strength or hardness, if it wasn't clear (though the latter two would be useful to know).

Anyway, wait to cool naturally. Nothing but the best for our bro.
>>
>>21120489
>>21120494
>>21120495

You resume digging, taking care that you do not alter the cooling metals. Finding several copper ore veins, you devour them, before finding that you are, for the first time, full.

Digging out what you couldn't eat, you bring the copper ore into your tower and deposit it.

You've just started your first horde!

Yaaaaay. I not sure what to do now. I don't want to leave the armour incase something/someone comes and ruins it/steals it but it seems unproductive to such snooze in the sun all day and night until the armour is ready.

How about we go find a nearby plant and practise our healing magic on it, even if it doesn't need healing. Who knows what will happen.

Deciding that your moulds will be safe, you begin to venture into the forest. It is there that you notice the path of destruction you wrought in your last escapade into this place is...

No longer there.

All the damage you caused has been fixed. Fallen trees are now upright again, trampled bushes have sprung back to life.

It is also at this point that you notice the plantlife has slowly grown over parts of your fortress. You must've been asleep longer than you thought.

You decide to practice your healing magic on one of the many plants that now covers part of your metal hideaway, but nothing happens. Healing magic has no effect on already healthy organisms.

It was worth a try, you think to yourself as you return back to your armour pieces.

They have already begun to cool. They are cool enough to move, but still hot enough that they would cause severe burns to the hermit. Now may be a good time to assemble the armour.

what im thinking is we spend a small portion of each day making tower bigger as we grow so that when we're full sized we have a dope lair
>>
>>21120727
>>21120755

Using your newfound magnetic abilities, you raise the armour pieces from their stone moulds without touching them.

Guided by your sole desire to repair your friendship, you lovingly craft this piece of armour, placing that same molten metal on corners and edges to hold the pieces together.

You work through the day, slowly and expertly creating the perfect gift, until just before the sun sets, it is complete.

A magnificent piece of craftmanship that would make a Dwarf gasp in awe, this stunning suit is comprised of a gold and silver metal harder than any that has been discovered before.

Creating a stand from which to hang this suit of armour whilst it cools, you turn your attention to your home.

With a roar, you spew metal across the invading plants, causing them to shrivel and burn away, leaving nothing but sleek, shiny craftmanship in their place. You hear something rumble in protest from the forest, but take no notice.

You turn your attention to the main tower, remembering that it is no longer large enough for you.

So you make it bigger.

You hammer out the insides with your new herculean strength, widening in insides, before pouring metal down the outsides, making the walls twice as thick and strong.

Finally you reach the top of your tower, where you create a roost that would be able to house something many times your size.

Your lair is complete.

The armour has cooled and the sun has set.

What do you do /tg/?
>>

>>

Congratulations! Your magnetic ability has increased. Your abilities are now:

Molten Metal
Iron Body
Magnetic Manipulation (no longer minor)
Heal

Your knowledge is now:

Average grasp of human tongue
Advanced knowledge of forging/crafting
Average knowledge of healing/biology

To be honest, one of the reasons I like this quest over the other dragon quests is because of the refreshing lack of minions and politicking.

>>
Rolled 18

>>21120908
When we say "sneak in", we mean "watch from afar till the hermit is out of his house before entering and leaving the armor there, disappearing before he gets back". Not METAL GEAR our way in.
>>
>>21120908

You walk slowly down the beach, carefully mulling over what you will say once you meet the Hermit again.

You approach the entrance slowly, careful not to startle the man. As you poke your head round the entrance, you see him sleeping at the rear of the cavern on the bed you made for him.

You slowly but surely place the gift next to the Hermit's sleeping form, careful not to wake him, before beginning to return to your own home.

And that is when you hear it.

A humongous, gut-wrenching roar that echoes across the land. A roar that seems to shake you to your core, emanating from the forest. And then you hear the sounds of metal being beaten, being torn asunder.

It is hot. Very hot. Hotter than the metal you regularly spit out.

It is rage.

You charge across the beach, shell hardening, claws growing and sharpening, limbs pounding the ground, driving you onwards as you use Iron Body once again.

You reply to the challenge with a roar of your own, a deep, guttural roar filled with fury. Let the enemy know who they face. The first roar would've woken the hermit anyway.

Charging up the cliff and across the grass towards your home, you see it.

It's stony form dwarfs your own. It's dark brown eyes stare at you, freezing you in place. Four huge, clawed, rocky limbs support the behemoth, who turns its long neck to face you.

Huge wings that seem to secrete dirt unfurl as it turns to you, its maw widening slowly. You stare in horror as its mammoth tail whips out, and cleaves your tower in two, the metal screaming in protest and it collapses on itself and thunders to the ground.

Yeah I just figured this fight could easily end very poorly for us so a bit of negotiation and talk might help a bit. This dragon is a whole level above us, is bigger than us, more powerful and has more health. We aren't doing too badly though I suppose
>>

Forgot to take dice off, wasn't rolling for anything that time.
>>
>>21121290

You try to weld the Dragon's tail to the ground with molten metal in order to prevent it from using its tail as a weapon.

However this creature just destroyed your tower in a single blow, and this has simply made it's tail harder and heavier as it strikes you with your own metal. This deals 43 damage to you.

Your health is now 206/350

The heat form the metal however, deals 3 damage to the Nature Dragon.

The Nature Dragon's health is now 390/500

You use heal on yourself, and regain 44 health.

Your health is now 250/350
>>
Rolled 4 + 1

fuck this shit, we barf molten metal all over the forest near the other dragon, since molten metal is hot enough to make wood spontaneously burst into fire, all the while we attempt to fire the sharp scraps of metal from what was our home in the direction of the dragon's eyes to damage him and keep him busy, then we melt the tip of an ore-rich mountain to form a large puddle of heated metal and cut it out like a large bathtub of heated metal, then attempt to throw it over the dragon all the while still shooting sharp pieces of metal and globs of metal at him with our magnetic ability
if throwing the bathtub of molten metal doesn't work or misses then use magnetism to pull the liquid metal towards us to form armor
rolling for spewing metal at forest, firing metal at his eyes, making bathtub of molten metal and cutting/melting it out and rolling for throwing/aiming it at his head

Focusing your mind, you tear off several pieces of your now-ruined tower and send them hurtling towards the Dragon's heart.

However the Dragon has realised that it's heart is exposed and raises a claw to protect it. Your shrapnel deals a pitiful 9 damage to the Nature Dragon.

The Nature Dragons health is now 267/500, and it is no longer blinded.

The nature dragon places its claw to it chest, and casts Major Heal on itself, healing 124 hp and closing the hole.

The Nature Dragon's Health is now 391/500

You hear a voice shouting at you from behind, telling you to get back. Spinning around, you turn to search for the voices owner.

"Get out of the way."

The Hermit stands proud, your armour glimmering in the moonlight, blade raised. He looks at you.

"Thank you for this..." he says, looking down at his armour. "I haven't felt this young in years.

The same position it was in when your spear pierced its heart.

You step back to admire your handiwork. Afull sized Dragon on its hind legs, wings wide and claws clutched at its chest as it roars in agony. And one very long, very thick spear, piercing its heart.

Indeed. The earth and its elements are tools, if wily ones. We must balance our craft with the means to make it, and the means are the earth itself. Craft is good. Craft is beautiful. Beautiful is good. The woods were that dragon's craft; we have destroyed him, so why should we destroy his craft? It is harmless, and to do so would rob the world of beauty.

>>21122659
Enter. Do we have darkvision at all?
>>
>>21122710
Dragons usually do
>>
>>21122636
>Air consorts with water, pretty sure we haven't seen air anywhere in here yet

The rain. Did you not read the spiel in the first thread?

You squeeze through the opening, feeling the passage walls give way to your much harder skin.

Once you're inside you notice a familiar glimmer, a soft, golden glimmer.

Golden...

Gold.

Half a dozen Golden veins line the walls of this new cavern.

You turn your head in the thin cavern to stare at the Hermit in disbelief. He simply smiles.

"Go nuts."
>>
>>21122728
... I'm not sure if you are just trying to troll or just being stupid. It's the rain that was an issue. Like for most metals it'll be one of the few things we don't want over exposure to. That does not mean that we have any problem with air though. Also to make this a bit easier, the 'air' dragons have control over lightening and wind. Wind by itself does not do much to metals other than convective heating/cooling.
>>
>>21122750
Do exactly as he has instructed. Go nuts, eat all that damn gold, eat it all just gorge on it. Then have a nice nap.

Need to go to sleep now, don't forget to archive the thread when its done. Nat 20 for piles of gold is fucking boss.
>>
>>21122750
"I... Thank you. I hope I don't slumber too long. I will control myself better this time, I promise." Hug him, and eat it. All of it.
>>
>>21122770
Hug him?
You shitting me?
We're a fucking dragon
>>
Rolled 6

>>21122750
I would ask that you leave for a while.
>>
>>21122788
You telling me we can't approximate a hug with our big ol' claws? Come on. We can be a little sappy, for what he's given us.
>>
>>21122793
Wouldn't want to attack him again.
>>
>>21122764
Your metagaming is painful, it really is.
>>
>>21122793
>>21122788
>>21122770

Your senses dull as you enter the familiar ecstasy. You rip and tear the veins in a frenzy, carving out a bigger and bigger cavern. It is not until you've exhausted the ore that you realise you're now atop the cliff. You dug all the way through it and up onto the clifftop.

Your belly is full, you're injured, tired, bloodied and content.

Do you decide to sleep /tg/?
>>
>>21122840
Naturally. We should also see if we can do a passive healing spell on ourselves while we sleep.
>>
>>21122840
Spit out some sort of awning to block rain and then sleep.
>>
>>21122852
I second this.
>>
>>21122820
Either way I don't really care, I just don't want this quest to turn into dragon hunting quest.

>>21122852
>>21122868
>>21122870
This, before we sleep tell Hermit Bro that we are going to sleep.

You spit metal onto the cavern's entrance, creating a roof to shield you from the rain.

You then curl up and sleep, content with the world.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Holy shit /tg/ that was a lotta typing. Anyway, lets see how you did.

>Rolled two nat 20s on making a piece of armour
>Built then destroyed your fortress
>defeated an enemy that was far stronger than you
>ate a shitton of Gold

I'd be a dick if I didn't award you at least 18 xp for that, which brings your total xp up to 28.

>28xp
>entering your second stage requires 20xp

Oh shit. You guys ready for one last post before I catch a train?
>>
Maybe we should make sure that our sleeping...chamber...is large enough to accommodate some growth on our part. We keep waking up cramped.
>>
>>21122957
It's time to get HUGE.
>>
>>21122900
It was never about hunting other dragons man, it was about remaking the world. remaking it in glorious metal.
>>
>>21122991
Seemed very different from my side of things. Either way lets just leave it at that.

>>21122957
Hoping we get to choose evolution paths. Also we didn't tell the hermit we were going to sleep for a while.
>>
>>21122967
Right now we're at the top of a clifftop If we are feeling cramped when we wake up something has gone horribly wrong, or right depending on how HUGE you want to be.
>>
>>21122957
im ready for this

You open your eyes slowly, letting the sunlight wake you gently.

You try to stretch you legs, only to meet solid rock. You try to stretch your neck. Again, you hit rock.

Starting to get aggravated, you push up instead, letting out a small growl.

The metal roof explodes out as you bursts forth from the ground, your silver hide glistening in the sunlight. You extend your limbs, smashing dirt and rock asunder as if it were sand.

Your tail whips up through the rock like it was nothing more than water, sending dirt spraying in all directions.

And then finally, as you open your mouth to roar, you unfurl your wings. Huge, sleek and metallic, they cut through the ground like a blade through flesh.

You have reached the second stage of your species' life. You have become a Steel Dragon

Your Abilities are now:

>Molten Breath
>Flight (short distance)
>Wingblade
>Tailblade
>Steel Body

Your knowledge now extends to

Advanced Human Tongue
Masterwork Forging
Advanced Biology

You have also Quadrupled in size, and are now big enough to simply step up and down the cliif you previously needed to climb.

---------------------------------------------------------

And that's a wrap folks. I've got a train to catch soon back to Uni, where I am unable to run these quests as my uni has disabled 4chan posting.

I also have no idea how to archive these things, so if someone could do that I would appreciate it.
>>
>>21123299
Archived. Thanks for a great thread, bro!
>>
>>21123299
great threads, any chance you'll be back from uni in the near future?
>>
>>21123299
if you wish to continue posing threads while at uni, we can work something out.

I like what I read bro.
>>
Fellow britfag here who's looking at universities, which one do you go to, so I will avoid it if I can.
>>
Posting on behalf of the faggot OP who is now back at uni but considers you his only friends and so begged fucking muggins here to make a post for him.

------

>>21123451
Much obliged brother.

>>21123467
I'll be back in just over two weeks.

>>21123709
Thanks for the offer bro, but I think I'll spend the time I have world building, and maybe trying to come up with some other quests.

I'll be back on 1st November to resume this.

Also I enjoy fellating men.

>>
>>21126763
thanks for the post, one question, what the fuck is a muggins?
>>
>>21126928

You're a fucking mugg- Muggins is basically an old slang word for 'myself'
>>
>>21126928
The American equivalent would be "yours truly."
