You're locked behind a ward that smells of blood magic, Kaliel by your side. The harder you strain, the stronger the ward gets, and you can't even rouse your magic without the ward rousing itself.

"Now, I know you have a strong sense of ethics." Theussil said. "So I'll be kind and simply tell you- the more you try to move, the more life force the ward drains from my slaves."

"Die." Kaliel snarled, and started trying to move. Red runes appeared in the air around her hands.

We know blood magic. Work out what the ward does and how it does it. Use Control Magic to unravel it. Trying to fight that by raising equal brute force is silly, the ward can't hold.

Backing this
>>
"Oh well." You say, and wiggle this way and that, trying to reach for one of the floating runes- but they're preventing you from moving.. much. You can't even reach toward one of the runes, and your control magic ability is... impossible to use unless you can touch one.

"Oh well." He responded. "We just need to wait until Tala gets here with the implements, and then we can begin. Sorry about your anti-mage."

Kaliel slammed her palms forward, white flashes appearing on her own runes, and your ward suddenly weakens. You reach forward, touch the ward itself, and then... control magic.

Quickly, you reach into the ward, and disable it. He doesn't seem to realize your ward was gone, and Kaliel met your eyes- she could move, too, but she was waiting for you.

The golem started making a strange beeping noise, and Theusill looked at it.
"System error? What?" He asked.

Without hesitation, you sliced the golem in half, and looked down- Theussil's hands were glowing red, quickly slowing his descent as he fell.
>>
>>21122585

"Right away." She said, and her living armor burst into corded muscle and kicked open the door. Tala stood in the way, still glowing softly.

"I'll take care of it." Kaliel said, and large claws sprouted out of her hands.

You grit your teeth, and jump.
<Open fire!> You call, once outside of the wards.

Jormungandr started banging, as the cannons exploded into force magic.

Theussil whirled about, facing you again, and you threw a Force blast at him, your arms shining with color.
His spell suddenly fell, and he twisted his arms into an abjuration spell- one with blood magic, you note- and your powerful blast simply shattered against his shield. He just has too much power.

>>
You focus your power again, and blast a needle-thin burst of astral fire. He rolls out of the way, red light streaming from his body. You keep throwing force blast after force blast.
"Harpies!" He calls, and three of the flying, clawed golems dart toward you.

You ignore them. You grit your teeth, and shove out your arm, the soulflame uncoiling. It sparks with red, and white, and purple, and finally, black, as it weaves around his leg, starting to burn through his own wards.

>>
Rolled 98

>>21122866
Not necessarily. He could just be knocked out. Theussil might want to study that power, or steal it or some shit.
>>
Rolled 49

>>21122866
He's not dead yet. He was hit neither in the head nor the heart, so he still has time to bleed out. Which means that Kaliel has had time to patch the wound enough that he can both breathe and not bleed out.

But yeah, we should be worried abut that as soon as we're done.
>>
Keeping your soulfire held, you 'drop' rikar, it falling at the same rate as you, and you use your spare hand to blast the harpies, blowing them out of the air.

"Fight me, coward!" You snarl, and grab Rikar again, your armor sparking with power. "Don't rely on your machines, and your slaves' life force!"

There was a bang as Theusill landed... And then he drew a long staff, blades on either end, red golem cores sitting in the hilt.

"Is that what you want, then?" He called back up. "You'll have to land first!"

From above, archers started shooting down at you, spears of light and magic blasting down at you. One strikes your armor, and your armor starts ringing, but the glow gets less bright. The ground is coming quickly, and you have no idea if your armor can handle colliding with the earth.

<Aeriel.> You say, and bite your lip.
<On it.> He responded. Suddenly, you were falling above Theussil, quickly translocated-

And you slammed into his ward, knocking the wind out of you. Your armor's glow got darker as he darted away, as you fell to the ground, struggling to breathe.

He whirled around, his wards sparking, and the bladed staff whirled over his head, the blades glowing red, pungent with blood magic.

"Nice try." He growled, whirling the blade above his head and facing you, as you get to your feet. "But my wards are pretty powerful."

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a boot slammed into his hand, knocking the staff out of it.
"What."

Another storm of arrows shot down at you, from the hole in the wall, blue spears of light shooting toward you. The few that hit were caught by your armor, but you have no idea how much longer it will last.

You charge, Rikar in hand, and he reaches out his hand, pulling the staff back into it with a whispered spell, just in time to block your artifact blade, sparks dancing from his goldsteel staff as he spins it.

Behind you, golems start rushing, but berecians burst from the ground, barelling into them, trollish claws and ogrish horns locking with goldsteel weapons, pushing them back.

With another whispered spell, Theussil's hand burst into red light, and he started throwing red spheres at you. Without thinking, you start parrying the spheres, deflecting them off in random directions.

He grits his teeth, and stabs at you with the spear, but you parry that as well, knocking it out of the way. He started laughing.

He suddenly dives forward, his staff spinning quickly as you struggle to parry every blow, and with a particularly heavy blow, jars your hand. You throw sparks of light into his face-
And then he twists the staff, and Rikar goes flying out of your hand.

HORSESHIT. Exabyte, it was established early on in the quest, before the timeskip, that it could not be stolen. Ever. Only given of free will. And then there's the whole honor gittery. A blood mage shouldn't qualify, even with his truth wards. What is this, I don't even... That doesn't even make sense, even if he bullshits magic with blood! HOW.

In any case, we already have his ankles in a rock-shackle hold. Shift the rock and turn his legs into paste. Then repeat when he hits the earth, legless, smashing every extremity we can with more shackles, until he is so much goo.

"Get back here this instant, Rikar." You say, trying to teleport it- but Rikar refused to move.

The sword quivers... but Theusill clenched his hand, and it went still. He gave you a fierce, fierce grin.
"Artifacts can be bamboozled, you know." He said, and shrugged.

You clench your fists, the rocks straining against his wards, as he continues to cast one-handed.

"And now your friend isn't here to weaken the ward." He said. "Tch, you're too much trouble. I'll just see what I can get from your soul."

He limped toward you, and then pulled back rikar, and shoved it toward your neck.

And the blade froze, right in front of you, the tip glowing purple.

<I don't know where he is, and I can't sense him.> Aeriel responded. <But that elven girl wasn't gone long, so he's up on the second to top floor.>
There was a flash of light, and you appear in the once-warded room, and the elven woman is lying on the ground, her hands utterly boneless, flesh sealed over her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, turning her face into a grotuesque flesh mask.. She's writhing as her muscles try to do something, anything, but she doesn't truly move an inch.

You leave the room, and the elven servants are cowering, their bows dropped fruitlessly, looking up at you and your shining sword.
<Je.. jeanne is hurt.> Fellwind said, over the ring. <And- and- I can't- I can't->

"Where is Kristoph?" you ask one of the elves.
"Well-uh- The- the mistress took him over th-there." He said, pointing.

<Do whatever you can, Fellwind.> You say. <Take power from Jormungandr, or a caster if you need it.>

<Skerghaul is *wrong*!> Fellwind snarled back, to someone- Raziel, maybe- <She won't die. I can heal her!>

You close your eyes, and focus on Jeanne, and her ring. Her eyes are glassy, and she's bleeding profusely from her gut, her heart laboring to work as she mumbles wordlessly up at the raging Fellwind.

You calm yourself, and slowly send magic through the ring, to her, and slowly staunching her bleeding, restoring what blood you can. The effort is almost exhausting, and the world swims, but her heartbeat grows stronger.

<Aeriel, teleport Kristoph onto the ship, get everyone back onboard.>
<Right away.> Aeriel said, and Kristoph vanished from the slit through the door. You vanish, and appear on the ship again. You see Kaliel, covered in dirt, with one of Tala's elven swords on her hip, sitting on Kell's shoulder. Your father is badly cut, but he'd been bandaged up, and Fellwind is sitting perfectly still, staring down at Jeanne.

"We can do this, Fellwind." You say. "Kaliel, can you give her more blood before she runs out?"

Kaliel nods, and wordlessly puts her hand over Jeanne's torso.

You take Fellwind's hand, and he takes a slow, deep breath, as you weave your magic into his, and together, at the same time, you and he cast the same healing spell, at the same time.

Jeanne's eyes flicker open, and the relief from Fellwind is tangible.
"What.. how..." She said. "He.. he protected me from the arrows with his body. How is he?"
"He?"
"... Grayson." She said.

You suddenly dart your eyes over to the bear at the head of the ship... and the bear is perfectly still. Not breathing.

Grayson is dead.

You run over to him, and kneel down near his head, running your hands through his fur, feeling for... something, anything.

And hidden, deep within his body... was a spark.

"Kal, make a creature." You say. "Please. Something permanent."
"Okay." She said, and closed her eyes. She clasped her hands together, and one of the enormous tigers appeared, the fur brown.

As you feel for the spark, you feel it suddenly... leap, and the tiger rolls it's shoulders, the tail flicking. Kaliel steps away from it, and the tiger got closer and closer to you, the tail twitching.

And then it pushed it's whiskered nose to your forehead... and harrumphed.

"Is everyone else alright?" You ask, still clinging to Grayson like you'll never, ever, ever let go.
"One of those flying things got me pretty badly." Your father said. "But I'll be fine."

"Is Kristoph okay?" You ask, and Kaliel is already looking down at him.
"Some kind of poison." Kaliel said. "He was bleeding badly after I pulled the bolt out, but it was easy enough to fix. He'll be fine when he wakes up."
"Also, what are the golems and other elves doing now?"
"The elves are cowering, as if waiting for the world to explode." Lewin said. "And the golems are just standing perfectly still. The flying ones are flying in place."

"... I should fix that woman." Kaliel said, suddenly.

"What? You mean the one who served Theussil, the swordself? I'm all for sympathy towards one's enemies, but why? Just put her out of her misery. She was accessory to countless atrocities towards the slaves. We need to get them out of here, to New Arcturus, and we need to pressgang those golems. There's many more lesser wizards to deal with."
>>
>>21123894
Keep the tower intact, take control over the golemns and march on the rest of the Eastern Elven Wizards until every last one of them is crushed beneath your heel. Simoultaneously call for the Western Elves to take over the area and establish some kind of provisionary government.
>>
>>21123894
If you can. But be careful. I will accompany you while you do it. We should probably figure out a way to prevent these petty tyrants from subjegating their fellows in the future. Ideas? (addressing our crew).
>>
"What? You mean the one who served theussil, the swordself? I'm all for sympathy towards one's enemies, but why? Just put her out of her misery. She was accessory to countless atrocities towards the slaves."
"She's pregnant." Kaliel said. "And we don't know if she was enchanted or not."

"Do we have enough space on Jormy to accomodate them all?" You ask.
"Not at all." Lewin said. "There's an entire city in this tower, from what it looks like. In and under."

You reach into one of the slain harpies on the deck, and reach for it's core, quickly taking control of it, and using that to connect to the other golems. With their owner dead, they're perfectly subserviant, so you quickly set them to obey your own commands.

Suddenly, from the west, you see... something in the distance.

"Oh. Oh my." Lewin said, and gave you a grin. "The elves got here a lot faster than we thought."

<So.> Kyvann said, as the prism ship- and the other cargo ships behind it- arrived, coasting up toward the tower. <Bubbles told me there were elven slaves here.>
>>
>>21123994
<Hah. If you had arrived ten minutes earlier you could have helped us free them.>
>>
>>21123994
"Kyvann, Bubbles, you have amazing timing."
>>
>>21123994
<There were.>
>>
>>21123994
Yes, I just squashed one of them. He claimed to wanted to free them. He lied to me.

Be careful here, it seems to be standard practice amongst these ruling wizards to use blood magic powered by their slaves.
>>
>>21123994
<And a very, very dead blood mage. The strongest on the continent. There's even a perfect obelisk, containing his crushed remains, to mark the spot of his end. I think I've left you the perfect fortress with which to wage war on the remaining wizard-lords, from his tower.>

"Very well. The child is innocent, and you could be right about possible enchantment. Heal her."
>>
<There were.> You say. <Now they're just... elves. Kyvann, Bubbles, you have amazing timing.>
<Why, thank you.> Kyvann said.
<If you had arrived ten minutes earlier, you could have helped us free them.>
<Bubbles forced me to slow down my prism ship, due to some time thing.>
<In order to keep the time loop stable, because I'll need to send this information back, and the information I send back has to be the exact same as the information I recieved. We can't change what happens and happened.> Bubbles' voice suddenly keyed in.
<Time loop, what he said.> Kyvann added.
<There's also a very, very dead blood mage. There's even a burning obelisk to mark the spot of his end. I think I've left you the perfect fortress with which to wage war on the remaining wizard-lords, from his tower.>

<Really> Kyvann said. <Because there are a lot of golems here. Those things won't attack, will they?>
"Very well." You say. "The child is innocent, and you could be right about possible enchantment. Heal her."
"... Okay." She said, and then gave you a glance. "you're not... n-nevermind."
She shook her head, and dove back into the tower.
>>
>>21124089
<They're my golems. I know golemcrafting now.>
>>
>>21124089
<No. With Theusill dead, I took them over. They're rather interesting things, and knowing a thing or two about them now, I'll have to replicate them for labor in New Arcturus..>
>>
>>21124089
<No, they're under my control for the time being.>

>>
>>21124089
<Is everything alright, Kaliel?>
>>
<No, they're under my control for the time being.>
<Good to know.> He said, and you see the prism ship slowly raise above the tower, and hover in place there. <There, now this ship is an anchor for the weave. We can start bringing in soldiers, ships, and moving people out. Is there anything else we should worry about, Ishelda?>
>>
>>21124089
Follow Kaliel: "Are you alright?"
to Kyvann: <I assumed direct control, they are harmless>
>>
>>21124201
<They tend to use a great deal of blood magic, which gives any caster vile enough to use it great power.>
>>
>>21124201
<I do not know, whether the wizard had any apprentices capable of blood magic, I doubt it, especially since no one seemed to try to reactivate the golemns, but be careful when entering the tower>
>>
>>21124201
<Lots of blood mages and lots of golems to contend with in the East Elf armies. Don't bother the Dwarves- they like their privacy- and they won't bother you. Especially don't fly into the mountains. They WILL attack you, thinking you spies. If you have to see them, for gods' sake, use one of the front doors into the mountains. The Children are not quite as insular, but are in a bit of turmoil. I suggest leaving them alone for now.>
>>
>>21124201
The dwarves won't trust you, they don't trust anyone. Tyr has a ring, try to tell him your from the west before he attacks. All the magical elves here are crazy, be careful.
>>
>>21124201
<Quite a lot. Blood magic is common which means the casters, who rule this place with an iron fist, have plenty of raw power to spend. They also use golems but I think I'll lend you my new golem army to deal with them.

The Dwarves will just leave you alone if you don't visit the mountains. And they probably won't attack if you say you know me, but don't rely on that. I gave Overlord Tyr a communication ring so you should probably talk with him.

The Children are in turmoil right now given that the Great Wyrm just died, expect a minor civil war, but they'll likely be more reasonable afterwards.>
>>
>>21124201
<The dwarves to the north won't like you but they should keep to their mountains. The Children to the west have their own troubles to deal with just being freed from tyranny themselves. The slaves have been slaves for generations, and they're probably scared witless at the moment. It's going to be tricky making them into a functioning society. And do be careful with the other towers, blood magic is nasty. Destroy anything blood magic-related you find, don't let anyone else learn that vile art.>

<The children are not quite as insualar, but they are in turmoil right now, given that the Great Wyrm just died. Expect a minor civil war, but they'll likely be more reasonable afterwards.>
<So we don't want to bother the children either...> Kyvann said.

And do be careful with the other towers, blood magic is nasty. Destroy anything blood magic-related you find, and don't let anyone else learn that vile art.>
<Understood.> He said. <Although... I'm thinking we can send the eastern elves back home, and let each family adopt them, until they get used to living freely. We'll need new crafters and keepers over here, so the citizens back home will gladly move into the towers here. We just need to erect prisms, start the Growers growing, expand the weave as we fight off the other wizards... Hey, if you have control of the golems, can you give me- or bubbles- control of them? That would help to have a much stronger foothold here.>

Speaking of 'destroy everything blood magic related,' we need to find a way to dispose of the blood core safely, if not destroy it outright. We should make sure it isn't corrupting Jormungandr's magical engines or functioning as a phylactery for dickwizard.

<Of course I can. I do want to keep some for experimentation, however.>
>>
>>21124333
<If you have the infrastructure to move around entire nations, then go for it. There are a *lot* of elves here.>
Give him the golems. They're shitty goldsteel golems anyway, we can build better ones at home.

There are a *lot* of elves here.>
<We just need to set up some weave relays, which the council actually decided was a good idea.> He said. <We're expanding the elven republic, and I was voted to oversee things here. In my place, Absinad became the new Judicator, and Kiyara is the new councilor.>

<Kiyara, really?> Ell asked.
<Really.> Kyvann said. <I'm proud of her. She made this speech to the council. By the way, Ell, she's *glowing*. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?>
<Um...>
>>

Bubbles: <Hey, I met your cousin.>
>>
You giggle through the ring.
<That reminds me, I have to go see another glowing elf.>

You make your way into the tower as Ell stutters and tries to explain himself.
Eventually, you end up in the warded room again, and the elven woman is... crying, on Kaliel's shoulder. Kaliel looked entirely unprepared, but she was doing her best to soothe her.

Don't touch her until we know she's safe.
>>
<She really was enchanted, wasn't she? I'm... I'm sorry for doubting your judgement, Kaliel. Is she alright?>
<She's... very upset.> Kaliel said. <From what I understand, they were being controlled, but they.. knew what they were doing the entire time. They did things that their minds rebelled against. I think... well, I think the baby she's carrying is Theussil's. Can we just bring him back to kill him again? Except more painfully?>
>>
>>21124661
<His death was quite painful. Astral fire burning his entire being while every bone in his body shattered.>
>>
>>21124661
<I'm not sure it can get more painful than being crushed all at once by a ton of stone. Just slower. I don't think we should risk it. The last time I brought back a dangerous wizardly demigod as something supposedly harmless, he caused utter havoc. As a bunny. And he didn't have blood magic; Theussil does. Let him rot.>
>>
>>21124661
<He was encased in stone and then pulped. There isn't really anything to bring back.

However, I am tempted to track down his soul and eternally set it on fire. Let him burn until the end of time.

But our focus shouldn't be revenge, it should be helping all the people he hurt. Making the world a better place now that he's dead.>
>>
>>21124661
<Can we do that? If we can, then go ahead, lock him in eternal pain if it means he can't access the after-life. He deserves it for all the blood-magic he's been doing>
>>
>>21124661
<Does it get much more painful than astral fire burning you alive and then being crushed in a giant brick? I don't think there's enough of him left to make a totem or anything.>
>>
>>21124661
<As much as I would enjoy making him truly pay, I do not want the risk of him running around loose.>
>>
>>21124661
<I am not sure there is a more painful way.

Could you... Stop the child? Make it look like an accidental miscarriage?>

"No, not from the other towers. Long ago an elf named Jaridan sailed across the seas with his people to escape this place. On the continent to the west they have prospered, they are kind, strong and good friends of mine. They are back now and they have come to fix this place."
>>
>>21124945
He can't be separated from his girls, and they get nervous in new places. It's best to leave him there. But if we finally get that Weave node set up in Triune's Gift then they could bring people over for him to help.
>>
"They don't tell you anything, do they?" You ask, and she shakes her head. "No, elves from the western continent. Slaves that escaped many generations ago. They believe magic is to be used to help people, not hoarded by tyrants."
"That's.. that's good to hear." She mumbled, and brushed her hair out of her face.

You give her another hug. "Would you like some tea?"
"I.. don't know what tea is."
Kaliel gave her a smile. "It's really good. Come onto the ship, you'll see."
"But..."
"Of course, you don't have to." Kaliel added. "You can do anything you want to. This is just an invitation."

The three of you end up on Jormungandr, sipping at tea, while the western elves make their way through the tower, speaking to the ex-slaves.
Tala leaned close to you, the green pallor of her skin more visible outside. "Erm... may I ask what's wrong with him?" She asked, looking over to Ell. "He's so ... seethrough."
>>
>>21125091
"I don't know, they're all like that. Why are you all so green?"
>>
>>21125091
"Elves who get a lot of sunlight look like that."
>>
>>21125091
"Well, the Western elves departed a long time ago. They look a bit different, now. He's perfectly healthy, I assure you."
>>
I think that's what elves look like when they don't spend all of their time underground.
>>

"He spends a lot of time outside. The more time an elf spends in the sunlight the less green and more transparent they become.

Tala, meet Ele'merelda'jaridan, just call him Ell, he prefers it and it's far easier to remember."
>>
"I don't know, they're all like that." You say. "Why are you all so green?"
"It has to do with elven skin." Kaliel said. "Elves take in sunlight, but the less they're in sunlight, their skin has to adapt to capture what little light there is. It goes green when you're not in the light very much."
"That... that explains it." She said. "He.. he looks nice." She said.
"He's going to have a child." Kaliel said. "His fiancee started glowing a few days ago."
She looked down, and gave her belly a smile. "I'm glad." She said, and sipped at her tea, and then licked at her lips.
"This is really sugary." She said.

"That's so you can taste it at all." You say. "I've noticed that elves don't have the most sensitive taste, so when preparing stuff, I make it extra strong."

You look over to see if Cassiel has any cookies, and you see something rather strange-

Grayson is eating his old body, crunching the bones and slashing through fat and fur. You see that he repierced his new body's ear and slipped the communcation ring in it, as was normal.

"Cassiel, can we have some cookies?" You ask.
"I still haven't paid you back for bringing me back, so I'll get right to work." He said, and nodded, before making his way belowdeck.

"There are a lot of different beings here." Tala said. "All I know about are dwarves."
>>

Autocanibalism, kinky.
>>
>>21125274
<Enjoying yourself there, Grayson?>
>>
>>21125274
"Grayson, why are you eating yourself? That can't be healthy."
>>
>>21125274
<Grayson, why are you eating yourself?>
"There are. I've made a lot of different friends. Any you're curious about in particular?"
>>
>>21125274
<Grayson, manners. Etiquette says that when you eat your former body you should be less messy about it.>

"There are quite a few. I'm a human, Kal is a Kalak, a bird person, but she spends most of her time in the shape of a human.

Back on the western continent there are Ogres, Hobgoblins, Orcs, more humans, kalaks and elves. The giant cat is Grayson, he's eating his former body. It's complicated.

I'll introduce you to people when you feel up to it. If you want to know about anyone let me know."
>>
<Grayson, why are you eating yourself? That can't be healthy.>
<The energy in my old body should help me awaken this body's talent.> He said. <I'm not happy about this, but I don't have the dire talent anymore.>

"There are." You say. "I've made a lot of different friends. Any you're curious about in particular?"
"What about the, uh, girl with the wings? She looks like... a half-breed."
>>
>>21125274
The bird ones are kalak. My girlfriend is one of them.

Indicate kal.
>>
>>21125350
"That's a chimeric form, but her natural form is kalak, the birdfolk.
>>
>>21125350
"Oh, that's Raziel, she's currently in a form that she shape shifted into."
>>
>>21125274
"There are many more races on the Western continent, aside from Elves, Kalack and Humans, there are for example the Orcs, the Lizardmen and Ogres. Do you know more about the Dwarves? They seem to be very secretive and there are none on the Western Continent, so we know very little about them."
>>
>>21125350
"That's Raziel. She was born a Kalak, a bird person, spent a lot of time shapeshifted as a human and recently decided upon a chimeric form.

Kaliel here is also a Kalak, though she spends a lot of time as a human."
>>
>>21125350
"She's one of the bird people, Kalak. She used magic to turn into a human to try and woo a man. Then when he rejected her she used magic to get wings again so she could fly."
>>
>>21125371
Does she even know about humans?
>>
"That's Raziel." You say. "She was born a Kalak, a bird person, and spent a lot of time shapeshifted as a human, and recently decided upon a chimeric form. Kaliel here is also a Kalak, though she spends a lot of time as a human."
"That's only when you're human." Kaliel responded. "When you're in kalak form, I usually go kalak too."
"Um, can I ask about humans?" Tala asked.
>>
>>21125410
"Go ahead. What do you want to know?"
>>
>>21125410
"Sure. What did you want to know?"
>>
>>21125410
"Sure, what about them?"
>>
"Sure, what about them?"
"Well.. you're all so tall, but you look a lot like elves, except for the hands and eyes. Do you know why that is? And how can you use magic when only elves can?"
>>
>>21125450
"Aha, untrue. Most all races of the world can use magic."
>>
>>21125410
Humans are awesome. Look at all of my fingers!
>>
>>21125450
"Well, Kali would probably know why, probably because there was a common ancestor between the two. As for magic, all of the races can use magic, they either just need the practice or natural affinity to do so."
>>
>>21125450
"I... can't say I've ever thought about it. Though, dwarves can use magic, though most don't. Ogres can, they're on a continent even further to the west, and so could dragons, before they were... made extinct. Really, most peoples of the world can use magic."
>>
>>21125450
"I'm not sure why humans are so similar to elves, but I do know that elves aren't the only people who can use magic. In fact, the only race that I have yet to meet a caster from are trolls."
>>
>>21125450
"Humans can use magic. Kalak can use magic. Orks, ogres, hobgoblins, elves, lizardmen, dwarves, the Children, all of the potential for magic. I have yet to meet a race that can not use magic in some way. Whoever told you that only elves can use magic was lying.

As for why we look similar to elves, I don't know. Kaliel might have some ideas on that, maybe our races shared ancestry long, long, long, ago. Or it could be coincidence.
>>
>>21125450
"Lots of species can use magic. Even the dwarves and snake-people on this continent can use magic, although it's quite rare. Theussil probably just said that as part of his silly 'I deserve to rule the world' routine.

I'm afraid I don't know why we look so similar."
>>
>>21125492
>the only race that I have yet to meet a caster from are trolls
We haven't met a dwarven caster, we were just told they exist.
>>
>>21125450
"Magic is not something that is restricted only to Elves, in fact every species has magic users, it is only more common in some species than in others. The 'fact' that only Elves could use magic is a lie that the wizards spread to justify their rule over you.
I can however not really say why it is that our species look alike, maybe bi-pedals with two arms is just a successful blueprint along which many races develop? For examples Orcs and Ogres are rather similar as well, while Lizardmen and Kalak look different in their normal form. I can not really tell, I'm sorry"
>>
>>21125530
Tyr is a wizard.
>>
>>21125530
Tyr is a wizard, he just doesn't use it, I believe.
>>
>>21125545
>>21125552
Wat.
Where did you get that from?
>>
"Humans are awesome. Look at all of my fingers!"
"You have an extra one." She said. "But your fingers are so tiny. Where's your knuckle?"
"Humans have five fingers on each hand, but they're missing an extra segment." Kaliel said.
"Lots of species can use magic. Even the dwarves and snake-people on this continent can use magic, although it's quite rare." You say. "Theussil probably just said that as part of his silly 'I deserve to rule the world' routine."
Tala gritted her teeth for a moment.
"I'm afraid I don't know why we look so similar. Kaliel might have some ideas on that. Maybe our races shared ancestry long, long, long ago. Or it could be coincidence."
"It's coincidence, I think." Kaliel said. "Elven skin and the way they take in light, and the way their bodies and muscles are... they're just plain too different. Hobgoblins and orcs are the same way, how they're so similar, but not similar enough to be related, and the ogres and what little I saw of the Dwarves make me think the same thing."
Aeriel suddenly buzzed. <Excuse me, but should we bring Belle back? I'm fond of the little viper, and I can pull her here.>
>>
>>21125562
During part one, IIRC, Azariel mentioned that he and Gary taught Tyr wizardry.

>>21125572
<Oh, yes, of course. Then, I believe we can head home. I'm sure Kyvann has things well in hand here.>
>>
>>21125572
<Yes, it should be safe now.>
>>
>>21125572
<Now that we're out of danger, for time being, yes.>
>>
>>21125572
<Do so.>
"Not everyone has the potential to learn magic, but there are more elven casters than human ones, as far as I know. And my magic is special."
>>
>>21125572
<Yes. Though let her know before you suddenly teleport her.>

"That's rather strange. I'm guessing that magic is involved somehow.

There are quite a few elven wizards, not as many humans though I intent to change that, and Kalaks though few in number, all of the ones who live here are strong wizards.

I'm not actually a wizard, I know a bit of wizardry but most of my casting is called Sorcery."
>>
>>21125590
The other way round, Azarial and Tyr taught Gareth magic and when asked whether he could achieve immortality through loosing his identity they could not answer, causing Gareth to go and find out on his own, leading to him becoming the Wanderer IIRC.
>>
<Oh, yes, of course.> you say. <Then, I believe we can head home. I'm sure Kyvann has things well in hand here.>
<Glad to hear it.> He said, and suddenly the orb itself vanished from your inventory, and Aeriel's body pushed itself back up. Belle suddenly appeared, sleeping, stretched languidly out. Tala jumped at the suddenly appearing girl, and then started giggling nervously.
"Not everyone has the potential to learn magic, but there are more elven casters than human ones, as far as I know. And my magic is special."
"Special? How so?"
"I'm not actually a wizard; I know a bit of wizardry, but most of my casting is called Sorcery."
"... So you have the ability that Theusill wanted." She said. "The ability to control some artifact and become god."
>>
>>21125654
"Theussil was too late for that. I've already turned down godhood and destroyed that artifact."
>>
>>21125654
"If he was talking about the gearwork, I destroyed it."
>>
>>21125654
Actually, Sorcery is more like intuitive wizardry, or wizardry without spells. But their was an artifact of immense power that would only work for a sorceror.

Fortunately, however, that artifact has since been destroyed
>>
>>21125654
"Well, I actually destroyed that artifact. It was tearing magic from other worlds, causing all sorts of problems. There's also more to it then that."
>>
>>21125654
Start giggling, then laughing.

"Oh, that old thing. He was a bit late. It was called the Gearworks. I could have become god but it would have hurt people so I chose not to and destroyed it instead."
>>
>>21125685
Fuck, that their should be there
>>
"Actually, sorcery is more like... intuitive wizardry, or wizardry without spells. And if he was talking about the gearworks, I've already turned down godhood and destroyed that artifact."
"... oh." She said. "So he did that whole plan with trying to lure you here so he could take your power... and you already destroyed the entire reason for his plan."
She gave off a humorless giggle.

Well that took a lot of searching. He certainly kept it quiet.

It sort of puts these silly mage tower wars in perspective, doesn't it. Hopefully, we can show the rest the error of their ways

And if not, we can always cry havoc and let slip the tiger of war
>>
>>21125710
"Mm, yep. That pretty well covers it."
>>
>>21125710
"He was not an exceptionally clever man. Trying to kill me rarely works out well for people.

I'm actually somewhat glad he tried that, it saved me the trouble of making sure he was evil and rendered it impossible to feel guilt over killing him in a rather painful manner."
>>
>>21125710
"It was a stupid plan regardless. Sorcery is a strange talent. It can only manifest in someone in my bloodline who is also a heir to a throne. It doesn't seem to matter which throne, however."
>>
"It sort of puts these silly mage tower wars in perspective, doesn't it." You say.
"It does." She said, and looked up at the prism.
"Where does that big beam of magic go? Or come from?"
Kaliel looked up, as did you, but you couldn't see anything.
>>
>>21125710
"He really should have done his research on that."
>>
>>21125751
"Over to the western continent. They use it to power their airships and things."
>>
>>21125751
"Huh. I don't see the beam. It appears you have a Talent, which seems like seeing magic. The magic leads far to the west, to the other continent."
>>
>>21125751
It goes across the sea, to the homes of the western elves, and it will help them come here and free you collective brethren
>>
>>21125751
"Oh, my. It seems you have a Talent to see magic. We can't see it at all. It's probably the weave, however. It runs all the way to the western elves. If you have that talent, you might just be distantly related to Ell! Kali can check if you want."
>>
>>21125751
"I don't see it myself, you seem to be able to see magic like Ell. I'm guessing it's a connection to the weave, a network of magic the western elves made.

Ell, that big beam of magic is the weave, right?"
>>
"Over to the western continent." You say. "They use it to power their airships and things."
"So... they don't use cores?" She asked.
"No, they call it The Weave." Kaliel said. "Like, a giant web of magic across their land."
"Oh my, it seems you have a Talent to see magic. We can't see it at all. If you have that talent, you might just be distantly related to ell! Kali can check if you want."
"Um, I'm still not that good at that sort of thing." Kaliel said. "I need to do more study and research first. Speaking of which, I should probably get back to it."
>>
>>21125820
Couldn't you do that thing you did with the goats? Doesn't that tell how closely related two beings are?"
>>
>>21125820
"Go ahead Kaliel, I needed to go check up on Kristoph in a bit, anyway."
>>
>>21125820
"Take care sweetie. Love you, have fun."

Give Kal a kiss and let her work.

"Tala, we're going to be teleporting home, back to New Arcturus, soon. Would you like to come along or would you rather stay with the elves who came here?"
>>
>>21125820
"of course dear, have fun."
I think we should give Tyr a heads up on happenings.
<Tyr, just letting you know, a group of Elves from my continent have arrived, they're going to begin taking down the wizards of this region>
>>
>>21125860
add, <and freeing the slaves. We're on the process of eliminating blood magic from this world.>
>>
>>21125820
"Ok."

"They have different technology. They use crystals instead of cores which are worse at storing power but can cast spells without you doing anything."

>>21125854
She's pregnant, I really think she should stay with the people who know how to raise elven babies. A single mother being the only one of her species (Kiyara is a councillor now and Ell will go home with her) is going to be hard.
>>
"Take care, sweetie." You say, and kiss her. "Love you. Have fun."
"I will." She said.
<Tyr, just letting you know, a group of elves from my continent have arrived. they're going to begin taking down the wizards of the region, and freeing the slaves. We're on the process of eliminating blood magic from this world.>
<Aha, good to hear.> Tyr said. <Thank you for the warning.>

You turn to Tala.
"But, um..." She said, looking between you and the absconding Kaliel. "Aren't you both women? How can, um. Um. Do you magically, well, um..."
She shook her head. "Nevermind."
>>
>>21125925
"If you must know, shapeshifting."
>>

"It works with or without magic, actually. You'll love the cookies Cass is making. They're amazing."

"Yes, magic."
>>
>>21125925
Blush deeply, avert our eyes, and mumble something about "Shapeshifting..."
>>
>>21125925
Blush a rather interesting shade of red.

"There's an awful lot you can do even though we're both women, no magic needed. Also, we can both shapeshift between species at the drop of a hat. Gender's easy.
>>
You avert your eyes, and your cheeks go red.
"It works with or without magic, actually." You mumble... and then you change the subject.
"You'll love the cookies Cass is making. they're amazing."
"I can't wait." She said.
"Tala, we're going to be teleporting home, back to New Arcturus, soon. Would you like to come along, or would you rather stay with the elves who came here?"
"I'd... I'd rather come along." She said. "But if you don't want me I can stay here. I can still- still talk and stuff under my own power so I'm happy either way."
>>
>>21125994
Alright, then please be my guest in New Arcturus.

Ell and Kiyara were the only ones.

>>21125994
"I'd love to have you. I just wanted the choice to be yours.

I should probably start introducing you to people. The giant cat that's eating the giant bear is Grayson. Earlier today he was the bear and he sacrificed himself to protect people from arrows, now he's a giant cat.

If you ever need someone soft, kind and protective you can go to him."

"Anyone's welcome in New Arcturus. But it might get a bit lonely being the only elf there."

"We have plenty of room in New Arcturus." You say. "There's no elves, but everyone is friendly. I'd love to have you. I just wanted the choice to be yours. It might get a bit lonely being the only elf there, though."

"It.. It won't be lonely, not if it's a city." She said, and gave a glance to Ell. "A city that's open to the sun."
She gave the tea another smile, and continued sipping at it.
Aeriel rolled his shoulders, then looked down to the sleeping Belle.
"Well, I can try opening that portal anytime." He said.
>>
>>21126119
"I don't think there's anything else to do on this continent. Let's go home."
>>
>>21126119
"Let's go home. I feel like I need to sleep for a week.

<Kyvann, we're ready to go home. Is there anything else you need?>
<Not that I can think of, and bubbles says that the time loop should be stable now. Good luck.>

"Let's go home." You say. "I feel like I need to sleep for a week."
"Right away." Aeriel said, and slipped his orb into the dragon's eyesocket.

Zeke frowned. "I didn't even get to use my newest spell..."

The ship started stuttering, jittering wildly, and then... like two curtains being pulled back, the fabric of space split open, revealing nothing but darkness.
<Do it.> Aeriel said, and Ell touched the control crystal. The airship shot off toward the portal.

When you come to, again, your ears are fine, unlike last time... and you're a bit too far west, floating above Ursae province.
"You wanted the world key, right?" Aeriel said. "You should be able to talk to the high lord about it below."
>>
>>21126231
Let's go down. Bring whoever, it doesn't really matter.

"Thank you Aeriel."

Head down to get the Key and talk to the High Lord. Let our people rest, I don't think we need a posse for this.

"This...this is a grave injustice."

Then smile at him. Knowing Zeke he might not really care that much.
>>
>>21126272
We could take Fellwind down. He trained at this cathedral, he might want to see it again. On the other hand, he's probably busy worrying about his girlfriend almost dying at the moment.
>>
"Thank you, Aeriel." You say, and he nods.
"I just need a rest and a bit of a breath, and then I can take us home completely." He said.

"And Zeke, what do you mean you didn't get to use your spell. Weren't you shooting at the golems?"
"Using my normal spells, yes, but they were never clustered up enough for me to use the big one." He frowned.

You approach the airship tower, and then you step off.
"I don't think I need a posse for this." You say, and give them a smile. Grayson climbed off of the ship.
"Too bad." He responded, and started purring. "I'm coming."

You giggle, and then make your way down the tower itself, and into the High Lord's halls.

"Ishelda, welcome!" The High Lord said, chuckling. He bowed, and looked over to his guards. "Er, Your Royal Majesty Ishelda. Haha, I don't mean any disrespect, of course."
>>
>>21126347
"None taken, Ursae. I think we know each other well enough to skip the titles. I'll get right to the point. I need to borrow the world key for a short while."
>>
>>21126347
"Don't worry about it, Ursae. I was wondering if I could borrow your artifact. A friend of mine has been cursed to turn to stone so I can't move her here for healing."
>>
>>21126347
"Please Karkus, Ishelda is just fine. I'm not here on any queenly business. It's good to see you again.

>>
>>21126347
"Hello, High Lord, it's good to see you again. I'm not here on official business so don't worry about the formalities. It's been a busy day so I hope you don't mind if I am quite blunt in asking if I could borrow the world key for a short period of time?"
>>
"Please, Karkus, Ishelda is just fine." You say. "I'm not here on official business, so don't worry about the formalities."
"I usually don't." He said, and the boisterous high lord gave you a grin.
"It's been a busy day, so I hope you don't mind if I am quite blunt in asking if I could borrow the world key for a short period of time?"
"Oh, well, the Adventurer's Guild have removed the last of the trolls in the area, so we have no need for it. Go ahead. I'll speak with the order of healers about getting it to you."

He nodded. "Come along, come along."
You and the high lord made your way out of the halls, even to the point where he shooed off the guards who tried to follow him, and the two of you eventually reach the cathedral.

"Excuse me." The high lord told one of the white robed healers. "Ishelda needs to borrow the World Key, and so we plan on loaning it to her. Please do so."
"... Right away, high lord." The healer responded.
"My name is Karkus." The high lord said, and chuckled.
"Sorry, Karkus."
He laughed again, as the healer climbed up to the bell, and took the World Key from it, bringing it back down and giving it to you.
"Well, there you go." High Lord Ursae said.

"Winter is coming." He said. "So we're stocking up on food and supplies, and the fields are lying unused, for now. This is the one season our people can relax in peace, and so we're looking forward to the snows."
He gave another chuckle, and patted his beard. His eye twinkled.
"For some strange reason, so many people have children every summer. Must be from being cooped up in the houses in winter, all alone..."
He chuckled.
"Good luck with your friend, Ishelda." He said.

"Thank you, Karkus. Do take care, you're a good man."
"Oh, I will." He said, and chuckled.
"If you need anything from New Arcturus, just let me know."
"I will." He said, again, and made his way back to the hall.

Grayson watched him go, his feline body still rather strange to you, and the two of you walked back up to the tower and to Jormungandr.

"Aeriel, if you wouldn't mind?" You ask, as you climb back aboard, wand in hand. You see Ell, your father, Tala, and Belle talking and sipping at tea.

<Right away.> He said.

The entire world shuddered, once more, and the portal opened. Not wanting to disturb Ell, you touch the crystal yourself, and urge it on and through. When you tear free of the portal, you see New Arcturus down below. The statue of the knight, the monument, seemed to look up at you and wink, and some of the populace started cheering at your arrival.

<Welcome home!> Marigold cried.

Grayson chuckled... and then he suddenly blurred, and was gone.

>>
>>21126774
<Hey Kal, did you put Talents into those tiger things?>
>>
<That's good to hear.>
<He's been helping Sardriel teach me magic.> Marigold said. <I'm still not that good at it, though. My light spell keeps falling apart.>
You whirl about.
"Azariel's back!" You say, and Raziel grins, suddenly leaping over the edge of the airship, wings spread.

<Kell should be happy to see you.> You say. <You may ... have to hold off on dragging Kristoph to your room, though. He's a bit injured, nothing really serious.> You say, and eye Kristoph's still sleeping form. <You can, however, nurse him back to health, which is almost as good.>
<Can I? Oooh.> She responded. <I'm looking forward to it.>

You key the ring again, noting that more and more kalak- like Cassiel, or Zeke- start leaping over the edge, wings spread, but Kaliel doesn't come abovedeck.
<Hey Kal, did you put talents into those tiger things?>
<No, I didn't.> She said. <When I invented them, I didn't understand how talents were passed down entirely. So they probably have part of whatever I put into their chimeric form. A draconic or feline talent, probably.>
>>
>>21126865
Feline likely, considering his thing
>>
>>21126865
<I'm going to fix Dras'. Do you want to come along?>
>>
>>21126865
<Grayson can go invisible. That sounds like a cat thing. Invisible dragons would be terrifying.>
>>
>>21126865
<Given what he is he probably just unlocks Dire Talents of his host creature. I'm guessing feline as disappearing acts don't feel very draconic.>

I think we should check on Kristoph, see how he's doing, get him to a soft bed in the castle and leave him to Marigold's ministrations.
>>
Rolled 99

>>21126865
Kaliel, are you ok? You're worrying me.

Also, no keying draslea until we have Kristoph and kaliel there.
>>
<Grayson can go invisible.> you say, petting the invisible fluffiness that turns out to be one of his shoulders. <That sounds like a cat thing.>
<It does.> She responded, obviously distracted- she was working.
<I'm going to fix Dras. Do you want to come along?>
<I'm sure that in the vault, things will be safe.> She said. <And Dras kind of... creeps me out.> She added.

You make your way over to Kristoph, and you see how he's doing. Other than a small scar on his neck and his constant sweating, he seemed unharmed.
"Can you get him to a soft bed, and then tell Marigold where he is?" You ask two of the pages at the airship tower. They nod, and both pick up the knight, taking him down the tower.

"This is New Arcturus?" Bell'lea asked, looking from Jormungandr, down at Triune's gift.
"This is beautiful." Tala said, smiling. She pulled Belle into a hug.
"Wait!" She said, and turned to you. "I see my sister. Can we go visit her?"
>>
>>21126976
"Yep. I'll show you around for a bit."
Lead her down to Quaz's place.
>>
>>21126976
"Of course.

Belle, what do you think the best way to break the news of the Great Wyrm's death to her would be?"
>>
>>21126976
"Yes, let's. I'm sure she'll be happy to see you."

>I'm sure that in the vault, things will be safe.
That's retarded. The enchantments are keyed to automatically let us pass. She is us. She's not restricted at all.
>>
>>21127006
>Belle, what do you think the best way to break the news of the Great Wyrm's death to her would be
We already dumped that task on Velk'lea.
>>
"Of course!" You say. "Belle, what do you think the best way to break the news of the Great Wyrm's death to her would be?"
"... Maybe I should tell her." She said. "Quoo never gets angry at me, no matter what I do. Or you could have mom tell her over the rings...> She hugged Melma a bit tighter, and took your hand. Tala took her other hand.
Together, the three of you made your way down the tower, and all the way down to Triune's Gift together, before reaching Quaz's rather large house. Bob sat on the post outside as usual, and then started tipping to Quaz, who was sunning out back.
"Ishelda!" She said, grinning widely- and then she suddenly stared down at Belle.
"Belle!" She cried, even louder. "And Melma! You're here! Velk'lea didn't tell me you two were coming!"
She pulled the two into an enormous, snake-tailed hug, coils writhing and coiling this way and that.
>>
>>21127087
Try not to be crushed.
>>
>>21127087
"We thought we'd keep it as a pleasant surprise. Have you been well in my absence?"
>>
>>21127087
>Velk'lea didn't tell me you two were coming!
No, but we did. We said we were bringing Belle back when we asked her about the underbrain thing. Why's she surprised?
>>
"We thought we'd keep it as a pleasant surprise." You say.

Quaz doesn't seem to hear you, in between draconian cheers and hugging.
"Quoo..." Belle says.
"The people here call me Quaz and I like that a lot better. It's easier to say. Want to meet some of my ogre friends? They're teaching me how to make mead. We only need bees for that."
"Bees?"
"Some kind of insect thing. It's all yellow and striped. My friends drew me a picture."
"Can I meet them?"
"Sure!" Quaz said, and started to wander off.
"Wait, you got distracted again. I meant later." Belle said, and giggled. "Ishelda and Tala are here."
"Ishelda!" Quaz said again, and gave you a hug- with her human arms. "And nice to meet you, Tala."
".. You too, Quaz." Tala said.
"Have you been well in my absence?"
"I've been working." Quaz said. "In three more weeks I'll have been working for a month, and then I'll be able to get paid."
"Paid?" Belle asked.
"I'll be able to explain money later." Quaz said.
"Okay."
>>
>>21127220
Hug Quaz back.

"Quaz, Belle, have fun. I'm sure you have a lot to talk about. I have some business to take care of in the vaults."

We should find a room in the Palace, one with a lot of sunlight, tell Tala it's hers for as long as she wants it, and leave her to her own devices while we fix up Dras.
>>
>>21127220
"I'm glad you're having fun. I'll let you two catch up."
To Azariel. I want to know all the juicy godslaying details.
>>
>>21127220
You take good care of her now.

No not you quaz, I'm talking to the little one.
>>
You hug Quaz back. "Quaz, Belle, have fun. I'm sure you have a lot to talk about. I'm glad you're having fun. I'll let you two catch up."
"Thank you." Quaz said, nodding to you. You give her a smile in response, and then make your way back to the castle, simply wandering- trying to find a guest room with a lot of light. Eventually, you do find one- a large room with even larger windows, complete with a large, fluffy, unused bed, and empty shelves.
"This is yours as long as you want it." You say, and Tala hugs you again.
"Thank you." She whispered. "I finally have someplace that's my own. You don't know how much that means to me."
>>
>>21127399
"I'm happy to help, Tala. Excuse me, I have a thing I need to attempt"

Well...I'd say it's Dras time.
>>
>>21127399
"It's my pleasure to help. If you ever need anything just let me or one of my friends know. If you want this to be I would love for you to be able to call this place home.

I hope that you like the room. I tried to get as much sunlight as possible.

Now you might want to get some rest, you've had a long day. I'll have someone wake you up for dinner if you decide to take a nap."

Then, to the vaults.
>>
>>21127399
Because it's not like we were tossed into another world knowing nobody with no place to call home and then made this country specifically for other people like that or anything.
Smile at her. "I think I do. I'll get Gehenna to come round when he has time, he does all the paperwork. I have more stuff to do, but get some rest, it's been a stressful day."
>>
"It's my pleasure to help." You say. "If you ever need anything, just let me or one of my friends know. If you want this to be, I would love for you to be able to call this place home."
"... I already do." She said, and gave you a smile.

"Now, you might want to get some rest, you've had a long day. I'll have someone wake you up for dinner if you decide to take a nap." You say.
"I might." She said, and gave you a smile.

"Now excuse me, I have a thing I need to attempt."
"Good luck." She said.
You make your way out of the room, and head toward the vaults.
For Tala, It took less than a minute after you left before she went wandering around the castle.

You activate the secret passage, unlock the wards, and walk into the vault, immediately walking toward Dras'lea's statue. Still thin and malnourished, her form was standing there, still frozen as stone.

The heart-like crystal in your inventory starts to pull toward her- or try to, at least.
>>
>>21127503
Right. First we set up a pile of food and tea and tell Fellwind that we're likely to have a malnourished person who needs medical attention.

Then break Tyr's curse and the stone thing with the World Key.

Then return the emotions.
>>
>>21127503
Let's use the world key first.
>>
>>21127503
Maybe it would be a good idea to have Lewin nearby? Considering that it seems as if it was the loss of Lewin that triggered the events that turned Dras'Lea into what she is today.
>>
>>21127503
We're doing this alone? No Kristoph or anybody? When she's more powerful than us, will probably go at least a little bit crazy when her emotions come back, and it's just coming up to cliffhanger o'clock?
>>
>>21127503
Set wards to maximum.
Prime world key.
Deploy world key.
>>
>>21127521
Seconding this.
>>
You.. hesitate, and take a step back.

<.. Lewin, can you come down to the dungeons, please?>
<Er, right away.> He said. You leave the vault, and wait there, until he finally shows up.
"A secret passage, eh?" He asked, and chuckled. "What's going on?"
>>
>>21127568
"I'm going to unlock Dras'lea. If...if she's here because of why I think she's here, then...you're important."
>>
>>21127568
"It's... complicated, and hard to explain, and I'm not entirely sure I have it right. I just think it would be good if you're here, for when I do what I'm about to do."
>>
>>21127568
"I'm going to try and fix Dras'lea. She tried to say your name as her last word so I thought you might be important."
>>
"It's... complicated, and hard to explain, and I'm not entirely sure I have it right." You say. "I just think it would be good if you're here, for when I do what I'm about to do."
"Erm... okay?" He asked, and scratched his head. "Then I'll be here."

You walk into the ward, and allow Lewin to walk in, and while he looks around, you quickly walk toward one of the side passages, looking at Dras'lea for the second time.

"... What?" He asked. "That's just a statue of you. A really thin one, nonetheless, but still a statue."
>>
>>21127627
"Well, that's Dras'lea for you. Do you think we should at least wait for Kristoph?"
>>
>>21127627
"That's Dras'lea."
World key
>>
>>21127627
"Easy mistake to make.

That's Dras'lea, and she turned herself to stone because of a curse.

Imagine what would happen if you died because of me a long time ago, and it hurt me bad enough that I tore out my emotions so it wouldn't hurt any more.

That's what happened with Dras, she was me, she did that, and somehow she traveled back."
>>
>>21127627
"Not... quite. This is Dras'lea. I think she's me from another... time? World? I'm not sure how it works."

Let the revivification begin.
>>
>>21127627
"A statue that's destroyed an entire universe."
>>
"That's Dras'lea." You say.
"What?"
You raise the world key, and for some, strange reason, it's quivering in your palm, light streaming from the tip. You press it against the statue... and the bracer on her wrist shatters, falling to the ground as chunks of stone. Bit by bit, stone flakes off of her flesh, returning her to what little color she had, and her eyes opened, as her weight shifted.
She met your eyes- hers were dark, impossibly dark, with pupils little more than points. Empty eyes, completely utterly empty of emotion, or compassion, or empathy... or even understanding of any of those.
"So, have you acquired the gearworks? Or is it time for me to die?" She asked, with a certain tone of fatality.
>>
>>21127676
"The gearworks is gone."
>>
>>21127676
Put one hand on her shoulder and push the emotions into her.
>>
>>21127676
"The gearworks is gone. The price the worlds would pay for it was too high. But it is not time for you to die, it is time for you to live once more.

There is something you lost long ago, something very important, I'm here to return it to you."
>>
>>21127676
"I have entered the Gearworks, and retrieved something that belongs to you." Return her emotions.
>>
>>21127676
You lied to me dreslea. But I got you this. It cost me more then you know.
>>
>>21127676
"I aquired it. I gave up a lot to fix your own stupid mistake and you're not going to waste your second chance, understand?"
>>
You put one hand on her shoulder, and she doesn't react, demanding an answer with her eyes.
"You lied to me, Dras'lea." You say. "But I got you this. It cost me more than you know."

You tear the crystal out of your inventory, and shove it into her chest. She gasps, loudly, and falls away from you, as if you'd knocked the wind out of her. She starts breathing more and more quickly, looking down to the ground, breathing heavily... and then... she started crying.
"I... I d-did so many h-horrible things." She said, hugging her legs, leaning back against the wall, sobbing.
>>
>>21127776
Go hug her.
"It's okay."
>>
>>21127776
"Yes. Yes you did."
>>
>>21127776
"Do you want to talk about it?"
>>
As small note make sure to keep the world key away from her.
>>
>>21127776
Hug ourselves. Don't let go.

"Tell me what happened."
>>
>>21127776
Motion to Lewin to join you and comfort her.
"It's alright now, you are with friends now. I may not fully understand how you feel, but I think I have an idea of what you are feeling. You can not blame yourself."
>>
>>21127863
She can totally blame herself. It's her fault.
>>
You sit down next to her, and pull her into a tight hug.
"Yes, yes you did." You say. "It's okay. Do you want to talk about it?"
"I... ended. e-ended everything. E-everyone. M-myself. But I fixed it, right? D-didn't I? I- I tried to fix it. I-I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
She sniffled, and pushed her face into the crook of your neck, sobbing.
"I'm sorry." She whispered, in a quiet, quiet voice.

The world key seemed to quiver, again, and then went still.

>End of thread!
>>
>>21127899
If worst comes to worst, and she can't cope and we are SURE she is us, I think we should mind merge with her.

We have enough happiness to share around, and we have a fate point incase something goes wrong and we need to remain dominant.
>>
>>21127979
We could also do a light version of that spell Sardriel uses. Most of the people that it's used on come out of it much better than they were before, and if she does get addicted to it, we should be able to deal with that,
>>
>>21127899
I think that she needs a giant mug of tea and a sandwich the size of her head.
>>
>>21128166
Instead of mind-numbing bliss, we can do a version that just puts her in a state of general contentedness.
But that's only if she seriously can't cope with her real emotions.
>>
I think it is important to note that while she might be emotionally vulnerable, she is still a world shattering mage and presumably sorceress.

We might have to seal that up temporarily, or pair her with kristoph for a bit.
>>
>>21128395
She definitely is a sorceress, gearworks said so.
>>
>>21128423
Something to note is that the gearworks said she 'had sorcery', but the gearworks also said that 'I don't recognize her as a sorcerer'
>>
I think we should seal her magic, at least until she calms down enough that we know she isn't going to do anything drastic.
>>
>>21128437
I presumed that was just because she'd already linked to the gearworks in her universe so she couldn't command ours as well or something.
>>
>Why the fuck did we agree to enter in the first place? I am pretty sure only one person wanted to go in.
>Goddamnit, you're right. I've got to stop fucking up- at the very least, I should have made it greentext to 'go in' or not. Have a fate point.
He's not right at all. We arrived at the tower, and several people tried to argue with Theussil while I suggested going up to the window to look in and see where he wanted us to go. At that point there were zero votes for actually going in yet. Then there was an update in which trying to get him to come out failed and you posted a greentext >Who's going in? At that point there were four votes for various party configurations going in and zero votes for "nobody, let's fuck around outside and not learn anything", so we went in. What's the problem? I'm not complaining at a free fate point but it's confusing that we get one for something so trivial. As far as I can find in the archives that's only the third fate point you've ever given for a fuck-up, and it's nowhere near your third-worst fuck up.
>>
>>21128583
You are incorrect. There were three votes for 'fuck off, I'm not going into your tower' and one vote for enter, ishy tried to get him out, then said, ok, ill be go in, then we got a greentext who go? I was forced to assume we were going, so I damage control voted for the safest party members I could. Who go? Leaves no option for not going. That was the fuck up.
>>
>>21128583
The problem is that, despite everything and every way I was trying to lead you into the tower, this is a quest- something that means that you guys are the ones to make the choices. At the very least, when I wrote '>who's going in' I should have added a second choice to not enter the tower. It's difficult for me to exert just enough control to keep things moving but not too much control to railroad the quest. I really try not to, but sometimes I fuck up. And I fucked up then, and I apologize for it.
>>
>>21128683
>There were three votes for 'fuck off, I'm not going into your tower' and one vote for enter
I just said that wasn't a vote for enter, it was a vote for look through the window.
>ishy said ok, ill be go in
She never said anything like that. Here's the post: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/21108540/#p21112938
>Who go? Leaves no option for not going.
'Nobody' is a valid answer to 'who go?'
>>
>>21128708
>As far as I can find in the archives that's only the third fate point you've ever given for a fuck-up, and it's nowhere near your third-worst fuck up.
This is kind of the bit I want explanation of. What makes you decide whether a fuck up is bad enough for a fate point? Because it's clearly completely different to my view.
>>
>>21128797
Usually I give fate points for times when my posts- or the posts/votes I take- are clearly against consensus and significant enough to completely change the way the plot is going. or for other fuckups that I don't quite recall right now.
I'm actually pretty bad at keeping things consistent with the whole fate point thing.
>>
>>21128732
The exact wording was 'who bring' which reads as 'ishelda is going, who will she bring?'

Please read your own goddamn references.
>>
>>21129022
Yes, decision the wording implied we were going. Ishelda never said so. You could have still spoken up and said "no, we're not". I'm not saying it wasn't a fuck up but come on, it was a fairly minor one.
>>
>>21129089
Better that he strives to improve himself fully then to let his faults slide by.
>>
>>21127899
>I ended everything. But I fixed it.
She fixed it. She didn't travel to another universe, she fixed it. She broke down everything and started from scratch. And then when we fucked up that attempt making a dragon egg, she destroyed it again, and started a third time. And then when we fucked up that attempt trying to get it on with Marigold, she destroyed it again. And then when we fucked up that attempt by creating a cloak singularity, she destroyed it again. And she kept fucking going until Ishelda's life went right. Until we got a good end.
Void Queen confirmed for worst monster ever.
>>
>>21129779
Yes, improving himself fully would be great. I was complaining about him improving minor things while ignoring major things. I was asking why he was inconsistent. In reply I got 'I'm just inconsistent'. So I guess that conversation's over. Where's this one going?
>>
>>21129865
Now I feel REALLY bad. Thanks anon.
